7 Surprising Causes Of High Blood Pressure - Duration: 8:43.

7 Surprising Causes Of High Blood Pressure.

Quick -– what causes high blood pressure?

The first culprits that pop into your mind are likely to be: eating too much salt, being

stressed out all the time, and alcohol abuse.

And you would be right.

But there are also less obvious causes of high blood pressure, a condition that affects

about one in three, or 78 million, adults in the U.S.

"The best data demonstrates that hypertension is almost unavoidable as we age," says Clyde

Yancy, MD, chief of cardiology and associate director of the Bluhm Cardiovascular Institute

in Chicago, Illinois.

"Once we reach age 55, we have a 90 percent chance of becoming hypertensive."

Yet that inevitability doesn't mean we can't do something about it.

Step one is to modify your lifestyle: lose weight, exercise, and eat a wholesome diet,

explains Dr. Yancy.

Another thing you can do: Get to know these less well-known blood pressure factors:

1.

BPAs.

A new study published in the journal Hypertension says the chemical BPA found in the lining

of some of cans and plastic bottles could seep into food and drink and raise blood pressure.

Previous studies have shown that chronic exposure to BPA is associated with heart disease and

high blood pressure.

This newest study is the first to show a direct and quick impact on blood pressure levels.

Though it's too soon to comment about the certainty about the consequences, Dr. Yancy

notes, "we should continue to think about this carefully."

In the meantime, reduce your risk by using BPA-free products, eat less canned food, and

opt for non-plastic containers, like glass, porcelain or stainless steel, when serving

hot foods and liquid.

Also, avoid microwaving plastic food containers made with BPA, as the chemical may break down

over time from repeated use at high temperatures.

2.

Sugar.

Too much of the sweet stuff may not just be bad for your waistline—it can be bad for

your blood pressure, too.

In fact, sugar may hurt your heart health more than salt, say many experts.

Recent research published in several medical journals suggests that dietary guidelines

for treating high blood pressure should focus on reducing the amount of added sugars.

They blame fructose in particular, the sugar that is generally added to processed foods

and drinks, for being the major player in the development of hypertension.

The American Heart Association (AHA) recommends women eat no more than six teaspoons (100

calories) of added sugar per day and no more than nine (150 calories) for men.

For example, just one 16-ounce can of non-diet soda contains more than nine teaspoons of

added sugar!

A good place to start reducing consumption would be to limit processed foods, which are

most likely to contain high amounts of the more-dangerous type of sugar.

3.

Sleep apnea.

Turns out this common disorder, which often goes undiagnosed, leads snoring, restless

nights—and possibly, elevated blood pressure.

That's because, says the National Sleep Foundation, when your breathing is interrupted,

the oxygen level in your body falls.

Your brain then sends signals through your nervous system to increase the flow of oxygen

to the heart and brain, thereby tightening up your blood vessels.

Frequent drops in your blood oxygen level, along with reduced quality of sleep, can also

trigger the release of stress hormones, which raise your heart rate and increase your risk

for high blood pressure.

Lifestyle changes (like losing weight if you are overweight), mouthpieces, surgery and

breathing devices can successfully treat sleep apnea.

4.

Loneliness.

Spending time with friends has been linked to better health and well-being, but the flip

side of that—feeling lonesome—takes a toll not only on your confidence, happiness

and stress levels, but also on your blood pressure.

So says a five-year study at the University of Chicago, which, for the first time, showed

a direct correlation between loneliness and high blood pressure among people 50 years

old and older.

Blood pressure increase was first observed two years into the study, and continued to

increase until four years later.

"Conversely, when you're with close friends and have social supports you can depend on,

you tend to feel more relaxed," says friendship expert Irene S. Levine, Ph.D., who is also

a professor of psychiatry at the NYU School of Medicine.

"Set aside time for friendships, but recognize that not all of them last forever.

That's why it's important to cultivate new friendships, too," she says.

5.

Hot tubs and saunas.

Ahhh… that heat feels good, especially when it's cold outside or your muscles and joints

ache.

But beware of hot tubs and saunas if you already have high blood pressure, says the AHA.

Since the heat from hot tubs and saunas causes blood vessels to open up (similar to what

happens during normal activities, like a brisk walk), the AHA says that if your doctor has

told you to avoid moderate exercise, you should use caution when considering hot tubs and

saunas.

Saunas are particularly problematic, since the temperature is difficult to control, he

says.

"If you do use a hot tub, set the temperature to about 90 degrees Fahrenheit, and be careful

you don't overheat."

6.

Medications.

Prescription and over-the-counter medications are designed to enhance your health, right?

Yes, but certain drugs could be putting your blood pressure at risk, finds a study published

in the Archives of Internal Medicine.

According to the Mayo Clinic, people who take acetaminophen (Tylenol) daily are more likely

to develop high blood pressure than those who don't take it.

Also, certain pain and anti-inflammatory medications can raise your blood pressure, including ibuprofen

(Advil, Motrin IB) and naproxen sodium (Aleve).

And if you take an antidepressant, check your blood pressure regularly—Venlafaxine (Effexor),

Bupropion (Wellbutrin), and Desipramine (Norpramin) have been shown to raise blood pressure.

Even certain herbal supplements, like ginseng, licorice and ephedra (ma huang), may have

the same effect.

Decongestants (or medications that contain them), as well as inhalers (both prescribed

and over-the-counter) can also promote a higher blood pressure, warns Dr. Yancy.

Always remember to check with your doctor or pharmacist if you're concerned about

your medications and your blood pressure.

7.

Thyroid problems.

A 2007 study published in the Journal Hypertension reported a correlation between hypothyroidism

(when the thyroid gland doesn't produce enough thyroid hormone) and high blood pressure.

When compared with volunteers, patients with the condition had significantly higher blood

pressure readings.

Conversely, hyperthyroidism (when there's too much hormone produced) can also result

in higher-than-normal blood pressure readings.

And then there's a condition known as hyperparathyroidism, one type of which may be accountable for a

high reading as well.

This parathyroid condition affects hormone regulation and can result in too much calcium

in the blood which has been associated with elevated blood pressure, says the Mayo Clinic.

So, the channel was on a hiatus

but my vacations finally started, so I'm going to record videos again

Happy New Year!

Hi! name is Pedro and welcome to the Imperador Bey's channel

I just wanted to record this quick announcement

to tell you that the channel has been on a hiatus recently

I already had recorded some unboxings

and some older videos already finished

that I'm going to re-edit and post

including unboxings from Victory Valkryrie, Takara Tomy

from legend Spryzen and from Xcalius X3 (set with sword launcher)

so...

I'm only going to re edit and post this videos

it's going to me an unboxing marathon

((dates and schedules were edited))

because on the last day,

I'm going to make a battle marathon

soo, comment any battle sugestions

and thanks for watching

could you pleeeeease like the video? c:

hi! I'm Pedro and welcome to Imperador Bey's channel

today, we have an unboxing

of a bey that I was sooo excited to get

who is legend Spryzen S3

spryzen's third version

it's a bey from Beyblade Burst Evolution

of the switchstrike system

it's official and original from Hasbro

it comes with the standart switchstrike launcher

that spins both

left and right, which is pretty good for this bey

here it says that the energy layer spins on both directions

it explains how it works

so, left spinning AND right spinning

it shows the forge disc, D30, also known as 7

and its performance tip, TB06, also known as Merge

here, it explains the switchstrike gimmick

that has an adjustable spin direction

and behind this seal

that people in Brazil use to guarantee its a safe and original toy

explains that it has...

how can I say it?

a variable rotation

something 'round this

depending on the spin direction

it's going to have a different movement pattern

if it spins to the left, it will be round

if going to the right, just like a flower pattern

that's not how it works... precisely, tho

here we have some stats, 7 attack

7 weight, which is true

3 burst, 4 speed

2 defense, 2 stamina

the beyblade burst site link

some logos, wbba, sunrights (anime studio) and d-rights (the publisher)

aaand, Hasbro's

here, kids under 3yo, avoid this toy

it could cause choking

or an eye bleeding, lol

and that's it

here, beyblade burst app

it does have a qr code, so...

and, ok, now that's it

I'm going to be opening this and I'll be right back

I got it out of tha packaging

just focusing the camera

a basic manual

and it explains how to use Spryzen's gimmick

that I'm going to show in details soon

ripcord with a plastic part that... it's going to be useful

it works with spryzen, so it's a full set

launcher, every single part

just going to get them

I'll be right back

again

and, Hasbro...

it's impossible to unpack it without destroying the packaging

like, seriously

I'm a bit sad about it

but, the content over the box

I'm back >.<

here we have all the parts

after my camera fell on the ground

buuuuut, no problem

let's start talking about its parts

first, we have the driver

or performance tip

that I really want to focus, hopefully won't drop the camera this time

focus

my camera just doesn't want to help

yay, got it. So, this is the Merge driver

by hasbro names, TB06

but no one cares about this codes

so, whatever

it's pretty similar to the unite driver

that comes on Spryzen S2

that has a plastic tip on the middle

surrounded by rubber

I Didn't Get 4000 Watch Hours In 2018. Do I Need To Start Again? 💰🤔 - Duration: 4:21.

- I'm sure that you will already know

that if you're working towards

monetizing your YouTube channel,

you need 1,000 subscribers and

4,000 hours of watch time over 12 months.

But what does 12 months mean?

As we move from 2018 to 2019, does that reset everything?

We've got the answer, let's do this.

♪ VidIQ. ♪

♪ VidIQ. ♪

♪ VidIQ.com ♪ (Electronic music)

YouTube have a support page about this question,

which we will leave a link to in the video description.

It directly states that you are eligible

to apply for the YouTube partner program,

that's monetization to you and me,

if you meet all of these requirements.

1,000 subscribers is a fixed number,

and there is no time limit to reach this,

but you must have 4,000 watch hours

in the previous 12 months.

So, in a nutshell, you need 4,000 hours of watch time

in the last 12 months, up until today's date,

whatever date that is.

Let's say it's January the first.

YouTube will count all of the watch time on your channel,

dating back to January the second of the previous year.

Then, when the date moves forward to January the second,

it counts the date all the way back to January the third.

So it effectively counts the last 365 days

worth of watch time on your channel.

This is why your watch time may actually go down,

as you are trying to achieve 4,000 hours of watch time.

As an example, list channel had a big spike in watch time

almost 12 months ago, and then as time moves forward,

they lose that spike in watch time.

The channel hasn't performed as well,

so they have less watch time over the last 12 months.

Let's say then, in 2018 you got 3,000 hours of watch time.

That's awesome.

As we move into 2019, you're going to lose

a tiny fraction of that, so just keep working hard,

and you'll be at 4,000 hours of watch time, very soon.

And another thing, you don't have to wait

12 months to hit monetization.

If you get 4,000 hours of watch time in three months,

that's awesome, you'll just need 1,000 subscribers,

and then you're eligible immediately.

And remember, that's eligible.

You've got to apply and then be approved

before you can start monetizing your content.

If you're still finding this all a little confusing,

we have the perfect tool which will tell you

exactly what you need to know.

If you have the VidIQ Chrome extension installed,

you will find this real time stats bar,

on the top of every single YouTube page

on your desktop layout.

This shows you your channel analytics in real time.

But here's where the magic happens.

If your channel has less than

4,000 hours of watch time in the last 12 months,

it automatically adds a new analytic to the left,

which is your monetization analytics target.

In this example, the channel has

3,100 hours of watch time in the last 12 months.

You can also quickly see the number of subscribers

you have on your channel, as well,

on the right-hand side of the real time stats bar.

But we're not finished there.

Because if you mouse over the graph button to the right,

this will show you a full breakdown of your channel,

including the watch time over the last 12 months,

at the very top of these charts.

You'll also see a percentage progress bar

on the right-hand side,

telling you exactly how close you are

to hitting 4,000 hours of watch time.

Oh, and one more thing.

When you're under 4,000 hours of watch time,

this analytic will remain amber.

Once you surpass 4,000 hours of watch time,

congratulations, you've hit the target!

When you surpass 5,000 hours of watch time,

this analytic removes itself from the real time stats bar,

as you no longer need it.

And since we understand that this is

a goal to monetize your content,

this real time stats bar is completely free,

as part of the VidIQ Chrome extension.

It is a no-brainer, download it right now.

One more question, I know what you want to ask.

I've got 4,000 hours of watch time,

I've monetized my content, but then I fall below

4,000 hours of watch time over 12 months.

What happens then?

The good news is that YouTube won't automatically

remove you from the partner program

if you fall below 4,000 hours of watch time,

but it does reserve the right to.

For example, if you stop posting on YouTube,

and it's clear that you're inactive.

So don't panic, there is no 2019

YouTube watch time reset button.

Just keep working hard,

and you'll reach that goal in no time.

If you have even more questions

about 4,000 hours of watch time,

believe it or not, we've done a mammoth guide here,

and monetization, in general, is a huge topic on YouTube,

and we've got a huge playlist down here.

We'll see you on either of those videos right now.

Enjoy the rest of your video making day!

Trying out a Staedtler calligraphy set 🖋 ✒ - Duration: 55:33.

welcome back to Candys Art World I'm Candy and today we're going to try this

new calligraphy set it is by Stadler Or Staedtler it has 33 pieces it has four

pins five nibs 20 ink cartridges a pump practice paper pad instruction book

storage tin that it comes in a nice 10 and it's got this cardboard around it

that explains what it's got in there let's open it up

don't know the best way to open this without destroying it out here there was

a little piece of tape there just up on that part hopefully can slide it out

oh very nice it's a very nice little tin that it's in let's open that up and it's

hinged oh wow that is beautiful beautiful

I am so excited to try these that just lifts off and this is velvety little

spots that everything goes in and it has really skinny nibs up to fatter nibs and

it's got all different kinds of colors of ink

I think this lifts out ah it does

and put that back in there

if I can

okay they have instructions let's see

ah they have a whole half of it in this book oh there's another alphabet style

and another one so it has three different styles you can try let's take

a look again

I think I might want to try that italic style today we will see and then has

practice people pad oh nice it's almost like

grafting paper but it's got a a slant to it let's take a piece out don't know if

the peaches are about or what's

okay I made a mess of it

this apparently you're supposed to keep the pages in but I didn't want it to

blade through to the next page so we shall try it on a ripped page the first

pain oh that's so pretty

it's got a little I don't know the technical term for that but it's to hold

in any pocket or whatever morning she's like a shirt pocket

that is nice I wonder if the lids fit on the ends

with the nip on ah it does yeah the 5m below set wouldn't close when I

had the nib on it so I guess we can try this nib that's already on here

I think yep these are their pins you can choose a different nib you can also

choose different nib for this pin and if you have a bottle of ink you take this

and you fill it up and then you can use that as your cartridge

I think it's a twist yep so you would twist you put it in the ink and you

twist and it'll suction up ink into there you just fill it up like that and

then you can put it inside your pen and use that so if you run out of these

little inks you can use one of these use that and use some separating that you

buy there's so many colors of ink I don't know where to start let's see

let's go with blue because I have never tried a blue ink so you just put it in

it in the hole and you push down until it clicks and then it's in there

okay then you screw this part back on and you put the lid back on and that's a

close little case and put that off to the side I don't know if this actually

shows you how to put it together it tells you how to take care of your pan

tells you some of the stuff that you might need besides what's in the set not

see and have instruction on how to put it together but I'm not reading it all

the way through since since I learned how to put it together with that 5 one

below pin but this one is by Stadler so I'm hoping that the ink flow is more

natural and you don't have to dip it in ink in order to get it to flow I'm going

to zoom in a little bit and we shall see

ooh I started already yay

so this is not the most this is not the most thick of nibs let me zoom in a

little bit more but the ink flow is really nice let's see oh these alphabets

are just oh just the uppercase up here and then the lowercase is underneath all

together by itself but let's do the lowercase with it okay maybe not holding

it right

go

Oh

there is the lowercase a

uppercase B

I just gotta find the right angle for holding this particular pin

I did the wrong order you're supposed to do this part of the B first and then

this part and a lowercase B

if I can just remember which angle

this is not the pins fall this is my fault

I'm sure

see why I keep changing that angle I guess

or maybe I need to hold it up bright for a little bit

so the ink can flow down in there let's see

if I can just remember the angle in which

let it turn on me only so maybe the shadows won't be so bad

all right let's try another nib and another pin strike a green nib I mean a

green pen with this bickering it it's not the biggest nib but it's a big

earner nib let's try a green ink oops I'm out of frame push it in until

it clicks

the cap on the end

you

okay I got the pen to work now I didn't have the ink pushed all the way down in

thought I did and I propped up my board in my art board a little bit with the

little metal tin to see if that helps me have the right angles and let's go on to

the C this is a broad

this paper and ink combination bleeds a little bit or feathers out spreads out

but let's see

but this is a very large nib

I was about to go in

snack there we go

so bad a little bit

so here's the alphabet mostly in green it didn't bleed through onto my paper I

head here I did go through this paper a little bit but it didn't get on to this

paper I have taped to my board and I think this is a lot neater than why I've

been doing

I mix some of my own letters and with its on accident just from habit and

let's see if I can get the blue one don't work again I would like to write

happy new year or maybe I try a whole different color

let's go with this black one

maybe this really big one and the purple ink now I looked in the book and it does

tell you how to put it together it says to make sure this clicks in see if you

can hear it did you hear the click that means it's in and then I said to put the

other one like this in the barrel that probably helps keep it stabilized in the

pen or that way if that one runs out you can just pop out and flip it around

oh that sounds floppy I don't know if then I think it's just that one so I'm

not going to put that in there

okay this is I think it's purple

unless it's pink nope it's pink looks kind of purply in the the jar oh very

pretty very quick to run as long as I keep my pin at the right angle but I

think I was trying a little too hard to have it at the right angle it's not as

finicky is I was thinking it is so let's just try

that's not prop it up

that flows very nicely

and this is watercolor paper that's why that did that because there's a bridge

in the paper

you

again

I think that came out pretty good let's try the black the blue see if I can get

that one to work without

I like that too let's try the green

I like that I think there was one more yep there's one more pin so we might as

well pick a nib and try another color how about orange we track orange there's

outside bring the yellow I would love to try those too but I think we'll try an

orange it's colorful tips let's put the cap on it yet put this end on it

think it clicked

and this this nib size

it's the one two three the third one in the set

so I think it'll be that's the first one

and the second one is still in the case so let me the skinniest and that one and

that one is the biggest so this will be your than this but smaller than that

okay let's see

maybe give it a second

let's make sure that the ink is actually clipped in it is I just got to find the

right angle for it again the sets really nice um I'm just still learning so I

appreciate you guys bearing with me through the process

I will be right back

I'm back we had another operator error I didn't have the ink down in there good

you really got to make sure that it clicks and that's what opens the ink

otherwise you'll see here thinking that the pin is broken when it's just not got

any ink flowing to it let's try this

color I like the orange let's see if I can zoom you in a little bit

these pens tend to work better when you are going at a more steady pace instead

of the start and stops that I've been doing the start and stops happen just

because of the trying to make up my mind before I put the pen down

so the more confident you are the better your ink will flow everything takes

practice just don't be afraid to pick it up and try I've really really really I'm

glad that I got this set I think I think I will be able to do quite a lot with it

there's the pink ink with the biggest nib there's the blue with the smallest

nib there's the green with the second

largest and there's the orange with the second or third smaller smallest um

because I'm not sure if that nib is the same size as the one that came in the

pen originally nope I think it's a little bit bigger so

there's one more size that you can use that's in this set which is really nice

set all the pieces can go back in can go back in so you can keep them all nice

and store them nicely I think maybe you're supposed to do it with these

parts up of course I did it upside down on all of them but you know this is this

brand is Stadler Blount brand their coat there

mechanical pencil that I have I really like these I really like I would just

have to keep playing with them and in practice practice practice but it's fun

to practice this even if you don't get perfect with a specific alphabet your

handwriting will end up being better because of the practice just keep

practicing and then you will have really nice handwriting

that pets went to the cursive there let's see what a cursive G looks like

with this

and you couldn't you end up developing your own handwriting style

lowercase I not yes I

you

and just me going with the flow with what came out I'm going to see if I

over a year now, and I thought, "What better time than to

start on January 1st?" So here we are. So, as this is my first YouTube video, let me

introduce myself. Let's just say this is kind of like a get-to-know-me tag. I put

together a number of questions that help prompt me to tell you more about me.

Number One: What is your name? My first name really is Charlie,

but I'm not sharing my real last name for privacy reasons. However, Ariel

isn't completely random. You see, I'm a Reform Jew, and Ariel is my Hebrew

name. It means "lion of God", and I'm a cat lover, so I guess it worked out! Number Two:

Do you play any instruments? Yes. I play piano, guitar, clarinet, and ukulele, and I

want to learn more. I love music - mostly pop. I plan to do a lot of covers and

even some original songs on this channel. Number Three: How do you identify your

gender and sexuality right now? At the moment, I identify as gay and gender

fluid. I am pronoun indifferent, which means I

am okay with any pronouns, especially he, she, and they. I'm still exploring my

gender and sexuality. This channel is very open to diversity and inclusion. If

I ever say anything that offends someone, please kindly let me know so that I can

learn too. I am not perfect, and I am by no means an expert on LGBTQ+ topics. But

I would like to make it a focus of this channel. Number Four: What are your goals

in life? Well, also starting January 1st, I'm trying to be vegan, so we'll see how

that works out. In the long run, I want to be a published author, and

I also want to have at least one album of professionally recorded original

songs. I definitely aspire to be a crazy cat lady someday. But for now, I'm just

focusing on making this YouTube channel a space where people can escape from the

chaos of life and just have a bit of fun. Which leads me right into our next

question! Number Five: Why are you starting a YouTube channel? I am inspired

by so many YouTubers out there. To name a few, Colleen Ballinger,

Melanie Murphy, Ash Hardel, dodie, and Rachel and Jun. Trust me, there's plenty

more. But I feel like my channel's going to be kind of like the average of all of

the channels that I just mentioned. I really got interested in YouTube in 2016,

and quickly realized that it sounded like the ideal job for me. I don't know

if this will work out as a full-time occupation, but I just thought I'd play

around and start out before graduating high school so I can try to get my life

together, if that makes any sense. So yeah! Thank you so much for watching! I hope

you enjoyed the video, and I hope you have a great day. Bye!
