Hi, everyone.
I'm trying something different today for my vlog.
Well, I mean it's the same stuff I usually do, but I'm in my bedroom in a different area.
I'm trying to move stuff around and see what would look good where.
Uh, so, this past week I went to Too Many Games.
It was a convention in the Philadelphia area for gaming.
And I really enjoyed it.
Um, this is the first gaming convention I've ever been to and there were... obviously,
there were games to play.
There was this whole section where you could play arcade games or you could sit and use...
they had some video games set up, like on T.V.s with Xbox and PlayStation.
And, uh, they had a retro arcade.
They had a section where you could sit and use your handheld devices.
They had a stage in that area where they could have people up on the stage playing head-to-head.
And there was a video screen you could watch them playing.
There was a room that was a concert area.
They had some concerts and shows in there.
They had a large area for people selling things... um, you know, video games and crafts that
people make that have to do with video games.
And there was a section for indie games.
I went to look at some of the indie games that were there.
There was only a couple that were really interesting to me, and I don't think I've gone back on
and looked up their stuff yet.
And there was also a section for board games and card games.
They have this area where you could... you can go back and sign out different board games,
different card games.
And they have these long tables and... with chairs setup.
And you could just sit there with your friends and play a board game or play a card game.
Lot's of stuff to choose from.
They had three what they call panel rooms.
It's like a room where someone does a panel.
They just kind of... sometimes it's a contest or sometimes it's a show, but usually it's
someone standing up there talking and giving information or advice.
And I went to a few of those.
I went to one that...
I should have...
I should have got the paperwork out for it.
But, I went to one that was about how gaming... how YouTube is changing gaming.
I went to another that was about how to do better on YouTube.
It was about using descriptions and trying different things and using your tags.
I went to one that was about legal issues to do with having a Facebook Channel.
And I mean I can't give any advice on that stuff, but it seemed like it was really difficult...
it seems like it's difficult stuff for people (laughs) that may be using... using stuff
that belongs to other companies.
You know, like (clears throat)... like, when you're streaming vid... not streaming video
games, but when you're doing Let's Plays and stuff.
I don't know.
I don't know what to say about... uh (laughs) I feel like I'm not giving any information...
I feel like I learned a lot during all of it and I've been writing some of it down to
keep it in my mind.
Uh, I went to...
I went to a panel hosted by Mr CreepyPasta, and it was about writing.
It was about writing for, you know, online creepypastas, but he also talked about um
practice techniques and getting your... um, getting your work out for people to see and
developing a following.
So, I really enjoyed it.
It wore me out.
Uh, I was lucky enough that they have seats everywhere at (laughs) gaming conventions.
It's not like other conventions where there's hardly any place to sit.
There's so many places to sit at a gaming convention.
And some of the places...
I mean I didn't get to sit in these ones... they had a section that was all different
kinds of bean bags, but if I would have sat in one of those I don't think I would have
gotten back out.
So, I just sat in the regular chairs.
But I really enjoyed it.
I felt like...
I felt like I was doing something I wanted to do and I just would recuperate when I'd get home.
You know.
I brought my own food, for the most part and I would sit out in the air conditioning in
my car and eat my lunch or whatever.
So, so far this week I've mostly been driving people... well, that's what I do.
I drive (laughs)...
I don't want to bring that up again.
I drive people around to their jobs and stuff.
Uh, I've been...
I'm thinking about doing this... trying this thing out where I...
I like reading a lot.
I read a lot of books.
And I was thinking, I don't see a lot about books on YouTube.
And I'm trying to think of different ways that, you know, I could share that book reading
experience with other people.
So, I'm going to try some stuff out in the next couple weeks and see how that goes.
See if, um, see if I get any response for that.
So, I'm looking forward to trying that out.
I don't know if I'm going to keep this setup the way I have it right now.
I wanted to turn it around, 'cause I'm sitting...
I have a little desk in my room... in my bedroom and it had a bunch of papers and things on
it which I've cleared off.
But I had originally set it up so I could sit and write here, but I never did...
I never did put a computer on it.
I do my writing downstairs.
I have a computer downstairs that I write on.
But I want to...
I have to find other outlets, because... you know, electrical outlets to see if I can get...
because I have a light right here.
Look, I'll move it towards me and away from me.
It does a lot of light.
I was thinking I could put it...
I could turn around and I could have a setup here and I could have the light shining on
me from back there.
It might look better.
You know, right now you just see a big room and I don't know if you see the nonsense on
my husband's dresser back there.
The fan's running.
I forgot to turn off the fan.
(laughs) I forgot to turn off the fan.
Yeah.
I'm kind of having a long day.
I got up early to take my son and his friend to the Department of Motor Vehicles, so they
could take their... so they could take their learner's permit tests.
And, um, I hurt my foot somehow.
Well, I think I've mentioned before, I have damage to my right foot and ankle, and I must
have stood on it wrong.
It's hurting a lot right now, so.
Not to complain, but that's why... that might be why...
I'm giving myself a nice excuse (laughs) for the video.
So, food-wise we um...
I made chicken enchiladas for dinner last night, and everybody seemed to like them.
But I don't know what we're having for dinner tonight.
Hopefully, my husband will cook dinner.
I don't know.
He's on his way home from work right now, so.
Oh, and our anniversary is this week.
It'll be 27 years that we've been married.
I don't know what I'm going to get him.
We don't usually get each other stuff.
We usually just go out to eat or on the big... on the big honeymoon... on the big anniversaries we go places.
So, like, we went somewhere on our 10th anniversary.
Um, actually I think we've gone on a bunch of different ones.
Yeah, we went somewhere on our tenth anniversary.
That was just a... um, a train ride where we had a special dinner.
You know, it was on an old, um, an old locomotive.
I'd have to get the information out to remember everything.
Even though I love trains, I have a bad memory, so.
(laughs) I liked that, it was very nice.
And for our 20th anniversary, we went on an... um, one of those ships that goes out on like...
it's like a cruise ship but it's just for one night.
You go out and there's dinner and dancing and sometimes there's a show, like a comedian.
I don't think we had a comedian.
I think we had dinner and music and dance... uh, there were dancers.
And you know, you can go stand out on the deck and look at the stars.
So, we did that, I think, on our 20th anniversary.
And then on our 25th anniversary, which was two years ago, we went on our first cruise
to, uh, the Bahamas.
And that was on Royal Caribbean.
And I really, really enjoyed that trip.
I think my husband did too.
We both enjoyed it.
And we didn't know if we would or not.
We've talked to lots of people who've been on cruises.
I've always thought of myself as not a cruise person, because (laughs)...
I mean a lot of people like to go on cruises and you can get... you can get like a drink
ticket where you just pay a flat price and you can drink alcohol the whole time you're
on the ship.
Well, I don't drink alcohol because of the medicine I'm on.
And, at the time, my husband was on a medicine that he couldn't drink either.
So, we weren't drinking alcohol on the trip, but we still enjoyed it.
It was...
I mean it was beautiful.
And it wasn't too crowded.
There was... we went on a medium size ship.
We didn't go on one of the super large ones.
There were good shows.
There were lots of comedy shows, which my husband and I both love stand-up comedy.
And, um, there's a large swimming pool and then there was a pool that's kind of in an
indoor area that's only for adults.
You know, as in, you know, there's no children running around and splashing and... um, there's
lots of little nooks and cranny areas where you can just kind of tuck yourself out of
the way and read a book.
Uh, so I definitely think I'm going to do that again, sometime in the future.
Um, as for T.V. shows, right now I've been watching Preacher.
Just started up, the second season of Preacher.
I don't know if any of you have watched that, but...
I guess it's based on a comic book, but it's so odd and surreal.
Like it has this... it has... the main character who's the preacher, he used to be like a confidence man.
You know, a guy that used to run, um, scams on people.
But he's a minister now, like his father was.
And then there's a vampire (laughs), a really goofy vampire-guy that's Irish and hundreds
of years old... and there's a couple of angels.
It's just... and just the strangest stuff will happen in every episode... like, stuff
you don't expect.
So, if you like that kind of silly, surreal type stuff, you might like that T.V. show.
I think the first season is on Hulu right now, if you wanted to watch the back seasons...
the back season.
There's only one.
Right now they're on the second season.
So, there's two episodes, so far, of season two that's come out.
And that's on AMC, I believe.
And then it's going to air regularly on Monday nights at 9 p.m. Eastern Time.
So, Fourth of July's coming up and I don't really have any plans, because we had a bunch
of people over on Memorial Day and it was a lot of work.
I mean, my husband did most of the cooking, but (laughs) it was still a lot of work to
have people over.
I'm not as young as I used to be.
So, maybe we'll get invited somewhere, or maybe we'll just stay home.
It doesn't matter.
Um, I usually have to keep my dog from getting scared, anyway, because he's scared... my
dog's afraid of lightning and uh, definitely... definitely fireworks.
And he's about 14 now, I guess.
He's always been afraid.
He's a... he's half gold...half golden retriever, half yellow lab.
So, I like to make sure he's OK, because he's my baby.
And I think that'll be all for me, for now.
I hope everybody's having a good week, so far.
And you know, if you like this video then please give me a thumbs-up, and consider subscribing.
I'm going to try some new things in the near future, so keep an eye out for that.
I'll talk to you soon.
Bye.
