Hey everyone, I'm Fred
and I'm Ant
and today we're gonna be talking about
the Rurock RG1-DX helmets
and how they relate to electric skateboarding
So we've gotten a heap of questions
about these helmets
ever since we featured one in our
electric skateboard versus go-kart video
So Rurock originally designed these helmets
for snowboarding
but they have become super popular for e skating
So today we'll be talking about some of the features
of these helmets as well as
running them through a couple of practical tests
to see how they go on e boards
We'll also be answering some of the popular questions
like "are they easy to wear?"
and "how comfortable are they?"
yeah and stick around to the end of the video
because we're going to give you a chance
to win one of these bad boys
So what's in the box?
Well you get the helmet and the goggles
and the face mask
You also get a bag for your helmet
and a bag for your goggles
which can flip inside out
to give you a little microfiber cloth
they also include a guide
and some stickers
and a little pack to make it easy
if you want a refund or an exchange
and the most important piece
a little helmet shaped bottle opener
So the helmet comes in a number
of styles and designs
So for example we have the Onyx one here
and the Chrome here
the Chrome is a special edition
and only comes in a limited number
The helmet weighs about 700 grams
and has a number of safety ratings
for both snow and road sports
The helmet has an ABS outer shell
and an internal EPS energy absorption liner
So the goggles have this nifty
magnetic lock and clip system
which makes it really easy to replace the lenses
and that's because Rurock have
a number of different types
So depending on the conditions
you can swap them out as you see fit
So Rurock have this ventilation system
that they call R.A.I.D
it's basically a bunch of vents
that creates a vacuum and sucks out all the moisture
So your head doesn't get all gross and sweaty
and your goggles don't fog up
There is another nifty little feature
on these helmets
and that is that the visors come off
too reveal a mount for an
action camera like a GoPro
That's awesome because you can film your adventures
nice and easily
without having to stick a whole bunch of
extra mounts all over the helmet
Other things worth mentioning
is the chinstrap has
a comfortable little cover on it
which makes it easy to wear
and the special editions do come with
a magnetic clasp
Also the goggles have silicon on
the inside of the strap
which means that they will stay in place
and won't come off while you are riding
So first up we looked at overall comfort
and for an all-encompassing helmet
these things are surprisingly light and comfortable
There's plenty of space around your ears and mouth
and they still fit snugly and comfortably
around your head
We also tried it in a couple
of different configurations
Snowboarding is different to electric skateboarding
so we wanted to see how it went
without the goggles and without the face mask
So without the face mask or the goggles
these things feel like any other
top quality street helmet
We also put our sunglasses on
and they fit no worries
A lot of people ask about how hot these helmets get
Look if you are riding in a hot climate
and you're riding for a long period of time
they can become a bit warm
I personally didn't find them to hot
That R.A.I.D system we mentioned earlier on
does pump a lot of air through the helmet
and it is quite pleasant
but if you do find it getting too warm
you can always pop the goggles
and the face mask off
A lot of people ask about ease-of-use
because there are a couple of bits and pieces
to these things
That's right because there is a certain way
that the goggles and the facemask lock together
in order to ensure that correct airflow
It's actually pretty easy
you just put on the helmet then the mask
then the goggles and clip the goggles behind the mask
The face mask is also easy to use
you get used to it really quickly
after just a couple of goes
So I've seen these helmet for a couple of years
but I'd never worn one until now
and I've got to say I'm actually surprised
I quite like it
It is comfortable and it is really versatile
So when it gets cold
you can keep the face mask and goggles on
When it gets really warm
you can pop them off
and you've got a great street helmet for your e-board
Yeah totally these helmets are super comfy
but the number one thing for me is
they just look sick
they come in a bunch of different colors
so you can suit the helmet to your style
So as promised
we'll be giving away one of these bad boys
all you got to do is subscribe to the channel
and tell us in the comments
why you would love one of these helmets
That's right and the best answers gonna win it
