Greetings Earthlings!

Welcome to the Madqueen Show!

I am your host the MadQueen

On today's menu, our Industry Invaders episode

is going to show you how the Gameplay of a video game is designed

First of all, I'd like to thank the two

developers who collaborated with this video, contributing with their knowledge and expertise

on this matter

So a huge thanks to Eduard Lopez Plans, Gameplay Programmer on The Witcher 3

and Lead Gameplay programmer on the upcoming Hitman title

and Tomasz Kozera, Senior Gameplay Designer on The Witcher 3 and Game Designer

at 11-Bit Studios

A video game starts with an idea

A vision

At the early stages of the game, before the preproduction starts, a small team of people

decides what the game is going to be in general terms

Where is the game set?

What's the story about?

What do you want to communicate with this game?

Is it going to be a shooter?

A fighting game?

Racing?

Or all of it at the same time?

The setting of the game is also going to influence the game mechanics that are into this game,

for instance, if your setting is a dessert you can have water management mechanics

Is at this moment when the basic foundations of the gameplay mechanics are set, and with

all these ideas in mind, the pre-production of the game starts

The pre-production phase of a game is as complex as the game itself, for instance, the preproduction

of Horizon Zero Dawn took more than 5 years, during which, the creative team at Guerrilla

Studios read a lot of documentation that was needed to create a believable world

During the pre-production, it is also decided the exact amount of gameplay mechanics that

are going to be in the game

The amount of mechanics, as well as their complexity, depends a lot on the technology

used, they need to make sure that the engine that is used to process the game is technologically

capable of carrying all these mechanics

In case the developer decides that they're going to use a pre-built engine, the creative

team needs to make sure that all the gameplay mechanics that they want to see implemented

in the game are supported by the engine

And if it's not the case, they would need to program their own engine to adapt it to

the needs of the game as it was the case, for example, of the Witcher saga, which complexity

demanded a tailored engine thus the Red Engine was created

Once this preproduction ends, a very small sample of the game is created

This sample is internally called "Vertical slice", popularly known as pre-Alfa, that

looks very much like the final game should look like, establishing this way the look

and feel of the game

This vertical slice becomes the tool to unify every department working on this game, so

in every stage of production, the production team can go back to it to make sure that every

aspect of the game is cohesive and follows the original vision

With the preproduction and the vertical slice done, the real production begins

All the work that needs to be done to complete the video game is split into parts and sent

to different departments, but in this video, we're only going to talk about the gameplay design

At this point, the amount and type of gameplay mechanics that the game is going to have is

already decided

In games with different mechanics, like for instance Batman's Arkham Knight, where you

have stealth combat, driving, flying and regular Batman Style fist combat, every different

mechanic is sent to a team of gameplay designers to work on it

The first step in designing the perfect gameplay mechanic is dismantelling such mechanic into

the different pieces that compose it

If, for instance, if we're talking about sword fighting, the team in charge of this game

mechanic is going to decide how all the parts that compose that mechanic are going to work together

How is the attack going to be?

A slower but more powerful attack and a quick but weaker?

Is the fight going to have different buttons combinations to make combos?

How will the parry work?

Once this is established, a small prototype of the animation is done to see, in general

terms, how this mechanic feels

This prototype is done with basic geometrical figures and no textures, and it's intended

to give a view of how the mechanics work

This prototype can have two results: it either needs to be re-worked with some changes or

it's ready to go to the next step and be the base for the finished game mechanic

But even if the prototype is good, there is still a long way to walk before this gameplay

mechanic is finished, a way paved with changes and perfections to polish this mechanic until

it's ready to be shown to the players

Some developers are so perfectionists that they keep polishing the game mechanics until

the last day possible, delivering these changes in patches that are not thought to correct

the game but to perfect it

Day zero patches, that are so criticized by the community, are often a sample of this perfectionism

Once the game is shipped, the only step that remains to be completed in this process

is the one that involves gamers around the world enjoying the game and immersing into

the gameplay mechanics

Strange Things About Kelly Ripa And Mark Consuelos' Marriage - Duration: 3:51.

Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos have been married more than 20 years, which is a monumental

feat for any relationship, but especially for one that started between two actors on

a soap opera set.

They've attributed much of their success to open communication, which apparently also

translates to their fans, because over the years they've revealed a lot about their personal

lives.

Here are the strangest things they've told the world about their relationship.

Meaty Mark

In an interview with Vanity Fair, Ripa said that she knew about Consuelos' days as a,

quote, "go-go boy" long before the National Enquirer revealed "Kelly Ripa's Sexy Secret."

For Ripa, Consuelos' stripper past is no biggie, saying,

"A lot of hot guys in Hollywood have done that."

"... he's gorgeous, looking to break into show business, so he started off as a roadie

to a group of these guys, and then they talked him into stripping."

The Enquirer story also alleged that Consuelos danced under the name "Meaty Mark" at a Tampa

club called Stingers.

Baffling ban

There was a time when the children of Kelly Ripa, star of her own daytime TV talk show,

and Mark Consuelos, professional TV actor, were not allowed to watch TV during the week.

Ripa told Vanity Fair,

"We are kind of strict.

We are a little bit old-school that way."

"They are allowed to TiVo but watch TV only on the weekends.

TV during the week interferes with schoolwork."

Reasonable enough, but it's a little strange, considering television paid for the kids to

grow up in a $20 million dollar SoHo penthouse boasting a "3,073-square-foot roof deck with

a fireplace, hot tub, and outdoor shower."

But, then again, who needs TV when you're growing up with all that?

Post-coital curiosity

In a particularly memorable episode of Live With Kelly, Consuelos was temporarily filling

the co-host position when he was blindsided by Ripa's suggestion that he is unkind after

they have quote, "grown-up time":

"He's immediately mean to me afterwards, and I don't like that!

I think it's bizarre.

He becomes short with me.

You know what I mean?

Like irritated."

Two weeks later, Consuelos returned to the show and defended himself:

"I just wanted to set the record straight that no one can be mean after something if

they're unconscious."

"I sleep."

Markolepsy

Speaking of unconsciousness: During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Ripa discussed what

she calls her husband's "markolepsy," listing off all of the places in which Consuelos has

taken an impromptu snooze.

"Any awards show ever, in the history of time.

Um, even when he's been nominated, like, out like a light.

Like, this is your category…"

"Cameras on him?"

"Cameras on him.

It's like, 'Wake up!'"

In contrast, Ripa admitted to Good Housekeeping that she's a borderline insomniac.

"I typically go to bed at 1:00 A.M.

Then I wake up around 3:30 for some reason.

I get up and check on the kids."

"I turn on the TV and try to find an infomercial that is very repetitive to put me to sleep.

Then I usually get up around 6:00 A.M."

Strangely healthy

Any Hollywood couple who has been together for more than 20 years is inevitably going

to face tabloid rumors that their marriage is falling apart.

But in Ripa and Consuelos' case, the rumors have remained rumors.

Talk of trouble first surfaced in 2007, when the National Enquirer alleged that the power

couple had been fighting over Consuelos' alleged spending habits and flirtations with a co-star.

Unfortunately, the rumors did not stop there.

The following year, things got so heated that a spokesman had to release a statement after

the Enquirer alleged the couple was headed for divorce.

"There is no truth to the story.

Their marriage continues to be quite healthy, and the National Enquirer should be ashamed

for fabricating such an untruthful story."

A decade later, this unique couple is still going strong ...

"I would never get remarried, first of all."

"You don't..."

"No. I've had all the fun one man's gonna have!"

Booking accommodation on the fly - Tip Thursday 02 | Beginner Tip | How to travel better - Duration: 2:23.

Hey, hey! I'm Conor, the Language Tsar and welcome back to my channel! Welcome to

this video about how you should use technology to help you travel better so

let's get into the video!

So I've just come down to the seaport here in Odessa and behind me you can see

Hotel Odessa which is an iconic hotel here on this on the port in Odessa just in

front of the Potemkin steps that you can probably see across on other side and

that brings me to my first point about how technology has been changing the way

that we can travel and how much better it's gotten, how you need to ensure that

you make the most of it so when I go to book accommodation it's so quick

nowadays. I remember the times where you'd have to call hotels maybe when the

internet started and you could reserve on things like Booking.com or other

hotel websites it became a lot easier because then of course you could just

book it beforehand electronically, you didn't have to go to a travel agent but

now you can do all these things on your smartphone and for example I

normally stay in apartments so ... it isn\t always with Airbnb but Airbnb is one

of the kind of most popular services, it's also international so you know that you

can in most countries you can find decent apartments by using the apps

and sometimes I've really been getting on my accommodation had 2% battery and

bam, reserved a great location and accommodation in my next destination

because it's so seamless you can do it you know by credit card straight away so

you really need to look at using your smartphone in order to book

accommodation. Of course you can see where the accommodation is located, the

apartment or the hotel, the rooms everything get all those details it's

all pretty much self-explanatory and that's one of the big things that you

need to take advantage of.

Fatal French Alps Bus Crash Caused by Brake Fade—Crash Analysis Smart - Duration: 7:58.

Hi there smart drivers. Rick with Smart dDrive Test talking to you today about a

down hill bus crash that happened in the French Alps in 2013 and give you reasons

why that bus crash occurred. And it's not the reasons that were stated in the

newspaper. Another video in the crash analysis smart series.

Stick around we'll be right back with that information.

[INTRO & MUSIC]

Hi there smart drivers. Welcome back. Rick with Smart Drive Test talking to you today

about a down hill bus crash and giving you reasons why that bus crash occurred.

I was speaking with a colleague of mine from the UK and she mentioned this bus

crash that had occurred in April 2013. and that the reported causes of the

crash had been the brakes had failed. And I said no, if they were air brakes they

probably did not fail. And I've talked about in other videos that there is only

one failing of air brake systems and that is brake fade but it's not just air

brake systems it's also hydraulic braking systems that will experience

brake fade if you overuse and overheat the brakes they are prone to failure now

just before we started here if you're new to smart drive test it helps new

drivers get a license regardless of a class of license with its truck bus or

car as well we had helped veteran drivers Jermaine crash free and CDL

drivers to start a career as a truck or bus driver so be sure to hit that

subscribe button as well hit that belt that way get instant notification when I

get the videos up for you so what happened in 2013 the boss came down the

hill on the French Alps the driver lost the brakes experiencing brake fade and

made the heroic choice to drive the bus into a cliff and actually bring it to a

stop and heroically saved most of the passengers on the vehicle are on the bus

only about four of the passengers only were seriously injured but did survive

the crash only the drivers died experts investigated the bus crash and indicated

that the hydraulic drive line retarder had been faulty and that was what caused

the brakes to fail overall now a couple of other pieces that need to be

considered in terms of the bus coming down the hill first of all the bus had a

trailer on it and for those of yous are in North America or have seen buses

before that have luggage trailers on them these luggage trailers are fairly

heavy I would guess that they probably weigh in the area of two or three

thousand pounds so that's one of the other factors is that trailer pushing

that down the hill and there's no indication

that they check the trailer brakes to see if the trailer brakes were working

and that information is just not available as well the hydraulic

driveline retarder the way that these hydraulic drive lines through tires work

is essentially a fan inside a container and they put oil into it and then the

fan turns and forces the oil out through smaller holes and that's a simplistic

version of a hydraulic driveline retarder now essentially what happens is

is it creates back pressure and slow with the vehicle now experts say that

the electronic or the hydraulic driveline retarder was faulty but the

other thing that happened was is because the driver overused the service brakes

it led to brake fade and what happens with brake fade is is that you put too

much heat to the brakes and if they're drum brakes the drum will expand away

from the shoe and eventually what happens is the brakes won't work anymore

now if you have disc brakes and you put too much heat to disparate switch it is

possible in a large commercial vehicle and this is why that they're not

widespread in large commercial vehicles is essentially the whole thing will just

sort of melt and fail and you'll get brake fade and lose your brakes and this

is essentially what happened with the driver now part of the problem with this

is training on part of the driver that the company or the system in Europe does

not train drivers to understand brake fade in that if you overuse the service

brakes the foot pedal on the bus eventually what's going to happen is

that the brakes are gonna overheat and you're not gonna have brakes even if the

auxilary braking system the hydraulic drive line retarded the electric drive

line retarder exhaust brake or engine brake whatever that vehicle is a quick

equipped with and the reason that most of these coaches are equipped with

hydraulic driveline retarders is because they're quiet if that wasn't working and

the driver would have known that because it wasn't slowing the vehicle down or

holding the vehicle back as well the trailer brakes where the trailer brakes

working how much weight was in that trailer and as I said and this is

pertinent for drivers who have pickup trucks and hauling recreational trailers

under boat trailers those types and you're operating in mountainous

areas you need to know that you can experience brake fade my little Honda

CRV pulling that Boulder trailer that I have there only weighs about a thousand

pounds that come down through the mountains there and it started to

experience brake fade because I'm only relying on the vehicles on the on the

cars brakes to slow down the trailer because the trailers too small it

doesn't have electric brakes or air brakes on it and a lot of these bigger

trailers will have electric brakes or they'll have what's called surge brakes

where there's a spring mechanism in the tongue of the trailer that when it moves

forward it surges and creates an energy source to power brakes on the trailer

they're not very common but they are one of the other ways that traders are

slowed down so there's a couple of videos here on the channel how to look

at those downhill braking I'll put a card up in the corner for you also put a

card up from the corner for you on brake fade and how to identify brake fade and

how to downhill brake correctly and for those of you going for a CDL license

make sure that you pay attention to downhill braking and get that dialed in

correctly because if you do get in the right gear in the engine retarder or the

exhilarate braking system is working properly you're gonna be able to go down

the hill with very little use of the service brakes and you're not gonna

overheat the brakes and experience brake fade unfortunately that's what happened

with this driver in the French Alps is from the information that I can gather

the vehicle experience brake fade and unfortunately it it ended tragically

with the death of the driver question for my smart drivers are you driving a

vehicle that you experienced brake fade on a downhill brake leave a comment down

in the comment section there all of that helps out the new drivers and veteran

drivers alike who are working to stay crash free if you like what you see here

share subscribe leave a comment down in the comment section as well if that

thumbs-up on head over to the smart drive test website over there is a

complete CDL airbrakes course it's a course for new drivers working towards

becoming a truck or bus driver and it guarantees that you will pass your air

brakes first time air brakes is the most technical course in the

list of courses for new drivers getting a CDL license and it is probably the

most technical and some drivers unfortunately are not successful on that

course because of the terminology and other things from whatnot and there is a

glossary of terms and valves found on the seat on the air brake system whether

it's a bus or truck and all that information will ensure that you're

successful and if you're not successful within 60 days and you've completed the

course we'll give you your money back so head over there and buy that course I'm

Rick with smart drive test thanks very much for watching good luck on your road

test and remember pick the best answer not necessarily the right answer have a

great day

Susan Rice Memo Implicates Obama, the DOJ and FBI in Spying on O - Duration: 2:36.

Susan Rice Memo Implicates Obama, the DOJ and FBI in Spying on Opposition Candidate

Trump Using Dirty FISA Warrants

Senate Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley uncovered an unusual email former National Security

Advisor Susan Rice sent herself on January 20th 2017Donald Trumps Inauguration

Day.

Rice wrote the email to herself on her last day in office to document a January 5, 2017

Oval Office meeting between President Obama, former FBI Director James Comey and former

Deputy Attorney General Sally Yates regarding the spying operation on Donald Trump.

The Obama administration used dirty FISA warrants based on DNC opposition research to spy on

the Republican candidate and his entire team during the 2016 election and transition period.

The opposition research dossier was a crazy document based on complete lies fed to the

DNC by Russian spies.

And the Obama administration were all in on this criminal activity.

And Trump found out about this criminal activity after his inauguration.

Catherine Herridge from FOX News reported:

Why would she make that kind of claim about the president and his instructions that they

follow standard procedure when now all the evidence suggests that standard procedures

were not followed in this case It goes to the question to the extent to which the

past administration was aware of the Russia intelligence investigation that was being

run by the FBI.

Remember this was an investigation that was so closely held that it was not briefed to

the senior congressional leadership gang of eight.

The reason Congressional leaders were not aware of this Obama investigation is because

they knew it was illegal.

They thought they would never get caught.

Beloved Actor Bill Murray Has A Few Things To Say About Democrats The Left Is Fuming. - Duration: 4:51.

Beloved Actor Bill Murray Has A Few Things To Say About Democrats The Left Is Fuming.

While most of Hollywood is rushing to defend Democrats and their toxic ideas, Bill Murray

has a few things to say.

His remarks took everybody by surprise.

Liberals are reeling from his truth bombs.

For decades the left has counted on Hollywood for support and promotion.

Democratic politicians often benefit from celebrity endorsements.

Every election, famous actors, musicians, and producers throw their weight and money

at the most liberal candidate.

Since the 2016 election, Hollywood celebrities have not shut up about politics.

These rich, entitled elitists have the audacity to scold America for voting for Donald Trump.

After polluting our movie theaters with all kinds of immorality, they want us to believe

they are the moral conscience of our society.

As you can expect, these actors have alienated millions of Americans.

Longtime fans are now enemies.

And, it's all because we are sick of Hollywood's arrogance.

But, one beloved actor and comedian is singing a different tune.

Bill Murray recently spoke about the current political climate.

Breaking from his colleagues, he actually praised the GOP tax cuts, calling them a good

thing.

During an interview with CNBC's "Squawk Box," Murray likened the Trump administration's

tax overhaul to that of a "high tide raising all boats," and said he believes it has

made things "easier" at least for the time being.

[Source: Fox News]

"I think certainly the change in the tax laws is a great thing for the corporations,

it is a fantastic thing," Murray told CNBC.

"I don't pretend to understand what that will mean in the future in terms of the economy

or what the budget will have to do to take care of what people call entitlements.

That may or may not work, and I don't know.

But, I think in the first step it's made things easier."

You'll remember what other celebrities were saying about the tax cuts.

They claimed they would actually hurt everyday Americans.

Some were parroting the Democrats, calling the cuts "Armageddon."

Rosie O'Donnell actually tried to bribe two Republican Senators, offering them $2

million if they voted no.

But, we all knew the truth.

The tax cuts are a good thing.

Bill Murray seems to be the only Hollywood actor willing to admit that.

Millions of Americans have already seen their pay go up.

That's not even including the bonuses and other benefits numerous companies have offered.

Murray's comments are a break from the lockstep narrative all liberals seem to be preaching.

Unlike most of the con artists in La, La Land, Murray is willing to express his own opinion.

But, what he went on to say about Democrats has liberals roasting in their shoes.

"He says, 'No, no I just think the way the Democrats handle things is poor, where

they try to pick out little pieces of a population, oh well we represent the Hispanics, we represent

the LGBT or something,'" Murray told CNBC.

The 67-year-old comedian expressed how politicians play identity politics, and called out Democrats

for "not speaking to everyone at once."

[Source: Fox News]

"There's almost a resentment that somehow you're separated, again, by a politician

'You're my people.

I'm in control of you, I represent you.'

Instead of thinking that each citizen has a right to be respected as a citizen first,

under the laws of the country," Murray said.

Bill Murray hits the nail right on the head.

In just a few short comments, he exposed the entire scheme of the left.

It's amazing how so few people can see it.

Democrats claim to want to help all Americans.

But, in reality, they are just interested in exploiting smaller groups.

Their identity politics are the real reason our country is so divided.

They have spent decades telling us we're different because of our race, gender, or

sexuality.

It takes a well-known actor to acknowledge this hypocrisy.

He's absolutely right.

Democrats want to separate us, generate resentment towards people who are different.

Republicans want to treat everyone equally, as citizens under the law.

But when they do that, they are branded racist, bigoted, or homophobic.

I wonder how many other celebrities if any will chime in.

What Murray said is no big secret.

Yet, the left tries to deny it.

They routinely play those games, separating and manipulating Americans.

Hey, if Peter Venkman can see it, so can everyone else.

what do you think about this?

South Africa's President Jacob Zuma resigns - Duration: 0:53.

"The A.N.C. should never be divided in my name."

"I have, therefore, come to the decision to resign as president of the republic with immediate effect."

Once an anti-apartheid hero who served time alongside Nelson Mandela, Zuma's nearly nine

years in power have been mired with corruption and misconduct allegations.

But rival party leadership, not those accusations, ultimately led to his ousting.

Zuma's party, the African National Congress, moved to push him out of power by setting

Wednesday as the deadline for him to resign.

If he had refused, the party would have backed an opposition no-confidence motion Thursday.

Why Are Human Breasts So Big - Duration: 4:00.

(bright music)

- [Narrator] Breasts come in different shapes and sizes,

but there's one thing they all have in common.

They are unique to humans.

More than 5,000 mammalian species inhabit this planet,

yet homo sapiens are the only life forms

with permanent breasts.

Some may call this human anomaly sexy,

but it also begs the question,

why are human breasts so big,

and were they an evolutionary mistake?

(text clicking)

Every other mammal develops temporary breasts

during ovulation and, or nursing.

Basically their purpose is to produce milk,

so once the milk is gone, the breasts disappear.

But this isn't the case for female humans

whose breasts form during puberty, not pregnancy.

So at some point in our evolution, something changed.

But what?

For example, in 1987, biologist Tim Caro explored

seven existing theories on this subject.

One was that breasts allowed mothers

to nurse newborns from their hip,

giving them more mobility to multitask.

But it doesn't explain why breasts stick around

after the nursing stage is over.

Perhaps the most popular idea was first proposed

by Charles Darwin and later explored by zoologist,

Desmond Morris, in his 1967 book, The Naked Ape.

In it, Morris suggests that breasts evolved

as a sex symbol, to replace the swelling rear end

of other female primates during ovulation.

Once our ancestors starting walking upright,

the sexual organs were no longer as obvious to spot,

so males had no way of knowing

when a female was sexually mature,

and breasts may have formed as a result.

This theory would at least explain

why women's chests swell during puberty,

but it still can't explain why they

stick around after menopause.

Let's take a closer look at the human breast.

The big difference is that it contains more fat

than other female mammals.

The fat fills out the breast tissue,

giving it shape, sort of like milk, but permanent.

Human breasts can become so large

it can cause back and chest pain.

This is why many women get breast reductions.

More than 61,000 received a breast reduction

in 2016, in the US alone.

But breasts aren't only uncomfortable for some,

they can also be deadly.

Breast cancer is the number one cause

of cancer related deaths in women, world wide.

It effects roughly one and a half million women each year

and it killed 570,000 of them in 2015.

Yet as far as scientists can tell,

breast cancer is not common among other primates.

This could be because the risk of cancer increases with age,

and other primates don't live long enough

to develop breast cancer, or perhaps,

it could have something to do

with the permanent breast tissue itself.

- [Dr. Callahan] Cancer is more common

in rapidly dividing tissue.

Every time cells are born and die,

there is an opportunity within the cell cycle

to make mistakes in repairing DNA

and essentially, a cell with mistakes

can become a cancerous cell.

Breast tissue divides at a rapid pace,

so there's a greater opportunity to make mistakes.

- [Narrator] That may explain why removing both breasts

reduces a woman's risk of breast cancer by 95%.

Of course breasts have established their place

in human culture and society.

They can make women feel wanted, liberated, or empowered.

And they've helped build entire empires

based simply on their power to attract.

It looks like, for better or worse,

human breasts are here to stay.

Scientists rush to Antarctica to study an area that hasn't seen - Duration: 4:21.

Scientists rush to Antarctica to study an area that hasnt seen sunlight for 120,000

years

A hidden world that has been trapped under ice for 120,000 years going to finally be

explored by scientists.

There is a hidden ecosystem in the Antarctic that no one really knows anything about.

The unknown realm has been cut off from any light for around 120,000 years, and scientists

have no idea what might lie under the dark and freezing water.

Now it looks like the wait is over as a team of scientists will be exploring the marine

ecosystem that lies under the Antarctic ice shelf after a huge iceberg broke free in July

last year.

Iceberg the Size Of Delaware Weighed 1 Trillion Tonnes

The iceberg is said to be about the size of Delaware and was given the name A-68 and is

estimated to weigh about 1 trillion tonnes.

In the 1960s a small crack appeared on the Larsen C ice shelf, and this was the start

of the icebergs exit from the shelf.

The rift slowly widened until the crack picked up the pace in 2016 and 2017.

In July it broke free and drifted into the Southern Ocean.

When the ice block moved there was a huge watery expanse of more than 2,239 square miles

that had not seen daylight before, and now scientists are rushing to get here to explore

the frigid waters to find out if they contain any life before the transformation in the

ecosystem of the Antarctic changes the undisturbed existence.

Katrin Linse, the BAS marine biologist, said that they do not know anything about it as

ice has covered it several hundred meters in thickness.

She went on to say that it was important that they get there before the environment alters

due to sunlight now being able to enter the water and any new species down there start

to colonize.

Scientists from 9 Research Institutions Meeting At Falkland Islands

Linse, along with other researchers, is making their way to the Falkland Islands and will

join up with scientists from 9 different research institutions later on this month onboard the

research ship the RRS James Clark Ross.

They will make use of satellite monitoring to steer through the waters infused with ice

to reach the remote destination.

The BAS science director, David Vaughan, said that the researchers needed to be bold.

He went on to say that Larsen C is a long way to the south and in the region, there

is plenty of ice.

However, the finding is important to science, and so the researchers will do their best

to get where they are needed.

The voyage should take around three weeks, and during that time they plan on collecting

microbes, sediments, water samples and seafloor animals along with documenting any evidence

of new birds and marine mammals that could have migrated.

Researchers Have No Idea What to Expect However, the team has no idea of what to expect.

Linse said that they were traveling to a region where they have no idea what they will find,

and this is an exciting time.

Linse went on to say that they expect to come across animals that are like the ones found

in extreme deep seas that have to rely on greed food as there has not been any phytoplankton

in the sea above them.

One thing that is known is that it is vital to the researchers to make the most of the

opportunity while they can as often windows such as this one can take 100,000 years to

finally open.

Julian Gutt, a marine ecologist from the Alfred Wegener Institute for Polar and Marine Research

in Germany, is going to be participating in the voyage.

He said that he could not think of a more dramatic move in environmental conditions

in any of Earths ecosystem.

He and his odd little friends are forming some sort of league.

You better not be wasting my time.

No. I have too much to live for and more important things to do.

We have to level the playing field, Mr. Wilson.

To put it plainly

shouldn't we have a league of our own?

How the 49ers Fare Against the NFC West (Pre-Draft, 2018) - Duration: 8:03.

Ayo! It's Bryan here. Today, going to be talking about the San Francisco 49ers.

Going to be talking about the NFC West and how the 49ers stand against the NFC West as

of this video, as of this moment, pre-draft, pre-offseason, everything.

So let's just dive into it. Now the NFC West consists of the Seattle Seahawks, Arizona

Cardinals, LA Rams. Pretty tough division I would say kind of. The last couple of

years, it's been up and down, up and down, up and down with Jim Harbaugh, Pete

Carroll a couple years ago. That was one of the best divisions in the NFL.

Now, it's in the slump a little bit. The Rams are pretty much dominating this whole

division I would say. Arizona, Seattle they had a down here a little bit.

San Francisco had a down here as well, but had a great end of the season with

Jimmy Garoppolo. I think we all know that. That's probably the best time to talk

about the 49ers is the last five games of the season. Fantastic, but don't want

to get into that. I talked about that many times. So I'll be retreading everything.

What do I feel about the NFC West? How do the 49ers fare? I would say

right now as the rosters are not constructed completely. I don't know if I

want to take into consideration free agency and everyone that's going to be leaving,

going to be coming in, but right now, looking at the roster, I think the 49ers fare

pretty well and yes. We all know the Reuben Foster incident. I don't want to

make too much of it. I already talked about with two different videos now. So if you

want to watch it, you can watch it in the link in description and the card section

on Reuben Foster getting arrested and what have you. I think we still fare well

even without Reuben Foster. Maybe defensively, they're going to take a big hit

assuming that he gets suspended or something like that. If he's still on the team.

I don't know what the decision is yet for Shanahan and Lynch or if he gets

cut by the 49ers just completely outright, but assuming that he's going to

stay with the team I guess. I don't know and he's going to be suspended, then I still

think they're going to be an okay shape because they have free agency to rely on.

They have the draft as well. They have a lot of good things going on in their favor.

Offensively, I'm not really concerned the most because we got the

boy, Jimmy Garoppolo to handle this offense with a pretty good talented team

I would say. Carlos Hyde, I don't know if he's a free agent, if he's going to sign

with the 49ers in this offseason. Maybe they can. They can afford that, even

though Jimmy Garoppolo is on a really, really big deal, but at the same time, they still

have a lot of cap money. They have the second most after the Garoppolo signing under

the Cleveland Browns. A good thing for the 49ers to have. Everyone else in the

NFC West. The Rams? They're probably going to be good because they got Sean

McVay, Jared Goff. They had a sensational season I would say.

Todd Gurley was just a freaking beast as well. Defensively, they were

all right with Wade Phillips. Aaron Donald? My gosh, that defensive line with

Aaron Donald. That guy was pretty damn good. Overall, I think the Rams are going to

be all right. They're going to be consistently good. Hopefully they're just

not a one hit wonder. Well, I hope they're a one hit wonder for the 49ers, but at

the same time, I like to see the Rams because I do have a little bit of love

for the Rams because I used to live in the LA area kind of. Orange County, but still counts.

I know it's 30 minutes away, but still counts that I lived near LA, but whatever.

The Arizona Cardinals, they had gone through a lot of changes.

Carson Palmer retired. Steve Wilks is the new head coach of the Arizona Cardinals.

If you don't know, he's the defensive coordinator for the Carolina Panthers

last season. Had a pretty damn good stint there as the defensive coordinator for

the Panthers and what have you. They're going through a lot of wholesale changes.

It's going to be hard for Steve Wilks to find a quarterback, but he has a pretty

good GM in Steve Keim. I think that's not a bad thing to have. He's been there for

a while. So he knows what to see in the Arizona Cardinals, but I think they're going to

be struggling just a little bit. Just like last year.

I mean, Adrian Peterson. He got lucky against the 49ers to be honest with you.

I think he rushed for like 157, 159 yards? I forgot exactly. I remember that game vividly.

That was just a one hit wonder performance right there because after

that, he never had a good performance in the end, except the game against Tampa

Bay in a couple weeks later during the season, but other than that, I feel like

Adrian Peterson offensively got really lucky against the 49ers because

they were still trying to find themselves. Don't want to get in a rant. I love

Adrian Peterson, but I feel like it's almost the end of the career of his. Oh

my gosh. It's kind of sucks to say that. Remember his years in Minnesota, freaking beast.

Don't want to get into tangent there, a good one for Adrian Peterson.

Want to talk about the Arizona Cardinals even more. Defensively, they're a pretty

damn good team and Steve Wilks is inheriting a good defense I would say

with Chandler Jones on the EDGE. You got Justin Bethel/Patrick Peterson.

One of the best corners in the game, especially Patrick Peterson and that

guy's a freaking beast. I think defensively, they'll be good, but

offensively, I think they'll be struggling big time even with Larry

Fitzgerald, which he is still a beast I would say. That's my take on that.

Seattle Seahawks? Mmm... They're falling off a cliff a little bit. They missed the

playoffs for the first time since 2011 when Jim Harbaugh was there for his

first season. So that's been a long time, but still an impressive team. Still

talented team as well. Russell Wilson trying his damn best to

play offense with a terrible offensive line. Jimmy Graham's a pending free agent.

I don't know if I want the 49ers to get him, but we'll see what happens.

Wide receivers, eh. They're kind of okay. Doug Baldwin, Tyler Lockett. I do like Tyler

Lockett. I like him as a returner. He's a pretty damn

good little guy. Defensively, they're aging I would say. They're having some rifts

if you want to call it a rift. Earl Thomas going to the Dallas Cowboys I think

weeks ago at the end of the season. Kam Chancellor has a neck injury. I don't

know if he's even going to be playing football again, but I'm going to assume he's

going to play football because I think he's going to be healthy and hopefully he can

heal up from that injury because that's a terrible injury. Richard Sherman, I know

everyone hates Richard Sherman in San Francisco, but I like his play. He's a

pretty damn good corner I would say. He has an achilles injury. That's going to be

hard to come back from to be honest with you because once you tear that achilles,

man you'll never be the same person ever again. An ACL injury is bad, but achilles

is worse in my opinion. Just look at Kobe Bryant when he tore his achilles.

He was never the same person again, although that was a late age, what,

around age 33-34 he tore his achilles? Richard Sherman is still young. So he

come back from this, but I think he'll lose a step big time in my opinion after

tearing his achilles, which is really unfortunate. Such a damn good player,

but I can't really do anything. The injury gods do what they want. Seattle I

think defensively, they'll still be alright. Also Bobby Wagner, best linebacker

in the game. I was hoping Reuben Foster could be like Bobby Wagner and Luke

Kuechly from Carolina. He still can for the 49ers if he's still on this team or

anywhere else. I don't know what the thing is going on with them. I still

think Reuben Foster can still be a beast and overcome this whole domestic abuse,

violence whatever you want to call it incident that happened on Sunday.

Defensively, they're still good in my opinion, although they're aging and I

don't know if they're going to be the same defense as they were with the 2013

Super Bowl year. We'll see what happens. Offensively, they got to find an

offensive lineman. It sucks for Wilson to run around for his whole life and trying

to do something and he's still able to do something, but he could do a lot

better if he had an offensive line, which the Seattle Seahawks had neglected to

find out or what have you. I don't know what's going on with them and not

finding an offensive lineman for Russell Wilson. They're kind of screwing him there

a little bit. Pete Carroll, I don't know if he's losing the locker room a little

bit, but I feel like Seattle's trending down just a little bit. I wouldn't say a lot.

I know they didn't make the playoffs last year. I would say just a little bit

to the fact that I think the 49ers can pass him this year my opinion and in the

future as well because the 49ers look loaded for the future, while Seattle

is not looking pretty good in the future I would say. So overall, if I had to put a

placement for the San Francisco 49ers in terms of the NFC West, I would put

them at second place to be honest with you under the LA Rams. Maybe you guys

would put them in first place. Jump into conclusions, but I don't want to get too

caught up in the moment. Winning five games in a row.

I know that's a very, very good thing, but at the same time, oh. Hopefully, they can

keep it up, which I think they can keep it up, but I think the Rams are just a

little bit better, tad bit better than the 49ers. I think the 49ers could have

beat the Rams twice I would say. I know they almost beat the Rams in the

Thursday Night game with Brian Hoyer as the quarterback and they destroyed

the Rams the last week, but Jared Goff and Todd Gurley weren't playing, but I

still think they would have won the game in my opinion had Jared Goff and Todd

Gurley been playing. It's going to be a really close division. I know this is

really early to say, but I think the 49ers can make the playoffs and maybe

compete with the Rams for the title division or whatever you want to

call it. Arizona, I don't believe in them with no quarterback and Steve Wilks as

a rookie head coach, even though I think he could be a great head coach, but I

just think his first year, he might be struggling in my opinion. Seattle, I think

they're declined just a little bit I think the 49ers can pass them this

year in my opinion. So yeah, that's going to be pretty much it you guys. I have the

49ers in a pretty damn good shape for the 2018 season. The Rams, they're going to

be up there as well. It's going to be fun to see Kyle Shanahan versus Sean McVay,

but I think overall, the 49ers are running up, up, up, but I think the Rams

are just a little bit better. Just a little bit okay? Just a little bit people.

Don't try to put words in my mouth all right. I think the Rams are just a

little bit better. Please let me know what do you guys think about the 49ers

right now and they're standing in the NFC West. Is it good? Is it bad? What place

would you put them right now? First, second, third or last place? Put it down
