Waching daily Jul 23 2018

In this video, I'm going to give you a roadmap for how you can plan your

business or even your life. My name is Eric Siu, I am the host of the weekly

entrepreneurial podcast Growth Everywhere and the daily marketing

podcasts Marketing School which I do with my buddy Neil Patel and I create all

this content to help you individually and to help you level up your business

so let's take a look at my screen. This is what we call the Constraints Mind Map

so for example a couple years ago I was like well you know how do we get Single

Grain to 100k a month in monthly recurring revenue and your goal could be

maybe a constraint is your life is maybe you want to buy a car or maybe you want

to buy a house for example you can just do that just put the main constraint in

the middle and for our constraint for the business was how do you get to a

100K or so. You can see that the sections that say that are in white

these are the core issues so it's not specializing it's not having a well

optimized marketing funnel it's customer retention issues not having a

unique blog not maximizing the use of YouTube channel referral partners losing

deals all this different stuff we put in here right and then from there you can

see that after the problem we talked about the vision like what does this

look like after it's fixed okay so we put referral partners are operating like

a machine and bringing us in recurring revenue that stacks so we want revenue

that continues to stack over time just going on this example over here

you can build on it from there it's like okay if we want to achieve this vision

in terms of referral revenue kind of stacking on each other to operating like

a machine what do we need to do okay we need our referral partners to send us

all the contracts we need to keep track of all the conversion rates we need to

help audit their sales process we need to help them be more successful. Then

afterwards after you have these tasks basically you just continue to expand in

this mind map then you start to have this big web of stuff to do and what was

amazing was I started looking at this I didn't look at this for a while but we

after we did all this stuff all this all these things magically happened okay and

then I built one for a software business then I'm involved with and we did

this for one of the other blogs that I'm involved with as well and we have hit

our goals right for the other blog we hit our goals and for another mind map

that I did and hopefully we do it also for the software company too. Doing

something like this allows you to kind of plan out what you need to be doing

next like it's like okay these are the issues this is my vision and then this

is what I need to do just taking a look at this makes things a lot easier for

you. I can tell you our core issue here of

referral partners losing deals this is a big deal for us at that point we decided

to pivot and say okay we're no longer going to just refer everything out we're

gonna take the work internally we're gonna do a better job we're gonna hire

better people and then the clients are gonna stay a lot longer we're gonna be

able to upsell them we're gonna be able to do an amazing job and people are gonna

know us more we're gonna get more clients that way. I didn't intend to

kind of build that up again but we did and now things are better than ever

we're hitting record numbers over and over and over couldn't be more happier

with the team I'm so excited to just come into work every day and that's

because we made a conscious decision to define this and then figure out what we

needed to do next so you can do this again for your

business for your life whatever it is exactly hopefully this helps let us know

what you plan to do with this constraints mind map to help you with your

life to level up and don't forget to hit subscribe we're also gonna find you come

get you I'll see you tomorrow

📝 Steam Phunk - Hometown (feat. Carrie Lane) (Herrin Remix) Lyrics

Why'd I ever leave my hometown

Why'd I've ever had to make everything so hard?

When everything was simple

Before, I wanted so much more

Why'd I ever leave my hometown?

Some things, they never change

Sometimes they should and some day I'll go back

Yes, some day I'll go back

Oh, no, no, not too soon

But I won't forget and some day I'll go back

Yes, some day I'll go back

To my hometown

To my hometown

(Why'd I ever leave my)

To my hometown

(Why'd I ever leave my)

To my hometown

To my hometown

To my hometown

Why'd I ever have to grow up?

Why'd I ever had to go and find my way?

Had everything I wanted, before

I walked out the front door

Why'd I ever leave my hometown?

Some things, they never change

Some times they should and some day I'll go back

Yeah, some day I'll go back

Oh, no, no, not too soon

But I won't forget and some day I'll go back

Yeah, some day I'll go back

To my hometown

To my hometown

(Why'd I ever leave my)

To my hometown

(Why'd I ever leave my)

To my hometown

Ventrac Monday Morning Minute EP.05: Versatility - Duration: 2:27.

Today on Monday morning minute the topic is versatility.

Yes, versatility is a much longer topic than 60 seconds so in this video we'll

just scratch the surface and give you some things to consider. If you have

specific questions or comments drop them in the comments below and we'll reply.

First we have a comment from The Metal Butcher who says "lol who would want a

little lawn mower based specialized POS when they could have an extremely

versatile compact tractor?" Well, Metal, first of all the insinuation that the

Ventrac isn't a real tractor is kind of ludicrous. It's a real tractor obviously.

Also don't get snippy because it's a better lawnmower than your compact

tractor will ever be. It's just reality. This comment represents the first

hesitation people have with versatility and that's that the Ventrac isn't as

versatile as a compact tractor. The second hesitation people have is that if

it is as versatile and it's so versatile then isn't it just average at what it

does? Let's talk about that. The first objection is just flat-out wrong. We have

over 30 commercial grade attachments. They perform a wide variety of tasks, and

you can see them all over the internet in customers hands there's good accounts

from people everywhere to talk about the versatility of this thing. That's case

closed. This is a versatile tractor. The second

objection and the more common one. If it is versatile is it any good? All we

can say to that is every attachment we build we build to be the best possible.

If it can't go up against the competition and beat it we don't want to

sell it. So everything that we have available is the best option. Also, we've

never been in the business of doing everything. Sure there's a few

attachments you can get on a compact tractor that you can't on a Ventrac. Just

like any other machine this isn't the machine for everybody all the time, but

what it does do, it does really really well.

Networking Tutorial #1 - The ISO-OSI reference model - Duration: 11:24.

Hey guys and welcome back to the networking series

Today will be talking about a very important topic. More specifically the ISO-OSI reference modell

ISO means International Organization for Standardization

The ISO is declaring standards and OSI is the name of this wonderful model, that I'm showing you right here

OSI signifies Open Systems Interconnection and I think they named it like this because ISO-OSI is kinda funny

So what is this ISO-OSI reference model?

We got an idea by the ISO how to construct the internet

So, we want to create an application in the general case

But in networking, we have to make sure, the bits we are sending - Basically everything we send and save on our PCs are bits - get from our PC to a destination server

And this will be handed through those 7 layers

Let's start at the bottom

What is the bit transfer layer (Bit-Übertragung) doing?

This layers cares about the bits and how they get from my PC into my transfer medium. But what is my transfer medium?

Basically my Cable, my WiFi or bluetooth. All of them are transfer mediums and they have to be specified

There has to be a standard, which is says how to encode the bits onto the line

And that's what this first physical layer is doing, the bit transfer layer

So, in the last video I told you we are having Service Access Points

This first layer allocates me Service Access Points, which means that I could tell the first layer to put the bits onto the line as the second layer

Meaning, the first layer is doing everything for me and as the second layer, I don't even have to worry about if I am using WiFi, Ethernet, bluetooth or whatever

It only says "put those bits onto my data stream"

And that's what the first layer will be doing then

The second layer makes sure that the data will arrive. Because of that it's called protection layer

But be aware. It doesn't make sure, that the data will directly get to the Youtube sever

In the first step, it only makes sure, that my data will be delivered from my PC to the next station, which would be my router in this case

Because that's the next station

And from my router further on to my distributor and so on

We will deal with this later on

But the second layer doesn't care, where the data will actually go in the end. So the way still has to be determined by somebody else

The second layer basically only says that the data really get from point 1 to point 2

And these point 1 and point 2 both have a so called MAC Address

So we already see, where we need it

So...The third layer doesn't have to care about whether the data will arrive or not

It is only taking care, that he data will actually go the correct way

That's why it is called the impart layer.

This layer is using this Service Access Point to say

"Hey layer 2, I would like you to send my data to the next station", which in my case is my router.

This layer declares where the has to go to go.

Let's say I have connected two LAN-Cables - yes that works - and one of them goes to a nearby computer, which I am having a local network with

And the other cable goes to my router, which I am connected to, to connect to the internet.

When I am sending a HTTP request now.

So let's say I am viewing a web site,

then the layer 3 decides, "Hey, this has to go this way"

And, yea... Something like that basically

Okay, so this layer is caring, that my data really will go the right way

From my PC to my router, my distributor, Unity Media - in my case - and so on, until it reaches the youtube server. The nearest, most likely.

And that's what layer 3 is doing.

Layer 4 is caring, that everything will be fine and ascertain it

Which means, everything gets packed in such a way, that I can say whether the data should arrive less reliable - Which would be UDP.

But we will be dealing with this in a more precisely way, no worries.

Because this is just a short snippet, of would this ISO-OSI model even is about.

And layer 4 wants to push this data between the layers.

Which means, if I...let's say I open TeamSpeak. This is an other application than my web browser.

And this layer will distinguish the different applications and allocate me the ports, so the application can use the port

In addition, it's doing some sort of error detection like layer 2, some buffering, stream control, and things we will be dealing with later on, no worries.

But this layer is like the interface to the application, so to say.

Now I kinda pooled layer 7, 6 and 5. But why did I do that?

Nowadays you think about reference models. But rules are also there to be broken.

And we kinda break up everything, so we handle the functionality like we want to.

In theory, a session is above that port layer. But separating the depiction of this session still is the decision of the application.

Which means, if I want to view facebook, it needs a session. So facebook can know if I am signed in or something like that.

This normally is done by the session layer, but on the other side it's also partly the application, because facebook also is an application using HTTP.

Or HTTPS nowadays.

And things like this can be imagined, when thinking of the session layer.

When I build up a connection to facebook or to a huge data download, this connection really should always be alive. And that should do the session layer.

That's, as I said a lot of work by the application, too.

The depiction layer isn't really about the interface, what I can see on the web site for example, but more likely things like "Is this integer 16 or 32 bits long?"

How are my devices conform with each other and things like that.

And the application layer deals with stuff like E-Mail, WWW and things like that.

And those 3 layers are often getting pooled together nowadays. You normally even only talk about the application layer, because everything kinda belongs together.

It isn't separatable that easy any more.

Layer 4, 3, 2, and 1 still are separated in a pretty nice way, but nowadays you also brake up these layers. We'll also see, where they can be split and where they actually are getting split.

Sometimes it's pretty reasonable, but sometimes it's not.

But just for you to get a rough image, what we are talking about, when we're talking about layer 1.

In this case it would be physical access.

We will work our way up from 1 to seven, so to say and will look at the common protocols and all that useful things.

So, finally to these weird things I wrote down here. You have to be aware, that the more layers you have the more data will come on your line, that you have to process.

And I want to broadcast as much data as I can.

So let's say I'm having a 100 MBit/s line. Then I really wan't those 100 MBit/s as my actual downloading rate

and want as few useless data as possible, like data, that's only there to determine the way, which in that case would be the IP, for example.

Or that are only there to determine the application, like the ports for example.

And this should be as few as possible. Data like this is also called metadata.

Yea, that's why you should care for the layers to be as small as possible. Okay...

Now, what really did happen here?

We have the data, that should be send by the application up here. Like "invoke website facebook.com".

What happens then is, that facebook or more likely my browser will broadcast this data further on to layer 4 and says, that it is using port 80, because of HTTP.

HTTPS uses port 443, but that doesn't matter now.

We just say, that we want to use a port. Which means, that we have to specify a so called header first.

And in theory, we have a header from layer 7 to layer 6 to layer 5, but we pooled them together, because it's only 1 header normally.

So we have one header for layer 4, a so called "transport header".

Then all this data will be broadcast to layer 3 and the destination address facebook.com will be noted.

facebook.com can be resolved into a destination with the use of a DNS.

And this destination address also has to be saved somewhere, because it has to be delivered all the time.

So there will be a header again.

And this data will then be broadcasted again and this time to layer 2.

A MAC header will be added there, so it knows what MAC address your router is using currently.

And what layer 2 also does, is adding a attachment to the end. Something like a CAC checksum

And this also will require additional space.

So in the end, we will have a lot of data and only this little blue box is what we really intended to send.

So this all should be held as small as possible, because it has to be transferred all the time.

Yea and that's why metadata is bad, because it slows down your speed and you want as much speed as possible of course.

Okay...so this is the rough ISO-OSI reference model. We will look closer at the single layers later on of course.

So we will start at layer 1 and work our way up to the top.

And we will also have a look at the interface, what protocols are used and all of that stuff.

Yea, big theme. But basically it's all things you can use and they can be separated into these 7 layers pretty easy.

And we will contain this as long as possible.

So, that's it from my site. I hope you liked it. Please live a like, subscribe and share it. Bye

Economic Update: Millennials for Revolution - Duration: 29:46.

Welcome friends to another edition of Economic Update weekly program devoted

to the economic dimensions of our lives jobs incomes debts our own those of our

children I'm your host Richard Wolff. I've been a

professor of economics all my adult life and so I hope I'm ready to offer you

these insights into what's going on in the economy we live in and depend on and

it's all around us I want to begin today with a kind of basic lesson and carry it

through the program the problems we have economic problems we have stem

fundamentally from the particular economic system we have capitalism it's

easy to get caught up in the headlines of this or that particular policy and to

imagine that the politician speaking or the journalist or the academic really do

control in some sense what's going on they may wish to but they very rarely do

let's give some examples Donald Trump's government, the Republican administration

he leads boasted that it's going to make America great again by hitting

foreigners with tariffs and in particular focusing on the Chinese our

ostensible competitor or worse and hitting their goods that come into the

United States with a hefty tax that's all a tariff is it's a tax on goods that

come into the country from outside not at all surprising if you know anything

about the history of this sort of thing the Chinese don't stand by idly and

watch this damage being done to them because obviously if United States taxes

the goods coming from China they'll be more expensive for Americans who have to

pay the price plus the tax and the Americans will therefore buy fewer of

them which will hurt the Chinese producers by the way that's true of one

of the Chinese producer is in fact the Chinese citizen or as about half of the

stuff coming in from China, it's the product of an American company that went

over there for reasons we will return to in this

program. In any case the Chinese, surprise-surprise,

retaliated: you put tariffs on all goods coming into America, we will put tariffs

on your goods coming into China; and now the unexpected, only again if you don't

follow this material, which is why I'm presenting it to you: it turns out that

the three most important German automobile companies Daimler-Benz, who

produces the Mercedes, the VW corporation producing VW's and Audi's and the BMW

Corporation, I'm sure many of you are very familiar with them, they all it

turns out have factories they built in the United States to produce automobiles

not only for the American market, but also for export you guessed it - China,

and if the Chinese retaliate by putting tariffs on cars, which they have done,

because the government of the United States put tariffs on their goods coming

in, guess what, it hurts the German car companies because they can't sell cars

in China the way they used to, because of the tariffs the Chinese retaliated with.

Tit-for-tat. But here's the problem: China is the

biggest automobile market in the world right now, and everybody knows that over

the next 10 to 20 years the Chinese market will grow for cars bigger than

any other market in the world. The Germans don't want to be squeezed out of

that opportunity, so guess what, they're cutting back production of BMWs, VW's,

Audi's, Mercedes here in the United States, moving production to China so

they don't have the problem of the tariffs hurting their access to the

Chinese market; and guess what that means: fewer jobs particularly in the American

south, a big bastion of mr. Trump and the Republican Party's support, which

will now lose jobs, lose income, lose taxes paid to local communities because

of the reaction, the retaliation what the president said he would do, and what the

results are, the results are determined by the system that works this way.

Another example of how the system is crucial is, we're reading all about mr.

Trump's noisy activities in Europe; he's dishing Europeans, making deals with the

Russians, and everybody's shifting alliances. We used to be with these

people, they used to be with those people; it's shifting. The alliances of

capitalists are always shifting. When Russia went back to capitalism from the

USSR back in 1989, they became a capitalist country, like every other and

they're looking around for deals and alliances like every other capitalist

country and so the alliances shift but for most of us that doesn't make much

difference it's the same system it's just its players are changing uniforms

and changing numbers but it's the same game it's the same system what happens

to working people the majority will be affected by this system not by the

particular alliances among them there are of course examples where policies do

affect the system as a whole the people and not just the shakers and one example

is the China, excuse me, the Irish, the Irish parliament recently made a decision:

the government's funds will no longer be invested in any company that is engaged

in finding or processing fossil fuels. Their commitment to a future that isn't

polluted for everybody is going to be now enacted. Virtually unanimous, all the

major parties agreed. There's an example of a policy that isn't about working out

some deal among the people who run the system it's an actual real change for

most people now back to the way the system

works as if we needed a lesson well sometimes good things happen and when

they do I want to bring them to your attention you may not know the name Bob

Ferguson he's the Attorney General in the state of Washington and he just

worked out a deal and got fast food companies I'm gonna give you the list of

them to agree to something that he would have imposed on them legally if they

hadn't agreed anyway here's the thing that they've been doing that the

Attorney General of Washington Bob Ferguson says is a no-no each of the

companies let me give you the list of them cuz you know them very well

McDonald's the hamburger folks Auntie Anne's Arby's Carl's jr. Jimmy John's

Cinnabon and Buffalo Wild Wings those are the companies who signed the deal

with the Attorney General of Washington and the deal says they will no longer

write contracts with the franchisees the local people who operate the restaurants

the thousands of them that these companies run what was the deal that

these franchisees had going well you'll be interested to know they wouldn't hire

people from one another in other words if franchisee number one mr. Smith a lot

of McDonald's in a city like Seattle if someone wanted to leave mr. Smith's

McDonald's and go get a better job at another McDonald's he couldn't get the

job they had a deal no poaching they called it from one another's workers

well you know what that means it means that a worker who haven't gotten some

experience at one McDonald's would like to get a higher salary because he knows

how to do the job better at another McDonald's couldn't get such a job now

here's what I like about this story and why I tell you number one this is what's

called a restraint of trade you can't do that either people are free or they're

not and if you're free it means you can leave one job and go get another without

a deal among the employers that they won't hire you number two

those employers of the people who love to tell you about the virtues of a free

market everybody should be free to buy and sell whenever they want to except if

it's my employee looking to get a better deal because then I'll have to pay him

more to keep him because he could get a better job someplace else

so let's prevent him from getting a better job at another outlet of the

company he's learned to work in restraint of trade no free market

because it's profitable the system makes corporations work like this the system

makes employers work like this something that good people are bad people they do

what the system rewards them for and that's why they behave like this and

sure one state Washington got a few of these companies to stop doing something

so flagrantly bad for working people and just good for their profits but there

are lots of other companies that haven't signed on yet and there are 49 other

states beside Washington some of whom had do this but many of whom don't and

so you see the system works in ways like this and even if you got it to stop with

a federal law there'd be 50,000 other things that employers would be doing to

screw the people again not because they're good or bad people because

that's what the system rewards well as we wind down this first half of the

program there's a new feature I didn't know quite what to call it it bothered

me so much I knew I would talk to you about it

so for lack of a better term I've decided to call it stunning crap yes you

heard that correctly let me tell you what a mean when mr. Trump was over in

Europe this last week he attacked Germany and mrs. Merkel their leader in

particular he also attacked Teresa may the leader of Brittany attacks a lot of

folks as you've probably noticed but here's what he did he attacked the

Germans and he was the argument they buy a lot of gas he didn't get the quantity

quite right but who quibbles they buy a lot of gas from Russia and they pay

Russia a lot of money so mr. Trump had the nerve to say you're not an

independent country he said you've been captured by

Russia you're controlled by Russia because you pay them all that money and

you depend on their gas I found this absolutely stunning although most of the

mainstream media didn't seem to catch it and so I'm telling you here what am I

telling you yes the Russians sell gas to Germany and get lots of money billions

of dollars from the Germans but that's small potatoes compared to the amount of

money the United States sends regularly to the People's Republic of China and I

know this Americans seem not to want to face that here let's go through it the

United States runs a deficit it spends more money as a government and it takes

in in taxes and the way it does that is to borrow the difference from whom does

it borrow anybody willing to lend who's the biggest lender to the United States

over recent decades the People's Republic of China they own over a

trillion dollars more or less of America's public debt and you know how

they hold that money in the form of Treasury securities and you know what

the federal government has to do it has to pay interest on those Treasury

securities to anybody who owns them the biggest recipient of many billions of

dollars every year paid out by the United States government for its debt is

the People's Republic of China we are more dependent on them in this way than

the Germans are for Russian gas and oil so who's calling who dependent and

captured depends only on having a press and a public that doesn't know what it

ought to know and so allows things to be said that have no justification at all

and here's another one that's why I call it stunning crap it goes like this

those nasty Chinese people have been stealing intellectual property

technologies that we developed here in the United States they have somehow

quote-unquote stolen now let's do the economics folks

nobody stole anything here's the way it works an American company produces some

commodity and they want to sell it in China because the Chinese are the

biggest growing market in the world and they say we would like to go to China to

produce it because China has very low wages that's a wonderful combination a

tremendous growing market on the one hand and low wages so the American

companies come in and say we'd like to go

the Chinese say fine but in order to come here and use our workers and sell

to our people you have to share your technology your call you don't want to

do it don't come you want to do it that's the deal

nobody stole anything and by the way this is what all poor countries have

always done for a thousand years the United States did it with England when

we were a small poor country well we've come to the end of the first half of our

program I want to thank you all for following us on Instagram Twitter

Facebook please follow us also on our website democracy at work if you're

interested in our local groups look at action dot democracy at work dot info

and finally our thanks to our patreon community your support is crucial to

make these programs possible and we want you to know how much we appreciate it

stay with us we'll be right back welcome back friends to the second half of

economic update well I am very happy today to welcome to the microphone with

us Moumita Ahmed she is the co-founder of Millennials for Revolution which is

the new name for what was Millennials for Bernie Bernie Sanders she's a

digital campaign strategist working in Queens New York City she's also a member

of the New York progressive Action Network & of Democratic socialists of

America generally known as DSA, so it's with enormous interest that

we're going to explore what this organization is about what it seeks to

do and what that might mean for the American economy welcome very much

marina for joining me let's start with the simplest why do you

call it Millennials for revolution make sure that we all understand what you

mean by they very term Millennials who are they

well Millennials are people like me young people between the age of 25 34

generally are people with student debt and the issues facing Millennials today

and so that's the Millennials and then we're called Millennials for revolution

because we are a group of Millennials who came together during the Bernie

Sanders campaign to support his bid for presidents President and afterwards we

decided to continue the political revolution so we kept the revolution in

the name but we wanted to accept a larger movement that exists that whether

it's against Trump their resistance whether it's the Democratic Socialist

everyone that's fighting to make this country a better place to live in all

right so let me begin by asking you to tell us is it your feeling from what

you've looked at at your experience that folks your age Millennials are somehow

more progressive for lack of a better term than other parts of the age

distribution is there really a difference in the mentality the attitude

towards politics in this society is that the case and tell us a little bit about

it absolutely there's a new YouGov poll that came out that showed 42%

Millennials would like to live in a socialist world a greater percentage of

Millennials lean progressive they voted for Bernie Sanders who had a platform

that was very progressive and left-leaning than most Democrats so I

think that we do we are more progressive than the previous generation we are also

a lot more diverse so we care about certain issues that

previous generations are not as you know like great you know systemic racism like

we know that we the previous generation we've passed civil rights but the work

that still needs to be done when it comes to like income inequality and like

the prison system and how people of color and immigrants are treated how

we're institutionally institutionally oppressed or not given the same rights

as other people and the nuance of it a lot of people won't from the previous

generations do not understand because they see it as well people aren't saying

the n-word in public so that means racism is gone but that's not true like

we throw up we're like we have the largest prison system in the world and

we're incarcerated people of color and higher rates than any other races so

that's something Millennials deeply care about our group especially care a lot

about that all right this is a program about economics so I'm gonna tilt a

little bit and ask you to talk about that in a way that hasn't happened

almost for half a century in the United States people are now willing to talk

about capitalism the system that we have and largely thanks to Bernie I mean

there were other factors too but Bernie certainly did by not running away from

the label socialist to make it possible for people to begin to think and even

talk publicly tell me Millennials for revolution what is the approach of the

kind of Millennials that gather around what you're trying to do what do they

feel about capitalism the system we have before we go to the alternative is there

a position about capitalism or at least can you describe for us how capitalism

is is understood and and what people feel about it I think our group

specifically fee are pretty anti-capitalist in that we reject

capitalism as a system that to be saved or fixed I think as the

system we believe it's unsustainable because of the crises with our

environment it doesn't address the issue of climate change properly also this the

way the system is designed it is designed to like give CEOs and the

bosses more more leverage and profit over the workers and the working class

Americans who actually provide the labor to keep our economy going who are

actually the ones driving the profit they're not getting any of the profit or

that's being made by be CEOs they're making 300 times more than the average

American worker which is Inc it's an unbelievable level of inequality

that exists and capitalism only perpetuates it further which is why we

believe that since that's completely unsustainable system and you know we are

we don't believe in labels we believe in like issues and so to us like under

capitalism we don't have a health care system like we have a market health care

system and it's hurting working-class Americans so these CEOs they go in right

and they don't give any they don't give a living a living wage to their workers

they don't give the workers any rights and then on top of that they buy

politicians to pass policies to benefit them instead of the workers who put in

their labor right like the labor that increases their profit the reason why

they make profit is because people are working ok now let me turn it around the

issue of being interested in socialism the well it raises immediately questions

for me and I think for many in our audiences first what do you mean by so

what what is like you the answer the question why you are opposed to

capitalism and that's clear what is it about socialism or the kind of socialism

let's say you have in your mind what is it you

mean by that as the thing you're interested in has an alternative tell us

a little bit about that I think for us the reason why we believe in Amer so

that believe in socialism as the humane sustainable system that needs to replace

capitalism is because we believe that government should be organized in a way

that takes the that prioritizes workers and working-class Americans and people

at the bottom of the who are at the bottom of like the economic system and

and organizes our government to help those people and so we we see socialism

is just like an approach at ending you know tackling certain issues whether

it's income inequality whether it's racism whether it's climate change

currently that is not the approach currently the donor class their views

are being taken into consideration over working-class Americans so we just see

socialism as a master redistribution of like you know that imbalance like

actually balancing the scale and a redistribution of like whether it's

wealth or power to working-class Americans who we are the majority we are

the 99% they're the top 1% so you know that's

why I like socialism it's the approach it's that Marxist approach of looking at

things that's like there is an inequality issue there is a class that a

billionaire class and a working class and we need to like about work

government needs to make sure that the scales are like the it's even that's

equal as equal as it could be to help working-class people oh ok that's clear

and that's good let me ask let me push you a little bit ok here we have now a

year and a half or more since the end of the election and in the election for

people who like capitalism let's say they found at least a person who got a

lot of votes named Donald Trump and folks like you found somebody who

got more votes than anyone expected he ever could when he started Bernie

Sanders what do you think about these two as standard bearers as symbols of

which way the country could go now there were a year and a half later that how do

Millennials for revolution respond to Trump and Bernie now that we've had a

year and a half since the vote I think we are responding the way we should be

responding by electing Millennials who are democratic socialists into office

like Alexandria Ocasio and because the argument is Bernie was way too radical

and that's why he didn't he didn't win and we are proving the establishment

wrong we are showing them no like everything Bernie was saying resonated

with thousands of people especially people who never voted or weren't voting

weren't engaged but are you know part of this country just as much as all the

other people that do vote and so our response is to push people more further

to the left even to the left of Bernie on some issues and then with Donald

Trump we see him as sort of validating what we already knew about this system a

lot of people treat Donald Trump as an anomaly we don't see him as the anomaly

we just see him as a symptom of were a you know of capitalism of late stage

capitalism essentially yeah okay here's a question in a way that you may get

often I don't know used to be we would hear this question a lot and the idea

goes like this when you're young you can somehow be critical of society but

somehow as you get older you lose it and almost with age comes the loss of your

radicalism or your social criticism and you become stodgy and status quo

oriented from your vantage point where you are now do you think the Millennials

of your generation are headed in for direction will they hold on to this

in the years to come and it's a guess I mean no one knows the future but what's

your feeling is this is this deeply enough rooted that this really is a

change in what America is becoming both in its head and its actuality that isn't

gonna be faded away with time absolutely I would say I can't speak for everyone

but I would say that I started out a lot less radical in my approach to politics

than most people and I would actually most people are like me where they

supported Obama I supported Barack Obama I canvassed for him I organized for him

when I was 18 years old and I've voted it within the Democratic Party but over

time I just got really tired of their establishment politics where they

weren't addressing things that actually working-class Americans were dealing

with like income inequality like they had nothing to say about that and the

wall street bank bailouts really you know hip hit it home for me and with

climate change increasingly getting worse and worse I think more of us are

going to be looking towards a more radical approach to changing our systems

I don't think it's gonna become less like diluted and mealy-mouthed you know

I think we're going to keep becoming more and more radical as a generation

well you know I I always come to this point in our interviews where I have to

apologize to the guests like I'm going to do with you that we've come to the

end of this section of the program and I really want to thank you for joining us

The ''gurisma'' is not working

it's too dark, let's make it morning

maybe we go to the New city and for this city we make it daylight

I think it's a great idea honey

you' re so good on ideas

Yes i'm very good i know

And you can do magic, can you do magic?

Yes i can do magic

Because you do magic

Yes, because we have Fotis out there and we can make like this and it becomes day!

''It's a kind of magic''

With one, with two, with three

Ahaa

Much better

Magic

Magic just happend

Aa much better baby

Yes baby

Now aa yes!

Greek summer

Now yes, you can see the Old town, so let's do this by day

eee

Hallo and welcome to Rhodes

Welcome to Rodos

How do you do

What do you make

How are you? Welcome to Rhodes one of the best greek islands one of the biggest greek islands

we are so happy to bring you here because

we get to bring our selfs too

And we don't wanna go

It's so exiting because we are at the city of the knights

and this is really romantic really powerful

because you can feel this energy the knight energy all around the Old city

Yes, you can see the Wall, one of the most well preserved medieval cities in the world

Because it's really old like two thousand and four hundred years!

When you come here you can fell all this different energy because it's

really different from all architecture you can see in Greece

from what you saw all ready and what we are going to saw you

because it's not like the Ancient Greece

it's like: when the knights came and they took over the island they built there own stuff

the castle stuff

you know like the knights

It's like trip in time, so unique, you must see

Yes!

When you walk around here, you can really fell the energy and you really want to hold a sword or something

fell like the knights are here, you wanna wear this big dresses and like feel it

can you feel it

can you feel it

I think you would be a great knight if you came with your sword and maybe fight over me with somebody

pick somebody

pick somebody and fight for me like a really knight

Those was a good times

Yes

You know, you got a sword whoever annoying you cut his head

that's a solution

And i can seat here with my big big dress and with my corset not breathing

it's like that

and just watch two guys fight over me

I think it's better now

Very good fantasy for me, good job

What else was supposed to be placed here re baby

So here was also supposed to be placed the Kolossos of Rhodes

This ancient miracle of architecture

that is considered to be included one in the seven Wonders of the World

and we don't have anything left

From that statue

Yes

And it was really huge like the statue of Liberty they say

And they're considered to rebuilt it but it's quit expensive

took about twelve years to make then

How they make it how did they do it

i mean they didn't have any machines or any...

Lifts

Yes

How did they pick that up

How

it's really a miracle

Arabs also help them i think

and it's considered to be the trademark of this island

even though it dosen't exist

Yes, some drawings that's all we have i'm sorry

But we know it was there, we have the drawings

We know

We'll show you the place were its two feet-legs of Kolossos where standing

suppose the tradition says

and we'll show you, in Mandraki

you wanna get started, you wanna ''ponirouli'', you can't help your self

Ok then it's good to subscribe

Let's go around the Old town!

Let's go!!

So you can see all the little shops are here

Little shops all over the Greece

Everywhere in Greece are the little shops

and little trains remember that, because we told you

This happens basically all over in Greece but here the background changes

because it's more of the knight thing but it's the same

And so this is the street of knights

as you can see

and we are gonna walk the whole street just for you

and at the end of street of knights you will find

the palace of the Grand Master!

This id the ballroom they use to dance here

padam, padam

you wonna dance ?

So here we are, we have to tell you something about this video

because we're not alone here we are with our children

so some times we get suppurated

one's goes to the castle then the same one goes to Akropolis...

Guess who always goes to the castle alone

who walks this streets alone and the steps, guess who

somebody that doesn't need to be refreshed all the time

I need to be refreshed all the time

'' me eheis xehteosei''

Thank god for Coca again thank you Coca Cola who refreshing us

Anyway this is to make a long sorry stored

yesterday we when in Lindos

and in Lindos there is this magnificent Acropolis

this ancient temple of Athina on top

Was it good ?

Guess how many stairs it has to go up and guess who went there alone

Was it nice ?

You wanna see ?

Yes!

Since you didn't came

Yes!

Take a look

So Sissy wanted to relax and she didn't wanna come with me, you know where ?

to the Acropolis

Oh yes we're going up there 100 feet up

so we'll have to walk and leed in through

it's over the town of Lindos and like ''akrivos apo pano'' you can see its Acropolis

It's similar to the architecture of the Parthenon they say

but i say that we'll go there and check, what do you say ?

i said say three times... this is awful

Yes we made it

i think it's open until eight

it's like forty five minutes so we made it

and if you have maybe some trouble walking

you can use a little donkey

i don't know if it's a good idea, i don't like to be on top of animals but it's a solution

you can pick up

and of course some more stairs

Ok we got up we're inside of temple in the Acropolis us you can see

i'm kind of exhausted

Catch my breath

Ok you wont belive the view from up here

you wont belive it, you wanna check ?

Sissy you missing all the best part...

Do you like it here ?

Do you whan say something for the video, do you like it here, first time in Greece ?

first time in Grecia ?

Greece, first time ?

You ?

Yes!

Me, we too, first time

you like it ?

Yes, yes

Ok, visit my Greece!

Ok say hi!

Hi

Thank you!

We're ready!

And what it's the best time to go for a walk down town ?

The sunset

because the sunsety color really makes us look better

"Ilivasilemati"

You know iliovasi@@# ptou ah ?

Is that

Ok, so, thank God we rend a car!

Hallelujah!

Thank God because Rhodes centre is really far away from the Hotel

Quit a big island so you have to rent a car

Where is the Hotel here

No connection

No relationship, very far away

Yes, yes, it's complicated

Are you ready baby ?

Hmm

You want me to drive you to the centre ?

I hope the car you rent it dosn't go very fast because the kids are inside

Be careful

I will... YOLO

On our way to Rhodos

on our way to Rhodos city... Rhodes

I don't like it it's very hard to say Rhodes

it's like the road you know this road, this road many roads

Why don't we say Rhodos

Rhodos

This is my suggestion...

"Idou the Rhodos Idou the pidima"

...to my country

We're going to Rhodes centre, down town

where are the... where all the little shops are

the restaurants and the bars, the wine bars

Ah you are the one who knows about the New cities i know about the Old cities

Yes but the New city is what, the shops and the restaurants ?

or are there is something else to see ?

I don't know!

We'll see

We're never being to Rhodes before

but we asked you where to go and when you are saw us on Instagram where we were going

you all told us where to go

so now we know where to go, thank you

what else ?

Ahh

Ok Fotis

This gup

for you it's all yours

Drone put some drone

Yes, put some drone

Here we are at the...

the Wall

Ah?

and Mick just fell asleep at the car so we wait for a little bit

for him to wake up!

We just enter the Old city, we'll saw you around a bit

as long as there is light

Romantic

Romantic

Ah romantic you like romantic stuff

Yes but we're with the kids here

No romance

Just Old city

Baby

the Old city os all old ?

all of these are old, that is the question

I think, yes

and here where is the bank it was old and here where is this it was old ?

All is old

All is old

All is old

Ok!

That was the question

And the floor was like that back in the old days ?

I don't know everything i'm young i;m not old

I just asked you because you're so wise!

I will tell you a secret

when you come to the Old city don't wear heels

it will be your life very difficult i'll saw you

see, hmmm

Very difficult to walk listen to the Sissy

Sissy knows about heels... she never wears

Don't wear

Today i wear a little bit but it's platforms so it's safe

don't wear here heels, no way

You know what there should be a warning or something before you enter

"No Heels"

because how Wil you know that the floor in the Old city is like that

and you come with heels..aahh

Thank god we have our Channel and now you know

Now it's night again and we can go to the New city

because the New city has a lot of lights so you can see the old city with the lights

th Old city you can not see, you saw in the morning

Let's go

This is the New city but it's very difficult to make a ''gurisma'' because

the kids are in to the shops trying to convince us to shop

and here at the old town

i was saying tha it's mostly shopping

Yes

The new town it's mostly for shopping and maybe some Coffee

Souvenirs

Of course you can find th Spart thing again

if you feel kinky

Let's walk

Also we should tell you that today that we want it to saw you the New town and the shops

They are the ultimate knights

Aha so you are the ultimate knight

VERY EMOTIONAL INTERVIEW – Service Dog Dies After PetSmart Stay - Duration: 27:52.

Drew's Assistant: I'm just adjusting the lighting.

Assistant: You're not gonna have Stella with you?

No.

I didn't think it would be appropriate.

I don't know. It's not that kind of vlog, I guess.

I also don't...He just had the passing of his dog.

I don't want it to be like, you know, here's my dog.

Trying to be sensitive to his situation.

He shouldn't have to deal with her sassy comments.

Drew: It feels like a deposition.

Do you mind introducing yourself, like just saying your name?

Yeah, sure. So, my name's Corey.

I do acting stuff and motivational speaking in Toronto, Ontario.

I've done mostly charity stuff now 'cause I was involved in a bad accident in 2016

Which kind of put me out of commission for a while.

Do you mind me asking you what your injury was in 2016?

Yeah, so in 2016 I had a really bad fall off a fifty foot cliff.

Drew: What!?

...Where I actually ruptured my aorta, uh, major brain trauma

I was on life support for like 2 weeks.

I destroyed my spine, they didn't think I was actually gonna walk again.

It took a lot of like, rehab to be able to get to where I am now.

They had to rebuild my whole left arm, I don't know if you can see the scar there or not

Drew: Yeah.

I had like a collapsed lung, lacerated spleen, all that sort of stuff.

Drew: Dude, that's intense. How did you-? Were you hiking?

No, so like I was on a staircase and I slipped on some ice and I lost my footing

and I slid down the stairs about 20 feet. (sound of door opening in background)

And then slid right off a cliff and fell a straight 50 feet.

Drew: Oh my god. Dude.

So yeah, it was pretty messed up

But like prior to that I was diagnosed with a heart condition

Arrhythmia issues with my heart

And that's exactly why I had my service dog.

Drew: Can you just tell me a little bit about your dog Aspen?

Yeah, um.

So, she was a huge part of the family.

You know, everyone loved her.

Everyone that came in contact with her loved her.

She's a black Labrador.

She just turned four when she was still in ICU.

She was a very bouncy, healthy, energetic dog.

Like, I've only had her since New Year's.

So she was fresh to our family but we got connected to her real quick.

Because service dogs take a while to get, um Drew: Yeah.

At least, like, where I am and stuff like that. Drew: Yeah.

I had the choice to go on a waiting list for a cardiac alert service dog

For about a couple years or more

For the most part service dogs are either guide dogs or something like that

They get priority.

My condition is not necessarily rare

There are a lot of people that live with arrhythmia issues with their heart

But mine causes my syncope episodes

So I had to get a dog specifically for my condition.

Drew: Yeah.

So we actually got lucky and Aspen was initially with one of my friends

She was just a regular Labrador with one of my friends

We put her in her service dog training almost instantly

The service dog trainer fell in love with her

Was like, couldn't believe how well she was behaving

She was just naturally, you know, naturally a really kind and logic dog

She actually saved my life on more than one occasion

Any time I went out alone, she would be able to like

Alert for someone to get me help

And then in her pockets it had all the medical information

So EMS could actually assess me

So I literally owe my life to this dog.

Drew: So what about this instance was it that you said

"Oh man, I have to board Aspen for when I leave for this particular occasion" ?

So, this has been a vacation that for a while

I was actually going away to the cottage with family

And I was worried

Because you know, several people were telling me there's tons of wildlife and ticks

And all this sort of stuff that could possibly harm your dog

So I honestly thought that I was going to be doing her a good thing by keeping her boarded

And I'm gonna be with family that know my medical history

So if I pass out or something at least my family member's there to give EMS my medical reports

I'd never left anyone's side, I was always with someone

Drew: Of course

I have a very closed off circle, so I don't have too many friends

So all my friends at the time for the week I was going away

Were either away, sick, not well...

Not able to look after Aspen.

Drew: When you leave your dog with someone, it requires an incredible amount of trust

Drew: Especially if the people that you trust to leave her with are going on the trip with you

You know what I mean? So I understand that. Corey: Exactly

I thought that leaving her with PetSmart, being a major corporation

I didn't do a heck of a lot of Googling

You know, "oh, PetSmart neglect", you know

I never really bothered to research that, which I probably should've.

PetSmart was like "Oh, we're gonna do tons of walks" and all this sort of stuff

"Oh, we're gonna look after your dog, if your dog gets very sick" Which, it was in the agreement

"That we'll be calling an on-call vet for you..."

So they really hyped it up

So, you know what, it can't be that bad

You know, it's a big corporation.

You'd think that a big corporation that says they look out for animals would do the right thing

Drew: I mean, the instinct on that is to be like, hey, they're a well known, well trusted...

...They're an established brand so this is something they're able to do

So that was your only option that you were left with.

Corey: Yeah.

Drew: When you had left to go on your trip, Aspen was in perfect health?

Corey: Yeah.

Her regular vet that she's seen all the time for vaccinations and stuff like that

had to do a full examination

Vaccines and stuff like that.

We had to have that even going into PetSmart's care because it was actually one of their requirements.

This was 4 days before we brought her in.

Even the 4 days that she was with us, she was entirely healthy

No signs of vomiting, shaking, weight loss, any of that

They brought her out literally from the pet hotel

and she had drool and vomit all over her face

Uh, she was badly shaking

You could just look at her and see how much weight she had lost

And she could hardly stand.

So at that point I was like, holy crap, what happened to my dog?

Drew: At all did they contact you saying, hey, your dog is sick

Or, we need to call Corey to update him on the status of his dog?

Corey: So this is the interesting part

We were at the cottage for one week so on our way back

They had made a phone call saying that she had vomited once, but she was fine

Now, when we got there to pick her up

You know, just the way she looked I was like there's no way that she had been vomiting for one day

So I turned to the staff and I'm like "How many days has she been sick?"

Like, noticeably sick

And they were like, "Oh, she's been vomiting for 2 days."

Okay, so she's been vomiting and then according to your other staff

It was only one day

But now you're saying she was in your care and she's been vomiting for 24 hours?

And you didn't bother to call the on call vet that you know, you guys said that you would have?

Drew: Based on your assessment of these circumstances,

They had kind of chalked up the vomiting in their care

To maybe, you know, minuscule, or a minor thing?

Corey: Yeah, so like

The actual diagnosis, what it turned out to be

is she did have a disease, but it wasn't ever presenting itself.

The way this disease, that she does, the blood work came back and it came back positive

But this disease that she had had

Was never flared up

So she wasn't showing any signs of vomiting, regurgitation, you know, shaking

Any sort of signs like that

So when she went into PetSmart's care for whatever reason it flared up

I don't know if it's from her eating her bed

'Cause they admitted that she had eaten her bed, I got photos of that

It looks like she almost ate most of it

And they said they never--- Drew: She, she--

Corey: Never took it out of her cage-- Drew: -- I'm sorry, Corey. Corey.

Drew: She...

Drew: She ate her bed while she was there?

Corey: Yeah, that's correct. Drew: Okay.

Corey: Staff initially told us, they said they didn't even bother taking the bad bed out

So our first concern was obviously a blockage

We were like holy crap the dog has a blockage, she's gonna need surgery

Because of how much gas there actually was in her intestines when we saw the X-Ray

After all the blood work came back, because it took a while to come back

We figured out she has this autoimmune disease

Drew: When you went in to get Aspen, did you have the expectation that she was going to be or look as sick as she was?

Corey: They said that she vomited once that morning.

But then once we got there, their story changed

And the thing is, just looking at her, her condition

How critical she was, I'm highly doubting she was only sick for the two days.

I think, I honestly, royally believe she was sick for more than two days.

Drew: How did you react when you first saw her?

What were your, what were you feeling in that moment?

Corey: It almost felt like someone had taken a knife and stabbed me in the stomach

Like, just the way she looked was absolutely unbelievable and sickening

And like, they didn't even bother to wipe the drool and vomit off her face.

I turned back to my friend Tess and I was like,

Is this even like

We didn't even know if it was Aspen for sure, originally

We're like holy crap, she's lost so much weight

She doesn't look like Aspen anymore, like, for the most part

We had to double check and check for her markings and stuff like that

And make sure it was Aspen because she just looked so sick.

Aspen's never been that sick before.

Drew: When you picked her up and there was...

vomit on her face

And she hadn't been cleaned up and she had lost weight

Did any employees give you any explanation?

I mean did they just...

Did they just hand you the dog and say like, here's your... here's the same dog back?

I mean, did anyone... I mean how did they react?

Corey: Well, pretty much.

Like they brought her out from the pet hotel

From the glass door and you could just see her kind of like stumbling out

And they handed us this report card

It's the funniest, it's the most funniest thing I've ever seen in my life

It was a joke.

They handed us this report card that literally every single thing they checked off on

was "Oh, your dog was completely healthy"

"Your dog was eating, your dog was amazing, we hope to see your dog again!"

This is like a report card they give to everybody

And we asked them, like, why is there not any sort of...

Drew: And everything... Corey: ...Negative report on here?

Drew: Everything was checked in the positive column? Like everything was...?

Corey: They made it seem like Aspen was an amazing dog the whole time

which I'm sure she was, she is, she was a people lover, right?

But I mean, just the way she looked

I'm like how can you had us a report card saying our dog looked completely healthy the whole time

When very clearly she is not?

Drew: How soon after you were given Aspen from the pet hotel did you take her to your vet?

Corey: Almost right away, so

We put her outside on the lawn and we had to get her water

We did this check on the back of her neck to see if she was dehydrated

And it took about 9 seconds before the back of her neck fully went down

So we knew she was dehydrated

So we went in and we were like "We need water for this dog right now."

Like, she couldn't even get in our car

We had to lift her up and put her in the car, she was that weak

And then we literally rushed her as quick as we could

Obviously we're not an emergency vehicle

But as quick as we could to the emergency hospital

Drew: Your vet took a look at her ...

...and he could tell also that something was wrong, just immediately?

Corey: Both vets.

Both her regular vet that saw her, and the emergency vet that saw her

And even the neuro vet that saw her, like, the specialist

It was just unbelievable, like I... (exhales)

It shocked everybody, to say the least.

We couldn't believe how sick this dog really looked.

Drew: You picked her up on what date? Sunday, like, two weeks...?

Corey: I think it was July 8th?

Drew: July 8th. Okay and she- Corey: July 1st to the 8th is when she was at PetSmart and we picked her up on July 8th

Drew: Gotcha. And so she was in the vet's emergency care basically by that Monday, the 9th?

Corey: Yeah, so we took her to the emergency vet

And then they gave her some fluids and stuff like that, kind of treated her there

They're like, "okay, let's try something, let's see if she can get any better"

"By like, taking some gastro food and stuff"

"So, like, take her home for the night and monitor her and see how she'll do in the morning"

Drew: Okay. Corey: She was vomiting all night long

All early morning. We stayed up all night with this dog.

We brought her right away to her regular vet the following day.

She was then admitted at that point, and then from that point on she just deteriorated.

She fought for a whole week. This dog was really trying to stay alive, you could tell.

Drew: Her health progress did not improve

And she then passed away this past Sunday?

Corey: Unfortunately, we had to put her down, but yeah.

She was eventually transferred back to the emergency vet where she was placed in ICU

She had breathing tubes and all that sort of stuff, and feeding tubes

And it just got to the point where literally the ICU doctor was like,

"Listen, this morning she had huge difficulty breathing, she could hardly breathe on her own"

"She had a very close call with her passing out in the early morning"

So at that point I had to make the really hard decision to put her down.

Obviously I didn't want to, no one does ever want to put down their animal

Drew: Of course.

Corey: Um, but you know, I had to make that choice.

Uh, because it was either she was going to continue to suffer

or I had to literally put her to sleep.

So my friend and I, and my family, we were all in the room when they put her down.

And it was a very sad moment, for sure.

PetSmart was like "Oh we're gonna pay, we're not gonna pay, we're gonna pay, we're not gonna pay"

So like, bouncing back and forth

Drew: So they told you that they were going to cover the cost of it, and then they retracted that?

Corey: Yeah, so like, this is what I have to date.

So, initially they sent us a $1,400 check which only covered the original emergency vet cost

Drew: How much was the total vet bill?

Corey: The total vet bill was almost $7,000.

Drew: Okay. Okay.

Corey: Yeah. So we actually got help from a GoFundMe that we had set up

We raised some money through there

Her regular vet, because her regular vet was so in love with this dog

He wanted to help out personally, so he did

And he's like, "I'm gonna send PetSmart the bills"

He's still waiting on PetSmart to reimburse him

Because even though PetSmart necessarily didn't cause the disease from what we know so far

They still didn't call their on call vet which was part of their agreement

So there is still some fault on their end

And they should've called the vet immediately.

Drew: In all of the chaos and difficulty of this entire experience for you and for Aspen

And in I guess kind of doing this video with me and kind of sharing your story

And your version of everything that had happened

What is it, I guess, that you would want to say, or that you want from this point forward?

Corey: This isn't my story. This is Aspen's story. Drew: Sure.

Corey: And I'm not gonna let my dog die in vain.

I want to thank everyone that has been supporting Aspen's story.

Do I blame PetSmart for the entire reason she died? No.

Is there stuff they could have done to maybe have progressed her getting treatment? Yes.

And they failed to do that.

So I'm upset, I'm distraught over the whole situation

I lost a huge family member

You know, I think that when it comes to PetSmart, I think they really have to reevaluate their policies and procedures.

I honestly hope this never ever happens again to any, any animal.

I've said it a million and one times a lot of animals, especially dogs

are somewhat better than us humans

So they deserve the best or whatever and when they die like this it's just upsetting.

It's like if I could rewind the tape I would've gotten her out of there like (snaps)

Drew: So

It's a fair assessment to say that what you want right now

Is to just bring awareness to the situation

and put maybe a deeper look into

The care of a situation like this?

Corey: Correct.

Like I've told everybody already, it's not really about the money

It's like, yes, I'm gonna eventually need a new service dog

But it's really not so much...

As much as it's, you've gotta buy the dog, and it's money, you know everything revolves around money

At the end of the day the dog has to also meet certain requirements to become a service dog. Drew: Yeah.

Corey: And the trainer actually had to go with us to come meet the dogs

To be like, "Okay, yes, this dog has good qualities, let's see if they'll work, let's do a test run" Drew: Yeah.

Corey: It does take a while to find that right dog Drew: Yeah.

Corey: So we really just lucked out with Aspen. Drew: Of course.

Corey: You know it's probably going to be a while to get another dog.

Drew: Obviously all of this is quite a traumatic experience

In the exchange between you and PetSmart, what was the most disappointing thing about the way

That they had responded and reacted?

Corey: The only 2 things I saw them put in the media

The first being the statement about the disease that she had

When they had initially released that statement about that disease

Which, by the way, that is the disease that she has

But by the time when they released that, the blood work hadn't even come back for that disease yet.

So at that point we didn't even really know if she had the disease or not.

They went completely off differentials.

Drew: Right. So they never contacted you directly? They never apologized or anything?

Corey: At the beginning a member of their team reached out to me and talked to me briefly

But no I never got an official apology

As a matter of fact for the most part they've been trying to cover up their side of things

So they're not trying really to take any responsibility whatsoever

Even though it's quite obvious that in their own agreement

they state that they should've called a vet if your pet gets ill

My pet was very ill in your care and they didn't call a vet

Drew: What was, I guess what was the tone?

When you had spoken to a representative on the phone from PetSmart, what that interaction like?

Corey: Very fake and very corporate.

Corey: That's the best way I have to describe it. Drew: In what way?

Corey: You know, um, "We love dogs! We love animals! We wanna help!"

But they didn't really do anything to prove that they wanted to help.

I'm so upset at the way they handled this.

One of PetSmart's lawyers reached out to Yahoo for a statement

and literally said that I was lying about, you know, all that sort of stuff

They said "Corey Dixon's refusal to release Aspen's post-mortem records should cast significant doubt on the credibility of his points. We have urged him to release records to confirm or refute his claims and he's refused."

So let me address that right now.

I haven't refused anything like that.

Because the matter is, the post mortem, uh, like, you know, her autopsy and stuff

still hasn't been done.

So how am I supposed to release records that we don't even have?

There's an investigation going on with it as well.

You know, at this point though, it's almost like

I don't want to say the autopsy's pointless because it could very well show something more

But the main point is

Disease or no disease, they had a responsibility and they failed to do that.

I've shared her story on my Twitter, that's where I'm gonna continue to share her story

And then we also have a Facebook page set up for justice for Aspen.

Drew: Gotcha.

I guess, all in the same bundle: thank you, and I'm sorry for just everything

and for all the...I mean just, you know, all of this

And I really appreciate, um, your time

And honestly your willingness to be brave and going back through all this

And I don't use the word 'brave' often, but I just, I appreciate you, uh

using what you can to help put a light onto the situation

Corey: Thank you very much for sharing her story.

Drew: Of course, man. Of course. It was very nice meeting with you

And thanks a lot. Yeah. Have a good rest of your day.

Corey: Yeah, you as well.

Assistant: How you feeling?

Drew: Um...

I felt just really sad, I guess.

I don't know if I rubbed him the wrong way at the end?

Maybe I was to jovial, at the end? With when I said "have a good rest of your day" I guess?

I just. I don't know.

Assistant: I mean it's... you never know what to say in a situation like that

Drew: I don't know how to offer the right consolation for someone who's in that much grief.

I don't know that I agree with him about how clear it is, what's happening

Something that is clear is how much sooner PetSmart should have responded to something like this

I mean, a dog eating their bed... that's a huge red flag for me.

I mean that's... dogs do that when they're anxious or frustrated, or upset, or sick.

And it sounds like she could've been all of those things.

I think you've ruined a lot for someone like Corey.

You've ruined trips away.

I would feel like I could never take a vacation again

I would feel like you ruined that current vacation that I just came back from

I would never remember that vacation

I would forever remember it as that's the trip I came back where my dog died

And I wasn't there to be able to

assess what had happened for my own peace of mind

Assistant: We've never done a vlog like this before Drew: No

Assistant: And we've never talked to anybody like this

And I know initially when you had heard about like, Corey and stuff, it was...

You know, you never know what someone's motives are, or the situation or whatever

How do you feel after talking to him?

Drew: Speaking as someone who feels, who has felt attacked by

what a corporation represents

Or a specific employee

I think he dealt with his... I think he composed himself very well

I think by making it all about the dog, that's super important

Because that is what it's about.

There are two things about this situation that I

I would have a tough time, I don't wanna say 'forgiving'

But just, letting go of.

The first thing is, I don't know why you called me the day that I picked her up Assistant: Yeah.

Drew: You know, the way that he had described it was the way that they had described it

was that it was something that was minute. Assistant: Yeah.

Drew: Insignificant.

I also can personally understand something like a corporate response

because that's a complicated thing for them.

Because if they say "Sorry, we did a bad job with your dog"

That can incriminate themselves for something that's worse.

I could totally see them saying "Just be quiet on this , let's wait 'til certain things..." You know.

So I understand that.

In a completely non-emotional way, I understand that.

What I think is the most heartbreaking part of all of it

Where I get upset

Is to...

To say, here's your dog, and she's shaking, and she has vomit, and, um...

...And here's a piece of paper that says she's okay.

That's why...

That's why I'm very, uh...

I'm just upset for...

I mean it's just a dog, man.

A dog is...

They can't tell you when- They can't say "Hey, I'm not feeling good today."

Or "Hey, I miss my owner, so that's why I ate my bed" or "Hey..." (sighs)

So... Assistant: (sniffs) Yeah.

Drew: And that's just the hardest part, is having to

Really process that after I get off with Corey

Because I try to just be there for him and understand where he's coming from

Because if that part is true

If that part is true...

I don't give a f*ck about the rest of it.

I don't care.

You can't hand me a piece of paper saying my dog is fine

When she's lost a quarter of her body weight

And any given person who doesn't know shit about dogs

could objectively look at one and go "Yeah, that's a very sick animal."

We don't know whether she got sick because of the place or before the place or during-

I mean, that happens. That sickness, that can happen.

Assistant: Yeah.

Drew: But that's the part that I... I can't forgive that.

I can't look past it.

And I just feel grief, uh...

...just because of my love for dogs.

And my hate for the abhorrence of the situation. And how...

...the bedside manner was abysmal.

Assistant: Yeah.

Drew: So.

Assistant: (wrapping up) Okay. Drew: Really funny episode.

Destiny 2: The Whisper Heroic - Oracle Puzzle, Chest Locations & Exotic Catalyst - Duration: 7:25.

There is one more secret to The Whisper mission that you may have heard about involving the

oracles and 5 chests that you need to collect.

This easter egg sorta deal is an homage to the fabled 7th chest of the Vault of Glass,

a loot chest thought to exist out on a lone platform in between the jump puzzle and Atheon's

door, under a Vex gate.

So, let's go grab it There are 5 chest in the heroic version of

The Whisper.

The first chest is towards the beginning in a crack in the wall before you drop down into

the red light area.

You'll jump the first gap of the area, then hug the right side wall before going down

and grab the chest.\par Chest number 2 is much later on in what we've

been calling The Hole room.

In my original video, we took the left side route through instead of the right side route,

this is where the chest will be.

By the way, the right side route is a lot easier.

Go along the left side of the wall and when you get to the final hole in the wall on the

left, you'll drop down into a room with the chest.

Chest number 3 and 4 are in the grass room or green room, whatever you call it.

When you first enter the room, you'll have an opportunity to go off to the left side

of the area under the concrete blocks.

When you're under the block, keep going forward until you can't, make a left and then go into

the small tunnel on the right side of the path.

Walk through for chest number 3.

Chest 4 is up the path that we took in the original video.

Turns out there's another path that is significantly easier to take to get to the next area.

Anyway, all you're going to do is go to the back of the area and follow the platforms

that I'm showing now on the video.

There will be some notches built into the wall covered in grass, these are your safety

platforms.

When you get all the way up, look down and left to see a small square of grass.

Jump on that, walk forward and that's number 4.

Chest number 5 is in the room before the combat area.

Instead of hugging the wall going around the big ring to the left, you're going to go jump

off to the right side instead and scale up the platforms over here.

You'll see a vex gate off in the distance, get to it.

From the vex gate, you'll have a very small pillar to jump on, then from there, you'll

jump to a small crevice on the right.

Run to the end, jump right and that is chest number 5.

Each chest contains a Blighted Essence, which is needed to complete your catalyst.

By completing another run on heroic and getting all 5 chests, you should be at 36% on your

catalyst and I imagine it'll take 2 more resets before you're able to complete it.

Now, we have the oracle puzzle.

If you're an old school player who played the original VoG raid, try to figure this

one out for yourself before watching the rest of the video.

For all others, here is the puzzle.

Stand on the vex plate to have all of the oracle spawn.

Note that you NEED all 5 chests to be collected otherwise not all of the oracles will spawn

and you need all 7.

When all 7 oracles are spawned in, for the first wave, you're going to shoot 1, 3, 5.

This is from left to right, so all the way on the left is 1, on the right is 7.

The second wave is 4, 6, 7, 3, 1 and the third wave is 7, 3, 1, 6, 4, 2, 5.

The chest should spawn right in front of you.

So, how was this conclusion reached?

Well, when the oracles spawn, they all make a sound, a note, so all 7 come in with their

notes.

THEN, for the first wave, there are 3 additional pings.

These first 3 pings are the sounds that the first wave of 3 oracles in the original VoG

made.

You respond by shooting the 2nd wave of oracles that spawned in VoG according to the sounds

that they made when they did THEIR first spawn in the raid.

Here's a play by play, listen closely.

If you do the first wave correctly, the game will ping the next 5, which is wave 3 in VoG,

and then you shoot the next 5, which is wave 4 of VoG and then so on for wave 5 and 6.

Pretty clever and a great homage to the Vault.

Reddit user nerdorado and streamer Teawrex were part of the team that managed to decipher

the code, links to them in the description.

As for what you get out of the chest, well, it's a ship schematic and to get it, you need

to do a run of The Whisper on heroic with each singe activated, arc, solar and void.

I assume these will rotate weekly, so I apologize for not getting this video out sooner.

The ship in the picture of the icon looks very much like the Agonarch Karve ship from

King's Fall in Destiny 1.

We'll find out soon enough.

Again, Bungie, well done on this event, been a really fun time although I do worry about

the future of the power weapon slot for boss damage, but that'll be a discussion for another

day.

Until then, thanks for watching, I'll see you next time.
