Welcome to Ranger Reviews, a webseries where we look at episodes of the tv show, Power

Rangers and then discuss it!

Today, we're exploring the ninety seventh episode of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers as

well as the thirty seventh episode of Season 2, titled "Forever Friends".

At the Youth Center, Kimberly is practicing gymnastics while Aisha watches like a pervert.

Kim mentions how the competition is going to be really tough, and Aisha's old friend

Shawna shows up, and she's a massive bitch to Kimberly, insinuating that she stole Aisha.

Zedd sees this, and he decides to use this to his advantage.

Shawna asks if she has a broken finger since she doesn't ever call.

Kim volunteers to go away, but Aisha wants Shawna and Kim to become friends.

In shop class, Tommy, Billy, Rocky, and Adam are struggling to put anything together, but

Bulk and Skull are creating jet packs.

Why?

They want to go jetting to catch up with the Power Rangers!

That one thing I definitely thought was wiped from canon!

They go to the park, and they fail miserably before jumping into a random pile of hay in

the middle of the park.

Aisha, Kim, and Shawna are eating together, and Aisha doesn't remember they met in the

1st grade, and Shawna is bitter AF over this.

Goldar appears, and Shawna says "that's the monster I saw on the news!" which is

a nice touch.

Aisha freaks out, trying to call the others, but to no avail, so she runs to shop class,

getting them.

Zedd is mad that they're not mad at Aisha for sucking at saving Kim, and he turns a

random saw into the new monster, Jaws of Destruction.

Kim and Shawna are in that one cave in Angel Grove, in a protected forcefield, and Shawna

wonders why Kim is being so nice to her.

They talk about how both of their parents are divorced, and they talk about how when

someone leaves, it feels like you've lost them forever.

This is some deep shit for Power Rangers.

In the Command Center, Aisha blames herself for Kim and Shawna getting kidnapped, and

Zordon basically tells her to suck it up.

Then, they find out about the Jaws of Destruction, and Tommy says he's going to go get Kim

and Shawna while the others handle the monster.

It's morphin' time!

Also, time to see jetting again!

They do so right over Bulk and Skull who again have a fit with their home made jet packs.

Red, Black, Blue, and Yellow appear in front of the Jaws of Destruction, and he sics putties

on them, turning into a decent putty fight that we saw most of 3 episodes ago in "Lights,

Camera, Action".

The amount of care this show lacked at times is astounding.

Tommy appears outside the cave, fighting the putties blocking the entrance, taking them

all out insanely quickly.

He runs in, finding Kim and Shawna, using Saba to release Shawna quickly, but Kim is

still trapped.

Tommy says "Alpha, teleport Shawna out of here", and Alpha says "right, Tommy".

DUDE, ALPHA, YOU CAN'T JUST USE HIS NAME LIKE THAT.

Luckily, Shawna doesn't even pretend to notice.

Zedd sends Goldar down to take care of Tommy, and Kim morphs after Shawna is gone.

They run out of the cave to find Goldar, and Kim leaves to help the others while Tommy

decides to show off against Goldar.

Why even bother?

They might as well just both leave at this point.

Back with the others, Kim comes flying in, saving Aisha from getting attacked by putties,

and she tells her what happened with Shawna.

The putties get decimated, and Zedd decides this is the perfect opportunity to make his

monster grow giant because god forbid we have any hand-to-hand combat against monsters this

season.

The Rangers call out their Thunderzords, forming the Thunder Megazord.

They fight the monster during a random sunset, and they almost immediately kill him with

the Thunder Saber.

Take that, stakes.

But we still have five minutes left of this episode?

Oh yeah, Tommy and Goldar fight to a stalemate, and Goldar leaves.

What a waste of my time.

In the Youth Center, Bulk and Skull show up all roughed up from their jet packs, and Billy

makes fun of them for being stupid.

Aisha walks in to see Kim getting ready to compete, and in a really, really nice touch,

Kim is wearing Tommy's old green jacket!

Aw, that's cute.

Kim and Shawna are about to compete, but Kim is up first in a performance that really shows

off that Amy Jo Johnson is an absolutely incredible gymnast.

She gets a great score of 9.8, and now Shawna is up, and we learn her last name is Hilton.

Turns out, her actress is also an awesome gymnast, too!

Where was this girl when we were replacing Trini?

She also gets a 9.8, leading to her and Kim getting a tie, and Aisha just grabs the trophy,

giving it to the two of them.

Damn girl, calm down.

The end.

This episode has peaks and valleys, so I guess it's a solid medium for me.

I love the little touches like Aisha's friend from her old high school showing up and being

mean to Kim, them bonding over divorce, and even Kim wearing Tommy's old jacket.

The stuff that struggles is honestly the Japanese footage parts because they're really not

sure how to work them into the stories better, or even what to use.

It's a shame they couldn't have just switched Ranger suits at this point so that this choppy

action didn't have to happen, but I completely understand why they did.

Will next time be better at marrying the two?

Until then, may the power protect you!

Microsoft CDAs on the Importance of Soft Skills - with Zachary Deptawa and Bernd Verst - Duration: 5:35.

Day two of the Microsoft Tech Summit in Frankfurt and I met these great guys from

Microsoft and I asked them what they think about the importance of soft

skills for software developers.

Good evening ladies and gentlemen I'm Patrick

from programmergoals.com and I would say let's start with Zach. Now Zach calls

himself and introverted Linux engineer although I think he gave a great talk at

the Tech Summit. But let's see what he thinks about the importance of soft skills.

I think they're immensely important. Especially, you know, we all

live and breathe in a world of people that feel introverted, and feel like -

you know, they don't feel very -

they don't feel at ease when they go talk to people or talk to large groups.

And we have to be a community. We have to help the community. We have to be part of

the community. So, I think they're super important.

So, although it might not be easy for us developers to approach new people and

talk to each other, it's immensely important to be part of the community

and help each other out. But what about your career? Do soft skills help to climb

the career ladder for instance?

I think so. If you can tell a story and if you

can be relatable I think it's super duper helpful.

Tell your story and be relatable,

check. Now Zach is a Microsoft Cloud Developer Advocate. A position many

developers desire. Did soft skills and getting out of your comfort zone

actually help to achieve that goal?

It did. So I find, you know, it's hard to get on

stage and talk. It really isn't -

a co-worker of mine, Paige Bailey, I think said it best, that the being on stage is

the loneliest spot in the room when you're giving a talk. But it does help. It

does help to get out. Once you you hit that point of fear, it's good to push

past it because that's where awesome stuff is happening.

Yeah, I think it totally helped. You have to be able to talk and be relatable.

You heard him guys, that's where awesome stuff is happening.

Thank you very much, Zach. Now let's talk with Bernd. Bernd actually comes from

Germany. He studied six years in San Francisco, then worked for Google, then

Twitter, then for the government and now he's a Microsoft CDA. So let's hear what

Bernd thinks about this topic.

Well, I think, it's important to understand

really the problem you're trying to solve and the customer. So soft skills are important because we need to

be empathetic to your colleagues that we're working with

and the customer for whom we're trying solve a problem.

So, I'd say empathy is the biggest skill. It's huge. They're

different ways to do things correctly.

You know, as a German, you think there's only one way. There are actually many ways to deliver a solution.

And sometimes understanding different approaches is very important.

Being kind, compassionate, and willing also to take the time to teach people.

Because then

you don't have to

do that in the future again. It's actually an investment that will help you to

really mentor other people and then we can be better developers.

So try to be empathetic and try to teach other people. It's another great way to

connect and communicate with your fellow developers and also with the customers.

And it's also a great way to develop yourself as a person. Now, regarding his

impressive career, what did Bernd actually do to get where he is now?

In all the places I worked the biggest thing is, I had super kind people that were

willing to always teach me and guide me and take the time to

answer all my questions and even if I was annoying them, bothering too

much they would still take the time to help me get up to speed.

I think one thing I've done a lot is -

my roals have been also a lot of

consultative kind of work. So more, for instance, I worked on the Google App

Engine team where I helped Snapchat build some of their application.

And Snapchat, like many other companies, the

developer may have a question, but sometimes what they're asking is not

really what they need. So you want to understand more.

Ask more questions to really understand the problem. Don't make assumptions about what

someone's trying to do. Really try to understand the full picture and then you can help

them and maybe sometimes teach them how to do things even better.

Taking that time, not trying to always do the shortest fastest way to

get to the goal, but really understand the bigger picture

where someone's coming from, their perspective and then that usually provides better solutions - mentorship.

Again it's important to approach people. Ask many questions and maybe annoy

them a little. You may find people that are willing to mentor you, which is

really a fortunate situation but also try to be the mentor yourself eventually.

With mentorship you will be able to understand the needs of other people and

you will be able to respond to them.

So a big thank you to Zach and Bernd from

Microsoft and also to Shayne who I met on the first day of the Microsoft Tech

Summit. Feel free to check out his opinion on soft skills for software

developers. Now that's it for this video. I hope these insights were helpful. If so

please press the like button and, if you haven't already, please subscribe to this

channel. And of course if you know a fellow developer who needs a push in the

right direction feel free to share this video.

Thanks for watching, take care and happy coding.

How Meditation gave birth to ZERO - Duration: 4:54.

we all know how important zero is to the functioning of this modern world and enough has already

been said about the origin of it.

The zero as we see it today - the pristine effortless simple shape which is mastered

by even kindergarten kids in a day or two was once beyond the comprehension of our ancestors.

something could represent nothing was nothing short of a miracle in human history.

zero wasn't just another number to the number system.

it was the anchor for other numbers to recycle itself over and over again to mean different

things without being complicated.

But unlike other numbers zero has a broader aspect to it than its mere numerical value.

to comprehend the idea of zero in its entirety we might need to alter our perception towards

the world.

it demands an altered vision of the reality.

And it is this unique perspective that it demands to unveil itself made it exclusively

accessible to the east back at its origin.

but this is not to say other civilizations never had zero. in fact, Mayans and Babylonians

have its own share of the story of zero.

but the zero in all its glory, the number in its own right that we see today.

The zero that has become one of the lifebloods of our digital world was conceived in the

east and to be precise in India.

So to understand what leverage east had over west that got them zero, we might have to

first understand the difference in the perceptions they had for reality.

well, the way we see the world today regardless of which side it is now is very binary.

everything seems to be drawn with definite contrast.

there are no shades.

no middle way.

We tend to organize perceived reality in terms of opposites: day-night, light-dark, hot-cold,

male-female, good-evil, life-death and so forth.

and what it does is that such perception constricts us to a very limited reality.

like the one we are suffering from now, chauvinism - you are either patriot or downright terrorist.

you are either with me or against me.

And we go on to dichotomize everything in the world, depriving us of the beauties of

ambiguities, the elegance of subtleties and sometimes even leaving us blind to the immense

possibilities, one that could had been zero.

So back in the days, the concrete mind of the ancient Greeks could not conceive the

void as a number, let alone endow the void with a symbol and its because they couldn't

wrap their head around the fact that the emptiness in itself could be an entity.

Their idea of the world and universe, in general, was based on corporeal reality much of which

was derived by linear logic and ascertained by contradictory relationship.

if something is true then there is no way that it can be not true.

In fact, this idea underlies what in mathematics we call the law of the excluded middle which

was first established by Aristotle whose assertion was that that "it will not be possible to

be and not to be the same thing."

There is no middle ground between true and not true.

The very definition of "A" is that it is not "not A," Something cannot be both.

But unlike the west, in the east, there was a gradation to the truth or falsity.

it had more nuances. for any state of affairs, there were four possibilities instead of two.

it could either be true or false or both true and false or neither true nor false.

This originates from Buddhist philosophy called Catuskoti means four corners.

It was employed particularly by Nagarjuna, the most important and influential Buddhist

philosopher after the Buddha himself.

who developed it and engaged it as a 'learning and meditative portal to realize the sunyata

which means emptiness.

it is a common practice among Buddhists that when they meditate they begin with counting

one as they breathe in and 2 as they breathe out eventually slipping into the deep meditative

state which is the void or If could put a name to it now would be zero.

this makes sense why the same void that eluded

the bifurcated vision of the west was so apparent to the kaleidoscopic vision of the east.

zero is the symbolic form of absence and to have sensed its presence one might have first

felt it.

because only with deep introspection one could equate absolute nothingness with a number.

so next time when you come across a zero don't look at it.

look through it and you will see a whole new reality.

Đến Giáo Hoàng Cũng Cúi Đầu trước Đảng Cộng Sản Trung Quốc? | Trung Quốc Không Kiểm Duyệt - Duration: 3:07.

On this episode of China Uncensored,

the Pope wants to give the CCP more authority

over Chinese bishops.

Underground Chinese Catholics

had better say their prayers...

Hi, welcome to China Uncensored,

I'm your host Chris Chappell.

Pope Francis loves China.

Perhaps an odd statement considering

the Chinese Communist Party is officially atheist.

And they have been blowing up Christian churches.

But don't worry, those were Protestant churches.

Who needs those when you have the Chinese Patriotic Catholic Association?

That's the official Catholic church in China.

For decades, the Vatican and the Communist Party

have had a schism—

where the Vatican oversees all the Catholics outside China,

and the Communist Party oversees

all the Catholics inside China.

In China, the Holy Trinity looks slightly different.

The main issue of contention is who has the right to appoint

Catholic bishops in China.

China's position has always been

that the Communist Party gets to appoint

Catholic bishops for state-approved churches—

so they can preach the Good Word

of Jesus Christ with Chinese Characteristics.

This has obviously been a point of contention.

In some individual cases,

the Vatican has given its stamp of approval

to bishops the CCP appoints.

But now Pope Francis is trying to bridge the gap

through broader cooperation with the CCP.

Some Catholics, though,

think this betrays Christ.

A cardinal from Hong Kong explained that

"The official bishops [in China]

are not really preaching the gospel...

They are preaching obedience to Communist authority."

This week the story broke

that the Vatican was asking two bishops

in China to retire or be demoted,

to make way for two Chinese Communist Party approved ones.

It's especially odd considering

one of those state-approved bishops

"was excommunicated in 2011

after being consecrated without Vatican approval.

He is also a member of the National People's Congress,

the Chinese parliament."

And it's also odd considering how the CCP

routinely persecutes underground Catholics

who remain loyal to the Vatican

instead of to the Patriotic Catholic Association.

If Pope Francis is willing to give the Communist Party what it wants

on the issue of appointing bishops,

it may be only a matter of time before

he tries to change the Vatican's stance

on another big issue:

The Vatican is one of the few countries in the world

that still officially recognize Taiwan

to be the true China.

What do you think of the Pope's decision?

Leave your comments below.

Thanks for watching this episode of China Uncensored.

Once again I'm your host Chris Chappell.

See you next time.

Chinese military aircraft enters S. Korea's air defense zone - Duration: 1:57.

A Chinese military plane trespassed into South Korea's air defense zone today.

Although Beijing claims it was part of a routine exercise -- something to note is the flight

route, the aircraft flew near Seoul's territorial waters.

Kim Min-ji files us this report.

A Chinese military aircraft flew into South Korea's air defense identification zone,...

or KADIZ,... for over four hours on Tuesday.

According to Seoul's Joint Chiefs of Staff,... the plane entered the KADIZ at 9:34 AM,...

and later approached about 30 nautical miles, or roughly 56 kilometers, northwest of Ulleung-do

Island in the East Sea -- before flying out of the zone at 2:01 PM.

This prompted South Korea to dispatch fighter jets,... including F-15ks and KF-16s,... to

monitor the plane's activity.

Seoul also called on China via the two countries' hotline... to stop acts that raise tensions

and could trigger accidental conflicts.

A JCS official said that the jet appears to have been a reconnaissance plane -- and that

the government plans to protest the move through various channels,... including the military

and the foreign ministry.

Although Beijing claimed that it was part of a routine exercise,... something to note

is that the flight route was "unusual" in that the military aircraft came very close

to South Korea's territorial waters.

Chinese warplanes had previously flown in the KADIZ only south of the peninsula.

An air defense ID zone is the airspace over land or water that's set by a state to identify

and locate a foreign plane nearing its territory at an early stage.

Chinese military planes have entered Korea's air defense zone multiple times since China

unilaterally declared its own such zone in 2013 -- with some parts overlapping with that

of Korea's and Japan's.

A Chinese military plane last entered the KADIZ in late January.

March TBR - Duration: 8:20.

Hey guys, I'm Lou and in today's video, I'll be doing my

March TBR

I'm trying to make you so you can't see the books

I am filming on the 24th of February so I might end up reading these books before I actually

start March. If I do

It'll be my February wrap-up

I have 5 books in my TBR. Three of them are diverse reads that I'm really looking forward to getting too.

But the month of March is gonna be a really busy time for me.

It's when I'm going through writing my 10,000 word dissertation and then in

April I'm doing an eight thousand word essay.

So I might not get a lot of reading done. The most I've ever read in the month was

19 books and that was January of this year. The least I've read is nothing so...

It's gonna be somewhere in those scales my predictability of how many books I'm gonna read this month.

But I should hopefully get around to all these on my TBR. Let's get into this. The first book I want to read in March is

The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas.

I can hear like the screams some people being like, "You hadn't been read it yet!"

I found it in my local charity shop for £2

two weeks after release day. So really I've had no excuse for not reading it since. It's just that I've been really afraid because

this book is

like a hard-hitting YA book and most of the time when I want to read

contemporary young adult books. I don't want hard-hitting.

I want relaxing and fluffy with a good ending.

And I think this book will break my heart. The Hate U Give is inspired by the Black Lives Matter Movement

It follows Star. She is a witness to her best friend being shot and murdered by police and it

follows the consequences of that. I don't really know much else about this, and I don't really want to know much else.

I want to go in it almost blind. I think there's a romance in this. I could be wrong.

There's also a movie coming out. I'm sure you know about it by now.

In

March. You might not know this. On the 24th of March, Angie Thomas is coming to London.

She's doing an event with Waterstones.

And she's talking about The Hate U Give, her new book, On The Come Up and the movie

For The Hate U Give and I'm going to that event with one of my friends.

And I'm getting the exclusive Waterstones edition so this in yellow. Hopefully I can get my book signed by her.

But I'm not... what's the phrase... holding my hopes up? I'm not getting my hopes up. That's it!

I'm not getting my hopes up if I don't manage

to get my my book signed, but I'll just be happy to see her from a distance

I'm really looking forward for this book. I can imagine this book being a four or five stars for me.

It's just I've been really afraid of getting heartbroken. The second book I want to read in the month of March is

Ready Player One by Ernest Cline. I haven't read this book either.

I actually lent this to my dad because I thought that he would like it, and he read it really quickly. Like

really quickly for him. He normally reads like one or two books a year, and he read this probably within a month. So,

you know it's good when a non-reader reads it that fast. Ready Player One is set in a sort of

dystopian future where the world is

Not in a good place. It's filled with hunger famine, and the only way to escape is through the

virtual reality world called the Oasis.

But there's an easter egg in the Oasis. Whoever finds the easter egg gets control of the Oasis.

It's being made into a movie. My dad wants to go see it, so I should watch watch it. "I should watch it?"

I should read it before I watch it. And the trailers looks really good.

The third book I want to get round to in March is Love, Hate & Other Filters by Samira Ahmed.

Did you manage to hear me?

I thought my voice went halfway through I said all that. Love, Hate, and Other Filters is about this teenage girl called Maya. That's it.

And I'm guessing she's an aspiring photographer

And

There's a terrorist attack and the

terrorist shares the same surname as her. So she has to deal with Islamaphobia. And that's all I really know from this book.

I don't want to research too much into them, because I don't really want to be spoiled.

I am looking forward to this book, but one of my friends

Emily. I have two Emily's in my life. One of the Emily's has read this, and she enjoyed it.

But she thought that it should have been longer. I don't really think it would be a 5-star read for me because of that.

But nonetheless I think it will be an important read.

And I think I'll relate to it because Asian families are quite similar whether they're from

north, east, south, west of Asia. The next book. I want to get into in the month of March is

I Believe In A Thing Called Love by Maurene Goo! I literally can't wait to get into this book. This book will probably have everything I'll ever want in a book.

This is about a girl called

Desi and

She uses the knowledge of kdramas to try and win over her love.

I think that's essentially it. And I absolutely love kdramas, and I looked at the back with the interview and

She literally lists so many kdramas that I have seen or want to see. I'm like, "oh my god."

I think I honestly think this will be my perfect

read. I'm expecting five stars, and I really don't want to expect five stars cause what happens if I don't like it?

But I think I'll really relate to this because it's about a Korean-American girl. I think she's Korean-American.

She might be straight up Korean, and I am

half Thai and

culturally they're quite similar, so I'm hoping to relate to

Desi quite a bit. Well though my mom does frown on my obsessional kdramas and Korea.

She hates the fact that I'm not as obsessed about Thai culture as I am about Korean.

I just don't want to put this book down. I want to read it right now, but I'm in the middle of reading two books.

And I'm like I can't pick this book up as well. I want to just experience this book

fully

This might be one of the first books that I pick up in March.

I didn't realize what this book was about until Morgan Matson was like constantly talking about Maurene Goo

on Instagram. So I should really I'm going to thank Morgan Matson.

I doubt I'll ever meet her, but thank you Morgan Matson for talking about Maurene Goo. I might I actually find

A book that I absolutely love.

I'm so excited. Can you tell I'm excited? I'm so excited to read this book.

The final book I want to read in the month of March. Or I'm planning to read in the month of March. I'm gonna read loads of books in the month of March hopefully.

Fingers crossed. Can't actually cross my fingers. Fingers crossed. Is

Sweet Filthy Boy by Christina Lauren I

read Autoboygraphy by Christina Lauren. They're a

co-authoring duo. I really quite liked Autoboygraphy, and I wanted to delve more into New Adult.

And this book was on sale. One of my favourite eBay sellers WorldOfBooks.

They have this special deal on. It's

15% off £20, and I've been buying so many books from them. My TBR

Has grown by a hundred books since the start of 2018

And this is one of the books I bought. Sweet Filthy Boy is, I think, about a one-night stand

that ends up becoming a relationship.

I think this will be what I need to get me out long history books, and I'm really looking forward to reading this book.

I'm hoping this will be the saucy book

that I need.

So that's... oh can you see it? You can see him enough.

So that's it guys. That's my March TBR. Comment down below if you have read these books or which ones I should read first. I'm really excited to read them.

I hope you guys enjoyed this video. I did. I'm really looking forward to reading

Oh God. Now I forgot the name.

But I am really looking forward to reading it though. I Believe In A Thing Called Love. I'm really looking forward to reading that one.

I'm really looking forward to reading all these books.

Thank you for watching, and thank you for clicking on this video. I hope that you will subscribe!

I'm so excited! I should start reading now.

Bye
