Plum: How do you find the light
when you're plunged into the darkest part of yourself?
♪♪
Noxon: I think Plum is without a tribe
and I think that sense of belonging to nobody
and not even to herself, really, is excruciating for her.
Like, she needs to find her people, whoever they are.
Plum is looking for an outlet, and she thinks that her friend
has found her outlet through Jennifer.
And so, I think she sort of summons Leeta
as a way to back up the thinking she already has.
How come you haven't found me?
What?
You know, I told you,
when you were done with Calliope House,
find me.
I think Leeta is the first person
who really seems to see her and care about her.
And I think then when she leaves, it's like
she's chasing her for the whole rest of the season.
She wants that back.
Darke: You know, sometimes you just meet someone
and you feel like you understand each other,
and I think Plum experiences that with Leeta
and she doesn't really know why.
Can't you just tell me what I should do?
I'd really rather you decide.
Nash: Leeta connects to both the light and the dark side of Plum
because Leeta loves Plum as she is currently
and she loves her for her potential.
Noxon: Leeta definitely represents to her a way out
of this place where she's so lonely and lost.
It's time for you to move on.
You need to spread your wings and fly.
Think big. Fly.
The beginning of her new life, really, I think,
is in taking an action, doing something bold,
which she does.
[Beeps]

I think Plum is really excited to meet the Jennifers
and also way out of her depth.
Tommy: She's gone through all of these different tribes of women
and now she's at the final one, which is Jennifer,
and will this be the thing that creates a rebirth in her?

Are we on a mission now?
Yeah. Sure.
I call it "Don't get caught or killed."
Soledad calls it strategic inaction something.
Noxon: I think that Jennifer feels like all of them
are in a moment of crisis, like a --
not just crisis in themselves,
but in, like, a real, external crisis
because what happens a lot of times with moments
is they're just moments.
And things change, but they don't change enough.
Woman #2: People talked about the manifesto,
but they didn't do anything.
You'll fix that, right?
Explain why things have to change.
I think a lot of times, people think that things happen
in a really orderly fashion.
And at least as, I think, we're seeing unfold
in our own country right now, a lot of times,
it's just kind of like a half-assed thing
that doesn't fully work,
but then there's a ripple effect.
So my feeling was
that everybody's trying to change the world,
but their methods -- they're not fully fleshed out.
But are they ever? Do we ever really know
what the effect of our actions is gonna be?

These are the old reports on Stanley.
It's everything he's trying to make disappear.
It's not good.
Stanley was always fastidious about making women
who don't fall in love with him disappear.
You must have really fallen in love with him
at some point, huh?
Noxon: As we have seen over the course of the recent past,
you know, a lot of women are complicit
in really abusive power structures
and untangling the whys of that, you know, is a lifetime job,
but I think that Kitty is deeply in the belly of that beast.
Like, she knows all kinds of bad things that have been covered up
over the years.
Why didn't you bring this to our attention years ago?
I normalized his abhorrent behavior
as a means of survival.
Noxon: Kitty, to me, her only goal is up.
I think "more" is Kitty's favorite word.
What do you want, Kitty?
Do you know what my view is right now?
An air-conditioning unit.
I want fresh air.
[Inhales deeply]
I want the breeze at the very top, boys.
Marguiles: Oh, Kitty.
It was my favorite moment because it made me realize
that Kitty only cares about herself.

and appoint Kitty Montgomery, C.E.O.

Noxon: On a deeper level,
I think Kitty is a person without a self,
and so she's always trying to figure out how to survive,
which makes her really dangerous.
But also hugely entertaining.
