Ultra Instinct in Real Life:
Ultra Instinct is a state which allows one's body to act before their mind.
Users can automatically react to any threat without the need to acknowledge it and their
body can adapt while in battle on its own.
It's like if you go Ultra Instinct, it would mean your body in a way would become conscious.
Your hands, legs, fingers and so on will move on its own, instantly as per the requirements
in combats.
I find it fascinating how this is actually a real life concept, used by martial artists,
fighters, athletes and also even people of other fields.
For example, in martial arts there's a concept called Mushin meaning Empty Mind, which is
almost similar to Ultra Instinct.
It's defined as a point, when a person relies not on what they think should be the next
move, but what is their trained natural reaction (or instinct) or what is felt intuitively.
If you simply look at the likes of Bruce Lee or Muhammad Ali, and how they fought you can
see that principle on display, and they all talked about it too.
I love it when Toriyama includes such concepts in Dragon
Ball, Goku also used Bruce Lee's one inch punch previously vs Frieza, and that was also
fun to watch.
I'll talk more about Ultra Instinct and what we have similar to it in real world,
in another video, but in this one we'll go through the 3 times Goku used Ultra Instinct
in Dragon Ball Super till Episode 128, knowing that Goku will be mastering it with a transformation
in Episode 129.
So, let's check how he progressed in his 3 attempts.
The First Ultra-
Goku had used everything he had, he broke his then known limit by going Kaio-Ken times
20, he used Spirit Bomb, but all of that failed vs Jiren The Grey.
When the Spirit Bomb was countered by Jiren, and Goku had to deal with his own most powerful
attack, it turned into a blessing.
According to Whis, Goku accomplished this by breaking the "shell" (his utmost limits
to be exact) to his deeper potential, after his willpower collides with the Universe 7's
Spirit Bomb.
Anyways the form had totally boosted Goku's performance, while he wasn't even able to
touch Jiren properly before, It is after achieving UI he landed a clear blow on him, and was
able to dodge most of his attacks.
In this form, he was even getting stronger as he fights; his friends noticed how he changed
drastically.
I mean he had to, this is a Godly Level power, and even the Gods struggle to perfect it.
However, Goku eventually starts burning through this power, and ultimately gets put down by
Jiren.
What's interesting about him going Ultra for the first time was, he was absolutely
clueless about how he got it and what he was doing with it.
It was like a dream to him, heck Goku didn't even talk while he was in that state, and
he could barely remember it after gaining back consciousness, to a point where we see
Frieza explaining to him how splendid it was.
In short, Goku didn't know any specific method of gaining it back even if he wanted
to, it wasn't up to him.
Attempt 2- Ulta Instinct Reborn vs Kefla
As Goku breaks through his 'self-limiting shell' for the second time, and gains back
Ultra Instinct power he gets to understand it better.
First, when he awakened it again, he was more conscious than before, he didn't need as
much of a desperate situation with a spirit bomb as before, but still he wasn't able
to do it just by wanting it like a Super Saiyan transformation or something like that.
Contrary to his first attempt, Goku was seen talking this time around and also power up
signifying better control.
However, one weakness was exposed to us this time, which is although Goku had a good hold
of defense, in this form his attacks weren't as effective.
Because he was still unable to let his body take over his mind, when it came to attacking,
as he was thinking and strategizing how he wants to attack.
Although Goku was able to get the job done pretty well, with an ultra finisher Kamehameha,
we knew there was at least this one problem that had to be solved the next time.
So, basically in the 2nd time, Goku was more conscious, had better control off it, but
still he was yet to get full control over it or being able to access the form, absolutely
by his will.
Also lacking, like not being able to utilize Ultra Instinct to its full extent when it
came to attacking was highlighted.
Attempt 3- Ulta Instinct Mastery
Goku is totally out of his energy.
Android 17 sacrificed himself to save them, and then Vegeta took the stand for him, gave
him time to recover, and finally gave his last bits of energy to Goku before getting
eliminated.
At this point in time, Goku realizes all of his Universe put all their trust on him, and
he just can't let them down.
As he is cornered by Jiren, he starts hearing voices of his loved ones in his head, and
he knew there's only one thing he has to do to get out of this situation, and lives
up to their trust.
Ultra Instinct!
And he does exactly that, dodges Jiren's attack faster than anything, and connect a
brutal punch and giving a very rare look of pain on Jiren's face.
What's special about this 3rd time going Ultra in comparison to his first 2 is, this
time more or less he gained back access to the form by Will.
He was thinking of it, he wanted a power-up, and he fired up his Ultra power.
I wouldn't say he totally can do it by will instantly but he is pretty close to that.
So the biggest problem is already out of the way.
Now, he did this at the very end of Episode 128, but from multiple sources, revealed spoilers,
we know that this 3rd run will end up in him mastering Ultra Instinct; we even got the
first glimpse from Episode 129 Preview.
This is more like taking it to a transformation level, Goku will now unlock this Ultimate
transformation with perfected Ultra Instinct where he has this glowy white-silverish hair.
This will also eliminate the one problem that was highlighted in his second UI run.
Yes, I am talking about attacks.
Although Goku's defense and dodging was lit!
His attacks weren't up to the up mark, but this time around as he masters it, most likely
that one big problem will be solved.
And oh boy, it will be so much fun to finally see Goku giving Jiren a beating he absolutely
deserves.
We are going to see The Strongest Goku ever going full savage on Jiren The Grey, the one
who is blind beyond strength.
The deeper yet basic concept is, initially Goku's body felt the rush to dodge and defend
in order to survive, but as the Battle for survival is at the verge of the end, as they
are driving near destruction.
Goku's body realizes, survival now doesn't only mean defense or isn't limited to just
dodging dangerous attacks, but also attacking and taking down the danger.
The Instinct of Goku's body is now prepared to go full intense on the source of Danger
that being Jiren!
Well, guys that's about all for now.
