Does Jesus Want You to Be Happy - Duration: 3:23.

Craig Huggart: Does Jesus want you to be happy?

In this video, I share the answer from a biblical perspective.

All mighty God is really happy and he created you to be really happy, right here, right

now.

That's not heresy, that's truth.

In 2015 Randy Alcorn wrote the definitive work on happiness from a Christian perspective

called Happiness.

That same year I devoured all 497 pages and got way happier.

In this video, I share some of my story and give you two reasons the Church has gotten

off-track on this issue.

If you are like me, you're no stranger to sadness.

In my twenties, I struggled with depression and even had thoughts of suicide.

Charles Spurgeon, one of the greatest preachers ever, struggled with depression.

He said, "Who can bear the weight of souls without sometimes sinking to the dust?"

But he also said, "Let us get into our right position.

Children of the happy God should themselves be happy."

So, why have we gotten so off track in our view of happiness?

One is that we've overreacted to prosperity theology.

Alcorn says, "Prosperity theology isn't wrong because it values happiness.

It's wrong because it tries to obtain happiness in secondary things rather than in God."

Two, we've been taught a false dichotomy between joy and happiness.

Prior to the 20th century all commentators agreed joy and happiness are the same thing.

Some scriptures on this topic.

John 15:11, "These things I have spoken to you that my joy may be in you and that

your joy may be full."

Isaiah 62:5, "As the bridegroom rejoices over the bride, so shall your God rejoice

over you."

That was two verses.

There are over 2700 verses in the Bible containing happiness and its equivalent words.

What if Jesus looked you in the eye and said, "If you follow me, you will suffer.

I can't promise you health or happiness, but I can promise you that if you totally surrender

to me, you'll be really happy right now and in eternity."

Would you take that deal?

Right theology can make you happier and right routines can make you happier too.

Make sure to take a look in the description and click the link to download my exact evening

routine.

The Magic of Seidr - Duration: 16:46.

Hello my dear friends, how are you? My name is Arith Harger and today I'm going to talk about Seidr

I have noticed that in modern paganism, amongst those who practice northern European pagan traditions,

the term Seidr became the word to designate Norse witchcraft in general

Every type of Norse traditional magic goes into the bag of Seidr

This is a common mistake because of the lack of information about other magical arts of Old Norse societies

Seidr is the term which often appears in the sources and was spread in hundreds of academic works

so the idea of Seidr being the equivalent of Norse witchcraft was highly promoted

Also, it's important to remember that,

the most common term in the sources when referring to someone who possesses magical knowledge and abilities-

is actually Fjǫlkunning

Now, Seidr is not witchcraft in its original sense

It's a far more complex activity

which requires a vast amount of knowledge of both science and techniques to induce altered states of consciousness

Seidr is an ancient pre-Christian Norse form of divination, magic and shamanism,

and was regenerative in nature, and also with a connection to the resurrection of the dead

Seidr means Cord, String, because its main purpose is to alter the course of destiny by re-weaving parts of the destiny's web

But as I've said, Seidr is a form of magic and shamanism,

it's the combination of traditional science used to cause changes

with a much more complex state of consciousness using trance techniques to achieve one's purpose

Seidr is about ritualistic actions performed for divination, for seeking what is hidden from us,

what we can't simply come in contact with in our natural state of existence

The aim is to both acquire the knowledge of the secrets of the mind and of physical locations

The hidden knowledge gained through Seidr could be used for a variety of things

such as healing the sick; to influence good luck; to control the weather, influence animals etc.

Beneficial actions

However, it could also be used for the exact opposite

vto curse, to induce illness, to injure and even kil

If you know how to create something, you can also undo it and reshape it, give it a different purpose

This is why Seidr is associated with Strings, Cords, the art of Spinning and Weaving.

Bending your will and power to weave and create something, you undo it, rework, reshape,

pull and push the strings and create something completely different with other purposes

It's the art of influencing events

In other words, the performer of Seidr sends forth its mind

to influence a variety of things according to the task the practitioner of seidr wants to perform

As I've said, Seidr isn't witchcraft, and in my opinion it can't be considered the only form of magic of the ancient Norse societies

I see that people often include within seidr the art of Galdr, or Galdur

Of course, Galdur in later times seems to have taken some moral connotations and became a magical art more "honourable" to use

whilst Seidr was considered shameful and unmanly, womanish

But aside from social differences, originally there were certain technical distinctions between these two forms of magic

which makes them two distinct magical practices and not branches of the same

We have other magical and/or shamanic techniques which can be argued as being branches of the same form of magic

or other distinct forms of magic other than the two main ones, Seidr and Galdur

For instance, we have Sitja Uti, which was a type of shamanic divination

This technique was to spend the night out on cross-ways amidst invocations to the powers of darkness to reveal secrets or counsel

This was a shamanic/ritualistic performance which required being out there, sitting in darkness and chant invocations

This can be argued to be a completely different form of magic, or a branch of Seidr,

or even a mixture of both Seidr and Galdur techniques,

but we can't put it in the same bag as Seidr with certainly

and when I said, that Galdur was considered more "honourable" and Seidr was considered to be "shameful" and "womanish"

these social differences existed in Norse societies because Seidr was a woman's trade

The sources make it clear that Seidr was women's magic, with the exception of Odin

As I've said, Seidr is related to spinning

Much like the forces of the world are spun and therefore are connected, changing the aspects of life

so is Seidr spun to affect a variety of realities of life

This aspect of Seidr is reflected on a couple of deities, like the Norns for instance, the Norse goddesses of fate

the female deities that spin the life threads of every human being

Or in the figure of Frigg,

who became associated with spinning and weaving because some of Freyja's magical connections remained alive in the figure of Frigg

As you know and as I've said on another video, Frigg and Freyja are the same goddess,

but Freyja's cult diminished due to the social changes of the Viking Age and later with the introduction of Christianity,

and so Freyja was transformed into Frigg,

who was transformed into a domestic goddess and so certain domestic traits connected to the magic of Freyja, were kept in the figure of Frigg -

like spinning and weaving

This spinning, was associated with the women's work of spinning yarn, enhancing seidr as a woman's trade

The Sagas even explicitly say that it was shameful for men to perform Seidr,

precisely because of the association with spinning and a woman's trade

But surprisingly Odin, a male god, practised Seidr, because Freyja gave to him, and other gods, the magic of seidr

But this myth may be a latter attachment to the Norse myths,

precisely to demonstrate that the cult of Freyja progressively diminished and it was Odin who became the most prominent deity,

highly worshipped

In medieval Iceland Odin became the equivalent of the Christian God

Odin became the Alfather, King of the Gods, Ruler of Heavens, and so people worshipped Odin more than ever,

after all, he was the equivalent of the creator

What you have to understand is that in the beginning of medieval Iceland, Paganism was still allowed,

even if it was only hidden from public view,

but there was this great mixture between Catholicism and Norse Paganism,

so people still practiced a lot of the old traditional magical practices

but since most deities were put aside to easily implement Catholicism,

those who still practiced the old ways needed a deity to call upon to help in magical practices

That was Odin, the god who somewhat survived, but with a lot of Christian influences

Odin became associated with Seidr precisely because there was no other god anymore

The cults of Freyja had been outlawed, and any practice related to the goddess was punished,

for instance, "night-riding", a form of shapeshifting associated with the Cult of Freyja, performed by women

Any magical activity performed by women was seen as a negative magic and was associated with witches, or "Troll Hags"

Just like many female magical practices, "Night Riding" was a banned magic and punished if found guilty of its use

So no more Goddesses associated with magic, only gods, only male figures

because male figures were the ones who prevailed in a society culturally and religiously shaped by Christianity

This is one of the reasons why Galdr and Seidr were socially distinct,

because the practice of Galdr wasn't associated with women's magic,

therefore it was more "honourable" to practice even within a Catholic society

and Seidr was shameful because it was associated with women

But well, some men also practiced Seidr, but needed a patron male god so it wouldn't feel so shameful and to avoid being ostracized by the society

So both Freya and Odin were seen as the divine models of seidr practitioners among their respective genders

Seidr was a highly gendered activity during the Viking Age and onwards,

so the creation of the myth of Freyja giving Odin the magical art of Seidr was of the utmost importance

Now both genders could practice without being so shameful for men

Since I've spoken about Freyja, and don't worry I'm not going to delve much more on that Goddess,

I'm sure you had enough of her in this channel, lately I've made a couple of videos about her

But even so speaking about Seidr it's inevitable to speak about Freyja

Freya is the divine archetype of the völva, a practitioner of Seidr

We have a couple of sources, both sagas and poems, with interesting details about the Volvur and their doings

such as The Saga of Erik the Red, where the seeress is helped by spirits,

as in the practice of shamanism, where the shaman is thought to be assisted by friendly spirits-

and others not so much recommended-

when the body of the shaman lies in trance so that its spirit can journey into the otherworld

but in that account also describes in detail what the Seeres wears, including the fact of using talismans

And of course one of the most famous accounts about a Volva is the Völuspá

"The Prophecy of the Volvur"

which contains sparse accounts of seidr-workers and their practices

Just like other northern Eurasian shamans, the völva was a figure completely apart from the rest of the society

both in a positive and a negative way

she was simultaneously exalted but also feared

We have other terms to refer to practitioners of Seidr, which goes directly to the practice itself,

such as seidmenn, Seidmadr, for a man, and Seidkona for a woman

or spákona has being a prophetess, directly related to the art of divination, foretelling the future

However, the term Volva links the woman to a staff, which was used during the rituals

With a distaff in hand, the practitioner of Seidr entered in a trance to travel in spirit throughout the Nine Worlds

Although the Volva seems much more to have been a traveling woman,

going from place to place performing her acts of Seidr in exchange for a variety of things

while the other terms seem to be used for those who practice Seidr but do not necessarily wander about,

acquiring something in return for their services

and of course in archaeological findings we have many burial mounds belonging to vǫlur

or the subjects were identified as being Volur,

where staffs were buried with the individuals, and in some accounts, drums, that one instrument highly used in shamanic rituals

In conclusion, unlike Galdr where the use of incantational formulas, spoken or sung, predominate,

it's a magical art much more conscious and centred in the physical abilities of the person,

Seidr seems to be much more intuitive and synthetic, where a trance state is required and induced

in which the consciousness would be of relatively less importance

therefore much closer to a shamanic practice

Seidr is a specific Scandinavian form of magical practice, a form of sorcery

And it's important to refer a point, which reinforces this more shamanistic approach related to Seidr

the fact that to perform seidr was also needed to sing songs, chant, recite, the words of a spell called "Invoking the Spirits"

varðlokkur

vard meaning "spirit", "guardian", and loka is to "call", "lure", "invoke", or "lock"

The contact with the spirits was achieved while in an altered state of consciousness

Helping spirits is the main focus of shamanic practices to acquire knowledge, power, and a variety of abilities-

to perform the tasks required for a specific purpose

This, Vardlokkur, is the name of a magical song which was sung at prophetic sessions by Scandinavian seeresses

and this shamanistic practice probably had a function of calling up the spirits from whom the seeresses received knowledge

But other accounts call this type of song Seiðlæti

which is "Magic Tune"

So maybe Seiðlæti is the name given to these songs used in Seidr

and Vardlokkur is the name of one specific song used to call a specific spirit, maybe Loki, who knows?

There seems to be some similarities between the name of the song and the name of this god

I'm saying this because for instance, there are accounts of a song/spell used for the same purpose but called Urðar Lokkur

specifically for the Norn Urdr

contacting the spirit of Urdr, maybe magical work directly related with fate

So it seems there were multiple songs for each spirit, called upon to aid on the field of expertise of the specific spirit

Although there is only one reference about this Vardlokur invocation,

it seems working with spirits is implicit in Seidr

Vardlokur may be one single invocation which was used for a specific purpose, to lock the helping spirit

and as I've said, there may have been other invocations in Seidr just as there are hundreds of invocations in Galdr

Well, in fact, these songs are directly related to Galdr itself,

which seems to be a magical practice used before performing Seidr magic

15 DETAILS & EASTER EGGS ABOUT OCTO EXPANSION - Splatoon 2 - Duration: 10:51.

Splatoon 2 Octo Expansion has been released since few weeks,

and you probably know it's filled with a lot of details.

Some are funny.

and some are interesting.

Some are there to give us more information about the game story.

In this video, i will show you 15 details

you probably didn't notice in Octo Expansion.

the first one is pretty funny when you look at it.

when you check the subway map with agent 8.

If you move your joystick to travel between lines;

you may notice that Agent 8 is moving his thumb at the same time as you.

His movement is exactly the same

as the one you are doing on your controller.

It's like agent 8 was controlling everything.

Number 2: You probably know that with Octo Expansion you can unlock

octalings. They are playable in the game.

But maybe you are curious about what happens if you try to go back in

the Octo Valley with an octaling skin.

Well, your appearance will change to an inkling.

Marie sent agent 4 in a mission in the story, and this agent is an inkling.

It would be against the story if the character suddenly change for an octaling.

So Nintendo's dev added this.

If you go back to the hero mode as an octaling, your character will change to an inkling.

But he will change back to octaling as soon as you join Inkopolis.

Number 3: Talking about Inkopolis, there's a small difference if you are

an octaling and look at Off the Hook through the window.

Indeed, you probably know they are waving at you

if you fix them during few seconds.

But their movement is different if you are

inkling or if you are an octaling.

It looks like Pearl and Marina recognize Agent 8 behind the window.

The same agent they helped during this DLC.

Number 4: Let's talk about music now.

And especially this DLC music.

If you bought Octo Expansion DLC, you can unlock

musics with the arcade.

But for that you need to progress inside the DLC story,

then you will have access to new musics.

The small detail to notice is those music numbers

don't follow the previous ones. They start with

the number 80.

This number is a small reference to the word "octo" which means 8,

and it's another reference to the word octopus because they have 8 tentacles.

By the way, speaking about octopus, number 5, let's talk about DJ Octavio now.

you probably know if you saw my video about a theory saying that

DJ Octavio is controlling Tenta-Titans in the hero mode.

With this DLC, we can see some bosses coming from the hero mode

We could think they are controlled by DJ Octavio.

And in fact, not at all.

If we look at these bosses tentacles precisely,

we can't see DJ Octavio scar on it.

it proves that dev paid attention to this kind of detail.

First, we can think the theory was true, but it also means

that DJ Octavio doesn't exist in green and blue version.

TarTar probably didn't catch him.

Number 6: Let's talk about all the floating objects we can notice in this DLC.

If you paid attention to it, you probably recognized some of these.

We can see Gameboys, Gamecube, in short, a lot of retro objects.

But in fact, to be really more specific, it's not only objects

but retro games.

And people had fun just trying to look

and compare them with real games that have existed.

And it's pretty funny to see all the little details hidden everywhere on the maps.

Not everybody can notice and know it

if you weren't born in the 80s and 90s.

But it's interesting to notice.

By the way, number 7:

take a look at the arena names.

Apparently, majority of those arena name

are references to music, or movies.

I can't make a full list of 80 levels,

but i'll show you some right now.

It's not obvious everytime, sometimes you have to know

the music or movie really well to understand.

but hints are there, you can't deny it.

It's not really the same with the french version

but you can see it with the english version.

translator had a lot of fun with it.

Number 8: Let's talk about C.Q. Cumber.

You probably know that everytime you're about to start a level, he's here to give you information.

And sometimes he does some weird stuff like climbing walls.

First of all, it's interesting to notice that we can see other sea cucumbers

in the Octo Expansion. And they aren't C.Q. Cumber.

But it's not the only thing:

you can make C.Q. Cumber fall off the wall.

Simply by shooting at him.

So obviously it's a really small detail.

But it's pretty funny to see that Nintendo dev tried to make it

really realistic.

So we can be mean and shoot at him to make him fall off his wall.

Personally, I felt guilty after that.

Number 9: Let's talk about the SplatNet 2 application now.

When you are playing online, it calculates your points

and gives you an indicator of how much you have inked so far.

You can win some rewards after a certain amount of points, like a wallpaper.

But if you choose to be an octaling

you will unlock a new meter different than the inkling one, with new rewards.

So if you want to complete everything, well,

once you have finished the inkling counter, you will also have the octaling counter to fill.

By the way, speaking of wallpaper, lets talk about the detail number 10:

Take a look at Cap'n Cuttlefish phone.

You may not have noticed; but it is possible to look at the screen

and realize that his wallpaper is a Squid Sisters picture.

Indeed, we can see Callie and Marie on his screen.

It's actually a picture already in the game, in Splatoon 1.

And you can see it there, on their grandfather's phone,

and it's pretty cool!

Number 11: let's talk about train.

You can see that there are more than one train.

Because when you are travaling on certain lines

you might cross other trains.

So, how many trains? Do we have more than one C.Q. Cumber

It's not very clear! But one thing is obvious:

It's not the only train.

Maybe there are other octalings in other trains doing the same adventure as us

but in a different order?

This theory is pretty nice to be honest.

Number 12: It's probably an obvious detail but let's talk about

one of the bonus conversation you will unlock at the end of this DLC

In this conversation, we can see agent 2 talking with Cap'n Cuttlefish.

If you finished hero mode you probably know that agent 2 is Marie.

And we can see Marie talking with her grandfather.

It's interesting to notice that in this conversation

we can't say if it's happening before or after you finished the hero mode.

This discussion comes when you finish the DLC,

but in what is said, we don't really know if Callie is back or not.

or still remains a DJ Octavio's prisoner.

It's like Nintendo dev placed this discussion here to

let us understand that it's not really important.

Hero mode and DLC can be played independently and in parallel.

They probably happening both at the same time, or close.

One have no impact on the other one.

That's what we can think about this discussion. Agent 2 says she will be

waiting at the cabin, but she doesn't talk about Callie.

The mystery remains.

And finally, apart from the fact that Cap'n Cuttlefish loves snacks;

this discussion isn't really giving us any more information.

Number 13: we're going to talk about the game case.

Actually, you can only buy the digital version of Octo Expansion

There's no case for the game because it's a DLC. You have to download it.

But it turns out that Nintendo created a cover for this DLC.

An Octo Expansion cover available for 30 platinum

points on MyNintendo.com.

You can print it at home and replace the original cover.

and show Octo Expansion colors.

Number 14: Let's talk about TarTar, the big bad guy in this story.

And here we are going to talk about his first name.

So Tartar that can make reference to the Tartar sauce

And it's probably what we look like after going in

his mixer.

And it's actually, and most importantly, a reference to Tartar from Greek mythology.

A place where all the souls in pain are locked. Really deep under the globe.

And it's a beautiful reference if look where the underground is.

It's under the sea, hidden in the depths of the oceans.

This place tries to lock us from the rest of the world.

It's a nice reference to the situation that takes place in the DLC.

Number 15 and to finish: let's talk about the statue at the end of the game,

but especially about the retro atmosphere we can see in this DLC.

In fact, it's a huge reference to the Vaporwave. It's a musical and

artistic movement that emerged on the internet.

And it's a style that actually refers to 80s.

The "Old School" aesthetic you can find everywhere.

Old consoles, old games, old 3D logos, different effect and

glitch on enemies, flashy colors, between pink and green, and music

coming from computer.

All of that is centered around the Vaporwave, and once we understand that,

we can understand the style of this DLC. Even the statue at the end of the story.

You just have to type Vaporwave on Google to be convinced.

You will see Greek-Roman statues, and it's actually

a Vaporwave's emblem. I don't really understand the reason tho.

But it's sure that the last boss of this DLC

is a huge reference that concludes all this retro vibe.

This retro vibe you can find everywhere on this DLC.

And once you notice that, you open a new part of the story

that you probably didn't know.

That's all for this video, do not hesitate to say in comment which of these

details you already knew.

If you knew them all, which would surprise me, Well, say it too.

If you have others, share them too.

Maybe I'll have enough informations to do a second episode on the subject.

I hope you enjoyed it, it was Evilsquid.

I'll see you soon in a next video.

Cya!

Trump Backpedals on Russia Comments, High-Heel Crocs - Monologue - Duration: 3:37.

Let's get to the news.

President Trump created a stir

at a press conference with Vladimir Putin yesterday

when he said this about the hacking of the DNC server.

-I have President Putin. He just said it's not Russia.

I will say this. I don't see any reason why it would be.

-Well, today he set the record straight.

-In a key sentence in my remarks,

I said the word "would" instead of "wouldn't."

The sentence should have been,

"I don't see any reason why I wouldn't,"

or, "why it wouldn't be Russia."

So just to repeat it,

I said the word "would" instead of "wouldn't."

And the sentence should have been --

And I thought it would may be a little bit unclear

on the transcript or unclear on the actual video.

The sentence should have been,

"I don't see any reason why it wouldn't be Russia."

Sort of a double negative.

[ Laughter ]

-Well, I don't think he's not an idiot.

[ Laughter ]

Oh, my God, dude.

You would look more innocent

if you had just said, "Humina, humina, humina."

Your defense is that you meant

to say the opposite of what you said.

That's like Papa John claiming that he meant to say "whitey."

[ Laughter ]

That's right. President Trump claims

that he meant to say, "I don't see any reason

why it wouldn't be Russia who meddled in our election."

And Melania is now saying that at their wedding

she meant to say, "I don't."

[ Cheers and applause ]

President Trump said today that he misspoke

during his summit with Vladimir Putin,

blaming the confusion on a double negative.

And Trump's an expert on double negatives because he made one.

[ Laughter ]

After President Trump's press conference

with Russian President Vladimir Putin yesterday,

a House Republican said,

"The ghost of Reagan is probably mad as hell."

While the ghost of Trump is probably Slimer.

[ Laughter ]

During an interview with Vladimir Putin yesterday,

fox News host Chris Wallace tried to give Putin

a copy of the indictments of 12 Russian nationals

for meddling in the election.

And then Putin tried to get Wallace to...

[ Russian accent ] ...smell this cloth.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell

today warned Russia to not meddle

in the upcoming midterm elections,

and then he winked so hard, his neck got smooth.

[ Laughter ]

In honor of World Emoji Day,

Apple has announced it's adding cupcake,

kangaroo, and lettuce symbols.

A cupcake, a kangaroo, and lettuce,

or, as Outback Steakhouse calls it, a salad.

[ Laughter ]

Major League Baseball's Home Run Derby was last night on ESPN.

And over on Fox News, they were showing softball.

The makers of Crocs have announced

while the wearers of Crocs have announced

they're gonna give plaid shorts a try.

Tape Measure Crochet Case - Duration: 20:37.

Hello, I'm Regina Stein, from Ateliê MariaRê,

and in this class we'll learn how to make this measuring tape case.

MATERIAL

To make the measuring tape case, we'll need Bella's thread on colors 501,

243

and 2692.

We'll need a 2.5mm-long crochet's needle, of a darning and sewing needle,

of a button,

of embroidery thread of a light blue ball, a light blue felt flap

and a scissor.

BOX

Let's start by making a magic ring.

Let's fasten the thread

and, inside this ring, we'll make six single crochets.

After that, we'll pull the thread to close the ring.

And we'll finish the row with a slip stitch here on the side of the first stitch that we've made.

And the first row is done, we've six stitches.

The next row, which will be the second one, it'll all be made in increases.

It'll be six increases, by the end of the second row we'll have 12 stitches.

So, let's make a chain to mark the height and right next to it, we'll make the increase.

This is the first increase, let's make the second one.

And let's keep going on like this until the end of the row. We've finished the row,

let's close it with a slip stitch.

Now, let's make the third row. It'll have a sequence of a single crochet

followed by an increase, we'll repeat this sequence six times

and, by the end of the third row, we'll have 18 stitches. So, we'll make a chain

to mark the height and let's make the first single crochet. Then, an increase.

Once more, a single crochet.

An increase.

Let's keep going on with this sequence until the end of the row.

We've reached the end of the third row, we'll close it with a slip stitch, here,

with the first stitch, between the initial chain and the first stitch.

Now, let's make the fourth row. It'll have a sequence of two single crochets

followed by an increase, let's repeat this sequence six times

and, by the end of the fourth row, we'll have 24 stitches. So, let's make the chain here

to mark the first stitch's height and with it, we'll make the first stitch.

One more stitch.

Then, an increase.

One more time, two stitches.

Then, an increase.

Let's repeat this sequence until the end of the row. We've reached the end of the fourth row,

let's close it with a slip stitch and let's insert the needle between the chain

that we've made to mark the height and the first stitch, right here.

Let's make a slip stitch.

The next rows, from the fifth until the tenth, there won't be increases nor decreases.

We've here, by the end of the fourth row, 24 stitches, we'll keep these 24 stitches.

So, let's make a chain to mark the height

and let's start making single crochets until the end of the row.

We've reached the end of the fifth row, we'll close it with a slip stitch.

We'll keep working like this until the tenth row, always starting

each row with a chain to mark the first stitch's height

and closing it with a slip stitch, without increasing nor decreasing it and keeping the 24 stitches

until the end of the tenth row. We've reached the end of the tenth row,

we'll close it with a slip stitch.

Let's pull the thread, which is already cut,

and let's save this thread leftover to sew the lid on this part.

Now, let's make the lid.

LID

Let's start by making a magic ring.

And fastening the thread.

Then, let's make six single crochets inside this ring.

After that, we'll close the ring.

And we'll close this row with a slip stitch which will be made here,

between the chain and the single crochet that we've made.

So, it's closed and the first row is done, we've six stitches.

Now, we'll make the second row. It'll all be made in increases.

It'll be six increases, one over each of these stitches

and, by the end of the second row, we'll have 12 stitches.

So, let's make a chain to mark the first stitch's height

and, with it, we'll make the first increase.

In the next space, another increase.

And let's keep going on like this until the end of the row.

We've reached the end of the second row, we'll close it with a slip stitch.

Now, we'll make the third row.

It'll have a sequence of a single crochet followed by an increase

which will be repeated six times and, by the end of the third row, we'll have 18 stitches.

So, a chain to mark the height, a single crochet and, then, an increase.

Again, a single crochet.

And an increase.

Let's repeat this sequence until the end of the row.

We've reached the end of the third row, we'll close it with a slip stitch.

Now, we'll make the fourth row.

It'll have a sequence of two treble crochets followed by an increase

of treble crochets which will be repeated six times.

Then, we'll make two starting chains to mark the treble crochet's height.

We'll insert the needle with them.

We've three handles on the needle, let's pass the thread through them.

And we've made the first treble crochet. It's two, so, let's make

the loop, I insert the needle in the next stitch and we've three handles,

let's pull the thread through them. Two treble crochets.

Now, we'll make a treble crochet's increase, so, loop.

We've three handles, let's pull the thread through them. Since it's an increase, let's make

another treble crochet in the same space. So, loop, in the same space,

I take them out. Once more. Loop,

and we've a treble crochet, let's make the second one.

Then, a treble crochet's increase.

We've made the sequence twice, let's repeat it four more times.

We've reached the end of the fourth row, we've 24 stitches.

It's the last lid's row, so, we'll tie it up, close it with a slip stitch.

And now, we'll make a handle to pass the bottom. So, let's make eight chains.

And let's make a slip stitch over the lid.

Now, just pull this thread.

Now, we'll pass this thread, which is already cut,

through a darning needle and we'll hide it back here.

Now, we'll make a flower to put on the lid.

To make the flower, we'll make 15 chains.

Now, starting by the second chain from the needle, we'll make 13 single crochets.

Then, let's make a slip stitch on the last chain.

We'll cut this thread and pull it.

Now, we'll assemble our flower.

Let's pass this initial thread, the one that started the chains, which is smaller,

through a darning needle and let's hide it underneath the stitches.

Let's cut it.

Now, we'll pass this other thread's tip also through the needle.

We'll turn around this strip

and as we make this, we'll be making stitches down here

to form a rose.

Like this.

So, we'll go around once and fasten it.

One more.

And fasten it.

Just a few stitches, just to fasten the strip in place.

And, by the end of it, we'll fasten the tip.

Now, let's tie up the thread.

We'll hide it.

And cut it.

The flower is done, now let's make the leaves.

LEAVES

We'll start the leaf by making eight chains.

Now, we'll make a slip stitch in the first chain that was made.

We'll, again, make eight chains.

And let's make a slip stitch in the same place that we've made the other one.

The leaves are done, the thread is already cut, we'll pull it to tie it up.

Now, we'll fasten these leaves behind the flower.

The thread was passed through a needle,

we'll now lean the leaves here on the back of the flowers and we'll sew them up.

Since everything here is tiny, there's no need for many stitches.

Let's tie the thread up.

And let's cut it.

The flower is done, let's sew it up on the lid.

ASSEMBLY

Let's put the flower right here in the lid's center and let's fasten it with some stitches.

The flower is fastened, let's tie the thread up back here.

We'll turn the lid around, cut a blue felt circle that fits underneath these lid's

edge stitches and, with a needle with thin end, not the darning one anymore

because it has to pass through the felt, blue ball's embroidery thread with a knot at the tip,

we'll make some stitches here to fasten this felt on the bottom.

We'll just make stitches going through the lid and the felt here.

It isn't an embroidery thread, neither a butting stitch, just a simple stitch.

Being careful to not let the thread pass through the front side,

so it won't show up.

So, we'll make these stitches all around this felt circle.

When reaching the end, we'll tie this thread up.

And hide it underneath the felt.

The lid is done.

Now, let's sew it on the bottom part of the measuring tape case.

The thread is already in the needle, we'll lean the lid here

and we'll make three stitches getting the lid and the bottom part.

So, a stitch.

Two.

And three.

Here in the inside, we'll tie the thread up.

And we'll hide it underneath the stitches.

Now, let's pin the button, properly marking where it'll be. The handle is here,

the bottom will stay down here.

Let's pass the blue ball's embroidery thread through a needle with thin end,

let's make a knot at the tip

and fasten the thread here.

Now, let's put the button.

And let's tie the thread up back here.

Now, just hide it underneath the stitches.

And the measuring tape case is done. Now, we'll put a real measuring tape

here to check how it looks.

Here it is.

Let's close it.

And our box is done.

[SORI] Memories of Izakaya (Ft. Saein, yakitori) - Duration: 11:22.

Sori's YouTube Channel

(Don Quijote, redux!)

Did you get the shampoo?

Is that all you need?

That's it?

I'm gonna get some sheets (make up removal wipes)

I have that at home!

I bought these whenever I come to Japan.

Cleansing foam.

This is 445yen (around $4)

How many? 46 sheets?

This thing has 44 sheets and a little more expensive,

but Biore sheets are so soft.

(Autopilot engaged: to snack isle)

That's butter flavored.

This is same thing we had last night, but salted.

That looks dangerous.

Doesn't that look a bit risky?

So you've got two of those?

We just finished shopping at DonKi, (Don Quijote)

where we acquired some shampoo and bisco, something I've been jonesing for.

This is what reality is like:

People seem to buy tons of stuff from DonKi when they come to Japan.

At least the travelers do.

But when I lived in Japan, not only did I seldom come here, but didn't buy anything in bulk.

This is how much one who lives Japan would purchase.

Get some necessities like shampoo,

- and maybe something to snack o- - I come here to just buy q-tips.

which costs 98 yen (less than a buck)

So yeah, this is the true fuction of DonKi.

Hypothetically speaking if you come back to Korea,

you'll get tons of stuff from there when you visit Japan.

Donki-raid then?

Both conveni-raid and Donki-raid.

Raiding Don Quijote!

Now, let's head home.

Does this way require no transfer?

Alright, direct route finally!

I'm tired of transfers..

Can you dance for me once we go home?

Do I look like a private dancer to you?

Dance for me!

Apparently she wants me to show my moves.

- What the heck is thi- - Havana please.

I want some of that Bisco!

Wonder if it's gonna be good.

"Contains over 100 million probiotics"

This is more probiotics than a biscuit.

It's medicine.

It appears to be tons of people waiting for the train at this late hour.

- We have to get on the next train. - Seriously?

Only people on this row will get on.

Not the ones on the other row.

(Bisco(ff) demonstration)

(The most delicious medicine, ever!)

Are we gonna get off at Kawago?

(We hopped on the train!)

Sori's Japan trip

Day 1

We've once again returned to Saein's hood.

You guys are not bored of it already?

This looks good!

Saein's excuse of coming here was because "we didn't have any meat today."

We're gonna have some yakitori!

(OPEN)

(We've entered an izakaya in Japan) Where should I sit?

Ah, my back hurts!

- They've got citron, apple, and peach flavored drinks - Let's try'em.

They've got tons of selections

Order whatever you want.

Seems like you have a knack for ordering good stuff, Jyagabata earlier being one of 'em.

so 2 kushis... how many for the salted kind? (assorted ingredients on a stick)

One of each please!

(The most serious Saein has been all day ^^)

We've seriously ordered so much food just now.

Right now,

We're at an izakaya, which is something akin to a Japanese pub,

As I was recording this clip earlier....

So, when I was still in college,

I lived all by myself,

and there was this tiny little izakaya right next to my apartment.

It was like yaay big,

There were a couple seats by the counter,

and maybe 2 or 3 tables were available outside.

It was run by this old Japanese couple,

The guy's name was something like Tencho, anyways the couple ran the place,

I worked there part time for a little while. This place reminds me of that experience.

Delicious!

What is this supposed to be, fish?

It comes with dried daikon.

- This is Okra? - I hate those things

- These are delicious! - You can have all of 'em, Sori.

Cold jellyfish.

crunchy and chewy.

It's delicious, don't you like the texture?

- It's more about the texture than the flavor. - It doesn't have a particular flavor.

- Looks like some kind of dried fish. - I think it's dried shellfish.

Ah, is that supposed to be a shellfish?

Shellfish.

Gotta eat some veggies too!

I think this is onion salad.

(I'm not picky about food!)

Shishamo (willow leaf fish)

- and what's this supposed to be? - Torikawa senbei. (chicken rind senbei)

- And this? - Negima!

It's green onions, and momo (chicken leg meat)

chicken leg

- My face is so red right now. - I agree, it's so red.

So it's chicken and green onions

- Let's try them out. - Here's some salt too.

- Quite a gourmand you are!

This isn't available in South Korea.

It's mantle of chicken.

- Is it good? - There are eggs inside. - Eggs inside?

Start eating from the head.

It's delicious, but I cannot help feeling cruel.

Vicious!

-This is sooo good! - I know, right?

What cruel beings we are!

Daebak!

The bones are crunchy and delicious.

- Should I finish the rest in one bite? - Yeah, you should.

Today has been...

has been very pleasant.

Everything we did was great.

I went to Saein's work place,

and Asakusa,

even though I lived in Japan for quite some time, that was my first visit to it.

So I went to Asakusa too...

My favorite part of the day was going to Saein's office.

I realized how hard Saein has worked in Japan for 6 years,

I was able to witness the corporate culture in Japan for the first time.

I've experienced school life before,

and I experienced the working life here today,

It was a sphere where all women respect each other, was very friendly,

giggling all the time,

G-giggling?

It was fun.

I thought your workplace would be more rigid and dry,

It was more family-like, chattin and eating together...

Most people didn't even wear makeup,

Your colleagues felt more like friends

I got an impression that, they're all really nice people.

To witness such a scene was something new to me.

It was very fun.

Even though I lived in Japan for a long time.

that was the world I didn't know before.

I also got some free swag,

I'll try those clothes out and review them later.

-Everyone liked you too, they thought you're pretty. - Thank you very much.

Seems like K-pop is booming in Japan too, so...

I would like to come over here to perform more often in the future.

Would you like to come back again?

We've never hung out one-on-one like this, even back in high school

We only seriously hung out like once before.

- When you were in high school, you were busy cheer leading - That's right.

When I told you that I quit school, that was the only time we went out and hung out.

I still remember what you wore back then, you had a red t-shirt on...

with a pair of jeans with a belt yaaay thick.

Anyways, I had such a great time hanging out with you.

I get to visit your apartment too,

This has been a very fun and intimate journey.

those little things make it worth while.

And finally, thanks for being such a great camera woman.

(Journey down the road with Saein will continue on, Please stay tuned!)
