Hello everyone! Are you ok? This is Marcos Paulo, from MPLA Airguns, and today we will talk about this "little beauty".
One of the spring piston guns more desired in the Airgun market. HW97 KT, here, at MPLA Airguns.
Stay tuned! You know that something nice is coming up next!Stay tuned! You know that something nice is coming up next!
Let's go, guys, let's start talking about the gun.
This gun in an edition of HW97 – HW97 has many versions. If you visit Weihrauch, they have at least 5 to 7 different versions of this gun.
Different stocks, different lengths… Each one has a different specificity, a specific use. This channel always says, I always say about the type of use of a gun.
And this model specifically, HW97 KT, is specific for Field Target and Metallic Silhouette. For sure you can go to the field with this gun, you can play, recreational shooting, or competition.
Yes, you can! No problem. But the gun was designed and made to use for Field Target. So, if your to-do Field Target shooting (using a spring piston gun),
This is one of the guns for you to consider during your selection.
A little bit about this gun. This is the model KT. K refers to "Carbine" version, which means that the gun is a little shorter.
And the T refers to this hole, the thumbhole. That is the hole for you to place your thumb. Strange, but this is English…
So, when you think about an HW97, you think about an accurate gun, a reliable gun, and it is true, this gun is all of this and even more.
The way it came from the box is how I am shooting.
So, talking about ergonomics, I do not need to say anything. The gun is extremely ergonomic, easy to handle. Because it is shorter, version K (carbine), it stays closer to the shooter.
I have said that I like better the guns which stay closer to the shooter, the guns in which the gravity center is closer to the shooter.
It is also very good to handle and hold. If you shoot on your feet, if you use it on the field, if you hold it somehow, it will be very good.
The grip, your hand, and your thumb fit it perfectly. This is a gun that you can trust, to even try long range shots, based on the constancy it has.
About the noise, it is everything closed here and that is why the sound would be a bit louder. The glass would amplify the sound.
Considering the this is a spring-piston gun, the bang is very "dry", once you do not feel the reverberation of the spring. In other words, you do not feel the spring coming and going.
It is only a "pah" and keeps its course.
I have been trying to sight the scope because it is very, very cold outside. If you look out there, the white things, are snow/ice.
So, now, it is about -1°C (feels like -10°C) and stay outside is very hard, my hands are freezing, so I cannot push the button or cock. When I try to aim, I start shaking a bit.
But I'll try to make the best I can with this gun.
Some things I would like to mention, the gun has a Muzzle Break. What is this? Many people think this piece here is a silencer. And in fact, it is not.
This is a Muzzle Break, that helps to reduce the turbulence of the air, before the pellet flies out of the barrel, dispersing the air internally.
This reduces the whirlwind on the muzzle, that is where the pellet suffers more influence of the air.
This model, and in fact all HW97 have the underlever, that is this handle under the barrel. You push it to release it and push it to close it again.
And the underlever is what allows you to cock and load the gun. The safe is here, and when you cock it, it goes to SAFE again.
The trigger is fully adjustable and gives you infinite possibilities. If you like a long course or a lighter course. It is as it came from factory and I felt it very good, very soft,
Very concise about the force you apply to shot, considering that this is a totally mechanical gun, that uses spring.
But, before we talk more about this gun, let's see the technical characteristics of it.
NO NEED FOR SUBTITLES. READING ONLY.
Perfect guys, we saw then, the guns are about 1 meter long, weighing about 4.3kg without a scope. It is a heavy gun, but it must be heavy because it is made for Field Target Shooting.
This way, the gun allows you to be more stable, seated when you are doing your shooting session.
One thing guys that I would like to show. We saw on the internet the picture of a shooter that had two fingers severed by a gun just like this, with the same cocking mechanism.
So, I will teach you how to do the right cocking and loading process with this gun.
First thing, take your finger off the trigger. Your finger never stays on the trigger when you are cocking or loading a gun. No matter what type of gun.
The finger just goes to the trigger, when you will shoot, and that's it! There is no other moment when you are dealing with a gun when you finger goes to the trigger.
This is a fact, and it does not change, independent if it is this or any other gun.
So, first thing, ok, need to cock and load, so, take your finger off the trigger, and hold it by the stock, where you hold it.
Hold the gun against your body, release the lever. With your left hand – or, if you are left-handed, use your right hand.
The hand you use will never leave the lever, ok? So, grab it, hold the gun, pull all way down. This hand, this hand here, will never leave the lever.
You can release your other hand or the gun from your body - see, totally free. But this hand will not leave the lever.
So, now, you can hold the gun, and use your other hand, take the pellet, insert it, close the lever and lock it.
So, remember, your hand will never release the lever. You will do all the operation you need, holding the lever like this.
Ok? Never forget this, to avoid accidents like our friend that lose part of his fingers. Safety comes always first.
This this is the right way to cock and load this gun.
This rifle is 4.5 (.177) and it is originally regulated to 16 joules. The spring is original, no tuning was made. As I said, you have an exceptional rifle for hunting and,
In this case, specifically for Field Target Shooting and Metallic Silhouette.
This gun is exceptional!
Let's go for the tests!
Hello guys, I am outside. Not sure if you can see it, but, it is cold, VERY COLD! There is an annoying rainy. But I will try to do the tests, 25 meters.
Using this new scope for our reviews, an Aztec 3-18x50 SFP. Let's try to do a good group, using JSB Express – 7.87 grains.
I am using gloves; my hands are getting cold. So, I will try to do the best I can. Remember guys, that who participate in BR style competitions using spring piston guns.
This is not a competition, ok? I'm not competing. I am only demonstrating the performance of this gun, at this weather, -1°C.
And the objective here is not to demonstrate my skills, but simply to show what the gun is able to do. Ok?
Let's go see what this rifle can do. Again, pay attention to the safety procedures!
Hey guys, back inside! I couldn't do this outside – it is freaking cold! But I am impressed with the results.
Results are similar to top PCP's, from a spring-piston rifle, shooting as it came out from the box. Totally mechanic, doing this:
This! 0.37 inch at 25 meters, 10 shots. This is incredible! This type of result is what you expect from a top of range PCP, costing about US$2500/£2000.
And you have this with this spring piston gun. So, for those who were in doubt about the precision of a spring piston gun, it is here!
16 joules, original spring, original trigger, 100% original. From the box, added the scope, sighted it and did this group.
So, if you were in doubt, it is here. I am extremely satisfied (let me put it here).
General impressions about the gun… It is a "perfect gun". As a spring-piston gun, this is the gun of the dream of anyone.
It is a gun that you can buy, knowing that you will take it out of the box and it will deliver an impressive performance.
And for those who like spring-piston guns, more than PCPs, here it is a good option!
I hope you like it, although the cold, I am here, making videos for you. To take to you, a high-quality information.
