what's up shenanigans John here and I am back once again once again straightening

my shirt out here to talk about something that I think is extremely

important for vlogging I think you'll agree whenever I hear the compliment

John you're in natural in front of the camera that makes me smile ear to ear

because a lot of people think being a natural in front of the camera means you

were born with the ability to do it I disagree and I hear me out

yes some people have a tendency to be more comfortable in front of the camera

and it's probably because of a couple things first is they probably practice

quite a bit I practice quite a bit I practice at work for giving

presentations interviews and things that I've done I practice talking quite a bit

and talking is just vlogging many people aren't gonna get away with never ever

practicing the craft and talking and being comfortable speaking in front of

people is a craft it is something you have to practice practice talk I talk to

myself all the time when I would run and I'm pointing over my treadmill you're

not seeing it and I would practice talking to myself I practice things I

was gonna say in collecting my thoughts it is you know like fine tuning a muscle you

need to practice you need to be able to conduct yourself and be able to speak

logically and incoherent sentences and not feel weird when you're talking in

front of people now a tip that I've said on this channel before that I think is

an extremely important tip look into the camera and you talk like you're talking

to a person and I am I'm talking to you right there sitting right there on your

phone or desktop or wherever interview I think that's your game console wherever

it is I am actually picturing talking to a person somebody walks into your house

and you're talking to them it's not gonna be awkward why would it be any

different now so look into the camera however you need to trick your mind into

it pretend that you're talking to a person next know what you're gonna say

before you get on camera I know that is probably common sense but a lot of times

and even in the past when I would vlog I turn the camera on and go I'm gonna vlog

I turned the camera on and it would be awkward because I didn't know what I was

gonna say what's up guys I'm gonna talk to you about being good on camera okay

now these type of videos I have a general outline about what I want to

talk about and I'll get on here and I'll stick to that but even when I'm doing my

regular family vlogs when I turn that camera on I kind of know what I'm gonna

have going on at that time so I filmed to

edit so now when I film I know what I'm gonna be doing so that I can edit a

little bit quicker years ago it used to take me four or five hours to edit vlogs

now I can zip them really quickly because I've logged that way I know

exactly what I'm gonna talk about I know exactly when I'm gonna show and I

piecemeal my segments like that so it gets a lot easier at the end when I'm

doing the vlogs and that's a another tip for you too but feeling comfortable on

it is knowing exactly what you're gonna talk about having it planned out now not

scripted because again if you script this and you memorize it it's gonna come

across unless you're really really really talented I'm not I have to get on

here in freestyle if I try to script anything it comes across very plainly

that I've scripted it and it is very clumsy that's the best word I have for

clumsy now this is another thing I think it goes without saying but talk with

passion talk with excitement you want to be fake on here because that will come

across but again I probably wouldn't talk like this when I'm looking at

somebody I would be like oh that actually made me laugh so you don't have

say when you're watching a video it is really engaging when somebody is

passionate and excited when they're talking to you so it's like amping

yourself up a little bit maybe ten twenty percent more than your natural

self it comes across in the camera much better I'm using my hands a lot I told

you before I talk with my hands I don't know what to do with them if you're

talking about something that you've liked that you love that you're

passionate right let that be known that's why we can watch motivational

speakers they're full of energy and I guarantee you 100% that's not how they

walk around life you don't see Tony Robbins walking around life completely

jacked in at school needs on stage he's passionate he lists it's passion from

people and it's engaging and that's what we're trying to do we're trying to

engage an audience when we're talking to him on the camera now this last one be

confident and I'm going to pull a line from one of my favorite movies of all

time boiler-room Ben Affleck's character says when he's standing at the boardroom

table and he's talking to the people he tells them to act as if and I'm not

gonna go into the full because I think it's got some cuss words and he tells

them the act is it they're the owner of the company is there selling these

stocks to people and I'm telling you act is that you're the biggest vlogger on

YouTube act as if you have a million subscribers you don't have to feel like

you don't have a voice because we're small youtubers do you know what you're

talking about just because I don't have a million subscribers behind me doesn't

mean I don't know what I'm talking about I am like you I have

the work I've put in the studying I've put in the effort here I've put out over

350 videos I know a little something about being on YouTube now has that

translated 100% a huge sub-county no it has it but it has shown me some things

over time I know how to video I know how to edit I know how to talk to people

that doesn't change with the size of your YouTube audience please don't lose

confidence because you're a small Channel don't do that feel confident own

your space this is your space this is your channel this is your video so when

you stand up or sit down or whatever you're doing on your vlogs remember

remember what Ben Affleck says act as if act as if you're the biggest vlogger on

YouTube and don't ever ever lose confidence because of the size of your

channel i'ma leave you with a final bonus tip here this is one that I've

learned quite a bit from over the years learn from editing I've gotten better

over time even though I was confident on camera I think probably most of my life

but even before I vlog because of my acting and and and podcast days but

watch your videos and learn from them really take in what you're doing take in

how you talk and adjust you can do some practice vlogs edit those and see how

you come across you can become your own best critic in that way you can learn to

director so I know most people probably still have a problem here and their own

voice and watching themselves I tell my wife all the time when I'm watching me

I'm not editing me I'm editing a person I'm directing a person tell myself to

shut up quite often when I'm editing and that sounds funny but when I'm editing

myself I have a tendency to talk a lot and so when I'm editing that I learn

from that I'm like why am I talking so much John shut up and I'm probably gonna

do it right now cuz I'm rambling every single time you release a vlog it should

be the best version of the vlog you've done learn don't ever put something out

that's subpar just because you want to get something out so learn every single

thing you put out learn from yourself looking at yourself listening to

yourself you'll become a much better editor and you become a much better

vlogger because you'll know what to vlog you'll be able to kind of boil down to

what you want to say you want to prepare you want to practice you want to get

that confidence you won't get that passion across to everyone you're

talking to out here on YouTube alright guys that's all I have for you tonight

please smash that thumbs up and remember if you aren't subscribed please consider

doing so and if you're still with some of the things that I've talked

about today tell me down below maybe I'll shoot a video and I'll discuss

those a little bit further with you guys thanks for watching again I appreciate

the support and I will see you next time

State of the Union: Donald Trump delivers his first address - Duration: 2:23.

In Washington at 9 P.M. local time, U.S. President Donald Trump started his first State of the

Union address.

We have Lee Jeong-yeon here to fill us in on the details.

Jeong-yeon, I understand Trump is expected to mention North Korea in his speech today.

What can you tell us about that?

Hi Mark, yes President Trump started his first annual remarks to Congress and the American

people today on Capitol Hill.

The speech is not yet finished, but from exerpts from the speech released by the White House,

he is expected to say, "complacency he said, and I quote, "complacency and concessions

only invite aggression and provocations.

I will not repeat the mistakes of the past administrations that got us into this dangerous

position"... hinting a strong stance on the regime.

Okay, now aside from North Korea, what were some other key points from the speech we should

know about?

He mainly stressed 'unity' and 'reconciliation' of different parties to come together 'for

the people', covering diverse issues from immigration to the economy.

Regarding immigration, he said he would push for 'immigration policies that focus on the

best interests of American workers and American families'.

He touched upon his proposal on a way to provide citizenship to the more than 1 million unregistered

immigrants in the U.S., which includes the approximately 700-thousand young immigrants

in the soon-to-expire DACA program.

In return he hopes to secure billions of dollars to build the proposed border wall with Mexico.

He took credit for the record-low unemployment rate and rising wages after 'years of stagnation,'

and claimed that 2-point-4 million new jobs were created since his election.

He also said the U.S. has enacted the biggest tax cuts and reforms in American history that

he says will provide 'tremendous relief for the middle class and small businesses.'

However, critics point out may not be true, as bigger tax cuts were seen by his predecessors

Presidents Reagan, Truman, and Obama.

Back to you Mark.

Making Potting Mix at Home and in a Nursery. - Duration: 4:18.

We're often asked about our potting mix so I'm just going to show you today how

we make our premium potting mix here at Daley's nursery

Keep in mind that we do make different mixes for specific plants so

I'm just going to show you a general potting mix that you can also make in

your garden to pot up your beautiful fruit trees and any other plants that

you're growing in containers so firstly we start with basic ingredients and we

buy ours in bulk of course so this is Coir and you can buy it in blocks like

this it's dried out it's pressed together and it's quite compact so what

you need to do when you get your block of Coir is to wet it down so you can pop

this in a wheelbarrow put in about ten litres of water twenty litres of water

and it expands so you can see how much it expands here so this is one block

once it's expanded so we actually put a little sprinkler over lots of blocks of

koi and we wet them all down together so we're ready to mix our potting mix now

as soon as you move this block it's going to break up so I've got one here

that we've just moved over and you can see it just becomes like a powder so

this is one of the basic ingredients of our potting mix now next to us here

we've got composted pine bark and this is just medium pines of composted pine

bark and it's the other main fundamental ingredient in our potting mix and we're

going to actually mix these together so what we do here at the nursery is we mix

about one-third of Coir to two-thirds of pine bark we use a tractor and a scoop

and we actually put them in a big old cement mixer so they get fed into this

chute we mix it all up with fertiliser so we add slow-release fertiliser gypsum

we add Nutrimin and then we feed it up this chute into our potting machine once

it's all really well mixed and then the potting machine feeds the Potters to pot

up the plants so I'll show you that next

so this fabulous machine is our potting machine and this is where we pot up the

majority of our plants here at Daley's nursery

so it's a two-person operation and we'll show you how it works but basically when

you turn it on it feeds out the potting mix and people pot up here it's a really

fast and efficient way of potting up plants

so if you want to make your own potting mix at home you're going to need a

wheelbarrow some basic ingredients some coir some pine bark if you can get it or

you might want to just use a bag of premium grade potting mix so that's

going to be similar and it's already going to have the fertilizer if you're

using plain pine bark you're going to need some slow-release fertiliser so

we've got a couple of cups of Osmocote and Nutricote coat these are slow-release

and they're going to last about eight to twelve months so mix it all up in your

wheelbarrow

sprinkling my slow-release fertiliser so I've got about two cups

and then mix it all through.

so you can see that the fertiliser is sort of nicely spread

through the mix you can see the Coir is pretty much broken up and I've got a

really beautiful mix of ingredients so this is excellent we're going to use

this to pot up some of our beautiful fruit trees

Five things to watch for in Trump's State of the Union - Duration: 8:55.

Five things to watch for in Trumps State of the Union

president trump will deliver his first State of the Union address on Tuesday, a week after

a three-day government shutdown was sparked by a bitter partisan fight over immigration.

The drama over efforts to protect so-called Dreamers is sure to grab some of the spotlight

during the highly anticipated address, though Trump is also expected to use the stage to

take an economic victory lap and pitch a bipartisan infrastructure plan to Congress.

The State of the Union also comes against the backdrop of the intensifying Russia probe

and other controversies surrounding Trumps White House and its anyones guess

whether the unconventional president will stick to the script or shoot from the hip.

Here are five things to watch for during Trumps inaugural State of the Union address.

Does Trump move the needle on the immigration debate?

The fate of young immigrants who were brought to the country illegally as children is sure

to be a hot topic on Tuesday night.

Trump rescinded the Obama-era Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, which

allowed Dreamers to work and go to school here, and gave Congress until March 5 to come

up with a permanent legal solution.

But Congress has been at an impasse over how to resolve the issue, which led to the shutdown

earlier this month.

The White House unveiled a legislative framework last week that would offer 1.8 million people

a pathway to citizenship in exchange for $25 billion for Trumps signature campaign promise

of a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border.

It would also eliminate the diversity visa lottery and limit family-based migration.

The plan, however, has faced blowback from both parties, with Republicans balking at

the prospect of providing amnesty and Democrats worried about the proposed dramatic

changes to the U.S. immigration system.

Its got to be bipartisan because the Republicans really dont have the votes

to get it done in any other way, so it has to be bipartisan.

But hopefully the Democrats will join us, or enough of them will join us, so we can

really do something great, for DACA and for immigration generally, Trump said Monday.

Trump could use his bully pulpit Tuesday night to ratchet up the pressure on both Democrats

and Republicans to get on board with his proposal.

And Democrats, likewise, will try to keep the heat on the White House and Congress to

protect Dreamers from being deported.

Some Democrats are bringing Dreamers as their guests to Trumps address, while at least

one GOP lawmaker, centrist Rep. Carlos Curbelo (Fla.), is making the same gesture.

Trump, meanwhile, is inviting parents of girls murdered by the gang MS-13, as well as an

Immigration and Customs Enforcement special agent in charge of investigations that have

led to MS-13 arrests.

Trumps decision attracted criticism from Democrats, with Rep. Judy Chu (D-Calif.) calling

it manipulative, exploitative and bigoted.

The Me Too movement

There wont be a red carpet, but the audience at the State of the Union will bear some resemblance

to the Golden Globes earlier this month.

Female and some male lawmakers will be wearing black to show solidarity with victims

of sexual misconduct, just as Hollywood actors did at the awards show three weeks ago.

They had been planning on some sort of gesture after wearing white the color associated

with suffragettes to Trumps first address to a joint session of Congress last year.

Female members settled on wearing black after seeing the Golden Globes display.

Many legislators are bringing guests associated with the Me Too movement highlighting

sexual misconduct in the workplace.

Rep. Jackie Speier (D-Calif.), for instance, is hosting Travis Moore, a former House aide

who organized a letter of other former staffers calling for reforming Capitol Hills sexual

harassment policies.

And Rep. Katherine Clark (D-Mass.) is bringing Anny Gonzalez, an airplane cleaner who was

sexually harassed at her job.

Tuesdays address will come a day after the House passed legislation to require athletic

organizations to swiftly report sexual abuse and establish policies to prevent it from

happening in the first place.

Consideration of the bill follows last weeks sentencing of former USA Gymnastics doctor

Larry Nassar for sexually abusing more than 150 young female athletes.

Boycotts

Roughly a dozen House Democrats are skipping Trumps speech entirely.

After watching Trumps first year in office, they say they have no interest in attending.

This is a presidency that has been built on racism, stupidity and lies, which has already

wasted enough of Americas time, and I will not waste any more of mine, Rep. Bobby

Rush (D-Ill.) said while announcing his boycott.

Only two Democrats, Reps. Maxine Waters (Calif.) and Al Green (Texas), made a show of not attending

Trumps address to Congress last year.

But the number of Democratic boycotts this year has spiked, particularly after lawmakers

expressed outrage over Trumps reported comments describing some nations as shithole

countries earlier this month.

The members skipping the speech plan to take part in other events.

Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-Wash.), for example, is speaking at a counterevent with liberal

activists.

Does Trump stay on script?

Trump mostly stuck to the script last year when he addressed a joint session of Congress,

delivering a largely measured speech that earned him positive media coverage and praise

from lawmakers.

But one year into his presidency and with the Russia probes looming large will Trump

stay on message, or will he shake up the format of one of Americas oldest political rituals?

Trump is expected to tout the recently passed GOP tax law and lay out his 2018 agenda, which

will center on a $1 trillion infrastructure package.

But Trump is also known to speak off the cuff, and he relishes in going after his critics,

especially when he feels attacked.

The president will have plenty of material to choose from on Tuesday, including a bombshell

tell-all book that dropped this month and a recent New York Times report that the president

tried to fire the special counsel investigating possible connections between his campaign

and Russia.

Trumps speech will also follow a vote by the House Intelligence Committee to release

a memo that Republicans say exposes political bias in the FBI probe, a topic that Trump

may find difficult to resist.

What is the Democratic message?

Rep. Joe Kennedy III (D-Mass.) will be in the spotlight Tuesday night when he delivers

the official Democratic Party response to Trumps address.

The rising Democratic star, 37, is expected to speak from Diman Regional Vocational Technical

High School in Fall River, Mass., rather than from Washington.

For Kennedy, Robert F. Kennedys grandson, it will be a big platform to introduce himself

to the American public.

Kennedy has served in Congress since 2013.

Other Democrats seeking to boost their own profiles will also be offering rebuttals.

Waters, whose name recognition has skyrocketed in the past year for her no-holds-barred criticism

of Trump, is boycotting the presidents speech.

What does he have to say that I would be interested in? she said on MSNBC this month.

But Waters will speak on BET after the address as part of special network programming, according

to BuzzFeed.

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), a potential 2020 presidential contender, also plans to deliver

a response to Trumps State of the Union, as he did after the joint session address

last year.

Rare 'Super blue blood moon' coming tonight - Duration: 2:01.

Now for a moment you might want to set your alarm for.

On January 31st -- tonight for us in Korea -- half of the Earth -- parts of western Northern

America, Asia, the Middle East, Russia and Australia -- will experience a very special

moment: "a super blue moon."

It will be the first time in decades that the world will witness a total lunar eclipse.

Park Soyun reports.

On Wednesday night, sky-watchers will be able to enjoy a special cosmic three-for-one deal,

"a super blue blood moon."

Half the world will be witness to not just one, but three uncommon events: a lunar eclipse,

a supermoon and a blue moon.

Individually the three aren't that rare, but the last time all three occurred at the same

time -- a celestial trifecta -- was 35 years ago.

The "super blue blood moon" combines a 'supermoon' which is a full moon that is closest to earth,

a 'blue moon,' the second full moon of the month' and a lunar eclipse, a phenomenon that

occurs when the earth casts a shadow over the moon.

"The supermoon looks especially big due to it being closer to earth.

The blue moon and the blood moon....

For all three to occur simultaneously is a once in a life time event, a very rare moment."

In South Korea, you can catch the show from 8:48 p.m. when the moon enters the darkest

part of the Earth's shadow, the umbra, during the period of the partial eclipse.

From 9:51pm to 11:08 the moon will turn a deep shade of dark red, when it undergoes

a 'totality,' the period when the moon is totally covered, or the total eclipse.

The rest of the visible eclipse will end at 12:11am on February 1st.

The whole process will last as long as an hour and twelve minutes, depending on your

location.

So you may want to catch this "once in a blue moon" moment -- a truly once in a lifetime

event.

Park Soyun, Arirang News.
