Octopus DNA is Not of This World, Numerous Researchers Conclude - Duration: 4:55.

Octopus DNA is Not of This World, Numerous Researchers Conclude

After completely sequencing its genome, scientists reached an unexpected conclusion that

octopuses are entirely distinct from any other animals on Earth.

The results yielded astounding numbers over 33.000 protein-coding genes were identified.

Thats more than what human beings possess.

(scientists cant agree on either 14 or 25,000 genes)

Dr. Clifton Ragsdale, researcher at the University of Chicago offered extra details about the

significance of this find.

According to him, the octopus appears to be utterly different from all other animals,

even other molluscs, with its eight prehensile arms, its large brain and its clever problem-solving

abilities.

With 168 neuron-development regulating genes, almost twice the number found in any mammal,

and a neural grid consisting of 1/2 billion neurons scattered from head to the prehensile

arms, the octopus can easily outperform most marine creatures.

Their curious nervous system is ramified into their elongated arms, and if one gets dismembered,

the octopus is still able to use its cognitive abilities, as if it had an individual nervous

system in each of its arms.

Octopus DNA left scientists with a feeling that it was highly rearranged, similar to

a shuffled deck of cards.

This conclusion was based on the fact that octopus genetic code was discovered to

be comprised of a number of transposons, or jumping genes, that leaped across the

genome changing its structure.

With a few notable exceptions, the octopus basically has a typical invertebrate genome

thats just been completely rearranged, like its been put in a blender and mixed,

said Caroline Albertin, once of the marine biologists at the University of Chicago.

This leads to genes being placed in new genomic environments with different regulatory

elements, and was an entirely unexpected find.

Another interesting feature of this aquatic wonder is its ability to perfectly blend

in with ithe surroundings.

This chameleonic behavior is triggered by six protein genes named reflectins which

impacts the way light reflects off the octopus skin, thus turning it into assorted patterns

and textures that camouflage the octopus.

Part of the coleoid sub-class of the molluscs are the octopus, cuttlefish and squid.

These creatures evolved over a period of over 500 million years, and are known to inhabit

almost every body of water at nearly any depth.

Their adaptability consists in extremely flexible and fluid bodies, an insane visual system

which allows them to perceive colors although theyre technically colorblind, and of course

their camouflage native technique.

Octopuses received the alien label ever since late British zoologist Martin Wells

had studied them, but Charles Mudede warns not to interpret alienness as a matter

of DNA, but instead as a matter of diversity.

But, no matter how crazy an animals DNA might appear, it is probably from this planet

if its cells contain the energy-generating organelles called mitochondria, Mudede

wrote.

With all this out of this world evidence at hand, its hard not to see the otherworldly

traits of octopuses, especially their ability to redesign their DNA for a flawless life

experience and extreme survivability.

Could this be just a complex and misunderstood evolutionary process?

Or were these tentacled invertebrates brought to Earth from another place in the universe,

by some unknown civilization that we can only speculate of?

Whatever the case, its sure interesting to picture these unusual beings as the ancient

companions of an aquatic alien species from a remote past.

We cannot safely assume this was the case, but at the same time its hard to deny the

alien implications

in this story.

Alien Life and Intelligence Exists Beyond Our Solar System in Forms We Can't Conceive An Interview W - Duration: 4:05.

Alien Life and Intelligence Exists Beyond Our Solar System in Forms We Cant Conceive

An Interview With Britain's Top Astronomer WATCH Today's Galaxy Stream

"Aliens could exist in forms we can't conceive," says Martin Rees is Emeritus Professor of

Cosmology and Astrophysics, at the University of Cambridge, the Astronomer Royal, a member

of Britains House of Lords, and a former President of the Royal Society.

"They could be staring us in the face and we just dont recognize them.

The problem is that were looking for something very much like us, assuming that they at least

have something like the same mathematics and technology."

I suspect there could be life and intelligence out there in forms we cant conceive.

Just as a chimpanzee cant understand quantum theory, it could be there as aspects of reality

that are beyond the capacity of our brains.

An in-depth interview with Rees was conducted at Trinity College, Cambridge, by The Conversations

Matt Warren that covered a wide range of subjects including, the size of the universe and the

probability of machine intelligence.

The following is his reply to existence of advanced alien life in the cosmos.

We know now that planets exist around many, even most, stars.

We know that in our Milky Way galaxy there are likely millions of planets that are in

many ways like the Earth, with liquid water.

The question then is whether life has developed on them and we cant yet answer that.

Although we know how via Darwinian selection a complex biosphere evolved on Earth around

4 billion years ago, we dont yet understand the actual origin of life the transition

from complex chemistry to the first metabolizing, replicating structures.

The good news is that we will have a better idea of how that happened within the next

ten or 20 years and crucially, how likely it was to happen.

This will give us a better understanding of how likely it is to happen elsewhere.

In that time, we will also have technologies that will allow us to better search for alien

life.

But just because theres life elsewhere doesnt mean that there is intelligent life.

My guess is that if we do detect an alien intelligence, it will be nothing like us.

It will be some sort of electronic entity.

If we look at our history on Earth, it has taken about 4 billion years to get from the

first protozoa to our current, technological civilisation.

But if we look into the future, then its quite likely that within a few centuries,

machines will have taken over and they will then have billions of years ahead of

them.

In other words, the period of time occupied by organic intelligence is just a thin sliver

between early life and the long era of the machines.

Because such civilisations would develop at different rates, its extremely unlikely

that we will find intelligent life at the same stage of development as us.

More likely, that life will still be either far simpler, or an already fully electronic

intelligence.

Skipping Mountain - Duration: 11:50.

The first entries of little pikes

have started around 2008

Small pikes of 6 cm length

They began pike policy... Because of

the lake that it was always well populated by trouts

He was about to be invaded by the white fish

the idea was to put pikes

pikes rebalance the lake

and then you could fish the pike that trouts

Today we are skipping, guys!

There are plants that touch the water

There are our lures, our shads

and cast them under

and let's take some big pike

in this lake people say there are!

Now with shad such as this

we must take a long pike as the fishing rod

because here there are

therefore, with this bait you have to take a long fish as the fishing rod!

Because we saw them!

We moved many pike

For Skippinig, Need to throw bait jumping on the water

us we have selected very carefully

and this is one of those that we used

It has a head 60 grams

so not easy to cast

because it tends to sink in the water when impacts on water

but perfect for walking long distances

and excellent after launch, because it sinks in a very attractive swimming

It seems to fish a virgin lake

It seems to fish on pike ever caught for how they behave

we see in that hole!

Pike fishing in this lake is also special because...

It takes place mainly during the summer months

the best month in my opinion is July

Also in August they take several pike

then in the warm months

when the other lakes it is hard

and pike moving in depth

here in July and August are two exceptional months

The day started well

the first cast, long skip

the bait jumps on the water and as soon as it stops

Baam!!! Once the first fish, not great but well!

We started very well

behold!

when you start so well

always brings so much bad luck!

because from then on we have lost so many fish and so big

is never convenient catch the fish on the first cast

This is big Matteo!

Look at that big

This is a beautiful pike

I got it!

amazing!

stops the trolling motor

It 's very big, Matte

it's so fat

Come here baby!

Come here love

I got it! Matte!

I got it!

Yes!

I do not rejoice because I am very moved

Let us embrace!

Wait, Wait!

Well Done, Dany!

Good dany is fat!

it is fat

This is not a pike, it's a great pike

is a pike over meters

It is fat

Remove the hooks

I swear that I attacked the bait a small pike before

I remove the hook

it' so fat!

fat is fat

After half a day to pass to cast breaking wrist

and you lose the first fish

and see to lose another fish to your fishing partner

lose another fish

finally comes the monster over meter, and what a beautiful fish!

Amazing pike this one!

Great Fish!

Haaaaa!

that looks back that he

It has an impressive back

impressive

Wonderful!

that big an fat fish

It's Geat!

it is impressive, look!

Look how beautiful it is, Wow!

expects the oxygenate well

Giant back, giant back!

climatic conditions are changing, the sky is clouding

and the wind is lifted, that has rippled water!

these are the perfect conditions to catch a big fish!

The merit of all this is to those who manage the basin 4

and he has realized the importance of certain fish

as the grayling in the river, and the pike in the lake

decide to make no-kill pike in the lake

is a decision, intelligent, wise that requires effort

because unfortunately not all the locals understand the importance of such a choice

Surely spinning is a very charming technique

but at the same time very difficult to do it takes a lot of technique

when skipping bass fishing

generally they are used to read out, from 10 to 20 grams maximum

and fishing rods from 3/4 Oz. to 1 ounce

This time we decided to get away from 100 grams bait

and to do this we had to use a suitable tackle

We used a 7 " fishing rod that cast 4 ounces, combined with a casting reel size 300

and a braid from 100 pounds

This is the only solution to skip a bait so heavy

We are casting insistently as two samurai with their swords

Matteo is that right throw the bait in all holes!

I from left side

and at some point something happens!

Oh my God!

It's a Monster!

Mother monster!

Mother monster!

Take it good matte take it well!

Oh my God!

Another giant!

That fish guys!

Holy shit!

Pick him up!

I do not know whether to laugh or cry!

It weighs a lot!

where is pliers?

I finally managed to catch a big fish after having lost so many during the morning

Now it was because we wanted

in the middle of the wind, strong wind rippled water

I felt a tremendous stop and I knew it was not a small fish But longer than a meter fish

and actually it was a beast!

It's a monster!

It's a monster!

That great day!

we leave

beyond belief

a powerful attack, an incredible fish!

impressive!

it weighs as much

Look at that head which has a wonder!

Look, Yes!

Another giant!

look what fish!

that fantastic fish!

big fish!

He wants to go, and you send him to his house!

expects the oxygen well!

Good!

that super fish!

that super fish!

Guys have got some fantastic fish, well done!

Good, good, good!

It is because of you angel!!!

Thanks Angelo!

hey guys subscribe to our channel hit on

a bell notification so you don't miss

any video from the text and so guys

finally we have samsung galaxy S8 but

i think not everyone can afford to buy

it but still most of you guys dream

about those cool features like flat

icons round corners and many more in

your smartphones it looks really great

but today in this video i am going to

show you that how you can completely

transform your boring android UI to a

samsung galaxy S8 but the best

part i like about this method that it

does not require any type of root access

and works absolutely great simply

install all of these five application in

your smartphone but after fully

watching this video will end guys keep

one thing in mind that you only have to

download all these five application from

the links given in the description box

and also you can turn this video caption

by hitting on the three dots in the top

right corner of your screen for the

subtitles so if you are excited then

stay tuned to the tech stand and let's

get started so let's start with

installing nova launcher make sure your

Unknown sources are enables after

installing the app make it as a

default launcher now for the s8 look you

have to do some manual tweaks so just go

to nova settings then desktop and tap on

icon and layout and change the Icon layouts

to 125 percent now again go to the app

Android settings open icon and layout

and change into one twenty-five percent

once that is done go back and disable

this swype indicator as there is no

swype indicator in s8 last thing you

have to do is to make that one hundred

percent transparent

now again go back with a dock and said I

currently out to hundreds % and again

set background transparency two hundred

percent now if you go back then you will

see some changes on your home screen now

let us change the icons and for that you

have to install this as it I can back

from the link given in the description

box basically this icon pack is nearly

identical to the original slaggy y of s

aid after installing it add-ons to know

our settings and open this option core

look and feel at the top hit on this

option and you will have your SK type

and pack now select it go back and you

will see your complete change in the

icons but guys still you have to do some

cages like in s8 a dork icons are

different so first put the dock icons in

the right orders but make sure you

remove all the other pre-install icons

and the widgets from the home screen the

first step is dialer second one is

messages third one is browsers fourth

one is place tools and the fifth one is

camera

now let us put some f8 widgets and for

that you have to install zooper widget

and tried it app and as I said all the

links are in the description box once

that is done go to DVD 8 and select four

by one drag it to the home screen now it

on DVD 8 tap onto iTunes and select your

search widget also you can set your tap

action now again go to the bjs and

select to body ratio widget and drag it

to the home screen now again go to the

Trident and select us8 by the widget and

also you can select your task action but

still something is missing and that is

grounded for that edges so for that just

install this app called coordinate slide

so obtained solutions can be open the

app unable it from the accessibility and

go to the main screen and now you can

adduce your corner by sliding this

option guys all the apps which I'm using

in this tutorial are paid but if you

guys want to download them for free then

make sure you download only for my given

link in the description box for more

crunch you can also add acid wallpapers

and you will have perfectly you were

exactly like as eight so guys that's it

for this video make sure you smash that

subscribe button and also hit the play

notification so you don't miss any video

from the decks and and also liked this

video because that will really

encouraged me to make awesome content

for you guys till then stay with my

channel and I will see you in my

upcoming video

Your Chances Of Being Killed in Police Custody Are Pathetically Startling - Duration: 3:01.

Over the last three years there's been a spike in the number of people being killed

by police officers, both in the field and in police custody.

This growing crisis gave birth to the Black Lives Matter movement, but the problem goes

even deeper than most people realize.

Americans are now all too familiar with names like Michael Brown and Eric Garner, as well

as Sandra Bland and Freddie Gray.

Those names have become synonymous with the abuse that takes place against citizens by

police officers.

There are some very important differences in these cases.

The main difference being that Bland and Gray were killed by officers after being taken

into custody, and that's the part of the story of police brutality that most people

don't know about.

In the six year period between 2003 and 2009, an estimated 3,000 arrest-related homicides

of African-Americans occurred in the United States, and 99% of those were committed by

police officers.

However, the Justice Department has told us that the number of people of all races killed

while in police custody is likely higher, but they don't know because the reporting

of those homicides is left to the police and jail personnel, and under-reporting, or mislabeling

homicides, is common practice in the US.

One of the more serious recent cases involves Matthew Ojibade, a 22-year-old bipolar college

student in Georgia, who was tased while in a restraining chair in 2015, and he died still

strapped to the chair.

The disturbing video from a camera attached to the taser itself shows the victim in the

restraining chair.

You can see where the red dot is, which is the light from the taser, pointed at his torso

and his groin.

It's important to understand that other Western countries don't have a problem this

serious.

In the year 2014, police officers in the United Kingdom only killed one person in that same

year.

Canadian authorities killed 14, and German police officers didn't kill a single person

in 2014.

The problem is only getting worse as American police officers continue to operate with a

Wild West mentality, partly because they only receive about a quarter of the training that

officers other countries receive.
