Quick Tip 07: Basic Color Correction for Cinematics [TUTORIAL] - Duration: 5:38.

Hello there guys and girls,

welcome to another quick tip.

This time we will talk about a topic that has been requested a lot by my viewers: Color

grading.

Well, and I do have to make a distinction here.

We're actually gonna talk about basic color correction.

You will learn how to optimize the footage from GTA in your video editing software for

more impact.

Color grading is an entire science in itself and there are tons of in-depth tutorials about

this on YouTube.

It really doesn't matter if you're using real life footage or ingame footage for this.

Also, if you don't have a calibrated grading monitor, it's really hard to achieve a universally

satisfying result anyway.

If you wanna get started with color grading, you should definitely use the free plugin

DaVinci Resolve for your editing software as it's beginner friendly and very potent

– check out Danny Fungus' channel as he invests a lot of thought into his color grading

for machinima.

Now, let's dive into the actual topic.

I'm gonna show you these techniques using Adobe Premiere Pro.

First of all I recommend you to render your footage with the mod "Extended Video Export"

for better video quality.

I've created a tutorial about how to use it a while back.

Check it out if you haven't yet.

Once you have rendered your footage and imported it into your video editor, it's time to

do the color correction – NOT.

In my opinion it's best to do all the editing first – that includes audio design like

I've shown in the previous quick tip.

That's because in Premiere you can then use adjustment layers.

So instead of applying color correction and video effects to every little bit of footage,

you only have to do that step once and then you can change the length of the effects by

clipping or extending this adjustment layer.

It's practical if you have a scene change for instance because you can make a cut and

easily create a different set of adjustments for another scene.

The next part is highly opinionated since this is the way I like to do it.

You gotta find your own way based on the advice I'm giving you, since color in movies is

very subjective.

What I usually do is to go to the effects panel and put the lumetri-color effect onto

the adjustment layer.

Also I like to use unsharp mask and grain for this so I'll drag and drop those onto

the same layer, too.

Then you can switch up into the effects settings and you should see all the effects you just

dragged in.

Let's start with the quick ones.

The footage from GTA usually comes out a bit muddy, even if it has a resolution of Full

HD and is rendered with EVE.

The unsharp mask makes your images look a little more crisp but you must not overdo

it with these values.

I usually go for 50 to 75 in strength and increase the radius to 1,5 or 2 maximum.

This is enough to give the GTA footage a much more realistic and sharp look.

Next up is the grain.

Real life film usually has some amount of grain, especially older movies shot on film

rolls.

But that's a topic in itself again.

I just like to apply a very tiny amount of grain to my footage because this extra layer

kinda glues all the elements in a shot together if that makes any sense.

It's enough to use an intensity of 3 to five percent.

Uncheck the box to use "color grain" though.

What you want here is monochromatic grain.

The effect is super subtle, but it gives the cinematics a more realistic and even grim

look if you turn up the value higher.

And now let's get to the lumetri-color.

Obviously my menu is in german here but I'll try to name everything correctly.

A very interesting slider is white balance | temperature.

This will allow you to quickly change the look of a shot.

So if you wanna do a night time shot or something in cold weather, literally turn down the temperature

here to make the image more blueish.

The same applies for hot weather and the desert.

Just turn it up.

Even if it's a regular shot I'd advise you to make the image a little warmer because

the GTA footage tends to be rendered a little blueish by default.

The next section is called "color" and it allows you to adjust the lighting.

I like to turn this value up by point five or 1 to brighten things up and make them look

a little more polished.

You can also increase the contrast by around 50 because the GTA footage tends to look really

flat.

Also I like to play around with the highlights and shadows, usually I turn the shadows down

a little bit to make the shot look richer.

Last but not least there's the saturation slider.

If you wanna show a happy bubbly situation feel free to bump the saturation up a little

to make the colors more vivid.

A grim cinematic could very well do with a saturation of 85 to 90 to make everything

look greyish and sad.

As you can see the lumetri-color panel offers a lot more dials and values to manipulate.

But let's just compare what we've achieved so far.

I think even by doing so very little we achieved a massive improvement on the original footage,

kinda like someone who restores old paintings.

No, not like that.

You know what I mean.

Now slap a letterbox on that shit like I've shown you in part two of this series and voilá!

There's a million views waiting for you right there.

The most important lesson about color correction and grading is that the type of color adjustments

always need to make sense with the scene, the emotions, the message you're showing.

The rest is just trial, error and practice.

hi I'm back and with even shorter hair some of you may have noticed. Anyway, today I'll

be doing a summer look book! So let's get right started!

The first look is a casual one where you can

wear every day either to the movies to see your friends when you're going

shopping whenever. The shirt is semi see-through

it's really cool to work under the hot heat. Wedges, pumps, Tom's, Teva, slippers

whichever shoes will fit this outfit. Moving onto the second look is a cute one.

Whichever overall skirt you may have just style it with a tight shirt and wear

sneakers or sandals and then sling on a backpack or a fanny pack.

Say Hi to myadorable otter doll :P

I've put on on crop top from Zara. It has wiggly ends

on the neckline and the arms. These overalls are from H&M. I love overall skirts.

Here is a versatile clothing that can be worn as a club night out or

even on an office wear. The dolls I'm holding by the way are the ones that I

have in my bed. Anyway the dress is from Zara as always, and I've paired it up

with a blue blazer and these bags and shoes are some of my tips that will go

well with the outfit.

Last but not the least is the artsy look. I called it an

artsy look because of the extravaganza pattern on this skirt. The top has a

wide neck and I wore something that I could tuck inside the skirt.

For shoes I

would wear an ankle strap sandal, a mule, or sneakers.

Lots of my Italians fans ask me frequently why I choose English rather than Italian for my channel.

If you didn't know, I'm Italian and I speak Italian and a little of my public comes from Italy.

Then... why do I use the English?

First of all, I want to get in touch with all the people I can.

And, of course, English is one of the most spoken languages in the world.

In fact, it allows me to know people from America, India, Georgia, France, Germany, Mexico and so on.

Another reason is that in Italy we don't use English that much so it's very difficult to improve your ability of listening and speaking.

My only way to use the English language was to create my personal space known as Ghooper.

When we create negative thoughts for other people

Yes, it creates depletion. I wanted to ask

If I think wrong about somebody

What is his fault, why does his energy get depleted?

It is not his fault.

He is receiving your energy.

How will we receive? Suppose he is in America, watching a movie.

And I send a thought from here but his focus is elsewhere. How will he receive it?

Energy is anywhere travelling to him because it is created for him.

Like a WhatsApp message or an SMS.

That energy is created for him.

So he gets depleted?

Okay, let us take the opposite.

We seek blessings from people.

We say pray for me.

You are in a different city from him, he is in a different country.

Children call up parents to say - our exams begin tomorrow, pray for us.

The children are in a different country and parents are in India. How will prayers work?

It works, is it not?

Which means wherever we are

If we are praying for someone

We are sending them good wishes

That soul receives it.

God teaches us - you can sit in one place

And meditate for the entire world.

You can meditate for any soul who is in any part of the world.

Which means if we create a focused, positive energy for them

That soul will receive it.

You forgot about it.

What is the solution to protect myself?

When we are creating negative thoughts for somebody

The vibration goes to them and depletes their energy

How do we take care?

They are living in an automatic way of living where thoughts come and go.

We feel that particular way of thinking is natural.

If you are aware

Even if wrong thoughts are getting created for somebody

There is an option that it is coming from the other side.

Either ways, whether we are creating it

Or whether it is coming from them

We have the power to change it.

So what we saw last time

I did not understand about the power to change.

How do I change when I am getting that energy?

How do you change your thought?

Do I send back good energy?

There is no sending, it is about creating.

It is - creating.

Suppose right now you are creating wrong thoughts for me.

Thoughts are going on - she is wrong, she is bad.

So you change your thinking

So depletion does not happen.

Earlier if I was watching news and breaking news segment would flash at the bottom of the screen

By evening I would feel I did not do anything today but why am I tired?

This is depletion.

We should know what is depletion of the soul.

And what is empowerment of the soul.

What is discharging and what is charging.

Who is a powerful soul and who is a weak soul.

What did a weak soul do?

Thinks negatively for the whole day, feels heavy and tired by end of the day.

What did a strong soul do?

Was aware when a negative thought was created, could see that thought.

Checked and changed it.

Conserved energy.

Apart from feeling tired towards evening despite doing nothing throughout the day

I would also wake up tired in the morning.

Instead of feeling fresh.

It is a way of living.

Sadness, anger

It becomes a way of living.

Dullness, not feeling happy, don't feel like going anywhere.

Don't even feel like smiling even when others are having a good time.

We had a teacher at school. When we wish good morning, he would ask - what so good about the morning?

That becomes a way of living.

It will happen even early morning. Where has the thought changed?

The whole day it was going on.

Energy. It was going on the whole day.

Slept at night with the same thoughts.

The moment we get success thoughts - everybody can do this as a homework today.

We need to begin a practice.

We are in an environment where negative thinking is

Common, normal and natural.

That vibration is around us.

People with whom we live and work

For many of them, negative thinking could be natural.

Their negative vibrations are coming to us.

Besides, we might also be creating negative thoughts.

Either ways, now we have to know that we have the power to change the thoughts.

So with awareness we should start a practice

When that thought comes

We experience that thought.

We may even be surprised how we could think that way.

Let us not just stop there.

Let us pause at that moment and change the thought.

If the negative thoughts come again

Once again pause and again change.

When we start doing this repeatedly

The mind will learn

A different way of thinking.

It becomes a practice. We can do it.

If somebody talks rudely, we will respond with love.

Date of rudely again but we again respond with love.

After a while we say that is his habit and this is my habit.

We did not change our way of speaking by getting influenced by their way of speaking.

If we can do it at the level of words

We can do it at the level of thoughts.

Peace doesn't require two people.

But how is the universe still sustained?

Who are radiating very powerful, focused, peaceful energy.

Just like how they can do it

We can also do it.

And we can do it while living at home

Even while discharging all our responsibilities

We can still create peace.

We are actually doing it and seeing the difference in ourselves.

If we just check ourselves today

How much negativity would we create earlier

And how much we create today.

If I just evaluate myself

Even if I got a negative WhatsApp message

I would forward it to 100 people.

Later I would share it with 50 people.

Now I delete it even before reading.

It is it is a message but still you are able to check yourself.

Now I don't like those things.

I try to send very positive messages.

Now check at the level of thinking.

That was checking that the information level.

About how much negativity we will spread earlier.

So my anger was justified.

What is the belief system now? No matter what the other person does

I have to speak to him with love.

So even if the other person is wrong

Realisation happened at the level of words.

No matter what energy comes from people, my words should be right.

Same at the level of thoughts now.

Would our thinking also have changed by now?

It is not a big thing for them to be peaceful. Let them be peaceful remaining here.

Now you did it and saw the result.

You yourself did and saw the result.

That is right but it is not easy.

That is a different lifestyle of a tapasvi.

The purpose of their life

Is different.

Their purpose is different.

Not just for themselves, but for the whole world they meditate.

Even our purpose matches with theirs because we are also changing our environment.

If we change the environment at home, staff will be happy. Their wives will be happy.

If my son is happy then his children will be happy.

Everything is interconnected.

But when you do it only at your home

Even those vibrations radiate to the universe.

It is radiated to the whole universe and not just to your house.

How?

Vibrations are radiating all around us.

That is it, so your radiating your vibration.

So each one, when we create a change

We are contributing to world change.

Every time each one brings a change in themselves

They are contributing to world change.

Bring a change in ourselves means?

When you changed you are thinking, you radiated peace to the world.

Earlier when you would get angry or wrong thoughts

You are radiating aggression to the world.

So let us all change, and change the world.
