Waching daily Jul 17 2018

Hey everyone, this is Hailey from Cartoon Universe and I am finally bringing everyone

another Voltron theory video- it's been a while, hasn't it?

Season 6 recently debuted on Netflix, and I loved it.

It's probably my favorite season so far.

So many theories were confirmed, like Clone Shiro, where Shiro was, if Shiro would die,

and a whole lot of other Shiro things, and I could not be happier.

But sadly today I am not talking about Shiro, although oh my gosh look at his amazing silver

hair!

No, this video is dedicated to our favorite space vampire prince, Lotor, and the possibility

of him returning and his future role in the show.

I wouldn't count him out of the story just yet, and the evidence suggests that he will

still have a part to play as he tries to achieve his goal of having the perfect empire.

So let's do a recap of what has happened thus far concerning Lotor, as there is a ton

going on with him and I hope to clear up some details.

I believe we now have almost the entire story, from his past to what his true plans were.

For the past few seasons Lotor had one goal in mind- figure out a way to get large quantities

of quintessence to convince the Galra empire to stop destroying planets as a way to extract

quintessence and gather resources.

He had never been fond of the way his father ruled the Galra empire, and in some ways worshipped

all that his mother Honerva did before she turned into Haggar.

As we learned, Honerva was pregnant with Lotor when she went into the quintessence field

and was corrupted by the rift monsters.

This caused Lotor to age very slowly, but also brought about questions if he was a monster

and possessed just like his parents were.

But regardless, Lotor had never been taken seriously by other Galra due to his Altean

heritage.

When Lotor was finally given the chance to rule a colony, he tried to learn about the

culture of the planet he was colonizing and took only as much quintessence as could be

replenished.

But when Zarkon found out about this, the planet was destroyed.

All this combined caused Lotor to hate the Galra side of himself, as it was the Galra

who called him weak and destroyed the Altean part of his heritage.

Yet Lotor was persistent and did not give up after such a defeat.

Instead, he looked for other ways to get quintessence.

He started researching Altean alchemy and discovered legends of a place called Oriande.

This was where King Alfor learned to created Voltron, but this was a secret he kept to

himself.

Lotor also knew that there was a place called the quintessence field that had limitless

amounts of energy that could supply the empire forever.

The only thing that could enter the field and survive was Voltron, as it had done before

to save Honerva.

But since Lotor did not have Voltron nor the path to Oriande, he could not move forward

with this plan.

Which meant he had to resort to a more extreme plan to get the quintessence he needed.

Lotor knew that there were still Alteans alive that had not been killed when their planet

was destroyed.

He found them and convinced them to come to a hidden colony.

Generations later he began picking the ones with the most magical potential and extracted

their quintessence under the guise that he was sending them to a new colony where they

would be protected from the Galra ever finding them.

Any Alteans that were picked were of course killed off secretly as their quintessence

was extracted.

Perhaps Lotor thought he could create something to get him to Oriande by extracting Altean

quintessence, or this was the best alternative to destroying planets.

Either way, he killed many Alteans in the process.

This evidently was not what he was looking for, and his goal was still out of reach.

Then one day, Voltron showed up again, and with it a magical Altean that would be the

key to finding Oriande.

But first he would need to make a ship that could get into the quintessence field.

As we learn in Hole in the Sky, it was Lotor who sent the distress signal that led Voltron

to finding the Altean ship stuck between realities.

Lotor knew that this ship housed a comet that could create a trans-reality traveling ship,

so he made Voltron fetch it and bring it back to his reality.

The reality that the comet was from had Alteans that ruled the galaxy instead of Galra, which

when you think about it is super intriguing that the until meeting Romelle, all Alteans

we have met from the present day besides Allura and Coran have been evil.

And these guys are a very important aspect to this video, so keep them in mind.

So, Lotor got the comet and began making ships.

Yet even with a ship made from the comet, he still did not have the ability to enter

the quintessence field.

The only way this could be done was by infusing the ship with Altean energy.

And this knowledge could only be gained from Oriande.

And that is where joining forces with Voltron comes into play.

Together with Allura, Lotor manages to find Oriande, although only she gains the knowledge

of Altean Alchemy.

She then infuses the ships with Altean energy.

Of course, soon after this she learns what Lotor did in the past to try and get the quintessence

he needed, but it was too late and the Sincline ships form their own Voltron-like robot and

go into the quintessence field.

Voltron faces off against Lotron, as I might start calling it, and ultimately we last see

the robot not moving and drifting away in the quintessence field.

So that is pretty much all you need to know about Lotor's plans and his current whereabouts.

While all the rifts created by Lotron were sealed by destroying the Castle of Lions,

it is possible that whenever Lotor wakes up he could be able to make the jump out of there

and into another reality.

And remember how I said that the Alteans from the other reality would be important?

Well, what if Lotor somehow knows of their existence, and goes to their reality?

He could open a rift in between these two realities, and the Altean empire from the

other reality could invade the one we know, with Lotor as its emperor.

Think about it, the evil Alteans wanted to go to other realities to spread their version

of peace.

While Lotor wanted to rule an empire of Alteans and destroy the Galra.

He will be able to supply them with unlimited amounts of energy, so they can be unstoppable.

These two halves complete each other, and this could be the ultimate threat to both

Voltron and the Galra.

On the bright side maybe there will be a possibility of seeing Sven again!

I'm sure Shiro will have a blast meeting him and seeing a Slav from an alternate reality.

:P

If this happens, I think it would create an incredible story.

Now I do know that there are quite a few people that are upset about Lotor's sudden turn

to madness and believe he did not do enough wrong to justify being rejected by team Voltron.

And I do see the point, as his intentions (before turning crazy) were at the end of

the day good.

But from the small amount of quintessence he was exposed to when he went into the quintessence

field with Allura, it revealed the evil instincts which he always had.

And what's sad is that he basically becomes the same monster as his parents- something

which he tried his whole life to avoid, but through trying to destroy those he despised

he became no better than them.

I think Lotor is such a fascinating character because the part of him that he saw as superior,

his Altean half, is what drove him to do horrible things, even though the show depicts the Galra

as being the bad guys.

As we know, the Altean part of him was always looked down upon by everyone around him.

But the pursuit of knowledge drove him to learning about all the great feats of Altean

Alchemy, including the scientific advancements his mother made.

This caused him to romanticize Altean culture to such a degree that it would lead to his

downfall as he tried to remake Altean culture to his ideals, even if it meant killing Alteans

in the process.

Yet, he is still half Galra and was raised by them.

He can never get rid of that part of himself no matter how much he tries.

The White Lion knew this, and he was deemed unworthy to learn the secrets of Altean alchemy.

"Victory or death!"

Lotor is stuck between two worlds, and by not giving himself all to one side, he is

unable to achieve what he desires.

Perhaps he will not have to choose a side when he meets the evil Alteans.

They could give him the power he needs without forcing him to change his views.

I would not be surprised if he comes back stronger than ever with the quintessence powering

him up to a level not seen before.

Or perhaps the rift creatures will make a comeback and he will become possessed just

like his parents were.

And that, my friends, is the tragedy of Lotor, and his eventual return to the show.

But before ending this video there is one thing that has been on my mind.

We saw that Haggar successfully made it to Oriande after searching for it her whole life.

She learned the secrets of the place, and in some ways it seems to begun to heal her.

After all the horrible things she has done, it puzzles me as to why she was let in and

deemed worthy.

Perhaps she will do good in the future and will be the only one that can stop her son.

Her whereabouts are unknown, so there's no saying what her plan is.

Let me know what you guys think Haggar's next move will be.

Will she be able to overcome being possessed, or will she just stay the villain she is?

Trabajo sexual, poliamor y vida nómada - Me entrevista Vicky Dávila en W Radio | TALKS - Duration: 43:16.

The W presents... Vicki Dávila

It's 12:13pm and we have over 700 people connected to our Facebook Live

and at this moment we welcome Amarna Miller...

Porn actress, activist in favour of sex work regulation, feminist, she has worked as a producer and actress...

And we have her here today on the W because she promotes ethical porn. Welcome, Amarna!

Hi Vicky, nice to meet you!

-What are you doing here in Colombia?

I came here to give a speech on the 19th in Medellin, speaking about ethical pornography as you mention and also feminism

inside the AEFest, Festival of Erotic Arts of Colombia.

- People think that porn and ethics... "ethical porn" is a contradiction... What's all about the ethical porn you promote so much?

Well I think it's very interesting when people see a contradiction, because they don't understand that the areas that are mainly owned by the Patriarchy must be reconquered,

pornography included of course, since it's a very sexist environment.

What's ethical porn?

The definition I like to use it's not mine, it's from a north American sex educator named Tristan Taormino,

she says that ethical pornography is those where performers are treated equally, their job is paid ethically

and the environment is healthy, save and consensual.

As you can see, all the characteristics have to do with what happens behind the cameras

not in front of them, because in my opinion we can't talk about feminist porn or the representation on screen

if the conditions where we are performing our job are not worthy or fair.

- Obviously when we start talking about pornography, which is a topic that involves basically everyone either it's because they reject it

but it's something that when you talk about it, there's people that closes the door, gets mad or get moralistic

How do you perceive it? When you openly say on your interviews "I defend sex workers, I'm a sex worker".

The stigma and discrimination are huge... When they ask me about what's the worst about pornography,

I always answer that the worst part of my job is how society understand sexuality

because that is what makes me having to justify myself every second of my everyday for the last 8 years.

In the eyes of society, when you work in something related to your image is because you don't have the brains to work in something related to your intelligence.

And this is a stigma that every sex worker has to deal with in our everyday.

- How old are you... 26?

Yes, I'm 26 years old.

- 26 years old Amarna, when do you decide you want to work in pornography?

I always say I ended up in this industry by chance!

I'm a person with a high sex drive, I definitively was interested in expanding the horizons of my sexuality,

trying new things... and when I turned 18

more like a fantasy I never thought would actually happen...

I reached out to some Spanish producers, I didn't like the answers and decided porn wasn't for me and stopped thinking about it.

At the same time I was studying Fine Arts, which is the career I graduated to,

and discovered the world of photography, which is the passion of my life.

So through photography and my existing interest in sex, I started taking pictures of my friends: first dressed, later naked,

then even more and more explicit... an it came to a point while seeing those representations, I realised that was where I wanted to participate

... but it didn't exist! So I saw a niche in the market, and with that idea in mind I created my own porn producer!

When I was 19... I was just a kid.

I had no idea what I was doing and it went a little through trial and error.

The first year it was a disaster, insane... and after the first year I started working as an actress too.

As you can imagine, having control of all the situation because I was directing and producing at the same time

so of course like that it was very easy.

- You're very young... You just said earlier that one of the reason you chose this profession was because you have a high sex drive... what do you mean with that?

Well... It's a good observation, I'm not certain that my sex drive is higher than the women around me

or I was just always more excited to explore those areas.

Meaning when I said my sex drive is higher then my enviornment

I'm not 100% sure if this is a real affirmation or I just simply had less problems on showing it... You know?

I have always been very exhibitionist or perhaps I was less afraid of "what will people think about me" for being a sex worker

and also being a woman, with the double standards this implies.

- What was your first job as a sex worker, you said you started taking pictures but when it was the moment to perform for the first time... How was it?

Honestly, it was super easy...

- Were you happy?

Yes, it was great! ...

- Was it really that easy?

Yes! As I told you I was directing, it was for my own producer, it was a solo-scene... So I was by myself.

At that time I was also working as an artistic model, so it was just taking a step further and instead of being naked in front of a camera,

I was naked and masturbating... And being someone who hadn't lots of prejudges around sexuality...

It didn't imply any epiphany... It was really simple and I had a lot of fun!

- Look Amarna... Many of our listeners that start hearing out your testimony... start blessing a cross!

Some curse, other leave, some other arrive... What would you say to those who see your work as sinful, shameful, improper...?

What would you say to those watching right now?

It's a controverted topic... Everyone has their right to have their own opinion

the only think I ask for to this people is that before leaving any negative comments, they should at least inform themselves of the work

because it's very easy to give an opinion without having an idea about we are talking about, specially in sex work

where many stereotypes and stigma exist, lots of discrimination based on nothing...

On theories that have been going on since the 80's/90's but are not to date.

So among anything, I would recommend information. Before having a closed, obtuse opinion regarding this topic... look for information about it!

Watch interviews of porn actresses, prostitutes, from sex workers that are open to the media

- And to those who see it from a religious or moralist point of view...

- What perception do you have? Because there some that see you as the devil!

As a demon.. OMG!

Ok well... obviously this topics don't get along with a religious ideology...

But well, I believe that in some way - specially women - we have been told for hundreds of years how we should love, how we should behave...

How we should establish our emotional, sexual relationships... So many levels! We were completely locked up.

Trapped in an ideology we didn't choose, and for the first time after all this years we have the opportunity of empower our sexuality,

being able to do whatever we want -obviously with certain limits- with our bodies, our image, our sex.

And this is wonderful! It's a tool we didn't have for centuries...

So.. it's my body and I choose... right? We've to respect the decisions of others.

And we all have to understand, that we're all in this world because someone had sex.... It's about time that we normalise it.

- Amarna... I want to ask you about your family... Your mom, dad... I don't know if you have siblings? What do they think about what you do since you started to now you're a professional?

I'm an only child, it's just me and my parents and well I have some close aunts and cousins.

But well our family is a little small.

At the beginning... when I decided to work in pornography, obviously I faced a huge family battle.

My parents thought it was terrible, specially because they belong to a generation that believes that if you have a career, you have studies...

you must work in that, meaning: the economic and work safety are worthier than personal happiness.

And I completely disagree with this. I believe that I should do what makes me happy, it's my life after all!

You only live once, and there is very little time for it!

I've always thought about living my life through my own decisions and not through the fears of other

I believe it's something that paralyses people... Everybody is always thinking "what will my family think about...?", "what will happen if my future son..., job opportunity...?"

Always thinking in hypothetical cases...

When I believe that, obviously the future is important but we should do what makes us happy.

- There are more than 1400 people online, but let me insist in the topic that presented Jairo,

at the beginning your family was somewhat scandalised, how did you come to terms? Do you remember the day you sat down and told them "look, I want to do this, this is what I like..."

Besides that, you're an only child... they were probably hoping you became a doctor, a painter, nurse... anything but a sex worker.

Well, again this is a little stereotype because it's the same being a doctor, lawyer, painter or sex worker.

You offer a service for which you obtain an economic compensation.

The battle I'm fighting is ideological, ethical and moral.

Answering your question... I told them just as I'm telling you now, it's my life and it's me who's going to make the decisions about it.

Besides, be aware I'm a very strategic person: I've things very clear, my head on my shoulders,

I'm not living a crazy life... Oh now I will shoot porn, lasts 2 months and then leave... No.

I have a professional baggage because I work in what I work, I do it because I want to and because I'm a hard worker.

And I believe this has helped them a lot to understand it in a positive way. Understanding I'm a grown up and I know what I'm doing...

This isn't just a fase.

- Sandra on Facebook asks: Vicky ask her why did she choose this job... for money or for pleasure?

Good question! I started in porn completely as a hobby! Honestly when I started I didn't even earn money from it,

I was working for my own company so everything I earned I did invest back. So at a personal level I didn't even make money.

But after 8 years working in something, it ends up turning into work. As much as I like it...

Well let me say an example: you probably love the radio but after working on it for long it turns into a job... Same for pornography.

I started as a hobby, just for pleasure and self-discover... But after a while it turned into something that obviously was worth it, but as a job.

- There's something I'd like to know...

(...)

Amarna, what's the difference of having sex on set, with someone you don't really know for shooting a movie

and sex with your partner, who you love, in you house... no lights, no cameras.

Well it's completely different ,of course!

The moment you have a camera in front of you recording, you are performing a representation of sex

but it will never be just like the one you have in your private life. Not better or worse, just different.

When you're on set you have to be focused, you can let go 100%

you can be shadowing yourself, must know where the camera angle is, ...

So it's not something as natural as the sex you have in your bedroom,

but this doesn't mean it's not pleasurable or that you don't have fun, you just have to keep certain things in mind.

- Where stands everything about having sex with the person you love... What happens with that when someone decides to work in the same profession as you?

I think we have been taught sexuality in two quite binary ways: the reproductive role, you have sex for having kids

or the romantic role, you only have sex with the person you love and want to spend the rest of your life with.

And I believe there's a wonderful scale of greys that we sometimes miss.

You can have sex with someone you are not involved romantically but still like, just for fun and pleasure.

And I believe in my case, pornography is in that grey scale, it's not a sex radicalisation.

- (...) I'm looking through the comments on our Facebook Live, and most of the times people see this more from a moralist point of view

- They see your profession as something inmoral.

(...)

- What about morality?

Ah... it's a big confrontment... Something I deal with on my everyday...

On one side, I believe every opinion should be respected, there are many people against my work but they deserve the same respect as the ones who support it.

On the other hand, I believe that most of the people who are against it is simply because they haven't informed themselves enough about the reality of this business or industry.

BT Daily: Dangers that Bite - Part 2 - Duration: 3:03.

[Steve Myers] Loving pleasure is one of those bites that can be a dangerous one that will

take our spiritual life right down to nothing.

It's all around us in this world.

It's everywhere.

We're encouraged to love pleasure, even the advertisements for potato chips, "One is never

enough."

And that attitude pervades our world today.

The Proverbs put it this way.

When you look at Proverbs 21:17, it reminds us, "He who loves pleasure will become poor."

And it's not just talking about monetarily.

Talk about our attitude.

Talk about our Christian character.

We will be poor if this overtakes our life.

And of course, we're challenged this way day in and day out.

So we can binge on movies for hours on end.

Pleasures are all around us.

It's encouraged everywhere.

If we fall into this dangerous bite of loving pleasure, we will find the demise of our spiritual

life.

So throughout scripture, we find the antidote to this bite.

In fact, there's a powerful one that's mentioned over in 2 Timothy 2:22.

As a young minister, the Apostle Paul was encouraging Timothy to watch out for this

dangerous bite.

In fact, he gives the antidote to help us to avoid that snakebite of loving pleasure.

Notice what he says in 2 Timothy 2:22.

He says something powerful.

He says, "Flee youthful lusts."

So there's the bite.

We have to flee that bite.

And what do we do instead?

"Pursue righteousness."

So it's not just avoiding those pleasures, but we'd better be doing something instead.

So we run away from those things but we have to know what we're running towards.

So he says, "We flee," we run away, but then we pursue.

We pursue righteousness.

We pursue faith.

We pursue love, peace as well.

And he says, "With those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart."

And so, what we've got to do is look at our life.

If we're standing still or regressing, we're going to be bitten by this snake of loving

pleasure.

But when we're running away from those wrong attitudes and wrong behaviors, be sure we're

running toward those Godly traits, those Christ-like characteristics.

Those characteristics of righteousness, faith, love, purity, that's what we have to be chasing.

So take a look at your life.

Are you vulnerable to this bite?

If so, get on the move and run toward these things, toward that antidote, to taking us

down with loving pleasure.

That's BT Daily.

We'll see you next time.

(gasps)

(laughing) - Oh, shit.

- 21 years old, she's a college student.

What is your major in college?

- Drinking. - [Woman Guessing] Drinking?

- Yeah.

- You are in your 60's or 70's.

- You know them old lady curls?

Like she had rollers in her hair this morning.

- What you talking' about?

- Definitely white, like frail and skinny.

- Good luck with your college life.

- Thank you very much. - [Woman Guessing] Drinking.

- Yes.

- Bye college student! - Goodbye!

- Alright see you.

- Hi. - [Woman Guessing] Hello.

- How are you doing today?

- I love your voice.

I want to see your face.

- [French Man] But you can't right now.

- No.

- [French Man] Sorry.

- Can you do "Hey Diddle Diddle"?

- "Hey Diddle Diddle"?

- Yeah it's a nursery rhyme.

Okay how about "Mary Had A Little Lamb"?

- Mary had a what? - Lamb.

- [French Man] Lamb? - Like a baby sheep.

Okay so clearly nursery rhymes are not your thing.

- Are you wearing Old Spice?

- Uh, yes.

Why do you think though?

- I'm sorry? - Oh you smell it, right?

- What did you say? - Did you smell it?

- Oh he's definitely Latino

cause he can barely speak English.

- Could you say something nice to me?

Whisper for me?

- You look beautiful.

- Melting.

- How was your morning?

- I'll be tired today.

- Oh wait, you.

Wait, say tired again.

- Tired.

- He might be Asian.

- I think you're Cambodian.

- You sound like you're Asian.

You have an accent.

- Tall and medium body, exactly my type.

- [French Man] Thank you. - But, however,

I think you are gay.

- Wait, why do you think I'm gay?

- Because most of the nice looking guys, they are gay.

I don't know why. - Whoa! (laughs)

- Thank you. (giggling)

- [Woman] Hello. - Oh shit. Hello.

- How was your morning so far?

- I woke up and came here, basically.

- Came here.

Do you like Outback?

- Outback Steak House?

- Yep she's definitely Australia.

- Where do you think I'm from?

- Greek or Italy.

- Do you think I have an accent?

- No, mm-mm. - No accent.

- Light skin, light hair, Australian woman.

- I think you are female, I think you're white.

When I think Australian, I just think blonde,

so I'm guessing blonde.

- About 19 years old, you still live with your parents.

- Do I sound smart?

- Uh the way you said smart, yes.

- Cool, thank you.

- Smart.

- Hey.

- Hi, how's it going?

- [College Girl] Good, how are you?

- I am just great, thank you.

- [College Girl] Perfect.

Here smell me then.

- You smell like vanilla.

- Yeah I've got it.

- Oh you smells good. - Thank you!

It's Black Opium.

- [Woman Guessing] Oh. - Which is, it's from Sephora.

- Your voice and attitude is perfect for the salesperson.

- [College Girl] If you wear vanilla,

usually guys like that.

Listen listen listen!

- Oh no, uh-uh your voice is annoying.

- Oh my god.

- Listen listen listen listen, oh my god! (laughing)

This is the white chick.

She's definitely from The Valley.

- Do you like to dance?

- All the time.

Always at the club I'm the first to dance.

I get up on tables.

- Okay, slight exhibitionist.

- Definitely wanna party with me.

But you said I was annoying. - No, I do not.

- Why?

- 'Cause you're annoying.

It's very high pitched.

- No it's not!

- No it's not!

- Sometimes when I get really excited,

I just keep talking and going on and on.

I had a little headache but then

they had a bunch of drugs here

so then I just took a bunch of--

- Can you slow down?

- Sometimes my boyfriend really doesn't like it

coz out of the two of us, I talk the most.

- Do you talk like this all the time?

- Excuse me, yeah!

- Oh I mean, I was just wondering.

You sound like...

- I'm obviously nice.

- Yeah for sure, um.

- You are white and

I think that you like to show off your body.

- Booty shorts, definitely stops at Starbucks

at least twice a day.

- You are in a sorority

and you sound pretty white.

- Snookie.

Snookie, perfect example.

Bye.

- Bye.

- Oh she's wearing wedges.

- [College Girl] Yes, obviously.

- What up?

- What's up?

- [Man With Deep Voice] What's going on man?

- How you doing?

- Good I like your threes you got on.

I like your dress.

- Oh, thank you so much.

- Can you do your best bro accent for me?

- [Man With Deep Voice] What up bro?

- Oh gosh that's so low.

- I think you are African American male.

Like Lionel Richie.

(laughing)

- You live with your parents?

- Why do you think I live with my parents?

- Coz off the rip you just sound like a white kid

who probably lives with his parents.

- You could be a buff guy.

- I could also be super skinny.

- You could be like super skinny.

He's Asian, he's black, he's white, he's Islander.

He could be mixed.

- I'm seeing like a little scruff,

I'm seeing that you're tall.

White.

I bet you have like, kinda long bangs.

- Bangs?

- No you know like the skater swoosh?

- Oh okay. - Swooshy.

- How old do you think I am?

- Oh 48.

Divorced one time.

(laughter)

Two children. - Two kids?

- [Woman Guessing] U-huh.

- Wow, I'm a dad! Alright.

- Okay. - Bye bye.

- Bye.

- Hi.

- Do you think you have a unique voice?

- No, do you think you have a unique voice?

- No I think you have a unique voice though.

- Have you ever been pulled over by the police?

- Indeed I have.

- Where you just kind of minding your own business

and pulled over or--

- [Woman] So I thought. - Okay, okay.

- Do I have an attractive voice?

- Yes you do.

- Oh, would you pay to hear me talk on the phone?

- Whoa!

(laughing)

- Can you please say "I wish a motherfucker would."?

- I wish a motherfucker would.

(laughing)

- She's so white.

- I'm guessing you're African American

and I think you're probably attractive.

- I think you are the type of person who likes to spend time

watching the NASCAR on Sunday afternoon.

A little bit chubby and short.

She is doing like a labor work.

- You know who you remind?

Okay, the Long Island medium,

that's who I think that you probably look like.

Bye.

- Bye it was very nice meeting you.

- Is it okay?

- Very interesting.

I think I got the Asian guy right.

And Snookie.

- I am, I am indeed.

- Awesome, okay I obviously got some things wrong.

Were you the Australian in the yellow sweater?

- Uh, black woman.

- [Woman Guessing] Oh!

- Are you from the east coast?

Yeah, you could hear it.

- When you went Long Island medium I was like, oh.

- Maybe?

Yeah, yeah? - I'm the Australian.

- Oh high five, alright.

- Five.

Most people are very surprised to meet an Asian Australian

which was weird to me coz in Australia,

we have a lot of Asian Australians.

- The white guy with the deep voice?

I'm thinking it's you.

- It is me. - [Woman Guessing] It's you?

Okay I was right. - But I'm not white.

- That is true, you are not.

But you definitely have the like, casual skater thing going.

You even have the skater hair so I got that right.

- Where are you from?

- From Oahu, born and raised.

You thought I looked like Lionel Richie.

- Who was the frail voice?

- Me.

- I was like, it's the pedophile from Family Guy.

- Want some ice cream?

- I'm 21 years old.

(laughing)

- You get the Family Guy a lot?

Do people say you sound like that?

- No, not never but they say things about my voice

but I haven't got that one.

- The one that I thought was Cambodian,

I'm actually guessing is you

and you are not Cambodian.

- Say something.

- First he said I was Latino.

- Okay, so where are you from?

- Whoa!

- Oui.

- (gasps) Melting!

- Uh, not really.

- Really?

I feel like you would get treated a little bit better

coz they're like,

"Oh, he's just not a regular black American."

(laughing)

- So who has black man no facial hair?

- That was me.

- Oh that was you? (laughing)

- I felt you were definitely a black man with dreads.

How did you feel being known as a black man?

- I mean, it's not the first time

I've heard that, obviously.

You know, white rapper.

- See, has it ever affected your job?

- I've never been victimized by discrimination

because my voice sounds black

but that's probably because interviews are done in person.

- Did I tell you that you were working at the Sephora?

Oh, okay. - Yeah.

That was me.

I do computer programming.

Keep getting called white.

I think that's like farthest from--

Well, I mean maybe, I don't know.

- I got the short shorts right!

- You did get the short shorts right!

- And the wedges.

I think I technically got her right.

- Yeah.

- I said she's very Snookie.

(dramatic music)

What do you think of my voice?

- Are you gay?

- Yeah. - I could tell.

- Oh, you could tell.

I can tell, I can tell!

Asian man can tell!

It was nice meeting you guys.

- You got it all.

(laughing)

- Long Island, like, oh shit!

How to Make the Chantrell Simplish Quilt | A Shabby Fabrics Sewing Tutorial - Duration: 8:50.

Hi everyone, it's Tammy with Shabby Fabrics.

I'm back with another wonderful Wilmington project

this project is called Simplish by Wilmington. This

wonderful collection is called

Chantrell, and we've just released this collection and we're already getting a lot of people wondering if there's a quilt that goes with it.

The answer is of course there's a quilt that goes with this project! So I'm here to show you how to do this

very simple-ish quilt

by Wilmington. Alright, so everything is included in the download which is in the link right below this box.

You'll be able to find the project sheet, which is this and you'll also be able to find a link to our kit.

So, let's get started.

This project uses a

Ten-inch square pack, like this, and a five-inch square pack, and a strip pack as well.

Alright, you also need binding - you need your green binding on there.

So, what I do when I have

packages like this, I'm going to cut three layer cakes at a time. So I just take them right out of my pack

and I'm going to center these on my board

just like this. And you can see how these little pinked edges kind of come over my lines a little bit.

That's because these squares are just slightly bigger than ten inches

so I'm going to use my ruler and

I'm going to trim these up a little bit --

See if we can get these to stay right where they're supposed to be -- I'm gonna cut this directly in half first,

like this,

straight in half,

okay, so you can take off these little tiny edges and just take off those little pinking edges just so

that you're sure that you're right on that ten-inch mark and

you know where you're at.

Just like that!

Okay, and that's all you do with your ten-inch squares.

Just like that.

Some of them you're gonna cut down into five-inch squares. The five-inch squares that we have in the Charm Pack,

you're just going to use those as is.

So let's lay a block out. Let me show you how this lays out.

So we're gonna take a five-inch square, and we're going to take a ten-inch square that has been cut in half, and

we are gonna take a black piece into the middle just like this. All right, so let's sew these together.

Let's go ahead and stitch this and you can see how I do this. I

don't normally use pins when I sew

small things like this. You can pin this. Please feel free to pin this if that works better for you.

Today I am on a Bernina 770

and I'm using a 97 D foot.

This uses the Accu -- the dual feed system with Bernina -- I love that!

It just feeds it right through.

I don't have to worry about

the fabric moving at all. You see how clean this is on both sides.

So I'm gonna press this. I'm gonna press all my seams toward the black on this quilt.

Lett's finger, press that open a little before we give it a good press.

Alright and now I'm gonna add my big one to this.

Just like this, and again, to pin or not to pin, that's up to you entirely.

Just like that, we'll cut our thread.

Perfect.

All right.

And again, I'm gonna press toward my black. So I always leave my black facing up

when I press toward my black so I can set that seam, and then when I flip this over

that seam automatically presses right exactly where I want it to.

Just like that.

Beautiful, okay. This is your block. This is how easy this quilt is. You are going to make 36 of these.

All right. So now, when we lay these out in the quilt -- and I'm going to move stuff out of my way here --

When we lay out a row -- I have a row done for you

so you can see how this works. Let's turn this this direction.

Okay, so we're taking our blocks and we're just turning them like this and we're adding this long sashing strip in between them all.

So I have nine blocks here and I'm going to add this one to

this end right here,

so, let me put this on here.

Now this is a lot longer length than just five inches,

so for that, I am gonna pin. I want these seam allowances to stay right where I put them,

so I'm just going to put a couple of pins here. I

don't need to pin right up to my seam allowance. I can pin it back a little bit

and I'll show you why as I sew past this.

This way my foot is able to go right past my seam allowance --

or my pins, excuse me. It'll go right past my pins and I don't have to take them out as I sew.

See when I come to that I can sew right past my pin and I'm not in any danger of hitting that pin,

because I don't want to hit a pin.

But those pins were plenty just to hold it exactly where I wanted it. Okay, there we go.

This row I'm going to press this again toward the sashing -- let's move this out of the way --

all right.

So you can see on the back how I pressed everything to the black.

Here we go.

Just like this.

All right, we have a row made.

Okay, so the reason I made an entire row like this to show you guys how to do this -- this is actually my second row ---

This is my first row.

What I've done is I have

done a row and I have added

my long sashing strip to this.

Now when I put this second row on,

this was a little bit tricky and this is why I'm showing you how to do this

So we're going to take our row and as you would expect,

flops over on top like this.

So you start pinning this on

one end right here.

So I'm going to put in a couple pins and then I'm going to show you how I check

this row,

because what's really important on this quilt is that all these black sashing strips all line up perfectly

straight, like here. I don't want them offset at all.

So to get that to work

I'm gonna fold this row back half way,

if these guys will behave over here on the end --

there we go.

Okay.

And we're just going to slide this over and now I'm gonna make sure

that when I'm pinning this that these two are exactly lined up. I want the sashing

perfectly lined up and if it's not,

just give it a little tug and adjust it as you go.

But you need to watch this as you're pinning this just to make sure.

That the sashing is all going to line up. So all your rows will be perfect.

All right, so that is how you make the Simplish Quilt by Wilmington. I hope you've enjoyed this video.

If you have, please give me a thumbs up, I'd appreciate it. I look forward to your comments and we'll see you again soon.
