Waching daily Jul 28 2018

hey it's patti scharf CPA and co-founder of catching clouds the leader in

e-commerce accounting and today I want to talk about not putting all your eggs

in one basket this video was actually inspired by and dedicated to Hector

Garcia CPA he's a friend and colleague of mine and I'm going to talk more about

him later but before I get into that I want to talk to all my ecommerce sellers

out there you know when when I first went into business for myself I remember

a lot of people were like well isn't that scary like like it you you have

this good job why would you quit and go work for yourself isn't that risky and

the thing that I always understood and I I think a lot of people didn't really

get was that I think it's a lot riskier to work for one employer who the your

fate your professional fate rests in their hands than it is to go work for

lots of different people so like if I have let's say I have five clients and

one client fires me I only lose 20% of my revenue I don't lose a hundred

percent of my revenue so I never really saw owning a business as risky as other

people said it was I think ecommerce is a little bit different because there are

so many people out there who are selling only on one platform maybe they're just

selling on Amazon and they may have lots of different customers but really if

Amazon shuts you down for reasons beyond your control

you really are you're kind of screwed you know that that's that's putting your

entire business in the fate of one company that's why a lot of businesses a

lot of e-commerce sellers will sell on multiple platforms they'll saw on Amazon

and Shopify and eBay just to have a little bit of diversity so if something

happens to one they don't lose all of their business

another thing and I see this all the time if people only have one payment

processor and then something happens to the payment processor or they shut you

down for some reason now you can't take on any more sales so

so a lot of sellers have at least two different payment processor types so if

one's failing for some reason the other one can pick up the steam and then this

is one thing that I've seen multiple times and it it always surprises me

every time I see it let's say you're using something like Shopify

you have a credit card on file that page or $39 a month fee and I don't know your

credit card gets hacked or something and they cancel that card they issue you a

new card and you forget to change the credit card that you have on file with

Shopify and then the month comes around and the $39 can't be charged and so what

Shopify will do is is it will hold on to any of the money that is collected on

your behalf until you rectify the situation pay them their $39 and we've

seen companies who have had hundreds of thousands of dollars held for weeks

because they didn't pay their $39 fees so make sure that you stay on top of

that one when you do it okay so now I'm getting to Hector Hector and I first met

and I think was 2014 or 2015 we were having a discussion about Intuit versus

zero and he's all in on into it I'm all in on zero which side note you might

think like contradicts they don't have you're all eggs in one basket thing but

there's a difference between specialization and strategic development

like if if I was concerned that zero was gonna go under he was concerned that it

into it was going to go under then you know we might have a different approach

but both of us feel like they're solid platforms gonna be around for a long

time they have no interest in shutting us down

they they they want to see us succeed just as much as we want to see them

succeed so so that's a different issue altogether but

but I met Hector in like 2014 or 2015 we talked about like why are you on Intuit

products why why are you on zero and we had a nice discussion we actually ended

up writing a couple of blog posts a few years back I'll put links to him down

below so you can read those it was really interesting anyway so Hector is a

force to be reckoned with he is just an amazing teacher everybody and then the

intuit community knows and loves him he is super passionate about teaching

everything he knows about QuickBooks QuickBooks Online everything else he is

on YouTube has like seventy thousand subscribers or something at the moment

and he's posted over 500 videos over the last I'd say four years so he's just

he's he's all-in on YouTube and and the world loves him right and for some

unknown reason about two days ago YouTube just decided to shut off his

account no reason given no idea what's going on and obviously it really has him

rattled but hey I want everybody who's watching this video to go tweet at

YouTube and ask them what the holy hell are you doing because it's just stupid

he is such such a powerful force in this community doing good and helping small

businesses and other accountants and everything that it would just be a

massive disservice to the world at large to take his videos down so everybody go

yell at YouTube about that but it reminded me of this whole concept of not

putting all your eggs in one basket he had he had such intensity about YouTube

and taught classes on YouTube and how to do everything and whatever that it

really kind of pulled the rug out from under him when they shut him down and I

have every confidence that it's going to come back up but but even so I think

that as a business owner you really need to take a look at what it is in your

business that are your most vulnerable points so that

you can protect yourself first for sure you like in Hector's case he had copies

of all of his videos so it wasn't like they just shut him down and he didn't

have all that information he can put all those videos on another platform and he

has such a large following he's going to land on his feet no matter what he does

but what if you have what if you're selling on Amazon and Amazon shuts you

down

building that whole ecosystem for your business back up is going to be a real

challenge so I guess those are just my thoughts today on my Saturday slow down

if you like this video please like comment and share if you haven't already

5 TIPS ON BUYING AND SELLING SNEAKERS IN BULK - Duration: 6:40.

Yo, what's happening everybody we've been gone for a while and I'm sorry, I'm really really sorry but

We got another great video

My name is DJ is your boy AJ and we are the DNA show and today

We got some kicks for y'all know we're gonna teach you guys how to buy and sale in bulk

Would you should look for these are the tips let's get to it. Well the intro

Crash pads and ashore

It's like a fresh pants in a shoe

You know fresh pants and shoes now that you've seen the kicks

What do you think about them where there's some good pick ups and some bad pick ups?

That's the question nine times out of ten

You're gonna have some good pick ups and some bad pick ups when you're buying in bulk. It's just always like that

So let's go ahead and get into the first thing you want to do

You want to make sure that you know exactly who you're selling to or I find the buyer first

Know exactly what people want that makes it a lot easier

Once you have the kick to them be able to sell it step number two finding the shoes

So you found the buyer now, you need to ask those bars. What do they want?

What are they interested in and like you said the market you got to understand the market once you know what they want

It's a little bit easier to find the shoes because you can hunt down these kids an easy way for me is buying through

Friends buying through somebody I know because I can contact my friends and say hey

I know you're a sneaker head what you got for me. I'm interested. I want to buy your collection

I wanna buy your kicks

Okay

So you want to make sure that you buy as local as possible?

If you can't buy from your friends by for Craigslist

There's a bunch of apps out there that have local markets that you can buy from you want to make sure you do it safe

Though and by doing it safe

If you're not confident in the authentication process make sure you go to your local sneaker shops for us is index, Portland

So come down the index and you can do authentication process through there and they'll help you out through the process

step process a lot of times

So let's go to the next step I once you get the kitchen and make sure that you organize a list you want to make

Sure that you're always

organized with selling kicks because

It gets out of hand, especially if you're buying in a crazy bulk view

So what we like to do is make sure that we buy Jordans and we organize them by

Numerical order ones with ones twos with twos we some time go by year

Sometimes not but it depends on the boat deal if you have Nikes

Jordans and Adidas green box doesn't matter what brand it is

Make sure that you group those together and then it makes it a lot easier to be able to

And then sometimes if you have buyers and specific sizes and you buy multiple sizes

Then you got a boat by number and size and then you know, there's a bunch of different ways

But just make sure you're organized because you don't want to come with somebody and say hey

I want

$8,000 for all this stuff and you're not organized and it just it's not gonna be right people want it to be smooth and clean

And just real simple Excel will be your best friend

So now that you have the list compiled everything's ready to go. The next step is take some good photos

That's what you got to do. Everybody wants to see the details of the sneaker if it's new. It's easy

but you still need to snap a shot cuz sometimes people just want to

Get that confirmation and knowing hey that she was here. Don't send me on a text for me. I want to see the photo

Most definitely not days

Because Jordans come with a lot of flaws, and a lot of people want to make sure that they're getting pairs and all flaws

So if you're gonna buy a used pair of kicks

You want to make sure that you get the front of the shoe gonna make sure you get the toe box

Some people want to see the insole to see how worn the kick is

make sure you get the sole of the kick and any

Defects with the shoe doesn't matter if it's a shoelace tip that's missing or a small scratch on the insole

You want to make sure that you get every single defect in detail?

Because the last thing you want to do is have somebody come back and say hey I didn't know about this

I want my money back. Right exactly and me I try to shoot for three to five photos if it's a use shoe

I try to be very efficient with my photos. Maybe we can show you guys a couple examples on what we would do and uh

Let's let's just show you right now

So yeah after seeing the pictures, um

that's just a real simple way on how we would like to do it just to let people get an understanding of the sneaker and

What they got to buy most definitely

So once you have everything organized once you have all your photos, you want to make sure that you contact your buyers, right?

So you organize your buyers, you know most times you organized by size first and foremost

And then you have some buyers who do want to make money

So it doesn't really matter the size right but when you're buying in bulk you want to make sure that you're getting the best

price possible

So then once you do sale you're making some money

That goes what I was saying, obviously, there's some people don't really know that

So you want to make sure that when you're contacting your buyers they know exactly what it is that they're getting sighs

What year of the shoe you might have, you know nine true-blue or you might have a oh three, right, right

I want to make sure that they know exactly what it is that they're getting

So we hope that these tips help you guys if you guys have any more questions comments or concerns

Please comment down below. You already know what's up, and don't forget to use the hashtag DNA fan

We got some more stuff coming very very soon. We're gonna be out in LA. So

Sneaker comment. We'll see you guys soon. Hey, we might be buying soon. I'm saying sooner lat what else you got?

See you in LA soon

Now that you've found the kicks it's time to okay

Part One | Greater Terran Union | Stellaris Invicta - Duration: 10:12.

In 2200, after over a decade of automated tests and experiments, the TUS Hawking completed

the first manned faster than light jump to a distant star system.

It arrived in Alpha Centauri, over 4.3 light years from Earth, and in that moment the destiny

of humanity and the Greater Terran Union was made manifest.

By the end of the year, the TUS Hawking had become just one of an ever-expanding fleet

of ships passing across the boundaries of the Solar System and into the unknown.

Humanity had learned, at great cost, that they were not alone and while no evidence

of a second invasion by their great enemy was detected, the search for answers as to

the nature of the galaxy raised only more questions.

Ancient ruins were uncovered on nearby worlds, derelict alien starships discovered, scientific

anomalies found, and new forms of primitive life encountered that challenged the Union's

greatest minds.

In the face of endless mysteries, the Greater Terran Union was not deterred.

In 2206, construction began on a colony ship, one that would transport tens of thousands

of citizens to a carefully selected site on a planet within the Sirius system.

A year later, on Christmas Eve, these first pioneers arrived and set foot on a new world,

not merely as explorers but as settlers.

Even as all humanity celebrated this tremendous achievement, survey vessels operating on the

frontier of explored space began encountering signals that were undeniably alien in origin.

After months of chasing sensor ghosts, a ship of unknown origin was finally directly observed

by a Union exploratory vessel.

Panic swept across the Greater Terran Union and for the first time the assorted patrol

ships and fast attack craft that constituted the Terran Interstellar Navy were deployed

to the frontier.

As Terran linguists struggled to find a means to communicate, High Marshall Natasha Fox

together with the National Council debated how best to respond.

The ship had not acted aggressively and seemed entirely different in nature to those that

had attacked Earth, but with the prospect of a second hostile alien race within striking

distance, there were those who urged a pre-emptive attack.

In a narrow vote held behind closed doors, it was decided the ship would continue to

be observed, but not engaged.

In 2209, the means of communication were finally established and diplomats of the Greater Terran

Union were formally introduced to the Algan Republic.

While the Polenian species that made up the Algan Republic exhibited none of the determined

hostility that defined mankind's earlier contact with an alien race, differences in

culture and governance prevented any meaningful agreements from taking place.

In a matter of months, all borders were closed and the Greater Terran Union began an aggressive

campaign to claim and fortify star systems that might become the site of a future invasion.

On Earth, xenophobia spread like wildfire and radical factions quickly materialized

in every tier of Terran society.

In 2211, several of these fringe groups began openly attacking mining outposts across Union

space.

The largest of these piracy elements, led by a disgraced former member of the Terran

military, known to his followers as "Romulus Chuck," demanded the creation of a Holy

Solar Empire and the annihilation of the Algan Republic, before he and his followers were

destroyed by Terran warships over Alpha Centauri.

Mass arrests followed, the right to assembly was briefly suspended, and Fleet Command was

formally cemented as the primary space warfare branch of the Armed Forces.

It was quickly expanded to deter further acts of piracy.

While these setbacks raised some concern over the pace of human expansion, rising tensions

with the Algan Republic and the likelihood that other, potentially dangerous alien civilizations

lay undiscovered just past the frontier spurred the Union onward.

The fledgling colony on Sirius III, newly renamed "Acadia" was soon joined by others

on worlds in the Alpha Centauri System and elsewhere.

A network of communication and supply bases were constructed and as the first colonists

were quickly joined by millions upon millions of their fellow citizens from Earth, humanity

was transformed into a truly interstellar society.

In 2216, first contact was established with the United Clans of Skiron and more signals

were detected by reconnaissance probes each following year.

Seemingly surrounded by space faring civilizations, plans were quickly enacted to seize as much

territory as possible before formal communications could be established.

In 2220, one such species was finally discovered.

Yet unlike those previously encountered, the Wassari civilization had not yet developed

the means of faster than light travel, but was seemingly only years away.

Located within a strategically important star system rich in natural resources, the National

Council and the newly inaugurated High Marshall Lee Martin convened an emergency session.

In another close vote, held after a series of emotionally charged debates, it was determined

that should the Wassari develop faster than light technology, it would represent a clear

and present danger to the national interest of the Greater Terran Union.

In 2222, Terran Fleet Command destroyed a primitive space station in orbit of the Wassari

homeworld, followed shortly thereafter by a coordinated orbital assault.

Hopelessly outmatched by superior human weaponry and military doctrine, the Wassari quickly

capitulated.

The annexation of the Wassari sent shockwaves through the Union.

While almost all its citizenry had advocated a "humanity first" and interventionist

approach, the actions of the National Council were seen as shocking.

Questions prevailed over how the Wassari would be integrated into the Union and whether the

invasion of their homeworld had been justified.

Some even suggested that by invading the world of a primitive species, the Greater Terran

Union had become the very thing it had vowed to destroy.

At least one Marshall was forced to resign when leaked documents revealed he supported

the invasion of the Wassari only to determine the effectiveness of the Terran armed forces

against an opponent that was not likely to pose a serious long-term threat.

While the justification and ramifications of the invasion continued to be debated, the

colonization efforts continued.

Hundreds of outposts and stations were constructed across dozens of star systems and every month

brought news of new alien contacts and bizarre anomalies.

While most alien civilizations seemed unreceptive to human values and worked to counter the

Union's ambitions, the United Clans of Skiron, themselves surrounded by hostile alien powers,

worked to ingratiate themselves amongst Terran diplomats and by 2240, a limited technical

exchange had been agreed to as well as a preliminary defense pact.

The Greater Terran Union, if not welcomed into some grand galactic community, had, if

nothing else, been recognized as an equal of the other powers of the region.

The vast emptiness of space that for millennia had challenged humanity to seize it now teems

with Terran colonies and stations, alien empires, and ancient mysteries.

Yet as even more distant civilizations are contacted, and humanity's knowledge of the

galaxy extends ever outward, it is a familiar story that is of the greatest concern to High

Marshal Lee.

Desperate refugees encountered across the frontier territories tell of an implacable

enemy they call the "Tyrum" that has consumed entire worlds, annihilating their populations

before moving onto the next.

Terran field agents have spent decades travelling across the stars, seeking the origin of these

reports and their findings have finally made it back to Earth.

There can be no mistake, the Tyrum, the great enemy of all mankind has been found, far too

distant for now, but perhaps not for much longer.

How they might have travelled to Earth, and what has prevented them from returning remains

unknown, but the answer might be found in one of the strange alien derelicts encountered

by the Union, which for now, remain dormant.

THE KINDA EMO TOUR! (HUGE ANNOUNCEMENT) - Duration: 12:10.

(screams) (heavy metal music plays)

- We're going on tour!

Nevermind, it's canceled.

- Alexa, play rock music.

- 'Cause sometimes to stay alive,

you gotta kill your blinds.

Hey everyone and welcome back to the CrankThatFrank channel,

the only channel on YouTube where you can get

family friendly alternative content

and I'm very, very excited to announce

Eva will be coming on every single date.

(beep)

You whipped me, you whipped my hair.

- I whipped so good.

(distortion)

(both laugh)

Example one. - Oh my God.

- Of why we're together.

Ah! - Buy tickets. (both laugh)

(beep) - I'm making this a mess

and it's only like the first minute.

- So, (both laugh)

geez. (beep)

- We have to compose (mumbles)

(Frank laughs)

(mumbles)

M'kay.

(beep)

And then, the final show is going to be November forth!

- Ee. - in Los Angeles, California.

- It's gon' be great.

- It's gonna be a lot of fun.

Now that we explained all the dates to you guys

for way too long. - Yep.

- We're gonna break down how tickets work

and where you can buy them and everything.

So firstly, if you wanna buy a ticket,

go to fullscreenlive.com.

If you go there, you'll be directed to the homepage,

if you want a direct link to our tour,

then click the link, the first link in the description,

at the very top of the description, you can get tickets.

Every ticket comes with a meet and greet.

- Every one.

- If you come to the show, you get to meet us.

- Mm-hm.

- Every single one of you, everyone, I wanna stress this.

If you come to the show...

- You have to meet us. - You have a meet and greet.

You... - You have to--

- You have to. (beep)

You don't have to. - You don't, you have to.

- If you would like to meet us, we would love to meet you.

I love meeting you guys

and we wanted to make sure every single ticket

comes with a meet and greet.

So to break down tickets, there's three tiers.

First one, is general admission

which is the meet and greet and admission.

That's a post-show meet and greet,

a picture and an autograph.

Autographs I should say.

- Autographs.

- Eva's is much better than mine.

- It is, you'll see.

- Then there's VIP which is early entrance,

pre-show meet and greet,

and you also get a VIP laminate and a VIP poster.

There's gonna be tour exclusive merch by the way.

- That might possibly say Kinda Emo on it.

- It could. - Maybe.

- No promises, I'm just saying it could say that

and this merch you can't get anywhere else.

You have to get it on tour.

And of course that comes with the picture

and the autographs as well.

- And... - The big one.

- Last one. - With the red B emoji.

The big one.

All-access VIP.

- But what do they get?

- I just wanna say, this is for like the super yeemos.

- Like-- - Sounds like superheroes.

If you're super emo, this is the ticket package for you.

It's super limited, we're not gonna have many for each show.

If you are a hardcore yeemo,

all-access VIP.

You get, first entry into the venue.

- Number one.

- Number one.

The best spots in the venue for the show,

so you're gonna have the best seats or standing.

- Or standing. - Or barricade.

However it's set up.

- Barricade sounds more emo.

- We might open up the pit.

- You can dab in the pit.

- The dab, imagine a pit with just dabbing.

- Emo, wait-- - Wait, we're--

- A mosh pit of dabbing.

- What about a wall of dab?

- We need to stop. (beep)

- A pre-show meet and greet

and this meet and greet is like, I wouldn't even,

I'm calling it a meet and greet

but it's more like a hangout session.

Like we are gonna hang deep.

Do you wanna talk to us for a really long period of time?

Do you wanna hang out with us, do you wanna get to know us,

do you wanna ask us deep questions,

do you wanna find out the meaning of life,

then you get the all-access VIP package.

- Do you have the answer to the meaning of life?

- Find out on the Kinda Emo tour. (beep)

But no, in all seriousness guys,

we're gonna become like best friends.

- We're gonna be like this.

- We're gonna be talking for that long.

- Yeah. - It's gonna be great.

Then you get the all-access VIP laminate, a VIP poster,

picture and the autographs,

and you also get exclusive Fullscreen Live tour merch.

- Ye.

- Now that we've broken down the three ticket tiers,

why don't we explain what we're gonna be doing at the shows.

- I don't know, it's probably gonna be kinda emo.

- There you go everyone. (beep)

We wanted to do something extremely fun and also interactive

but interactive in the way

that it's voluntarily interactive.

- Yeah, we're not forcing you.

- Like we're not gonna randomly

pick someone out of the crowd, you know what I mean,

because I personally hate that.

- I'm anxiety. (laughs)

- Yeah, we'll have like, I don't know,

like a box you could put your name in or something.

But we wanna do stuff that's fun and interactive

and kinda emo. - Yes,

and I think you guys are gonna love it.

- If you're kinda emo.

- This tour is for you.

- You took the words out of my mouth.

- I know.

- Guys, it's gonna be so much fun.

I'm really excited

and I can't wait to hang out with you guys,

put on a show for you guys.

- Yeah. - That's kinda crazy to say.

- We're so musically talented,

you're gonna listen to us sing.

- There's no promises we'll be singing.

- Maybe.

- This show is G note free.

So guys, what we want from you is if you buy tickets,

they're available today by the way.

- You go do that right now.

- Go buy a ticket.

- Well, finish watching this video.

- Right now. - And then go do that.

- Or open up a new tab.

We want you to screenshot when you buy a ticket,

show us like the confirmation that you got a ticket.

- Mm-hm.

- And tweet it to us or tag us on Instagram.

- Mm-hm.

- I'll be looking through both and if you tweet us

maybe you'll get a retweet.

I'll be following people at random.

- So we're both gonna be stalking you guys

when you show us your screenshots, your proof.

- Stalking in a nice way. - In a nice way,

like in a positive way.

- Likes and retweets and all that good stuff.

I wanna see who's coming and I just, it's really fun.

- Yeah, this is our first ever tour so we're like--

- This is like years in the making, like leading up to this.

You guys know from what I said

in my tour announcement video,

I'm just so thankful for you guys

for allowing this to happen

and I feel like we've all been waiting for so long.

- Mm-hm.

- We are gonna make this the best, most fun,

family friendly show.

- Family friendly Kinda Emo show.

- Kinda Emo show there ever is

and I'm getting way too soft right now but--

- I will cry, I'm probably gonna cry on tour. (laughs)

Like why are-- - Crying is welcome.

- Why are you here?

I'm just a big emo lump. (Frank laughs)

I'm a emo potato.

- Water balloon.

Also guys, if you want to,

we were being very cryptic on the tour accounts

that you can follow on Twitter and Instagram,

they're both @KindaEmoTour. - Mm-hm.

And you could use the hashtag what, what hastag?

- Okay, so we were using hashtag KE18, (Eva laughs)

and apparently that's a flight to Korea.

- Oh yeah.

- So everyone was like,

"Oh my God, Frank and Eva are flying to Korea,"

and in my head I'm like, "No, we're going on tour."

(both laugh)

Now, use the hashtag Kinda Emo.

We're done being cryptic.

I'm never being cryptic again.

If I'm every cryptic, take a screenshot of this video

right now, print it out, crumple it up

and throw it at my face.

I'm never being cryptic again, I missed so much this week.

Again guys, we're very, very excited

and I can't wait to meet all of you.

- Every single-- - 100% of you.

- One. - On tour, tour.

- Tour?

- A real actual tour.

Also a question I got asked was,

"Is this tour unironically going to be family friendly?"

And the answer is yes.

So if there's any parents watching

and you want to bring your child to the show,

there will be no swearing or anything like dirty

or anything like that, it'll be 100% family friendly.

Don't worry, I can't bleep myself live.

I will not say one single swear word, I promise.

Alright guys, that's gonna do it for today's video.

I'm very sorry that we were very cryptic on you guys

and I didn't upload this week but

we wanted to build some excitement

and I was laughing through my screen.

- We both were.

- I was looking around and I was like,

"Okay, now I know what those Pilot boys feel like."

But anyway guys, we're so excited, can't wait to see you,

we love you very much and I will see you in the next video.

You can also check out Eva's video that she posted today

which is tour makeup as you can see.

Our color scheme is kind of like red and black.

- Hence why I'm not wearing all black.

- But where whatever you want.

Just make it emo.

Alright guys, I'll see you in the next video.

You've just been spanked

by CrankThatFrank, woo!

Stay wickedly frosty and Kinda Emo!

(both screech)

REE!

Swat, swat, swat, swat, swat, swat, swat, swat, swat, swat,

swat, swat, swat, swat, swat, swat.

What If The Levyatan Melvillei Didn't Go Extinct? - Duration: 4:52.

The Livyatan melvilly was named after the biblical sea monster leviathan.

If you haven't read the bible, the leviathan was a sea monster, resembling a serpent, that

was a metaphor for a powerful enemy.

Later on in history, the livyatan became a term used for great whale, as we saw in Herman

Melville's classic book, Moby Dick.

And that's exactly what the Livyatan was, a species of sperm whale that's been extinct

for about 9 million years.

Hense the two names livyatan melvillei And it was nothing short of bad ass.

But if it hadn't gone extinct, would the world we know today be much different than

it is?

Or would history have changed completely?

Today, life's biggest questions asks, what if the Livyatan didn't go extinct.

Hello and welcome back to life's biggest questions.

The channel that imagines the impossible.

I'm your host, charlotte dobre, and this is where I ask you to smash the thumbs up,

subscribe and ask us a question in the comments below.

The livyatan was discovered rather recently.

It was first documented back in 2008 when a skull was found at Cerro Colorado, a desert

in Arizona that was once a huge body of water.

Livyatan lived during the Tortonian stage of the Miocene epoch, which took place betweek

9.9 and 8.9 million years ago.

Unlike most modern whales, the livyatan was an apex predator that ate other whales and

large mammals.

For comparison, The sperm whales that currently exist munch on giant squid.

It also had huge teeth, some over a foot long, that would allow it to bite of large portions

of flesh.

Its likely that the livyatan didn't even eat entire bodies of the prey it consumed.

Similar to sperm whales, the livyatan was around 44 to 57 feet in length, and weighed

up to 50 tons.

It is one of the largest carnivorous predators that has ever walked, or rather swam on planet

earth.

Experts believed that the livyatan was a fighter.

It would ram its huge head into other whales.

It is also believed that the livyatan may have come into contact with our old friend

the megalodon shark.

A giant whale actually competed with a giant shark for food.

Can you imagine how epic a fight between a giant predatory whale and a massive shark

would be?

Maybe that's a topic for another life's biggest questions… but back on topic.

The livyatan's hunting style was similar to orcas, where it would isolate pray, pursue

it, and then drown it.

Unlike killer whales though, the livyatan probably hunted alone.

At the end of the Miocene era, the world began to cool, which caused much of the food livyatan

preyed on to die.

But what if somehow, livyatan managed to survive this global cooling, and lived on?

Firstly, if livyatans didn't go extinct, we would likely see far fewer modern whales,

dolphins, and seals in the oceans.

As I previously stated, the livyatan ate large marine mammals, and it ate a lot of them.

Once the megalodon sharks went extinct, it would have had virtually no other apex predators

to compete with.

The megalodon shark and the livyatan lived in the same part of the globe, near peru,

and evidence of both have been found at Cerro Colorado.

Without megalodon, Livyatan would reign king of the ocean.

Because the livyatan needed a lot of food, it would spend the winters near the equator,

and follow migration routes to the north and south pole in the summer.

We would see thousands of carcasses belonging to mid sized marine mammals washed up on beaches

with chunks missing from the livyatan's bite.

In terms of human history, there would be a lot more stories, legends and folk tales

about livyatan.

Yes, we have Moby Dick, but the sea monster in Herman Melville's book was fictional.

There would be far more mentions of a giant predatory sperm whale in inca history.

Perhaps the incas would have even thought of livyatan as a god.

Tourists that visited peru, along with alpaca merch, would be greeted by stuffed livyatans,

posters and memorabilia.

Inuit peoples who hunted whales for thousands of years, and still do today, would have come

into direct contact with livyatan.

Whales are an important part of inuit culture, and entire communities would live off whale

catches.

Perhaps inuit peoples would have not even settled where they did, in northern Canada

and greenland.

When they made the choice to live there, there were no other predators, and food was easy

to come by.

This would not be so if livyatan had not gone extinct.

Inuits would have to compete with livyatan for food.

And lastly, lets not forget the Vikings, who would have also had to deal with livyatan.

Norsemen kitchen waste from Greenland has been found to be rich in whale dna.

It can also be assumed that Vikings would have come into contact with levyatan, but

we dont know much about how they would have interacted, as humans and livyatan have never

lived alongside each other.

Maybe livyatan would have stayed away from Viking boats, maybe it would have rammed them

with its head, taking chunks out of them, thinking they were whales.

We just don't know, we can only guess.

If the latter is an option, livyatan would have made sea travel extremely difficult.

Otherwise, not much would have been different when it comes to human history.

Awesome Remakes You Didn't Know Were Happening - Duration: 4:04.

Hollywood loves remakes and reboots.

Returning to time-tested franchises is irresistible to big studios that know nostalgia is a hell

of a drug, and that there's plenty of new money to be made when reviving an old cash

cow.

There are so many remakes in the works, in fact, that some might have slipped past your

radar.

Here are a few awesome remakes you probably didn't know were happening.

Child's Play

Remakes are nothing new in the horror genre.

And now it looks like a certain Good Guy doll will terrorize a new generation of moviegoers.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, MGM is "fast-tracking" a Child's Play remake with

Norwegian director Lars Klevberg, produced by the same guys who produced the 2017 It

remake.

There's no word yet on who will star, but as for the plot, Collider reports that the

new Child's Play will take a page from the Stranger Things playbook, as it will involve

a group of kids working together to fight the demonic doll.

But things might get a bit messy in the Child's Play universe.

Universal Studios still intends to produce a Chucky TV series and more sequels as part

of the original Child's Play franchise, all starring Brad Dourif, the guy who's voiced

the wisecracking killer since 1988.

"No more Mr. Good Guy!"

The Witches

According to Variety, Forrest Gump and Back to the Future director Robert Zemeckis is

remaking 1990's The Witches, a freaky film based one of Roald Dahl's creepiest novels.

The plot involves a young boy on vacation who discovers a coven of witches that plans

on turning England's children into mice.

The original starred Anjelica Huston as the villainous Grand High Witch, with a wonderfully

over-the-top German accent.

The new version doesn't have a cast or a director as of the making of this video, but it will

reportedly be more faithful to Dahl's novel.

Guillermo del Toro was supposed to cast his own spell on the remake, but now he's only

co-producing, alongside Gravity director Alfonso Cuaron.

With four Oscars and dozens of other awards between the two of them, that's a lot of talent

behind the scenes, which gives us high hopes for this remake.

The Sword in the Stone

Continuing their streak of producing live-action remakes of their classic animated films, Disney

is reportedly working on a new version of 1963's The Sword in the Stone.

This whimsical cartoon told the familiar story of a young King Arthur training under the

magical and musical tutelage of the wise old wizard Merlin.

"Hail King Arthur!

Hail King Arthur!"

The first film was a lighthearted romp that involved enchanted dishes, squirrel romance,

and a shapeshifting wizard battle.

The remake, however, might be a tad darker.

It's being directed by Juan Carlos Fresnadillo, the guy behind 28 Weeks Later, and the screenplay

will be written by Bryan Cogman, who's written multiple episodes of Game of Thrones.

So when the movie makes its premiere on Disney's upcoming streaming service, expect something

a bit more grown-up than the original.

Uptown Saturday Night

Released in 1974, the original Uptown Saturday Night features a big-name cast, including

Sidney Poitier, Richard Pryor, Harry Belafonte and Bill Cosby.

The plot involves two buddies who get held up after visiting a nightclub, and during

the robbery, they lose a lottery ticket worth $50,000.

Determined to get the ticket back, the duo start searching for the crooks who made off

with their fortune.

Anchorman director Adam McKay was initially supposed to direct the upcoming remake, according

to the Hollywood Reporter, and the lead roles were meant for Will Smith and Denzel Washington.

Sadly, that never panned out, but now Kevin Hart is tackling the project.

There's no word yet on who will star opposite him, but we do know the screenplay will be

written by Kenya Barris, the creator of ABC's Black-ish.

Point Blank

Frank Grillo and Anthony Mackie have played bitter enemies in the Captain America franchise,

trading put-downs and punches as Crossbones and Falcon, respectively.

Now the two are going to butt heads again in a remake of Point Blank, a 2010 French

action flick which boasts an impressive 91 percent on Rotten Tomatoes.

According to Collider, Mackie will play a nurse whose pregnant wife gets kidnapped by

the brother of a hospitalized murder suspect who wants to make a trade.

As you can probably guess, Grillo plays the murder suspect, and based off his antagonistic

chemistry with Mackie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, we're pretty sure Point Blank will

be one intense thriller when it premieres on Netflix.

Emotional Fluffer with Hanna Dickinson - Roast of Bruce Willis - Duration: 2:22.

- Hi, I'm here with Samm Levine.

I'm an Emotional Fluffer, so as you know,

as soon as you walked in that door, you're up for grabs.

So you can be roasted at any moment in time.

- Oh my goodness. I didn't know Emotional Fluffer

was a job title.

I've been filling our my Unemployment records all wrong.

- Yeah, well, I get paid.

So I'm technically employed.

- Fair enough.

(upbeat music)

- If you were to be roasted do you have anything

that you'd be afraid of, people would say to you?

- My lisp. My lisp.

It just comes out when I talk about it.

So please don't talk about it.

- It's a pretty strong lisp.

- Yes, thank you so much.

- But you mask it well.

- Yeah, thank you so much.

- Last time they like called me, they said I have a

flat ass, which is true.

Like, come at me.

Anything you could ever say about me, I've already

thought about myself.

- That's exactly, yeah.

- And I'm excited, honestly.

I'm like, did Martha Stewart google me?

Like, she had to like, maybe google.

I'm like so flattered.

- I'm pretty thick skinned.

I don't embarrassed that easily.

I wrote on the roast, so.

- So you're already so talented you just,

nothing affects you?

- I just..

- Ooohh yeah, she got you.

- If you were getting roasted, what would you be afraid

that people would make fun of you for?

- Any YouTube comment that has called me a fat *****.

- Okay, I'm afraid that people are gonna

all me a fat *****.

- Ooooooooo, well, you're looking great.

- Thank you. You too, darling.

Thank you.

- I have to say you are the least threatening man,

and as a man in Hollywood right now,

that is the nicest thing I could say.

- Oh, thanks. (laughs)

- I'm an Emotional Fluffer so my job is to get you hard.

- Alright.

- So when you get up there..

- Okay.

- You're just ready to go.

- I'm ready.

- Alright.

- You know what I mean?

- I think I do.

- I'm gonna get you, getting you ready to be roasted.

Dulce, you're so fine.

You sound like a candy.

You should be Godiva because I wanna go god-diving

in your panty drawer.

- Ooooooooooo, girl that was so sweet.

- Okay.

_ It's been a long time for your girl.

- More like Adam Lusting for that dick.

- Oooohhhhh, flattered.

I'm flattered. Oooohhhh!

- Your Rogaine's worst nightmare, baby.

- You are so sweet to your guests.

- Yes, I think I be probably the only guy up there

- And I know you're known for your rebounds,

and I would love to rebound with you.

You know what I mean?

I'm gonna be thinking about you.

I'm gonna be.

- You say you're wide open.

Double your 4, baby.

White females only.

- (laughs) Okay. Alright.

BEGINNING A YOUTUBE CHANNEL IN 2018 (BEGINNERS) - Duration: 8:00.

You want to make a YouTube channel? Well I have a few tips to tell you before you

make that first video right now. Hello creator what's going on welcome back to

another video. If you're new here and you need someone to help aid and assist you

with growing your YouTube channel and editing then consider subscribing to the

channel right here and make sure to hit that notification bell to know exactly

when I upload a new video. Now beginning your YouTube channel may be a little

hard you might not know what exactly what you need to do that's why I'm here

to tell you a couple of things it's get you started and help you like know what

you have to do before you make that very first video. Now let's jump in.

Number one: pick a niche. If you don't know what a niche is or a niche depending on your

preference that's what you do on your channel. Gaming could be your niche, music

it to be your niche, beauty could be your niche, and vlogs could be your niche it's

whatever that what you do in your channel just you have to pick one of

those things but obviously being as creative as possible. Anything that you

enjoy doing could be your niche or your niche so make sure to be very specific

on what you do. You have to make sure the whole audience could be coming to

everything like all videos instead of like specific ones. Like if you're doing

a variety channel that's not good because specific people come for

specific thing. This is my very first video but on my other channel SweetAnd

SpicyGirl that was a very variety type channel. It's not growing as faster as it

should is if I had a niche and I would have began with that then it would have

been a consistent growth. Next after you pick your niche write down 100 video

ideas. That may sound like a lot but when I was picking the niche of what I wanted

this channel to be I wrote down 100 video ideas and I wrote it down in this

book. Me doing that showed me two things if I could write down 100 video ideas

then I know that I can have 100 video ideas good to go for the future and I

know if I can write down 100 video ideas and I know I can write down 200 video

ideas I know I can write down 300 video ideas so I know that me writing 100 won't make

me like not loose like content ideas or not have any video ideas for the future

so I know that this channel or your channel could be a consistent thing. Once

you found the niche and you found out like okay

100 video ideas I think I got this I think this is actually really good I

think this is a good idea good premise then name it. This may take a while

longer because you're like this is like the channel name this is it this is like

you can't change it you can but like if you made like over is like 300 videos

and then like I'm gonna change the name like mmm it's hard to just go back on it

so try to make this like it. Make sure it's related to your niche so you'll

know exactly like okay people will know this is what you do. My name for this

channel is called Aid Creators and I help assist and aid creators. The idea

behind that can make people know that this is what your channel is about or

like a quick thing about okay I think I know what this channel is about let me

go to the channel just to make sure but now they can not kind of know what you

do on the channel with your channel name; and make sure it's creative. There's a

website that you can see if your name is taken on social medias or websites it's

called Namechk.com I'll put it in the description so you guys can check it

out so if you have a name and you want to see if it's used on YouTube use it on

Twitter if it's a .com already or .net or whatever then you can check on there to

see if it's like okay to use like so you'll know you're the only blah blah

blah then you can find out their own Namechk.com go ahead and it's in the

description you'll be good to go. After you figured out your niche your 100

videos and you named it then figure out what gear do you need. I'm not saying

that you have to buy this this doesn't mean you have to buy your gear you have

gear. Most likely you guys have a phone so if you have a phone then you have a

camera and you have a camera than you can make youtube videos!

You have the mic inside of your camera so you'll be good to go that way as well;

and if you have a camera then you can use that as well. Just use what you have.

Lighting is also good to natural light outside you guys can go and do that and

it'll be good as well so only use what you need and then basically that's the

gear that you'll need unless you really want to upgrade which don't do that now

that's since you're only getting your channel but like later on if you want to

upgrade a few things you can. Once you got that figured out make sure that you

have a couple editing software's. Not editing your videos and not editing your

thumbnails is not gonna cut it. Find free editing software's for your videos or

your thumbnails on your phone or if you don't want to you want a little bit

better things you can find free things on your computer PC Mac there's

different free things and do it that way. It's also whatever works for you. For

editing software's on your phone I recommend Kinemster it's on Android

and iOS phones and also for another editing app for iOS users there's one

called iMovie which works great for beginners and you can look up tutorials

on how to use it all throughout YouTube. Thumbnail editing

apps on your phones could be Adobe Photoshop Express and Snapseed I really

recommend Snapseed. PC free editing software's could be Shotcut or Light

Work. Thumbnail free PC computer softwares are GIMP, PicMonkey, or Canva so

a couple of those work as well. There are hundreds of videos online for all of

those things that I just mentioned and I'll put links down below for all the

things that I just mentioned if it's an app or if it's on the computer so

everything will be down below if you guys want to download it or look it up

or anything like that old in the description. Something else that I feel

like I need to mention that's really cool that he did there's another YouTube

creator named Nick Nimmin. He teaches people how to make youtube videos and

how to grow their channel he really digs into it.

Well back in 2016 he created something called the YouTube Starter Kit. Inside is

an end screen if you don't know what that is it's like at the end of the

video promoting other videos on channel, channel art or channel banner which is

like on your channel page and it's at the top it's like the design, a branding
