Weird Things Everyone Just Ignores About Kelly Clarkson's Marriage - Duration: 4:57.

Kelly Clarkson is one of the most successful recording artists to emerge from the world

of American Idol, releasing hit after hit since she won the first season back in 2002.

Her other half, music manager Brandon Blackstock, is also at the top of his career, but while

these two seem smitten, that doesn't mean there aren't some quirks in their relationship.

Here are some things you may not know about Clarkson and Blackstock's marriage.

Taken

Clarkson and Blackstock's meet cute was a very slow burn.

They started dating in 2012, but they first met in 2006 at a rehearsal for the Academy

of Country Music Awards, when Blackstock's father Narvel was Clarkson's manager.

In 2017, Clarkson recalled their first meeting on a SiriusXM show, saying,

"Literally, I'm not joking, he walked past us at that time…

I was like, ready to take it all off.

I just felt something."

But at the time, Blackstock was still married to his first wife.

Clarkson explained,

"[I] ain't that girl.

Honestly, I didn't even talk to him."

Blended

While many blended families struggle to get along, Clarkson thrives in her role as a stepmom

to Savannah and Seth, Blackstock's children with his previous wife.

Clarkson told Ryan Seacrest in 2013,

"We all live together and everything.

It's so different, but it's perfect.

They're awesome, and I actually really dig the mom thing.

We all work really well together, but I'm totally my mom.

My mom was a hard mom.

I'm probably that mom."

The married pair are also parents to daughter River Rose and son Remington.

Date night?

Clarkson and Blackstock are so busy being loving parents and successful collaborators

that it's hard to find time for themselves.

Luckily, James Corden came to the rescue during Clarkson's "Carpool Karaoke" appearance in

2017.

"Do you get to spend a lot of time together outside of work, the two of you?"

"I think it's difficult because obviously, I work a lot and I'm a mom, but we try."

"Is this Intervention?"

Blackstock then showed up, and Corden proceeded to set up a backseat date for the couple.

"Okay, it's a date night the kids aren't here."

"I feel like we're making a porn."

Former mother-in-law

In case you missed this weird connection, for a while there, Reba McEntire was Clarkson's

mother-in-law.

The country music icon was married to Blackstock's father for 26 years, before the two divorced

in 2015.

However, Clarkson and McEntire have remained close since the split, getting together for

family gatherings and continuing to collaborate musically.

Clarkson spoke candidly about their relationship on Watch What Happens Live, revealing that

they text, talk shop, and share videos with the kids.

"She actually texted me at like 7 in the morning at LA time and she knew I was in LA and I

was like what are we doing?'

Manager/husband

Though his father originally worked for Clarkson, Blackstock eventually took over managing his

wife's career, which weirdly enough, did wonders for their marriage.

Clarkson claims it works perfectly because he truly understands every part of her day,

whether she's in a great mood or feeling bummed out.

She told People in 2016,

"At the same time we do have these moments where I'm like, 'Okay, you're managing me

right now.

And he will be like, 'Okay, you're being that really artsy person that's like up and down

right now.'"

While she claims they are, quote, "yin and yang," Clarkson now understands why so many

of her role models married their managers.

She explained,

"With this specific job, it's such a busy job.

It's 24/7, so if I weren't [managed by him], I wouldn't be with him.

So it kind of makes sense.

I think that's why Céline [Dion] did it.

I think that's why Mariah [Carey] did it.

I know a lot of artists do that because it makes sense."

Anniversary fails

Clarkson and Blackstock obviously make a great team, but sometimes their busy schedules conflict

with important moments in their personal lives.

We have forgotten two out of four of our anniversaries.

But the great thing about us is we collectively do it.

It's not like one of us forgets and one of us remembers.

We both epically fail."

In 2017, the couple was completely distracted by the release of Clarkson's holiday hit,

"Christmas Eve."

Clarkson revealed that after wishing her husband a "Happy Christmas song release day" that

morning...

"He was like, 'Or happy anniversary,' I freaked out.

I panicked like I'm the only one who forgot, but he forgot too."

Turns out Blackstock was reminded about the big day by social media posts from fans!

Clarkson shook the whole thing off, saying,

"We're so happy we just forget.

Every day is an anniversary."

This romantic pair may have their share of quirks, but at the end of the day, Clarkson

and Blackstock are total "#relationship-goals."

"Even if someone doesn't like it I'm like well you suck and you have no taste at all."

Just take a peek at the "Love So Soft" singer's Instagram feed and see if you can even handle

all the cuteness!

"You're tryin to make me cry right now, you're tryin to Oprah me, you're tryin to Oprah me!"

February Favorites 2018 - Duration: 8:00.

Hi everyone! I'm Mariana. Welcome to my channel.

Today is the last day of the shortest month of the year. So I'll talk about my favorites from this month.

I'm recording this on February 25th. So there are still three days left for there to be more favorite things

but for now I'll talk about what I liked until February 25th.

I'll start by talking about two events I went to that I really loved.

The first one was an event from WeWork.

Which, I didn't know what that was about.

I heard from it like 2 days before the event.

My sister told me I could register and it was free.

And I was like "Oh well, then I'll do that".

I registered, and honestly I didn't even knew what was it I was going to.

When I got there, it was a job fair

and there were many stands which sold mexican stuff.

Accessories, clothing, it was all about entrepreneurship.

And turns out that this event had 2 masterclasses.

And one of them was with Natalia Lafourcade!

"Happens something magical"

I love Natalia Lafourcade and I had no idea she would be there.

So that was a pleasant surprise.

It was an interview of about half an hour,

and although it was short, I loved everything she had to say.

And more than anything I loved the fact that it was a surprise for me.

Because I really had no idea what I was going to see, and I loved that.

In this event everything was included. There was food, an after party with drinks.

It was very well organized.

And the next time they have an event like this I'll be on the watch for it.

Another event I went to was Bahidorá, which is a festival

that takes place in Las Estacas.

It's very bohemian,

very ecologic, I liked that they take care of the environment.

They promote the environmental care and recycling.

And trying to make a better world.

And I loved that people respected it.

This was in Mexico. And when I've gone to festivals here

and you get out, you go kicking trash everywhere.

It's very dirty.

But here, everything was very clean,

everyone respected it, everyone put the trash in the trash bins.

And that gave me a plus for the event.

Its during a whole weekend, and you can camp over there.

Which is part of the experience.

I would do it again, I really loved it.

Another favorite was that my boyfriend's birthday was this month

so we also went to Bahidorá to celebrate.

Those were my favourite experiences.

On movies.

February had all the movies that 2017 lacked.

In 2017, sometimes I went to the movies and there was nothing good on.

And February is compensating for it.

Trying to compensate it on the shortest month of the year

so I've being "living" at the cinema trying to catch up with all the good movies.

Out of all this good options I've seen, my favorites were

Darkest hour, Black panther, Lady Bird, Call me by your name.

On Netflix I watched the series: The end of the f***ing world

And I loved it, I finished the series and wanted to watch it again.

Maybe I'll watch it again now. Because I fell in love with it.

Everything is beautiful. It's just 8 chapters long.

The cinematography is gorgeous, it reminds me a lot of Wes Anderson.

This story is based on a graphic novel.

And the ending of the series is a bit...

Well, I haven't read the graphic novel, but I understand they left it ambiguous on the series

so they could have the opportunity of doing a sequel and make more money.

But, if you've read the graphic novel,

let's say it ends the same but not as specific.

It has violent scenes, so under your own responsability.

But yeah, it has violent scenes, I mean it's about a boy who considers himself a psychopath.

With that premise you can guess how it's gonna be.

But this is black comedy.

It's a sarcastic humor. Is not that you're gonna watch a dark series, it's meant to be dark humor.

Also, I like to listen to a lot of podcasts

and this month I discovered The Director's Cut.

It's about directors talking about their movies.

And they're talking to another director.

So let's say it's Guillermo del Toro talking about The shape of water

and there's another director asking the questions.

Because it is between directors, they know what they're talking about

and it deepens more on how they make movies.

And the situations they go through.

The chapters are very short. About half an hour each.

And it's really entertaining listening to the directors talk about this.

You can find everything i'm referring to in this video, down in the description box.

And from books!

My favourite was The trouble with goats and sheep by Joanna Cannon.

But I've also been reading,

since January I started Good night stories for rebel girls.

They're one page stories with illustrations.

That's why I'm not reading it quickly, 'cause I like to read a few, then do something else

so I can absorb the stories.

The illustrations are beautiful.

Everything is done by women.

The authors are women, Elena Favilli and Francesca Cavallo.

It's about women who have left some mark on the world.

And the illustrations are made by women.

Until now, my favorite has been

this one from Justine Lecouffe

It's very difficult to draw old people. And I loved this one.

And today I started a graphic novel which surely I'll finish

during February, so it could be in my favorites. I'm sure of it.

It's The One Hundred Night of Hero by Isabel Greenberg.

This book is huge, it's made to be read at home because I'm not gonna carry it everywhere.

Although it's giant, I like that is a hardcover, I like the color inside,

and the style of the graphics...

repeats frequently the color from these pages.

I hope I'm not spoiling anything.

Well, the point is that it has this illustration style

which I like a lot.

And, it's short. I mean is a graphic novel, you read it quickly.

I have nothing regarding shopping

because I'm trying to buy only necessary things.

So my necessary shopping from this month was food.

I like food.

Those were my favorites from this month.

I think this is an interesting exercise to do each month.

To see if we're getting some value out of our lives.

And enjoy the good things in life.

Thanks for watching this video, see you in the next one. Bye!
