How now brown Cow

The acrobat has oddly-shaped feet.

*psshhhh pshhh* *lalalalal*

What up my fam bam?

Ashley Elizabeth here with AEHM artistry and I'm super excited about today's

video.

It is first thing in the morning and I told myself I will not film first

thing in the morning because usually I'm very groggy and tired. But I already did

my makeup and hair. So like I am ready to rock in a roll! And you already clicked

on this video so you already know, but I want to tell you anyways what this video

is going to be about, just in case it you don't. And it's the Laura Lee Los Angeles

Boss Babe and Party Animal eye bundle set! These are the new pallets that just

launched on Laura Lee Los Angeles website. And soon to be on Morphe's

website, Ulta, and there's one other retailers. And I'm not sure what, but I

will definitely link down in the description box. So at the time of

filming this, these are all sold out on her website. Go Laura Lee! That is

awesome girl! Get It! But she did say it's gonna be at those other retailers.

And I'm sure they're gonna restock these in the near future. Now what to expect

from this video, because it's gonna be at least a four part series, today we're

gonna be doing a little show-and-tell if you will. I already did an unboxing on my

Instagram and Snapchat, so if you aren't following me there make sure to head to

my description box, click that link, and follow me. That way we can get more

social with each other. So today we'll be showing you all the little just arm

swatches, I'm not doing my traditional eye and brush swatches today. You're gonna

have to make sure you subscribe to this channel, so you get notified as soon as I

post that video, which should be on Wednesday. And I will do my traditional

swatches that really really tell what a palette performs like. And then I will

also be doing a little mini first impressions eye look using both palettes

today. So if you want to see the hypothetical tea on this one, then you

know what to do just keep watching.

*intro music*

So this is your first time seeing this new launch, I'm gonna tell you a little

bit about it. So Laura Lee is a youtuber and influencer. And let's get real for a

second, if you didn't know, Laura Lee is partly the inspiration for me starting

my youtube channel last year. It's a long story, I'll go into it one day, but dude

that girl is killing it and she's so down-to-earth and chill. I mean from what

I see. I don't know her personally but I like what she's doing. I smell what she's

stepping in and I can dig it. But surprisingly enough I have yet to buy

anything from her. Her other launches I was drooling over and I was

excited for but I just hadn't gotten around to getting it. So when she had her

launch video last week on this palette, tbh, I was obsessed with this one from

the get-go. And that is Party Animal. There are two palettes, I'm gonna show you.

They are also sold individually as well as the bundle palettes. Individually they retail for $19

a piece, but if you get the bundle it's only $30. So me, savvy shopper Sally, loves

a good deal. So for $11 more, I was like I'm just I'm just gonna get the

bundle and I'll show you guys all of it. So this is the palette though that had

me rolling. Oh super excited! And I actually commented on her video and one of you

guys actually was like "yes, please get this and review it". So I was like, don't worry

I'll get it! And it is Party Animal and look at it, she is a party! She is a color party!

What I love about this palette is its its little. It's compact but the pans are

actually a pretty decent size. I would say they're a little larger than a

quarter. So that's my finger. That's pretty, thats still pretty big but

it's it's a little compact shape. You're on the go, you travel, you want the option

this is a great travel palette. Or if you don't do a lot of crazy looks and you

just need a little something that you can go to, to add a little pop of color. I

love this idea. It is awesome. And then on the other side of the bundle you have

the Boss Babe palette. Now wait a second, can I talk for a second how cool this

bundle is. I mean I know she went over in her launch video and everything but it

is so cute. I love this little, it looks like a volume set. Like kind of reminds

me VHS days and the Titanic came in a

volume set. And that is just giving me total Titanic vibes for some reason. Even

though it wasn't as cool as this, it's just...it's just old school and but new

school. Bringing old school to new school and and I can dig it. So it pulls out

with this little sleeve. A little ribbon right there and slides out. So how cute

is that idea? That is the outer packaging that I will keep for sure. So pops that

out and this is the Boss Babe little palette. I'll show you that first and

then we'll dive into swatches. I actually have not swatched these at all yet. I

wanted to do them right here with you guys. So a cute little palette and then

this is the more neutral Nelly set. Which is totally fine, it is beautiful. To be

honest this is not what sold me for me because I have a lot of colors that are

similar to this. And that's okay, I do think that they will partner really well

together and we're gonna test that theory out today. I just this, this is

what sold me. I like something different and unique and a couple of these shades

I have anyways. But I don't have anything compact like this. I only have big ol

massive colorful palettes and I needed something little on the go. So really

cute idea, really cute concep,t let's go ahead and swatch these. And then let's

test them right on my eyes and see how they perform. So here is Party Animal,

really cool holographic shifts to it. Which is really pretty. And that is the

palette inside, adorable. Oh these fold down really nicely by the way too, so you

can put it on your desk and it'll just easily if you don't wanna use the mirror.

That's pretty cool idea.

Whoo! That's called "Bottoms Up" but that is

just gorgeous! That is really cool. Lots of glitter in it, really really really

pretty. Okay so first right here we have "Its A Party",

Now we have "Damage Control", "Karaoke", "Dranks", "Bottoms Up", and "Hungover".

What shades am I most excited for? I would say these three right here, I love

these too but I have some shades like that. These ones are pretty unique to

what I don't have and I mean overall I'm super excited. Now here is the boss babe

palette which is more of a rose gold metallic. So those are the shades that

you get in there, go ahead and swatch.

That glided right on. Really pretty.

Okay these are quite different, they look kind of similar in the pan but this

one's definitely more rosy. That one's more "Champagne color".

Wow. Alright so, that is the Boss Babe palette.

So right here we have "On The Grind", "Deadline", "CEO", "Nine-to-Five", "Hustler" and

"Clocked Out". Which shades am I most excited for? CEO is a beautiful rose gold

and then a 9 to 5 is that perfect 70s orangie Brown shade. That was just

like everywhere in the 70s. Your grandma had couches that would be the color of

the couch. At least for me. So super excited about that. Let's go ahead and

start playing around with these palettes shall we. Now if you are a subscriber of

mine you know that's not traditionally how I swatch things. But that was the

first time I wanted to dip into the palette and I really wanted to play with

it and see it before I plan out my eye look for today.

Now I haven't personally used any of her other palettes. I really really wanted the

Nudie Patootie Palette and I was gonna order that with this order but when the

time came for this to the launch it was then sold out on her website. I was super

sad. I still want to get my hands on that one.

I know it's available on morphe site and I'm sure it's coming to ulta when they

launch. But I was sad because I would have gotten free shipping. And I'm a free

shipping gal! But anyways, I paid for shipping, I did it for you! Anyways about

this palette, when I was swatching, this one was a very buttery formula very

silky very smooth really nice. These are not glitter packed shadows. These shimmery

ones are like a shimmer but they're high intensity high-impact shimmer. So I

really like that. Its very buttery, really nice.

I did notice, now we'll see how they apply we'll see how it goes, this Party

Animal palette is a little more dry. It's not buttery, except kind of the glittery

one has a more smooth. And "Hungover" The mattes are not as buttery of some other

mattes that I have used. But as long as it performs, that don't make no matter to me.

It was just interesting on a finger swatch, was a little surprising but

that's okay. So enough about that and the chitchat and the talking let's go ahead

and try these palettes both on my eyes. We'll do a little looki poo and we will

see if this how if performs pretty well. And then otherwise we'll be doing my

traditional swatch video in the next future videos and then some singly eye

looks using each palette. Yeah, let's do that.

Zoomed you guys in a bit too. Now I'm gonna be going in with my Frankie

Rose Eye Promise Eye Primer. A cruelty free of dupe for Mac Paint Pots, if you

didn't know. And I'm just gonna prime my whole lid with that and then we're gonna

start this eyeshadow party. Cuz it's a party, it's a palette party! Now the only thing I

noticed for me is there are no brow bone shades in here. Which is fine, not every

palette can have the same blank shade. So what I like to do is I just dip into

Snow Day and the Too Faced best year ever palette. And I like to set just my

brow bone with this because it just helps with your transition. But I leave

the rest of my primer because it helps to grab the pigments of the powders more.

So I just said right here.

And then right underneath right there.

Just like that.

I'm gonna start with doing a little transition on my

eyelid. I'm gonna go in with "Deadline", which looks like the perfect nudie

transition shade. But let's find out and we start into my crease.

Yeah she is

pigmented, I'll tell ya!

Alright that is looking beautiful. That shade

blended out really beautifully. It has a lot of pigment and it blends out to a

really pretty shade. Like I don't know how to describe it, it just goes from

like that terracotta, a light color, to just like a yellowy...

just it just it's really pretty. I can't explain it, you just have to see it and

it's pretty. Go ahead and start playing with the Party Animal Palette. Now what

one of the shades that sold me right away was this purple shade, I was

obsessed with it. The sneak peak of the orange got me like "Oh what are those!

Whatever it is gonna buy it!" So I'm gonna play with that orange shade in another

video, but today we're gonna do that purple. And let's put it into the crease.

I think I'm gonna do a little spotlight with the purple today so we're gonna go

here, here, and the crease. Like do a little rainbow. Take this little flat

brush and start packing on the pigment. We'll see how it performs. Oooh.

Just a little

bit. Its already going a long way. That's really nice.

She's so pretty.

Already, already I'm obsessed.

That was like two dips. Two dips into this and it's already like packing a punch.

And it's not, it looks like it's gonna be

a crazy metallic, but it's not. It's just really nice. I'm gonna go in and blend

this out.

Now I'm just layering to see how dark I can intensify

that purple. And it's working out pretty well. I must say.

That is building up

beautifully, you guys.

Alright that is looking blended and gorgeous. And it actually, it

matches my background almost. Except this is a little more purple. Cool, not on

purpose but somewhat deliberate. Alright let's go ahead and start doing that

spotlight. For spotlight I like to use the Urban Decay concealer, the All

Nighter concealer and I have a couple of videos tutorials on this. So I'm just

gonna breeze right through it. I'm gonna set that spotlight right there

Let's go

ahead and dip into "Hustler". I'm gonna try it to use a brush we'll see how it goes.

If I need to use my finger, I will.

No, I don't think a finger is necessary. And

we're not getting any fallout either. Notice? Notice this.

That's looking really pretty. Really!

Pretty.

Look at how much that's building up.

That is a gorgeous. Gorgeous metallic shade. It's like without effort too. Really

amazing. Now I'm gonna go back in with the "Party Animal" deepen that purple shade

we were using, "Hungover". And I'm gonna go ahead and make sure that spotlight is a

nice and blended out.

Just a little dollop. Bloop bloop bloop. Just like that.

Easy peasy. They're meshing very well together. That

is looking banging. So I don't know what I want to do on my under eyes yet.

So I'm just gonna, I'm just gonna go in with a "Deadline"on my lower lash line

and see where inspiration takes me.

I might keep my lower lash line just like that. But haven't fully decided yet.

Let's go ahead and do the inner corner highlight. So I'm gonna go in with "On The

Grind" there's that really pretty light champagne type shade. And pop it right

here. Sometimes I have to spray my inner corner highlights to make them pop on my

eyes, but it's going okay. I think that'll do. If I want to intensify it later I can

layer it with some damp brushes, but I think that that's working nice.

I'm gonna go ahead and pop on my liner and lashes and we will wrap up my

overall thoughts.

Alright lovebugs, lashes and liner all done. I am using the

House of Lashes in Knockout because I feel like that looks the best with spotlights.

And all around it's my favorite eyelashes hands-down. I also went in and

intensified that inner corner highlight a tad bit with the Smashbox primer water.

Just lightly dampen my brush, dipped it in dabbed a little bit. And then I went

in and did the lower lash line with that same purple shade I used on top just to

intensify it make it more cohesive. I felt like it was missing something so

that tied it all together. And then I did the little halo like situation with the

Urban Decay "Gold Digger" liquid liner because it just complemented it

beautifully. And I just, it's poppin'! It's nice. If you can't tell, I'm super happy

with this eye look and the way the shadows were performing. Now I'll show

you right here, I didn't experience any fallout. I didn't lay a card down, I didn't

lay shadow shields down, nothing. I did my face makeup before because I had hope

and dreams that when it wouldn't get fall out and my prayers were answered. No fallout,

everything looks good. Everything looks nice. Blendability was a breeze,

pigmentation was there, and just the color story is awesome. I'm really loving this

palette selection shades so far. Of the shades that I tried. Now I only tried

three, yeah, I only did three of these shades so far. So what you're gonna have

to do if you want to see more, if you want to know more before you go ahead

and make your purchase. Then make sure you go down and hit that little

subscribe button and you can be a part of this little fan bam that we have

going on here. And I'm posting at least 3 to 4 more videos on these palettes.

Yes I have four more videos, which may seem redundant, but don't worry I'm gonna

break them up per palette. In case there's one that you're interested in.

Not the other. I'm not putting it all in one video, I'm gonna split them up. So if

you want to see that, make sure you're subbed. If you are gonna be getting one

of these palettes or even the bundle definitely comment that down below and

let me know and we can chitchat about these palettes. Let me know if you have

any questions. I don't have all the answers yet but as I play with these

I will. Thank you guys so much for watching today, I hope that you guys

enjoyed this look. And this trial and this first impressions. And so far first

impressions are glorious! Alright my fam bam, both old and new, I hope you guys

all have a great lovely day!

(City noises)

All right, everyone! The moment of truth...

Wake up!

What does this tell us about anything?

Everyone knows a patient has a better chance of recovering from a disease, if they are fighting.

There isn't much difference between your device and yelling in one's ear.

Ichabod, you can't be wearing necklaces and good luck charms at school.

I'm...I'm just testing it. It was in my pocket.

Ichabod: I wasn't wearing it.

Ichabod's Mother: I want you to get rid of it.

(Knocking)

Xochquetzal: [I] need you to help her.

Ichabod's Mother: Please, come into the kitchen.

What happened?

McCoy wants me dead.

Why?

Amaroq's gone.

How did you do that?

Di..Did you do that?

Here. I have to get this out of the house; it's a turquoise.

What's that mean?

Mean...It doesn't have to mean anything!

Okay, fine.

Tlaloc's paper says it protects people.

Don't you want it?

Hello!

Hello, Clark.

I discovered something...something sure to cause us to stick out.

I'm not interested in sticking out. It's rude!

Ain't it really because, every time you do something brave and exciting, people try to kill you?

Just because that's true, doesn't make my actions any less motivated by propriety!

And you are?

Clark, Kajortoq.

Kajortoq, Clark.

And I'm not risking misconduct again, Clark!

It'll be all worth it...

...once we've earned our place at vineyard.

Come on!

What are you showing us?

What if I told you that there are people that came from the stars.

Do you mean a spirit?

Spirits are born when stars fall from the heavens into the webs of Mama Spider?

Not that bumpkin nonsense.

What's more likely is that the ancient people saw something strange...

Clark: ...and they couldn't understand.

Clark: Imagine!

Clark: Life from another planet, that built some kind of ship,

Clark: sailed here, and were confused...

Clark: ...for spirits.

Well imagine no longer,...

...for I have discovered that ship!

Clark, that's an aerostat.

A blimp?

Kitty: Balloon.

Clark: But, it doesn't look like the balloons in the pictures.

Icky: It was probably some kind of prototype from the Institute that failed.

Well.

Fun adventure. I'm going home now.

Well, I'm going to make a discovery, even if you won't help!

Kitty: You're kinda stupid.

You shouldn't just...

(Click....Intensifying music)

Clark: Ah!

(Wind blowing)

It's got some kind of Voodoo stone on it!

We should probably stop that!

How?

I'll get you in; you shut it down.

What happened?

You almost died because ya think yer smart n' yer not.

You are going home Clark, and we are going to tell the Institute about cleaning up their dangerous trash.

My friend needs...extraordinary help.

A Piece Of My Skull Is Missing! | #SpinaBifida - Duration: 2:27.

Hey everyone, welcome to #SpinaBifida

So let's do a little story time.

I recently had to go to the neurosurgeons office

because I've been getting a lot of head pressures.

And we needed to find out if I needed another brain surgery

for my chiari malformation.

Which I don't need one right now so that's good.

But at this appointment a lot of things came up that were pretty funny.

That had my friend Caitlin and I just laughing the entire time.

So when we got into this appointment

the neurosurgeon came in and he was very friendly.

I personally think neurosurgeons are the coolest people ever.

So the surgeon came in and before we started looking at my scans

He had asked where I got my first brain surgery.

And I said Arnold Palmer Hospital in Orlando.

Then he asked if I remembered who the surgeon was

that did my surgery.

And I said his name and then he said his first name

and then I was like yeah that's him.

And he was like "Oh! I know him"

"I graduated med school with him, same class"

And I was just like...what?

So my old neurosurgeon has known me since I was a child

so that was a little odd.

But this is where the video title comes into play.

We go into looking at my scans and everything.

And then he brings up what bones are missing.

Mind you when I got my first skull decompression

all I was really told is that they shaved the back of my skull really thin.

No no no

No no no.

Not only did they take out a little piece of my skull,

they took out part of my first vertebrae.

I am missing a piece of my skull and my first vertebrae.

I didn't even know they could take out your first vertebrae.

How is my neck doing things?

And I know this story time probably doesn't make sense

and probably not interesting but I'm missing bones.

I had no idea I was missing bones and the doctor was just like

yeah.

So that's just my story time, I don't know.

I went to an appointment just trying to find out if I needed brain surgery

and then I left the appointment

finding out that I don't have all my bones in my body.

Are you missing any bones?

Did you find out stuff like this?

So that's it on #SpinaBifida.

I hope you enjoyed this odd story time

that wasn't really a story time

just wanted to tell you that I'm missing bones.

Thank you for watching.

THE SUICIDE TROOP - SOCIETY OF VIRTUE - Duration: 2:59.

At the maximum-security prison in Megalopolisville,

you will find the biggest villains the city has ever seen

The killer, one of the greatest assassins in the world

and he says he does not miss a shot

but in fact he misses, because if he didn't he would be arrested

Clown, who has no powers, is crazy and dresses as a clown

and so should be in a sanatorium not in a prison

Captain Boomerang, who is the world's greatest boomerang expert

Yeah, this part is not even a joke, he is a real character

And Alligator, a man who was born with a horrible skin disease and so he is considered a villain

although he has never committed any crime, just the crime of not being loved and educated by zealous parents

I'm Angela Weller, member of the Congress and I have come here to bring you an irrefutable proposal

Which proposal?

I'm in

You will work for the government on a secret team

and if you accomplish the mission, you gain your freedom plus ten million dollars each

Hum...what kind of mission?

You will be sent to fight a bloodthirsty militia in a third-world country

where you will probably be captured, tortured, perhaps dismembered and killed

You will be the Suicide Troop

I don't think so...

I'd rather not

I'm in!

What do you mean, no?

Did you hear the part that this is the only way for you to get out of jail?

Get out of jail? Not even you believe in it

You named the group: Suicide Troop

It's just a name guys, could be anything else

May I know why you're sending a bunch of criminals to a mission instead of sending Marines

or any agent with much more training than we have?

Because, no one else is in

You don't them, the group name was Suicide Troop, right?

Anyone who prefers to stay here until your sentence is done,

instead of going to die no mission says yes!

Yes!

No one is going

I didn't want to have to do this but

we put a bomb on your head...if you are not in, you will die!

You were saying that if we don't join the suicide troop, where we're going to have to go

and fight a militia of a third world country where we're probably gonna be caught

tortured and maybe dismembered and killed, you're just gonna kill us here

in the comfort of our cells, without having to go through all of this and die anyway?

Well, when you put it like that...

Can't we just change the name of the group?

What if it was the Troop that is probably going to die,

but that has a 2% chance of not dying in case something miraculous happens?

Are you kidding me?

I think we can work with that

What?!

Can I take my boomerang?

I'm in!

What are you talking about?

Could it be 4% instead of 2%?

Sure, why not?

I'm in!

- Cruising out of here at what, nine, ten knots.

Just the main sail, let's go, we are flying.

So I'm just flying the drone and a bird attacked it.

We've lost the drone and it's in the water somewhere

and we're trying to find it. - Okay.

We're about to commence operation zero chance.

(laughing)

(pleasant music with inaudible lyrics)

(crashing waves)

- [Becky] Hello lovely humans, just a quick recap on

what happened last week on board.

We pulled up anchor in Simpson Bay, Saint Martin

after getting a few jobs done and the rain followed

us around to another Anchorage for the night

where we climbed up to Fort Demarido to watch the sunset.

(laughing) (upbeat music)

Today after some finishing touches to

our nearly enforced boom, we'll be setting sail to Anguilla.

- Something I'm just gonna say,

we haven't even talked through questions of like.

- What are you listening to? - We should talk about

races and the waves that have changed over time.

I'll just bracket that. - Ezra someone or other

they really did not know what they were talking about.

Atlantic crossing or if we ever go to do the Pacific again,

'The Curse of La Llorona' Cast on the Terrying Folklore & Audience Reactions | Comic-Con 2018 - Duration: 8:02.

- Welcome to our shenanigans here

at the MTV suite at Comic-Con, guys.

Congratulations on your film,

which has just gotten a new title, actually.

As of two weeks ago, it was called something else,

so, unveil this horrific title on us.

What's the pronunciation?

- It is The Curse of La Llorona.

- La Llorona

- La Llorona, actually, guys, why don't you kill it.

- (laughs) La Llorona

- Llorona

- [Josh] So, and, educate me-- - What they said.

(group laughs)

- [Josh] Exactly, I'm with you with that.

- The double L is really a Y, so that's all you gotta--

- Right, right, it's screwing up in my brain.

- And you gotta roll the R.

- Ya gotta roll your R's guys,

that's what you always gotta do.

So, educate me on this, this is like,

a legend that has a lineage.

This is something that is based in

folklore, right? - Yeah, it's been around

for hundreds of years, you know basically,

and if you grew up Hispanic, you've definitely heard

it from your family, more than likely your abuela.

You know, it's like your grandma

would tell it to you, and she'd say like,

you know, you'd better be good,

or La Llorona is gonna come and get you.

- Got it.

- And it's a terrifying story.

It's about, you know, it's hundreds of years old,

it's about this woman who, you know,

in this jealous rage, she grabs her

two young boys and drowns them in the river,

and then is, like, cursed to walk the earth

for all eternity.

So it's a really dark tale, and especially,

- Amazing, and it has a good home here

at Comic-Con in San Diego, where we love

all things genre of all types, and uh,

so I think the audience is gonna love it.

- You wanna distance yourself - from your director

for something like this. - From her

He's embracing her, wholeheartedly.

- He's on the wrong side, maybe.

Well, for this film maybe it's the right side.

(group laughing)

- No, I'm definitely best behind the camera.

I mean, honestly, these guys were amazing.

They made the movie.

You know, of course we always talk about how scary it is,

you wouldn't buy any of that, you wouldn't believe it,

you wouldn't be emotionally invested, if it wasn't for them.

And they brought so much humanity

and just amazing characters to it.

I mean, they really killed it.

- What is the ultimate goal with seeing

an audience go through something like this?

Is it to see them rattled, and kind of

shaking, walking out of the theater?

These kinds of films can do something

that no other kind of film can do.

- You know what's amazing is, like,

when you get a really good scare,

there's almost always this like ripple

of like, laughter, which is - right,

to diffuse the tension, right? - yeah, right afterwards.

It's like, everyone gets scared,

and then it's like this shared laughter,

which like, no ones really even conscious of,

'cause no one really talks about like...

They talk about oh I was so scared in the movie...

They are not realizing how much they're laughing,

and they're not, and it's just out of this

kind of, shared nervousness, which is just exquisite.

It's like, so fun to see, and like,

I think it's just that whole kind of range of emotions.

It's really fun to experience.

- Nice. So we're obviously here in

San Diego Comic-Con, so I can't let

Linda go without a question.

- Sure

- How's Laura Barton doing, did she survive the (muffled)?

- I can't tell you anything about that.

those movies are gigantic.

- So what was your perspective Infinity War?

Like, did you go in knowing anything,

or were you like the rest of us, sort of like--

- No, you know very little, they let out very little.

Today in Technology: Nelson Mandela's Legacy - Duration: 5:42.

Nelson Mandela's vision for equal opportunity and development lives on

throughout South Africa. In this edition of Today in Technology, we visit his

rural home village of Qunu to learn how access to high-speed broadband internet

is improving the lives of people living in the region. Microsoft is working with

South African educators, doctors and entrepreneurs who understand that

Mandela's long walk to freedom can only be realized if everyone has access to

information and education.

Nelson Mandela was born in Mveza. He was nine years

when he left his home with his mother. His father had just passed away so they

moved to this area. Why did he love Qunu so much? The landscape of this area

was was quite exciting for him as he grew up. He would climb up the tree to

listen to people talking about politics, business, culture. That's where he learned

the art of leadership. The first in his family to receive an education, Mandela

left Qunu to continue his studies. Along the way, he met new people and learned

new ideas. He realized that access to information is power.

Mandela's long walk to freedom would take decades of resistance and sacrifice,

including 27 years in prison when apartheid ended in the early 1990s,

culminating in Mandela's election as South Africa's first black president.

It marked the beginning of a new path. We know it was that none of us searching

alone can achieve success. We must therefore act together as a united

people for national reconciliation. For Nelson, children were the birth of a new

world. Where are we today, is the long walk to

freedom over, or is it continuing?

For that long walk for freedom to be over

it means we would have succeeded in delivering an education system, health care system,

water and sanitation. Are we close? In some areas, we are. So the struggle of the

long walk to freedom continues today. Apartheid is outlawed, but progress for

everyone is elusive. The long walk to freedom continues, and technology can

help in rural parts of South Africa, like Qunu. In the Eastern Cape, an estimated

75% of people lack access to broadband internet. That's why Microsoft and our

Airband Initiative have partnered with local broadband entrepreneurs like

brytewave. When we started brytewave, our primary mission was to enable affordable

broadband access to the masses. Wo whatdoes broadband mean to the people that

you serve? It is a window to a world. In South Africa, it is very important for our

learners to be connected. We would like them to have access to Internet, just

like children from bigger cities, because they lack in knowledge. It disadvantages

them. brytewave has brought broadband access to more than 1,000 schools and

clinics including here in Qunu, and the benefits aren't limited to education.

Health care is another critical area that needs better broadband.

Nothing is dynamic, so you cannot rely on the nesting that you were told before. By

having internet, it's easier for us to get all the information we need and is

helping us to get the results of the patients using the powers of

artificial intelligence in the cloud. South African star depuis Luc Issa is

developing technology that empowers health workers to quickly and securely

diagnose some of the most common diseases. South Africa and Africa as a

whole have got a chronic shortage of doctors. We have a population of

53 million people and there's less than 200 urologists in the whole country. Most of

them are centered in big cities. I cannot train doctors quick enough, but what I

can do is make better use of their time by creating tools that allows only what

they need to think about it to see to be brought to their attention. But Poole

acusa can't deploy this promising and innovative solution without internet

connectivity. I want everyone for as far as I can see

to be accounted for. I want them to feel as if they are participating in the

bettering of their own health, and I want it to be absolute partnership between us.

Saying is that it takes a village to raise a child--it takes a world to serve

a village. We are all part of the world that is coming together to serve this

village. Mandela said, what I was fighting for

all my life is that I need to make sure that my people are relevant for the

future. It starts today, and it starts with us
