THE NEXT WEB A massive ransomware attack is causing havoc

at airports, banks and many other institutions across Europe.

It remains unclear who is behind the ttack, but Moscow-based security firm Group-IB told

Reuters it appears to be a coordinated effort simultaneously targeting victims in Russia

and Ukraine.

While the attack seems to be more widely spread in Russia and Ukraine, it is also affecting

companies in Denmark, Spain and the US.

So far several companies have reported experiencing issues, including Copenhagen-based shipping

"Sin City" by Frank Miller (1991) comic review - graphic novel recommendations - Duration: 1:57.

Now, let's talk about Sin City by Frank Miller, which was released in the early 90s, and caused quite a stir in the comics world.

Right off the bat, it was the artwork of Sin City that leapt out at everyone.

The comics have a noir look, with extreme contrast between the light and dark parts of the images.

In other words, everything is either black OR white, and there is extensive use of shadows and silhouettes.

And, Frank tries a lot of interesting effects with the 'look' of the comic.

Like, for example the way that Marv's bandages show up on his silhouette for some reason. I really like that.

And, look, as well as the artwork, the series is famous for its tone of writing, which uses the kind of language from detective pulp fiction.

It's fun to read, and the images and text work really well together.

And I also like Frank Miller's extensive use of onomatopoeia throughout the comic, with sound effect words like

BLAM, BLAM,

PUNT, SPAK, and POOM-POOM being incorporated into the artwork.

I was so close to putting Sin City into my list of essential comics, but I thought I'd err on the side of caution and put it here in my list of personal favourites.

There are seven Sin City stories that Frank Miller released.

And to be honest, I don't like all of them equally.

So, my three recommendations for the best Sin City yarns are

#1 The Hard Goodbye,

#2 A Dame to Kill For,

and #4 That Yellow Bastard.

So, check out those three Sin City books, and then maybe check out the others as well.

Sawing end grain at an angle - Duration: 3:50.

Very often I have to make very thin end grain strips

I make them with the use of band saw of standard 34-35 mm thick strip

This is long and tedious work to saw right along the grain

In this case the band saw blade have to remove long wood fibers at once

This is not easy for blade especially with such hard woods as wenge or purple heart

So I thought to make it easier by changing the angle of sawing

When sawing the end blanks, the wood fibers are parallel to the band saw blade

It is hard for the band saw blade to remove the whole fiber

When you change the angle of sawing the blade cut the fiber by small parts

This way is easier and faster

So I made a simple jig to change the angle of sawing

In standard case the blade have to remove the entire fiber, for example, 55 mm long

If you change the angle the sawing becomes easier and faster

Sawing becomes faster and more uniform

You often can feel the twitches during sawing end blanks

Changing the angle solve this problem
