Waching daily Jan 3 2017

I hate that I am such a weakling.

My tears are making your smiling face blurry.

I could not do anything

But merely looking at your trembling back

As you slowly diminished out of my sight.

The sound of the wind beating on my window is too loud for me to sleep tonight.

However, what's truly noisy is the commotion of my heart.

I'm thinking about you, and I should be smiling,

But I feel a light stinging pain in my nose,

Even though I don't want to cry at all.

I'm such a crybaby, it's irritating.

Your smiling face pricks at my bosom.

Even in times like this, you would be able to keep smiling.

You were truly strong yet gentle.

The flower petals scatter helplessly in the ceaseless rain.

Another season is passing by. I feel something warm on my cheeks.

When I gazed up at the sky, I became wanting to see you,

So I've been running out of breath, even though

I am still not strong yet.

I'm such a crybaby, it's irritating,

But I wish to convey it to you now.

I need to respond to

Those strong yet gentle eyes of yours

That were directly looking at me.

Before I could notice, I had lost the one thing most precious to me.

You were the one who tenderly taught me what it was.

I really do think so, without a question.

I hated that I was such a weakling.

However, I will become stronger and stronger,

So that I would be able to protect you.

Until that time,

Please, wait for me a little longer.

Draw Tip Tuesday - 3D alphabet - Duration: 3:49.

A while ago I made this Draw Tip Tuesday video about getting over your fear of starting a

new sketchbook, by reminding yourself that Done is better than perfect.

I got a suggestion by Larissa to do the whole alphabet of these letters, because that would

help to understand how to create the 3D effect of the shapes.

So here we go!

First of all, let's warm up - I'll be using brown paper, a Lamy Safari fountain

pen with a broad nib and Platinum Carbon ink in it, and a white Uni-ball gel pen.

I'd like to wish you a very happy new year!

May all your wishes come true and your drawing habit flourish!

For this particular kind of letter, you need very simple, one stroke letters.

Once you have those done we'll add a bit of depth to each letter.

Decide on the direction, or angle you want this to be in.

I am drawing short diagonal lines upwards - when we connect the ends, that will create

the effect as if we were looking down onto the letters.

Make sure to keep the diagonal lines parallel to each other, and then you can't really

go wrong.

Do this for all the lines that you see.

You can also play with the angle of your diagonal lines: when you draw them downwards, it'll

look like we are viewing the letters from below.

You can also play with the width of the letters, by drawing your diagonal lines longer or shorter

-as long as you keep them parallel to each other.

I feel like my line could use some more thickness, so I'll trace the lines and this gives me

the chance to correct some details here and there.

Imagine there's a spot light shining from the left onto the letters and think about

where the shadows would fall.

You can use simple hatching lines to darken these bits.

And just because white pops so nicely on brown paper, you can hatch some highlights with

white gel pen.

Of course, now that we're at it, let's add some emphasis on our message!

Now for Larissa's alphabet.

It's helpful to draw some guidelines with a ruler, or to use lined paper.

That way you know that your letters wil all be about the same size as you go.

Again, use simple letters, so that from their ends, you can pull those diagonal lines to

connect later.

Now go in there, decide on your angle, and draw diagonal lines from the ends of the letters.

make sure to keep them parallel to each other and connect them.

once you've done that, your letters have that 3d effect you're looking for.

But if you want you could add a drop shadow like I did in that 'done is better than

perfect' video, or add shading in the letters themselves.

Or both.

Once again, I wish you a happy new year - and if you have any creativity new year's resolutions

for twenty seventeen, in Sketchbook Skool we can help you with that.

Micromesh Sanding Techniques Polymer Clay Tutorial (Intro Vol-026-4) - Duration: 1:42.

Hi guys it's Cindy Lietz, your Polymer Clay Tutor, and in today's video I'm going to show

you how to get a perfectly smooth and beautiful finish on your Polymer Clay Beads using Micro-Mesh.

Now Micro-Mesh is similar to a sand paper product, but it's specially designed for using

on plastics, so I'm very excited to show you how it works today.

Now if you've ever held a perfectly sanded and buffed Polymer Clay bead, you'll know

that it just feels like heaven, it's got a silky smooth satiny feel and it feels a lot

like a polished stone.

In fact, I've got these little stones here that were made with Polymer Clay and my butterfly

wing cane, and they've got kind of an organic feel to it, but they have a lot of… because

the finish is just so smooth and shiny, it feels like a polished stone.

Now there is no gloss or Future floor wax or anything on here, this is just sanded and

buffed using the Micro-Mesh.

Now I've got bins and bins, and you probably do too, of Polymer Clay beads that are unsanded,

and partly the reason for that is because it takes so long.

When you're using regular sand paper, it can take quite a bit of time to get a really nice

finish.

Now what's nice about the Micro-Mesh product is that it's designed

Polymer Clay Art Sheets Tutorial (Intro Vol-028-1) - Duration: 1:42.

Hi guys, its Cindy Lietz your Polymer Clay Tutor, and in today's video I'm gonna teach

you how to make Polymer Clay Art Sheets.

And I have a remnant of a previous art sheet that I made…I have a piece of it left here,

so you get a bit of a feel for what I am talking about.

And I'm gonna show you a bunch of different beads that were made using this technique.

Now here are some tiles with some UV Resin on top, and they were made from that previous

art sheet that I showed you.

And you can see that each one is unique but they all kind of flow together.

I also have a pair of earrings that were done using this technique, and these little teardrop

shapes were each covered with the UV Resin as well, and this is done in a slightly different

color combination than the last set.

I have some cutout shapes that were done using the technique in some Purples and Turquoise

colors.

And you can also take all the scraps that are left over and make some beautiful round

beads with them.

And I've got this bracelet here with the Leopard on it, and it's got some of these art sheet

beads on it.

And I also have a bowl here with all kinds of different ones.

So you can see this technique is very beautiful and has a wonderful look to it.

Now it's fairly simple to do and what's neat about it is that it is completely

Shaded Rose Cane Polymer Clay Tutorial (Intro Vol-032-4) - Duration: 1:48.

Hi Guys its Cindy Lietz, your Polymer Clay Tutor, and in today's video I'm gonna show

you how to make a Shaded Rose Cane with no background.

And this is something you've been asking me to make for you for a while, and I finally

came up with a really nice and simple way to make a beautiful shaded rose.

Now I've got a little garden of roses here, this is an intermediate cane, so if you've

never made a cane before, it's gonna be important that you do know how to do a Teardrop blend…

which is in Volume 9.

And that you know how to reduce a cane, and I recommend that you take the Leaf Cane Videos,

and that's in Volume 10.

But if you are a beginner, you should be able to pull this off with a little bit of practice.

I've got some samples here of what I've made with the Rose Cane.

Here is a pendant that I used some slices in a fabric sheet.

Here is a pendant that was done in a Silver bezel, and it's got UV Resin on the top.

I've got more traditional Millefiori style beads here with several little rose canes

on round beads.

I've got some cane slices used as earrings, here's a pair here in a Dark Copper-y kind

of color.

I've also got a pair of earrings that are in a little cup shape which were baked on

a little marble to give it a real pretty lightweight flowery look.

I also used the ends of the cane to make these really pretty little heart beads which are

perfect for Valentine's.

Now what you're gonna need to do

Faux Druzy Polymer Clay Tutorial (Intro Vol-031-2) - Duration: 2:36.

Hi guys it's Cindy Lietz, your Polymer Clay Tutor, and in today's video I'm going to show

you how to make Faux Druzies.

Now I've been trying to figure out how to do this for quite a while, and I finally came

up with a neat way of copying what Druzies are.

And Druzies are a natural stone that have the crystals on the top, and you may have

seen Amethyst done this way before.

But I got a few different ways of making these really unique stones, and I'll just show you

a few examples of them here.

Now I've got one here that was done with only just a few crystals poking out of the top

here, and it was done in a mold using some Alcohol Inks and other things, and you can

see it has quite a natural stone look.

Here's another one here that looks like that it was embedded in some Faux Jade, and here's

a few, just a few, crystals to the side.

Here's another one here where there's lots of crystals on the top side, and it's in a

Translucent base.

I've got some smaller stones here that were done… here's one in a little locket here,

and this one was done in the same way as the first stone I showed you with some inks and

things, and there's a nice little cavity in here where the crystals are showing.

I've got a couple more that are very similar to that, and they were just done with different

colors of ink, one with ink and one without.

Now, you can also embed these crystals in top of regular Polymer Clay.

I've got a couple of examples here where I've done a Faux Agate type technique, and then

done the Druzy effect on the top here.

And then I have some plain pieces here where I've added… this one here I've used a Black

base and the crystals in the top, and it has quite a neat look here.

This one was a little bit different shape, and I also added a little bit of Micah powders

to the crystals and you get this shimmery kind of Blue look in with the Gold.

And then here's some more with another Micah powders and stuff, so you can see that there's

a lot of really unique looking stones that you can get with this effect.

Now, what you're gonna need for materials

Texture Plates Polymer Clay Tutorial (Intro Vol-029-1) - Duration: 1:51.

Hi guys it's Cindy Lietz, your Polymer Clay Tutor and in today's video I'm going to show

you how to make Texture Plates using Sculpey Mold Maker.

And I've got a few examples here, and here's the clay that we're gonna be using, it's also

known as Super Elasticlay and you'll see why once you start working with it, it's got quite

a flexible and elastic-y kind of texture to it.

I've got a whole bunch of different examples here of small little chips that I've made,

and since we're making mostly jewelry with this I like to make my chips smaller so that

I can use a lot less clay and get a lot more different textures, but you can make the plates

whatever size that you like.

Now I've got a few different examples here of some projects that I've made using the

texture plates.

Here are some pendants where I've used one texture plate on the front and a different

one on the back, and then using paint, I highlighted it and distressed it so that the textures

would show really well.

I've got another pendant here with a little flower on the front side and a circular design

on the back.

Here's another one with a larger flower and some tinier flowers, this one here is one

where I didn't press the texture in quite as deep, and so it's a little harder to see

the pattern on and I'll talk about that in a minute.

Now this clay is an interesting clay

Buttefly Wing Cane Polymer Clay Tutorial (Intro Vol-026-1) - Duration: 1:32.

Hi guys its Cindy Lietz, your Polymer Clay Tutor, and in today's video, I'm going to

show you how to make a Butterfly Wing Cane, and this is a beautiful wing based on the

Blue Morpho Butterfly.

And there are lots and lots uses for a cane like this, so I've got a bunch of examples

here.

I have a pair of earrings where I've used the slices of the cane and then covered them

with UV Resin.

I've also got another pair of earrings where I've rolled up a slice, and given it sort

of a flower-like look to it.

I've also got slices here where I've made pendants, here's a smaller one and a much

larger one.

I also have a pendant where I have combined the cane to give it a look of a wing of a

Butterfly, and give it a little body so it looks like it's flying off on its own.

And then I've also made a bead where I've taken the slice and wrapped it around a core

of scrap clay, and then made a bead for this dangle on this dangle bangle.

So there's lots of uses you can see for the cane.

Now the colors that we'll be using are

Polymer Clay Bead Caps Tutorial (Intro Vol-028 2) - Duration: 1:48.

Hi guys, its Cindy Lietz your Polymer Clay Tutor, and in today's video I'm gonna show

you how to make Polymer Clay Bead Caps.

And when you're making jewelry with your Polymer Clay Beads, you tend to use a lot of different

findings and things and that includes bead caps, and if you can make them yourself, that

is a fun thing to do.

So I've got a bunch of different examples here that I can show you.

You can make the bead caps in simple round shapes like this.

Or ones that are more leaf shaped like this here.

Or you can do a little flower caps or little textured circles, all kinds of different things.

I used metallic clays here, or you can use solid color, opaque clays, like I did with

these ones, so you have lots and lots of different options.

I'll show you a few examples of how I used the bead caps.

Here is a Copper kind of a leaf shaped cap here that has no texture on it, and it's quite

pretty, it works quite nicely on the small bead or any other sized bead that you like.

I have textured round caps on this one, and it works quite well on a large bead, but it

also fits on a smaller bead like this one here, and so there's quite a range in sizes

that will work with this particular shape of bead cap.

And then you don't have to use round beads with bead caps either.

Here's a tube bead here that has some flower caps on the end, so you have lots and lots

of different options.

Now the clay that we're gonna used

Pod Beads Polymer Clay Tutorial (Intro Vol-030-3) - Duration: 2:27.

Hi guys its Cindy Lietz, your Polymer Clay Tutor, and in today's video I'm gonna show

you how to make Pod Beads.

And Pod Beads can be done in a variety of different ways and styles, and I'm gonna put

my own little spin on it, but the traditional way to do a Pod Bead is a Leaf Pod Bead, like

much this one here.

And this particular style of bead was made famous by the Polymer Clay Artist Karen Lewis

who's also known as Klew.

You've probably seen this style of Pod Bead out there before, but some of the ones I'm

gonna show you today are slightly different.

I've done these beads with a variety of different canes other than the leaf bead.

Here's one with a bit of a frilly almost pine cone kind of look, and it was done using the

butterfly cane… the butterfly wing cane that we did a while back.

Here's one here it's in a similar sort of chunky style with a Purple Feather cane.

Here are some longer and thinner pod style beads, and this one was done with a feather

cane, and this one was as well.

And you can see the feather cane in the Green looks a lot like a leaf, and this almost has

a bit of a flower bud shape to it.

Here's a similar long one with some leaf canes at the top, and it was done with the feather

cane here.

And then here's sort of a funky version that has more of a modern look to it, and this

one was done using the Mitered Corner cane.

And to me it almost looks like little handkerchiefs folded on the corners.

And then here are a pair of earrings here that I've done using the Glow in the Dark

Jellyroll Cane.

And to me, these almost have the look of little Fuchsia buds only with sort of a modern twist

to them with the stripes and the glowing colors.

So I think you're really gonna enjoy the possibilities with this technique.

Now all you need to have is
