Nigerian soldiers grow desperate in fight against Boko Haram | DW News - Duration: 3:12.

A few months ahead of presidential elections in Nigeria, Boko Haram jihadists have killed

dozens of soldiers and civilians in the north of the country.

President Muhammadu Buhari is under fire for his failure to defeat the insurgents.

The remains of a village in North-East Nigeria, just a few kilometers away from the regional

capital Maiduguri.

Jihadists came on motorbikes in broad daylight – kidnapping 12 farmers and killing nine

who refused to come with them.

They slapped me first and shot my husband in front of me.

They took my phone, my money, and my shoes.

Then they started beating me and told me to go home immediately.

The day before that attack, Boko Haram struck this Nigerian military base close to the border

with Chad.

This video – allegedly filmed by a soldier – triggered huge discussions on social media

in Nigeria.

Eyewitness say about 100 soldiers were killed and several abducted.

Some soldiers themselves feel abandoned by their government.

Imagine, they are killing us every day.

A soldier will be at the war front – no helmet, no flak jacket, not enough amination.

We are fighting to defend our country – and the generals are cheating us.

The Nigerian army confirmed that the military base was attacked – but has refused to comment

on the casualties.

For security expert and retired Colonel Yomi Dare, the attack is a huge embarrassment for

the armed forces.

For a soldier making such allegations, I think something is really wrong.

Something is not right somewhere.

I think it is high time that the military authority puts up a transparent and accountable

system.

So when things that are meant for the troops, they should ensure that those things really

get there.

And are delivered especially to the front line.

Nigeria's president Muhammadu Buhari won the 2015 elections on the promise of ending

the fight against Boko Haram.

Despite first successes - Dare doesn't see a quick end to the crisis.

Getting an insurgency to an end is a tall order.

Let nobody be deceived.

Unfortunately, people want to play politics with everything.

I don't think this is where the politicians should come and start talking.

Because this is a war – and we should not toy with it at all."

More than 20,000 people have been killed since the Boko Haram insurgency started almost a

decade ago.

With presidential elections scheduled early next year – Nigerians living in areas still

terrorized by Boko Haram are asking, who will finally be able to stop these killings?

Hello everybody Jorphdan here the PH is silent.

Welcome one and all, for today's lecture on Forgotten Realms history revolves around

the Halfling.

History does not record exactly when halflings first appeared on Toril, but it was around

the same time as Dwarves, Elves, and Giants.

They first appeared south of Shaar, and few halflings were seen in the early years until

a great civil war occured within the Halfling tribes which spread them out further into

Faerun.

Halflings are short.

They stand somewhere around 3 feet tall and weigh about 30-35 lbs.

They very much resemble humans but with smaller proportions than a typical human adult.

Halfling men can't grow facial hair except for sideburns which is why you don't see

a lot of bearded halflings.

Their lifespan is a bit longer than your average human living into their 150s.

Halflings are fun!

They are joyful and friendly.

They are said to appear deceptively harmless, often beyond the notice of enemies.

Nobody seems to think a Halfling would pose much of a threat, but with their cunning personalities

those people would be wrong.

Halflings live in the now, taking in pleasures around them they focus on where they are and

whom they are with.

Some Halflings become adventurers but in reality they are content to stay home.

Which I find odd because I read that most Halflings are nomadic, and never stay in the

same place longer than 6-8 months.

Halflings love clothing, food, drink, and are enthusiastic collectors.

Many of their most beloved items are those won through skill and daring.

They aren't much for wearing jewelry but they would love to sit down with you and go

through their collection of rings they won in a game of chance.

There are three major types of halflings within the Forgotten Realms.

The Lightfoot halfling, the strongheart halfling, and the ghostwise halfling.

These sub races of halfling were once various tribes that lived in Luiren and the surrounding

areas.

At the time this was unsettled wilderness and the three nomadic tribes defended their

woodlands against intruders.

However!

Corruption set in around -100 DR when an evil spirit entered the forest.

A ghostwise halfling cleric named Desva started worshiping the evil deity Malar.

Desva became leader of the ghostwise tribe and led them into darkness.

Glorifying violence and bloodshed the ghostwise halflings became feral hunters killing everything.

They painted their faces as skulls and some of them even learned how to take the shape

of werewolves.

Lluirwood, the forest just north of Luiren was chaos and bloodshed until -68 DR when

another halfling named Chand became the warchief for his people.

He struck an alliance with the tribes and united the Strongheart and Lightfoot clans.

They fought back against Desva and the Ghostwise halflings that worshiped Malar.

For three years the war raged until Chand defeated Desva in -65 DR.

This time was known as the Ghostwars.

The remaining ghostwise halflings, of which there were not many left, were exiled from

the forest but those who turned their back on Desva and Malar were allowed to stay.

Many left and settled in Chondalwood, taking an oath to never speak until they had atoned

for their savagery.

They have since reconciled their sins but the Ghostwise Halfling still don't talk

much, being very careful with their words when they do speak.

The Halflings started farming, and cultivated the land around Lluirwood creating a great

Halfling empire in Luiren.

Predominantly stronghearts live here but a few lightfoots and even some ghostwise halflings

have made their way back to Luiren.

These halflings became farmers, and crafts folk, even some merchants as Luiren grew.

It was after the Ghostwars that many Halflings left the area and settled west in Faerun.

Choosing to live in cities populated by Dwarves and Men, finding new homes for themselves.

Ghostwise halflings today are often barbarians, rogues, druids, rangers, and even clerics.

All halflings have a wanderlust but Ghostwise Halflings keep their nomadic lifestyle within

the borders of the Chondalwood forest.

Many Ghostwise Halflings do not have relations with other humanoid races unless necessary.

They avoid others, experts at hiding within the forest.

Lightfoot halflings are the small folk that Faerun is more familiar with it.

They are the most numerous and well traveled of the halfling subraces.

After the Ghostwars a large chunk of the lightfoot halflings left Luiren, they were horrified

what Chand and the stronghearts had done despite the problems the Ghostwise halflings were

causing.

You'll find lightfoot halflings often take up the profession of rogue or bard in their

travels.

They adopt the culture of the people they are with, there are those who live among humans,

and those who live with other halflings.

Since the spellplague the kingdom of Luiren sunk into the Great Sea.

Making Amn the nation with the greatest concentrations of Halflings.

They became successful merchants, and craftsmen within Amn.

However during the Sundering the waters receded and many halflings have started populting

their home of Luiren again.

Finally the strongheart halflings.

They are native to Luiren and have remained in their homeland after the Ghostwars.

Before the wars the stronghearts were very nomadic like the lightfoots but after the

conflict their lifestyle shifted.

The stronghearts became very solidified in their community and their land.

They realize they must be able to defend their homeland at a moments notice.

Gnolls, and terrible beasts lurk in the woods surrounding Luiren.

The strongheart halflings have learned from bitter experience that it's best to be prepared.

Earlier I said I'd like to run a dwarf only campaign, now I'd really love a halfling

only campaign.

Maybe set your game during the Ghostwars and have a group of halflings sent by Chand to

sabotage the Ghostwise tribe allowing victory during the war.

That's part of the fun of the Forgotten Realms is going back and playing or recreating

those older battles.

How to overcome this fear?

Sadhguru: You cannot overcome something which does not exist.

Right now, are you in fear?

Right now, that I may say something damaging?

Is that the fear?

(Laughs) Every moment of your life, you are in fear?

No.

So, when you are not in fear, just stay like that

because to create fear, you have to use excessive imagination.

To not be in fear, you don't have to do anything.

Fear is happening because of excessive imagination things that have not happened, you are creating.

What may happen in your mind happens in thousand different formats

and most probably it never happens.

The things that you have feared Take hundred things that you have feared.

Probably ninety nine of them never happened, isn't it?

Yes?

So, your fear is always about that which does not exist.

You cannot fight or you cannot overcome that which does not exist.

We can overcome something which… that exists.

You cannot overcome that which does not exist.

We just have to give up that effort.

Enjoy the fear.

After all, it's your making.

You like horror movies?

Fear means you're producing horror movies in your mind.

You are asking this question, it's good, but you must first understand, somewhere it's

spread around in this world; in the society that fear is some kind of a virtue.

Fear is not a virtue; fear makes you into the ugliest possible creature.

Most unpleasant experience in your life is probably fear.

That one thing not being there has made my life totally (Laughs), absolutely pleasant

because fear is about something that is yet to be.

Fear is about something that does not exist right now.

What will happen is the thing.

What will happen, you do not know.

When you do not know, what you will write on the damn paper, something that you've

learnt a whole year, you still do not know what you will write.

When this is the thing, what will happen in your life, you for sure do not know, isn't

it?

But you're imagining all the horrible things that will happen post examination.

No, post examination, there's a wonderful vacation.

Then there's one day, they'll announce result.

My tenth standard exam results, I did not go to see.

My twelfth standard examination results I did not go to see.

Then they will tell somebody that they know, they will send word, they must have gone seen

what has happened to his result.

Now the thing is just this – are you going to school to learn something or are you going

to school to prove something?

This is the thing that you have to decide, everybody must decide.

Have you come to the ashram to know something or to prove something, you must decide this.

Time 3:42 Once you go to any place to prove something

about yourself, sickness will set in - sickness of failure and success will set in.

For one who wants to learn, there is no sa… such thing as failure, there is no such thing

as success, just a question of striving.

Somebody may get it in one day, I may get it in ten days, somebody may get it in hundred

days, it's just a question of striving.

If your interest is to learn, striving itself is learning.

To be able to strive relentlessly itself is a huge learning, isn't it?

So don't try to prove anything.

Don't try to improve your memory, please.

You went to school not to remember some rubbish - to learn something, to enhance the horizons

of your life, you had to know and understand something about this existence around you.

This is what is science, this is what is mathematics, this is what everything is, what you are studying

is not some subject, it's… it's different pieces of life may be presented in a most

unde… uninteresting way but still it's life, yes?

Whether you study phasi… physics or chemistry or biology or social sciences or geography

– you're learning something that could enhance the scope and play of your life.

So you have to learn it.

If you remember it, it will not transform your life in anyway.

So you went there to learn.

If you have learnt, what's the problem - what you know you write, what you don't know,

you want to copy from that guy next (Laughter)?

I will not talk about all those things because many times teachers it seems are encouraging

these things.

Getting a few marks more or less in tenth standard is not going to make so much of a

difference.

How much you learn, will make a world of a difference, how many things you grasped right

now fundamentals will make a big difference.

Right now focus on that.

Maybe the damn twelfth standard tch, because today in India, if you want to go to medical

sciences you must have… people from outside the country cannot believe this – you must

get ninety-eight.

Ninety-seven percent, you have nowhere to go.

How sensibly, how wonderfully, with how much competence you live your life is important,

how much you remember is not important.

I don't remember a damn thing.

That's why I can sit here and gossip with you simply (Laughs) about anything because

there's no burden of remembering anything.

So, no anti-diarrheal tablets and don't worry about your memory - what you know, you

will do, what you do not know, anyway you cannot do but if you know how to copy (Laughter)

it's up to you (Laughter).

I wouldn't do it and I'm sure our teachers will not allow it because at this stage in

your life, you don't start your life with deception.

At least be…

I'm not talking about honesty; I'm talking about learning to be straight with life so

that tomorrow you don't get all twisted out for

small things.

But you're okay, this is how I am.

I get only thirty-five, it's okay, this is how I am.

This will not determine the quality of my life.

I want you to understand this.

What marks you get will not determine the quality of your life but with how much integrity

you exist will definitely determine the quality of your life.

How does fear get into the game (Few laugh)?

Let's look at this- Essentially… please look at this carefully, every one of you.

Fear is always about the next moment, never about what is there right now.

"What will happen?" is the fear, isn't it?

What is there, there is no fear, whatever is there.

Life is there, death is there, disease is there – for what is there, there is no fear.

What will happen is always the fear.

So fear is about something that is yet to be, or something that does not exist.

How to handle a consequence of something that does not exist?

Please don't handle it, just let it be.

Because first thing is, you cannot even handle that which is not, but now you're trying to

handle the shadow of that which is not (Few laugh).

So, don't try to handle your fears.

Essentially, what you're saying is – my thoughts and my emotions are going out of

control.

My memory and my imagination is going out of control.

This is the biggest human problem right now the greatest faculties that we have, which

makes us human, which sets us apart among all other creatures is

we have a vivid sense of memory and a fantastic sense of imagination.

So, memories of past failures hurt us, imaginations of failures that yet to be, terrorize us.

So essentially, you are involved in the goal, not in the process.

Process, it is the process which takes you to a certain goal.

Goal is just an imagination.

You are wrestling with that which does not exist.

So you're not having any problem with life or with the game,

your problem is your imagination is going out of control,

that's because people have taught you always to win the game.

prisons both in India and United States I find these prisoners when I am there

for those 5-6 days with them they just wonderful guys okay they're great

company really they're great company because very intense people and when I

go there I spend the whole day with them and I have my own way I have my own

back-alley jokes for them and stories for them I am very much a part of them

because they're very intense and wonderful guys it's just that one part

of them is out of control otherwise you will say criminals are wonderful people

they're hugely capable people you should see the you know innovativeness of this

guys you give him a pin he will make something else out of it a

great tool lot of it you know I saw one man in the United States in the Kentucky

Correctional Center this guy has a passion for tattooing everybody

tattooing is banned in the prison okay every time they catch him they take away

things but he invents new ways of manufacturing permanent ink and rails

new new ways okay impossible ways they told me how many different ways he made

this ink from what is available in the prison okay she could be genius outside

but the problem means buying is become a criminal the problem is just this

limited responsibility he thinks he is only responsible for himself not for

that one why is it that you can rob this one harm this one kill this one why

because you think that life is not my responsibility

isn't it I am only responsible for this one limited responsibility he is the

it happening but now once it happened Shankaran Pillai his only son went to

Africa

as an IT professional you know Indians

he went there and he made friends with local guys and one day his friend told

him that in this weekend he is going to visit his family which doctor

and he invited Shankaran Pillai son you can also come if you wish to he is quite

a miraculous man so he went along there he went and saw the witch doctor was

mumbling away like only an African witch doctor can mumble and all kinds of you

know skulls and gods and all kinds of stuff then he was amazed with the things

that were happening there then the friend said you can ask what you want

and he will give it to you so Shankaran Pillai he was missing his parents so he

thought about his father his father was always regretting that he's getting all

he wants to get back his youth so he asked the witch doctor can you make my

parents young so witch doctor mumbled away like crazy and then pulled out some

black deadly looking balls a few of them put it in a bottle and said give them to

your parents it'll take years of their life so he packed it properly and

FedExed it to India

and after three months his project is over he came back home he came home went

into the house the doors were open he walked in then there was a young man you

know taking care of an infant he went in and asked who are you where's my father

with my mother

Shankaran Pillai said hey it's me he's become a young man Oh father I'm so

happy for you you look anger than myself but where is mom he pointed at the

infant and said that's her she took three pills everything in excess isn't

it simply because you think the rest of the creation is not your responsibility

that's why you're in excess isn't it if you saw you're truly responsible does

somebody have to be tell you be good to others be gentle walk gently on this

planet is it necessary if you really felt this is my responsibility

there was no necessary for any no need for anybody to come and tell you how to

be on this planet you know how to be isn't it some responsibility is what you

are using to draw boundaries if you make your responsibilities limitless there

are no boundaries upon you the boundaries are drawn in your mind

isn't it so yes do you want to be a limited human being or an unlimited

human being what is the difference between you and the people whom you

worship just see you are Krishna you're Rama you're Buddha your Jesus or whoever

you worship what's the difference between you and them they all had eight

eight hands and did more work than you is it so most of them did not even know

they're living they ate in other people's homes and went away isn't it

but you worship them why they lived in unlimited responsibility if they never

had unlimited capability but they lived in unlimited responsibility so you

worshiping them you are living in limited responsibility

who put this limit on you tell me what's the advantage is there any advantage you

just suffocating yourself with it that's all you know there's something

called home sweet home that is your house is built out of candy is that what

it means

wherever you go you come back to this particular building and suddenly if you

have why you taken full responsibility for that place there you are at ease

other places you are walking like a stranger you're never at ease now if

your responsibility is limitless wherever you are you're perfectly at

home is it not important that you walk on this planet with a huge sense of

belonging and ease and joy should it happen only inside this particular

building is it not important that you walk this planet with total ease and

joyfulness both for your own sake and for the sake of that must fear a joyless

space is the worst crime on the planet yes the worst crime that you can commit

on this planet 'is you walk around with a joyless face because the whole world

is trying to be happy isn't it if you are creating an atmosphere of

unhappiness isn't this the worst crime against humanity yes or no it is not

murder robbery which is the worst crime joyless faces on the planet as the most

horrible crime a large population in the world is committing this crime on a

daily basis moment to moment

now whatever you call is God does God have total control over

everything that you do right now does he have

I'm asking you a simple question does God have total control over what your

going to think now and do not know but somehow we worship Him because they

believe he is responsible for everything isn't it you can become in such a way

this is so simple you just walk with utter responsibility you will see within

a short time people around you annoyingly will become worshipful

towards you annoyingly they don't even know why but they will become worshipful

towards you simply because you are walking without any barriers on yourself

without any boundaries for yourself you will see unknowingly people will start

becoming merciful towards you

DIY Santa Slime | Christmas Crafts | Michaels - Duration: 2:09.

Make it Easy Santa Slime

Start with a 5 oz bottle of Elmer's Clear Glue.

Add baking soda.

Add red food coloring.

Add contact lens solution.

Flatten out the slime.

Add fine and chunky glitter.

Work the glitter into the slime.

Add sequins.

Cut a strip from the black adhesive foam sheet.

Use the strip to measure and cut a small foam square.

Wrap the foam strip around the center of a plastic jar.

Place your black foam square on a sheet of Gold glitter foam, and cut a larger square around it (about 1 inch).

Apply to the jar to create a buckle.

Use the lid form your jar to trace a circle onto the back of your red adhesive felt.

Cut our the circle.

Peel the felt from its backing and apply it to your jar's lid.

Use glue to attach one 2 inch red pom-pom in the center of the lid.

Fasten a 1 inch white pom-pom on top of the red one.

Put your slime in the jar.

Changing some fluids and figuring why Audi S2 won't start - Duration: 19:07.

Hello, I'm Asko and welcome to a new episode

and now we begin the S2 restoration

this is the first evening that we are working with it

I have already checked the error codes from the ECU

and I have some clues what could be the reason why it won't start

I talked with the previous owner

and we prolly figured what could be the failure.

Thanks to all that have left a comment to previous episode

please leave comments in future also, it's been nice to read those

altho I don't react to everyone as time is limited

but write those comments, thanks.

and if You see me doing something stupid write a comment so we don't mess up anything

Most of the time I really don't know what I'm doing

I try to get information as much as possible from the internet but as everyone knows that doesn't tell everything

but anyway, now we try to get that engine running

and before that we change all fluids that can be changed on the engine side.

With brake fuilds I'll just take out what I can from the reservoir and fill that up

everything else will be changed thoroughly

Sorry if camera shakes a bit, but my gimball is on charge so I cannot use that now

That's all fluids we are about to change

this one is for mechanic..

I got VAG's original hydraulic fluid for the power steering pump

and that pump handels steering and brake boosting

red from the internet that this oil should be a quality one

and I wasn't sure what to put in and could you use this febi one

That's 3€ less per liter as the VAG oil

So that was not a big deal as pricewise.

Atleast we should be using a correct one.

Manual says that you should use G002000 oil

which is some old mineral oil

and VAG has updated that number to this G004000M2

So hope this one is a correct one...

we have also a new oil filter

and this cheap engine 5W40 oil

also got some distilled water

and that mixes with coolant

this time we don't put tap water

we'll flush the whole system as at the time theres old G10 coolant which are blue

Think you can mix that new one with the old

but we'll flush the whole system with tap water

if we get that engine running

But the failure what we have could be that sensor over here

Theres a engine speed sensor near flyhweel

I speaked with previous owner and he thought

the flywheel have metal pin and that could be got loose

and that's why theres no signal from the sensor

this is the old double mass flywheel

now there is a single mass with sinter clutch plate

that's the pin that could be loose

so we need to check that from the new one

so if theres no pin we need to find it

that's prolly still there on the bottom of the housing

if that's the case, we have to see if we get that back through that sensor hole

we also have to be sure that it holds there afterwards...

but anyway it could be that sensor related thing why it won't start

altho there was also one code related to throttle body

and this wiring mess could be reason for that..

I cleaned the engine bay earlier and that's why

I have the coils unplugged

Those needs to be dried...

but...

let's get started, think first I take the radiator off

so we have better access to those sensors

Radiator is off and coolant is drained

Emptied the brake fluid reservoir

and

that's also now empty

There was just a hint of oil and it was pitch black

and discovered that

there is a leak in the brake bomb hose

those return line hoses have also leaks

I'll take those off and get those repaired

If that middle t-section can be reused

Hope they can press new clamps on in that local shop

if can't then we use just regular ones

as theres no pressure on those lines

but I'll take those off and already took the sensors out

that pin was there

you can see that on the middle

so prolly it's just too far from the sensor

and that why it won't get the signal

there was a o-ring above the sensor

so we can take that off

and see if that helps

sensor was also bit offset because of that o-ring

so we hope for the best

but I have to rotate the engine

so I get that pin on the right place

then I can measure the distance between tranmission and sensor

after that we can do some adjustments

anyway I take that hose thingy off

that one banjo on steering rack could be quite interesting to take off

ok that thingy is now off

and it need new hoses

think these are just regular 8-10mm hose

there's few different style connectors

that one goes to steering rack

That one to brake bomb

this behind the master cylinder

and this one goes to reservoir

then I had to take this steering dampner off

it's completely done

checked and new one is around 50€

then I take that pump off

and empty that also couse the fluid was so black

so have to check whats inside that

and also that we get that as clean as possible

I have to take that belt off anyways

thought I try to start this without the hydraulic system

So the next thing is to get that pump off and then we start to see those sensor things

power steering pump is now off and it's here on the table

and it's a new day also

If this is broken theres no reason to buy a new one it costs 600€

and I dunno if you can still get the repair kit for it

and is there any reason to fix it

and what wories me is the color of this fluid

it's reddish, so if someone has used ATF oil

so then that pump seals are broken

it wasn't so oily when I washed the engine but it leaks a bit anyway

so it could be rational to make a conversion to normal vacuum brake booster

and make that brake bomb delete

I looked and there was quite many that had done it

I assume that you can change power steering pump at the same time

from another Audi like A6 or A4

you need to make a new holder for it but it's not a big deal

and also looked that those sensors prolly aren´t the reason for not starting

apparently if you read codes without engine running

it gives that speed sensor code every time

so prolly those are ok.

but then there was that throttle body error

so have to check those wires

and if it won't start after that

then we check does it even get fuel

and if it does then we have rethink this...

and if you know which brake servo would be the best to fit

and email can be fould behind the channel details

think that booster has to be quite powerfull

and not a excotic one so that the price isn't also

and..

which power steering pump would be the best fit

relating to that brake servo...

I have these little brembo's brake calibers here....

think these are like RS2 ones or some Porsche

which I think needs quite a lot pressure .....

but anyway I go change some clothes....

Let's end this episode

I didn't get that engine running

and prolly it has nothing do with those speed sensors

It gives that speed sensor error code

altho in VCDS you don't see rpm's when starting

dunno if it should

but I think it isn't the case here

then there is that throttle body code

and if you know if that could be the reason leave a comment

found one article from the net that there is a micro switch inside

that could fail. but didn't see if that could cause this

but we'll see that on the next episode.

think I'll take that off and if it that could be measured some how

and dunno what to do with that steering pump

I just got mail from USA that there is a repair kit for it available

but have to think as it will cost 40€ incl shipping, taxes and stuff

so is there a reason to pay that if we'll go for that vacuum brake servo

thats all for this time

OK, let's pause this. I promised to go through all the costs

and in this episode I changed engine oils and filter

Oil was 22,90€

and filter 5,90€

so total cost amount at the moment is 68,80€

How to Bullet Journal (for Newbies!) - Duration: 8:54.

And today, I am gonna share with you

the bullet journaling basics

and show you how you can do it the easy way.

So if you've never heard of bullet journaling,

you're not quite sure what it is, keep listening.

I can't wait to show you.

or you think it might be a little too elaborate,

I encourage you to keep watching

because I'm gonna show you how to do it the simple way.

So here's what I love about bullet journaling,

is that it is one of the most flexible

and adaptable systems out there.

And your bullet journal can be a place,

an all-in-one system that replaces so many other things,

like your planner, your notes, all those lists

that you have around your house,

your home management system.

And it makes everything really easy to find.

And I love that it's all-in-one.

Now, I want to clear up a myth

that is often held about bullet journaling.

So if you have seen bullet journalers out there,

is that what you call them, bullet journalers?

I don't know.

People who bullet journal.

Some of them literally create true works of art

every single week or every single month,

and I love these people, and I love following them,

and I love seeing their works of art,

but that can be intimidating

and make us feel like every single month,

we have to be out there creating works of art.

And I personally do not have that artistic ability

and I also don't have that kind of time.

But it doesn't have to be that way

because it's super flexible.

So you can make it way more simple,

and I wanna show you that.

So next, let's talk about what supplies

you need for a bullet journal.

Really, all you need is a notebook of some kind

and a pencil or a pen, that's it.

In its purest form,

you can use just a notebook and a pencil.

A lot of people like to use a dot grid type of notebook,

which is just little bitty dots arranged in a grid pattern.

But all you need is paper and pencil.

And a lot of people like to also use,

if you're gonna add anything else, a ruler or a protractor.

Now, I know that may scare some of you.

I don't wanna plan needing a ruler or a protractor.

That's only if you wish to create elaborate designs,

like draw your own calendar

or make your own circular type things.

But if you use a hybrid bullet journal planner system

that I'll tell you about in a minute,

you actually don't need any of those things.

Those hard parts are already done for you.

Okay, so let's talk about the key components

in a bullet journal.

First, you have your index.

And that's just exactly what it sounds like,

where you're writing down page numbers

and what's on each page,

and that's what allows you

to put absolutely anything in there,

but be able to find it really quickly.

Next, most bullet journals have a future log.

So that's just where you write, maybe,

on a couple pages each month,

and you write what future plans you have there.

This is really necessary if you're using

a pure bullet journal where you don't have any printables,

anything else done for you,

because most people don't actually draw all their calendars

and make all their monthly spreads

at the beginning of the year,

so it's really necessary to have a place to capture plans

that are happening in the future.

If you're using more of a hybrid model, like I do,

where you have a planner with bullet journaling pages,

then this may or may not be necessary for you.

But it's kind of a fancy name just for like, an annual plan.

Next, most people have a monthly log.

And this is either where they take

a traditional calendar layout and they draw that

and they write out their plans for the month.

Or sometimes it's just a list of what's happening

on the days and goals of the month.

Again, it's very flexible.

You make it what you want.

And then there's the daily log.

And this is where you keep track of your plans for the day.

Some people do a page or two per day,

other people like to do more of a weekly layout

where they're putting a whole week on a two-page spread.

What you do, again, is up to you,

and that's what makes it so flexible.

So the next, really the backbone

of the bullet journaling system

is what they like to call rapid logging.

And all that means is the little notations

you put to the side of each item or each entry

to show what that is.

And there is a standard key,

but feel free to make up your own or add your own.

This is the beauty of it.

Most people like to keep the key

right in front of their journal for easy reference.

And here are some of the standard references.

But there is something to indicate a task,

indicate when something is completed,

to indicate when something has been migrated forward

to the next day, or migrated back to the monthly to do,

a note, an event, an event that's been attended,

crossing out things that are canceled,

when something is a priority or important,

inspiration, and birthday.

So those are just some.

And people can add their own,

so feel free to be creative with this.

So I'm gonna share a very few of the most popular

bullet journal layouts that most people like to include,

but if you want to see even more,

be sure to click the link

and view the corresponding blog post

where I go into even more detail and more examples.

But most people like to have habit trackers each month

to just kind of keep track of the things

that they're working on

or the things that they want to do each day.

Things like taking your vitamins, walking 10,000 steps,

eating your vegetables, whatever it is you're working on,

practicing hand lettering.

Another one that a lot of people have

that seems really unique to bullet journaling

is what they call a mood mandala.

And what that is is a way to just track your moods each day.

And it looks really cool,

and you can be super artistic

or really simplistic with this.

A lot of people do it in a circular fashion

which, if you're drawing this yourself,

let me be honest, I've tried it,

it's gonna take a little bit of work,

but we do have a printable for you

if you would prefer to have it done for you, and that's me

because it is a little complicated to do yourself.

But these are a lot of fun just to look back on.

Another common one are all sorts of lists.

Books to read is a very common list

or movies you wanna see

or even movies you have seen

and keeping track or books you've read

and keeping track of those and reviewing those.

So those are the very basics of bullet journaling

and if you wanna make this ridiculously easy,

my favorite thing is to use a hybrid planner

and bullet journal which I call the bujo planner,

like this one that I created.

And with this, you have a huge headstart

because you will get, each month, you'll get

a nice divider, which these are also nice

to be able to quickly go where you want to

and then a monthly overview page.

Then you have your calendar.

And I love having this done for me

instead of having to draw this,

because it is a little bit of work and planning

to draw one of these yourself.

You get to do your monthly goals, your habit tracker.

And again, it's really nice to have this

already set up for you instead of trying to draw it yourself

and then you'll have a gratitude page for each month

and then you'll have that each month.

And then in between, it comes with a 100 dot grid pages

and you can put those wherever you want.

So if you wanted to put 30 in January

and only four in February, you could do that.

That is the beauty of this disc binding system.

It's super easy.

All you do is the pages lift right out like this.

And then you just push them right back in

so you can put them in wherever you would like

in the bujo planner, which makes it super flexible

and kinda gives you the beauty of both worlds

if you wanna get a headstart.

When you're using this system and you create your index,

what I recommend is that, at the beginning,

you start with the number one and go all the way

until you get to January.

And from there, you start numbering Jan - 1, Jan - 2,

Jan - 3, and so on.

And then when you get to February,

Feb - 1, Feb - 2, like that.

That way, you'll be able to add pages to the month

as much as you want

without actually messing up your numbering system,

which is great and makes it super simple.

And on the days when you're feeling really artistic,

and you wanna do something cute and fancy,

you can go for it,

but if you're feeling less artistic or you have less time,

you can just do a simple list and you'll be good to go.

So I hope that helps you learn a little bit more

about bullet journaling and figure out how you can fit it

easily and simply into your life.

My nail care routine. I'm here with Şengül, who is a nail care specialist.

İlayda: I met Şengül pretty late, I wish I met her much earlier. I had no idea about nail care when I first came to her.

İlayda: I just left myself into her hands and I couldn't leave her since then.

İlayda: Whenever she does my nails, I remain shocked for the next 5 days and text her ''Şengül, my nails are beautiful!''

İlayda: You guys asked me a lot of questions about nail biting, nail peeling, etc.

İlayda: So I wanted to provide you the best, informative answers by asking them to its expert.

İlayda: Hopefully, we will provide answers to erase all the question marks in your heads.

İlayda: I wanted you to ask me questions about nail care on Instagram and then I made a list of questions based on them.

İlayda: These questions are probably very easy and simple for Şengül because lots of people always ask her tons of questions.

İlayda: Her Instagram account is also popular and I guess she receives lots of questions every day. Şengül: Yes.

İlayda: Lots of customers also ask her questions. People see the before/after photographs on her page and ask questions about them, etc.

İlayda: It's not possible not to be impressed. So I got my questions ready with me, let's begin if you are ready.

İlayda: One of the most popular questions is people are asking the reason why their nails are too weak and keep breaking and peeling.

İlayda: Is there anything they can do in order to prevent their nails from being broken? What's the solution of this problem?

Şengül: It is strongly related to the diseases they went through when they were young like severe fever.

İlayda: Severe fever in childhood? Şengül: Yes. It's a serious cause of weak nails.

Şengül: It may create stripes on the nails, cause them to be yellowish, etc. If a person has stripes on her nails and can't get rid of them, she definitely needs to see a doctor.

Şengül: If she has used too much antibiotics, heavy medicine, body resistance shows its symptoms by the nails.

Şengül: Vitamin, calcium, iron deficiency are all related to each other.

Şengül: The most common problem is calcium and iron deficiency. If the patient can't fix it externally, she needs to take oral vitamins. İlayda: Vitamin support, I see.

İlayda: Let's assume that the patient started to take oral vitamins and eat well, does it make a visual change on the nails right away? Şengül: Definitely, she would realize it in 3 days.

İlayda: Really? Şengül: 2 weeks maximum, she would recognize it.

İlayda: Check whether you have any diseases guys. You need to check your insides in order to have healthy nails.

İlayda: Here is my second question:

İlayda: I will mention one of the most popular applications of the period: Denture nails.

İlayda: Do denture nails harm our real nails below? Is it an operation to be scared of?

İlayda: Or is it such a simple and easy operation when applied by an expert?

Şengül: I don't think that there's anybody who gets her nails done consistently.

Şengül: Denture nails must be done regularly and consistently. It has a filling operation which must be done every 10-15 days.

Şengül: I suggest it to people who have very small nails and who want to make their hands look longer are more beautiful. I wouldn't suggest it to anybody else.

İlayda: By the way, even though your nails are not perfect from birth, manicure has an awesome effect,

especially when you get it done by an expert,

your hands look amazingly beautiful. Rather than denture nails, you can get very beautiful hands with consistent manicure. Şengül: Definitely.

Şengül: You're the biggest witness. İlayda: I achieved it.

İlayda: By the way, my nails used to be very long and stiff

but by means of shape, the biggest effect on my nails were consistent manicure and Şengül.

İlayda: So if you have problems with the shape of your nails, you will get them done by manicure pretty easily. Şengül: Definitely. İlayda: No need for denture nails.

İlayda: Our next question is: Does permanent lacquer refine our nails?

Şengül: I apply permanent lacquer pretty often especially in summer. I almost never give it a break.

Şengül: I apply it 3-4 times in a row. It really helps the nails grow and prevents them from breaking. I've seen it myself and I made lots of people grow theşr nails by this technique.

İlayda: By permanent lacquer? Şengül: Definitely.
