South Korea's Ko Jin-young makes history as first player to win LPGA debut in 67 years - Duration: 1:24.

Ko Jin-young has added her name to the long list of incredibly talented Korean players

on the L-P-G-A tour.

Ko fended off a determined charge from another Korean golfer to win the Women's Australian

Open and capture a piece of tour history.

Park So-yun reports.

Twenty-two-year-old Ko Jin-young made history on Sunday in Australia, becoming the first

player in 67 years to win her debut LPGA tournament.

Beverly Hanson was the only other player to do it in 1951 at the Eastern Open.

Ko held her nerve, shooting a three-under 69 in the final round at the Kooyonga Golf

Club in Adelaide.

Ko fired a total 14-under 274 at the ISPS Handa Women's Australian Open, beating fellow

South Korean Choi Hye-jin by three strokes.

Ko was guaranteed LPGA privileges after she won the LPGA KEB Hana Bank Championship last

October.

When asked about her goals for the season, Ko said she hopes to earn Rookie of the Year

honors.

She's already a star in South Korea, having won ten times on the Korean LPGA tour, with

a rank of 20, and she's posed to shoot up the list when the newest world rankings are

released.

Ko's victory down under gives her a strong head start in the race for the Rookie of the

Year -- the last three of whom have all been South Koreans.

Park So-yun, Arirang News.

Economic Update: Capitalism's Excuse: Blame Government [S7 E7] - Duration: 29:10.

welcome friends to another edition of economic update weekly program devoted

to the economic dimensions of our lives incomes debts jobs for ourselves for us

in the future for our children I'm your host Richard Wolff I've been a

professor of economics all my adult life and my hope is that that prepared me

well to present to you each week this analysis of some of the major events in

the economic lives we lead I want to begin this program by thanking various

hosts that I have visited during the month of February 2018 I want to start

with the Chapo Trap House they did a really wonderful interview that was

lively and interesting and for those of you who know the important work that

they do chapo traphouse take a look you might

find the interview they did with us as exciting and interesting as we found it

I also want to thank the people in praxis peace a local group in Sonoma

California on the other side of the country and they were our hosts when we

spoke dr. Harriet fraud who often appears on this program and myself at

the Sonoma Community Center and finally I want to thank KPFA the Pacifica

station in the bay area of California where I returned in order to do the

annual fundraiser at the First Congregational Church in Berkeley as I

have done every year for the last quite a few it's a wonderful experience for me

to meet the very people that I try to reach the people who hear me on the

radio and then want to kind of have a in-person and close-up interaction just

want to let you know it's as interesting and exciting to me as it is I hope to

all of you so let's jump into the economic updates

for our time you must have noticed as I have that every time the capitalist

political economy that we live in an enterprise driven economic system of

stores factories and offices on the one hand and the government which is

dependent on those enterprises from much of its revenue and for the economy to

keep going without which there wouldn't be much toleration for the political

system either and you must have noticed as I have that when that economic system

breaks down the place where almost everyone turns real quickly to solve the

problem is to the government that's what happened in the 1930s when we took a

real dive it's what happened again in the bailouts that came right after the

crash of 2008 so isn't it interesting that the very corporate leaders who turn

to the government to save them when their system doesn't work turn around

and blame the government as if it were the source of all the problems rather

than then of course it's very clever right because if we are all afflicted by

unemployment and all the difficulties of a capitalist system it would be

dangerous for the people who actually run it if they were the targets of our

upset so it's important to have a scapegoat to make somebody else do it

and the government has been the scapegoat of choice for right-wingers

and for people who love capitalism and cannot get their heads around the idea

that it's a system with a lot of problems nothing illustrates this more

than the fishing industry that's right something we don't talk about very often

but we need to fishing is a dying industry not long ago we out fished

fresh water but now we have done what a few years ago would have been thought

impossible we have literally destroyed ocean

fishing as well we've over fished we fished in unsustainable ways

why because fishing companies here we go now have profit as the bottom line

fishing companies are competing with one another all the time it makes no sense

for one fishing company to hold back on grabbing all the fish it can because if

it does it only creates the business for a competitor so in that kind of a

situation if you let the private enterprise system go it will do what it

has now done fished out the oceans made fish difficult made fish orphan scarce

made fish too expensive that excuse me for many people to afford and to

literally make them disappear sorry folks what we have is a failure to use

the government to control the failure of the private fishing industry it's a

cautionary tale about how capitalism works

sorry the second economic update for today has to do with malls that's right

those either beautiful or hideous collections of stores that we all know

about especially here in the United States and as I have been telling you

in recent broadcasts huge numbers thousands of malls are empty now weeds

are growing up through the asphalt of the parking lot people don't go anymore

other uses are being examined for the empty stores that haven't been able to

find a tenant for years now but I was interested to learn in a recent

Bloomberg story that some malls are doing just fine I want to mention some

of them to you the Americana Manhasset wealthy north

sure of New York's Long Island the Forum Shops at Caesars in Las Vegas the Grove

mall in Los Angeles and perhaps the most elegant of them all the Bal Harbour

shops in Bal Harbour Florida they're doing great they're expanding they're

cramming more stores into their space they're renovating to make it even more

elegant and attractive to consumers and local wealthy people what's remarkable

is you often don't have to go more than oh a 10-minute Drive from one of these

malls to see one of the other kind of malls Bal Harbour it's literally the

mall at 160 third Street just up the road which can show you the abandoned

mall the dead mall in other words what we're seeing is a mirror to our economy

a tiny number of high paid high priced malls doing very well in an economy that

has made the rich richer and the vast majority of malls that serve the rest of

us are dying as I say it's a mirror but it's a mirror with a certain poetic way

of teaching us something and to show you how profound the mirror is let me tell

you about the most recent expansion of the Bal Harbour shops mall it turns out

that right behind the mall was a 70 year old Congregational Church right behind

the parking lot it had a famous large sign called worship this Sunday the sign

for the church by the sea as it was called Wow recent months the mall

purchased the church purchased the land on which the church sits

and has torn down the church to make room for more wealthy expenditures by

the wealthy people who enjoy the wealthy Bal Harbour shops mall there's something

even more poetic about the elimination of a church so that the wealthy can have

yet more in the way of an expensive mall let's go to the other end of the

spectrum for our third economic update and here I'm indebted to Matt bruenig of

the People's Policy Project they do interesting economic analysis there and

I found this one particularly interesting using the survey of Consumer

Finances a very important government document giving data about our economy

Matt booting calculated young families he took a look at families with heads of

the family below the age of 35 years and he said I want to look at the young

people of America and ask what their situation is how much wealth do they

have what's their situation what can we say about them as a particular group and

what he found was so arresting for me that I want to share it with you he

looked into the net worth of these families the net worth basically means

you add up the assets that such families have and you subtract from that the

debts they have to see how much their net worth is what they own less what

they owe and he made a further decision he excluded vehicles because vehicles

lose their value very quickly and so really aren't part of what you ought to

think of as a family's wealth okay 2016 what was the net worth the median net

worth of young families families below 35 years of age for the head of the

family well as I say this blew my mind median means 50% of the families have

more than this net worth I'm about to tell you about and 50% have less so a

median net worth of young families in America in 2016 not counting their

vehicles was here we go one thousand two hundred and fifty dollars that's what

the meaty half the young families of America have less than one thousand two

hundred and fifty dollars what does that mean it means that young people have no

fall back nothing to see them through an unexpected expense a sick child a lost

job a divorce you name it all the things that life can throw at you half the

young families have twelve hundred and fifty dollars or less to cope with all

of that nothing better gets across the lack of a recovery in the United States

since 2008 or the failure of a capitalist economic system to provide

for the young people that are going to be our future and the children they're

bringing into the world than to tell us as mr. Browning's work has done what

they're living on I've also told you in past broadcasts about the bizarre

decisions in the state of Kansas where they cut taxes on business drastically

they cut taxes on the rich drastically and promised the people of Kansas the

Republican governor did mr. Brownback that by doing this cutting of taxes they

would stimulate the economy of Kansas and provide lots of more jobs and with

the people having more jobs they'd pay more taxes and the

government would be in great shape those were the promises none of that came to

pass Kansas did not undo its unemployment that has had a higher

unemployment than most other states in the United States none of the good

things happened I now want to tell you about a state really nearby Oklahoma

Oklahoma they like Kansas governed by a Republican conservative who cuts taxes

and here are some of the consequences of the cut taxes by the way cut taxes

particularly for the fracking companies the oil and gas companies that are the

only part of the Oklahoma economy not in deep trouble and even they have had a

rough few years Oklahoma has taken things to a stage that I need to talk to

you about because it is so severe here's the first thing in many parts of the

city of the state of Oklahoma they have cut the length of the school

week from five days to four the weekend in these places continues through Monday

why because they don't have enough money they say to pay school teachers and the

salaries they offer among the lowest in the United States very few states offer

as little as Oklahoma the only perks they can give to their teachers for

paying them so little is to give them a day off let me take that a little bit

further with you if you don't mind what do the teachers do on the Monday they

don't have to go to school it turns out they have jobs to fill in their income

half of them roughly work at Walmart's and the other half in local restaurants

oh and what happens to the families whose kids don't go to school on Monday

well they just have to make do in whatever way they can

did that solve the state's problem no it turns out it didn't it turns out that

even if you don't make someone work on Monday giving them a chance to go get

paid at Walmart which has some of the lowest pay scales in the United States

or in a local restaurant and that doesn't pay well most of the time either

particularly in Midwestern states like Oklahoma that you're still paying your

teachers even with that way too little and guess what which should surprise

nobody teachers who aren't in overabundance in America don't want to

teach in Oklahoma so they have a shortage despite having shortened the

work week for the school kids and the teachers and how have they handled that

you'll love this I'll have to read it to you the shortage of teachers in the

school districts have found here we go now 1,850 adults without the necessary

qualifications who haven't been given emergency certifications and placed in

classrooms penny RIS Lee the principal of an elementary school in Wagoner

Oklahoma said to the media this year.i emergency certified my secretary as an

economist I am required to teach in every University I've ever been that the

future and well-being of the American economy in the world depends above all

else on the quality and the quantity of educated young people that enter the

labor market for us to be responding to the current economic situation by

savagely cutting the quality and the quantity of teaching we do to our young

people is the equivalent in economics of shooting yourself in the foot it is

irrational it is damaging in a way that cannot be

repaired for the tens of thousands of young people in Oklahoma going through

this kind of experience it's actually a kind of a stunning demonstration and it

needs some explanation and here's how it works when the capitalist economic

system gets itself into difficulty with economic downturns of the sort for

example we had in 2008 and which are regular occurrences with a capitalist

economy something has to happen and what typically happens is that we turn to the

government as I pointed out earlier and we ask the government to help people out

as they suffer with unemployment with cut work weeks for their kids schools

and all the other outflow of economic troubles and then we often see Democrats

liberals come into office because they're the ones who push the government

should help out but of course the Republicans in the business community

don't want the government to do too much for fear that everybody will get the

idea hmm maybe we should have the government do more maybe the government

should prevent these collapses from happening in the first place so they

hold everything back so the Democrats who try to do something can't do very

much because they don't challenge the system they just try to get a few things

done they're held back and eventually people say gee these Democrats are not

doing enough for us and in their anger they go back to the Republicans great

say the Republicans the real problem is the government let us starve the Beast

let us cut the taxes on the government doesn't do all the bad things it does so

they cut the government which then what throws people back into suffering

deregulates what businesses can do leading us into the next economic

downturn will we repeat the whole game so we get a politics which is America

Oscillation recurring the Republicans for a while until they blow it up then

we give me the Democrats for a while until they can't deliver what it is they

promised then we angrily back to the Republicans that's all mr.

Trump is he's the latest wave in this oscillation and guess what they're

Democrats are doing waiting for him to cause so much difficulty so much

disruption so much suffering that there'll be a wave the other way in one

of the next elections we're not solving our problems this way we're just kicking

the can down the road as we oscillate back and forth before I continue I want

to remind you that we maintain two websites that we invite you to make use

of they're open 24/7 they have no charge attached to you're using them one is our

D wolf with two FS comm and the other one is democracy at work that's all one

word democracy at work dot info both of these websites allow you to communicate

to us and tell us what you like and don't like about this program both of

these websites allow you with a click of a mouse to follow us on Facebook Twitter

and Instagram and for those of you that listen to this program as a radio show

or a podcast if you're interested in seeing it as a television program we

invite you to go to patreon.com/scishow and comm slash economic update the name

of this program and you can see it as a television program we maintain and

update these websites there for you they're a way for you to partner with us

to share what we provide in the way of analysis and information with other

people and that's exactly what we try to do you can do that too and then we will

proceed and be twice as effective as we might otherwise be if we went separately

okay let me turn next to a place in the world that I go to nowadays because they

are crafting new initiatives and so once again I'm in Great Britain and once

again I want to talk to you about the British Labour Party they're sort of the

rough equivalent of the Democrats over there and this time I want to talk to

you about one of their leaders nothing who gets all the attention Jeremy Corbyn

but rather one of his close associates John McDonald he's announced a plan he

says that the people will be better served the British people with their

waters needs their energy needs their rail systems he proposes that these are

not working real well they're overpriced by the private companies that run them

they're not well-trained maintained sometimes not even safe and we can do

better than private capitalist enterprises what does he propose classic

and what's interesting is not that he proposes something new because this

isn't new but that it's becoming very popular in Britain which is why the

polls there show that if there were an election today the Labour Party would

win he proposes the reen a tional ization of water energy and rail in

Great Britain the government is going to take them over and he explains in public

speeches it will cost nothing here's how it works

right now he says the water company just to take them as an example a private

company borrows lots of money provides water to the British people and charges

the British people for the water enough money to pay the cost of delivering the

water to pay the cost of the money borrowed to do all of it the interest

charges and on top of that a profit distributed to the shareholders of the

water company says mr. McDonald if the government takes it over here's how

it'll do it the government will take over the enterprise and it will pay the

private companies in government bonds no cash a debt the government promises to

pay over five ten or fifteen years and then he points out we will immediately

be able to lower the price of water we deliver to every British home

why because we have to recover with the prices we charge what it costs to bring

the water like a private company what it costs to pay off the debt that the

government undertook to get the private water company into the government's

hands but we don't have to raise the price to pay anybody any dividends

shareholders because there aren't any so we can lower the problem we don't have

to charge as much as a private enterprise does because our job as the

government is to deliver the water not to make a profit in the way a private

enterprise does we won't have any shareholders to pay off the point is not

whether you agree or disagree the point is to understand this kind of thinking

as a solution to the problems of the British economy is becoming mainstream

again despite all the efforts all the efforts to demonize and dismiss this

approach this kind of thinking both in England and the United States for many

decades now the wind the economic and political wind is changing the final

economic update that we will have time for today has me listening closely to

the budget director for President Trump a man named Moe veiny some of you may

ever heard some of the things he says here's what he admitted over the last

few days publicly yes he said it's true we cut taxes dramatically trillion

dollars or more yes it's true he said on top of that we're spending more money

three four hundred billion more and yes he said if you put together a massive

tax card together with a massive increase in spending obviously the only

way the government can do that is if it borrows the money it's no longer raising

in taxes to spend even more than it was spending before and then he makes the

interesting admission that I want to make sure you all understand

speaking as if he were explaining this to children mr. Mulvaney says yes of

course if suddenly the government has to borrow of trillion dollars that it

didn't have to borrow before the tax cut that's gonna drive up interest rates

because the government's gonna have to persuade people to lend it money even

though the government is more in debt now than it has been for decades what is

mr. Mulvaney telling us he's telling us that we can expect to see now his words

interest rate spikes well folks there's the admission if the interest rates

spike up the cost of buying a home shoots up because that's what shapes a

mortgage the cost of buying a car shoots up because of the interest over the

years you take to pay off the car ditto for your credit card ditto for your

students college borrowing Wow turns out that cutting taxes for corporations in

the rich and spending more on the Defense Department is gonna walk you

right in your pocketbook that part was left out in all of the baits and all the

discussion mr. Mulvaney after the fact smilingly lets us know you live in a

system that doesn't work for you and part of my job is to make sure it

doesn't blow by you without your being aware of it we've reached the end of the

first half of this program thank you very much for listening please stay with

us as we move to a very interesting interview about a very important part of

the global economy stay right with us we'll be right back

Gratitud - 15/02/2018 - Duration: 8:56.

Gratitude

The main function of the relationship with horses is to have them feel they are respected, right?

Above all to have them feel they are respected.

My personal fulfillment with them is to feel united with them;

I am very grateful for being able to be here with them,

and the gratitude increases because we feel that they, too, are very grateful,

that they respond to this…, our action of love has an immediate response of gratitude from them, too.

And so we coexist in a simple way, just like that, with one another.

It is almost a privilege to be able to be with them in this way.

It is because they are animals, large animals

that humanity has used for heavy work, for fun, for racing.

So they already have a very bad feeling of being mistreated.

The process of bathing a horse is… it is simple.

First you have to know the horse

and know what kind of reaction he may have when he is…

when we are touching him, on his leg, on his more sensitive parts.

So, for example, this horse is a horse that can have a bath like this, almost loose, eating.

There are some that are a little frightened and have to be restrained.

Here you begin to wet them around the legs to begin, so that they don't…

don't feel shocked, right?

You thoroughly wet his whole body, use a special shampoo for horses,

and then you scrub thoroughly to remove the grease from the body, then you rinse him.

Sometimes you do this twice, you soap him twice, rinse him,

then after picking off the ticks,

brush him.

No need to dry him, because they are warm-blooded animals; they dry very quickly by themselves.

Ah! The tool is a brush, the common kind for washing clothes,

and then there are some, tools that are more specific, right?

This one here is made of iron; it scrapes; they have a hard hide;

it scrapes and eliminates all possibility of mites, of anything stuck to them.

Then there is a kind of squeegee, that you pass over him like this, and he gets nice and dry.

And there is an iron comb, right?

because the hair, his hair is very thick, the tail, the mane,

so an iron comb is used that will last, and disentangle.

This one is very tangled.

The task that I do in the Kingdom, besides bathing the horses,

is to maintain their grass; it is renewed, you know?

We mow the grass; we maintain the fences, and over time, the fences deteriorate

and we have to do maintenance.

There is more in the area of maintenance, besides baths.

The function we develop with them is to simply

let them be, be what they are, as creatures.

We do not expect anything from them, and we give our all for them,

all the conditions of hospitality, of feeding;

we do not get on them, we do not use them for anything;

we only give them all the conditions for them to live and to be happy and free.

My personal sensation is of gratitude.

Of being able to be…, to be together with them, to feel their presence, to give ourselves for them,

and see that they also respond to this giving. They show gratitude.

Photoshop: How to Create Striking Black and White Portraits from Photos - Duration: 5:53.

Hi.This is Marty from Blue Lightning TV.

I'm going to show you how to quickly create the look of powerful black and white, illustration-style

portraits from photos.

Make sure your image has the same height and resolution as mine, to ensure that your results

will look similar to mine.

You can do this while cropping your image.

Open your Crop Tool and Crop presets.

Click the "Width x Height x Resolution".

Clear the Width field and in the Height field, type in 870 "px" for pixels.

Make the Resolution: 150 pixels per inch.

Go to the middle of each of the 4 sides and drag the bounding box in or out until your

photo is ultimately cropped to your liking.

Then, click the check mark at the top to accept it.

To fit the entire image onto your canvas by pressing Ctrl or Cmd + 0.

Next, we'll separate our subject from its background by making a selection around the subject.

There are lots of ways to do this and I covered them in many of my tutorials.

For this example, I'll use the Quick Selection Tool with a Radius of 10 pixels.

I'll drag the tool over my subject to select it.

To remove areas outside my subject, I'll press and hold Alt or Option as I drag over those areas.

After you make your selection, to refine its edge, go to Select.

If you're using a Photoshop version earlier than CC 2015.5, click Refine Edge.

If you're using a later version, either click Select and Mask or if you prefer

to use Refine Edge, Shift-click Select and Mask.

Check "Smart Radius", which detects smooth and sharp edges.

Slide the Radius until you start seeing feathering of the soft edges.

Output it to "Layer Mask" and click OK.

We'll make a new layer below the active layer by Ctrl-clicking or Cmd-clicking the New Layer icon.

We'll fill the empty layer with white, but before we do, check your foreground and background colors.

If they're not black and white respectively, press "D" on your keyboard.

Since white is your background color, press Ctrl or Cmd + Delete.

We'll convert our layers into a Smart Object, so we can modify our image non-destructively,

as well as replace it with a different image without having to redo the effects.

To do this, Shift-click the top layer to make it active as well, and click the icon at the upper, right.

Click "Convert to Smart Object".

Make a copy of it by pressing Ctrl or Cmd + J. Click the Adjustment Layer icon and click "Black White".

Hide the middle layer temporarily and make the bottom layer active.

Go to Filter and Filter Gallery.

Open the Artistic folder and click "Paint Daubs".

Make the Brush Size: 1, the Sharpness: 40 and the Brush Type: Simple.

Make the middle layer visible and active.

Change its Blend Mode to "Linear Light".

We'll adjust its brightness by making the bottom layer active and clicking the Adjustment Layer icon.

Click "Levels".

If the Levels panel is being cut off at the bottom, just slide down the group of panels under it.

If your overall image is too light, drag the Input Shadow slider to the right.

Conversely, if your image is too dark, drag the Input Highlight slider to the left.

If you want to bring out the detail of some of the dark areas of your image like the gloves

of my subject, double-click any Smart Object to open its original image.

Open your Dodge Tool and press "x" on your keyboard to invert your foreground and background

colors to make white your foreground color.

When you use the Burn Tool, black should be your foreground color.

Open the Brush Picker.

You can adjust your brush's size by pressing the right or left bracket key on your keyboard

when the Dodge Tool is directly over your image.

Make the Hardness: 0%.

Choose "Highlights" for the Range and the Exposure is 100%.

Brush over the dark areas to bring out its detail.

Then, close the panel of the Smart Object.

This window will pop up.

Click "Yes" to save the changes.

As I toggle back and forth, you can see the difference.

This is Marty from Blue Lightning TV.

Thanks for watching!

BREAKING! Bloodcurdling Outbreak Claims 25th Victim,Nightmare Situation Unfolding After Source Found - Duration: 5:37.

BREAKING!

Bloodcurdling Outbreak Claims 25th Victim, Nightmare Situation Unfolding After Source

Found

The flu season is upon us and because of a lack of overall vaccinations some have died

as a result and others have been seriously ill.

Now it appears Hepatitis A is also running its way through various cities and towns across

the country.

This time it has landed in Michigan unfortunately.

Yet another restaurant worker has tested positive for the virus which is known to be highly

contagious.

The worker who was employed at the Red Lobster was likely exposed to hundreds of others during

their employment due to their constant contact with other people.

Now Michigan has a death count of 25, which was announced by the state health departments

most recent press release.

They also reported a total of 751 cases that have been confirmed.

Sadly 80 percent of them have required the individuals to be hospitalized.

Food Safety News reported,

"Most people infected in the multi-state outbreak, which is described as having begun

in California although Michigan has been tracking cases just as long, have been homeless or

substance abusers.

However, depending on the state, one-fifth to one-third of victims have been neither

homeless nor substance abusers.

The outbreak, which includes cases in California, Michigan, Kentucky, Utah, Nevada, New York,

Arkansas and Oregon, has sickened more than 1,600 people and killed at least 46.

Hepatitis A can be spread through food and beverages that are contaminated during production

or by infected people during food preparation or serving.

Consequently, infected restaurant employees or other foodservice workers can expose other

employees or customers — often without knowing it because people are contagious before symptoms

develop.

Potential exposures at Red Lobster

The most recently reported restaurant worker in Michigan who tested positive for hepatitis

A potentially exposed people who ate, drank or worked at the Red Lobster restaurant at

27760 Novi Road in Novi, MI, from Jan. 15 through Feb. 14.

It is past the window of opportunity for many unvaccinated people who were at the restaurant

during the possible exposure period.

The post-exposure hepatitis A treatment must be giving within two weeks of exposure or

it is not effective.

Anyone who ate or drank anything from the implicated Red Lobster in Oakland County and

has developed symptoms of hepatitis A infection should immediately seek medical attention,

county health officials said in a public advisory.

"Vaccination can prevent the disease if given within 14 days after potential exposure,"

said Kathy Forzley, director of health and human services for Oakland County.

"If you have eaten at this location during these dates and have not been vaccinated for

hepatitis A or have a sudden onset of any symptoms, contact your doctor."

The county had a special vaccination clinic session yesterday and has another one scheduled

for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday at 1010 E. West Maple Road in Walled Lake in the Easterseals

office.

Most children in the United States have been receiving hepatitis A vaccinations since the

preventive became a routine recommendation in 2006.

Even though it has been available since 1996, the vast majority of adults have not been

vaccinated.

Hepatitis A is an infection of the liver caused by a virus.

The virus is shed in feces and is most commonly spread from person to person by unclean hands

contaminated with microscopic amounts feces.

Symptoms of infection may include sudden abdominal pain, diarrhea, nausea, headache, dark urine,

and/or vomiting often followed by yellowing of the skin and eyes.

Symptoms may appear from 14 to 50 days after exposure, but usually develop about one month

after exposure to the virus, according to public health officials.

Some people who are infected do not become sick, but they are contagious."

Michigan Radio reported the following about what is being done to try and combat this

public health issue

"The state is looking to pharmacists to help combat elevated cases of hepatitis A

in Michigan.

Last week, the Department of Health and Human Services sent a letter to pharmacies across

the state.

It outlines how the virus is transmitted and lists symptoms associated with the disease.

The letter also reminds pharmacists that there are preventative services they can provide

that are covered under Michigan Medicaid, including prevention counseling and vaccinations.

Lynn Sutfin with DHHS says pharmacists can be especially helpful when it comes to encouraging

high-risk groups like homeless people and drug users get vaccinated.

"Pharmacies are plentiful; they're almost on every corner.

They give a lot more opportunities for some of these high risk groups to get in and get

their vaccine," Sutfin says.

As of last week, there have been 751 cases of hepatitis A identified in Michigan since

August 2016.

Of those, 25 have been fatal."

The public health emergencies that have been announced in the United States recently have

been an ongoing issue.

The opioid crisis was one and while this one has not been announced yet this is starting

to become an emergency the size of something larger.

The American public deserves to know more and be aware of what is going on but this

issue has gone largely unreported by major news outlets.

N64 Classic Edition é viável? 15 jogos que podem ser lançados com ele! | Opinião #18 - Duration: 14:25.

Good morning, good afternoon, good evening.

N64 Classic Edition.

I've seen in national and foreign forums

many people with the same expectations as me

regarding N64 Classic Mini possible release this year.

At the same time, I've seen people with opposite opinions,

who say it won't be released for many reasons.

In my previous video, I got a comment from Tiago.

Kudos to Tiago for commenting and for watching my videos. In his opinion, there are four main reasons

that may prevent the N64 Classic Edition from being released.

First would be emulation,

since emulating the N64 is difficult compared to the NES and SNES.

Nintendo wouldn't properly emulate this console, right?

Another reason is the lack of Rareware games,

for only Donkey Kong Country, I mean, Donkey Kong 64 is owned by Nintendo.

The other ones, like Banjo-Kazooie, Diddy Kong Racing, Perfect Dark, Jet Force Gemini,

many games, which are owned by Rare, would stay out,

and the N64 wouldn't be well represented without these games.

Another reason concerns the controller, to which would be hard to maintain fidelity.

It's ideal to make a perfect copy of the original.

It'd be hard to make a perfect copy of the N64 controller

without it being horrible like the original.

Horrible in the sense of durability, okay?

I particularly love the N64 analog stick.

But more on that later.

And the final reason is how ugly the graphics would look in HD.

People would show resistence to the blurry and pointy graphics of the N64.

Well then, I'll respond to each one of those arguments.

First thing is emulation.

I think you know that N64 games have been emulated on the Wii since 2006.

Nintendo released 21 N64 games on Wii.

How is the Wii hardware like?

It has a single-core processor, 729 MHz.

It's an old architecture.

It's an architecture from the late 90s that was used on the GameCube.

The Wii is basically a turbo GameCube, we know that, and it emulates the N64.

By the way, even the GameCube itself had Zelda Collector's Edition,

with emulated Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask.

And the GameCube was less powerful than the Wii.

Well, Wii's total RAM: 88MB.

GameCube total RAM, if I'm not mistaken, is 64MB.

It's too low.

Now, look at the NES Classic Edition hardware, which is the same as the SNES Classic Edition.

They use the same PCB on both systems, to reduce costs.

The same board will be used in the entire line of products, I believe.

Before the SNES was released, I assumed they'd use the same hardware for a possible SNES Classic and that's what happened.

I still think the same one will be used on the N64.

Look, it has a quad-core procesor, with 256MB of RAM,

it's almost the triple of the memory used on Wii, which was 88MB, very low.

I've seen hacks of the NES Classic Edition emulating N64 games and they didn't run properly.

But then I'll tell you something.

Both the Virtual Console and the NES Classic

were developed by N.E.R.D., Nintendo European Research and Development.

N.E.R.D., yeah, N.E.R.D.

That department was responsible for creating the emulators for the Virtual Console

and the hardware for the NES Classic Edition as well as the emulator, system and everything.

These guys emulated N64 games in 2006, at the capacity I mentioned.

In 2018, on a better hardware,

wouldn't they be able to perfectly emulate the N64?

Yeah, they would.

I'm sure they could emulate the N64 in 720p,

keeping the resolution of the NES and the SNES Classic Edition.

Worst case scenario, it would run on 480p, which is acceptable via HDMI.

It'd run on the same resolution as the Wii.

But I don't think it'd be like that. As I said, the NES/SNES Classic hardware is much more powerful than the Wii.

Now to the game library issue.

It's really hard to think of the N64 without the Rare games.

However, I do believe the N64 with 15 games...

In my video where I play Goemon 3

I talked about my expectations on the SNES Classic. I correctly guessed it would have 20 games.

In fact, I said: if the NES had 30 games and the SNES games were more expensive on the Virtual Console,

Nintendo would probably put 20 SNES games on the SNES Classic Edition and 15 on the N64.

That's what I said on the occasion.

In the end, Nintendo released it with 21 games, 20+1, which is Star Fo 2x.

+1 is Star Fox 2, which was then an unreleased game.

I almost got it right.

I still think the N64 will have 15 games.

Honestly, even without the games by Rare,

Nintendo released 21 games, almost all of them first-party, on the Wii Virtual Console.

I'm not considering third-party games, since they must be really difficult to emulate.

I can't imagine Nintendo emulating Resident Evil 2, for example.

Goemon, for instance, is a N64 game I love, you know that,

it's a hard game to emulate.

I doubt Nintendo could do it.

So, basically, it'll be a N64 with first-party games only.

But I'm sure that even with 15 titles there will still be great games that people will miss there.

I made a list of 15 games that I think will be chosen for the N64 Classic Edition.

I'll tell you, those aren't necessarily games I'd like them to choose,

they're games I think they probably will choose.

Here we go.

Ocarina of Time.

Majora's Mask.

Mario 64.

F-Zero X.

Super Smash Bros, man, Smash Bros is so damn popular.

Paper Mario, an excelent RPG.

Ogre Battle.

Sin and Punishment, an on-rails shooter.

Mario Tennis, a really popular sports game.

Donkey Kong 64, which is a gigantic, massive adventure game,

developed by Rare, but with a Nintendo franchise.

Mario Kart 64.

I like Mario Kart 64 better than Diddy Kong Racing, to be honest.

Star Fox 64, you know it's one of my favorite games of all time.

It's a game I play incessantly.

Kirby. Kirby is a good adventure game too. I never played it much,

but it's on the Wii Virtual console,

so there wouldn't be a reason to not be on the N64 Classic Edition.

Harvest Moon.

This isn't first-party, it was developed by Natsume, but it's on the Virtual Console.

I believe Nintendo would put it on the N64 Classic Edition,

so it wouldn't have Nintendo games only.

Mario Party 2.

It's been a long time since I played Mario Party, I don't remember which one I liked the most.

I played the first three.

Those are games that destroy the N64 controller,

but since Mario Party 2 specifically is on the Virtual Console,

I think it may be on the N64 Classic as well.

They may consider it a better game or it may be easier to emulate, I don't know.

So, these are the 15 games I think they'd choose.

It's a good list.

It wouldn't be a failure just because it didn't have all the N64 games.

Despite N64 being less popular than the NES and SNES,

I do believe that with all the enthusiasm brought by the previous editions,

the N64 would be a guaranteed success.

I presume the console would sell out with these 15 games.

Now to the controller issue.

I agree there's not much room for a change, or else it'd be different.

Whereas if they don't change it, it'll have the same low durability.

Well, I'll talk about what Nintendo can do and what I think they will do,

in relation to the N64 controller,

because Nintendo sometimes doesn't do what we think is the best thing to do, right?

As we've seen in third-party controllers,

it's possible to make a stick that is visually identical to the original

but with potentiometers inside.

The original N64 controller works with optical sensors.

When you move the stick, it moves small gears with holes,

As you move it, the optical sensor detects the movement through the light

that goes through the holes.

This method has a different precision from the method used in other types of analog sticks,

which is the potentiometer.

The potentiometer is just like a volume button, that you spin like this.

So you move the stick and it determines the intensity in each axis,

the angle you tilted the stick.

I like the N64 system better.

I think the stick with potentiometer wouldn't have the same effect with the N64 games.

It's different, you have to get used to it.

I end up falling more on Mario when playing with another type of controller.

But it's a possible alternative. Perhaps they could better regulate the potentiometer.

To this day I've only seen it in third-party controllers.

Since Nintendo has privileged insider information on... on the emulation [of their games] also, as I talked about earlier

Nintendo has privileged insider information on their hardware and games

Therefore they're able to emulate their games better

But now I'm talking about the controller. They have all the datasheets,

all the info on the original thing.

I suppose they could adjust the controller to the potentiometer,

so it stays truthful to the original one.

Another thing they could is assembling the controller with the same stick, the same way it was,

With more durable parts.

Instead of using that plastic parts that grind a little bit every time you use the stick.

They could... I'm not an engineer, I don't know the materials very well,

but perhaps they could use polished metal,

with some grease, maybe then it'd never wear out.

I don't know, I'm just guessing.

They could make it exactly like the original,

they have all the necessary data to make a millimetrically perfect copy of the original,

with parts of the same size.

They'd rebuild it with more durable parts. I think it's doable.

Now here's another possibility, which I think Nintendo will do.

Which is simply releasing the controller as it was.

With the same parts that would wear out the same way.

I think it's the easiest and cheapest way.

Nintendo would probably do it,

and use the nostalgic feeling of the original controller as an excuse.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I believe that's what they'll do.

Now the last reason that may prevent the N64 Classic from being released is graphics.

The N64 graphics look really blurry and pointy and don't look good in HD.

Well, it's true but there are some things to consider.

First of all, not only the textures of the N64 are blurry,

the video output makes it even more blurry, with anti-aliasing,

bilinear filtering... I don't know how to explain it from a technical perspective

There's this type of anti-aliasing done in software,

which is possible to disable via GameShark, and there's the anti-aliasing processed via video encoder chip.

So the N64 goes through two layers of filtering that leave it with really blurry visuals.

Since it would be an HD emulation, Nintendo wouldn't need to use these tricks

to disguise its low resolution, then all the blur would disappear.

Poly rendering in 720p does result in more pleasant visuals.

I don't know if you had the opportunity,

I've played some N64 games on the Wii U Virtual Console. They're rendered in 1080p.

The picture actually looks really good, not blurry at all.

Of course, the textures would still have low resolution and look blurry as in the original,

and the polygons would still be pointy.

But I think the target audience are the ones who played the N64 at the time.

I don't think they would mind,

they all know how the games look like nowadays.

They'll realize it's much better than connecting a N64 in an HDTV with regular audio and video cables.

It's an improvement, you know?

And then there's the collecting factor. Many people already have N64 games and still want the new console.

If it wasn't that hard to get, I'd like to own the NES and SNES Classic Editions,

even 'tho I have many SNES games.

It wouldn't be different with the N64.

There's a big enough audience to sell as much as the previous versions.

Besides that, SNES didn't have Smash Bros.

The N64 had the first Smash Bros.

It got two Zelda games. Ocarina of Time has one of the best evaluations in gaming history.

It is doable. Also, there are people who don't like the SNES graphics.

Many people dislike the pixelated aspect.

Those who didn't play it back then may think it's...

Well, just like my myself in relation to the Atari. I can't play the Atari, I confess.

It's way too primitive for me. I didn't play it back then, I can't do it now.

Younger folks can't play the NES, but it didn't prevent Nintendo from making the NES Classic.

That's basically what I had to say.

Why I expect, why I do believe the N64 Classic Edition will be released.

The only reason for not releasing it this year would be the re-release of the NES Classic Edition.

It's been said that the NES Classic Edition would come back in 2018.

Since it was discontinued and many people couldn't get their hands on it.

Maybe it will be released on the second semester,

as were the previous editions in 2016 and in 2017.

Perhaps they'll fill that gap with a NES Classic re-release.

It's a possibility. The N64 release may be delayed.

It may be released this year or in 2019.

It may even be released in 2020 if they want to re-release the SNES Classic in 2019,

if they don't want to fill the store shelves with too many products.

Also, they need to focus on the Switch.

They can't lose focus on the Switch.

It's possible that the N64 is delayed to 2020, maybe I'm dreaming too high expecting it to be released this year.

But I'm sure it'll be released.

Nintendo may even make a GameCube Classic Edition.

That's basically what I had to say.

Thanks to everyone who commented and liked my videos.

I read them all.

I still couldn't answer them,

but they make me glad and it's an incentive so I continue to make more videos.

Thank you very much.
