There's a couple of people that have said I didn't use your wire that you shipped I
bought my own in any case I took it out of the box took the tape off it and it
just all got tangled hello I suppose it will do it reminds me of the problem
years ago I had something like 80 meters of paracord that we're using to hold a
dipole up or a tree the other end of the park and I've pulled it all down pulled
all of it and it was just all sort of in a mess a bit by my feet but I knew where
the end was it was just lying like that the thing is at any point in time as
long as it's not disturbed you can pick the end back up and wide it up I'll
never forget this man who was a bit annoyed that the the paracord was on the
ground in front of him he went is this yours I went yeah and he just
picks you up like that yeah because it was almost scrapped because it got at
that moment in time it got tangled up it's a bit the same as this you see so
this is d-10 it comes on a big run and I wind off about 55 metres of it it
happens to be stranded pair you know two together it's okay they're easy to
untangle and when I've just sort of taken a bunch of d10 out of stock if you
know what I mean I take the tape off that I've put on I hold it carefully and
just take it off you know a bit at a time I mean the other way would be I
mean ice you wind you up yeah like this it's just to take the end stick it in a
vise or you know on a tree or whatever else and just wind it off whatever you
need and then stop and put a bit of velcro on it or have a bit of tape back
I to use it all up to make your aerials and it doesn't matter I mean doesn't
have to be there it could be any um you by aerial while it's not actually on a
cardboard roll that that's the way to do that Oh
this stuff I've suggested to people in the past that these little four
connectors here and you can get six wires in there and I have this guy so I
couldn't get six in I can only get five
that's another tip by the way if your field day and you you taping up bunch of
wires or or something a lot of people will naturally go all the way around
tear the insulation tape off and just wrap it around you come to do the
teardown you can't get the bloody stuff off and you can't find your knife or
whatever so what I do is I I call it a field detail I fold the end of the tape
over and I've just got into a natural habit of doing that unless it really is
permanent aha why am I making up radios that's the
next question so this here is the it's the ground plate for my new DX commander
night L ite which is a 30 2017 is any we probably get forth we put 30 on you
probably get 10 a bit like we get 15 on the 40 meter band on the classic the DX
commander but to keep the cost down I found out that even making holes in in
aluminium cost time and my what I'm doing is I'm putting six radials on each
connector one two three four five six five to thirty I'm making the radial to
knife meters long which means we'll get 75 meters on the ground which will be
great for like well 30 meters and upwards right I'll make out the elements
now blue connectors these priors are absolutely crap because I've lost my
bucko pliers and I refused to buy another pair cuz I know I'll find them I
just don't know where they are they're like a missing child so this is probably
the 30-meter element I decided I'll measure it and 20 meters gonna be four
point eight nine plus a fold back of six centimeters
or just cuz I'm measuring it now thirty point six eight plus six whatever I say
six point eight eight plus six cut the right one
20 meters four eight nine plus six four eight nine plus six
there's my pliers for eight nine plus six twenty meters four eight nine four I
label it now I've learned I've never worked 15 out what is interesting one
man if twenty meters is four eight nine plus four ninety five three hundred
divided by so 42 so up twenty eight to thirty times point
yeah okay so I've got I lost it back to a point nine three hundred divided by
twenty one point where the wallet chain 2/4 time two point nine three three
point two nine three point two nine plus seven six centimeters have fold over
that's number three six buyers so I'll do now is put a loop
six centimeters from the end so that we can connect with a special little clip
our supply so I'm not showing you right now right now I just need a little tiny
bit of heat shrink actually it's glue lined so I need a
little bit Josh just got a knee leave enough so a little clip can get it time
to burn my hand yeah I need a band the glue of course is that it doesn't have
to be overly shrink-wrapped there's a glue will catch it just got to be enough
for no more what's this 15 meters 30 doesn't need to be doing but my 20 has
evaporated I mean how can it do that there Liz why just news things
understand to disappear at my life so Roland Avenue the wire pulling it
pulling against the heat shrink I'm gonna hold the wire shut if you know
what I mean and then put the gun on it
elements made radials town he's now finding the energy to put up in
the garden I've got a hundred of these in stock but to the right the Houston
Qaeda card said any I'm quite keen to take you one on holiday see I took the
classic last year anyway I've made my radios have made my elements for the
light and put off the soldering station and I'm not tidying up about that
because it's Saturday I'm going if I can have a sleep I'm gonna have a
courage tonight watch the telly so I'll see you all soon adios
