doop doop doop do do it is a glorious Sunday here in England and I hope where you are
everything is shiny and bright as well
here we go again it is a Sunday and as I mentioned it's an absolutely glorious
day look at that alive view looking out into the distance you can see that the
sun is shining brightly it is a very hot day and well I'm feeling very
adventurous today because we are going to have a little break here for a few
days so I thought today we would go outside so that is what we will be doing
a little bit later on so I hope you will stick around lots of things coming your way today
hi everybody this is mr. Duncan in England how are you today
are you okay I hope so are you feeling happy because the Sun is out and
everything is ok so be happy smile it isn't against the law there is no law
against being happy so smile and enjoy this thing we call life
so here we go it is Sunday and it's mr. Duncan that's me by the way for those who are flicking
around because I know many people do they like to click and flick around the
internet so perhaps you are going through some of the YouTube channels and
you have stumbled across me my name is Duncan and I teach English and I've been
doing that for over 11 years I'm not joking I've been on longer than most of
the big YouTube stars so if you name any YouTube stars I bet I've been on longer
than they have I started doing this way back in 2006 when YouTube was just a
little puppy so many years ago 2018 is my 12th year
on YouTube I've spent the last 12 years of my life doing this can you believe it
huh I certainly can't so here we go it's Sunday and I hope you are feeling great
oh I can't get enough of the sunshine today I am really really loving all of
this sunshine would you like to see a beautiful view from the other evening
because everything is looking nice and many of the farmers are now gathering
their crops so let's take a look at some of the views right now and there you can
see in the distance the farmer is gathering all his crop I think that
particular field has barley in it and there you can see one of the beautiful
sunsets that we experienced this week we had some glorious weather it's
incredible and I'm feeling particularly excited today I'm feeling very excited
because I have heard that the weather this week is going to be very nice as
well ooh what do we have here we have some
farming equipment some things that are used to gather in the crops so let's
have a closer look shall we well that is something used for
gathering the grain that is part of the thing that reaps the grain it collects
it it grabs it and there you can see something called a combine harvester a
very complicated piece of equipment it cuts it gathers and it throws all of the
unwanted bits of chef as we call it out of the back so there you can see a
closer look part of the combine harvester it is a
huge piece of equipment it's massive and quite often around here at this time of
year you will see many farmers gathering their crops in fact this year they are
doing it slightly earlier than normal so they are doing it earlier this year
because of the harsh weather we have had such a lot of sunshine and it's been so
hot as well very hot so the farmers are very busy at the moment
gathering their crops and there you can see what is left after the farmer has
gathered all the grain you can see what is left so that eventually will be
gathered as well so nothing goes to waste
everything is used so you can see there what remains is called straw and it will
be bailed and it will be used during the winter months to feed the animals so
when there is no grass when everything is in short supply during those cold
winter months the cattle and the sheep will have something to eat so there I
hope you enjoyed those views something a little different lots of things going on
at the moment around where I live because the community I live in is
mainly farming lots of farmers lots of agriculture around
the area in which I live so I hope you enjoyed that something a little
different oh also this morning I woke up
especially early this morning I wanted to wake up early so I could see the
sunrise and it was beautiful it was very nice and also I was lucky enough to see
the Bulls see the cattle walking across the field at the back of my house would
you like to see that as well oh I am really spoiling you today
so there that is the view from my bathroom window so I was in the bathroom
I think I was actually sitting on the toilet at the time I think I was
actually on the toilet when I film this okay I wasn't really so there you can
see the cattle going across the field and I think one of them is having a poop
isn't that nice that's good that's nice I didn't notice that earlier I didn't
realize that one of the cattle was actually having a poopoo so there you
can see the view at the back and I thought that the cattle would be unhappy
during this hot weather but they seemed quite happy they seemed quite content
and during the daytime when it's very hot they always find somewhere to rest
normally a shady corner safe in the shade so that's normally what the cattle
do when the weather is like this they normally like to lie in the shade so
there they are that was filmed this morning through my very dirty bathroom
window it looks as if that window needs a clean I think I'll do that next week
so it's Sunday afternoon it's live English I hope everything is ok where
you are I'm feeling especially excited because mr. Steve and myself we are
going to have a few days of rest relaxation and maybe a little adventure
as well so we won't be here on Wednesday but we
will be here next Sunday so don't forget that we won't be here on Wednesday night
with our Leighton live we are having a little break for the week but we will be
back next Sunday and it is a very special day because it's my birthday
next Sunday mr. Steve will be here later on he will be here with what will he be

thirty-five I didn't realize it was that many so mr. Steve will be talking about
his list his register and something else we want to do today we want to find out
where people are in the world because we are very interested to find out who is
watching and where you are watching so that will be happening today also we'll
be talking about forgiveness are you a person who forgives easily because some
people don't like to forgive whilst others forgive very easily so if a
friend or relative has done something to you or someone has crossed you they have
done something bad to you do you forgive them easily
are you a forgiving person and do you offer Redemption easily we'll be talking
about that later on also we have some holiday expressions and some quotes as
well because we are having a little holiday this week I'm very excited and
mr. Steve is feeling especially excited because he doesn't have to work for ten

very unusual and interesting you know I like to show you things that are strange
sometimes a little unusual so let's have a look at something now have you ever
seen a baby pigeon now there are some pigeons actually nesting outside one of
the windows of the house and this week the small baby pigeons came out and
luckily I had my camera very handy so let's have a look shall we
so here is one of the baby pigeons and this pigeon had just emerged from the
nest there it is so this is a baby pigeon a lot of people ask why don't we
ever see baby pigeons and there is a reason for that and that's because they
stay in the nest until they are fully grown so that's the reason why you never
see baby pigeons or chicks because they always stay in the nest until they are
fully grown and there you can see a new pigeon a little baby pigeon and that one
has just left the nest it is preparing its feathers it is getting ready to fly
for the first time so I hope you enjoyed that and that's one of the things I love
about living in the countryside there is always something to see there is always
something special to look out so every time I look at my window my bedroom
window or maybe the window in my studio there is always something going on we
will have another look at the baby pigeons later on because I have
something else to show you now this is an excerpt from one of my full
English lessons a lot of people like to watch my full English lessons so here we
go this is taken from full English number 24 and in this video we will look
at lots of very interesting subjects and look out for the beautiful countryside

one of the things I love about English is how some words sound made-up and
unreal some English words are amusing to say and hear words with strong consonant
sounds tend to be the ones that stand out the most words such as pimple bubble
nibble pump nanny wobble blink if you are trying to be humorous then the use
of certain words will guarantee that laughter will be heard we often make
embarrassing things seem less humiliating by giving them funny names
I need a wee-wee I need to take a poop the tents of certain English words could
also sound unreal or made-up for example the past tense of dive is douve the past
tense of forbid is forbade the past tense of forsake is forsook the past
tense of shrink is shrank the past tense of shine is shauna the past tense of
leap is lept another curious word is manslaughter this word means the crime
of killing a person without premeditation or malice aforethought a
non intentional killing is manslaughter what is interesting about this word is
if you split the letters in a certain place then you get men's laughter which
seems very inappropriate given the nature of the original word manslaughter
man's laughter
do you like my new coat I bought it in the sales I thought I would treat myself
what is it about treating yourself to something new that makes it such a joy
sometimes it is nice to treat yourself to something it doesn't have to be
something large and expensive you can treat yourself to something small to
this new coat is not only my treat but it is also something I needed my
previous coat is now old and worn out which is not surprising as I've had it
for over 10 years I don't buy new clothes very often I might buy the
occasional t-shirt and maybe a pair of socks to replace a worn-out pair I'm
certainly no big spender the past tensor buy is bought you buy something you have
bought something not to be confused with the past tense of bring which is brought

what you can see here is a certain type of fruit
these are damsels a damson is a plum like fruit that grows in the summer both
here in Britain and across Europe their flavour is not all that sweet
in fact they can sometimes taste quite sour you might even say that the damson
has an astringent taste which can be quite harsh and bitter
despite that damsons do make great Jam which is exactly what I will be doing
soon with these particular damsons hanging here there are enough damsons
here to make over 30 pots of jam which is more than enough to keep me going
until next summer at the end of this season I will cut this damson tree back
a little as it is starting to become too large and is in danger of over growing
to cut back a tree or bush so is to prevent it becoming too large is called
pruning this damson tree needs to be pruned I will prune it I will give it a
trim

you know I like facts and figures yes I know
so here's something we're talking about today I mentioned it earlier we are
we're talking about forgiveness now a lot of people are taught at an
early age to forgive if a friend does something bad to you if someone does
something that isn't very nice we are often encouraged to forgive and forget
but some people don't like to forgive they don't
forgive easily and I suppose it's it depends on what it is that the person
has done so I think Steve now this is just a guess I think Steve you you
forgive very easily oh well with me it's quite strange I will put up with a lot
of bad behavior from people mm-hm up to a point so I will forgive minor
transgressions shall we say yes so something that's occurred a person
that's done something to you in it's not serious it's not that serious but if
they keep doing it with me there's a line and once that line is crossed
there's no turning back once you cross that line you're out forever
that's it out forever and Steve you know my feelings
what's that well you know well would you say I forgive people easily no no you
don't you don't forgive people easily you are right we're quite opposite in
that in that way mm-hmm there's a if anyone sort of done sales or in sort of
it not necessarily sales but sort of works for a company sort of business
that there is a something called insights where you it's a sort of it's a
way of looking into people's characters and you you assign colors to people like
red green yellow or blue is that their character yes it yes so you do a
questionnaire quite a lengthy questionnaire and then it goes through
some analysis and then you come out and you get these great big charts and it's
sort of like a personality questionnaire test but it's called insights it's quite
a quite a popular one because it just assigns you a color hmm so you could be
green red yellow or blue and and within those four colors
there are characteristics that are attributed to those colors so if you're
if you're a red person I've got a red top on but it doesn't mean I'm in sights
red but a red person makes very quick decisions tend to be leaders don't take
any nonsense that sort of character of a person and we all know people like that
if you're a yellow person it means you you like talking about your holidays and
about yourself and you go on and on about yourself and you're all sort of
fluffy and and everything's alright and they'll sort of talk to you and and
endlessly about everything mostly about themselves yes no not necessarily if
you're blue if you're a blue character that means you're quite introspect if
you like to look at all the details of everything and you're into facts and
figures and you don't make decisions unless you've got all the facts and
figures around you if you're a green person then that means you're all you're
very nice you're very open friendly towards everybody a lovely friendly
character but you're very easily hurt you know already people already I feel
that you might be blue I don't know actually I'm blue green I'm having
nobody's ever just one color ah usually people are a mixture of
colors they've got a dominant color and then they've got other parts so this
sounds like psychoanalysis it is a kind of well it's it's more about finding out
what your character is and and sort of attributing it to these four colors and
within that you can sort of because if for example you're in a in a sales job
you don't want to be too green all the time and you don't get you you want to
you want to sort of flex into your read a bit more and and it's allowing you to
think about what your natural character is but then allowing you to sort of flex
and move into other areas that have that may assist you in your career
so does this justice help with say self-improvement
so what is the point of this so for from my point of view
I I think I might be red so so I see myself maybe as a red person maybe a
person who I'm not very patient I think I mean I mean I don't mind
analyzing myself I'm very aware of some of my strong points I'm also equally
aware of my of my weaknesses and one of them is impatience so I can be quite
impatient I do like to get things done quickly if I'm doing something for
example preparing this livestream I really do get very focused on it and I
don't like messing around for too long I like to get things done very quickly and
when it comes to forgiving people I'm not a very forgiving person I will I
will give them a little bit but really I can cut people off very easily from my
life I I have absolutely no problem with that so if I I will be pushed so far but
but really if if I'm pushed too far that that's it I I don't I don't forgive
easily and I can very easily cut people off yeah well yes I've seen you do it
the other thing that this this attributing this color is it enables you
to when you're with people you can assess what is their dominant color
whether they're red green blue yellow and then from that you can sort of sort
of mold yourself to sort of be more attractive in terms of relating to that
person in a better way so if you go to see somebody and they say you get in
sales and you're going to see a customer and that customer you can tell doesn't
want any nonsense doesn't want to talk about the holidays then you just wrap it
you just go in tell them the facts and ask for and expect a quick decision and
leave if it's something you go in and they start talking about their holidays
then you've got to sort of yeah sort of go along with that so it enables you
just sort of not manipulate but sort of sort of sort of morph into into their
behavior of it or enables you to be a bit more like a
chameleon hmm and sort of adjust your behavior to suit the the situation or
the person that you with the the sunshade is moving and blowing in the
wind mr. Duncan but luckily the sun's gone in so I'm all right
so yes what you were saying there was quite interesting we've got quite a few
people on the live chat as well sue Kat says she is blue blue detail
she likes the detail I bet you don't but I bet you're like me if I the worst
thing for me is having to make a decision on buying something say a new
fridge just something like a fridge most Pete a lot of people would just a person
who's yellow would just it would go out there just buy a fridge no it'll take me
two weeks to decide I look at all the facts and figures and decide them as
that fridge what what's the the Eco rating that fridge and what's the
capacity of it and what's that like compared to others if that got a good
reliability record I'm sorry this this this sounds like you Steve and that is
the complete opposite of you you will just buy things on an impulse well I do
see again again I that's why I don't particularly agree with these color
codes I think because sometimes when you wake up in the morning you don't feel
the same as you did the day before about something now that's true that's right
so it's all a flex I must admit I'm not exactly I'm not entirely convinced that
any of this serves any purpose so I think really we all have good days and
we all have bad days we have up days and we have down days so sometimes our mood
can influence the decisions we make so if you are in a bad mood you might make
the wrong decision about something and if you are in a good mood you might be
more generous with the way you treat other people so certainly I wouldn't say
I'm impulsive sometimes I'm the opposite sometimes I'm terrible at making a
decision where where is you Steve you are always always at the extreme yes
you can get paralysis by analysis ah it's a common phrase if you basically if
you think too much you can't make a decision paralysis by analysis paralysis
by analysis so that you're going into too much detail about something over
thinking over thinking your brain becomes full of all these facts and
figures and you can't make any clear decision about something and that very
often happens to me and that maybe happens to sue cat I don't know yes well
I have some good news for you Steve what's that we're going to take a little

something carefully you are chewing the cud just like this cow

while carrying things you put stuff in your backpack so you don't have to carry
anything in your hands a backpack can be small and lightweight or it can be very
large and hold many things hikers often use backpacks so as to allow them to

survival gear or even a fold away tent can be carried on your back using a
backpack the most common type of backpack looks like this something not
too large and not too small very convenient for when you have lots of
things to carry you can carry a small backpack over both shoulders or just

like a trolley a backpack can also be called a rucksack
you are not going to believe what I'm about to say but say it I will most
native speakers of English make mistakes while using the language that is to say
in their day-to-day use of English there are many reasons for this first there is
the consideration of the accent being used some English accents clip or alter
the way in which English is used this applies to both British and American
English speakers the speed at which some people speak English changes the sounds
of certain words if you add accent and speed together then you will get a very
different sounding version of English from a grammatical point of view
mistakes are often made by native speakers double negatives such as I
didn't do nothing are common in everyday speech the use of certain words can also
lead to mistakes being made confusion between words such as historic and
historical affect and effect allude and allude assume and presume these are just
some examples of common mistakes made by native English speakers
then there is the spelling of certain words native English speakers will often
spell certain words incorrectly good examples of this include amount
fascinate necessary definitely achieve acknowledge success
imitate familiar scissors and vacuum there are of course many others my point
here is that even though a person speaks and uses English as their first language
they will still be prone to making the occasional mistake it would be fair to
say that on a daily basis very few native English speakers get it
right all the time and that includes me

that you have plenty of spare time you are doing nothing at the moment you have
lots of time on your hands we can ask a person do you have time to
see me could you spare some time for me next week when are you free to be free
is to have spare time the word spare can also be a verb to spare some time is to
make sure you will be free you offer your time to someone at a certain time
you will be free and available time ticks by it never stops time marches on
the time and the place is when and where to run out of time is where all things
come to an end you are out of time

front of a camera it's it's a lot more than just standing here
how can people appreciate that mr. Duncan talking they do anyway a couple
of tea cakes for you mr. Duncan likes huge amounts of butter on his tea cakes
yes you but you can't have a tea cake with that
lots of butter mr. Duncan's tea cakes are like butter sponges the butter just
melts and runs out the side it runs down my hand he literally does if mr. Duncan
makes you a tea cake you take the first bite and the butter drips onto your
t-shirt that you're wearing and you can't get it out of the wash for about

Again, it's difficult to comprehend things on this minute of a scale since we can't see them with our naked
eye or even a clothed eye which is I guess what glasses would be. So let's check out cell size and scale.
We'll start off at a carbon atom, the smallest thing this site shows.
Zooming out a bit we'll pass some viruses, a human egg, a sperm cell, a grain of salt,
a sesame seed and now a coffee bean.
Fun fact: a grain of salt is estimated to have around 1.2 quintillion

It's hard to fathom just how big they are but let me give you some facts
that might blow your mind but they probably won't because your very smart and attractive.
They can way up to 181,437 kg.
That's close to half a million pounds, almost as much as I can bench, ladies.
Their tongues alone can weigh as much as an elephant.

Their hearts unlike my black hole are around 204 kg, about the size of a car.
The daily requirement of an adult blue whale is around 1.5 million calories.
And now let's say you eat an average of 2,000 calories a day.
It would take you over 2 years to eat what one blue whale eats in a single day.

Now let's go back to scale of the universe and zoom out a bit further.
Okay here we have Vatican City, the smallest country in the world.
Still bigger than myself, a blue whale, or a Planck Length but as far as countries go, it's
not very big.

When projecting a 3D globe onto a 2D map there's room for errors and distortion.
The most popular map projection that you're probably familiar with is the Mercator projection
and it distorts the sizes of countries close to the poles.
For example, Africa and Greenland look to be about roughly the same size but in reality Africa
is much much larger than Greenland. Sorry Greenland. You're still great and I love you.
We are given three countries for comparison: The United States, India, and China.
Look what happens when we drag the U.S. over Africa.
It pales in comparison.
But now drag it up here and it becomes very clear that Africa and Greenland are nowhere
near the same size.
Let's wrap that map back into a globe and here is our beautiful Earth.
It seems big and beautiful because for the most part it's all we've ever experienced firsthand so
it's hard to conceptualize just how tiny it really is in the scope of the universe.
But let's at least try shall we.
So this is Earth, larger than Mars, Mercury and Venus but zoom out a hohoho holy moly!

Now let's say you wanted to drive around the whole Earth because why not.
It would be close to a 40233.6 kilometer trek so all you have to do is not sleep or go to

MEDICAL NUTRITION THERAPY FOR CYSTIC FIBROSIS - Duration: 10:34.
so what that tells us is that the role of the registered dietitian is critical
in the management of patients with cystic fibrosis.
Hello everyone my name is Caroline Weeks and I'm a registered dietitian and nutritionist who works in
the areas of cystic fibrosis, gastroenterology and endocrinology. I am
here on Kim's YouTube channel today to talk about the medical nutrition therapy
for cystic fibrosis. I will discuss cystic fibrosis as a disease- what it is,
how it's diagnosed from infancy; I'm going to discuss common medications that
these patients need on a day to day basis some of which I'm involved in
dosing and then I'm going to talk about some long-term complications of the
disease specifically related to GI and nutrition so here we go let's get
started. Cystic fibrosis is an autosomal
recessive genetic disease of the lung, but particularly it's a genetic mutation
of the CFTR protein or the cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance
regulator protein and what this protein is involved in is it's basically
expressed in every tissue in the body so think lungs pancreas GI tract other
organs. These patients excrete sodium through their skin -salt much more
readily if you kiss them on their on their face you can taste salt so that's
one aspect of the disease basically the system is becoming more dehydrated which
can lead to a thick mucus being produced in the lungs but also different tracts
and ducts of the GI system so CF is first diagnosed now on a newborn screen
now there have been recent and huge I might add
advancements in the pharmacological management of cystic fibrosis originally
this was thought to be a pediatric disease however because of the work
that's been done on the pharmaceutical side of things the mean life expectancy
for a patient with CF is now 47 years of age which is huge. The CF Foundation puts
out an annual report and there is a plethora of research linking optimal BMI
and improved BMI with overall lung function as measured by fev1 percent
predicted so what that tells us is that the role of the registered dietitian is
critical in the management of patients with cystic fibrosis. The typical diet
that is prescribed for these patients and I'll get into more details soon is a
high-fat, high-calorie, high sodium diet now it's my personal opinion that we can
achieve that in much healthier ways than others for example increased intake of
mono and polyunsaturated fats as opposed to trans fats and saturated fats but
that's generally the overall diet prescription. When it comes to BMI the
goal or optimal BMI for pediatric patients is at or above the 50th
percentile for women it's at or above a BMI of 22 and for men it's 23 now that
being said energy requirements for those with cystic fibrosis are generally 1.5
to 2 times that DRI and protein requirements are about 1.5 to 2 times
the DRI as well so that being said it can be very difficult to get adequate
calories by mouth so oftentimes my patients have a gastrostomy tube in
place and I'm involved the management of g-tube regimens I'm
constantly bombarding patients with medical nutrition therapy and ideas for
increasing calories whether that's through oral nutrition supplementation
or just adding oils butter things like that to their meals on any given day. One
of the greatest aspects of medical nutrition therapy for patients with
cystic fibrosis is the dosing of pancreatic enzyme replacement therapy or
PERT and these are little enzyme capsules that I like to think of almost
as insulin. Pancreatic enzyme replacement therapy needs to be taken with every
meal every snack from infancy so with breast feeding or formula feeds
all the way until adulthood this is very very important for the absorption of
protein and fat from our foods and it's essential to prevent deficiencies of fat
soluble vitamins A,D,E, and K now I'm involved in the dosing and management of
these enzymes they come in a variety of different units of lipase and strengths
if you will that is dosed one of two ways you can dose it based on the
patient's weight or based on how many grams of fat the patient is consuming at
any given meal or snack now these enzymes are entericly coated so that
there is better absorption in the proximal duodenum these enzymes and fat
absorption occurs better in a more basic environment now without this enzyme
therapy patients run the risk of experiencing steatorrhea or oily stools
basically fat malabsorption they can also experience bloating abdominal pain
loose stools in general and we run the risk of becoming
deficient in vitamin D, vitamin E, K, and A all of which can lead to long-term
health problem I said that I would discuss some of the other complications
more nutrition based complications of CF and the first one is constipation
because our GI tract it's becoming more dehydrated our stool becomes thicker and
runs the risk of becoming impacted along the colon and small intestine now
unfortunately a mixture of both fluid and fiber in this setting is not enough
and so oftentimes I push bowel regimens with the use of miralax or some other
non stimulant laxative a second GI related complication and CF is GERD or
gastroesophageal reflux and though this is somewhat misunderstood we think it's
due to altered gastric emptying and a reduced lower esophageal pressure and
also reduce primary peristalsis in the setting of cystic fibrosis also for
normal patients typically a high-fat fried food diets can cause reflux so we
think there could be a link between that as well
additionally long term effects such as gall bladder disease, cholestasis and
drug-induced liver disease can sometimes be seen in cystic fibrosis. One of the most common complications of cystic
fibrosis is cystic fibrosis related diabetes also known as type 3 diabetes
because it shares characteristics of both type 1 and type 2 in the fact that
there's insulin resistance and insulin deficiency in our patients annual labs
and screens we make sure they get an oral glucose tolerance test in addition
to other screening factors such as vitamins and minerals
and pancreatic function tests. A final complication that can occur in cystic
fibrosis are skeletal complications mainly being osteoporosis and there are
a number of factors that can lead to osteoporosis but the main one is
long-term vitamin D deficiency as a result of steatorrhea and fat malabsorption
other factors include overall poor nutritional status, circulating
pro-inflammatory cytokines, respiratory acidosis and overall physical inactivity
a DEXA scan is also included in our patients overall labs that we get
usually this happens when they are adults to begin with but my role as a
dietitian with the dosing of pancreatic enzymes is something that is very
critical to preventing this long term complication from half so in a nutshell
the role of the registered dietitian in CF is very very critical to their
overall health I'm involved in teaching patients how to increase overall
calories in their diet ensure that they are well hydrated through adequate
fluids and addition of adequate salt in their diet because they excrete salt
more readily through their membranes I'm involved in overall reflux therapy and
dealing with kind of picky eating behaviors and things and school-aged
children sometimes I work directly with my GI provider to dose appetite
stimulants such as cyproheptadine in young kids because they need an extra
boost to just overall eat enough so I feel blessed and very lucky to be
working in this specialty area I feel like it's challenging every day is
different and I am forced to keep on my toes
the latest drug therapies and overall nutrition therapies for this
these patients because as I said at the beginning of the video things are
rapidly changing and evolving in cystic fibrosis so thank you so much for

Horizon Zero Dawn is one of those games that has a lot of good ideas
But only manages to pull off half of them. It has been reviewed many times with acclaim.
But in those reviews they haven't talked a lot about the parts in Horizon Zero Dawn that were bad and boring.
When you start Horizon Zero Dawn, the first hour of gameplay is pretty good
You get introduced to the main characters like a Aloy and Rost. You have a plot to get invested into with the plot being why
Aloy is an outcast.
You hunt your first robot animal, you discover fast travel, and just all the necessary
stuff for the game in general. The second hour of gameplay is
Surprisingly better with you hunting mechanical beasts, meeting more characters
Saying goodbye to a Aloy's dad and preparing for an event.
The third hour is when the game all of a sudden fluctuates into the bad and boring parts.
Let me explain! You go to the event, eventually make friends with old and new rivals in the event, and win the event.
But here's when it gets bonkers! Those friends
You just made... GONE! Your father... GONE! The plot you got invested into the story...
SOLVED! In the span of
20 minutes
You were not born of a woman, Aloy. The mountain is your mother!
This is bad because all those things you were just introduced to in the first and second hours of the game are completely forgotten
during the ending and a new plot is born that only somewhat relates to the old one.
The characters and Horizon Zero Dawn are even worse than the plot with the exceptions of Aloy and Sylens. Most
Characters that you meet on your journey are probably forgotten,
If you don't meet them back in the next four hours. And even then, most characters are pretty forgettable. And also when
NPCs are talking to me. It's like it's just so long and unnecessary
They should just tell me what to do and go. Anyway, I
Shouldn't keep you any longer.
I'd expect to see some tomatoes fly.
Gameplay of Horizon Zero Dawn can be repetitive, a lot of hostile people have really bad AI's, and there are major
difficulty spikes from time to time.
But overall it's fun! In areas infiltrated with mobs...
You can either go head in and risk being taken out or go
Sneaky and risk time being wasted. Side missions are completely optional!
If you don't want to do a side mission
You can literally jump over someone! You can do these things called jobs to earn
Specific items. And the weapons and gear in this game are just INCREDIBLE!
The lore is by far the best part of this game. It's like Star Wars... There's a name for everything and there's a backstory.
Questions, like what time frame Horizon Zero Dawn is in, how the robot animals were created, and who created the robot
Animals? Are answered throughout the game.
