Hi everybody and welcome to a new episode

in slow Swedish.

My name is Joakim

and in this series

I'm going to speak slow Swedish

but as naturally as I can.

In this episode

I'm going to talk about recent events.

That is, things that happen right now

or just have happen.

As you know, it's really hot in the world right now

and Sweden is no exception.

It's even so bad that Sweden's got a drought

and several forest fires are raging in Sweden right now.

People must even get evacuated and leave their homes.

I cannot remember that it ever was

this bad when it comes to forest fires in Sweden.

Yesterday the US president, Donald Trump, and

the Russian president, Vladimir Putin,

met in Helsinki.

Helsinki is the capital of Finland

and Finland is Sweden's eastern neighbour.

It is not very common for

the US president and Russian president to meet in private.

Last Sunday the men's football world cup came to an end

in Russia

and the winner was France.

Sweden got so far as to the quarter-finals

and Sweden hasn't come that far since 1994.

The ones that experienced the summer of '94 usually say that

it was a magical summer when Sweden won bronze.

Racing in the United Kingdom, his Thoroughbred racehorse Ameerat won the 2001 1,000 Guineas

and Mtoto captured the 1987 and 1988 runnings of the Eclipse Stakes

and Prince of Wales's Stakes plus the 1988 King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes.

His horses have also won Group One races in Ireland, France, Germany and Italy including

the Irish St. Leger, Prix de la Salamandre, Grosser Preis

von Baden and the Derby Italiano

(b. 1950 in Bur Dubai, Dubai) is the Deputy Chairman of Dubai Police & Public Security.

He is the current Chairman of the Al Wasl FC club located in Dubai.

Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Maktoum is the fourth and youngest son of the late ruler, Rashid

bin Saeed Al Maktoum (1912-1990).

His elder brothers Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum and Mohammed

bin Rashid Al Maktoum are the Deputy Ruler and Ruler of Dubai respectively.
