Looking for a Win - Duration: 3:25.

A few summers ago I attended the PGA Championship golf tournament

and I had one goal--

to see Tiger Woods up close.

And I finally got my chance on the 16 hole.

I lined up along the rope, about 250 yards down the fairway,

and Tiger Woods was teeing off in the, in the tee box.

And he sent a towering drive that we all lost in the sun.

But everyone started shouting that it was coming near us.

We couldn't see where it was coming, but we all did the same thing.

We ducked.

And the ball ended up going right past my head

and down and drilling the guy behind me in the achilles.

But it worked out well for me because the ball bounced off his achilles

and stopped about five feet in front of me.

And so that's where Tiger Woods took his next shot . . .

five feet in front of me.

And I left the day feeling pretty satisfied because

I was hoping to see Tiger Woods and I did.

As far as the guy behind me, I don't know what he was looking for that day,

but I'm guessing it wasn't a bruised achilles.

Do you know how that feels?

Not to get a bruised achilles, but

to look for something good only to end up disappointed?

Tiger Woods has been looking for a win in a golf tournament

for almost 10 years now,

but so far it hasn't happened.

And maybe, maybe you're kind of looking for a win too.

You're looking for a winning day in your marriage.

You're looking for a winning faith.

You're looking for a winning job.

You're looking for a winning salary.

You're looking for a winning something,

but at the end of most days do you find yourself feeling more satisfied or disappointed?

You know, in the bread of life chapter in John chapter 6,

Jesus says that we will find lasting satisfaction

when we feast on the bread of life.

He says that we can only find the bread of life

when we first come to the Father.

And he says we can only find the Father when we first come to the Son.

And then he says something really, really interesting.

In verse 44, in chapter 6, he says this. He says,

In other words, Jesus doesn't think you have the ability to come to him.

But before you get upset about that, just think about what that means.

It means that Jesus thinks you don't need to be strong enough,

you don't need to be smart enough,

you don't need to be secure enough in your faith

in order to come to Jesus.

In other words, Jesus believes that you can be kind of weak,

kind of dumb,

kind of insecure in all the most important categories of life

and you can still find the greatest things that God could ever give,

in the same way that I was able to leave that golf tournament feeling satisfied.

Because somebody else's pain

made that happen.

Except it wasn't a bruised achilles.

It was a whip,

and some thorns,

and some nails,

and some blood

that caused the pain that Jesus went through

so that you could live with the assurance

that there is nothing in all creation

that is going to stop you from one day getting to the one place

where there is no more death, or crying, or pain,

and where every last tear

is finally wiped away.

You might have a lot of questions about how to find satisfaction

as you go through any number of situations in life.

We have a book that might be really helpful.

Pastor Mark Jeske has recently written a book called, "More Straight Talk,"

a book that contains more than 150 questions and answers,

straight from God's Word.

If you click on the link below and give us a one-time donation,

we will send you this book for free.

And if you make your donation a monthly reoccurring gift,

then Pastor Jeske will sign the book that we send to you.

Thank you, God bless, and we'll see you tomorrow.

Boarder Taemin's Dongdaemoon date with Dahae [Guesthouse Daughters / 2017.04.04] - Duration: 16:08.

Since we're here, let's pretend to be stars.

What do you think?

Usually, celebrities wear a hat like this.

To hide their faces.

But I want to look pretty,

so I usually make my face more visible.

What do you think?

You look very pretty.

Here.

This isn't going to work.

(Coordinator Dahey can see reality quickly)

Since we're here, let's take a picture together.

Alri...

(Awkward)

Wait.

(Awkward moment of taking a selfie)

This way?

Come here. This doesn't look like Dongdaemun.

(Dahey is the only one visible)

(Moving backwards)

Come here.

We have to take a picture together.

Why are you avoiding being close to me?

Let's take a picture together.

The timer is set for three seconds.

(Do we look close?)

(His hands are still together)

Alright. I'll accept it.

I'll accept it. You can leave your hands that way.

When is your interview?

In May?

May? Then it's spring, so we don't need sweaters.

Let's go with a nice shirt and a jacket. To look sharp.

Let's go here.

(Let's see)

(Awkward)

I want something less ordinary.

We can't go with gray.

(She chooses a navy interview jacket to look young)

This tie doesn't suit you.

You must be confident to pass the interview.

It's cute, right?

You look better than Kim Soohyun.

See? You two look alike.

The look is coming together.

Let me get your size for the shirt.

Good luck, Taemin.

- Taemin. / - Yes?

Are you doing okay?

Yes.

Do you need me to come in there with you?

(Where do you think you're trying to enter?)

You're not lonely in there, are you?

I'm fine.

(A few minutes later)

Oh!

(Tall and handsome)

(Looking handsome)

This is it, Taemin.

I don't know how to tie this.

I'm doing this for the first time.

I can't believe I'm tying a tie for someone.

Did I do this right?

Yes.

(Embarrassed / Awkward)

There.

Look at you! (Suave)

You're dashing.

You look so handsome.

So clean-looking. (Satisfied)

You look great.

(From a common guesthouse boy to a new employee!)

(Siyeon and Yerim are here to buy a dressing table)

Look at this store.

Let's take a look. (They look at furniture stores)

(She doesn't seem to like anything there)

Not this. (I have to buy her a pretty one)

There's one over there, too.

Over there?

- Shall we go? / - Yes, let's go.

- Hello. / - Hello.

This is a dressing table, but it's too big, right?

Yes, I think so.

Then...

(Prudent)

What about this?

Is it too high?

- Isn't this a perfect height? / - Is it?

How much is this?

That? $120.

- $120? / - Yes.

Do you have more low dressing tables?

Something low and small like that?

That's the only one.

(It's not too bad)

$120? Can you give us a discount?

That's not up to me.

Really? Ma'am.

Can you give us a discount, please? (Cute)

I'll give it to you for $100.

Really? Awesome.

Is it okay? Do you like it?

- I like it. / - Let's take it.

We'll take it.

Do we have to take it with us?

You can take it in your car.

We don't have a car.

Where do you live? We can deliver.

Really? Should we get it delivered?

Yes, that'd be better.

Thank you.

(Siyeon & Yerim are done buying the special gift)

I'm so tired. Oh my.

You're tired?

What is this? (Who knew painting would be this hard?)

Pretend that we're doing art in Italy.

- Doing what? / - Art.

Art? (She turns painting into art)

I'm expressing my feelings.

Don't do it if you're too tired.

That's not right.

(Misookangelo of Hongje-dong)

This is tough!

It is really tough.

This isn't easy. (Losing the psychological battle)

That's why people drink rice wine while they work.

Is there rice wine?

Let's go buy some. Minseok.

Yes?

Go buy two bottles of rice wine.

Shouldn't we have some rice wine?

We can't do this sober.

- Rice wine? / - You worked quite fast.

Was her name Andrea?

- Where is she? / - Where did she go?

Maybe she's pretending she doesn't understand us.

She wants to learn Korean? We'll teach her.

Narae, call her. She feels too awkward to come out.

Andrea. Andrea. Come over here.

I'll teach you Korean. Come here.

In Korean, paint as quickly as you can. Come.

(Using her labor using Korean as bait)

- You alright? / - Yes.

Do you know how you express

working this hard in Korean?

- Working like a dog. / - Working like a dog.

When auntie comes, tell her you worked like a dog.

I worked like a dog today.

You get to learn Korean while you work. How nice.

What were you planning to do today?

- Today? / - Yes.

I was going to meet my boyfriend.

- You were? / - Yes.

Oh no. You couldn't go on a date because of us?

He's at home alone.

- Really? / - Yes.

I'm sorry. What does your boyfriend do?

Dad's... Company?

- Company. / - Company? Yes.

They work together.

- Wow! The son of a business tycoon? / - Yes.

They make chairs, tables...

Furniture, bags, everything. (Like them?)

- They make them? / - Yes.

- Wow. A son of a business tycoon? / - Yes.

Who's the son of a business tycoon?

Her boyfriend.

Tell him to bring some expensive liquor.

Let's not drink rice wine.

Her boyfriend works at his dad's company.

Really?

- It's a furniture manufacturing company. / - In Korea?

- In Hong Kong. / - Oh, Hong Kong.

Hong Kong?

I brought rice wine.

You did? Good job.

Go cut up some kimchi for us.

We can't drink on an empty stomach. We need food.

That's hilarious.

It's better than painting.

He brought rice wine.

I brought out kimchi.

Good job. (Now that he brought kimchi, too)

Let's drink a bit.

Yes. (Let's rest a bit...)

I feel like I'm going to poop.

I'm going to poop.

I'm so tired. (Teacher Narae's ridiculous Korean)

You're already drinking rice wine?

We must have some at this point.

You didn't mix it?

- Yes. No. / - Come on. (The wall is turning sky blue)

Narae, you're sweating? (Kimchi as a snack)

- Yes. / - Not bad.

It's so good.

We're supposed to share a pair of chopsticks.

Andrea, what did I say we're doing?

Working like a dog.

Yes, we're working like a dog.

This is good. (She'll never forget that phrase)

Andrea, you're doing it in a foreign style.

You're doing such a good job.

Narae, we just need to paint the bottom part now.

Just the bottom.

It looks beautiful.

Isn't it? The color is nice, right?

The color came out so nicely.

Andrea and Minseok are very good.

(Deeply moved)

Isn't it satisfying?

The house looks brighter now.

It's so much brighter.

I'm so proud.

Auntie!

Auntie!

It'd be nice if we could paint another layer.

- Come and take a look. / - You did a great job.

- What do you think? / - That was quick.

We did a good job, right?

Yes. I love the color

I really like the color.

You seemed to like sky blue.

Misook chose the color. (I picked the color)

Oh my. You worked so hard. It's a tough job.

It takes more than a day for my husband.

You did it quite fast.

(Tacky wall...)

(With the help of the guesthouse family)

(It has transformed into a bright, blue wall)

(Cracked faucet area is now smooth, too)

Where is the butcher's shop? (Shopping for groceries)

I saw it earlier. (It's dinner time)

- Where's the butcher's shop? / - I saw it before.

It's up the hill.

A butcher's shop, right?

Further up?

Everybody here is nice.

We must soak it to remove blood, right?

Yes, you do. (Thorough in buying ingredients)

- Please give us some bay leaves, too. / - Okay.

Spinach. Give us a bag of spinach, please.

And seaweed.

Which one do you need?

Something to make seaweed soup with.

- I have a small one and a big one. / - Small one.

Wouldn't this do? This should be enough.

Tuna. Okay.

Narae. Let's buy this, too.

You're so old-fashioned.

Please give us two. How much is the total?

Misook's snacks.

Sweet potato crackers. Old person.

(She's distracted as a young kid)

What is it?

(What caught their attention?)

What is this?

It's sugar candy.

How do we do this?

(Dalgona machine!)

Where can we get change?

Can you give us change, please?

We press this once and it'll come out.

This is how it's done these days.

This is amazing.

(They get sugar and baking soda in a dipper)

This is a small briquette.

(And place it over a mini briquette)

(Dancing)

(These young kids are dancing as they wait)

We used to do this on the way to school.

- Do you know? / - Of course!

Like in the shape of a heart.

Or a star. (Bringing back memories)

- Have you done this before? / - You go like this...

Not yet. Wait until it melts.

This is too simple.

What's "Double king?"

Do you know?

You get lots of sugar.

I should've done that.

(Misook is excited to meet young kids)

You're eating a sugar candy, too?

It's starting to melt.

(Sugar has started to melt)

(They pour it over the mold)

(And insert the wooden stick)

Just place it on top? Oh.

(Slightly press down and that's it!)

Aha!

Kids these days will think this is how dalgona is made.

I know.

This is amazing.

I'm really amazed by this.

Me too. (Misook is nostalgic to be at a market)

I think it's done now.

It looks good.

It looks good.

Amazing! Oh!

(Angry dalgona)

There's a rabbit, too.

Isn't this prettier?

- It came out nicely, right? / - Isn't it pretty?

(That looks really good)

Let's take it.

We have to eat it like this.

Who are you?

Me? A person! (An elementary answer)

How did you know?

(Eyes wide open)

- This is really good. / - Is it?

You're supposed to eat it like this.

(Mmm)

It's so good.

Are you a celebrity?

A celebrity? No.

A comedian.

Just the village idiot.

This is good. What do you think?

It's really good.

It's sweet and nice.

It tastes the same as when we were young.

It's nice to breathe in some fresh air.

I was too hungry and since we were inside for

too long, I was getting dizzy.

I need to charge myself with some food.

Hello.

(They see skewered chicken)

This looks good.

(Appetizing food)

- This is skewered chicken? / - Yes.

What are you going to have?

This one.

I'll take this.

- Enjoy. / - You too.

Here we go.

(Time to eat)

Is it good?

It's really good.

(So good)

- Thank you. / - Good-bye.

(They're now off to the last stage)

(Hair is the final step to styling)

Hello. (Dahey taking charge the whole time)

(Proposing a style for Taemin)

Don't part your hair too much. Just lightly.

Parting your hair looks too tacky.

Nowadays, it is the trend to

part your hair ambiguously.

I'd like that, too. (Today's trend)

Watch how it's done and try it at home.

You can't come get your hair done all the time.

Open your eyes wide and see how he does your hair.

Keep an eye on how it's done, okay? (Yes, ma'am)

Please teach him as you do it.

(Hairstyling begins)

(His hairstyle is starting look good)

(Paying attention)

You look more handsome just with a haircut.

What were you thinking just now?

What I should talk to you about.

(How cute)

(He's still shy)

Dinner made with mom Missok and Park Narae's special recipe [Guesthouse Daughters / 2017.04.04] - Duration: 13:55.

Andrea.

You wanted to cook Korean food, right? Okay.

Misook. Take an apron.

Okay. Okay. Thank you.

She gave us so many aprons.

How many are there?

(She puts on an apron first)

Are you done? What are you doing?

I gave you an apron and you're wearing a bib.

How am I supposed to put this on?

Wait.

(Stare)

Take care of spinach.

No matter how I look at it, this is weird.

(What?)

(This is not the right hole)

(No matter how much I look)

(There isn't a place for me to put my arms through)

(Forget it)

You give up?

Isn't this a blanket? (She gives up)

(While Misook gets familiarized with her new apron)

(Angelic Andrea helps out without being asked)

How do you need this cut? (Onion)

That?

Slice it thin.

Okay.

You're so good.

Eli. Eli? What's your name?

Eli? He's a member of U-KISS.

This is Andrea.

Oh no. (I'm Andrea from Canada)

You're in trouble.

Do you know what my name is?

- Narae, Narae, Park Narae. / - That's a relief.

You look like you'd be good at cooking.

I am.

Really? (Of course)

- No one gives me a chance to cook. / - Then...

I don't cook too many things.

Today is your chance.

I think today's your chance.

I cook spinach very well.

Wait. Let's see.

That's good, right?

You did a good job.

I have a lifetime of experience.

Sure. (She must cook spinach to put in noodles)

I'll cook it in the microwave.

What?

In the microwave?

You don't know about that?

Fewer nutrients are destroyed that way.

Really? (Even Narae has never heard of that)

You don't know. I'll show you.

Cook spinach in a microwave?

You don't know? Look it up.

I'm looking it up.

I've never heard of that.

Spinach microwave.

I found it!

I told you.

"Cook spinach with this one cool microwave trick."

It says it's a trick. (Is it a joke?)

Even if it says it's a trick, it's true.

Somebody said that

if you cook spinach in a microwave,

fewer nutrients are destroyed.

Vegetables cooked in a microwave have

a fewer amount of nutrients destroyed.

(This is who I am)

I know those things very well.

You're a strange person.

I thought your head was completely empty.

(Surprising charm)

(While Misook chops spinach)

Where's minced garlic?

Garlic. (While cooking it in the microwave)

Garlic. Chop, chop, chop, chop.

(Narae adds all kinds of seasonings)

(To make sauce for glass noodles and pork ribs)

(Working hard)

(Spinach is cooked already)

Look. It's so much better in a microwave.

You're right. (It really works!)

It's crunchy.

You're a great cook.

I don't like to cook, but I'm good. (Proud)

Oh my.

Let's cook noodles here and cook soup in here.

Oh! Andrea! (Uncle Sugeun shows up)

She's doing great now.

We couldn't have done it without her.

We wouldn't have known what is where.

Andrea has been so helpful.

You look so feminine today!

She's actually a great cook.

She hasn't done anything. What do you mean?

She cooked this in the microwave.

So she really didn't want to cook, huh?

How do you turn this on?

See?

This is a weird gas stove. I use an induction stove.

Minseok, let's put the desk away upstairs.

Auntie asked us to move the desk. (This desk)

Yes, the big one.

She asked us to move it.

Oh, this step.

Let's go upstairs. Over there.

(The old stairs look dangerous)

(When Sugeun steps on it)

This is dangerous.

(Are there any tools to fix it with?)

(He discovers something!)

Minseok, come here.

Don't you think this will be great?

Tell me what you think.

You're going to fix it with this?

I'll place it underneath.

Look.

(Bricks?)

They look quite similar, right?

Yes.

If the height is the same.

If not, I'll have to shave it off.

With what?

I hope it fits perfectly. I'm desperate.

That's so dangerous.

Please. Please.

Please. Let's go! (Sugeun approaches it as he prays)

Look.

What are we going to do with this?

(Goes right in)

(It fits perfectly!)

Sis!

This is so touching, Sugeun.

This is the best thing you've done in 2017.

(He checks the placement thoroughly)

(It's finally time to test it!)

(How will it be?)

(Ta-da)

(A great success)

(Did I really fix this?)

Narae, come over here.

I fixed the stairs.

- Really? / - Come step on it please.

Really? (He fixed something so quickly?)

That looked really dangerous.

I made it really safe.

- This? / - Just step on it.

Oh my!

Right? (It's very sturdy!)

It's touching. It's so touching.

Step on it. (It doesn't budge at all)

How did you fix this?

Oh my! You're right.

It was so dangerous before.

I was shocked. I thought I was on a swing.

Sugeun. We need to julienne a carrot.

You know I'm a great cook. (It's cooking time!)

I'm chef Lee Yeonbok of the comedian world.

We just need to make seaweed soup.

Let's make seaweed soup here. Alright.

(She puts in a handful of seaweed in the pot)

- Perilla oil. / - Add what?

You need to cook it with perilla oil first.

Here's perilla oil.

(Narae takes care of what Misook missed)

Seasoning... Don't we need to put that in?

- Salt? / - No, garlic.

I was just bringing it over.

It's like you're cooking with a 6th grader.

Fun cooking time with mom.

Narae...

(Lastly, she adds a tablespoon of soy sauce)

Drain the oil first.

I'm putting everything in here.

Yes. Go ahead. (And the main ingredient, tuna!)

We have to hurry and boil it to make japchae, too.

- Mom! / - Who is it?

Uncle.

Is it Dahey or Siyeon?

- Siyeon. / - Siyeon, you're back.

I brought corn dogs.

We ate it already.

Really?

Where did you buy it? We already ate it...

At the market.

Siyeon, go get changed and do the dishes.

- We're so tired. / - Really?

I cooked everything here.

I want to take a nap, too. I'm so tired.

Thank you.

Thank you.

(They find the perfect place for it first)

You have to wipe this first. Moist towelette.

The size is perfect, right?

(From its placement to color, everything is perfect!)

(How exciting)

What if Yerim feels a bit left out?

Why would she?

This is just impressive.

- Did you remove the blood first? / - Of course.

It's not frozen, so we can take it out after 5 minutes.

That looks so good.

Narae, when you're done, set the table and come out.

- Come out. / - Why?

So it looks like Misook cooked everything.

Oh, that's what I should do?

She's got a knife!

(Perfect timing)

Let's do that.

Oh my.

- She isn't talking to me. / - What are we going to do?

I can't talk about the seaweed soup.

You're going to cook it like this?

(This is a foul!)

I'm shocked.

Look at this. This is unbelievable.

- I've never seen anything like this. / - Crazy, huh?

Sugeun, you have to eat less salty food, right?

I didn't put any soy sauce in it.

It's good. It's really good.

It's nice and bland.

But won't the kids like something more seasoned?

They have to cater to our tastes.

Really?

(Boiling)

- I like it. / - This is too salty for me.

What soup is this?

- This? Seaweed soup. / - Tuna seaweed soup?

Yes. I've never tried it with tuna.

But I don't taste tuna at all.

- It doesn't taste like tuna? / - No, it doesn't.

That's not possible.

Do you taste tuna? You don't taste it at all, do you?

How much did you put in?

One can.

Shall we put in one more?

We only have one can.

(Oh no)

We don't have any more tuna?

Why don't we add anchovy sauce then?

Anchovy sauce.

(Plan B: Anchovy sauce)

Did we put in too little tuna?

You're going to add anchovy sauce?

People normally do.

There we go. You're supposed to.

This is how they do it in Jeolla-do.

(She adds anchovy sauce...)

- Want to taste it? / - Yes.

The phone? It's here. Why?

I don't know why you're here.

I don't know why I'm here.

I don't taste the tuna.

Is it supposed to taste like that?

There is some meat but...

Isn't it a bit oily?

Don't say that. You'll hurt her feelings.

It's oily?

- That's what I think. / - Try it.

(Narae steps in)

- She's off getting something. / - What should we add?

It's a bit oily, right?

(It's ruined)

It's a bit oily, right?

(We can only rely on MSG now)

I thought it was because of tuna oil.

(Peeking)

(She secretly puts in a lot of MSG)

Will it taste better?

We should put in instant noodle seasoning.

In seaweed soup? (How will it taste?)

It's that...

(Mom doesn't know a thing)

This is fantastic.

(A successful tactic)

(Next up are beef japchae)

(And Narae's pork ribs with kimchi!)

(Kelp broth)

When do I add the beef?

You have to put it in now.

Stir-fry vegetables and then beef.

Oh, like this. (Adding tons of vegetables)

(She's cooking everything with the noodles)

(Who is it?)

It's Dahey.

Sister. (What's going on?)

Hey, Dahey.

Where are you?

We're all at the guesthouse. (Where is she?)

You're back already? (Really?)

Yes. Where are you?

He just needs to shampoo and style his hair,

then we'll go.

Okay. We're cooking dinner. (We'll be done soon)

What are you cooking? I'm hungry again.

It's crazy over here.

It's like a Korean restaurant here. (Cooking for 15)

Really?

We're cooking pork ribs with kimchi and japchae.

Oh, then...

What time should I arrive so that you're done already?

(What?)

Mom, do you know what Dahey said?

She's asking when we'll be done so she'll come after.

Oh goodness, she's gone crazy.

Oh, Siyeon.

Hurry and come back. We're almost done.

Okay. I'll hurry back.

- Okay, hurry home. / - I'll be there soon.

Is it okay to put raw beef in?

It'll be cooked. (Almost done)

This is how they do it.

It's strange.

- We usually cook beef first. / - Right.

That's because the meat wasn't so fresh.

I don't trust it. (How does it taste?)

- It's good. / - It's good. (Incredible!)

(And Narae's own special recipe)

(Pork ribs with matured kimchi!)

(Dinner at the guesthouse is ready)

Lee Dahae talks about her experience of Narae Bar! [Guesthouse Daughters / 2017.04.04] - Duration: 12:43.

(A park in Seoul)

(Spring is here)

(Guesthouse daughters are on an outing?)

(Where is everyone?)

It's 20 minutes past 10:30, when we said we'd meet.

This is the problem. No one is punctual.

They got excited being outdoors.

Why are you so interested in flower arrangements

when you're not even married?

Hurry up, sis!

- What? / - Hurry. We must go.

Why? Have you been waiting long?

We have to go. We're late.

Why?

We have to be somewhere. I'll tell you later.

- Where's Siyeon? / - Where is she?

We started this show in winter and now it's spring.

- Hi. / - Siyeon.

(Siyeon arrives with excitement, too)

What took you so long?

I'm sorry.

I ate before I came.

We should've done our program outdoors.

- Let's shoot here. / - It's nice.

You look beautiful out here, sis. (Thinking)

Let's just lay out a mat here and shoot.

Lay out a mat?

- This is a memorial park. / - I can tell fortunes.

- In front of the monument? / - You can?

(Misook is spreading folk religion again)

Someone's waiting for us. Hop in.

I did that. Come here. Hop in.

You did what? (Where are we going?)

There's no time. I'll drive.

Where are you taking us in a van?

Where else? No specific destination.

I heard that we're going to Wando.

Wando?

- That sounds like fun. / - Wando? (Cheery)

Let's get going. I'll tell you where we're going.

Do you know how to drive?

- Are you asking me if I know how to drive? / - A van.

I have a bus license.

I can drive a bus, too. You don't show interest in me.

It's exciting to go on an outing.

It is, right?

- It's so nice to be out. / - It's an outing?

There's too much fine dust pollution in the air.

(At that time)

(A mysterious woman is)

(Waiting for everyone)

- We have one more passenger. / - Why?

(Over here)

What's going on?

Where are you headed?

I'm going to Guro.

- We will pass by Guro. / - I see.

Stay alert today.

Oh my gosh!

Oh my gosh!

Oh my.

(Helper of the day, Park Narae)

I didn't know we'd run into you on the street.

(Narae has come to help out for the day)

To see a familiar face.

(She does slapstick already) She smacked her head.

I'm glad you're here, Narae.

- Hello. / - Hello.

Oh my.

We've met.

Yes, we've met.

This is my first time meeting you. Narae Bar.

Would you like to come to my bar one day?

Me too. Me too.

(Rising hot place! Hallowed ground of the stars!)

(All kinds of food, drink, and entertainment is ready)

(Narae Bar)

- I've been to Narae Bar. / - In real life?

When Kim Junho was on our program.

That's when you went?

He called me after the shoot. So I went.

Her eyes were out of focus already.

Dahey... (Pretending to be Park Narae)

Aren't you curious to know where we're going today?

Where are we going?

Jinx!

Why don't you read this? (Daughters are curious, too)

- A letter? What is this? / - Yes, a letter.

Oh my.

"Hello, 'Guesthouse Daughters.'

I watched the first episode and

realized our families are similar.

I've been operating a guesthouse for 20 years now."

20 years?

"I have a son who is concerned about finding a job

and I have a daughter who just got into college.

I imagined what it would be like if the shoot

took place at our guesthouse.

Would you like to come visit our guesthouse?

I will serve great toast and coffee if you come.

From guesthouse mom."

Students come from other regions, stay here,

and she is their mom.

She's you. (Real situation from a guesthouse)

Let's visit the guesthouse and talk to these people

and we can make them good food.

You're very smart.

We must hear about her operation policy...

- And learn from her! / - Yes, that's right.

I am curious about what a real guesthouse is like.

I've stayed at a guesthouse before.

It was an old place.

The owner was such a great cook.

The place was never empty.

If the food is good...

Everybody wants to stay there.

The most important thing for a guesthouse is good food.

I should go and learn how to cook.

I watched the program and

you are a terrible cook.

I'm not really interested in food. But I'm hungry.

I'm so hungry. (Talking about food made me hungry)

We used to eat instant noodles at our guesthouse.

Did you eat breakfast? (Is it time for me to step in?)

No, I didn't.

What is this? She brought something!

I was wondering what she had in her clutch.

She has 3 rice rolls.

And she ate some.

It really does feel like an outing now.

- I really like this store's rice rolls. / - Where?

- The anchovy and pepper roll is the best. / - Yes.

I'm sure most students at guesthouses

are most concerned about food.

Because they can't say what they want to eat.

Let's say you don't like kimchi stew.

But they can't not cook it just for him.

That's why there were many side dishes.

- For us to choose what we want to eat. / - Right.

What's your favorite side dish?

I like braised cutlassfish.

- That sounds good. / - I cook it well.

With radish and potatoes.

My family owns a hairtail fish restaurant.

Really? (A precious daughter of a hairtail place)

We serve octopus and hairtail. We should have it today.

Your mom?

The best thing about our restaurant

is the kimchi. Our matured kimchi is the best.

My grandmother makes it in Jeolla style.

I love matured kimchi.

It goes well with everything.

I cook it with pork ribs.

(Matured kimchi with pork ribs, sashimi)

She and I have similar tastes.

Matured kimchi must be eaten as a wrap.

It's really good.

Are we going somewhere to eat now?

We're not going to a popular restaurant, are we?

We have lots to do when we arrive. You'll be shocked.

We don't have time to relax.

I knew it when you gave me rice rolls.

When I'm fed it means I have to work.

(They've arrived in Hongje-dong)

Hongje-cheon, the stream.

That's Hongje-cheon?

They've placed flower pots. (11 a.m. in Hongje-dong)

We're here.

I don't like neighborhoods that are too sleek.

Where? Where? Where?

(You can enjoy nature in the city in Hongje-dong)

(The 6th story of "Guesthouse Daughters" begins here)

Wow.

(Misook and her daughters have arrived) Here!

- Guesthouse. / - Guesthouse and Boarding House.

Look at the front yard. It'd be great to eat BBQ here.

The door is quite unique.

The place looks great.

This whole place is the guesthouse?

Look at all those shoes!

(There are so many shoes)

They must dry in the sun.

How many people are there?

Look at the umbrellas.

(Let's meet the guesthouse family now)

Let's go inside.

Do we go in here?

- Excuse me. / - Hello.

Mother.

- Ma'am. / - Hello.

Hello.

She's so nice. (The warm face of a guesthouse mother)

I should step out, not do this from inside.

Oh my! Oh my!

- You're so beautiful. / - Hello.

(Thank you for inviting us)

She has the hands of a great cook.

You have calluses. You must play golf.

With a spatula. With a ladle.

Let's not stay out here.

Where are the students?

Oh, right! There's an annex over there.

Excuse me. (Time to meet real boarders)

Minseok, are you asleep?

He's like her real son.

She's calling her as if he's her real son.

Minseok, come on out.

She's like a real grandmother.

Hello. (They finally meet the first student)

Come here. Come here.

(Ji Minseok / Age 21 / Been boarding for a year)

You look quite young, Minseok.

Isn't he cute? He looks like an actor.

Which actor?

I don't know his name.

He doesn't resemble anyone.

He resembles auntie.

May we go inside?

Go to your room and come see us later.

- We'll be inside. Come in. / - Okay.

Come and hang out with us.

Minseok, you should dry your sneakers in the sun.

Come on in. Come on in. (Acting like the landlord?)

Excuse us.

(Introducing Hongje-dong Guesthouse)

(8 students are boarding here)

(Her day starts with cooking in the kitchen)

(They were strangers before, but they're now family)

(There's a spacious living room)

Narae, you can't live here.

Why not?

You can't go up the stairs drunk.

These are a relic of history.

(Once they go up the wooden stairs)

Wow, look at the second floor! It's nice.

Taemin! (How nice)

Are you home? Taemin.

Graduates live here.

(Moon Taemin / Age 28 / Been boarding for 4 years)

This is a nice place.

It's nice, right?

Suhyeon.

Hello.

You're dressed so nicely at home.

- I'm on my way out. / - You're leaving?

This is Andrea. She's from Canada.

- She's a foreigner? / - Yes. Are you nervous?

- Hello. / - Hi, nice to meet you.

(Andrea / Age 25 / Canada / Been boarding for 6 months)

(Looking around Suhyeon's room first)

The room smells so nice.

It smells like candy.

It's really clean.

Men and women's rooms are different.

Taemin, why are you hiding in the corner?

Come on out.

Taemin, let us look around your room.

Taemin, show us your room.

It smells quite different.

Wait. Look at the blanket.

I think he brought yours from our guesthouse, Misook.

(Similar to what Misook has)

He cleaned up since we're coming.

What are you doing here?

I want to help because he lives on his own.

You're too obsessed with cleaning.

Taemin.

You're not lonely here, are you?

Suhyeon is on her way out to meet her boyfriend.

Suhyeon.

No wonder.

Can we look at Andrea's room?

We have to speak English. You go.

(Knock knock knock)

Andrea.

Andrea.

Andrea isn't in her room?

Excuse me. You. Room. Show me.

(How cute, come in)

(Clean)

What is this?

I'm learning ukulele.

Learning?

- Playing? Playing? / - A little.

(Awkward) But... Really...

(She's just a beginner)

I have the chords here.

You really are just a beginner.

Is Andrea playing something?

- She's playing the ukulele. / - I want to see.

(It feels like they're in Hawaii)

(Damdadi?)

(Hawaiian version of Damdadi?)

You have to move your hands, too.

(I'll do it my way)

(How fun)

(Thanks for playing the ukulele) That was great.

Let's have a seat out here.

Have a seat.

Andrea doesn't like people with smelly feet.

Have a seat. There's a sofa here, too.

Guesthouse daughters visit a real guest house! [Guesthouse Daughters / 2017.04.04] - Duration: 10:20.

(What are these students like?)

Where are you from, Minseok?

I'm from Pyeongtaek.

I see. What about you, Suhyeon?

Ulsan. (Sugeun wants to know their hometown)

Ulsan has so many beautiful women.

Which of these three women do you think is from Ulsan?

Wait. Why are you excluding me?

I could be from Ulsan, too.

You're from Mokpo.

(Disappointed)

How long have you been living here?

A year and a month.

You've been here for a while.

Are there any rules?

Something like, don't bring your boyfriend here.

They can bring friends.

But they can't sleep in the same room.

Has your boyfriend been here?

- Yes. / - Yes.

I tell them to bring their boyfriends or girlfriends.

I asked her for permission and he came over.

If they bring them

but I don't approve of them, then I say,

"They're not right for you."

Then the person gets mad.

You step in like a real mom.

It's more because it's fun.

If they get mad, they're too narrow-minded.

Since you are too far from home,

she's judging your friends objectively.

I think it's safer that way.

I'm sure you can concentrate on your studies more.

What are some inconveniences?

You do.

Nothing except taking a shower.

Taemin takes a long time taking showers.

You don't look like you'd wash often. (Joking)

So you shower quite often.

- It's a habit. / - A habit.

Andrea is from Canada.

From Canada.

I've never seen a foreigner board like this.

- Her mom is Korean. / - Is that right?

She does have a little bit of the Korean look.

- Any difficulties in communicating? / - Sorry?

Any difficulties? Like communicating...

Dahey. (Dahey's English conversation time)

You look really awesome right now.

The food here is amazing.

She said the food is great. (Most important part)

When I first arrived, she'd made poutine for breakfast.

That's right. Okay.

I heard that a student from Canada was coming,

so I looked up Canadian food.

That's what I found.

(Touching)

It's very simple. But it has a ton of calories.

A ton of calories. (Poutine/ Fast food of Quebec)

I was like, "I love it here.

Thank you." (Andrea was touched by auntie's love)

After she ate that she fell in love with this place.

She looks after each student.

- She wrote us a letter. / - Yeah.

She wanted us to make great memories for you guys.

That's why we are here.

Taemin, what do you want from us?

This is my last semester, so I'm looking for a job.

- Oh, looking for a job. / - That's a tough time.

I can get help with cover letters,

but I must dress up when I go to interviews.

I'm not good at dressing up.

Oh, dressing up.

Then I'd like to help with that.

Picking out a nice outfit.

That's great.

Is that alright with you?

Sure.

(Ecstatic)

No, I'll do it instead.

Do you want Dahey or Narae to help you?

(Lee Dahey / Park Narae)

Which one?

Dahey.

(Thanks, Taemin)

What do you want to do, Andrea?

What do you want to do with us today?

- Teach me Korean. / - Teach you Korean?

She wants us to teach her Korean.

From whom would you like to learn?

(Park Narae is chosen)

Then you'll learn cuss words first.

(Thank you)

Suhyeon, you're off to meet your boyfriend, right?

Well, there's tuna seaweed soup.

My mom... (Tuna seaweed soup?)

I've heard of beef seaweed soup, but not tuna.

It's made with canned tuna.

Where did you eat that? (Amazed)

- My mom made it for me. / - Your mom?

What are you going to do?

I was in an empty room earlier.

It's a girl's room, but there's no dressing table.

Oh my.

She's using a box as a dressing table?

She could just use this.

A girl in her 20s would want to look nice.

I want to get her one. (Will buy a dressing table)

She's at school. It's Yerim's room.

Why don't you go ask what she likes?

Siyeon, why don't you make a surprise visit

and go buy it with Yerim and come back.

It's been a while since you've been on campus, right?

I know. I'm getting butterflies.

You barely graduated from high school.

Enjoy the college campus.

Auntie, how can we help you? You sent us a letter.

Is there anything you want us to help with?

I'd like to ask you to paint a wall. It's dirty.

Some is left. Is that okay?

It looked like you painted every door.

Yes, I did.

It's white here and it was blue on the first floor.

You painted everything here, right?

- Yes. / - Good.

- You painted everything yourself? / - Wow.

Wow, I'm impressed. (How impressive)

What else is there?

The laundry place.

I must be too heavy. The floor sank.

- The floor? / - The floor.

Where you do laundry?

Could you buy some cement and fix it up?

Isn't that a plastering job?

Don't you just have a concern we can help you solve?

We are great listeners.

(Today's tasks)

(Styling for an interview)

(Purchasing a dressing table)

(Painting a wall & pouring cement)

I don't know this neighborhood.

What should we take? The subway?

- A bus. / - A bus?

Okay. Okay. This way?

Yes, this way.

I'm on a bus date with you today.

(Shy)

I've never been on a bus with a man.

This is the first time. (Dahey is more excited)

I've never been on a bus with a stranger.

It's a bit... I shouldn't, but I'm getting butterflies

Let's do a good job today!

(They're off to a great start)

Where should we go?

Many stores are closed because it's Sunday.

I'm curious.

Why do you keep putting your hands together?

Why do you keep walking like this? (Shy)

I'm a bit nervous.

You're nervous? Why?

I've never seen a celebrity this close before.

Oh, because of that?

I'm not a celebrity today.

I'm not a celebrity.

I'm just a girl next door. (Awkward)

Let's go buy a drink and walk.

- Okay. / - Okay?

Hands.

Why do you keep putting your hands together?

People will misunderstand us.

(Meanwhile, Siyeon is off to the campus to meet Yerim)

(She suddenly starts laughing?)

No. 7918?

- It's a celebrity! / - You scared me!

- It's a celebrity! / - You scared me.

You scared me.

Taemin... (I was surprised, Taemin)

Oh my god, it's the eating monster!

The eating monster!

- Where are you headed? / - What are you doing here?

I'm on my way to the campus to find that student.

- Right. You're going to the campus. / - Yes.

Why are you eating alone? None for me?

She'll steal my food.

Do you know how to get there?

I don't know.

Ask Taemin. (Siyeon left without knowing the way)

The campus.

Take the town bus over there.

- Oh, it's not here? / - No.

You came to the wrong bus stop, ma'am. Excuse me.

I was amazed by running into a star.

It's not here. You've come to the wrong place.

Which bus?

No. 8. That one.

It's that one?

Go. Go. (The town bus has arrived)

- Bye. / - Hurry and go!

Hurry up!

Bye.

I can't believe she was courageous enough to

come alone in a strange neighborhood.

I really don't get her.

I haven't been on a town bus in a long time.

(Brings back memories)

(Off to meet Yerim)

Bye, Siyeon.

Come back safely.

(Brings back memories)

(Celebrity / Amazing)

Where are you off to?

- School. / - Which school?

Sangmyung Women's High School.

Sangmyung high school? Oh, you're in high school.

You're going to school to study on Sunday?

I see.

Do you know about our program?

I heard that it's "Guesthouse Daughters."

Oh, you heard. You've never watched it? (Disappointed)

Then again, you do have to study.

You're so pretty.

Thank you.

How many more stops is the university from here?

Which university?

Sangmyung.

You can get off at the same bus stop as me.

Really?

The university must be next to the high school.

Yes. You'll get off at the main gate.

It's an affiliate.

(Amazed)

It's my lucky day.

Come here. Let's take a picture. That's real luck.

Oh my god!

You lug this big thing around?

Are you ready? One, two, three.

Can I take it once more without my glasses?

Yes, I understand. Everyone has their thing.

One, two, three.

Thank you so much.

No problem.

You are so pretty.

Thank you. You're pretty, too. You really are.

(Dinner time with the entire family)

(Will they enjoy Misook and Narae's cooking?)

Misook.

Aren't you glad you didn't take out water earlier?

The rice is cooked very well.

I told you we needed more water.

I cooked the rice! (Uncle Sugeun's well-cooked rice)

(Proud proud)

The rice is cooked well, right?

- Dahey! / - She's back.

We have a new guest here.

(A new student?)

Come in. Come in.

Who's here? (Don't be shy and come in)

Dahey!

(It's me, Taemin)

(Who is that handsome young man?)

Dahey, what did you do to him? (Unbelievable)

You pass! (Congratulations)

Please join our company immediately.

Come over here.

Look at him.

Dahey, what did you do to him? (Is it the same Taemin?)

It's him. Taemin.

Our Taemin is back.

You look great, Taemin.

Taemin will get a job soon.

Dahey, you did this for him?

Yes.

From head to toe.

- He looks great. / - They're mad.

They worked all day with us. (They feel betrayed)

You look great, Taemin.

How many of us are there? Bring spoons.

I brought spoons.

You cooked everything? (Unbelievable)

Of course.

- Oh my goodness. / - Misook worked the hardest.

- Siyeon. / - What?

You need a big bowl, right?

Did you cook, mom?

Cook? Didn't you see the wall?

Look at the wall. We painted that.

I thought I was going to die today!

Oh my! You painted that?

They painted that wall today.

(Everyone is complaining about working too much)

- What are you going to do? / - Oh my.

It's beautiful.

We have paper cups. (Side glance)

How was it with Dahey?

It was awkward.

How was it?

I worked all day.

I'm sorry. I'm sorry.

When did you get here? Come here.

Wait.

Who just got back from home?

Me.

Please introduce yourself.

Name?

- Yu Yejin. / - Yejin.

Say hello.

Hello. I'm Choi Wonjun.

- I'm 20 years old. / - A freshman?

Yes. First year in college.

What is your major?

I am a student of Sangmyung University

majoring in Human Intelligence Information Engineering.

Wow. Human Intelligence Information Engineering.

Human... What is that?

There are so many majors out there these days.

So what do you study?

I learn about Artificial Intelligence.

A.I. A.I. Alpha Go. (Pretending to know)

No wonder. He speaks stiffly, like a robot.

(It's because I study robots) He's has a Ph.D vibe.

The cast of "Guesthouse Daughters" prepared dinner.

Let's eat.

- Let's eat. / - Try some.

Food will get cold.

I wonder if the seaweed soup is good.

Wonjun, enjoy.

The seaweed soup is good.

Unbelievable! It tastes awesome.

It's fantastic. Seriously.

Sis, they're saying that the seaweed soup is fantastic.

- Is it good? / - Is it?

(What about Suhyeon, who missed her mom's soup?)

Oh my!

It tastes just like mom's! Seriously!

She must like it.

- It tastes the same. / - Really? (Relieved)

That's a relief. I'm glad you like it.

(Siyeon tries some)

What about mom? What did she do? She cooked, too?

Hey! I made the soup!

Really?

- She cooked it. / - Really? (I guarantee it)

That's a new side of mom.

She's a great cook.

She doesn't usually cook, but when she does...

Be quiet. Don't.

I don't want to praised.

Why are you refusing compliments?

Why are you refusing compliments?

I'm sorry.

Congratulations on finding a job.

Thank you.

Tell us what you liked the most today.

Dahey worked hard today, right?

You've become a different person.

You look different from this morning.

You're a different person.

Men depend on how women do.

Sure.

You're right.

What did you like the most about today? Be honest.

- Everything was great. / - Everything?

He was just happy being with Dahey.

Minseok, tell us. What was good about today?

Minseok... Let's hear him out.

Me?

Everything was good for me, too.

(Minseok isn't a great liar...)

I'm curious. There are 4 girls and 4 boys living here.

You know... Wouldn't you start liking each other?

Wouldn't you?

No.

(She won't even give them a chance)

Right. No chance at all.

Suhyeon, be honest. You live in the next room.

What do you think of his new look?

From a girl's point of view.

I know you have a boyfriend,

but when you look at him... (Wants to hear it)

He has a new look now. Be objective.

He really looks great. (Thumbs up)

His image got better.

If you didn't have a boyfriend, would you date him?

No.

(Taemin isn't Suhyeon's style)

Andrea, you have a boyfriend, too?

So everyone here has someone.

Andrea's boyfriend lives in Hong Kong.

He's a son of a business tycoon.

You said he's in Korea right now?

He came to visit.

When does he go back?

Tuesday.

Tuesday? Then you don't have much time left.

You shouldn't be here. (Today is Sunday)

Right.

He's leaving the day after tomorrow.

But you were here painting with us instead?

- I feel so bad. / - It's okay.

No wonder. She punched through the wall before.

(A punch with longing for her boyfriend)

She's really pretty.

She is pretty, right?

Her boyfriend is a son of a "chaebol."

A business tycoon.

Do you know what "chaebol" means?

No.

Does he have much money?

- Is my dad rich? / - Is he rich?

My boyfriend?

No.

She said he's not. (It was just a rumor)

Why were you making things up?

What did you do?

I thought I taught her a lot of Korean today.

What did you learn today? What did we do?

"Worked like a dog."

(She's learned Korean perfectly)

I taught her that. (Embarrassed)

I told you not to teach her things like that.

It was tough.

(Perfect Korean teacher Narae Park)

Taemin said this to me on the bus.

What?

I said, "It's so nice, Taemin.

It's nice that we're on a bus together."

He said, "Earlier I was worried I might go with Narae."

What?

You want to lose your hair?

I can turn your hair to the way it was this morning.

(No. It's a misunderstanding...)

He would've looked completely different with Narae.

Completely different.

He would've rolled in from the gate.

(He was fortunate that he went with Dahey)

It's nice to be out here and meet younger people.

Yes, it's very nice.

We're getting their youthful energy.

I was reminded of when I stayed

at a guesthouse at age 17.

I was on my own without my parents

so it was tough, but now that I think back on it,

I endured it thanks to my friends.

Also I was so happy that I had an auntie

who cooked delicious food for us.

I am reminded of that time by being here.

And seeing Misook and the daughters, I think...

"This isn't so easy."

(Being on "Guesthouse Daughters" isn't easy...)

Oh gee. What did we do today?

Worked like a dog.

Right! That's what I mean.

But it was fun. It brought back memories.

Since we prepared dinner

you guys do the dishes.

We have to get going now. It's late.

Always be energized in life, okay?

- Minseok, good luck in the army. / - Sure.

Taemin, I hope you find a job.

(We hope everyone has only good days ahead)

Yerim.

It's me. May I come in?

How do you like the dressing table?

I love it.

- You've organized it already. / - Yes.

Look at the mirror.

It looks quite different now, right?

I prepared another gift for you.

I don't know if you'll like it. You're not a baby.

It's something immature.

- It's so cute. / - Isn't it?

(Perfectly Yerim's taste) It's so cute!

It's so cute.

It's cute, right?

Should we take a picture together?

(The day Yerim and Siyeon met)

Everybody is rooting for me,

so I feel like I can work harder and find a job.

I thought I would feel distant from them,

but I was grateful that they were so friendly with us.

Thank you so much for spending time with us today.

Thank you so much for the dressing table, too.

This background looks beautiful.

It's like a family drama.

(Spending our youth at the guesthouse with family)
