So I'm gonna do a real quick quick, as quick as I possibly can,
QA and it's gonna be on "why I wake up at 4 o'clock in the morning". So before I
start I do just kind of want to show you guys where you're posted up right here
because it's- it's something.
This is will basically, this is where y'all are sitting today.
So yeah why I wake up at 4 o'clock in the morning... it is definitely
something that I personally choose to do. I don't like have to. And yeah, I know,
anyone that knows what time I wake up and then on top of that hears that it's
a choice ... they think I'm insane. But honestly it has become like my favorite
thing ever like in life. And little side note: I know that there's kind of
like this general assumption I suppose... and of course not amongst everyone, just
there's you know, a large group of people are under the impression that if
you live in a van then you're kind of just I don't know I guess they think
that people are traveling all the time, and not working, and taking advantage of
the system or something I don't really know. But so then it's like well "why
would someone who lives in a vehicle need to have self discipline, and self
control, and be productive, and learn time management, and efficiency, and things
like that?" But it's like- So for the longest time when I first moved into a
vehicle I still had like a physical job where I had to be there at a certain
time and I had to work specific days. Over the course of a couple of years I
converted my lifestyle with the focus being to have more mobility. And so
that's when I really started to try and get like jobs online and see how I could
go about making that successful. Primarily because I wanted to pour more
of my energy into traveling or not necessarily be
like tied down to a specific location. So that definitely took some time and a lot
of effort to be able to transfer all of my work to being location independent.
And I have touched on the subject of like how to find jobs that are good for
traveling or good for this lifestyle and then I've also talked about top 10
websites to aid in actually finding said jobs. So I will be sure and link
those videos for you guys in case that's something that you need some help with.
But anyways, getting back to the point... I managed to create this lifestyle for
myself, which was my goal, but with it came this whole new territory that I had
no idea how to navigate, which was like working for yourself, or you know, setting
your own schedule... because I mean for me it's really easy when you're working for
someone and they're like "okay here's the task, I need you to get this done by 2:00pm"
It's like "alright, cool, got it." Or if you're working like a job but you know
you're working from 9:00 to 5:00... then from 9:00 till 5:00 you are doing work
things and then at 5:00 o'clock that's it, you check out, you're done. But then
working for myself and doing a lot of freelance stuff, that totally just threw
me into the realm of like you set your own schedule, you decide how much work
you do today, you decide IF you're going to work today... and so naturally that
relies heavily on like self discipline and self control. So basically the point
that I'm trying to get at is that regardless of living in vehicles or not
all of those things that I mentioned like productivity, time management,
whatever... those are all still really really important and those are skills
that I was like okay at, but after starting to work mainly through my
laptop those skills definitely needed some improvement. So for the past like I
don't know, at least year or so, I've really really really put a lot of effort
into focusing on how to just do life and I mean like in regards to those things you know what
I'm saying? So I've tried all kinds of things, basically if you guys saw in my
nighttime routine video how I use a planner and I even you know, wrote down
my routine to check it off, that's kind of part of the last year's worth of
experiments. And I mean I honestly don't have enough time to like try and go over
all of the stuff that I have attempted in an effort to be more productive or
whatever, but I will say that one of the things that I tried and that I
absolutely love is waking up early. So in all honesty, I do not know why I chose
4:00 in the morning. I know that like I feel like I wanted to be up before the
Sun that was like.... goals. 5 is like ok in my head, but like it's still kind of late.
And trust me I know that that sounds insane, like 5 o'clock in the morning is
not late like that's that it's early, but for me like in my head that just sounded
late. So I was like you know what? I think I think I'm just gonna go for 4, like
thug life. So I think we finally made it to "why I like waking up at 4 o'clock in
the morning" is because first of all nobody's awake. Like the birds aren't
even really awake okay, like that's something. So I mean really I just enjoy
the quiet time that's one of the reasons is because there's just there's not a
lot going on. And I really really like being awake like at least a couple of
hours before the Sun comes up. For two reasons because 1: that means I get to
see the Sun Rise every day like how cool is that?! And 2: as I mentioned, since
there's not really anyone else awake, it kind of just already starts me off with
this feeling of like "yeah dude, you're- you're getting stuff done" And not in the
sense that like I feel like because I wake up at 4 o'clock in the morning that
like "oh I'm so much better than everyone else cuz I'm up early" It's like no, that
doesn't make me a better person at all, if anything it honestly just makes me
crazy. But what I do mean is that like ok... so since I wake up at 4 o'clock in the
morning then I immediately start like ok I have a morning routine, I've got like
daytime routine, a workflow routine type of thing... so like it just- it just keeps
going and going and going and then by like 10:30 in the morning/ 11 in the
morning I'm like "oh I have done so much" like at that point I'm pretty much done
with all of the important things that I needed to get done that day, they're
usually finished by then. So really anything that I do after 11 o'clock in
the morning it's kind of like bonus points for me. So also by waking up at 4
o'clock in the morning I feel like it just kind of it adds hours to the day. That's
how I feel. I know, math. I know it doesn't, but it just really does feel like it. And
what I will do is in the very beginning of the day it's like it's so
nice because there's I mean it's not like anywhere is open for me to go, it's
like literally "okay what am I going to do?" So what I do, is just like all of the
stuff that's important to me personally. So like this is usually the time where
like I'll meditate, I'll study my Bible, or I'll do some yoga, stuff like that
just- or I'll just sit there... sometimes yeah, I will just sit there and I guess
that's kind of like meditating I don't know... I mean there's a lot of other stuff
that I do in the morning in that like darkest hours of the dawn, but you guys
will see that in a different video so I'm not just gonna like list everything.
The point is is that I feel like I really get time to myself and it's like
kind of exciting because I get to go to sleep knowing that like the first couple
of things I'm gonna do in the morning are all the stuff like my favorite
things. So then that makes my workday go better because I'm not distracted
thinking about like "okay well I have to get all this work done, but like I really
wish I could meditate right now or I really wish I could do this or that or
whatever it is." But it's like no, I don't gotta worry about it because I already did
that stuff. So yeah it just makes my whole workday pretty awesome. And here's
the thing, like I could totally- my bad... I could wake up at like 6 o'clock right?
But I've noticed that just like my personal like
biological clock, like my brain by like 3 p.m. is like- no matter what time I wake
up like even if I sleep in until like noon, my brain by 3 o'clock is like "pffftt are you
crazy? I'm not- I'm done!" So like after that time like I can definitely still do
stuff and I can like force myself to do things that require a lot of thought and
everything, but it's one of those things where it's like whatever task
I'm doing, if I do it at like 8 o'clock in the morning it'll probably get done
like that :snaps fingers: versus I could do that same task and do it at 3 o'clock in the
afternoon and what would normally take me 10 minutes is gonna take me like 30
to 45 minutes and then it keeps going like that. So it's like at a certain
point, for me three o'clock, it's just like not worth it to do that. In all
actuality it saves time if I were to just save it for the next day. So based
on that combined with like I know how much work I typically do in a day, like
how long it takes me, so like dividing all that up timewise in
order to have enough time to do all of the things that I need to get done that
day.... wow! I feel like I was explaining that horribly, hope you got that. Anyways,
with those two things waking up at 4 a.m. is just what works best for me. I
know that waking up that early is not ideal for like most human life forms and
I'm not necessarily suggesting that you should try it. I'm just letting you know
like why I do it because when I eventually show you guys my morning
routine and mention that I wake up that early some of you guys are gonna be
like "wow she's trippin", but no, there are very valid reasons as to why I do it. And
I guess that's really about it. So I hope that you guys enjoyed this video, I'll see you next time.
