Julien Blanc's Best Motivational Speech: NEVER BACK DOWN (Motivational Speech For Success In Life!) - Duration: 3:32.

- [Julien Blanc] Anyone here going through adversity,

going through something bad,

how do you know it's bad?

That question is huge, how do you know?

And then reflect on how ignorant you are.

Because what is really a life crisis?

It's when things don't go according to your plan.

How do you know what's best for you?

And really reflect on how little you know

about the world, the universe, about how...

We know nothing.

We're so stupid, so stupid.

You have no idea and we're so quick to judge shit.

As soon as something... "it's not going according to plan,

"fuck, why is this happening,"

stop judging it, how do you know?

And then reflect back on all those things

you thought were bad for you,

and how maybe in the long run, they weren't.

You don't know what's good for you or not,

stop judging it, and as soon as you stop judging it,

shit gets way easier,

'cause that's what holds us back,

we think it's bad for us and then we resist it

and there's all the... "why is this happening"

and the self-hate, if you're just like

"fuck yeah" adversity.

You don't know what's good for you or not,

stop judging, you're on this ride that is life,

you're already on the fucking ride,

your seatbelt's fucking strapped in,

you can resist it and judge every up and down

or just go with the flow.

You're here till you die, go with the flow shit.

You don't know what's good or not,

why not just embrace it all and just view it as contrast.

As you were asking with different emotions,

that's what makes life interesting, it's the ups and downs.

If things were going well the entire time,

how boring would that be?

You can think you know more than the universe

or the universe has your back.

Now fuck should I know if the universe has my back,

but guess what?

Life's a lot easier if you adopt that belief.

(Mumbles) It's like here's a new flavor, here's a new face,

you could even view your life like a fucking movie,

it's like here's the next scene,

you've exhausted that scene,

you've reached that point where there's nothing

to learn from that scene anymore,

you won't expand from that phase of life

so here's something new,

and it's always extremely uncomfortable

because you're kinda shoved into the unknown,

it's out of your comfort zone,

again if you won't expand, life will help you expand,

and if you go with the flow, shit's way easier.

Find it exciting that you are back to ground zero,

but in a new area, so here you are in this new phase

and you can resist trying to go back

or let's see what up.

This is also a huge thing when it comes to adversity.

Stop focusing on whatever happened

or on blame and look for the lesson.

So it's not like "oh this happened, what if-"

It's what's the lesson here?

Imagine this was for your own good,

what's the lesson, what can I take out of it?

And there's always some kind of lesson

or some kind of opening.

Trek Checkpoint - Duration: 3:42.

Gravel has gotten to be really interesting and really visible in the past few years.

What's been known as a smaller category has been growing and growing.

We wanted something that if you're out on the road and you saw some cool path, some cool trail,

you could take it, and the tire wouldn't hold your bike back.

You could just go, explore, maybe find some trouble.

It feels like mountain biking did back in the '90s.

There's a whole lot of discovery going on and people are finding new rides.

They're exploring their home areas but in places they didn't ride before.

So, yeah, it's very much like a mountain biker's road bike.

I think that's what's really cool about it, it's not a road bike, and it's not an adventure bike.

It's something of its own.

That really speaks to the versatility of the platform; it can really cover a lot of that rider's needs.

Whether it's the distance or the terrain, the bike can pretty much handle anything.

We actually began with Boone's geometry.

But, we knew that the rider looking for a gravel bike wanted a little more stability and lot more tire clearance.

What we've landed on with Checkpoint is a bike that's still maneuverable and fun to ride,

but more steady on unsteady surfaces.

We realized that there was going to need to be some special features.

Trek already has a really deep toolbox full of technologies that were going to really resonate with this customer.

Features like IsoSpeed for shock absorption,

Stranglehold for adjustability and the ability to run the bike as a single speed,

OCLV Carbon, the industry's best carbon fiber technology, full Shimano gruppos.

All models will have hydraulic disc brakes and one of the industry's best gravel tires, the Schwalbe G‑One in a 35c.

So many mounts, but there was a very conscious effort in placing all those mounts.

Having talked to a lot of riders, we came out with a bike

that's pretty versatile in just water bottle spacing and auxiliary mounting locations.

We really wanted to maximize the storage capabilities on that bike with all of the mounts.

Another feature that we didn't want to overlook was this bike is being ridden off road.

With that, you're going to start seeing a lot more debris being thrown up at your bike,

so we decide to investigate Carbon Armor.

So that's why we placed it on the downtube and along the chainstays,

to protect that frame from rocks being flung up, making a road bike just that more robust and rugged.

Gravel demands a broader gear range.

So, we got the widest range cassette that we could put on these bikes in a compact front chain ring.

We incorporated the asymmetrical chainstay.

We moved the drive side chainstay down and away to make a better tire clearance without over-complicating the bike.

We've created this bike, and it's got so much tech and so much content to it.

We really don't want you to get hung up on it.

We just want to enable you to get out and have a really great ride.

This bike really is that piece that gets me to think about riding as a kid again.

And being able to get back to that is pretty awesome.

"What was taken by force can only be returned by force": Palestinians, what does that mean? - Duration: 18:36.

What was taken by force can only be returned by force

Do you agree?

Yes

I am with this and agree with this

Lofti Ramallah

Realistically, we don't have anything

in our hands, we don't have any weapons

We don't have any weapons

We don't have a president who will stand with us

to get our rights

So realistically, we don't regain our rights

other than with the rock

Right now, the Israelis are the ones who use weapons

and the Palestinians don't have any weapons

What was taken by force can only be returned by force

do you agree with this statement

What was taken by force can only be returned by force?

I don't know how to answer this question

Of course, yes

There are many ways

but of course, there has to be force

"force" also means strength

He's asking for examples

I said we want peace and we are going to use force or strength

What we use

What strength should we use to have peace

I have no idea how to answer you

Leith Bethlehem

I am not sure

Maybe yes

Not everything with power (force) is going to work

No, not at all

The big head (leaders)

Different mind it depends on the people

with who you are

Exactly

Different minds

between people

Not all people will think this way

think with force

maybe you can speak for a solution

What do you think of the phrase "what was taken by force, can only be returned by force"

It's true

Aya Ramallah

Anything that was taken by force

will not be regained or returned

unless force is used to bring it back

Because if we just let things go as they were

or just take things easily

let them slide

we will not regain our rights

Yes, correct

Our right will not be regained

unless we defend it

When the young men go

and they have clashes with the Israeli soldiers

and the soldiers have their weapons

we, or the Palestinian youth

are defending their right

Yes

using a slingshot

We use simple things but on the other hand

the Israelis are using weapons

When it comes to this subject may God have mercy

on the souls of the (Palestinian) martyrs

each person wants to

or was thinking of defending their own land

but I believe that this is not our nature

and we can resist using other ways

with education

we can have awareness campaigns

It is true that our martyrs are now gone

and left their families behind

because they were thinking of us Palestinians

but I don't think this is the right way

this is the wrong way

If you kill one Israeli

what's that going to do?

Our youth is dying

we are losing our youth

Ismaeel Ramallah

Sometimes yes, sometimes no

Sometimes it has to be by force

You can't do it just by

saying things

Like when already all the Palestinian people have been killed

Nobody cares

Every day you wake up in the morning

and you see somebody was killed

every day, every day

Now it's routine for us

to hear about that

so I guess we need sometimes to have force

to fight against the Israelis

so we can live a life

If you kill one of us we can kill one of you

Yesterday I was in Nablus

I worked late at night

When I went late by the

My... did not allow me to go home to Ramallah

because it was 2am

What they say?

They say that if you could just cross the border

the checkpoint

then maybe the soldiers will stab you

and throw something next to you (a knife) and just kill you

Yes, lots of people have been killed

just like that

Sorry, but it's our land

we have to resist

Some of them, yes

Throwing a stone is not like shooting a bullet

Yes, lots of accidents that they have thrown (a knife)

Both of them yes

Somtimes they... yes

but a few people

I have watched lots of videos

small people who just

has a fruit knife, what is he going to do with a fruit knife

(a fruit knife)

So that's not going to kill anyone

It's not like you have to kill him because he has this small knife

You can just take the knife from him

by anything

Fareh Nablus

I believe that this phrase

is correct sometimes

Here in Palestine, we are living in a political situation where

we are struggling to survive

so we can apply this phrase

because at some point our land was taken

by force

and without even asking us

this is very serious

so on our side

so we are not applying the statement per se

and only this statement

but we have to regain our lands even if it's by force

Exactly

Exactly, this is historical Palestine

before it became knows as the "1948 lands"

It is the lands which are on the inside (Israel) which is the 1948 lands

it is also the settlement lands (West Bank Jewish settlements)

the IOF

The Israeli Occupation Forces

would shoot us with bullets when we throw at them stones

so this is the force I am talking about

it might not be armed (force) (using weapons)

but it justifies

what we are doing

towards our end goal which is to liberate our lands

I am not saying specifically rocks

I am talking about freeing our lands and liberating our lands

in any way to regain the lands that were taken from us

at some point that were taken by force also

I prefer not to answer such questions

because I don't have a strong knowledge on this

but we do not justify terrorism in any way

What we are trying to do is not terrorism

we are trying to

exercise our freedom that we have to have

What do you think of the following:

What was taken by force can only be returned by force

Saladin Jenin

Force is important in almost all places

If there was a right without force, then it would be a weak right

I don't understand that What does he mean?

Any right that is not protected by

force or by a power

cannot be protected, it would be weak

and all of history

the love of force and power

has been the reason behind a lot of problems

and anguish

but the weak are strong as long as they hold on to their rights

but the force or the power of the other, the Israeli

will not give them the right for their existence here

There have been many nations

who have been strong but then they

have gone

Force is important but

we have been trying not to use it

because we have been doing this war for over a quarter of a century

negotiating, talking, demanding and asking

It has been proven

It has been proven that the Jews will not

adhere unless it is with force

They did not leave Lebanon They did not exit Lebanon

had it not been for force

We hope there will not be any wars

and that they give us our rights

I would like to add

something to this

Amar Jenin

This statement that we are asking about

"what was taken by force can only be returned by force"

does not work anymore in this age and time

because those who have the power

are threatening

to destroy the world

I will give you an example

The president of North Korea

said I have a button for the nuclear weapons

on my desk

President Trump said

I have a bigger and more powerful button

So the world is between two buttons

like a war of buttons

so about which force are you asking about?

The strength of a power of people under occupation

or the force and the power of

of a button

When the Palestinian people resist

this is not force

this is only defending a right

We are resisting with our steadfastness and our bare chests

No, no, no

That's not what they meant, ok

No, we are against killing

They are talking about non-violent resistance

The resisting Palestinian

aims at peace

and it doesn't have to be military force

it can be the power and force of

believing in what's just and right

We have three demands:

Love

Security

Peace

Why Your Democracy Sucks! | a F.P.T.P breakdown - Duration: 8:26.

Your Watching Video Dose Daily

Hi, Christian Here

If you've been watching this channel for

any length of time, you'll know that I love politics

all that being said, most people think that politics

is an abstract concept that doesn't effect them

when in fact, politics and the people involved

heavily influence our day to day lives

One of the most influential policies that determine how well a government runs

and what they can get away with, is an electoral system.

and that's just what we are going to talk about on

This episode of Video Dose Daily - "Why Your Democracy Sucks"

Don't forget to like and subscribe and hit the notification button to get our latest content

This video, will primarily deal with the United States and Canada

Who both use the same way to elect their politicians

First Past The Post

First Past the Post, often Abbreviated F.P.T.P

Or "Winner Takes All"

Is a voting System that requires a citizen to indicate

On a ballot, the candidate of their choice

The system has two main rules:

1. Each Citizen get one and only one vote

2. The candidate with the most votes wins

This deceptively simply system seems perfect

And without Fault, but in fact it has major

flaws that cripple a countries democracy

and creates and unhealthy political climate

that hinders the growth of minor parties

to truly understand how flawed this system is

lets imagine this scenario

Alaska and the norther territories of Canada

are tired of not being fairly represented in their government

and they demand independence

Amazingly, the US and Canada give her, her freedom

and the country of Nordania is born

with the ability to run her own elections

Nordania decides to use First Past the Post

as their voting system

as they believe its the best way to choose a leader

for their newly formed country

Lets take a look at how this would pan out.

In the first Nordanian election

there are seven parties running for office

the candidates are:

The Vegan Party

The Vegetarian Party

The Bread Party

The Salmon Party

The Chicken Party

The Truffle Party

and Bovine Party

The Candidates go to a couple events

kiss a few babies

and cut some ribbons

and when election night comes around - the results are as follows:

The Vegan Party at 7%, the Vegetarian at 15%

Bread at 19%, Salmon at 22%

Chicken Party at 18%, Truffle Party at 13%

and Bovine Party at 6%

In this election, we can see that the Salmon party

has a lead with 22% of the votes

so they are now declared leaders of the country

for one term

Hopefully the pitfalls in this system are obvious

The Salmon Party, with only 22% of the support

from the citizens, are now in charge

and represent everyone, even the 78%

majority that didn't vote for them.

and this could have been a lot worse

imagine if there where ten parties running for office

the Salmon Party, in theory

would only need 11% of the vote to win

The problem with minority rule is just the beginning

the second problem wot first past the post is that

given enough time, it will lead to an unavoidable two party system.

which gives even less representation to its citizens

[Candidate Pruning] - Thin the Herd

The Salmon party have finished their term in office

and again its time to elect a ruling party.

Except this time, people remember the election results

and this is going to change how they vote.

More specifically, the Vegan and Bovine Parties,

who have to face the hard facts that they backed unpopular candidates

who don't have a chance at winning

The Bovine supporters

who where unhappy with Salmon Party rule

are going to vote for Chicken Party

knowing that their votes will help keep the salmon party out of office.

Now, the Vegans want to vote for the Vegetarian Party

which is the candidate they have most in common with.

But they are afraid to. Because the Salmon Party is now running a negative campaign

against her competitors.

Vegans, not liking the idea of Chicken Party rule

vote strategically for Bread Party.

In the next election, the votes are as follows:

Vegetarian Party at 15% , Bread Party at 26%

Salmon Party at 22% , Chicken Party at 24%

and Truffle Party at 13%

The Vegan and Bovine Party, seeing their poor results

and knowing the cost of their campaigns, now drop out of future elections.

What started as a seven party system is now down to five.

Fast forward to next term, and only five candidates run

only, this time its the Vegetarian and Truffle Party

who have to come to terms with the fact that they are facing defeat.

The bread Party, who was the previous winner

Runs a negative campaign to capitalize on the fears of

the voters on the opposite side of the political spectrum.

The Vegetarian and Truffle Supporters,

fearing the parties they disagree with most coming to power

strategically abandon their first choice, to prevent

the other from coming into office.

After this election, the results are as follows:

Bread Party at 41% and the Chicken Party at 37%

The Truffle and Vegetarian Parties

like the others before them, drop out.

In this last election

We are going to look at the Salmon supportes

because they are unhappy.

They really like the party they support but now

have to compromise.

The centrist Salmon supporters split their vote.

Supporting the candidate they like most from the two parties

The end result is the Bread Party with 52%

and the Chicken Party with 48%

meaning Bread wins another term.

the Salmon Party are the last to drop out, leaving only the Bread and Chicken Party remaining.

We are now down to our familiar two party system.

Because of the centrist and sway-able Salmon voters

future election may end with a Bread party victory

Only for Chickens to take it back, and on and on the cycle will continue.

But the two main parties never change

The citizens of Nordania are now stuck in this system!

not because they are bad people

its because they lack understanding of how their electoral system works

First Past the Post will always end in a two party system

often with many unhappy voters

And now, 63% of the citizens are stuck with a candidate that isn't even their first choice.

Its these voters that choose not to take an interest in politics

because they feel there is no effective way to have their voice heard

or to get the changes they want

but this is only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to First Past the Post

lets move onto...

[Gerrymandering] - Curve the Odds

If the citizens are divided into groups before they vote

they are vulnerable to Gerrymandering.

lets imagine 12 homes

each represents a single vote

Politicians have enormous incentives to create safe seats for themselves

Even though it may misrepresent the majority of the citizens

the US has Absurd examples of this

with places like North Carolina, which has electoral regions similar to puzzle pieces

The Washington post has an interactive map of Gerrymandering in the United States

I strong suggest you view it after this video to see how your region stacks up

[Links and Sources below]

Now, you - seeing the democratic process in a new light

might be thinking, "lets vote for a third party"

we must "drain the swamp"

but there is one last fault in First Past the Post

And it makes a third party victory nearly impossible.

[The Spoiler Effect] - Divide and Conquer

Lets imagine its been year and years of chicken and Bread rule

and people are tired of the old system

With the same old policies and forgotten promises

the truffles decide that right now is the time to enter the race

They fund their campaign

establish a large following

and even debate with the two main parties

when election night comes around, the Truffle Party gets 21% of the total votes

mostly from former chicken supporters

because they are closer to each other on the political spectrum

the Bread Party now has more votes than both parties

and easily wins the election

this is the worst part about First Past the Post

The more the Citizens of a nation push for change

by electing new parties to power

the easier it is for an already established party

to gain total control

Right now, you may be upset with this electoral system that we have in this very country! (US & Canada)

but what other options do we have?

You should be able to vote for the party you like msot

without having to worry

and it should encourage the formation of new political parties

while also ensuring that the smaller parties are able to grow their support

Now that the citizens of Nordania see, and understand the flaws in their system

what can they do to make it better? what alternatives do they have to

First Past the Post
