Hello everyone and welcome back I am
your host Elias sarantopoulos. In this
Affinity Designer for iPad tutorial I'm
going to teach you how to design a
poster and specifically how to draw and
put elements together
for a circus layout. I will take you
through the whole process by first
creating the vector rays, followed by
drawing a curvy shape using the Pen tool,
joining paths and adding dashed lines. We
will use a vintage displayed typeface
for our text and ornamental objects and
add a couple of extra elements to
complete the poster design idea. All that
with Affinity Designer in your iPad.
And so inside Affinity Designer let's go
ahead and create a new document by
tapping on the New document icon, for
device I'm going to choose Print, size A4
is fine but for the purpose of this
tutorial and because I want to have more
horizontal real estate I'm going to
choose the Landscape mode and then tap
OK and now we have a new and empty
document inside Affinity Designer. OK so
a couple of things to set up before we
create the rays. So tap on the Document
Menu and let's look at the Snapping
Options. I'm going to Enable Snapping,
Snap to Grid, Snap to Guides, Snap to
Spread and then Snaps to Layer Bounding
Boxes and tap Done, There we go.
Also go back to the Document menu, I'm
going to have a couple of Guides, one
Horizontal and one Vertical, there you go.
Also I'm going to make sure that I
don't have my Snapping On. So I'm going
to select the Rectangle tool, going to tap
and drag to create a rectangle like so.
OK now tap on the Snapping On, let's
change the color and it's going to make
sure that sits right at the center like
so. OK no need for the Guides, I am
going to toggle off the visibility. Now I'm
going to select this with the Move tool
and then I'm going to Convert this into
Curves, there we go. And so with the Node
tool, going to marquee select those two
nodes, those two bottom anchor points, tap
on the Transform Studio and then I'm
going to move the anchor point or rather
the bottom center right here because I
want to taper this in those two bottom
nodes and I'm going to do this with under
the Dimensions with the Width so you can
do this interactively or even better you
can tap and
tap zero. That's exactly what I want OK,
just make sure this sits right at the
center there you go so I'm going to tap
two fingers on the canvas, I'm going to
tap and drag to create a Duplicate like
so which I'm going to rotate this so tap
one finger of the canvas to constraint
the Aspect Ratio, there we go.
Marque selectors to tap on the Edit menu
create duplicate again rotate tap one
figure on the cameras to constrain the
aspect ratio so here okay we have our
first group so I'm going to tap on the
group icon here there we go
which I'm going to duplicate so tap on
the edit menu and duplicate this gonna
rotate this 15 degrees but inside I'm
gonna select all of these by swiping to
the left and change the color like so
okay so here's the second group I'm
going to tap on the first group
duplicate that group and rotate it do
the same on the this group there we go
and we have one more to go
like so so now we have all these groups
which I'm gonna marquee select with a
move tool
okay and I'm gonna size this up like so
and now actually we can group those
groups can give it a name let's say if
you wish race now let's go ahead and add
a frame around the poster and for that
again I'm gonna use the rectangle tool
on the top and drag one just gonna
change its color alright and also at the
bottom of the context toolbar I'm going
to change the corner type instead of
none
to round in verse now here I'm going to
set the radius corner by dragging this
red handle like so and also let's go
ahead and add a stroke to it okay this
stroke can be let see around twelve or
so just make sure in the alignment under
the advanced you use the center okay
alright now another thing I'm gonna do
is tap again on the rectangle tool and
tap and drag to create another rectangle
this time no need for stroke just a fill
they're gonna tap and hold and drag this
under the race okay
and ask for the race I'm going to tap
and hold and click those inside the
rectangle right here the center like so
and the other thing is I'm going to
joinder the layer options just change
the opacity of the race to let's say 50%
now let's go ahead and draw the curvy
shape inside this affinity designer
poster so first I'm going to tap on the
lair studio here and swipe to the left
select those two layers and then tap on
the layer options and tap on the lock
icon to lock them so I don't
accidentally move them
then select the pen tool in this case
I'm going to tap and drag one node with
two Bezier handles now in this case you
don't want to extend those two handles
too far away just here and then just tap
and drag tap and drag for the next point
here what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna
actually change the direction on the
path so I'm gonna tap one finger on the
canvas
and for this bottom handle I'm gonna
brings very close to the node release
the finger from the canvas tap and drag
and then one more tap and drag like so
there you go let's give it a color here
to see what we're doing all right now I
want this to be duplicated so I'm going
to tap on the edit menu duplicate just
bring this to the other side and under
the transform studio let's go ahead and
flip it horizontally so tap on the flip
horizontal icon there we go now I'm
going to mark you select those two tap
on the edit menu create another
duplicate move this down there we go
and under the transform studio you can
flip this vertically so tap on the flip
vertical icon like so okay so I'm gonna
select those two curves the top two
curves which is this one and this one
tap on the node tool and they under the
in the context toolbar we're gonna tap
on the joint function others too have
been joined those two curves have been
joined I'm gonna do the same for the
rest two curves
again I'm gonna join them and then
they'll those two can enjoin them again
so now I have one curve that all join
paths okay in this case I'm just going
to sizes down a bit
like so okay let's also give it a color
so for film that's gonna give this dark
blue kind of and for the stroke just
gonna use black
there is one more thing I would like to
add in this curvy shape so tap to select
it and I'm going to go to the Edit menu
and create a duplicate so under the
color studio I'm going to swipe up on
the field so no feel just a Stroke and
for the Stroke white is fine OK now I
need to bring this end so I'm going to
first make sure that I don't have my
Snapping On so I'm going to bring this in
here from all sides,
like some. OK and instead of a Solid
line I'm going to have a Dashed line so. Tap
on the Stroke Studio, tap on this dashed
icon and for the width I'm going to do this
numerically so one 1.5 point is
fine, under Dashed Pattern 2 is fine for -
and for the Gap 2 is fine as well and
under the Advanced Options here for the
Cap I'm going to go for the Ssquare and then
for Join I'm going to go for the Bevel
option, like so and there we go, that's
exactly what I was going for.
So since this is a poster I'm going to
add a bit of a text and for that I'm
going to use a Vintage Display typeface
that I came across and I actually
provide a direct link to that at the
bottom of the YouTube video description in case
you're interested. So I'm going to select
these two curves, going to lock them just in
case so I don't want to move up
accidentally and then I'm going to tap
on the Artistic Text tool, tap once, The
Circus let's say, make sure is Center
aligned.
OK let's size it up and let's change
the font to this Vintage Display font
that I'm using, there we go. And under the
Positioning actually you can have the
Leading here you can adjust the leading,
you can also adjust the Tracking, OK,
All right let me adjust the leading
even more then bring this down and then
just size this down like so. OK now
let's go ahead and change the color,
let's say color like this and then let's
see, instead of Regular I'm going to go for
Bold OK and then under Stroke, let's
have a bit of a stroke here which I
don't see it very much so I'm going to
increase the Stroke Width OK like so.
Let's see on the Stroke I'm actually
going to go the Alignment on the Center under
the Advanced Options and under the Layer
FX studio I can have a bit of Outer
Shadow here. OK so at the bottom we
have the Context Toolbar and we have our
Options you can actually do this
interactively so tap and drag the as you
see I can do this interactively.
And it depends what you want...you don't
need to have a lot of Opacity, something
along those lines. OK and there you go
that's the typeface or in the center. So
since this is a Display font it also
comes with some nice extras like scrolls,
ornaments, and panels so let's go ahead
and add some. So I'm going to tap again
on the artistic text tool I'm going to use
the extras here and then I think it's
the hyphen (-) OK. I'm going to rotate this
slightly and then just size it down and
just move it into place.
Maybe size it down a bit more OK and then
just let's go ahead and duplicate this
and under the Transform Studio again I'm
going to rotate this let's say
horizontally like so. OK so what else
can we do, well again using the same font
I'm going to tap again on the Artistic
Text tool and I think it is the forward
slash, there you go so this one I'm just
going to slightly rotate it and then I'm
going to change its color to the same
color as the frame and I'm going to size it
down and move it into place then rotate
a bit more, move it close the frame, there
you go, something all those lines. OK so
we got that which I'm going to duplicate
so go to the Edit menu and duplicate
this, bring it to the other side
just kind of rotate this like so and
then I'm going to select those two again,
I'm going to duplicate them, using
the Edit menu just going to move them down
and I can actually rotate them like so.
And just move those to something along
those lines.
Now before I close on this Affinity
Designer and tutorial couple of elements
that I would like to add so the first
one will be just a Circus tent
that's a PNG file here. OK but I'm
going to size this down and then
position it around here.
OK now this one is going to resign
under the rectangle but right on top on
the rays so I'm going to tap and hold and
move this under here, there we go.
And then one more element that I would
like to bring that will be just a
texture so I'm going to drop that in I'm
going to rotate it. OK size it up and
then I'm actually going to tap and bring
this under the Tent and the only thing I
want to change here actually under the
Layers Options instead of the Blending
mode Normal to be let's say Soft Light,
like so. OK and just looking at this
couple of things I would like to move
move around that would be those
center pieces just going to bring this up a
bit like so.

inside Affinity Designer for iPad
including designing posters. In this
tutorial we covered some basic vector
tools together with vintage display
typography and other elements to create

Hey guys! Today I'm doing another awesome collab video with
another awesome author, Mari Suggs, and in these videos
we are both going to share about our writing process!
For me, I am in the drafting phase of my
debut novel that will be a part of my YA fairy fantasy series.
In fact, I'm hoping to have my first official
real draft done by the end of this month
so by the time this video is posted on Thursday, I should be
just about done!
So for my video, I figured I would share some of the things I found most helpful in the
planning / brainstorming, plotting / outlining,
and drafting process and then
I'll also share a few things I wish I had done differently
so hopefully you don't have to learn some of these things the hard way, like I did.

I'M THE KIND OF PERSON THAT PRETTY MUCH THINKS I CAN TAKE ON
JUST ABOUT ANYTHING AND GET IT DONE, BUT MY BODY IS BEGINNING
TO LET ME KNOW THAT I'M GONNA HAVE TO LOSE SOME OF THAT
ATTITUDE IF I WANT TO BE AROUND FOR A LONG TIME.
AND SOMEBODY, ANOTHER PERSON IN MINISTRY, SAID THIS TO ME A LONG

AND SO, I FOUND I'VE BEEN PRACTICING THIS A COUPLE THINGS
RECENTLY THAT HAVE REALLY HELPED ME IS I'M NOT TRYING TO MAKE
DECISIONS BEFORE I NEED TO MAKE THEM.
I'M THE KIND OF PERSON THAT LIKES TO BE ON TOP OF STUFF.
I WANT TO KNOW NOT ONLY WHAT'S GONNA HAPPEN TODAY, BUT
TOMORROW, AND NEXT WEEK, AND THE WEEK AFTER THAT,
AND THE WEEK AFTER THAT.
AND SO, IT PUTS A LOT OF INTERNAL PRESSURE ON YOU AND
YOU'RE ALREADY DEALING WITH SO MUCH OUT HERE, YOU DON'T NEED TO
BE DEALING WITH ANYMORE INSIDE THAN WHAT YOU NEED TO.
AND SO, IT'S REALLY HELPED ME TO JUST THINK SOMETIMES, YOU KNOW,
I DON'T--THAT'S FOR ANOTHER DAY.
I DON'T NEED TO THINK ABOUT THAT TODAY.
AND ALSO WHEN PEOPLE ASK ME IF I WANT TO DO THIS OR I WANT TO DO
THAT, LIKE I WAS TRYING TO MAKE SOME APPOINTMENTS LAST WEEK
AND I HAD TWO OR THREE DIFFERENT OPTIONS, AND MY ASSISTANT WAS ON

WELL, ONE OF THE THINGS I DECIDED I DIDN'T WANT TO DO AT
ALL AND THEN ONE OF THEM I CHANGED THE TIME FROM
WHAT I WAS GONNA DO.
SOMETIMES WE GET THIS BRIGHT IDEA THAT WE WANT TO DO
SOMETHING AND ALL OF A SUDDEN, WE'VE SIGNED ON THE DOTTED LINE
AND MADE A COMMITMENT TO SOME APPOINTMENT, AND THEN WE END UP
NOT BEING PEOPLE OF INTEGRITY BECAUSE WE DON'T FOLLOW THROUGH
AND DO WHAT WE SAID WE WERE GONNA DO.
AND SO, HEARING FROM GOD IS GOING TO REQUIRE, I'MMA SAY IT
ONE LAST TIME, SLOWING DOWN AND TAKING JUST A LITTLE BIT
MORE TIME PONDERING THINGS OR THINKING THINGS OVER.
DOES ANYBODY AGREE WITH THAT?

IT'S LIKE YOU HAVE THIS.
YOU DON'T LIKE IT ANYMORE BUT AT LEAST YOU'VE GOT IT.
YOU'RE NOT HAPPY WITH THIS, LET'S SAY IT'S YOUR JOB OR
WHATEVER, THERE'S NO LIFE IN IT FOR YOU ANYMORE AND YOU FEEL
LIKE GOD WANTS YOU TO LET GO AND DO SOMETHING ELSE BUT YOU DON'T
WANT TO TILL YOU KNOW WHAT THE SOMETHING ELSE IS.
AND SO, YOU'RE TRYING REAL HARD...
AND SO YOU END UP FEELING CONFUSED AND PULLED APART
BECAUSE GOD IS ALWAYS GONNA KEEP THIS NEW THING ABOUT THAT FAR
AWAY FROM YOU UNTIL YOU LET GO OF THIS THING AND SHOW THAT YOU
TRUST HIM.

JOYCE: I MEAN, I DON'T HAVE THE TIME TODAY BUT I CAN TELL
YOU SO MANY STORIES ABOUT OUR MINISTRY AND THE THINGS,
THE SCARY THINGS, THAT WE HAD TO DO AND HOW GOD LED US ONE STEP
AT A TIME STEP BY STEP BY STEP.
I'LL GIVE YOU ONE EXAMPLE OF WHEN WE STARTED OUR MINISTRY, IT
WAS IN THE BASEMENT OF OUR HOME AND WE HAD, I DON'T KNOW, MAYBE
EIGHT, TEN EMPLOYEES DOWN THERE BEFORE WE FINALLY REALIZED WE
HAD TO GET IT OUT OF OUR HOUSE.
AND SO, WE RENTED 1700 SQUARE FEET OF OFFICE SPACE
AND WE FELT LIKE, WHAT IN THE WORLD ARE WE
EVER GONNA DO WITH ALL THIS SPACE?
I MEAN, ITS JUST LOOKED LIKE THE WORLD TO US.
WELL, PRETTY SOON WE'D USED UP ALL THAT SPACE AND THEN WE'D
RENTED EVERYTHING ELSE IN THIS COMPLEX THAT WE COULD POSSIBLY
RENT SO WE KNEW IT WAS GETTING TIME TO BUY A BUILDING, BUILD
A BUILDING, BUY SOME PROPERTY, SOMETHING.
SO, WE ALMOST BOUGHT A CHURCH THAT WAS CLOSING DOWN AND WE
WERE CLOSE TO SIGNING THE PAPERS AND DAVE JUST SAID ONE DAY
HE SAID, "YOU KNOW WHAT?
I DON'T HAVE PEACE ABOUT THIS."
THAT WAS IT, THAT WAS THE ONLY THING, "I DON'T HAVE PEACE
ABOUT THIS."
AND SO, I SAID, "OKAY, THEN WE WON'T DO THAT."
AND THEN WE ALMOST BOUGHT ANOTHER BUILDING AND IT WAS,
HOW MANY SQUARE FEET WAS THAT BUILDING, HUH?
THIRTY THOUSAND SQUARE FEET AND WE THOUGHT WELL, MY GOSH, WHAT
IN THE WORLD WILL WE EVER DO WITH 30,000 SQUARE FEET?
WELL, WE PUT IN A BID ON THAT BUILDING AND SOMEBODY ELSE GOT
IT INSTEAD OF US.
SO, ONE OF THE WAYS THAT YOU HEAR FROM GOD SOMETIMES IS
HE'LL JUST SHUT A DOOR.

JOYCE: YOU KNOW, AND DON'T BE THE KIND OF PERSON THAT GETS
UPSET BECAUSE YOU DIDN'T GET WHAT YOU WANTED.
IF GOD CLOSES A DOOR THEN YOU BETTER THANK HIM FOR DOING IT
BECAUSE THAT MEANS THAT YOU WOULD HAVE BEEN DOING SOMETHING
THAT WOULDN'T HAVE WORKED FOR YOU OTHERWISE.
GOD CAN OPEN DOORS BUT HE CAN ALSO CLOSE THEM.
AND SO, THAT DOOR CLOSED.
WELL, WE DIDN'T KNOW WHAT WE WERE GONNA DO.
I MEAN, WE WERE REALLY LIKE HURTING FOR SPACE.
I MEAN, WE WERE ON TELEVISION BY THEN AND WE WERE HIRING SO MANY
PEOPLE.
OUR MINISTRY WAS TRIPLING IN SIZE AND WE HAD DESKS OUT
IN THE HALL.
WE HAD YOU JUST EVERYWHERE WE COULD PUT THEM.
AND THE WAY WE DROVE INTO OUR OFFICE WAS THE SAME WAY EVERY
DAY AND YET FOR SOME REASON, WE HAD NEVER SEEN THE SIGN.
I'D SEEN IT BUT NEVER PAID MUCH ATTENTION TO IT.
THERE WAS A LITTLE SIGN OVER HERE ON SIDE OF THE ROAD AS WE
WOULD DRIVE BY AND IT HAD AN ARROW POINTING UP
"55 ACRES FOR SALE."
WELL, ONE DAY I SAID TO DAVE, "I WONDER WHAT THAT IS."
YOU KNOW, IT'S INTERESTING HOW GOD CAN BLIND YOU TO SOMETHING
IF IT'S NOT THE RIGHT TIME AND HE CAN OPEN YOUR EYES TO
SOMETHING WHEN IT IS THE RIGHT TIME.
AND SO, WE WENT UP AND LOOKED AT THE 55 ACRES AND, MAN, THIS
WOULD JUST BE--THIS IS WOULD BE AWESOME BUT THERE'S NO TELLINGS
WHAT THIS WOULD COST.
AND WE ONLY HAD A CERTAIN AMOUNT OF MONEY SAVED TOWARD THIS AND
SO WE FOUND THE LADY WHO OWNED IT AND SOMEBODY ELSE HAD OFFERED
HER THE SAME AMOUNT OF MONEY THAT WE FELT LIKE WE COULD OFFER
A COUPLE OF YEARS PRIOR TO THAT AND SHE WOULDN'T SELL IT TO
THEM, BUT GOD GAVE US FAVOR WITH HER AND SHE SOLD IT TO US FOR
THAT EXACT AMOUNT OF MONEY.

JOYCE: AND THAT'S WHERE OUR PROPERTY SITS TODAY, AND IT'S
HOW MANY THOUSAND SQUARE FEET?
A 150,000 SQUARE FEET IN THE OFFICE BUILDING
AND 68,000 SQUARE FEET IN THE DISTRIBUTION CENTER.
SO, THE 30,000 SQUARE FEET WOULDN'T HAVE LASTED VERY LONG.
SEE, GOD SHUT THAT DOOR BECAUSE HE KNEW MORE THAN WE DID ABOUT
WHAT WAS GONNA HAPPEN IN THE FUTURE.
IF WE WOULD HAVE BOUGHT THAT CHURCH OR THAT BUILDING,
WE WOULD HAVE BEEN IN TROUBLE.
WELL, GOD HID THAT PROPERTY FROM US, EVEN THOUGH WE DROVE RIGHT
BY IT EVERY DAY, DIDN'T SEE IT.
HE HID IT FROM US UNTIL IT WAS THE RIGHT TIME FOR US
TO DO THAT.
SO, PLEASE, IF YOU'RE WAITING ON AN ANSWER FROM GOD, DON'T GET
FRUSTRATED BECAUSE GOD'S NOT ANSWERING YOU YET.
HE MAY NOT BE EARLY, BUT HE WON'T BE LATE.

WHEN THE TIME IS RIGHT AND EVERY TIME THE DEVIL TRIES TO

GETTING OUT OF HIGH SCHOOL OR GETTING OUT OF COLLEGE BECAUSE
EVERYBODY WANTS TO ASK THAT PERSON, "WHAT ARE YOU GONNA DO
WITH YOUR LIFE?" I MEAN, COME ON, SOME OF US ARE,
SOME OF YOU ARE 50 AND YOU STILL DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU'RE DOING
WITH YOUR LIFE, YOU KNOW?
YOU'RE STILL TRYING TO FIGURE IT OUT.
AND WE'RE BADGERING THESE 18-YEAR-OLD AND 21,
22-YEAR-OLDS, YOU KNOW, "WHAT ARE YOU GONNA DO WITH YOUR--"
DON'T YOU IMAGINE THEY GET FED UP WITH HAVING TO TRY TO ANSWER
THAT QUESTION?
I MEAN, I GUESS IT'S OKAY TO ASK IT BUT IF THEY SAY, "I DON'T
KNOW YET," DON'T BUG THEM ABOUT IT JUST, YOU KNOW, WHO CARES?
MAYBE YOU SPEND THE FIRST TEN YEARS DOING STUFF THAT HAS
NOTHING DO WITH WHAT YOU'RE GONNA ULTIMATELY DO, BUT YOU
WILL GET EXPERIENCE EVERY PLACE THAT YOU ARE THAT WILL
ULTIMATELY BE USED IN YOUR LIFE SOMEWHERE DOWN THE ROAD.

THE WORD OF GOD WILL RISE UP IN YOU WHEN YOU'RE ABOUT TO MAKE

SO, YOU HAVE TO MAKE A COMMITMENT TO BE A STUDENT
OF THE WORD OF GOD.
I WOULD LOVE TO BE ABLE TO SEE EVERY SINGLE PERSON SPEND SOME
TIME IN THE WORD EVERY DAY EVEN IF IT CAN'T BE A LONG, LONG
TIME, SPEND SOME TIME IN THE WORD OF GOD EVERY DAY AND YOU'LL
BE AMAZED THE TIME THAT YOU WOULD HAVE TO LISTEN TO THE WORD
IF YOU REALLY STARTED THINKING ABOUT--EVEN IF YOU'VE GOT YOUR
PLAYING A CD OR SOMETHING AND YOU'RE NOT A POSITION WHERE YOU
CAN LISTEN TO EVERY SINGLE WORD INTENTLY, HAVE THAT WORD GOING
AND IF YOU HAVE TO LISTEN TO THAT THING FOUR OR FIVE TIMES
BEFORE YOU GET ALL OF IT, IT'S BETTER TO DO THAT THAN TO JUST
HAVE WASTED BRAIN SPACE WHERE YOU'RE JUST, YOU KNOW, SITTING
AROUND GETTING OFF INTO THINKING ABOUT SOMETHING THAT'S NOT GONNA
BEAR ANY GOOD FRUIT FOR YOU ANYWAY.
LOVE THE WORD OF GOD.
"THE WEAPONS OF OUR WARFARE ARE NOT PHYSICAL [WEAPONS OF FLESH
AND BLOOD].
OUR WEAPONS ARE DIVINELY POWERFUL FOR THE DESTRUCTION OF
FORTRESSES," OR STRONGHOLDS.
"WE ARE DESTROYING SOPHISTICATED ARGUMENTS AND EVERY EXALTED AND
PROUD THING THAT SETS ITSELF UP AGAINST THE [TRUE] KNOWLEDGE OF
GOD, AND WE ARE TAKING EVERY THOUGHT AND PURPOSE CAPTIVE UNTO
THE OBEDIENCE OF JESUS CHRIST."
IN OTHER WORDS, THERE ARE VERY MANY VOICES IN THE WORLD TODAY,
NATURAL ONES AND SUPERNATURAL ONES, THAT MAY TRY TO SPEAK TO
US BUT IF WE KNOW THE TRUTH OF GOD'S WORD, WE WILL RECOGNIZE
THE ONES THAT ARE RIGHT ACCORDING TO THE WORD OF GOD
AND THE ONES THAT ARE WRONG ACCORDING TO THE WORD OF GOD.
JESUS SAID "IF YOU CONTINUE IN MY WORD, THEN YOU WILL KNOW
THE TRUTH AND THE TRUTH WILL MAKE YOU FREE."
NOW, I BELIEVE THAT ONE OF THE MAIN WAYS WE HEAR FROM GOD,
AND I KNOW THIS TO BE A FACT FOR DAVE AND I, IS JUST THROUGH
WISDOM AND COMMON SENSE.
DAVE AND I, AND I--THIS IS NOT SAID IN A BRAGGING WAY.
IT'S JUST A FACT.
WE JUST HAVE A LOT OF COMMON SENSE.
AND, YOU KNOW, COMMON SENSE CAN BE MORE VALUABLE TO YOU THAN
A WHOLE BUNCH OF EDUCATION SOMETIMES.

PLEASE TAKE A LITTLE MORE TIME.
YOU KNOW, WHEN--IF YOU'RE GONNA BUY SOMETHING, ESPECIALLY
SOMETHING THAT'S EXPENSIVE, SLEEP ON IT.
GET AWAY FROM THE JEWELRY CASE.
GET AWAY FROM THE SHINY SHOWROOM WHERE THE CARS ARE ALL POLISHED
AND, YOU KNOW, LOOK LIKE THE MOST BEAUTIFUL THING
YOU'VE EVER SEEN.
KEEP IN MIND WHAT IT'S GONNA LOOK LIKE AFTER IT'S FULL OF
MCDONALD'S WRAPPERS, AND STARBUCKS CUPS, AND IT'S GOT MUD
ON IT, AND A FEW NICKS ON THE DOORS FROM PEOPLE SLAMMING
THEIR CAR DOOR INTO YOURS.
AND THEN ASK YOURSELF, "WHEN IT'S LIKE THAT AM I GONNA BE
WILLING TO PAY $700 A MONTH FOR SEVEN YEARS TO OWN IT," AMEN?
COME ON, GOOD COMMON SENSE STUFF HERE.

TRYING TO COVER IT UP WITH SOME OTHER EXCUSE.
I DON'T KNOW WHY WE CAN'T JUST GO BACK TO PEOPLE AND SAY,
"YOU KNOW WHAT?
I THOUGHT IT WAS GOD BUT IT WASN'T."
EVERYBODY GOES THROUGH THAT AND WE'D BE A LOT BETTER OFF IF WE'D
JUST BE HONEST WITH EACH OTHER ABOUT STUFF LIKE THAT.

PROVERBS 16:3 SAYS, "ROLL YOUR WORKS UPON THE LORD [COMMIT
AND TRUST THEM WHOLLY TO HIM; HE WILL CAUSE YOUR THOUGHTS TO
BECOME AGREEABLE TO HIS WILL, AND] SO SHALL YOUR PLANS BE
ESTABLISHED AND SUCCEED."

JUST REAL--IT'S NOT LIKE THIS SOUPY FLOAT AROUND ON A CLOUD
SUPERNATURAL, "OOH, THAT WAS GOD."
SOMETIMES GOD WILL SPEAK TO YOU THROUGH A FAMILIAR VOICE.
WHEN GOD WAS CALLING SAMUEL, SAMUEL KEPT THINKING IT WAS ELI
THAT WAS CALLING HIM BECAUSE THAT WAS THE VOICE HE WAS
ACCUSTOMED TO HEARING FROM GOD ABOUT THROUGH.
AND SO, I'VE HAD PEOPLE SAY TO ME, "I WAS ABOUT TO DO SO AND SO
AND I HEARD YOUR VOICE IN MY HEAD SAYING."
SEE, WHEN YOU LISTEN TO SOMEBODY A LOT, YOU LISTEN TO YOUR PASTOR
A LOT, ONE OF THE WAYS THAT GOD DIRECTS US IS THAT HE MAY BRING
UP SOMETHING IN YOUR REMEMBRANCE THAT THEY SAID TO YOU AT ONE
TIME OR ANOTHER THAT REMINDING YOU OF THAT THING IS NOW GONNA
BE THE THING THAT'S GONNA KEEP YOU FROM GETTING IN TROUBLE.
SO, DON'T BE SURPRISED IF YOU FEEL LIKE THAT GOD IS SPEAKING
TO YOU THROUGH A FAMILIAR VOICE THAT YOU'RE ACCUSTOMED TO.
NOW, GOD ALSO CAN SPEAK TO US THROUGH OUR DESIRES.
NOT EVERY DESIRE WE HAVE IS A GOD DESIRE.
IF YOU DESIRE A HOT FUDGE SUNDAE EVERY NIGHT, THAT'S PROBABLY NOT
A GOD THING.
IF YOU DESIRE SOMEBODY ELSE'S SPOUSE, THAT'S PROBABLY NOT
A GOD THING, AMEN?
IF YOU DESIRE TO NOT KEEP YOUR WORD, THAT'S DEFINITELY NOT
A GOD THING.
BUT I HAVE DISCOVERED THAT SOMETIMES IF I JUST KEEP WANTING
TO DO SOMETHING, AND IT'S NOT A SINFUL SOMETHING, IT'S JUST,
I JUST KEEP WANTING TO DO IT, I FOUND OUT A LOT OF TIMES
THAT'S HOW GOD GUIDES ME.
HE JUST PUTS IT IN ME TO WANT TO DO SOMETHING.
AND THERE'S SCRIPTURE THAT BACKS THAT UP.
MARK 11:24, "THEREFORE I SAY UNTO YOU, WHAT THINGS SOEVER YE
DESIRE, WHEN YE PRAY, BELIEVE THAT YE RECEIVE THEM,
AND YE WILL HAVE THEM."
PSALM 37:4, "DELIGHT YOURSELF IN THE LORD AND HE WILL GIVE YOU
THE DESIRES AND THE PETITIONS OF YOUR HEART."
AND THEN I LOVE THIS ONE PHILIPPIANS 2:13, "FOR IT IS
[NOT IN YOUR STRENGTH, BUT IT IS] GOD WHO IS EFFECTIVELY AT
WORK IN YOU, BOTH TO WILL AND TO WORK [THAT IS, TO STRENGTHEN,
ENERGIZE, AND CREATE IN YOU THE LONGING AND THE ABILITY TO
FULFILL YOUR PURPOSE]."
SO, GOD PUTS IN US A LONGING FOR THE THING THAT HE WANTS US
TO DO.
I CAN HONESTLY TELL YOU FROM THE DAY GOD CALLED ME TO TEACH, I'VE
HAD A BURNING DESIRE TO DO THAT AND THAT'S ONE OF THE WAYS THAT
I KNOW FOR SURE THAT IT'S GOD BECAUSE I CAN'T GET AWAY
FROM IT.

Manzoor took my I-card also for the entry.
Army man at gate pointing towards me asked him, who is this?
He said he is my uncle.
He said alright.
When he went towards this army man,
there is a bench.
They made him to sit on the bench for around 15 mins
Then Manzoor told us that they (Army men) said that Major Sahab is asking for him.
He will take 10 mins only then they will let me go.
After that they took him inside the camp.
I was waiting for him for half an hour.
I was thinking we are late, we have to reach Bandipora, why aren't they leaving him?
Why were you going to Bandipora?
My sister is married in Bandipora and we were going with her.
That is the route for Bandipora.
Then I went to that Army man (Sentry) and asked him about our person.
I told him we are getting late.
He asked whom are you looking for.
Manzoor, I replied.
He said that Manzoor had come here but he left after doing entry.
I asked him when did he leave, I am here waiting for him since then.

In the mean time Nasrullah's brothers came, they said our horses are here
Nasrullah has also came here for entry, they are not leaving him also.
After 2-3 hours, at 2:30 pm Major Sahab came outside.
We asked him our two men are inside the camp, please leave them.
He replied no one is with them.
He told that they came here for entry and left immediately towards Trimukh top

People from Trimukh top also joined us.
We protested and asked for the release for our men.
After many hours at around 4:00 pm Major came out.
This time he accepted that one person is with us.
But other one is not with us.
We asked who is with you?
He said only Nasrullah.
and we have beaten him.
We asked Why so?
He replied that Nasrullah has served lunch to Militants.
That is why we beat him.
We asked him to leave Nasrullah.
We again inquired about Manzoor and asked them to leave him too.
But they again refused.
They then said they will leave Nasrullah right now.
But around at 8 at night , people at the camp protested for the release of Nasrullah.
Major again came out and said he is at his hutment.
People from that area also came and informed the army troopers have taken him to his hutment.
When we reached there we saw Nasrullah half-dead.
He was not able to say anything.
People assembled there and made a strectcher for him.
They carried him to Devar on the stretcher.
from Devar he was shifted to hospital.
At 11.00 pm same night we lodged F.I.R here at the police station.
Next many people including police officilas and DSP went to the camp.
They asked Major Sahab to leave the other person.
But he totally refused about having any information regarding him.

Pigeon Shooting: Four Seasons with Ian and Steve - Duration: 9:19.
Another morning and another beautiful
day in the great British countryside
Today, we're shooting pigeons on one of
Steve's permissions but before we get
started we need to get set up
Morning the Beast of the East is rolling in
and yesterday I walked up here and
these stubbled turnips on the top here was
absolutely loaded with pigeons. There was
thousands on here. We've just come up we
flushed them all off. They've just
disappeared over the ridge but they're
settled down again, so we're going to try
and shoot some pigeons this morning
You know what pigeon shooting is like it
could go well it could be a disaster but
that's the nature of the game. We're all
very excited no gonna get the decoy set up
I like to use two magnets when I'm decoying
I usually put one on the right and
one on the left and then lay my pattern
out in between. So normally we have the
decoys facing into the wind but like say
there's no wind so we're just going to
jot them out in pretty much a
horseshoe so the birds see the horseshoe
try and land at the front of it
hopefully no I just going to be at the
back of the wood there. It's just
starting to snow a little bit. We'll get
set up as quickly as we can
There's birds in the air. We've been
trying to come around because this is
exactly where they were feeding yesterday
shooting is as much an art as it is a
science everyone has their own system
so we'll get at it
and it's fascinating to see how
different people approach laying out
their pattern most people also have very
strong opinions about what's right and
wrong so you're never short of helpful
advice using steve's intimate knowledge
of the area and experience of previous
outings we follow his tried and tested
routine to me the high feels a little
exposed but I'm happy to follow Steve's
lead and do as I'm told for a change
ok we're all set up we're good to go
spacing the height also me now some
pigeons some keeps popping out the winds
changing swirling around us so we've set
the pattern up as best we thinks ok but
what looks good to us and pigeon come
over now you can think oh my lord what
is that but we'll give it a go and
hopefully we'll get a few on the ground
there's one coming in right now and I
missed it
ok because there's two of a shooting in
the height and it's always safety first
so we take it in turns therefore I'm not
jumping up in front of Ian it's not
jumping looking front to make one's in
one's out and that's the way it stays
there's nobody jumping up in front of
anybody else safety first always with
our first birds down I send out my
trusty and obedient retriever to collect
the fallen pigeons to add them to our
pattern
now he's back in the hide we can get
back to shooting
with a few more birds down Steve sets
out to retrieve them must I hold the
fort it may appear that I'm being a
little lazy but Steve is very particular
when it comes to his pattern and doesn't
want me messing things up
as Steve heads out again to collect more
fallen birds we can see a storm looming
ominously on the horizon we decide to
move the hide into the edge of the
forest to give us more cover hopefully
before the storm reaches us we get to
work rearranging the decoys pattern and
hide
as Steve rearranges the pattern I work
on repositioning the hide sometimes even
small changes can make the difference
between success and failure they have a
tactical change of plan we've moved the
pattern a little bit they seem to be
committed and at the last minute they
were veering off we've bought ourselves
back in the wood because everything
we've been shooting has been out in
front anyway so we've got a bit more
cover for ourselves and we've moved the
pattern a little bit and trial and error
we'll see how it all works out now under
the cover of the trees more birds begin
to approach and we start to get back
into our grief finally the storm has
reached us and Steve puts on his deer
hunt and move on went to jacket to fight
the cold with a strong wind and heavy
snow showers the shooting proves more
difficult in the blizzard-like
conditions despite the worsening weather
we begin to gain confidence in our shots
and our Rachel improves
he barked 'ok conditions have
transformed the landscape into a winter
scene fit for a christmas card at the
snowfall lifts a window opens for steve
to collect the shot birds before they're
lost in the snow
who'd have thought such a bright and
sunny morning would give way to this
i warm myself up with some soup while
Steve demonstrates his amazing sheep
herding abilities his skills truly are
limitless
so I think it's safe to say this is not
normal page and shooting weather now I
think it's taking a bit of a turn for
the worst it's been kind of four seasons
in one day first thing this morning it
was nice and frosty nice crisp bright
sky beautiful setting out the decoys in
the sunshine I'm thinking maybe medium
to mouflon
was a bit hardcore well as it's turned
out it's been the perfect choice to play
then so he started off early on got the
pattern out and the boys just didn't
want it birds want to set the wings and
land into the wind I think you're just
catching a glimpse of us from the
right-hand side as we're coming through
we move back into the hedgerow here yeah
and since then the birds have been
coming in nicely to the pack but it just
hasn't been the volume this afternoon
after this I think everything that's
been on the wing that's found somewhere
to feed or taking shelter say no it's a
spoilt it a little bit but I have to say
it's been a beautiful day we've had a
lot more shots than we've had birds
mainly that's down to I don't know maybe
some reacquire ization with the
semi-autos Nachman shooting those for a
while first pigeon day out the season
but yeah it's been great fun I've really
enjoyed it I don't know how many birds
we've got probably got about where I
don't know 20 odd down yeah I'd say
about that yeah hopefully we're gonna be
able to find them in the snow well
everything is turning white slowly well
very quickly now actually it's been a
beautiful day it's kind of carpeted
white for us now so I think the best
thing we can do really is gather up
these decoys have a bit of a clear up
and then you can make me a coffee I
think that's a very good idea but what a
great day they make no worries mate good
foot as we pack away our gear the storm
rolls in with a vengeance it's not been
a huge yield by any stretch of the
imagination but it's been great fun with
great company
these are the days in which stories are
created to be retold over a point on a
cold winter's day in front of a roaring
fire and in the wise words of the wild
man it's another day
they can't take offers

Mercedes C63S AMG Driven: It's a BEAST! 😈 [Review] Sub ENG - Duration: 15:59.
Ciao everyone, here it's Marchettino and today we enfold the roof and make some noise with the open roof in the mountains!
Today we're behind the wheel of the Mercedes C63S AMG Convertible that as you know, Mercedes Italy kindly lent me for the whole August.
After about 2500km of use it's time to let you know what I think about this car.
I drove it everywhere this month, at the beach, in the mountains; I had lots of fun, I pushed it a lot and I tell you it's a sports convertible suitable for all seasons.
This month I truly appreciated it at fullest.
First of all because by driving it in Comfort mode, it's a car you enjoy on the coast with the music, the soft suspensions - it's a fabulous car!
Obviously, by changing settings through the several sport modes, you unleash the real AMG behaviour!
So let's switch to Race, electronics off, of course! And now I wanna let you see and hear the real essence of this AMG!
What do you think, does it has the AMG soul?
One thing I adore from AMGs in general is that they're truly european muscle cars, they're very mean, evil, brutal, especially if you turn the electronics off.
Also this new C63 generation doesn't make exception, also this one is very brutal and gives you the feel to be driving a villain car!
Compared to the previous generation, one of the biggest changes lie in the engine because if the old C63 had the the fabulous, already legendary 6.2L N/A V8,
in front we find a smaller engine.. " small " euphemistically speaking because still, here we have a 4.0L twin-turbo V8.
Trust me, by the sound and power delivery it hardly makes me regret the old 6.2L N/A V8.
I love this engine!
The first time I turned the electronics off I was left shocked by the brutality of this engine
because it delivers 510hp and 700nm of torque, we have a truck-like torque that gets unleashed through the rear tires!
Whenever you lift the foot off the throttle, it's like New Year's Eve!
One thing that this engine impresses me is the power delivery because due to the twin-turbo you have lots of torque since the low revs but the way it pulls 'till the rev limiter (7000rpm)
it doesn't give you the feeling to be turbo because it's so fluent and powerful 'till the redline the first times I drove it I was always redlining because
you couldn't feel a drop of power, typical of the turbo engines.
It's a good thing this car has the option head-up display that allows to keep the eyes on the road and understand the right moment to change gear before the redline.
This is a kind of engine that almost makes me forget to want a N/A because it's a truly brilliant engine!
Price aside, what changes from a C63? The S version is sportier and more oriented to those who like to unleash the real potential of the car,
aside the additional power on the S, an important thing that differenciate the S from the normal is the differential because if on the normal we have a mechanic differential,
here we have an electronic differential that is more sophisticated and allows to unleash properly the power especially in the corners, allowing more traction and spectacular powerslides!
Also, this C63S has the option carbon ceramic brakes, option I find quite useful on this car because this is not a feather-weight, it weights about 1925kg
a whopping 125kg more than the coupè!
Slowing down all this weight with even bigger and more power brakes is a good thing, so these +5000€ are well spent.
For being a heavy car, brakes are good! They don't suffer fading, breaking power is always great and steady.
Let's say the problem of the weight can be noticed in the corners,
especially if you drive with the electronics off because as soon as
IT'S RAINING!
RAIN!
All good!
It's a good thing you can open or close the roof while driving!
I think I escaped from the rainstorm that caught me by surprise so let's pull the roof down, and it's a show!
Now I can enjoy at fullest the sound of this V8!
I was saying, talking about the weight you can feel it when you turn the electronics off when you want to push it to the limit because the problem
you know the chassis of a convertible is less rigid and oriented for a sport use compared to the coupè,
you don't feel the problem particularly in the corners because this steering is fantastic, in Race mode it's very sensible, communicative, direct,
when the rear slides I feel that immediately, you have the problem mostly when you try to make the rear slide in the corners because
with all this power you go sideways immediately
the problem is to keep the slide because with all this weight and weight balance which is not optimal, plus the convertible chassis,
let's say this is not a car made to make the roundabout sideways!
Due to inertia you can truly feel the weight.
On the other side, a good thing about this car is that you don't have understeer at all, you just have to overdo a very litte with the throttle and the rear is always sideways!
You know when at the end of the day you return back home to your dog and he's so tail-happy? This is it!
Tires are big, here we have 20" wheels and 285 tires in the back but still when you push on the throttle
you feel the car struggles to unleash all this power and torque which is huge!
Even if it's a high performing sports car, the chassis is not designed to drive like I'm driving now!
If you want to unleash the best performance out this car, you need to have proper skills otherwise with electronics off it takes a moment to hit the wall!
And if there's one thing I noticed when driving with the electronics off,
even if you turn them off in the extreme cases the electronics is still there when you overdo with the throttle,
I find it a bit irritating because if I want the electronics off, I want it off, period.
I don't want the electronics work and cut the power in the middle of a powerslide because sometimes it happened, I find it a bit irritating
in the previous AMG generations it wasn't like this. You push a button, turn everything off, write the will and try to go sideways!
Rain, I don't fear you! What I fear is all this power since I'm driving with the electronics off!
This car costs 115.000€ but specc'ed as you see, 130.000€, I think this C63S is worth it!
If you keep the settings in Comfort, the car feels like a normal C-Class, super comfortable, super silent, I also did lots of highway miles with the roof down
up to 130kmh it's very pleasant to cruise with the roof down.
Another thing that surprised me positively is the fuel consumption because if you don't push too much, so I recommend you to drive in Comfort, with a smooth driving you can even to 10 kilometers per litre
achieved on extra-urban roads or motorways and obviously if you set Race mode and push, fuel consumption is quite ridiculous, about 3km per litre!
But just like any AMG, probably the tire wear is higher than fuel consumption!
I have to say, consumption aside, smashing the foot on the throttle is a real pleasure because I've been amazed by this engine.
Acceleration is thunderous!
Thanks also to this 7-speed automatic transmission the acceleration never ends, it's always fluent and powerful,
turbo-lag is little you feel it at low revs but as soon as the turbos unleash power and torque, the acceleration keep you pushed to the seat!
Overall I really like the car, sadly I need to return it to Mercedes with a great sadness, I hardly found defects on this car but if I need to point out a few things, let's say
excessive weight aside, a few things I dislike are the interior materials and buttons because for a 130k € car
honestly I find unacceptable to have buttons on the central dash that by the touch, you feel it's cheap plastic
Also, another thing I noticed I took delivery of the car that was quite new with 5000km, now with about 2500km more sorry Mercedes!
I noticed a early wear of the alcantara on the steering and on the leather's headrest
and for such expensive car placed on a high target, these are minor details I struggle to digest.
but overall I've been amazed by this car.
It's not raining anymore so let's open the roof. Every occasion is good to open the roof and enjoy at fullest the sound of this V8!
I think I would go for the coupè because after having driven the convertible, I understand the limits by driving it like I usually do, I would never trackday a car like this.
Even more, I'd go for the C63S coupè.
Sadly, the time has come to head back at Mercedes Italy and return the keys of this fabulous car!
