Waching daily Apr 4 2017

We all knew that kid in grade school who

the teacher said had so much potential

and what that meant is that they could

be something great someday if they

applied themselves, but at that point in

time they weren't necessarily acting

that way. That's actually a lot like

voltage. Stick around and find out why!

Hi I'm Daniel Bogdanoff. Welcome to the

2-Minute Guru. Today we're going to talk

about voltage. Voltage is simply the

difference in electrical potential

energy between two points. A quick

clarification - electric potential energy

has to do with particles themselves, like

electrons and ions. It's measured in

Joules whereas electrical potential is

measured in Joules/Coulomb and it

has to do with the electric field itself.

The charge of the particles themselves is

measured in Coulombs, so if you take the

electrical potential energy and divide

it by the charge of the particle itself,

all you're left with is that energy in

space- the electrical potential. And Volts

are measured in Joules/Coulomb.

So all this to say that all voltage

measurements and values are simply a

difference in electric potential between

two points in space. So when I say that

this is a 9 volt battery, what that

means is that there's 9 volts of

electric potential between the two

terminals. The analogy I like to use for

voltage is gravity, or more specifically,

physical potential energy. Think back to

Physics I. If I pick up this ball, it

now has potential energy with respect to

the ground or whatever I choose to

compare to. Let's say I'm going to

compare the potential energy between

these two balls. I'll name this one

"positive" because I can and this one

"ground." And I've given it a nifty little

ground symbol here. Right now there's no

difference in potential energy but as

soon as I pick up one of these balls,

there's now a difference in potential

energy with respect to each other. When

it comes to electricity, instead of

height, we have electrical potential

energy levels. Typically we measure with

respect to ground which we consider to

be zero volts. Whether or not that's

actually true is another discussion.

Ground (or zero volts) used to be, and

sometimes still is, a metal rod hammered

into the ground, but if you take a

spaceship, for example, they still have a

zero volt ground reference even though

by definition a spaceship cannot have a

metal rod pounded into the ground. Also

notice that unlike current,

no movement is required for there to be

a voltage. This ball could fall because

there's a constant pull from gravity, but

my hand is blocking the path. As soon as

there's a path, the ball is going to fall

and there's current. Take this 9-volt

battery for example. Even though there's

no current path flowing I'm still

measuring over 9 volts between the two

terminals on the battery with my oscilloscope, and that's

because I'm using the oscilloscope to compare

the negative terminal to the positive terminal. And I

expect that to be 9 volts since it's,

well, a 9-volt battery. That's all we have

time for today. Thanks for watching! If

I've never differenciated myself as a person or as an artist

I just put them together

because I want people to understand that an artist is still a person.

We face a similar struggle in life.

To be able to show them that

we walk the same path

that to me is very important.

I've been drawing digitally for the past 20 years.

Art has become so important to me.

It is who I am.

It's no longer work to me.

On my weekdays when I'm still in the studio, those are my weekends.

Being able to

bring something that I have in mind, into life

through a piece of art

to me that is magical.

I've always believed that art is a community.

It's not a competition.

I feel that every year, I learn something new.

When I teach my students,

through the journey of how they struggle and improve.

Somehow, help me to improve as well.

It's not just about improving my art

but improving the way I deliver the message

of the knowledge to them, so that they can grow faster.

I think it's become a very important part of my life

to be able to impart something.

My technique, or my mindset,

my mentality, in art.

I feel that

being able to impart my knowledge to the next generation

to see them grow

It's very rewarding.

My name is Stanley "Artgerm" Lau,

I'm a digital artist,

a digital illustrator,

and I always believe that art is a lifestyle.

How to Make a Successful Youtube Channel - Duration: 7:38.

Hey everyone it is Amanda Contreras

and this is the channel where he turn

your passion into a profit in today's

video you are actually going to learn

all the secrets from all the fantastic

youtubers on youtube right now that are

crushing it so we're going to dive right

into how to make your YouTube channel

extremely successful tip number one

content content content content is key

you hear everybody talking today about

content and you really have to go into

what makes your YouTube channel special

so whether you are a beauty and makeup

tutorial whether you're a how to channel

whether you are just questioning and

answering whether you are product reviews or

you're a business channel or you're a

real estate agent whatever it is that

you have to do you need to find content

for your channel you just need to be

good at whatever it is that you do to

dominate your face that's it just make

sure that your content is relevant to

your channel and please please please

make it entertaining make it special

make it give values in something where

your customers and your viewers are

going to keep going back and back over

and over to watch your videos. That is

what's going to take so content is king

remember that content is a great way

number one by all youtubers make sure

you have excellent content tip number to

be consistent every channel that I

looked up said be consistent in how you

post and when you post on what time you

post so if you post daily if you post

weekly monthly whatever it is is being

consistent if you want your fans to be

loyal viewers to you and your account

you have to be loyal to them you need to

show up when you say you're going to

show up so that your fans can be there

to watch you that is the number two key

is be consistent step number three is

definitely stay within your niche so if

you choose to do beauty and makeup

tutorials make sure you stick to

anything related to beauty hair

tutorials things that make you look good

skin care you can probably go into a

little bit of clothing but

stay more towards beauty you guys have a

cooking channel make sure that you are

staying around cooking please don't you

know decide to put a video of your cat

in there you want to make sure that you

stick to cooking so whether that giving

recipes showing how to cook the steak

and not burning it whether it's trying

to figure out what kind of pop and pans

views or maybe it's just a simple you

know get ready strategy in the morning

of simple breakfast tip make sure when

you guys see your videos that you stay

within your niche so that people know

what they're going to see when they come

to you senator for be a fan to get then

you guys have to be boiled you have to

be engaging if you wouldn't want your

channel to grow immensely then what you

guys have to do is make sure that you go

to the people they're already in your

space and comments and engage the people

that are already leaving comments you

guys want to make sure that you are

being known as an authority figure on

your space so what you better have to do

should do again this is all what the

talking to per se so please if I were

you I pay attention to this what I'm

going to be doing make sure that

anybody's go into people into the

channel that other your other youtubers

have and this comment will say what a

great video something super nice but it

really be genuine don't just say hey I

like to fit views with thumbs up you

know make sure that you guys are really

being genuine and you guys are really

being authentic and if there's a comment

down there that maybe you can give value

to definitely give them what you don't

want to do is they say like my video is

over here or hey check my video route

but not give any value so the more

authentic and the more engaging you can

be with somebody in the village wheel

that's what you want to do so if you

guys want loyal and gaming fans and

engage with other people's fans and

other people channels and you know it

can lead you to a collaboration later on

which is definitely the next step step

number five collaborate all the other

youtubers say collab collab kalau now

this is really really great for

entertainment channel or print channels

channel things that you know you can

collaborate with other other youtubers

but at the same time if you are in a

small business based like I am or you're

not renew ER and I'm not a guru at

something that I want to learn or do I

want to have definitely bring somebody

on as special guest of your channel with

the screen and then have that person and

do a collaboration with you in your

video so that your followers can engage

with his followers you know your follow

through follow that person that person

scholarships all you and you guys are

going to collaborating together build a

better brand or just a better following

so you guys all I want to make sure that

you're connecting with people in your

space that can bring value to your

channel and that you can revalue to

their so collaborate collaborate

collaborate it's definitely one of the

top that I've seen it all youtube

channels and if you are just a brand new

starting out channel that's okay because

again you can look for somebody's that

may be no more than you do and you can

have them on as a special guest you're

going to be obviously on their channel

you're going to tag them in the comments

and give us credit and watch a channel

grow things that you don't need to do

whatsoever is vice president there is no

reason why you guys in to break the bank

to be able to deal with our youtube

channel if everyone has insulted you

have a phone a cell phone that's exactly

how you can make a video all you have to

do is these i'm using which comes free

with iphone for androids there's another

program I just know i have an iphone i

use i believe you don't have to use like

all these expenses programs to get

started it's super simple if you have a

phone you have visiting any video

editing software that's okay because

most people when they go and subscribe

your channel they don't want to watch

you they want to hear you so they're not

going to be worried about all the

graphics and all the special effects

that you have they truly truly truly

just want to be a part of you in your

video so don't worry about how fancy you

get you don't need to break the bank

just use your phone that's all you have

and the other thing that you don't have

to do is buy

lighting you do not have to buy

expensive wedding the greatest money in

the world I know especially with all my

facebook lives is natural lighting you

do not have to go and buy all these

expensive lights and worry about who's

going to see or the shadow over here

people on here yes it's great later on

but when you're starting out you do not

need to worry about buying all the

expensive things go out of your bedroom

window your car window your office

window make a video with your cell phone

edit it to your choice and that's it

post that is it so I definitely don't

worry about anything expensive right now

so just a little bonus tip from me if

you guys know a lot of traffic to your

videos if you have facebook if you have

instagram twitter snapchat post your

link on your extra social media and just

start pointing them to your uses

eventually you're going to make enough

noise for people to start watching and

that's okay if you don't have any

followers or any use that's okay the

more you tell people about your videos

the more traffic is going to get so stay

consistent picture niche make sure you

have excellent content so if you guys

are interested in actually seeing my

camera stay tuned to subscribe I'm going

to be closing videos and updates along

the way to make sure that you guys are

totally happy and everything that I'm

hosting making sure that my video is

growing with everything that I say i'm

going to do and hopefully you guys have

some value this again thank you so much

make sure you subscribe my videos how

can i have today i'll see you next time

Neural Lace Promises To Connect Our Brains To The Internet - Duration: 4:02.

Shh, I'm drafting an email about the gif vs jif debate.

Sent,

Our brains are individuals.

Little gelatinous masses...

But Silicon Valley superstars want to create something from science fiction that would

change all that -- a new tech called neural lace.

"Neural lace" was coined by Iain Banks in a long running set of science fiction novels.

In the books, the tech helps brains interact with AI, and with each other.

Back in the real world, tech companies want to give your brain this same upgrade!

No, thank you, I say.

Good day, sir.

Neural lace might sound shiney, but it's just another way of saying, Brain Computer

Interface -- something scientists have experimented with for decades.

This totally took off in the 90s, and by the late 2000s there were more than 100 new, peer-reviewed

papers a year just looking at how to hook up man to machine…

We've hooked up rats to these things with mixed results.

We've made it so paralyzed people could move a cursor or feel sensations.

We've even made the whole thing wireless!

Right now, tbh, BCI's are not awesome.

They suck up information about brain activity… like brainwaves with EEGs, or blood flow with

fMRIs.

They can measure activity with electrodes, but to date no BCI can directly interconnect

and read neurons in the brain.

We just get a general idea of what's going on.

And that's what neural lace is promising.

A direct, hard connection.

Right now, it's sort of like we're watching the brain through binoculars, rather than

going over and just having a chat.

Which makes humanity sound like real creepers.

Neural lace's promise, is that the lace would be injected into the brain, embed itself,

and then live in there, intertwined with your brain cells -- translating your thoughts into

computers, uploading and downloading information from networks and so on.

This could improve memory, and allow us to keep up with AI -- we could even communicate

with each other!

I know, it sounds amazing.

But it doesn't exist, yet.

Not in the way you're thinking.

Yes, Elon Musk, the Lex Luthor slash Tony Stark of our day has teased it.

But we're not there yet.

Here's where we are: A prototype of brain-injectible technology was published in Nature Nanotechnology

in 2015.

After injection, this nanoscopic plastic-and-metal mesh embedded itself in mouse brains.

That's it.

We've invented a plug.

A socket.

A place where we can start to connect a brain to something else.

This seems akin to learning how wires work, and saying we've invented the internet,

computer and the smartphone.

The paper made a splash, because it's the first successful embedding.

Right now, BCI's require invasive brain surgery, massive computers, or are just too

crude to be useful.

This is just an injection.

Which is a huge win!

But…

Being able to add an interface right into the brain is a step down the path to The Singularity

-- when man and machine become one… but it's just ah- step.

Think about it… what's the lace going to run on?

glucose from the brain?

It would need to be more efficient than the brain itself.

It would need to communicate out of the head reliably, and would need to not cause the

immune system to reject it, or adapt if cells moved or died nearby.

Right now, it's being seen as a way to deliver drugs or therapy for Parkinson's, diagnose

head injuries or treat cancers, at the moment it's still fairly science fictional.

But the promise of being completely interconnected is pretty incredible!

So count on hearing about it, a lot, in the coming years.

I mean, we're basically cyborgs already… using phones and computers to augment our

brains, so why not just plug them right in?

Look, we're doing all this to better integrate man and machine so we can compete with AI,

right?

Well, we might be out of luck because robots can sense emotions via radio waves.

We're screwed.

Check out this video, here for more info.

And let us know down in the comments if you are worried about AI, cause some of you probably

are, and please subscribe for more Seeker.

Why Michael Cera Doesn't Get Many Movie Offers Anymore - Duration: 5:50.

Thanks to his role in the cult television series Arrested Development and his back-to-back

box office smashes Superbad and Juno, Michael Cera was on top of the world in the mid-aughts.

But despite that early string of hits and obvious comedy talents, Cera hasn't been nearly

as visible as he should be.

Why has Hollywood dialed back on his celebrity status lately?

Here's why you don't see Michael Cera onscreen as much anymore…and how he might still come

running back.

Um.

Maybe.

Typecast

Michael Cera's early performances tended to blend together.

From his stunted, awkward speech patterns to his sweaty, dishwater disposition, most

of his characters come across precisely the same way.

Consider how George-Michael Bluth fumbles whenever his "cousin" Maeby is in the room

in Arrested Development, and then compare that to his characters in Juno and Superbad.

They're pretty much the same guy — as though Michael Cera signed up for one long, drawn-out

character study about a guy who knocks up a girl and tries to be cool in high school

while avoiding his really weird family.

"Hey Guy,"

"Yes sir?"

"How many mice will $13 buy?"

"Four."

While Cera has since tried to shrug off his good-guy apron with roles in movies like This

This Is the End and Crystal Fairy & the Magical Cactus, he's still mostly known as that awkward

and self-deprecating weirdo who sometimes gets the girl and under-reacts to everything.

Feature flops

Superbad and Juno earned Cera top billing in a series of films for a few years, but

his signature goofy screen antics didn't hold up as well as producers probably hoped in

his later movies.

First, there was Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist, a middling success at best.

After that, his Jack Black co-starring caveman comedy, Year One, tanked with reviewers and

audiences alike Meanwhile, just about nobody's ever even heard of Paper Heart, and Youth

in Revolt barely made back its production budget.

Perhaps the biggest blow to Cera's box-office potential was his title turn in Edgar Wright's

adaptation of Scott Pilgrim vs. the World.

It was a beloved, high-profile film that was expensive to make, but impressed critics and

fans with its visual style, not to mention a cameo by a young Captain America.

Despite all that, Scott Pilgrim simply failed to draw an audience outside a small group

of hardcore devotees.

Even vegan powers couldn't defuse that bomb.

Not fame-hungry

As cutthroat as the film business tends to be, Cera has openly declared that fame is

not his endgame.

In a 2008 interview with The New York Times, Cera stated,

"I don't really want to be famous, and I'm kind of scared that might be happening.

I might really have to stop and think before I make decisions now … I guess I need to

make sure that it's worth all that comes with it."

With that kind of outlook, it's not exactly surprising that his star power has dipped

in recent years.

If Hollywood's all about schmoozing, Cera seems content to sit on the sidelines and

watch the action from a distance.

Private life

Michael Cera's Scott Pilgrim co-star Aubrey Plaza dropped a bombshell in 2016 when she

revealed that she and Cera had been in a serious relationship and were once close to getting

married.

She told RuPaul's podcast that the pair dated for a year and a half:

"He's a very special — I mean, we love each other.

We're still really good friends.

He's just a weird little freak and we speak the same language."

So even though you don't see this "weird little freak" in any headlines, it sounds like he's

got a busy private life with a lot going on beneath the scrutiny of the tabloid press.

Heard and not seen

Long before he became a household name, Cera steadily booked voiceover work with recurring

roles in children's shows like Rollie Pollie Olie and Braceface, so the fact that he's

since returned to that arena isn't a surprise.

In addition to voicing one of the leads in the raunchy animated hit Sausage Party, he

also contributed his talents to The Lego Batman Movie as Robin, opposite his Arrested Development

uncle Will Arnett.

He also voiced a character in a cartoon comedy called Blazing Samurai.

This kind of work might keep the lights on, but it's hardly likely to showcase his full

range of acting talent — since, you know, he's not actually on-screen.

Side projects

As a sideline to acting, Michael Cera spends a lot of time playing music.

He previously performed as one of the frontmen in an acoustic band called The Long Goodbye

and provided some musical accompaniment to Weezer's 2010 album Hurley before releasing

his own album in 2014.

The following year, he teamed up with the Unicorns' Alden Penner for an EP titled Canada

in Space, which the two promoted with a tour of the U.K.

It sounds like singing and acting are two sides of the same coin for Cera, because in

2014, he made his Broadway debut in Kenneth Lonergan's This Is Our Youth, and he also

launched a comedic YouTube channel with fellow comics Sarah Silverman, Reggie Watts, and

Tim & Eric, though, that endeavor has since petered out.

Still time for a turnaround

When it comes to Hollywood, it's never too late to make a comeback, and Cera's still

well-liked and well-known enough to get back into the spotlight if he wants to.

He has a solid list of upcoming projects, and he's thrown his hat in the indie ring

as well by appearing in festival-friendly releases like Lemon and Person to Person to

try and move away from his comfort zone.

He'll also appear in the much-anticipated revival of Twin Peaks, and there's always

the prospect of a fifth season of Arrested Development.

It'd be a poetic case of coming full circle if the series that made him famous sparked

a comeback, but if all else fails and all these projects go bust, Cera still doesn't

need to worry about paying the bills.

After all, there's always money in the banana stand.

"How much clearer can I say, 'There's always money IN THE BANANA STAND!'"

"No Touching!"

"No Touching!"

"No Touching!"

"No Touching!"
