Pretty wonderful you first walked in here maybe feel a bit sick or this

beauty the overwhelming gutter or failing of John away I mean I don't

think I've ever been in a building that smoked godlike where you think that you

could see God flying up in here you know wait that's exactly what he wants you to

feel if God was gonna have some windows there Bay's winders yeah that's right

it's like a spinning kaleidoscope in here all the time but what you're

looking at is almost the entire Bible represented in color and light it's a

quite big book and we're within that book thus a Chappell is a space designed

to house the crown of thorns and that first arrived as a gift to King Louie

the ninth in the year 12:39 this was built just nine years later to hold that

gift the people around Louie the ninth believed that because he had the crown

of thorns it means that he sort of made Paris into a new paradise because at the

end of time when Christ comes back to judge he needs to wear his crown again

so where does he come back to make that judgment the palace in Paris so he's not

just building this for himself at all for the return of Claus return of Christ

he's giving Christ a throne room on earth that's why the man who hated

luxury is glorifying this space because it's for Christ the true king and he

shout out loud did it there was actually one more thing I need to tell you about

King Louie the ninth he wasn't just a king he was a saint

27 years after his death the Pope canonized him st. Louis there are very

few Saints that aren't virgins or martyrs so to have the blood of a saint

in your blood is an extraordinary thing there is

and it's just so much to take in you know just lights recite that blood is

secret blood it works miracles in the church I'm not gonna coach him through

my veins

shall we have a look at the high altar the high altar the space you're about to

enter was reserved just for King Louie the ninth in his lifetime and then only

the kings of France

and up there would have been the relic of the crown of thorns which today is

loved way at notre-dame Cathedral

first time I really they feel like okay

so there's 33 coins in there which is weird because it was age 33 the Christ

died so I'll leave that with you

let's just have it rolled but I did find it difficult not to swear terrible

really in it and I'm not gonna swear much in the future

you

What If Moses Was Real? - Duration: 5:26.

Moses, the prophet and hero of the Hebrew bible.

He's been depicted countless times in literary works and cinema.

But the general consensus among scholars is that he was a legendary figure, and not an

actual person who existed in real life.

So what if moses was real?

That's the question we're asking, right now on life's biggest questions.

Hello and welcome back to life's biggest questions, the channel that asks the fundamental

questions of life, and occasionally answers them too!

I'm charlotte dobre, hit that subscribe for more daily questions that will have you

asking more questions.

And make sure you stick around until the end of the video where we will be responding to

users comments Most of us are familiar with the story of

moses by now.

It states in the book of exodus that moses was born during a time when the Israelites

were enslaved, and increasing in numbers.

The Egyptian pharoh who ruled them was growing concerned that the Israelites might form alliances

with egypts enemies.

So the pharroah ordered all newborn hebru babies to be killed, to still the growth of

the Hebrew population.

But moses, during this purge, was hidden by his mother Jochebed, set him afloat along

the nile river.

He was found by the pharaohs daughter Bithia, He was adopted by the royal family, and named

moses, an Egyptian name.

Somewhere along the way, moses found out he was Hebrew, and he killed an Egyptian slavemaster

for brutally assaulting a hebru.

Moses fled Egypt and went to Midian, where he encountered god, who spoke to im through

a burning bush.

God demanded that moses be sent back to Egypt to demand the release of the Israelites from

slavery.

But the pharaoh refused his request.

So as a result, god sent 10 plages upon Egypt.

Then, Led by moses, the slaves fled Egypt and crossed the red sea, which moses parted.

This event is commemorate this event on Passover.

The Israelites based themselves at mount Sinai, and moses then received the 10 commendments.

Moses is also mentioned in the koran, only in the Koran, he is called Musa.

He is also mentioned in Christian scripture, and he appeared to jesus at the transfiguration.

And Moses is supposed to have been the person who wrote the torah.

But Outside of biblical scripture, there is hardly any evidence that proves that he exists.

That's right, nada..

No archological records, no historical records.

Egyptians, who were famous for their records, mention moses or the series of events in Exodus.

There isn't even a time frame for when the events that took place in the exodus happened.

We also don't know who the pharoh in exodus was.

Films portray him as ramesses the second.

But historians have not found any evidence to support the claim that he lived during

the reign of Ramesses the second.

According to Cyprian Broodbank, professor of archaeology at Cambridge university, exodus

was, at best, a refracted folk memory of earlier expulsions of Levantine people.

I mean think about it.

Religious historians say the Israelite population of Egypt at 2 to 3 million people.

2 to 3 million men women and children fleeing Egypt?

Why isn't there any historical record of that anywhere?

Egyptologists have reportedly fond no record of the hebru people in Egypt, or the 10 plagues.

That being said, there were 100 Egyptian kinds that are not accounted for, only 20 are confirmed

by inscriptions.

And the area of the nile delta was damp, and any evidence could have been destroyed.

If Moses was real, it would have been more likely that he left Egypt with a much smaller

exodus group, not millions of people, perhaps a few thousand.

And the 10 plagues?

Its unlikely that they happened.

The 10 plagues are probably just myths.

At least, I hope they were.

But, If Moses was real, that would mean he somehow crossed the red sea with fleeing slaves.

He might not have parted the red sea with the help of god, but There are a couple of

scientific explanations for this iconic story.

According to some experts, models suggest that strong winds could have swept through

a lagoon in the Nile delta, not the actual red sea.

Essentially, the red sea was likely not a sea, but a sea of reeds, a swamp.

Interestingly, Yam Suph, the name for the red sea, could be translated to reed sea or

red sea.

This could have created a channel that would have allowed the fleeing Israelites to cross.

The sea of reeds once laid where the suez canal now runs.

Crossing a swamp isn't nearly as cool as crossing a sea that has bee parted in two,

but it might have been what actually happened if Moses was in fact a real person.

According to actor Christian bale who played moses in the film Exodus: God and kings, Moses

was likely schizophrenic, and he's also one of the most barbaric characters he's

ever read about in his entire life.

I mean, that's definitely a possibility.

Moses did talk to a burning bush that he believed was god.

If moses was real and bushes really were speaking to him, I would be pretty concerned for him.

But just because moses was probably not an actual person, at least not the person described

in exodus, that doesn't mean the story of exodus is not significant or important.

But we hope this video has at least given you some insight into what actually happened,

and what would happen if moses was real.

For now, Im going to wrap up this video with some comment replies from my last video, what

if the earth were under attack Bryze – it is by t series.

Well played.

The wigless sister – what if spongebob was real?

My life would be complete Dominick Majors – I wonder why no on eever

considers the possibility that aliens aren't super advanced.

For sure people consider it.

But for the purposes of the topic you commented on, the aliens would have to be advanced,

otherwise they couldn't travel to earth to attack it.

Allison Hall – I love your videos they are the best.

Aw thank you Alison im glad you like them.

Pikachu Overlord – what if the cast of life's biggest questions was being held captive and

forced to feed us information?

Shhh don't tell our captors but that's whats actually happening right now.

Why Doctors Use Stethoscopes - Duration: 3:03.

Ah yes, the stethoscope.

A universal symbol of medicine.

But you must be wondering, what in the world are these pieces of rubber doing next to high

tech equipment like MRI scanners and robotic surgery?

Surely these are obsolete relics from the 19th century!

Well the answer lies at the intersection of history, the human body and technology.

The Stethoscope was invented in 1816 by a French Physician called René Laennec.

René invented it because he was a gentleman and he felt uncomfortable putting his ear

on women's chests to hear their heart sounds.

And no I'm not making that up!

But why would you want to listen to the heart sounds in the first place?

A key challenge for a doctor is to find out what's happening inside the human body,

without resorting to opening it up.

As technology has progressed, we have found different ways of peering inside a living

person without harming them, things like X-rays, ultrasound and MRI.

But the first X-ray wasn't taken until 1895 and an X-ray can only provide you with a still

image.

It can't tell you about what's happening inside the body in real time.

As a physician in the early 1800s, René knew that listening to the heart sounds can provide

a clue to whether the heart valves are working properly.

In our hearts, there are 4 valves that help push blood only in one direction.

When the valves shut, they make a sound and the normal heartbeat has 2 clearly distinguishable sounds.

When the heart valves don't function properly, you can hear this whooshing sound as blood

passes through them.

For example, this is the sound of a common heart valve condition called Aortic Stenosis.

You can hear this sound even if you put your ear to someone's chest.

Of course, modern stethoscopes make this much less awkward, but also amplify the sound.

Stethoscopes are not just useful for the heart.

You can also listen to the lungs to check if air is passing freely in and out, the intestines

to check whether the gut is working after having an operation and stethoscopes also

help you when taking someone's blood pressure.

Technology has advanced dramatically since the 1800s.

We now have automatic blood pressure machines that require little human input, ultrasound

Echocardiography that helps us see the heart valves in real time and CT scanning which

can provide detailed images of the lung.

This doesn't mean that stethoscopes have become obsolete.

These humble pieces of rubber are still an important screening tool.

If we hear something odd, then we may follow up with a more sophisticated test like an

Echocardiogram.

In countries where healthcare resources are scarce, basic tools like the stethoscope become

even more important because sometimes, critical decisions may need to be made without having

access scanning equipment like CT scans.

Just like a fancy self-driving electric car still needs wheels, Doctors and Nurses will

continue to use a stethoscope as an important part of the medical toolkit.

As always if you have any questions let me know in the comments.

Thanks for watching and I'll see you in the next one.

Lavrov: US Policy Aimed at Toppling Venezuela's Government - Duration: 8:14.

Russia has expressed readiness to help promote understanding between responsible forces in Venezuela. Can such talks succeed if the United States is interfering in developments in Venezuela and supporting the opposition?

We are deeply distressed by what the United States and its closest allies are doing to Venezuela. They have violated international law by taking the path towards overthrowing the legitimate government in that Latin American country.

We learned about new sanctions today, namely the decision to freeze the foreign reserves of the Central Bank and the government of Venezuela.

The United States has used this illegal and wrongful method before, against other countries' assets. It froze the assets of Iraq, Libya, Iran, Cuba, Nicaragua and Panama. In most cases, this amounted to the confiscation of foreign governments' assets.

The UK authorities have done the same by seizing, in effect confiscating, Venezuela's gold holdings in in London.

Apart from seriously undermining whatever trust there still is in the international financial system based on the domination of the US dollar, this deepens the social crisis in Venezuela and is obviously designed to encourage the illegal activities of the opposition.

According to the available information, the opposition leaders who have declared dual power, have received instructions from Washington to reject any compromises until the Venezuelan government cedes power, in one way or another.

It was reported today that sanctions have been imposed on the Venezuelan oil and gas company PDVSA and its US subsidiary Citgo.

At the same time, these sanctions do not affect US companies in Venezuela, which gives rise to cynicism.

They want to change the Venezuelan government and also to profit from this.

As it is said, the United States has taken the bit between its teeth and is openly working to overthrow a legitimate government.

But this does not mean we can stop using any means available to uphold international law.

We will work together with all the other responsible members of the international community to support the efforts of the legitimate government of Nicolas Maduro to protect Venezuela's Constitution and to find a constitutional solution to the crisis.

During the telephone conversation with your Iranian colleague, Foreign Minister Javad Zarif, the sides reaffirmed their willingness to facilitate mutual understanding between the political forces of Venezuela. What practical steps does this imply?

As for opportunities for international assistance to settling the crisis in Venezuela, in my reply to the previous question I mentioned some very serious obstacles that the US and its closest allies are putting in their path.

I've just read a report about yesterday's news conference by US National Security Advisor John Bolton.

According to the media, he carelessly left his notepad in view of the cameras.

The notepad had the words "5,000 troops to Colombia" written on it.

This gives one food for thought, especially considering that the appeals to use Venezuela's neighbours for direct intervention under the pretext of the grievous humanitarian situation are openly made in the US and some other countries.

Yet, we noted that despite ultimatums to Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro by a number of EU members, the statement made by High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini on behalf of the EU is more reserved and suggests establishing a contact group.

Now we are trying to clear up what our European colleagues have in mind and how they plan to implement this idea, if at all.

In addition, member countries of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) are also seriously concerned about the developments in Venezuela and the plans of some aggressive outside players regarding that country.

They are also trying to find opportunities for international mediation.

As you know, President Maduro and his representatives, in particular, Foreign Minister Jorge Alberto Arreaza Montserrat, have repeatedly spoken out in favour of talks with the opposition.

Judging by its reaction, the opposition is under heavy pressure from those who prohibit it from establishing contract with the legitimate government.

Nevertheless, considering the signals from the EU, the interest of the Caribbean countries and the striving of India and China to prevent disastrous developments,

we would like to try and understand what the international community can do to prevent yet another crude violation of international law and regime change by force and steer the developments into the constitutional framework.

Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif and I discussed this yesterday. Just like us, he would like to find opportunities for external players to be useful to the Venezuelan people.

They should encourage all responsible Venezuelan leaders to conduct dialogue rather than instigate riots and violent confrontation.
