Good morning, many weather experts believe we are in the autumn monsoon season.
Central and upper regions have been seeing heavier showers, but now southern regions
will need to brace for showers today into Saturday.
Chungcheong-do and the northern parts of the Jeolla-do and Gyeongsang-do Provinces are
seeing heavier showers with rain falling at a rate of 40 millimeters an hour.
A heavy rain warning is in place for Sejong, Chungcheong-do and Jeolla-do Provinces with
a heavy rain advisory issued in Daejeon.
50 to 150 millimeters of rain are expected for those regions with heavy rain alerts,
the rest of country will also see light to heavy rainfall.
Checking on today's temperatures, Seoul, Daejeon and Chuncheon are waking up to a low of 22
degrees Celsius,... while humidity levels are close to 90 percent.
Daily highs should be similar to a couple notches lower getting up to 29 degrees in
most parts, Daejeon should be a lot breezier at 26 degrees.
Meanwhile, summer heat continues in Jeju with a heatwave advisory in place.

U.S. State Department extends travel ban to North Korea - Duration: 0:38.

The United States has extended its ban on Americans' travel to North Korea for another
year,... citing that it's too dangerous to go there.
The U.S. State Department says the warning will remain in place until August 31st next
year.
The State Department added that under U.S. law,... the Secretary of State can impose
geographic travel restrictions on Americans under any of three conditions.
Namely, if a country is at war with the U.S., there are armed hostilities in a country or
region, or "there is imminent danger to the public health or physical safety of U.S. travelers
in the country or area."

Trump ready to slap tariffs on US$200 billion of China imports: report - Duration: 1:51.
U.S. President Donald Trump is reportedly ready to impose tariffs on 200 billion dollars
more in Chinese imports as soon as a public comment period on the plan ends next week.
The potential move was reported by Bloomberg on Thursday.

Aram… could we see this trade conflict escalate further?
Well Mark… it is hard to tell at the moment as the Bloomberg report notes that President
Trump's position is not final.
It also suggests that if any tariffs were to be imposed, they would be enacted in installments.
Any announcement on the matter is likely to come out late next week after the public-comment
period.
Companies and members of the public have until next Thursday to submit comments on the proposed
duties.
The report also said it's possible any tariffs imposed would take effect at a later date.
The White House is yet to comment on the report.
Markets have reacted badly to the news, with the S&P 500 hitting session lows and the U.S.
dollar, Chinese yuan and U.S. Treasury yields also falling.
It the U.S. goes ahead with slapping duties on 200 billion dollars-worth of Chinese goods,
it would be largest so far and could escalate what is already a tense trade war between
the world's two largest economies.
The new proposed 25 percent tariffs would also affect more products, including home
building supplies, bicycles and clothing.
The Trump administration has already applied tariffs to 50 billion dollars of Chinese goods,
with Beijing retaliating in kind.
Talks aimed at easing trade tensions ended last week without major breakthroughs.

Argentina raises interest rates to 60% as peso continues to drop - Duration: 0:44.
Argentina's central bank has raised interest rates to 60 percent - up from 45 - as the
country's currency continues to plummet in value.
The peso dropped a further 15 percent in early Thursday morning trade and it has lost nearly
half of its value since January.
The central bank's move comes after the IMF agreed to speed up its 50-billion-dollar bailout
to Argentina, which has been struggling with high inflation and crippling economy.
Argentines have been exchanging their pesos into U.S. dollars in order to protect themselves
from the massive devaluation.
Investors are also losing confidence in the government's ability to revitalize the ailing
economy.

Taking a look at your markets.
U.S. stocks closed lower on Thursday, halting a four-day record run for the S&P 500 and
the Nasdaq.
Bringing up Thursday's numbers.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 137 points, or half-a-percent, at 25,986.
The S&P 500 closed lower by 13 points, or 0.4 percent, at 2,901.
The Nasdaq dropped 21 points, or a quarter of a percent, to 8,088.
Meanwhile, South Korea's main stock market finished slightly lower Thursday, snapping
a nine-day rally.
The benchmark KOSPI inched down less than two points, or less than a tenth of a percent,
to close at 2,307.
The tech-heavy KOSDAQ edged up a point at 804.
