Episode 4: Am I Being Rude To My Therapist? - Duration: 2:23.

Is it rude if I don't ask my therapist how she's doing?

What do you mean?

Ok, so she doesn't let me into the room until the exact moment that our session starts

and then she always asks me, 'how are you?'

You know, as like part greeting, part session start.

Is it rude if I don't ask her the same thing back?

Because I spend a lot of money on these sessions and she always kicks me out at the exact moment

that our time is up and I kind of don't want to pay her to tell me about her

weekend but I also don't want her to think that I'm rude and resent me for

it and have that, you know, effect our sessions moving forward.

Jesus Sam

I know

Does she going to detail?

About what?

When you ask how she's doing.

Oh, I dunno, I've never done it before.

I just answer her question with 'I'm okay'

and then we just sorta nod at each other for a while like that Kermit GIF.

Pat: What Kermit GIF?

That's another thing.

Your therapist doesn't know memes?

Yes, that is a problem. But also, she doesn't ask me any questions!

It's completely unstructured. She just waits until I say something and

then occasionally asks for clarification. Otherwise she just sits there smiling

which just stresses me out more because how the fuck am I supposed to know what

to talk about? There's so much. Where do I even start?

Pat: Enough depressing things happen to you in a single week that you cannot

possibly recount them all?

No, but sometimes it's not like one specific thing.

And I feel like having a slow week is a waste of therapy.

Did you tell her that?

Of course not. Because then she'd ask me why I want her to give me prompts, and

then that'll become a whole thing.

And that's not a whole thing you think you should talk to your therapist about?

My inability to get through small talk

without prompts is literally the least of my problems.

Therapy isn't small talk.

Isn't it?

Fuck.

Yep.

I'm craving a burger.

Pat: Get me a milkshake.

Sam: Yup.

Episode 7: My Therapist Thinks I'm Depressed - Duration: 2:56.

[loud chewing]

So my therapist thinks I'm depressed.

You are depressed.

Yeah, but now she thinks I'm EXTRA depressed.

I think you're being deliberately vague to draw out this conversation.

So today my therapist asked me if I was gonna do

anything for the holiday, and I said I don't know, because for all I know I

could be dead by then.

Valid point.

Apparently, you can't say shit like that to your therapist

because then we spent the rest of the session talking about whether or not

I should be on suicide watch.

Should you be on suicide watch?

No.

I'm garden-variety depressed, same as you.

How dare you.

Nothing I am is garden-variety.

I communicate entirely in depression memes and nihilistic humor. Therapy is all

about communication. If I can't communicate to my therapist, then

something is wrong.

Are you trying to make her laugh?

What?

When you say nihilistic shit to your therapist.

What's the end goal?

There... isn't one?

Then stopping shouldn't affect your ability to communicate.

No... th- that's bullshit!

Pretty sure that's not how you say 'brilliant.'

Okay, but do you swear at your therapist?

Never.

I swear AROUND her.

Okay, but if she told you to stop, wouldn't that hinder your ability

to communicate, which is in turn the entire fucking point of therapy?

Okay, I see your point, but that's still some false equivalency bullshit right there.

Communication is a rich and inexact science.

You're a rich and inexact science.

Did I just win an argument?

Sam: Please.

Imagine what would happen if she finally laughed at one of your

hilarious death jokes, and then you didn't show up for your session the next week

because you'd jumped off the Brooklyn Bridge.

I don't think I would jump off the Brooklyn Bridge.

I think I'm OD on painkillers kind of suicidal.

Not that I'm suicidal.

I think I'm more 'suicide by gang' type.

What?

So, I'd rob a dangerous drug dealer with

a prop AK-47 and go down in a blaze of glory and then when they're searching my

bullet-riddled corpse for the missing coke, all they'd find on me is a

bound copy of my screenplay about ghosts and butt plugs.

There's a new Indian place in our delivery radius.

Sweet.

Get me... butter chicken and a fuck ton of garlic naan.

Barely eaten anything all day.

Landscape Redux: Stay Focused with Doug McKinlay - Duration: 11:16.

Hi I'm Doug McKinlay

and you're watching AdoramaTV.

Now it's awesome

we're in London's Hampstead Heath.

It's a great spot for Cityscapes as well as

catching all that autumn color.

It's also a good spot for doing a Landscape Redux.

Now we haven't looked at Landscapes

in quite a while so let's do a revisit.

I suppose the first question I ask is;

what is landscape photography?

I know it's a bit of a loaded question.

For me personally I don't think landscape

pictures necessarily need to follow

any set of rules.

One description states that landscape photographs

should typically show the presence of nature,

often free of any man-made obstructions.

Now it's that word 'often' that gets me.

I think that we can expand the landscape.

We don't necessarily have to have just

trees or rivers or mountains

but we can include a bit of city

and people even I think we should open it up a little bit.

Don't get me wrong I love the classic

way of taking landscape pictures,

in fact I do them all the time but I also love

the way that landscape photography

has gone past a pastoral kind of scenes

into Urban, Cityscapes, Beach shots

whatever? Now what's right or what's wrong I'm

going to leave that debate up to you guys

but for us today we're going to look at a

few laws on how we can improve our

landscape pictures.

Of prime importance

before any landscape outing is planning.

I cannot emphasize how important this is.

It's the making or breaking of your

pictures. It's everything from the time

of day, the season even? Making sure

you've got the right equipment,

keeping your lenses and sensors clean,

and crucially knowing your locations. Now

you cannot leave locations to chance.

Let me repeat that.

You cannot leave locations to chance.

Finding those sweet spots is usually

a matter of good research.

Google Maps, word of mouth etc.

Ordnance Survey maps are great for topography

and trails. Now once you've found these places then

you got to record the times of day,

the direction of light, the times a year etc.

and then you've got to keep going back

over and over again to get those great

pictures. It's a bit of a slog but it's worth it.

Cityscapes, same thing

Lens choice is the lifeblood

of landscape photography. Now I would say

that most landscape pictures are shot

on the wider angles of 21mm and

24mm or 50mm

but don't forget there's longer lenses as well.

Now I'm a little partial to the long lens

landscape. I just love the way it

compresses the scene.

I just think it's got a really quite cool feel to it.

Okay so I'm going to get a few still shots here

of a really good scene behind me the

autumn colors really working well

but the sky is a little bit,

kind of the difference

between the light

it's quite a lot so I'm going to add a graduated neutral

density filter to try and even the light

a little bit.

This is just a Lee filter

setup for the grads.

Will mount it onto the tripod of course

to give us that stability we need

and we'll go from there see we get.

Now there's two things

that I'm always banging on about.

If anybody's watching previous videos

and they are;

use a tripod when absolutely necessary

or when necessary

and shoot in RAW.

So I think for landscapes

we're really looking for the

stability because we're going to shoot

at our lowest ISO setting a hundred of this

camera; Canon 5D Mark III

so I want stability,

so I'm going to set the pot up

and get an idea where I'm going to go

and I'm going to use a long lens on this one.

This was going to be a long lens landscape.

Make sure it's locked in place,

everything's tight.

We got our our carrier for the graduated

neutral density filters

and then I'm going to,

first thing I'm going to do is

I'm going to just check the light

and I'm going to want to,

I'm going to want to shoot around f/11

I think for a lot of depth of field

so I'm shooting manual

and I'm going to slightly under expose a little bit

just to help bring those colors out a little bit.

Now once I've got my my compositions

where I more or less want it

and the light,

the exposure set correctly.

I'm going to pop in a grad filter.

This one is a 2 stop grad and pop

it in the carrier and then we're going

to adjust that filter by bringing it up

and down on making sure the dark

the dark point comes across the tops

of the distant trees and brings the sky down

just a little bit and I'm going to set

the driver at two seconds,

so that I don't have to touch the camera after

I press the shutter button.

Now I could lock the mirror up as well but I haven't

done it right now

and when I take the photograph

I'm going to cover up the eyepiece just with my hand

just to dispel any kind of light coming through

the back. I'm going to have a look at it

and I'm going to think at the back of

the screen and do I need to adjust

a little bit and I think I do, so I can pop

that back up a little bit so I can

adjust my, adjust the filter

and the exposure

and adjust the composition where I have to,

making sure making sure

everything's focused. One thing I forgot

to say, I'm going to pop the autofocus to

manual focus, bringing that filter back in place,

cover up, take another shot.

Have a look at it.

Looks good. Check the histogram

and it's a RAW file

so from there I'm going to get in the

computer later and I'm going to adjust

the color, the light etc. to make the

picture look like I see it

and from here we're going to move closer.

We're going to use a wider angle lens.

I've got the Lee filter graduated rig on

again and I'm going to employ

going to go back to the 3 stop,

the 3 stop filter stuffed in my pocket

and we're going to stick that

into the filter holder

and we're going to adjust that.

Now the great thing these filter holders

is you can move them around.

It's fantastic, adjust it to the angle of the Sun really

so I'm going to stick it in there.

I've already set up my my exposure

and I'm going to adjust the brightness

of the sky in the background.

Okay it's just a little underexposed

so I'm going to just change that a little bit.

Reposition the grad.

Remember the cameras set to a two second timer

so I don't have to use a cable release

I'm a firm believer in trying to get as much

of your image finished in the camera

rather than the computer but there are

times when the computer is a real

fantastic tool

now I'm thinking Lightroom here.

Now we're using these graduated neutral

density filters and even though

we're trying to even the light up sometimes

it's a bit too much, so I sometimes

what I'll do is instead of using a heavy-duty grad

I'll use quite a light grad now

and then finish it off in Lightroom.

Now Lightroom has this built-in

graduated filter that can be a great little tool.

It works really well when you've got subjects

or parts of subjects in your image

that are poking into the sky like trees or

mountains etc. because a graduated

neutral density filter

has no way of knowing

the ups and downs

and the poky uppy bits

of trees so that'll just

darken that as well.

So if you use a grad filter

it's not quite as heavy and then

bring that into Lightroom

and then use the Lightroom grad

to try to even that out

and the great thing about the Lightroom grad

is within the construct

of that graduated filter,

there's a shadow slider.

Now the shadow slider if

you take it to the right

will lighten up the shadows

so all those pokey bits up

into your picture

you'll tend to take a lot of the shadow out

and not affect the sky,

it's a fantastic tool

and something you should really look into using.

Now we really haven't talked about

composition. Composition is a

never-ending debate, argument

whatever you want,

there's many different ways of looking at a scene

and composing it.

Now one of the most popular compositional

rules of course

is the rule of thirds

where you break the picture or the back

of your camera up into a grid pattern

of a three by three.

It's a good rule but I don't think that every picture

has to follow a certain set of rules.

You need some flexibility,

the composition should not be so set in stone

that you can't

find out ways of taking the photograph.

You know one of the biggest issues

I see with landscape photographs

is that photographers

especially those first starting out,

try to get too much in a scene.

Their eyes are bigger than their stomachs.

Remember less is more.

Now it takes a lot of practice

to create that eye where you can start

to see what's most important in the scene

so the only way to hone your skills

is to really

just get out there and start shooting

lots and lots and lots and lots.

Only by doing this will you start to really

understand how landscape pictures work.

color it's not the only spectrum

for landscape photography.

Don't forget black and white too.

Black and white almost seems like the natural

home for these kind of images.

Just look at the work of Ansel Adams for instance.

So when I'm photographing

a landscape scene,

I'm not just thinking of a color

image but I'm also thinking

about black and white image

and this is where some

of that's built in software

for your computer really works well.

Now I personally use

Nik software Solar Effex Pro 2

and I think it's a great tool

for making really standout

black and whites.

The Best Ever: Breakup Lines 💔 - Duration: 5:57.

- Yes!

And then

you turn around

in your Louboutins

and you walk out of there and you never talk to him again.

Do you hear me?

You don't talk to him again.

- Hi, NaturallyCurly world, I'm Gerilyn.

- I'm Leslie. - It's Grace,

and this is the best ever-- - The best ever--

- And this is the best ever--

- Bum-bum-bum! - -break up lines.

- Break ups are always hard, man.

They're no fun and,

honestly, half the time when I start dating someone

I'm already thinking about how horrible

the break up is gonna be.

That and every time I start dating someone new, I'm like,

"Oh no, oh no.

"This means eventually I'm gonna have to break up with you,

"because I'm pretty sure I'm not gonna marry this person."

Break up lines.

I'm typically very honest

and I prefer to do things in person.

But typically what I use is,

"I need to focus on me.

"I can't do this right now because I'm trying to

"accomplish something."

Basically saying I don't have the time for you

without saying I don't have the time for you.

But what I really mean is I don't

want to spend my time with you.

- I, like many of you out there,

have been broken up with.

And I've also been ghosted.

And both of those things are trash.

Sometimes you just need to know

if you did something wrong.

Was your hair out of place at a

social function that you were both at

that really got under that person's skin?

Or if you stink?

You just need to know.

- For me there have always been

three types of break ups.

One, there's the guy who

you dated for three weeks and

you've both mutually decided that

you kind of are over it.

So you kind of just stop talking.

- If I'm being real,

there are times where maybe you don't want to be

super honest or maybe you shouldn't be super honest.

I can think of a very specific guy

that I had a summer

fling with.

Looking back I regret it.

- I know that it's difficult.

I've been in that situation where I've

had to be the person to break up with another.

And in order to

preserve those feelings for the other person

I have not said what was truly on my mind.

- Then there's the second kind of guy

who you've been dating for a while

and you can't just stop talking to

because that would be trash.

- He always smelled like Whataburger.

And he didn't even work at Whataburger.

And I like Whataburger.

I'm from Texas, y'all.

I love Whataburger.

- That guy, I think, when you're on good terms

with somebody and its just not working out,

you just have to be honest with them.

Or

honest in a way that's also nice.

- He just always smelled like the oils

that those burgers and fries are made in.

- It's better for you to be honest

with the other person that you're with

versus telling them something

that you pull out of a bucket and throw at 'em,

and then leave the relationship.

- It's hot all year round in Texas.

- And then, there's the third guy.

The guy

who is

trash,

and you don't know why you started dating him,

and you know you're better than that,

and he treats you like dirt, okay?

- I've had hard break ups where I've been

brutally honest and that other person

has been brutally honest with me and

I've actually grown from those types

of break up experiences because

it's made me a better partner to my current bae.

Hey, bae!

- If somebody hurt me,

I definitely wanna have that face-to-face conversation

because I want to see them,

I want them to see me sad.

I want them to feel the pain.

- Sure, if you don't like being honest with people

you can always ghost 'em.

But let's be real.

That's awful and it hurts and you should not be doing that.

- If I'm the one breaking up with somebody,

I feel like I should give you that much respect

to show you that, hey, I still care

even though this is difficult and

it might not work between us.

- In that case, this is what you do.

You open up your iTunes,

you go to your music on your phone.

You go

to Lemonade.

You go

to Don't Hurt Yourself.

You walk in and you start playing this song, 'kay?

And you just stare him down,

'kay?

He knows that he's trash.

He knows because trash men

always know that they're trash men.

- And the end of the day, try your best not to ghost.

And even better, if you can, be honest.

Just saying.

I'm trying to help you not be a trash-can person.

- This has been a pep talk.

This was really about breaking up with the trash man.

The other men are easy.

They'll understand.

The men that are hard to get away from

are the manipulators,

the people who think that they

can keep you when they cannot.

So you better leave and you better

play Beyoncé while you leave, okay?

Okay. (sighs)

- That is my best ever way to break up with someone.

- What's your best ever break up line, y'all?

Let me know in the comments below.

I'd love to hear it.

Has anyone pulled this Beyoncé move?

Cause I sure have.

- We make these videos every Monday,

so don't forget to like, share, and subscribe.

See you next week, bye!

Does the Biblical Teaching on Homosexuality Inflame Violence? - Duration: 2:16.

Doesn't the Christian position that homosexuality is sin inflame violence

against the LGBT community? Now, there are at least three reasons why I don't think

this is the case. Here's the first: The view that homosexual behavior is sin has

been around for like 2,000 years and in fact, much longer if you consider Jewish

teaching. Has there been 2,000 years of violence against people who engage in

homosexuality? Now, of course there's obviously been violence against these

people at times, but the burden of proof would have to be on the people who claim

it's because of the Christian view that people have attacked homosexuals. You'd

have to show, for example, that because of Jesus' is teaching on sex and marriage in

Matthew 15 and 19, for example, that people are committing violence. You can't

just assert that and think that makes it true. Second, if the Christian position

that homosexuality is sin inflames violence, why doesn't the Christian

position on other sexual sins also inflame violence against those sinners?

Of all the religions out there, Christianity holds that there are many

people engaged in sin: fornicators, idolators, adulterers, liars, thieves,

swindlers, you name it. Yet there isn't an epidemic of people out there beating

other people up because they think the Bible says those people are in sin. And

third, normal healthy people don't just commit violence against others. Look, I

mean I hold the Christian position that

homosexual behaviors is sin, yet I've never committed violence against anyone

in the LGBT community nor have I ever been tempted to do so. Now, why is that?

Well you might say, "Well Alan, you know, you're not crazy. You're normal.

You're a well-adjusted person." Okay, and that's right. Normal healthy people just

don't commit violence against other people because simply they just think

they're wrong. Only people who are not mentally healthy do that, which goes to

show that the Christian view – in itself – does not inflame violence.

Hookie Episode 3 – Questions + Answers - Duration: 9:30.

Hookie Episode 3, Welcome!

You always send us many questions about how we entered TÜV/MOT modifications

which battery we use and where we get our inspiration for our builds

that's why we figured out a faq would be a pretty

good idea so we have organized this into these topics

I wish you much fun with the following clips.

How much you have to spend and how much can you spend?

This always depends on the customer. I think a build

starts with us from 10,000 to 11,000 euros. now many will say

rather a complete custom build or a parts conversion?

That's also a good question david. that's always depends

on the motorcycle. for example a complete tank or a

complete tail, so the whole design should be changed then it is

of course not as complex as a complete custom build where the engine gets repaired

where the frame must be powdered, etc.

but basically the cost of a complete custom build is relatively simultaneously to every motorcycle.

That's why you can say a

complete custom build with engine repair starts from 17,000 to

18,000 euros. I'm talking now synonymous of motorcycles with a large cubic per inch like 650 cubic

and upwards. everything thats below you have to look

in personal conversation what that budget is by yourself. if you

want much and I know many want much and want a

completely different motorcycle that is very expensive and that costs

accordingly budget

Can you describe the process from receipt of the order to completion?

It usually starts that we get an e-mail from our

future customers or a phonecall or a visit

this starts with a very personal conversation so whether

the respective already have special ideas off his motorcycle how it should look in the end

or just bring a reference for example motorcycle what we

already build. We will determine this together in the first meeting

because it is also very quickly determined how is the budget of the customer. what you would like to spend.

After the first conversation you usually get

an detailed offer from us. there is then in principle all listed what we

do at the build. after the bureaucracy is ticked off

it gets actually relatively quick to get the base bike. this takes

always two to four weeks to complete it until you find something suitable

and as soon as the base bike is arrived here it gets disassembled until

to the rolling chassis so engine, frame, wheels and fork stay in it

and then it goes over to the rough construction. rough construction always needs a month to two months until the

rough ideas sit until all components are made, rear modifications

frame modification are finished and after the rough construction the motorcycle is complete disassembled

to the last screw. the engine goes to the engine repairer

Carburettors get repaired internally here

parts that become painted go to the painter, powder coating, sand blasting etc.

that will take another month to

1 1/2 months until then all parts arrive back here in the workshop

and then the final montage starts - that's a lot of steps

there is a lot that can happen there too, so it's usually so that all parts we get

are not plug & play so you have to adjust a little bit.

sometimes you have to order another part there another

cable or build a cable itself, etc. that takes time again maybe

a maximum of four weeks and as soon as the motorcycle is final

of course you have to setup and than test ride. just when the engine is new you must do

a lot of experimenting and setupping.

this also take almost a month to complete and as soon as the motorcycle is ready it will

presented to the customer and delivered to indonesia or wherever.

What is your favourite Build so far?

my favorite build aesthetically is the

Black Mamba I prefer black motorcycles I prefer on the contrast

between black gloss and black matt this is my favorite from the aesthetics

in terms of performance, of course, it's my Sportster the tasmanian devil

So every motorcycle we have built so far is also my favorite

all are monochrome I believe that you can see in our

builds that we are not so in color so I mean the tasmanian

Devil is very colorful I would say with the red inscription and

in terms of performance I really like my Sportster the best.

Who are your references?

References, so if it means inspiration then they are very different

sources where I get my inspiration this is on the one hand typography

i'm art lover, music inspires me, my surroundings

the garage inspires me, especially my wife inspires me

christoph too david, niclas i think it is the daily environment that is

my reference. my daily drive to develop inspirations and get them

Where do you get the motivation to build each bike differently?

motivation, i take my motivation out of my

inspiration to build every bike differently I have many ideas for motorcycles

As I said I'm a designer actually and it`s a brainfuck 24/7

and that also means that I somehow need the output that's why it is for me

the best output to build the motorcycles. I think I could now

somehow still 20 to 25 concepts of motorcycles purely visually imagine me.

the drive behind that is just to

push myself in the builds and to try other things

to incorporate different stylistics

to try things out i think thats really the

motivation behind it.

Where do you see your Company in 5 or 10 Years? What are your goals for 2018?

so I'm working on a goal just because we have planned this year

to going to Sweden in the group. we all want that on a NX 650 base

we are just converting three machines at the moment. I have the feeling that I am furthest

because everyone else has bought quite a bit of rubbish.

But the goal is definitely to ride to Sweden this year

of course, we want you to be part of it

we will take many pictures, we will make a video, and we will write a blog about it and

want to let you experience the whole thing a bit.

nevertheless, we also want to go back to Italy for the wildays it was

a cool event last year and it is definitely on the plan.

Glemseck we have to see if it fits in time. to the question

where we see hookie in five to ten years, I think that's a very

good question we also have many ideas for that

of course it would be stupid if I already reveal the ideas but

I can say it remains exciting in any case we will stay with the motorcycles

but we will continue to develop the theme, I believe we are known for it.

we also try to leave new influences in the scene.

I'm curious if that works, I'm curious if you like it what we do

and I think that's also a goal.

there i see hookie in five to ten years

I would like to do what I am doing right now

to build motorcycles, to work in the team and to develop ideas as free

as possible as we are doing it right now.

How do you get the changes registered at the TÜV/MOT?

like any other, we also show our motorcycles to the examiner

He decides whether it is eligible or not eligible of course

we build our bikes so that we can not get any

problems with the decrease so I recommend each of the one who

build a motorcycle talk to th eexaminer before you start the build. we often get the question

"can we do something on the frame or can we register the loop

what is possible about modifications?"yes there is a law but

of course that also a bit in the judgment of the respective examiner.

That's why I advise always for personal agreement

before you even begin. in general I can say on

mainframe hands off!
