Trump

Hits 50%!

In the Rasmussen Poll, the only survey that polls actual voters, President Donald Trump

has moved up steadily since the new year and has now reached a new plateau of 50 percent

job approval with only 49 percent disapproving.

Never before in his presidency has Trump cracked 50 percent, and never before, in any reputable

poll, have his positive marks outweighed the negative ones.

Trump is no longer underwater.

Other polls have not reached this level and CNN has his approval at only 39 percent.

But CNN surveys registered voters while Rasmussen only counts likely voters.

Since almost half of the registered voters do not actually cast ballots, limiting the

survey respondents to those who actually intend to vote is the only real way to gauge popularity

and voter attitudes.

But, to put him over the top, the president indicated some flexibility on gun control

in the wake of the Parkland school shooting.

By demonstrating that he is not some kind of ideological Republican who wont bend

regardless of the situation, he is engendering a confidence among voters.

The Donald Trump who now backs bans on bump stocks (which permit weapons to be converted

into machine guns) and a minimum age of 21 for most purchases of guns is not the angry,

intolerant abusive person he has been too often in the past.

Americans want to like and approve of their president and now, at last, Donald Trump seems

to qualify.

(Whether one concedes that he is, in fact, at 50 percent, everyone must agree that his

ratings have improved for the first sustained period in his presidency since the first of

the year).

This positive trend leaves the Democrats stranded.

Rather than advance positive solutions for the country, they have wallowed in never

Trumpism and just throw adjectives at the president.

Their inability to even understand why someone might back Trump leaves them far out of the

national consensus.

Such thinking leads to the famous characterization of Trump voters as a basket of deplorables,

a statement made by Hillary Clinton en route to her defeat.

Build you own home automation system | V1.0 ►Free Giveaway - Duration: 8:10.

When it comes to Home Automation system

We thing it is very complicated.

Don't worry guys!

In this tutorial I am going to show you

How to make a Home Automation system.

If you guys want to help me with my all future projects

Please support me by subscribing my channel and leave a comment in the comment section.

Please watch this video till the end

There is some giveaway.

Let's begin.

For Home automation system we are gonna need a electronics control switches,

That's why I am using 12V 8 channel relay board.

By applying some electrical signal we can control the switches.

To control the switches we are gonna need a controller.

Here I am using Atmega328 microcontroller based Arduino nano.

To connect our Home automation system with smart phone, We are gonna need

A bluetooth module

Here I am using HC-05 Bluetooth module.

We also need a 12V power supply.

This power supply suppose to supply 12v,

But unfortunately it is providing more than 20v

That's why I am using DC to Dc converter.

You guys don't need this dc to dc converter, if you are using 12v power supply.

Next we are going to need some 3pin and 2pin socket, 1 fuse, a 3pin plug and a electrical board.

This is my circuit diagram.

Download this circuit from the link given in the description.

It will look great,

If add a own design PCB to your project.

So I have design this pcb circuit in eagle.

If you guys don't know, How to design a PCB

Check out my PCB designing tutorial

I have putted those video links in the description.

After finishing my design

I have order my PCB from JLCPCB.

Upload your gerber file to order a high quality PCB

They are providing 10pcb at only $2

Lets give them a try

After 10th day of placing my order I have received my order

The quality of the PCB is very very nice

I am very happy with their product's quality and price

I will order again in future.

If you guys want one of this PCB

Jut give a comment in the comment section.

And put your Email-id followed by #

If you are a lucky winner

You will receive a PCB with all SMD component

I have design this board for multipurpose

So, in this project I am going to need

Just

Bluetooth connection and data output pin

So, I am soldering a 16v 100uF capacitor

a power LED with a current limiting resistor

a diode, some female header

So, that I can easily plug in my Arduino board and Bluetooth module

I have also connected some male header to data pin of Arduino

To fix all the component

in this electrical box

I have drilled some hole.

Next I have solder some wire

12v power supply's input and output side

12v power supply's output to dc to dc converter input side

and I have also solder some wire to converter's output side

for power the relay board and controller circuit

to connect the controller circuit with the relay board

I have solder some wire with female header,

So, that

I can easily connect our controller board with my relay board.

Then, I have fixed all the component with the help of nut bolt

and

jip tight

Next, I have connecter all the socket with my electrical board.

Then, I have connected all the neutral point

After that I have connected all common pins of relay for line

Then, I have connected all the socket line with normally open pin of relay board.

Now, I am connecting neutral of 220VAC to neutral of our system.

and line of our system to line of 220V

through a fuse

I have also connected 12v power supply ac input to 220VAC

Now, time to upload your sketch to arduino

Download the sketch from the link given in the description.

and change as per your pin configuration

Now, connect your arduino

Go to "Tool" and select your port and board

then click on upload

For my home automation system, I have made this app

If you are using different pin of arduino then you need to configure this app

To configure the open your web browser and search for mit app inventor 2

and click on the first link

After that you need to register your google account

Then go to project import your .aia file

Download my aia file from link in the description.

This is our app look like

Here we can edit our user interface

Now click on block

and

change your pin number, here

and also you need to change voice recognize section too

After changing your all parameters

go to build and build apk

Now install this app in your app

Turn on device 3

Turn off device 3

Turn on device 8

Turn off device 8

If you like this project please like comment and subscribe :-)

Bullying App BANNED by Apple and Google - Duration: 6:35.

An app that has been accused of facilitating bullying has been taken down from the Apple

and Google stores.

My name is Danny Burke - back for my second day as your fill in host for Landon Productions

this week.

Fill in host sounds weird, not sure why I said that.

Lets get back into this story.

The app is called Sarahah and was designed for adults to leave each other anonymously

leave each other feedback.

The feedback can be good or bad, it can be used between friends, families and work colleagues

but it is always anonymous.

Well, it seems that some school kids found out about this around the world and thought

it would be a great way to be nasty to each other.

Karina Collins is an Australian mother who was shocked to find that her 13 year old daughter

was receiving messages on the app telling her to kill herself.

She started a peition on change.org calling for the app to be removed from Google and

Apples stores, accusing them of facilitating bullying and self harm.

The petition gained almost half a million supporters and seemed to work as both companies

removed the app from their stores.

The CEO of the company, Zain-Alabdin Tawfiq, has said hes comitted to improving the filtering

system on the app using AI and machine learning.

It seems that the app was good at blocking out words such as kill but couldnt detect

that phrases such as -throw yourself off a cliff- were just as bad.

Do you guys think the app should stay banned or return once these changes are in place?

Ring ring ring ring ring ring ring - Banana phone.

I will now say Banana like I normally do.

The Nokia Banana phone is back and everyone who remembers them is going ape for them right

now - pun intended.

They gained immense popularity in 1999 after being featured in the Matrix - theyre the

phones that Morpheus and Neo use.

Well they are set for a re release as part of the new Nokia Originals.

Its gonna be called the Nokia 8110 4G, named after the original of course, and its going

to be very simple to use.

You can answer and end calls by simply sliding the bottom of the phone up and down.

The battery will last for 25 days - thats right, 25 days, meaning youll only have to

recharge it once every month or so.

It will cost 79 euros on release - thats about 97 US dollars or 69 British pounds.

The best part is, it contains the legendary snake game.

That might even be its main appeal for me if Im honest.

A much loved rapper has been spotted by fans walking around Somalia.

This wouldnt be a big deal except for one thing - it was 2pac. 2pac was shot and killed

almost 22 years ago on September 13th 1996 but despite that, there have been rumours

from all over the world that he is alive and well and simply in hiding.

This week, hes apparently been seen in the East African nation of Somalia.

A user by the name of suldaan_mahdi posted online to say -Ive seen Tupac and Kadafi way

after their sad deaths, in Somalia- Kadafi was the co founder with Tupac of the rap group

Outlawz.

Suldaan went on to say -Ive seen them both alive.

I was in a car and they were heading in the other direction.

Kadafi was doing some kind of hand signals, he looked kind of funky- Im not sure what

he means by funky there, could mean a lot of things.

Do you guys think theres any truth to this? 2PAC is alive seems to be one of the most

talked about conspiracy theories in the world - does that mean there is a little bit of

truth to it somehow?

Let me know … Yesterday I talked about the new Sony phone

and I think Apple must have watched that video because today they had an announcement of

their own.

They are going to be release not one, not two, but 3 phones later this year.

This will include their largest iPhone ever and a less expensive model.

This seems to be a direct reaction to the poor sales of the iPhone X last year which

fell short of analysts projects.

It seems people were put off by the 1000 dollar price tag despite liking features of the phone

such as the large edge to edge screen.

The 3 new phones will address these problems.

The large model will have a screen close to 6.5 inches - one of the largest on the market.

It will also feature the edge to edge design of the iPhone X and have a Face ID Scanner

instead of a thumb scanner.

The cheaper version of the phone will feature the LCD screen technology used in the iPhone

8.

It will also have aluminium edges and a glass back, not the fancy stainless steel one used

in the iPhone 10.

Apple hopes this will keep the price low enough for more people to afford it as an entry level

phone.

Twitter blew up yesterday when an Uber driver shared the playlists he uses for his passengers

based on how they look.

Its pretty funny stuff.

The playlists have names such as heady bros, white dudes who look like they like rap, basic

20-30s, 30+ and quiet people.

My personal favourite was simply called -fucking hipsters- … I presume they mean that as

an adjective and not a verb.

Anyway the tweet has got over a quarter of a million likes - some people were discussing

which playlist would suit them as a passenger but a lot of people were asking for links

to the playlists to listen to them.

Eventually, someone found the playlists on spotify and then everyone started listening

to them.

I fully intend to listen to White dudes who look like they like rap, quiet people and

fucking hipsters.

After his playlists were discovered, the Uber driver tweeted out saying he has to step up

his game now.

That means that by the time you guys find it, he might have improved them or even made

whole new ones.

If you listen to them, let me know which playlist you are … who needs Buzzfeed am I right?

And finally now - yesterday we talked about how well Black Panther was doing - well apparently

its not done famous enough because a British supermarket got its name very wrong.

Tesco is a major British supermarket chain that recently released a Black Panther outfit

called -Marvel Avengers Dark Panther Fancy Dress Costume- … some pointed the error

out on Twitter and soon after, Tesco fixed the problem and said they were extremely sorry.

Some people found it funny but the people who were slightly more concerned were asking

would this have happened if it was iron man?

Would they have accidently called him Metal Man?

I saw one guy on Twitter surmise that it was either a genuine mistake, a licensing problem

or a clever marketing ploy to get people talking about their product.

If its that last one then well played.

You got me talking about it.

I wonder if they will sell any more Dark Panther costumes now …

Day 2 in the bag.

Was it better than day 1?

Will it be better than day 4?

Who knows, I havent even got there yet!

All I know is Im having fun, I hope you did too, let me know which was your favourite

story so I know what kind of stuff to look for next.

My names Danny Burke, thanks for watching Landon Productions and Ill see you all in

the next video!

How Grocery Stores Trick You Into Spending More - Duration: 5:36.

Ever go to the supermarket for a couple little things and walk out with a dazed expression

and a trunk load of groceries you didn't need?

Well, there's a reason for that, as supermarkets are carefully designed to manipulate you into

buying what they want you to buy.

Here's a look at how grocery stores trick you into spending more.

"Let me help you."

"Oh, uh…"

"I'm only helping."

Larger carts

There are a number of ways supermarkets employ their empty-your-wallet magic at the register,

and one of them is the ever-increasing size of your shopping cart.

Marketing consultant Martin Lindstrom told Today,

"We did an experiment with that, and we actually doubled the size of the shopping cart… and

you buy 40 percent more.

In Whole Foods, the shopping carts over the last two years have doubled in size almost."

So how do you outsmart the store?

Stick to a list, and if you're only there for a few items — skip the cart altogether,

and carry your purchases in your arms.

Welcome to the maze

The whole supermarket is basically laid out like a giant trap designed to snare your wallet.

They start by placing the highest priced and most enticing items up front, to get you in

the mood for buying.

Those bright fruits and juicy green vegetables?

They're first in line so you'll feel better about yourself later on when you find yourself

in the cookie and potato chips aisle.

Once you're in the store, you may have trouble finding what you want, because grocery stores

seem to always be re-organizing their layout.

Some stores intentionally create a perplexing maze in order to get you looking at new products,

break your old buying habits, and not coincidentally spend more time in the store.

And then, when you finally get to the register, you're stuck in artificially long lines designed

to entice you to drop a dime on candy and magazines, not to mention games to keep your

kids occupied while you wait.

And if you ever wondered why there isn't a place up front for you to leave items you

no longer want, well, that's on purpose too - because it's such a hassle to get back out

of line and return something, most people will just buy it even after they've changed

their mind.

Precut produce

What's your time worth to you?

The grocery store is banking on it being worth a whole lot — so much in fact, that you'd

be willing to pay nearly double for your fresh fruits and veggies the store has precut for

you.

If you want to save yourself a lot of money, buy whole fruits and vegetables you can prepare

at your own leisure.

Learn to love the knife.

Circular logic

The store circular is loaded with all the best sale prices in the store, right?

"Zucchini, cucumbers…

I do like blueberries, then organic ones are on sale too, I always like Wednesday, because

it has the good stuff the King's Supers had."

Not so fast, though.

While there are usually some deals and specials to be found, supermarkets often advertise

full price items in those circulars because readers will just assume they're getting a

deal, making them more likely to buy things they would otherwise have skipped.

Now that's just sneaky!

Free samples

Stopping for a sample of that new flavor of Triscuit topped with that new edamame hummus

does a few things.

First, it slows you down in the aisle, and distracts you from the purpose of where you

were originally headed.

Friendly banter with the employee offering you the free taste establishes a relationship.

"Would you meet me behind the supermarket at midnight?

It's really important."

It's probably not even on sale, but many people will feel obligated to buy the item after

trying it.

Wet produce

Spraying the fresh produce with water means the store is doing their part to make sure

we go home with a fresher, cleaner product, right?

Wrong again.

It turns out that overly wet produce sometimes spoils even faster.

So why would the store do this?

For one, produce loses a lot of its hydration in shipping, and when an item is sold by weight,

every little ounce counts.

Second, we are visual creatures, and those dew drop speckled vegetables conjure a fresh

from the farm image we want to take home to our own kitchens.

Our tip: inspect your produce well, and shake out that extra water before adding it to your

cart.

Once home, dry it well and store it with paper towels to absorb excess moisture, and prolong

its fridge-life.

Stocking stuffers

It's not just the layout of the store that's designed to get you to buy.

Stores also know how to market on a shelf by shelf basis.

The bottom level is where the discount goods and store brands are typically shelved, because

you're least likely to look down there.

The next shelf up is at kid level, so it's packed with stuff your kids just have to have

right now, mommy!

Then there's the shelf at adult eye level, the bullseye zone, which is usually stocked

with high cost items, or big name brands that may have paid the store to be put front and

center.

And then there's the top shelf, where gourmet and specialty items are kept.

And that's not all.

They also pair complementary items next to each other, like chips and salsa, and then

spread those items across the store.

Those crackers that didn't even catch your eye when you were in the middle of the store?

They look a whole lot tastier when you see them next to the gourmet cheeses by the deli.

So don't be fooled.

Get in, get out, and get wise to grocery store tricks - before you bite off more than you

can chew.

"What's this place called?"

"This is, I believes, called 'Food Libraries.'"

A funny look at the unintended consequences of technology | Chuck Nice - Duration: 10:43.

Future tech always comes with two things: promise

and unintended consequences.

And it's those consequences that I want to explore.

And before we get to how future tech may affect us,

I'd like to spend a little time exploring the unintended consequences

of some of our recent tech,

namely, social media.

Social media, a few short years ago, was the tech of future you.

Now it just is you.

Social media was supposed to bring us together

in ways we could never imagine.

And the predictors were correct.

These three girls are talking to one another

without the awkward discomfort of eye contact.

(Laughter)

I call that advancement.

We were supposed to be caught up in a communication tsunami,

the likes of which the world has never seen.

And that did happen.

And so did this.

(Sings) One of these things is not like the other.

(Speaks) Now, look at this picture.

If you picked the guy with the book, you're wrong --

or, as a certain president would say, "Wrong!"

(Laughter)

Clearly, three of these guys are reading,

and one guy, on the end, is listening to music

and playing "Candy Crush."

(Laughter)

So are we more connected,

or are we just more connected to our devices?

Social media was supposed to place us in a veritable town square,

where we could engage one another with challenging ideas and debates.

And instead what we got were trolls.

This is an actual tweet that I received.

"Chuck, no one wants to hear your stupid, ill-informed political views!

I hope you get leprosy and die.

Love, Dad"

(Laughter)

Now, the great thing about that tweet if you look at it,

just like most trolls, it's not that bad,

because he wished "leporsy" on me instead of "leprosy,"

and "leporsy" is not dangerous at all.

(Laughter)

(Applause)

Along with trolls, we got a brand new way of torturing teenagers --

cyberbullying.

A concept that my 75-year-old mother just can't seem to wrap her head around.

"So, uh, did they hit him?"

"No, Mom, they didn't hit him."

"Did they take his money?"

"No, Mom, they didn't take his money."

"Did they put his face in the toilet?"

"No, Mom, they didn't --"

"Well, what did they do?"

"They attacked him on the internet."

"Attacked him on the internet?"

(Laughter)

"Well, why don't you just turn off the internet?"

(Laughter)

"Your whole generation is a bunch of wussies."

(Laughter)

She's got a point.

(Laughter)

She's got a point.

And I don't even want to talk about what social media has done to dating.

I was on Grindr until I found out it wasn't a sandwich app.

(Laughter)

And I can't even tell you about Tinder,

except for the fact that if you think there is a limit

to the amount of anonymous sex we can have on this planet,

you are sadly mistaken.

(Laughter)

So where do we go from here?

Well, let's just jump right in and play the hits.

Driverless cars.

Something that has already been around for many years,

just without the assistance of computers.

(Laughter)

(Applause)

Because for years, we have been driving while texting,

putting on makeup,

shaving, reading -- actually reading --

that would be me.

(Laughter)

The other thing is that since driverless cars will be shared,

most people won't own cars,

and that means the DMV will go away.

The DMV -- I know what you're saying right now.

"There's no way this guy is going to stand up here

and make a case for the DMV."

Well, I don't know about you, but I do not want to live in a world

where harsh fluorescent lights,

endless lines,

terrible forms to fill out

and disaffected, soulless bureaucrats remind me

that I am pretty damn lucky not to work here.

(Laughter)

That is the real service they provide.

The DMV:

come for the registration renewal,

stay for the satisfaction of knowing you made some pretty good life choices.

(Laughter)

Nobody will own their car in the future,

and that means teenagers will not have a place to make out.

So you know what that means.

That means they will order driverless cars to do just that.

I do not want to step into a vehicle and ask the question:

"Why does this car smell like awkwardness, failure and shame?"

(Laughter)

If I want to ask that question, I'll walk into my own bedroom.

(Laughter)

So what else do we have to look forward to?

That's right, artificial intelligence.

Artificial intelligence, yes.

You know, there was a time when artificial intelligence was a joke.

I mean, literally a quip that you would hear at a cocktail party

when somebody would bring it up in conversation:

"Artificial intelligence.

The only real artificial intelligence is our American Congress.

Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha."

Well, it's not funny anymore.

(Laughter)

Stephen Hawking, Elon Musk and Bill Gates have all gone on record

expressing grave reservations about artificial intelligence.

That's like Jesus, Moses and Muhammad coming together and saying,

"Guy, guys -- here's something we can all believe in."

(Laughter)

You might want to go with that, is all I'm saying.

We are actually teaching machines how to think,

how to understand our behavior,

how to defend themselves and even practice deception.

What could possibly go wrong?

(Laughter)

The one thing that's for sure:

the creation always despises its creator.

OK?

The Titans rose up against the gods;

Lucifer against Jehovah.

And anybody who has a teenager has heard these words:

"I hate you and you're ruining my life!

I hate you!"

Now just imagine that sentiment with a machine that can outthink you

and is heavily armed.

(Laughter)

The result?

Absolutely.

(Laughter)

What we need to do before we perfect artificial intelligence

is perfect artificial emotions.

That way, we can teach the robots or machines

how to love us unconditionally,

so that when they figure out that the only real problem on this planet

is us,

instead of destroying us --

which, by the way, is totally logical --

they will find us adorable --

(Laughter)

like baby poop.

(Laughter)

"Oh my god, I just love the way you just destroyed the planet.

I can't stay mad at you, you're so cute!

You're so cute!"

(Laughter)

Can't talk about this without talking about robotics. OK?

Remember when you thought robotics were cool?

I remember when I thought robotics were cool,

until I figured out that they were going to take everybody's place,

from the delivery guy down to the heart surgeon.

The one thing, though, that is very disappointing about robotics

is the holy grail of robotics,

and it hasn't even happened.

I'm talking about the robot girlfriend,

the dream of one lonely geek in a windowless basement

who vowed one day: "I am going to marry my creation."

And there actually is a movement underway to stop this from happening,

for fear of exploitation.

And I, for one, am against that movement.

I believe we should have robot girlfriends.

I just believe that they should come with a feminist protocol

and artificial intelligence,

so she can take one look at that guy and go, "I am too good for you.

I'm leaving."

(Laughter)

(Applause)

And finally,

I have to talk about bioengineering,

an area of science that promises to end disease before it even begins,

to help us live longer, fuller, healthier lives.

And when you couple that with implantable hardware,

you are looking at the next incarnation of human evolution.

And all of that sounds great,

until you figure out where it's really going.

One place:

designer babies,

where, no matter where you are on the globe

or what your ethnicity,

babies will end up looking like that.

(Laughter)

That boy is surprised

because he just found out both his parents are black.

(Laughter)

Can you imagine him at a cocktail party in 20 years?

"Yeah, both my parents are black.

I mean, it's a little awkward at times,

but you should see my credit rating.

Impressive, very impressive."

(Laughter)

Now, all of this seems scary,

and everybody in this room knows that it isn't.

Technology isn't scary.

Never has been and it never will be.

What's scary is us

and what we will do with technology.

Will we allow it to expose our humanity,

showing our true selves

and reinforcing the fact that we are indeed our brother's keeper?

Or will we allow it to reveal our deepest, darkest demons?

The true question is not whether or not technology is scary.

The true question is:

How human

are you?

Thank you.

(Applause)

Hooded Jacket Tutorial Part 1 - Duration: 16:03.

Hey everyone!

I'm Lizfaerie and today I'm going to show you how to make some basic clothes for your

crochet dolls.

In this tutorial, I'll show you how to make a hoodie style jacket.

In this part of the tutorial, I'll show you how to make the hood part of the jacket.

And in the next part of the video, I'll show you how to complete the actual jacket part.

This pattern is really easy to customize to any size doll.

But I'll be making mine to fit these 2 different dolls, my realistic body doll, and my basic

doll.

Some other things you'll need for this tutorial are:

A crochet hook.

You can use any size you like, I'm going to use a size E (3.5 mm)

A pair of scissors A yarn needle to sew in your ends

You'll need bobby pins or stitch markers to keep track of your stitches

And you'll need yarn.

You could really use any yarn to dress your doll, but I find a thinner yarn works better

to make a light sweater, and thicker yarn works better for making a thicker coat.

So I'll be using crochet thread to make a sweater.

And worsted weight yarn to make a coat.

. I'm using this Rose pink from Caron Simply Soft, but you can use any color you like.

If you're making yours with crochet thread, you might want to add more rows to make up

for the size of the thread, or you could use a different hook size, like a size G (4 mm).

In this tutorial, I'll show you how to make your jacket using worsted weight yarn

If you want, you could use a zipper to sew onto your hoodie when it's done.

But I won't be doing this until the next part of the video.

If you'd like a written pattern, you can find one in my Ravelry store.

The link is in the description below.

How you begin your doll's sweater depends on whether you want the sweater to have a

hood or a collar or neither.

I'll start by showing you how to make the hood.

Then I'll show you how to make a collar later in the video.

So first, I'm going to create a slip knot, then chain 6 to make a foundation chain.

Ok, I've finished with my 6 chains.

Now I'm going to chain 1 more.

And that's going to count as the 1st stitch of the row.

So I'm going to mark that chain with one of my bobby pins.

Now I'm going to single crochet into the 3rd ch from the hook to begin the next row.

I'm going to start every row this way for this part, so that the hood will stay open

at the front.

So now I'm going to single crochet again into the next chain, so I've done 3 stitches so

far.

Now into the last 3 chains, on this side, I'm going to increase.

So I'm going to single crochet twice into each of those chains.

Alright, I've done 3 increases on this side of my chain.

Now I'm going to turn the work, and I'm going to increase into the first 3 chains on this

other side of the foundation chain, starting with the same chain I last increased in.

So I'm going to increase again into that chain, but on the opposite side.

Now I have 4 total stitches in the last chain of the foundation.

Next increase into the next 2 chains.

Now I have a total of 6 increases, three on this side of the foundation, and three on

the other side of the foundation.

Now to finish the row, I'm going to single crochet into the last 3 chains on this side.

Alright, I've finished with my first row.

Now I'm going to chain 1 for the first stitch of the next row, and mark that chain with

another bobby pin.

And once again, single crochet into the 3rd stitch from the hook.

Here at the sides of the rows, this is going to be the front side of the hood.

Now I'm going to single crochet until I get to the first of the 6 stitches at the middle

back of the row.

Which is going to be the seventh stitch of the row.

So I'm going to single crochet until I get to that stitch.

I've already done 2 stitches.

Alright, I've gotten to the 6 stitches at the middle of the row.

Into each of those 6 stitches, I'm going to increase again.

Alright, I've finished my 6 increases.

Now I'm going to single crochet into the remaining stitches of the row.

This is going to be my last row of increase.

But if you want to make the top of the hood bigger, just keep repeating that pattern:

Single crochet until the middle 6 stitches of the row, increase into those 6 stitches,

then single crochet until the end of the row.

Alright, I've finished increasing the top of the hood.

Now I'm going to lengthen the hood until it's long enough to cover the doll's head.

I'm going to keep single crocheting for 12 rows.

Alright, I've gotten to the end of 12 rows of single crochet.

Now I'm going to start to decrease the hood, so that the bottom of the hood matches the

width of the doll's neckline.

To do that, I'm going to count the total number of stitches in the row and divide by 6, then

decrease by the resulting number minus 1.

I have 24 stitches in the row, so I'm going to decrease every 3rd stitch of the row (18

sts total).

Continue to subtract 1 for the next rows of decrease.

Since I decreased the last row every 3rd stitch, in this row I'll decrease every 2nd stitch.

This is going to be my last row of decrease, but if you made a bigger hood you may want

to continue to decrease for a few rows.

Just keep subtracting 1 from the number you decreased by in the last row for every row

of decrease.

For example, if you decreased every 6th stitch in the last row, in next row decrease every

5th st, then decrease every 4th stitch, then every 3rd st, and so on, until you reach the

width you want for the neckline of the sweater.

So I've finished my rows of decrease.

Now I'm just going to single crochet for a row to lengthen the neck of the hood.

You could continue to single crochet for as many rows as you like until you reach the

length of the neck of your doll.

But I'm just going to do 1 row.

And at the end of this row, my hood for my jacket is finished.

So I'm going to pull open the loop of the last stitch of the row, and I'm going to set

this hood aside to finish later.

To finish your hoodie, check out the next part of this tutorial, my jacket tutorial,

and continue where you left off at the end of the hood.

Next I'll show you how to make a collar.

The collared version is really simple.

First of all, I'm using a different color.

This is "Spring Brook" from Caron Simply Soft.

I'm going to start by creating a chain that's the same width I want to make the collar for

the vest.

So I'm going to chain 12.

The length of your chain may vary if you have different tension, a different hook or yarn,

or if you want a wider collar.

So just make sure to measure your chain against the body of your doll.

So I chained 12 for this sweater, since I'll be making it with a narrow collar.

If you made a wider collar, just make a longer chain.

Try to make your foundation chain divisible by 6 though, to make it easier to decrease

later.

For this collar, I chained 24.

To start my next row, I'm going to chain 1.

And that's going to count as the first stitch of the row.

Then I'm going to single crochet into the 3rd chain from my hook to begin the row.

I'm going to do this to begin every row, so that the front of the vest stays open.

Next I'm going to single crochet into each of the remaining chains, since I'm making

a narrow collar.

I'm just going to do the one row of single crochet for my collar, but you can go on for

as many rows as you like to lengthen the collar.

But if you made a wider collar, you should decrease, the same way we decreased the hood,

until the collar reaches the desired width of the neckline of the vest.

So count how many stitches are in the first row of single crochet, and divide by 6.

Then decrease by that number, minus 1, just like when we decreased at the end of the hood,

until the collar reaches the desired size.

For my wide collar, since I had 24 stitches in my first row, I decreased every 3rd stitch

of the row, then I decreased every 2nd stitch of the row.

And when I'm done with the collar, I'm going to pull open that loop, so that I can finish

the rest of the jacket later.

Here's what the hooded version looks like when it's done.

Here's the short, narrow collar version.

And here's the long wide collar version.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial.
