Waching daily Jun 28 2018

Only one place to start this morning and that's Russia.

As far as World Cup upsets come... they don't get much bigger than what we witnessed on

Wednesday.

In a truly remarkable match,...

South Korea beat the reigning World Cup champions Germany two-nil in their final Group F game.

Despite the stunning win, South Korea are out,... but the squad will come home to a

proud nation with their heads held high.

Our man following the World Cup for us,... Lee Seung-jae,... has the details.

The 13th day of the 2018 World Cup was anything but unlucky for South Korea as they produced

one of the biggest World Cup upsets EVER in Kazan.

The Taeguk Warriors, without their captain Ki Sung-yueng ,... played by far their best

game of this year's World Cup,... keeping the Germans at bay for the duration of the

match's 90-plus minutes.

However,... it was in the third minute of stoppage time that world football shook.

South Korea's Kim Young-gwon slotted home a close-range shot that was initially called

off-side,... but upon closer inspection by the video referee,... Kim was deemed onside

and the goal was awarded to South Korea.

The goal sparked desperate scenes from Germany, as they realized they were heading toward

first-round elimination for the first time since 1938, with goalkeeper Manuel Neuer going

on the offense, leaving a gaping hole for Son Heung-min to slot home an easy second

goal in the sixth minute of stoppage time.

Despite the historic win, South Korea will be leaving Russia along with Germany,... but

it's the Germans that finish rock bottom of Group F.

However, the win was bittersweet as the two-nil victory might have been enough for South Korea

to progress had it not been for a surprise three-nil victory by Sweden over Mexico.

The result means Sweden and Mexico are the Group F teams that qualify for the last 16.

South Korea might be out,... but a new star has been born.

Goalkeeper Jo Hyun-woo,... nicknamed Dae-Gea,.. a reference to his club team Daegu FC,.. and

a comparison to star Spanish goalkeeper David De Gea,... made some of the most impressive

saves of the World Cup so far,... including six against Germany.

Jo's heroics between the goalposts have brought him to the attention of several European teams.

UNESCO urges Japan to let world know of Hashima Island's brutal history - Duration: 1:58.

In other news...

Japan's Hashima Island is where hundreds of Koreans workers were forced to toil in coal

mines.

While Tokyo has failed to implement its promise to let the world know of the island's brutal

history,...

UNESCO urged Japan to inform the world and seek dialogue with South Korea regarding the

matter.

Kim Hyo-sun tells us more.

UNESCO has urged Japan to tell the world about the brutality committed against the forced

laborers of Korea who worked on Japan's Hashima Island during its colonial rule of the Korean

Peninsula from 1910 to 1945.

The decision came at UNESCO's 42nd session of the World Heritage Committee on Wednesday,...

during which the international body reviewed the follow-up measures promised by Japan when

its 23 industrial facilities including those on Hashima Island, which is located off the

coast of Nagasaki in southern Japan, were registered as World Cultural Heritage sites

back in 2015.

Tokyo promised to inform the world about the dark side of Hashima's history.

Yet, the fortress-like island which attracts thousands of visitors annually,... is only

introduced as a coal mine that was opened in the 1940s.

And breaking the promise it made to UNESCO,... Japan dropped the word "forced" when referring

to those who worked on the island, falsely saying that Koreans provided "voluntary help."

UNESCO called for the faithful implementation of its recommendations,... while urging Japan

and South Korea to engage in dialogue on the issue.

Seoul's foreign ministry called such decision "meaningful,"... adding it will continue to

seek dialogue with Tokyo as well as the international community.

The South Korean government's report says about 500 to 800 Koreans are estimated to

have been forced to work under harsh conditions on the island,... and over one-hundred died

from malnutrition or accidents.

"Reengineering Peace for Asia" the 13th Jeju Forum starts off - Duration: 1:30.

Opinion leaders, diplomats and government officials have gathered on Korea's southern

resort island of Jeju to exchange ideas on international cooperation and peace on the

peninsula, among other topics.

Our Hong Yoo takes us to the opening ceremony of this year's Jeju Forum.

South Korea is ready to end the decades-long division on the Korean Peninsula.

Prime Minister Lee Nak-yeon said Wednesday, at the opening of the 13th Jeju Forum, that

the country is seeking international cooperation to build a permanent peace between the two

Koreas.

"The division of the Korean Peninsula was not the choice of our people but the result

of Japanese occupation and the Cold War framework.

We need to overcome this with the help of the international community."

The forum has come at a timely moment, following the two inter-Korean summits and the subsequent

North Korea-U.S. summit that produced a joint statement between Kim Jong-un and Donald Trump

on denuclearization and improving bilateral ties.

So much of the discussions during this three-day forum are dedicated to the question of maintaining

the current momentum towards peace on the Korean Peninsula and turning that momentum

into a permanent peace.

This year's Jeju Forum is expected to see the biggest turnout yet with more than five

and a half thousand people from 70 different countries.

The forum runs through Thursday.

Number of newborns in S. Korea hit record low in April 2018 - Duration: 2:21.

South Korea has been struggling with a chronically-low birthrate for many years now.

And despite government efforts,... so far the situation is not getting any better...

in fact it's getting worse.

With fewer than 28-thousand babies born in the whole of South Korea in April,… another

unwanted record has been set.

Ko Roon-hee reports.

Despite the government's efforts, the number of births in Korea hit another record low.

According to a Statistics Korea report released on Wednesday… the number of births fell

8.9 percent on year to 27-thousand-7-hundred in April.

That's the lowest since monthly records were first compiled in 1981.

The number of newborn babies in the January to April period was also at its lowest level--

less than 120-thousand.

Many South Koreans feel there are two main reasons for this chronic problem.

They believe it's too expensive to raise a child and it takes a long time for a person

to get a job and think about marriage.

"Compared to other countries, private education is very expensive in South Korea.

I think a lot of couples don't have enough money even for the two of them... and many

can't afford to pay extra for their children's education."

"Many South Korean women are stressed when they are applying for universities or jobs.

So after they graduate or get employed, many want to enjoy their own time... instead of

getting married or having a child."

In addition to these problems, a social welfare expert says many pregnant women face discrimination

in South Korea.

"When women get pregnant in South Korea, they are discriminated against both at home and

in the workplace.

At home, they have to raise their child on their own without anyone's help.

At work, some are forced to leave their job.

Women have to overcome this discrimination to raise a child, and many give up in the

first place."

The South Korean government has poured more than 71-billion U.S. dollars into solving

the low birthrate over the past decade... including giving cash rewards to people with

children.

Luminess Cosmetics Tarot Palette Review - Duration: 6:01.

hey guys welcome back to my channel so today I am doing a review video on the

luminess Tarot palettes I have two of them here that I want in a giveaway and

I want to swatch them for you guys and if you want to see them in action like

how they apply with other shadows and primer click on the link down below that

will show you this makeup tutorial it is my zodiac Cancer tutorial and you guys

can see them in action but today we're just gonna be looking on the packaging

the quality of the eyeshadows and how they swatch and tell you a little bit

about the packaging so let's get started the first one I have here is the

strength one and on the back it actually gives you the like tarot card picture

and then it gives you an explanation and so the dynamic strength extends far

beyond mere physical attributes using your inherent strengths along with your

innate ability to suppress emotions as an act to tame and will others your bold

and vibrant vigor will showcase vividly beyond your wildest imaginations make

your passion your strength so this is by aluminous cosmetics and they are

actually based out of Texas so it's a really pretty packaging it's got this

like I'm not sure if this is like a goddess or something on it but it's

super pretty and it opens up like this just like neat art like I think pro

artist palette or something so it comes with a little synthetic brush and as you

can see I used it and it's an okay brush it's definitely better than most but

this one comes with six colors and there's aura passion invincible ambition

infinity and energy today I am wearing ambition and energy and then some of the

other colors on my eyes are from the other palette so I'm just gonna swatch

these on my arm and we'll see how they go so the first one is Ora looks like

this and it's a really pretty metallic pink actually use this on my inner

corner before and it's absolutely gorgeous then we have passion

this one has a bit of silver glitter in it and is more of a purpley red and

again you can see they are super duper pigmented then we have ambition which is

this gold and like I told you guys before you can kind of see these

swatches might be not perfect but that is on my inner corner then we have

invincible which is this kind of white gold this one is super soft and there

you can see what it looks like and then we have infinity which is the blue and

the blue is okay that's two passes there and it's it's more pigmented than others

but yeah so I'm gonna do energy on my other arm this is a really messy swatch

this one definitely applies better when it comes to like your eyelids as you can

see I have it on my eyelids today and we have the moon palette and on the back of

this one it says the nighttime move the nighttime moon is a mysterious place

where things are not always what they seem representing your shadow self the

deep use allow you to dive deep into your soul giving your subconscious a

chance to emanate in a dreamy and celestial beautiful way no matter the

hidden truths that exist in your life the Stars remain bright beautiful and

forever illuminated dream while the moonbeams and it's the same front same

brush same style packaging so the color I'm going to swatch now is illuminate

and it is this kind of vanilla II color which you probably won't be able to see

it's right there then we have empower which is in my crease and this is a

matte brown shade looks like that hopefully

you can see then we have celestial which is basically the same color as empowered

just metallic looks like that right there then we have Eclipse which is this

kind of gunmetal II gray color again it's metallic then we have a lunar which

is seems like a satin shade and it's got a little bit more blue to it than the

other one and lastly we have dream which is this pretty metallic purple and it

just look like that so there is the Moon palette so overall these shadows apply

really nicely and they blend very well but I will say that the blue one

infinity is probably the least impressive out of all of them but all of

the shadows are very prettily packaged and they have a really nice like

embossing on them like there but again if you guys want to see a like in use

kind of thing where I use these shadows check out my tutorial for this look down

below and you guys can get the full effect so I hope you enjoyed this quick

little review and I'll see you guys next time bye

Russian Classic Cars Feature - Gaz Volga Pobeda Soviet Union USSR Cars - Duration: 10:18.

Hi, this is Mambof Jamaican Music Group

Pick up all the viewers from Jamaica and around the world

Welcome to the Kingston Kustom Garage, mini-Russian featured

Today we will be showing you a few Soviet era cars

Hi there, please tell us about this car

This is Gaz-21

Issued in 1966

These cars were in production in 1960-1970

What was the condition of this car at first?

At first, it was just the bulk

The wheels were in a poor condition

There was no paint

The bulk was sandblasted, painted

As for the electric part, we repaired the engine

We also sandblasted and painted the wheels

All in all, the car isn't finished yet, there are still things to do

The roof, some electrical parts require fixing

There's still a lot to do

Do you do all the repairs yourself?

Yes, with my own hands

I wanted to buy a car like this

I'll always be able to get a foreign car

While this is the car for the heart

I wanted to make it with my own hands, compile it fully

I didn't want to go to the car service for someone to deal with it

Wanted to do it with my own hands

How hard is it to restore a car like this, to find the parts for it?

It's rather hard to find the parts

You have to order them or use the new ones

Especially the ones made of chrome-plated steel

The bumper, grids, mirrors

Car stereo

Chrome-plated parts are very expensive

It's usually done at plants

These don't normally chrome-plate such parts these days

So you either have to order chrome-plating

There are agencies installing such parts on demand

As for the parts, for example, UAZ engine fits

And I took the engine from one Volga and installed it here

I repainted and restored it

Would you be willing to sell a car like this and for how much?

I am not ready to sell it for now

I am making it, compiling it for myself

This is a car for my own pleasure

I'd only sell it in case of an emergency

I am making it for myself

The final question, tell us about some funny story

that happened when you were fixing or using this car?

We once went for a ride, arrived here

We came in the evening, went to the cinema, came back

The car wasn't starting anymore

At that time, I didn't understand it too well yet

Didn't know what the problem was

I looked under the cowl, in the carburettor

I went to the UAZ shop, bought new parts, ignition wires

I thought it was an issue with electrics

I changed many things

But it turned out that there was the plus wire in the ignition

I spent half a day here with the car

It turned out that a wire just got unattached

That's why the car wouldn't start

I fixed the wire, the car started and worked

That's the story

Thanks for the chat!

Hi Igor, please tell us what is this car?

This is Volga, GAZ-21

Issued in 1967

What was the original state of the car?

All in all, it looked the same way as now

I changed the interior

There was no front sofa, only separate chairs

The gear box was new, from GAZ-3110, multiple speed

I got rid of it, repaired the engine

Found the new sofa for the front

I changed the doors, the steering wheel

So you did all the work yourself?

Yes

How hard was it?

When it was broken, I'd take it to the car service

But the rest I did myself, what I could

How hard was it to find the parts?

Depends on which part

It took me a year to find the radio

The prices on the internet start at 3.5 thousand

And they don't look that well

I managed to buy the radio and the dashboard for 1,000 RUB

It's not really working, but it looks the right way

It adds to the interior, it's not a hole

Like it used to be at first

I had to go to another city 100 km away for the hooter

Wasn't too expensive

Tell us some interesting story that happened to you

when you were restoring the car or using it

Nothing unusual really happened

They say, don't fix what's not broken

I wanted to improve the car a little after the general repairs

I accidentally broke the cotter pin and had to fix the engine again

Had to take it to the car repairs again

That was rather unexpected

The final question

How developed do you think retro cars and cars in general are in Russia?

I think they have been developing a lot lately

There are fans of retro cars almost in every big city

The make up clubs

The go for rides when opening a season, for local holidays

They are rather successful

Got it, thank you, Igor

Hi Ilya, please tell us about this car

This is Pobeda M-20

Issued in 1956

What state did you find it in?

The car stayed for about 3 years without working

I set up a new battery, it ignited

How hard was it to restore it?

How hard was it to find the parts for the car?

It's hard to say I restored this car

There are lots of new things in it, not original parts

From the engine to the undercarriage

The car stereo

So it wasn't very hard

Certainly, if I wanted to restore it close to the original,

it would have been much harder and more expensive

How did you change the engine, the undercarriage, the gear box?

The engine is from a German car

BMW

The gear box is also automatic from a BMW

The undercarriage is from modern Volgas

Tell us a funny story that happened

when restoring or using the car?

It's hard to remember just one story

Usually, people like retro cars, treat them nicely

The are interested in them, they like to take pictures with it

Also, the road police and just police have a favourable attitude to the cars of the kind

And to the drivers of these cars

I think that's one of the advantages

Okay, then the final question

How well do you think the movement of retro cars is developed in Russia?

I think it's gaining momentum now

People are getting interested in it

There are way more cars that are older than 30-40 years

When I bought in 2007, I seemed to be the only one interested

I bought a retro car to restore it

Everyone used to think that these cars are just old buckets

There are lots of them now

Their numbers are growing annually

People are interested, they like it

Got it, thanks for the chat!

Thank you!

Chinese leader Xi Jinping tells Mattis that China won't give up 'even one inch' of territory - Duration: 0:47.

Chinese President Xi Jinping has warned the United States that China is committed to peace,

but will not give up "even one inch" of territory.

China's state media reports that is what he told visiting U.S. Defense Secretary James

Mattis on Wednesday.

The remarks come amid tensions between the world's two superpowers over what the Pentagon

views as China's militarization of the South China Sea.

U.S. defense officials said that,... while both sides acknowledged points of friction,...

they also sought to focus on their shared goal of denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula.

Mattis is due in Seoul for talks with South Korean officials later today.

Wire Pass Trail to Buckskin Gulch (longest slot canyon in the world) - Duration: 5:43.

Hey everybody and welcome to another video in southern Utah. I'm here with Todd again and

right now we're going to a little site called Wire Pass. I think it's a little slot canyon a little bit similar to

Antelope Canyon but like not as big or spectacular, but we'll see what it's about

Actually, the trailhead to wire pass is right on the way to White Pocket so you can knock out two activities in one day

I think this is about a two mile hike so it's nothing difficult. It's nothing spectacular right now

we're just following this dry creek bed and

See where it takes us

It definitely feels like we're in a western movie and the Indians are about to attack us so

Yeah, we're keeping our eyes peeled

It's getting more canyony by the minute

Now we're talking

Echo! Hey!

Todd's been here

What'd you find

8 foot drop

Hmm it's about eight or nine feet down and

There are really no supports

Gonna take a closer look at it

...A few branches there. I'm an adventurer so I'm gonna give it a try

Okay, I got a foothold there. Hope it doesn't break

It's only a little bit sturdy

So that wasn't too awful, I think it'll be easier going back up than coming down

Todd's gonna stay up there while, I go check out what's down here

From how the map looked it seemed like you can hike this trail all the way to the Grand Canyon

Which is probably like 30 miles away. I don't know if it all looks like this, but I'm not going to find out for myself

someday, maybe if I have a lot of prep time and planning

I could do that, but it is not this day

What is this?!

this is so tempting

Time to test my rock climbing skills

So I made it part of the way up but I could get all the way to the top

But my problem would be coming back down

I kind of need a spotter for that if I don't want to injure myself or take forever

Don't really have that kind of time. So I think it's time to turn back

And call it a day

So that was actually a fun little excursion. It's about six bucks per person at the trailhead

So not technically free but much cheaper than Antelope Canyon

Probably not as scenic, but you can pretty much go as far as you want

20-30 miles. I don't know.

Thanks so much for joining me for this video

If you liked it, let me know in the comments and give it a thumbs up

Bye guys. Love you

What BUPA Loves About Shootsta - Duration: 1:51.

- Shootsta works really well for BUPA,

because we're a large global organisation.

We are communicating both internally, externally,

social, we do a lot of our learning

and development content through videos,

so it's a way of getting the message across,

in a really engaging way.

We love Shootsta, it's changed the way

that we communicate with our employees,

our leaders are more visible, they're more open,

they're more authentic, which is fantastic.

And we've actually introduced a new skill set as well.

So we have 90 people trained up in the Shootsta model,

and that's something that we wouldn't have had before,

and I think it's really great

to be able to offer that for our employees.

So Shootsta taught us about the Hub, Hero, at Hygiene Model,

which works really well for us.

We've had such a great experience with Shootsta.

Everyone from the camera operators,

that come in and film for events

or live-to-scale productions,

to our trainers, who are amazing at teaching

us about the basics of setting up the camera, lighting,

composition, how to create a quality shot.

So at BUPA we quite often have large scale campaigns

spread all across the BUPA world.

Our most recent one was our hashtag grateful

BUPA week campaign,

where we asked people to stop

and reflect on what they are grateful for.

I reached out to the creative team at Shootsta,

briefed in our campaign, and together

we sort of brainstormed some ways that we could

bring it to life using video content.

And what we ended up with, was six amazing

video stories, of our people sharing

what they're grateful for, it was really fantastic.

From a corporate comms perspective,

if you're able to open the gates

and have more contributors producing this great content,

you'll see a higher engagement with your employees,

and I think it's something that people

are crying out for these days, and we love it.
