hi thanks for joining me this is angie at chicn-scratch this is the project
we're making today and it is a gift card holder so I'm going to open it up here
now I don't have a gift card in my position right now but I do have my
buckle card so you can see they're the same size and it just slides in just
like that this is what the backside looks like and next week I'll show you
another version it's kind of the same thing except it holds something
different so okay let me tell you the supplies we've got old eyelet cardstock
and this measures four and a quarter by six and then we've got another piece
we've got two more pieces actually the little banner piece here is one in 7/8
by three and a quarter and then we've got a scrap piece here for our two inch
circle punch we've got under the mistletoe a designer series paper and
this side is really pretty too the reason I chose this side is because I
was looking for a Christmas pattern that went with the little elephant because I
love the little elephant stamp set so we're using a little elephant and then
at home with you is where I found the Merry Christmas greeting we have other
Christmas sets in our catalog right now we'll have a whole bunch more once the
holiday is released September okay so back to the supplies we've got real red
scraps that's for the starbursts circle here and then whisper white scraps so we
need a classic label punch a stitch tape stitch shape circle and an elephant okay
so let me get the simply scored scoring tool and we'll go ahead and make this
gift card holder I'm going to place it here on the simply scored scoring tool
and I'm going to place it on the four and a quarter side I like to call that
the portrait side and I'm gonna score it a half half an inch and then I'm gonna
turn it on the landscape side which is the six inch side and I'm gonna score it
at one and five-eighths on both sides so I'm just gonna go from this side to that
side parallel of each other so one in five eight
this is one of those projects that you can whip out a whole bunch really
quickly in fact this is gonna be a swap that I'm gonna be making to share with
other demonstrators not this decoration though so I'm not letting the cat out of
the bag just yet now I'm going to take my scissors and I'm going to cut up to
the score line on both sides and then I'm going to remove this section here
and then the same thing over here and then I'm going to trim that one just a
tad and trim this one just a tad so just angle cut those now it's going to fold
over like this and like that and then we're going to fold this up and
that's going to create our pocket right there so what I want to do is put tear
and tape here and tear and tape here so I'm going to get that nail and while I'm
applying the tearing tape I want to let you guys know I have a couple different
promotions over on my website I am having a summer sale on the chick stands
all the details are over on my website if you can't find it let me know I have
reduced the price substantially so all the details this is the chick stand
paper piercer stand and it helps you keep track of it and when I travel I
actually put it in the side like that so that it stores flat so yeah if you
travel I also take my extra needles with me and place them in there as well
okay sorry about that I'm just rattling on so I'm going to remove the backing to
the tear in tape and then fold this over and then I'm gonna do the same thing
here remove the backing and then fold this up over and I like to take my bone
folder and then that way that just kind of seals the adhesive okay as you can
see it gives it a natural little pocket there okay so now we're going to add the
designer series paper I knew I was going to run out of that
right in the middle of this video I have another one okay there's that we're
gonna take the banner triple punch and we're going to flag the end of the old
olive and that too is just going to go right on the front okay make sure I've
got it going in the right direction
and then add it up here to the top okay real rad I'm going to use with the
starburst punch now let's go ahead and do some stamping so I'm going to take
the elephant and the greeting and we're using the basic grey stamp pad I'm gonna
stamp the elephant first and then I'm going to turn this and stamp Merry
Christmas okay that's pretty good will cut the greeting out first with the
classic label punch and then I'm going to cut the elephant out with the
elephant builder punch don't forget if you order the stamp set and the punch in
the bundle you save 10% for the old all of them going to use the two inch circle
punch this has lots of layers and let's say we still have the whisper white
circle to cut out okay so now I've got the big shot with the magnetic platform
and a cutting pad and I'm going to cut out the stick shape circle
okay so there's our circle and let's get all of our pieces back in here I'm going
to take the library clip gold library clip clip it on to the top up there and
then we're going to build this nail so I'm going to place the old olive circle
let me find my words here onto the starburst circle and then the same thing
with the stitch circle just to place it on top of the old olive I'm going to go
ahead and place it here whoops come back here right there we're gonna pop the
elephant up with a dimensional I just had to make a Christmas project using
the elephant and I made a what was it a congratulations project what was that
last week okay so these little mini dimensionals they're so small for my
bigger fingers though I like to use the paper piercer to pick them up so we're
going to place it here and then we'll add the red rhinestones in just a minute
ok so now we're going to take the real red cotton ribbon now we do have a
thinner ribbon in Old Olive and I almost used that for this project but this
cotton ribbon is pretty fabulous ribbon so I wanted to go ahead and give it a
plug early before we get really into the holiday projects I think you're going to
really like it okay so we're just going to add the ribbon with a glue dot and
then the final step is we're going to add the little red rhinestones
okay so I'll keep my red rhinestones in a half size would mount case and it says
it here red rhinestone so I no longer have to use mighty touch to label them
and I'm just going to take my paper piercer and pick one of these up I'm one
on the right side and now one on the left and that cute I can't wait to see
the new paper in the holiday catalog in a couple months okay so there you have
it pretty cute right have a great day thanks a lot oh don't forget the chicks
tan is on sale and I'm offering double chick rewards while I'm away from my
office so check out all the details over on my website chicken scratch comm
thanks a lot bye
