Waching daily Jul 26 2018

If you have something, that you want to share with everyone out there, be

brave and do it, don't let negative comments get you

down. #NichtEgal is a project that is working for that cause.

Use the opportunity, use your voice, and take part.

Haters gonna hate, lovers gonna love. But it's the middle part that counts. I have learned that

those who insult others in the comments are often

those that just want to be heard. Always keep in mind

how you want to be treated yourself. Without sounding too lovey-dovey.

I simply want people to reflect a bit more. If you want

to discuss, why not use more respect; that is the best, right? We creators

are not the internet. You are the internet and you have made us and thus

all power is in your hands. Be aware that the digital room

influences the real world. My idea is not that

we have the same opinion all the time or that we are super duper friendly

non stop. Democracy sometimes hurts. If I

don't like the opinion of someone else, guys, than I don't say

"You are a piece of shit" or "Hey, your opinion is bullshit".

No, no guys! And this needs to be understood by everyone out there. Stay fair, stay factual,

stay constructive. Be constructive and don't just bash each other. Only that way

you can grow as a person and only that way the community starts talking.

We all love each other. Without sounding dirty. Spread the love. Yeah, the love.

But this isn't a thing we do alone. Also you can take

part with using the #NichtEgal. Take part in discussions and be a part

and be positive and constructive. Create

content yourself. No matter if it is a picture, a video or a song. Hashtag Nicht Egal.

Nicht Egal. Use your power!

Dryads, Tree Spirits - Greek Mythology - Duration: 1:12.

Dryads

In Greek mythology, they are a type of tree spirits.

Usually they are associated specifically with oak trees.

But as time goes on, they are said to be the tree spirits of any types of trees.

The dryads are usually described to be female and are quite shy.

Usually depicted with a beauty that is very ethereal.

Each dryads are born to a specific tree.

They would protect and watch over that particular tree for the rest of its life.

This is because the dryads are connected to the tree it is born to.

It is connected through life.

Meaning, if the tree dies, the dryads would also die and vice versa.

So if anyone harms the trees it inhabits, they WILL try to protect its home.

They might even punish the perpetrators to death.

There are apparently 2 types of dryads.

Ones that live inside the trees and the ones that live outside or near the trees.

RAINBOW 6 Siege & Tactical Counterplay - Duration: 3:41.

Ok, Games are more interesting, when mechanics combine -

especially when you don't have control over all the mechanics.

That's kind of the idea behind "Counterplay"- - where an opponent has the ability to counter your action.

There's two version of counters i want to talk about: "light" & "deep".

So if i'm playing a game like Melee, where a character like Samus has: the "Charge Shot".

& i don't want to get shot…

I could pick a character like Fox & counter it that has a… "whatever that is"...

The reason i'd call that a "light" counter, is because while it does ultimately succeed in "countering":

That's not really why you're going to play fox. The counter's not really why he's played -

& why would you want to pick fox

Another good example of "light counters" are: if i pick Pharah in hopes of wrecking

the enemy team & get shot by a widowmaker. Like… sure it's technically a counter -

But you could also pick Hanzo, Mccree, Soldier, or even Moira.

The enemy team doesn't HAVE TO counter with a character like… Widowmaker

It's more of a "rough guideline" rather than a "strategical law" -

The difference between a "light" counter & a "deep" one is the impact & 'back & forth mechanic' that the character provides.

I think one of the better examples i can think of is in: rainbow 6 siege, where most characters -

are equipped with an item like "a breach".

However the defending team is capable of reinforcing - essentially "using paper against your rock"

& in turn: attackers have "thermite" a: "bolt cutter to your paper".

Now interestingly enough while it's only a one way ride as of now, the defenders can

still use multiple ways of defending against your "bolt cutter strategy".

& i think that's what makes counterplay so deep counterplay so great is:

the ability to essentially create a "metagame".

Where the mechanics are fun to use on both you & your opponent - creating more meaningful & complex gameplay.

& here - - instead of "light" counterplay being an optional counter, a "deep" one:

holds more value as the actions to use & counter it hold more of an impact.

Think: enemy can insta kill me, so i'm going to give myself an invincibility shield.

Ok: back to rainbow.

Thermite has the ability to break open reinforced walls - -

EXCEPT for a counter: Bandit & the interesting "car battery".

See up to this point i've only been talking about "back & forth counters" i.e:

i''ll choose rock to beat paper.

But games don't normally stop there, & so if you continue you'll learn that an EMP -

will destroy the "car battery", one of the only things stopping Thermite from breaching.

& there's not really other abilities to counter an EMP if the player is careful, so…

given that you can't add anymore items to a game of rock paper scissors… what do you do?

You don't play "paper" until they play "rock".

When i saw this my brain realized there was more to the metagame.

Where the car battery doesn't get placed until the breach does, so you begin to play

chicken & understand each other's mentality & how to possibly counter it.

It's why in Melee, if you can play ice climbers & have both of the climbers… you can instakill your opponent -

So the counter has been to eliminate one so the strat doesn't work

& this made me realize "why haven't i seen this before outside of video games".

But i think that's what makes them special:

they make YOU create those ideas… & then they make YOU counter that idea.

I think that's why new metas come around every now & then even on games that are decades old...

Wow.

OOOOOHmehgod (can't believe) that still worked!

NEW Huda Beauty Easy Bake Loose Baking & Setting Powder | This Week in Beauty 7/26 - Duration: 3:07.

(poppy music)

- Hey, guys, I'm Roxette Arisa,

and you're watching This Week in Beauty with ipsy.

So today, we have a very exciting launch

from one of my favorite brand partners, Huda Beauty.

We all know and love Huda Beauty.

And she is back at it again with this brand new line

of Easy Bake baking powders.

I know, so exciting.

So first off, what is baking?

Baking is basically a makeup technique

that originated in the drag community,

and it's a really great technique

to make your makeup last all day long.

You can take a translucent powder

and bake underneath the eyes, and let the powder sit

for about five to 10 minutes, and then wipe it off,

and you're left with a flawless base.

And basically, the whole science behind it,

if you wanna get into the nitty-gritty,

is that, when you're baking, the heat of your skin

is actually heating up the powder

and setting the foundation and concealer,

and kind of creating an armor for your makeup.

So that's why it's gonna last all day

and leave you with that super-duper flawless finish.

And that is why Huda's new launch is so exciting.

She actually launched eight different shades,

so now it's back and better than ever,

baking is here to stay, because now even more skin tones

can achieve that perfect baked face look (laughs)

without having that white, ghostly cast over the face,

because there are eight shades, like I said before.

So these powders are so nice

because they're really, really finely milled,

they have ultra-fine pigments in there,

and they subtly color-correct and highlight

the areas that you need them to do.

They also create a really nice airbrush finish to them,

because they are so finely milled.

And like I said before, when you're baking,

you are getting that super long-lasting makeup look effect.

And these powders can blur the appearance

of pores and fine lines, as well.

So lots of fun stuff to play around with

with these new powders.

I'm gonna try to swatch some of these.

I don't really know how well this is going to go,

'cause I've never swatched, you know,

loose powders like this. (laughs)

But we'll give it a shot for you guys.

(upbeat synth music)

Mm, I can't get over the scent.

It smells so good.

(upbeat synth music)

Those are all the swatches.

Let us know in the comment section below,

what do you guys like to do while you're baking?

For me, personally, I'm always running late,

so I have to get other stuff done while I'm baking.

Sometimes that means eating.

Sometimes that means getting my water, my hydration.

But also, another little tip that I like to do

is actually to finish off some of the rest of my makeup

so that I'm still continuing my makeup routine

while I've taken the time to bake.

So I'll finish off, like, my contour, my bronzer.

Then I'll wipe away the baking powder,

and finish off highlight and blush,

and I'm pretty much good to go.

So that is it for this episode.

I'm Roxette Arisa, and thanks so much for watching

This Week in Beauty with Ipsy.

(upbeat synth music)

Sickness | Group's KidVid Cinema - Duration: 4:22.

You're watching Lifetree Kids!

This is Seth.

He loves climbing, bouncing with his brother on the tarmpoline and playing baseball with

his Dad.

One day his mom noticed something was wrong.

His neck was very swollen.

Get to the doctor and she looked at him for 3 minutes and she said, "You need to get

to the hospital immediately."

That was scary.

They did the CAT scan and I remember they came back and said "Well it's a good thing

that we did this."

Seth had an infection in his neck.

This doesn't happen very often.

And we need to transfer you now.

You're admitted to the hospital.

You can't…He can't eat at this point.

They might do surgery tonight.

His fever was going up real fast.

He was real miserable.

The doctor came in and said, "You also should know that we saw a blood clot on the CAT scan.

A blood clot means that blood can't move around in the body like it normally does.

A blood clot isn't like getting a cold or catching the flu.

It doesn't happen to many people.

And he sad, "but we'll have to deal with that after surgery.

You can't deal with that before."

And I remember thinking, "Blood clots?"

That seems kinda big."

Seth was rushed to surgery where doctors fixed the problem with his neck.

He would still have to stay in the hospital for days.

One of those days, a baseball team came by to visit.

They were helping kids to make crafts to make them feel better.

They stayed a long time and it was really fun.

A few days later, Seth was sent home.

He still had a blood clot so the family found out that they'd have to give him shots.

To help clear the blood clot away.

Hopefully it would make it smaller and smaller and eventually make it disappear.

But it would require a shot in the morning and a shot in the night, every day 7:30, no

fail.

And that was intimidating because we had to learn how to give shots.

Every time he got a shot he would get a bruise.

And so, any time he's run, any time he'd do anything…

they got sore.

Real sore.

His legs would get real sore.

He would limp a lot when he was running or walking because it hurt.

Seth had to be very careful when he was on this special medicine.

He felt powerless.

At recess, I couldn't play any sports.

I couldn't do a thing.

I couldn't play on the jungle gym and I hated not being able to climb things.

That was my favorite activity in the world.

Seth had to trust in God's power.

In the Bible, the book of Ephesians says, "This is the same mighty power that raised Christ from the dead."

God's power got Seth through a hard time.

A few days later, the family went to see the

baseball team that visited Seth while he was at the hospital.

I have a glove with them all signed and I have a helmet with it all signed.

I really loved it.

It's so amazing how God puts people in our lives to help with hard times.

After weeks of treatment, Seth went to the doctor for a checkup.

They did an ultrasound of his neck and they saw there was no clot left which was miraculous

in and of itself and they said you're good to go!

You don't need to do any more shots.

You can go home and you're shots free.

Seth is now back to playing, running and climbing.

And his family is very thankful that God healed him.

Remember, that when you're powerless…Jesus rescues.

Teaching Your Dog to Give You Eye Contact | Pet Training - Duration: 1:54.

Hi there I'm Danielle Hodges and I'm here with Peyton the Bulldog and we're

gonna work on a little behaviour called 'watch me'. Watch me is a really fabulous

cue that a lot of people don't think of introducing and what it does it allows

you to get your dog to look away from a distraction and look you in the eyes.

So if you're out on a walk and your dog is getting fixated on the squirrel or

anything else that you might see and you know your dog is gonna become nervous

and you need to get their attention away from them then you would ask for 'watch me'

and get them to turn to look at you. So let's see how Payten does. Oh, hi!

Alright, so the way that we introduce the 'watch me' cue is we teach a dog that

rather than looking at the treat we want them to look away from the treat and add

our eyes and as soon as they look at our eyes we're gonna reinforce them. So if I

hold this treat on Payten's nose and then I move it away from my shoulder

over here, so pretend this thing in my hand is a squirrel. Yes!

The minute that she turns to look me in the eyes and actually makes eye contact

I reinforce that behaviour. There's lots of things for your dog to see that are

more interesting than you, so you've got to be the most interesting

thing in the room to your dog. The temptation is to say something or to cue

her but I'm not gonna do anything I'm just gonna wait. Yeah! Good girl! Once you

get that eye contact behaviour really reliably then you can add the cue of

'watch me'. So when I put the treat on her nose I hold it out here and I say 'watch me'

and then I wait. Yes! At some point if you're patient enough your dog will look

away from the trigger and look you in the eyes, the trick is patience. A lot of

people give up way too soon with this. Good job Peyten! If you like any of those

training tips we've got plenty more over at cbc.ca/life. Come on Peyten

you got this
