What is CBD Oil? Benefits & Review of Diamond CBD - Duration: 3:07.

Hey guys! So today I'm reviewing a couple

products from diamond CBD. I have a cream

from them, this is their extra-strength

pain relief and I also have one of their

oils so go ahead and give this video a

thumbs up and subscribe and let's get

into it so you've probably heard of CBD

but you may not know what it is I know

this has been getting popular over this

past year especially I've seen a few

products out there on social media and I

was curious about this as well but CBD

is actually a cannabis compound that has

significant benefits but it does not

make people feel stoned and can actually

counteract the psychoactivity of THC

so basically CBD will give you the

benefits but it will not make you high

and I wanted to try out diamonds DVDs

products because they're America's

number one choice for a CBD brand so

I've actually been using these two

products and I've really been liking

them I'm someone who likes to work out

every week and I tend to get sore

muscles and that's what I like to use

the cream for some days my upper body

will be more sore some days my legs will

be more sore so I'll just use this cream

on any sore muscles and in the next day

if I do a workout I'll focus on a

different muscle group or the next day

might be a rest day so either way that's

a plus I like this because I've tried

this out and it tends to work within

minutes so I'll just rub it on any sore

muscle and that muscle just doesn't feel

sore anymore it just feels relaxed the

other product I have is one of their

oils and I like using this because I

tend to be an anxious person and I've

gotten to the point where I can really

limit anxiety I guess because I do

workouts I practice meditation I try to

take caffeine out of my day as soon as

possible I usually don't drink caffeine

after noon so I feel like there's only

so many things I can do to kind of beat

anxiety but I still find myself having

it yeah again after doing a workout and

meditation and still feeling anxious

that sucks so I've tried this out and I

have been really enjoying it so there's

a few different ways you can use this

oil you could actually put a few drops

under your tongue which is kind of my

preferred way I've also put this in

foods or in a liquid like a beverage

I've added a few drops to tea before it

like a decaffeinated green tea and I

really like that but another thing you

can do with this oil is you could add it

to a vape pen so you could vape with the

CBD oil as well so moving on to just a

few benefits of CBE I've already talked

about a couple of them in this video

pain relief especially when it comes to

like sore muscles and being able to use

this cream also reducing

and that's just awesome because I feel

like I've gotten more anxious recently

because I'm working on some really

exciting projects like big projects as

exciting as that can be it also brings

some anxiety so I want to keep working

on those projects and be able to do what

I need to do to get these projects done

another benefit with the CBD oil is

reducing acne so I think that's pretty

awesome again I've just started getting

into CBD and I think diamond CBD is a

great company I think they're a great

brand and I also like that they have a

wide range of products so if you go

I think that's really cool so you can

kind of try out what you like and again

I like CBD because it doesn't get you

high and it doesn't make you paranoid or

steps a day challenge because I want to

try and make my baseline activity for

the day a little more active.

My name is Fatima

I decided to do the 10,000 steps

challenge because I thought I wasn't walking enough

I'm Kim and I signed up to do the 10,000 steps a day

for the accountability

Hi, I'm Erica. I'm doing the 10,000 steps challenge

because I know I definitely don't walk enough

I'm hoping after 30 days that I'll see a

little bit more definition, I think that's always good

and I think it's really cool to be able to see those

kind of results from just walking

because I think people would think like

walking, not really a form of exercise

but there's old ladies out there getting it

with their steps in every day and

they seem pretty limber and fit

I'm hoping to lose a little weight because I

feel that I don't exercise enough and

that'll push me a little

I feel like I'm skinny fat

and I'd like to decrease my body fat percentage

I would love to feel

a little bit more mobile and less stiff

and also reduce stress

How many steps a day would you say you typically take?

I think I take average 3,000 to 4,000

I usually take between 3,000 and 5,000

steps a day and that's thanks to my dog

You know what's sad? I actually walk to work currently

You do?

I do! And I still only get like 5,000 steps a day

because I live very close to work

I usually take about probably 2,000 to

3,000 a day during the week

on the weekends it's different probably like

20,000 because I like to go on long hikes

Do you know why you're supposed to

take 10,000 steps a day or have you heard that before?

I've heard it but I don't know why.

Maybe it originates from the past because

I know back in the day they used to walk like six miles a day

I'll link this article below but apparently

the 10,000 steps myth came about in the 1960s

when a Japanese company started selling pedometers

which is a very good way of getting people to buy pedometers

setting an arbitrary number that's high and telling them that

they need to step that much every day

but studies later confirmed that people

who take 10,000 steps a day have lower

blood pressure, they have more stable

glucose levels and better moods – which I'm all about

You know, I get quite moody and I am looking

forward to seeing if that is going to add a noticeable lift to my day

Today marks Day 1 of 30

I am currently at 8,900 which is pretty good

I walked to work today which was

nice I've been telling myself to do this forever

So, it is almost nine o'clock and I just

brushed my teeth I have already put on pajamas

I'm like fully ready to wind down

and start getting ready for bed

and realize I only have nine thousand steps so...

gonna put pants on again

and go out there for another thousand

Confidently, three days

I walked 10,000 steps three times

I have successfully completed seven for seven walking 10,000 steps

I've actually been in a really great mood the last few days

Okay, so we are in Week 3 and

I am still struggling!

I'm really behind

I think I'm the one who's got the lowest score

I feel like the step nazi

This one over here has like 12,000 or 13,000

I've taken up a new hobby

I now jump rope every morning for about five minutes

This week to get my steps in

I actually have just been like having a dance party at home

By yourself?

By myself! Really cool...

You know, I tried this morning

to step in my shower while I was showering

Getting your steps in is not cool

it's like walking around your block

by yourself without a dog

or pacing around your friends

or like dancing in your living room by yourself

My biggest challenge is that

I don't find enough time during my day

I think just the nature of working a desk job it is

challenging by itself and also having

travelled for work recently

I don't know... I don't really know what the

benefits I'm feeling are

I don't know that I feel more fit

but I feel more mentally in a good place

I think I'm still snacking a lot more

Once I start walking I'm just feeling great

I made almost 20,000 steps

probably five days a week

My average for the month was 11,000 a day

Well I kind of stepped up 3,000 steps a day

That's probably twice as much as it was!

I think I gained weight on this challenge

and that kind of upset me and was probably

part of the reason I just blew it on the last day

I still lost a pound

get snacks or because I traded my

workouts for long walks

instead I gained half a pound okay but I

did lose on my waist and I lost body fat

so maybe I gained muscle

I think my body fat was about the same

and I did lose an inch

What advice would you give to someone who wanted to attempt 10,00 steps a day?

I think if you have the time to do it

it'll be much easier

Get comfortable shoes

and be prepared to give up some social time

Also be mindful of your diet

because you will be snacking often

And get a good watch, something that can track your

steps accurately so you want to check it

every day and stay motivated

I think I was looking for more physical changes

throughout this challenge and that didn't happen

but I still really enjoyed it and I think I actually will

continue to try and be mindful about how

many steps I'm getting a day and try

hit closer to 10,000

I think it's a really interesting challenge to be more

mindful of how much you walk and also

what you put your time towards

A Brand New Type of Brain Cell | SciShow News - Duration: 3:52.

[ INTRO ]

You might think that scientists have the human body pretty well figured out.

They've only been studying it for, I don't know, centuries.

But a study published this week in the journal Nature Neuroscience documents a piece of ourselves

that we didn't know existed until now:

a brand-new type of brain cell.

This new neuron isn't found in mice

and the researchers think it may be unique to primates, or even the human species—

and that means it could help us understand what makes us who we are.

Two research groups—one from Hungary, and one from the US—

actually discovered this new neuron type at about the same time using very different techniques.

When they realized this, they teamed up and worked together to publish their results.

Both groups were studying neurons in a part of the brain called the cortex, the brain's

outermost layer,

which is crucial to human consciousness.

Over at the University of Szeged in Hungary, the researchers were taking the more traditional

route

of examining the shape of the neurons in living tissue

and seeing how they respond to electrical pulses.

Different types of neurons look different and respond to currents in different ways.

It's the kind of work that's been done for decades, but usually on animal brains

—because, well, there just isn't a whole lot of access to live human brain tissue.

But the team partnered with doctors to get human samples from patients undergoing brain

surgeries

—which is how they found what they've dubbed the rosehip neuron.

It has a dense bundle of axons—

the nerve fibers that conduct electrical impulses—

clustered around the cell's center.

Hence 'rosehip', because the shape reminded them of a rose after its petals are shed.

Meanwhile, researchers with the Allen Institute for Brain Science in Seattle

were taking a newer approach to examining neurons, called transcriptomics.

That's the study of the genes expressed by cells,

which can tell us a lot about what makes those cells unique.

Using tissue samples from two donated brains,

they performed single-nucleus RNA sequencing,

a type of genetic analysis that let them identify the genes expressed by individual cells.

The technique has only been possible for the past five years or so.

And they found a pattern of gene expression different from all other neurons studied before.

After comparing notes,

the two teams realized the weirdly shaped neurons were the ones with this unique gene

expression pattern.

And together, they were able to hammer out a few more details about them.

Rosehip neurons are part of a larger category of brain cells called inhibitory neurons,

which regulate the activity of other neurons as they transmit information in the brain.

They're sort of like the brain's traffic cops,

controlling the flow of information from one place to another so that everything runs smoothly.

It's not clear exactly what these rosehip neurons control, but their shape may provide

a clue.

They form connections with another type of brain cell called pyramidal neurons.

These are part of the larger category of excitatory neurons,

which basically do the opposite of inhibitory ones: they send signals that make other neurons

more likely to fire.

But rosehip neurons only attach to a very specific part of pyramidal neurons,

which could mean that they regulate information flow in a very specific way.

We don't yet know exactly what they regulate, or how.

But it might be something not found in other animals.

When the team compared their neuron to the varieties of neurons found in mouse brains,

they couldn't find anything similar.

It's hard to say for sure that rosehip neurons are only found in humans or other primates,

because it's not like scientists have checked the brains of every single other animal.

But they definitely don't seem to exist in rodents, at least.

And that means they might play a role in brain processes we don't see in other animals.

If nothing else, rosehip neurons are the latest evidence that as useful as lab mice can be,

they aren't perfect models,

especially when it comes to studying psychiatric and neurological diseases.

Next, the researchers want to look for rosehip neurons in other parts of the brain,

which might give them more insight into what the neurons actually do.

They also want to examine brain tissue samples from people with psychiatric disorders

to see if their rosehip neurons differ in any way from the ones in healthy brains.

Now that they've found this new type of neuron,

they want to learn everything about it—especially if it's part of what makes us human.

The modern-day hieroglyphs that help us express our intention behind

what we write.

That's at least the idea: sometimes, an emoji may appear in a completely different

fashion that you expect depending on the

platform that the receiver of the message is on.

Rolling your eyes in contempt is a feeling we all sometimes have, unless

you're using a Samsung device that is a few versions behind.

Even though it may cause serious misunderstandings, these glaring variations are already a step

ahead of what once was the case: each company developing their own set

of emojis.

This made the person reading from the other side see jumbled

black letters or boxes without any meaning.

Fortunately, there is a movement to standardize emojis between social networks and operating systems,

which means that someone has the power to decide the pictograms that appear in our

smartphone devices.

The question is who and how: are we, the commoners, allowed to take part in this

corporative process?

To find out about this, let's go on a journey to propose our own emoji to the international committee

responsible for this.

Our first step will be to learn how to count like a computer.

What is a bit?

A bit is an information unit that stores only two states: 1 or 0; true

or false.

Super simple, yet very powerful: this video could be described in these digits alone

if one had enough patience to do this manually.

What is a byte?

One byte is made of 8 bits in series.

We have already seen that each bit can store two different states, so in total we can describe

2 x 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 unique combinations.

With these 256 possibilities you can already do a lot of things!

How to count in binary Mathematically speaking, we are working

with base 2.

On a daily basis, we use base 10: we have 10 digits at our disposal to describe quantities.

In machine language, so many options end up being less practical: it's

easier for an engineer to make a circuit notice or not the presence of electric current

than trying to differentiate the impulses in a more gradual scale.

But the principle is the same and still easy to grasp, so let's go back to kindergarten

to learn how to count again!

We start with 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9.

The problem is that we do not have any more digits to continue counting, so we take the 1

and put 0 behind it.

Now we can continue: 10, 11, 12 ... nice.

But in binary our numbers are used up faster: we start with 0, count up to 1

and then we can already no longer continue.

The solution is the same as in 9 to 10 or 99 to 100: put a 1 in front and continue

from there.

That is: after 1 in binary comes 10, then 11 and so on - 4 would be 100.

Try counting up to 10 in binary!

The solution will flash briefly on the screen, just pause it to compare.

How to write with numbers.

Now that we can count, we are able to associate each number with a certain letter.

That's what ASCII does, an American standard in which computers normally reserve

a single byte to encode each character.

The letter A, for example, is represented by 65, or 01000001 in binary.

A good part of the table entries are instructions invisible to us, and serve among others

to handle external accessories such as printers.

Therefore, it quickly becomes clear that many more letters are needed to support

different languages.

That is where Unicode comes in, which allows the manipulation and representation of more than

one million symbols using one to four bytes, while still being backwards compatible with

ASCII.

Who develops and promotes the standard is a non-profit organization called

Unicode Consortium, which currently deals with more than 136 thousand symbols.

Among these, there are over 2600 emojis. It's with this consortium that we need to

get in touch with to create our own.

The process Their website is very enlightening: the first

step is to suggest a name and an image that can not have any copyright protections.

I wanted to propose a Rubik's cube emoji, but from what I've heard they have already discarded this idea

several times because it is associated with a brand and is not expected to be used that much.

I chose to carry out this process with a tumbleweed present in programs

such as Skype, which fits perfectly in those strange moments when no one

replies to your messages.

To get an image, I paid a designer friend of mine a 10 Euro Amazon voucher so he can spend

it on whatever he wants.

With this, we have an icon whose rights are ours, and therefore valid to suggest

to the committee.

The other selection criteria are expectation of use, if the emoji has several meanings,

if it can be used in sequences and if the emoji represents something new and different.

It should be easily recognizable and distinct when compared to existing ones, satisfying

a need in the vocabulary of current emojis.

But there are factors that reduce the chances of your proposal being accepted as well.

Too specific suggestions, such as a new sushi variations, for example, are denied.

Your idea should not be able to be expressed with an existing emoji sequence, so

a crying baby emoji does not exist because it can already be illustrated in this way.

Brands, specific buildings, people and deities can not become emoji.

Oh, and fads are not accepted, because once the decisions are made

they are there to stay.

All these points in favor of the tumbleweed emoji were compiled into a single document

that was sent to them, and that can be found in the description.

To show that its symbolism is transient, for instance, I have gathered 36 films since 1925 where

tumbleweeds give a scene more meaning.

And to have popular support, I included the opinion of you gurus out there to show that there is demand

for it.

If our tumbleweed passes the initial phase, large companies that finance this initiative

will have a vote for or against its inclusion: but as of now, all we can do is cheer for it!

Criticism According to the official rules, emojis should not

have political intentions behind them.

However, we have seen this happen more and more: technology giants have nerfed

references to anything that might refer violence, which in my opinion does not

encourage debate and only creates controversy where there simply is none to be found.

Is it really necessary to take the egg out of the salad emoji to please vegans?

The work Unicode does is very important to keep the writing of extinct languages

or the ones on the verge of extinction, but believing that a non-profit organization of such scale

can not be influenced by external powers is difficult.

It's a billion dollar market - Sony alone has made 800 million Brazilian Reais in Box Office

with the Emoji Movie last year.

If our tumbleweed is not present on mobile phones soon, there's

no reason to be sad.

You can always adopt an emoji or one of the 136 thousand characters starting at 100 dollars.

The Former Cosby Show Star Who Now Works At Trader Joe's - Duration: 3:28.

One of the former stars of The Cosby Show has been spotted working at a grocery store

in New Jersey.

Radar Online reports that Geoffrey Owens, who once played the character Elvin Tibideaux

on the NBC comedy, was seen working the cash register at a Trader Joe's in Clifton, New

Jersey.

According to the publication, Owens, whom they called a "starving artist," probably

makes about $11 an hour.

So, just how did Radar recognize the 57-year-old actor?

Well, for starters, Owens was wearing a name tag.

And shoppers often reportedly identify him from his time on the once-beloved sitcom.

According to Owens' mother Ethel, with whom he lives in a two-floor home in Montclair,

N.J., "They come up and say they remember him from their childhoods."

Owens starred on The Cosby Show from 1985 to 1992, portraying the husband of Sabrina

Le Beauf's Sondra Huxtable.

After the series ended, he continued to work in Hollywood, but he was never able to snag

a gig quite as lucrative as his role as Elvin.

"Hey guys, I'm Donovan McNabb."

"That was not Donovan McNabb!"

"Yes it was."

"That was a McDonald's plug!"

"Wasn't that the guy from The Cosby Show?"

Just because he hasn't had a regular role in a while doesn't mean that Owens hasn't

been working.

Owens appeared in the NBC comedy Built to Last for eight episodes in 1997 and in the

HBO dramedy Divorce as the character Gerald for three episodes in 2016.

He's also made small appearances in high-profile projects like It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia,

Boston Legal, and Medium.

Radar spoke to one woman shopping in the store who observed that Owens looked "unhappy",

though she noted that he was polite during their interaction.

The woman also said she was shocked to discover that Owens was working at the grocery store

chain, when he has so much talent as an actor.

According to her observations,

"I would have thought after The Cosby Show he would maybe be doing something different."

Understandably, Owens didn't sound too thrilled that Radar had been looking into his current

whereabouts, as the gossip rag reported that he'd hung up on them when they called to talk

about his Trader Joe's job.

However, he did phone the outlet the next day to inform them of his latest acting gigs,

sharing that he's been teaching a Shakespearean workshop in New York City.

Money might be tighter than ever before for Owens, as he likely doesn't receive much money

from The Cosby Show anymore.

As Page Six reported in April 2018, re-runs of the series were pulled from airing on Bounce

TV after the show's star, comedian Bill Cosby, was found guilty of aggravated indecent assault

against former Temple University employee Andrea Constand - one of dozens of other accusations

of sexual assault that have been brought against the once-beloved comedian in recent years.

For the most part, the accusations have knocked the series out of syndication, meaning a once-reliable

source of residual income for the series' stars has now been significantly cut down.

So considering his acting credentials, why might Owens be working at the grocery chain?

It's possible that he just needs a flexible job to earn some money on the side while he's

in between acting gigs.

As implied by his biography on the website for the off-Broadway theater company Primary

Stages, Owens has largely focused on taking to the stage since his Cosby days, performing

in plays like Romeo and Juliet and David Mamet's Race.

Owens has also tried his hand at directing, working on plays like King Lear, Much Ado

About Nothing, and The Taming of the Shrew.

Beyond his acting roles, he's also held down teaching jobs, molding the minds everywhere

from Yale and Columbia to Bergen County Community College and Montclair High School.

No matter what the former Cosby Show actor has been doing to make ends meet, it's great

to see that he's remaining active on the stage and screen, and we look forward to seeing

what projects he takes on next!
