U.S. President Donald Trump seems to be taking a step back from his previous demands for

immediate denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula... as he said....

there's "no time limit" for ending North Korea's nuclear weapons program.

Here's our Oh Soo-young with more details.

President Trump has indicated he's not in a hurry to denuclearize North Korea.

Speaking to reporters at the White House Tuesday, Trump said there's "no time limit" nor a "speed

limit" on getting Pyongyang to abandon its nuclear weapons..

He was quick to add, however, that talks between the two sides are ongoing with American hostages

back from the North and no nuclear or missile tests in months.

Trump's remarks represent a shift in tone from just last month when the U.S. leader

said the process should start "without delay" and could begin "very quickly."

He has accused past U.S. governments of allowing the regime to buy time to build up its nuclear

arsenal,... by engaging in time-consuming step-by-step negotiations with the North.

In recent weeks, however, Trump himself has been on the receiving end of criticism,...

for a perceived lack of concrete progress after his June 12th summit with Kim Jong-un.

Their accord on denuclearization was largely seen as vague and short on detail.

A follow-up meeting between U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and North Korean officials

in Pyongyang this month also failed to produce specific agreements or a timeline on denuclearization.

Pompeo, however, has stressed he does not have a timeline for the North,... and with

President Trump's recent remarks that there's no rush,... observers are divided on whether

this is a negotiation tactic, or simply the administration's failure to narrow differences

with Pyongyang.

North Korea has called for a gradual denuclearization process met with synchronized concessions

from Washington.

Addressing the growing skepticism,...

President Trump said on Tuesday that his administration is "just going through the process" and that

"discussions are going very well."

North Korea to send back remains of 55 American soldiers killed during Korean War: report - Duration: 0:42.

North Korea has agreed to return to the U.S.,... the remains of 55 American troops who were

killed during the Korean War after the two sides met for working-level talks on Monday.

the remains will be flown out of the North, either to Osan Air Base in South Korea or

Hawaii.

The Strange Magic Of YouTube's '80s Remix Culture - Duration: 11:58.

The Strange Magic Of YouTube's '80s Remix Culture

Whether you thought of the 2000s emo-punk boom as watershed moment or the nadir of modern music, there's one song from that era that's hard to forget.

Fall Out Boy's first major hit, "Sugar, We're Goin Down," became an anthem for scrappy underdogs when it arrived in 2005, and its sound is still unmistakable: churning guitars, piano twinkles and Patrick Stump's roller-coaster vocals, kicked off by two bars of tripping-over-your-own-feet drums.

The instant it starts, you know what you're hearing.

In early June, a fan-made remix of "Sugar, We're Goin Down" popped up on YouTube.

Slower and more wistful, this version wraps Stump's vocal track in gauzy synths, cascading harmonies and a synthetic sax solo — and rather than defiant, it plays like the sonic embodiment of an unrealized crush, all lovelorn and yearning.

By the time the chorus hits, it's clear we're not in the LiveJournal era anymore: This is the kind of pastel-hued song that could soundtrack an awkward junior high slow dance in 1986.

The "80s remix" of "Sugar, We're Goin Down" is the creation of a musician from Norrköping, Sweden, named Johan Olsson.

The 23-year-old multi-instrumentalist — he plays guitar, piano and bass and also sings — has his own band, ms.

mullins.

(The group's debut EP was released June 29, and a lush, dream-pop single, "7 Years," is streaming now).

Olsson decided to create this remix after encountering a YouTube video of Stump's isolated vocal track.

"I started trying out some chords, and it just evolved from there.

REO Speedwagon was one of the main inspirations," he tells NPR Music.

His Fall Out Boy experiment is his second viral hit this year, following a rework of Green Day's "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" that exudes Miami Vice intrigue rather than suburban ennui.

Olsson is not the only musician dabbling in this era.

Search the phrase "80s remix" or "80s version" on YouTube and you'll find thousands of synth-drenched takes on modern pop and rock songs.

The trend began bubbling up in earnest in 2016, when a Canadian musician and software developer named Jerry Shen, who runs a YouTube channel under the name TRONICBOX, found Internet fame with two Justin Bieber remixes: "What Do You Mean It's 1985?," a reimagining of the titular 2015 hit, and a sitcom-theme take on "Love Yourself.

Today, TRONICBOX, whose catalog also includes a neon-hued Ariana Grande's "One Last Time" and an even more melodramatic Gotye's "Somebody That I Used To Know," has amassed more than 27 million views with a catalog dozens of uploads deep.

Popular peers DUBSPILLAZ and the endearingly named TotallyRad80sChannel are even more prolific.

Others are choosier: GK Starwalker has just two tracks, and only the pulsating "1987 Version" of Miley Cyrus' "Wrecking Ball" has any traction.

(Consider this perhaps the digital equivalent of a one-hit wonder.).

Remaking popular songs in incongruous styles is a practice as old as elevator music, and its standouts tend to trade on novelty.

Consider "Weird Al" Yankovic's gleeful polka hits medleys, or the U.K.

troupe Mike Flowers Pops, which does cheeky lounge versions of popular songs (notably Oasis' "Wonderwall"), or the long running Punk Goes.

compilation series where young, loud bands tackle the pop canon.

The digital mix-and-match of familiar sounds has an immediate ancestor in 2000s mashup culture: Think of the genre clashes of 2manydjs and The Hood Internet, or the revelatory hip-hop/Beatles conflation of Danger Mouse's The Grey Album.

Mashup superstar Girl Talk even sampled the "Sugar, We're Goin Down" drums in his own "Smash Your Head.".

And yet, '80s remix culture feels distinctly of its moment.

Many of the videos extend their concept to the thumbnail art, where Photoshopped visions of Katy Perry in spandex workout wear, Rihanna with teased hair or Justin Bieber with a mullet are adorned with fake artist logos in neon colors and bubbly fonts — a cousin of the absurdist mock-ups that light up social media.

Moreover, creators and listeners are in on the humor together: As with any good meme, appreciating these remixes involves a shared in-joke.

"Definitely my favorite singer from that decade," one listener deadpans in the comments section of a take on Ed Sheeran's "Shape Of You" that recalls snappy Minneapolis funk.

"What is he doing now? He kind of fell off the radar after 1994.".

"I get a lot of comments saying 'WHY DOES THIS WORK?' " Johan Olsson says.

"Besides the '80s sound and fashion being pretty popular at the moment, I think it's mainly the fact that people like hearing songs from a whole new perspective." That said, not all remixes are created equal: There is an art to combining musical styles, and the most transcendent revamps demonstrate obvious artistic expertise and ingenuity.

It helps if the source material can withstand manipulation and still maintain its emotional essence; SxAde's remix of Lana Del Rey's "Summertime Sadness" is Exhibit A.

The element of surprise is a plus: It's not obvious that Linkin Park's "Numb" could successfully pair with glittering, Stock Aitken Waterman-esque production, but here we are.

Clever visuals can help, too: Calvin Harris and Rihanna's "This Is What You Came For" feels like a forbidden late-night cable access show thanks to the way YouTuber Saint-Laurent adds static and VHS degradation to the song's original clip.

In TV shows such as Stranger Things and GLOW, the cult genre vaporwave and the steamrolling persistence of Toto's "Africa," the 1980s are alive and well — but there is something exceptional in how YouTube remixers commit to the era's limitations.

Synthesizers like the era-defining DX7 had a certain charming clunkiness, and a shared aesthetic of squiggly stabs, percussion rattles and bass slaps proliferated in '80s pop production.

Although today's pop music certainly has its unique inventions (trap, for example, is having a mainstream moment right now), the trends tend to be more more ephemeral: It's harder to point to a focused, dominant sound that can vividly evoke the 2010s.

For as faithfully as they recreate their namesake, YouTube's '80s remixes actually remind me of a more recent moment.

The internet music culture of the late '90s and early 2000s was a period of rapid transformation, but even as illegal file sharing accelerated music discovery, the shortcomings of the technology kept things grounded.

MP3 collections took up vast amounts of digital space and were playable only via certain programs.

And, like record store crate-digging excursions, online hunts didn't always pan out: You might spend hours downloading a song, only to find out it had been mislabeled.

These '80s remixes are also renegade efforts, albeit made with love, and too exist only within a limited framework.

They're not for sale, and in most cases can only be streamed, not downloaded.

Sifting through dozens of re-dos to find the true gems requires patience, and leaves room for the chance that a listener might stumble on something enchanting and different.

Especially for listeners too young to have firsthand '80s nostalgia, the longing they provoke is for the early promise of music on the Internet: the pre-streaming, pre-algorithm days when throwing yourself into exploration yielded mind-expanding dividends.

I HAVE PLANS ON DOING A 6 DAY DRY FAST - Duration: 5:36.

hey guys I have plans on doing another dry fast this dry fast is gonna be for

safe days yes I said six days by the time you see this video I probably will

be done with the six day dry fast so you can refer to that six day dry pass if I

complete it which I should because I'm trying to use that dry pass to

kick-start after I'm done with the dry pass back on the juice in and then go on

to 30 days just juicing because what people don't understand is when you

start a juice I mean the dry pass you're just so happy to get water in

your system that that's the best time to juice is when you finish a water fat I

keep saying water fast and all these other words a dry pass that means no

water and no food for six days when you do a dry fast like I just said again you

are just so glad to get water in you that if you didn't have a solid meal the

day that you broke your fast on the drive fast and all you have was a fresh

juice you'll be okay with it so I'm going to biggest cross do the six day

drive fast it'll be on my homepage of my channel you'll be able to find my drive

fast for six day videos and the wins I'll make playlists for that or you can

look in the playlists tab of my channel what what I do now is like because I try

to make things accessible for my viewers and my potential subscribers I try to

put my playlist things that I think that you would like to watch on the home page

so once you come on to my channel you see all the playlists my dry fast water

fast even dry pass from people who are just

friends that met on YouTube that I support I even put

their videos up there I share the wealth anything to motivate my people I'm all

for it so like I said very soon I'll be doing a 6 day drive fast so long as I've

ever did was a hundred and twenty hours five day walk more than fast I can't do

water fast I get too hungry a five day drive fast and I completed it with

flying colors I'm gonna do a six day drive fast I was looking at a video

today was supposed to be starting Sunday by the time you see this video like I

said before I should be done with the six day drive fast if you missed the six

day drive fast keep in mind if you go to the homepage of my channel you will see

the playlist for the six days if I even make it six days of the day one today

six with the weigh-ins of how much I lost each day while on the dry path so

I'm really excited to stop this because I've been juicing 32 ounces of juice per

day but the thing about that is I haven't been feeling hungry but I still

been eating solid foods and processed snacks in between and I'm getting my

nutrients for the day from the juices because obviously I'm getting the

nutrients because I'm not feeling signs of hungry hunger but I'm still eating

junk on top of good nutrients that I'm putting in my body from the juicing so

it defeats the purpose and my energy level is not it's very low I'm barely

working out which is a horrible thing because I can remember that I used to

get up seven days a week and work out two hours a day now I'm lucky if I even

work out now ah now thinking hopefully before I get your shower tonight because

I like to take at least two showers a day if

hot like in the summer time maybe three TMI too much information but I might

work out an hour I my energy is not that bad

today as I speak about it on this video I think even though it's like almost

4:00 Eastern Standard Time I think that I could Franco or work out for an hour

and then get your shower and then feel like I'm the shit because I did my

workout but I don't know so we'll see so yes be looking out for the next cots

weight loss stuff that I do I'm always doing something that's outside the box

and you could be outside the box two of you subscribe to this channel I will

uplift you and you could be on your way to greatness I'm on my way to greatness

and not being yet but I'm trying to get there I'm not trying I'm doing so with

all that being said subscribe to the channel like this video make sure you

leave a like share this video and make this a favorite put this on one of your

playlists
