We have two types of camels..

with one hump or with two humps!

Those having one hump are for the hard desert.. as here at our region..

But, camels having two humps, are for the regions that are very cold..

So, in general, Camels are for tough regions..

The natural construction of the body of the camel as an animal..

Is different from other animals!

the harelip that they have.. helps them to eat the plants including thorny plants..

hard plants..

They do not only survive the hot weather and the the rarity of food..

But also, Subhan Allah.. / Dr.. Abdul Aziz Al-Ateeqi. Vice President of the Dairy Producers Association.

it is exceptionally resistant to diseases.

So, there are continually going researches, to study the immune system of camels!

And camels may transmit infections, but, without getting diseases from them..

So, in comparison with other animal..

It is an animal that is highly resistant.

Sheep and cows do not have incisors..

but camels have!

Why? Because they need to chew the hard plants..

the animal's foot, [khuf]..

it is suitable for walking on sand.. and giving them power to stand the hardship.

Have you seen, how these camels are able to survive in this tough desert climate?!

because, Allah, Almighty, has put in them all what they need!

They have extra sweat glands.. and the skin is covered with special thick hair that can keep the sweat trapped in..

Ok.

this is a way of cooling the body..

Therefore, they can survive a very high temperature like that is in our region, that may reach up to 50° C in summer!

All of these features made this animal as the animal of our region, with excellent suitability.

The best people to tell us about camels, are the owners of camels and the shepherds..

I want to know the story..

The story began as charity.. / Fayez Ghannam Al-Jamhoor. Owner of camels

So we bought, 2.. 3.. 4.. to get milk..

Then, everything went fine.. and friends came in..

it was a nice gathering.. with fine milk drinks..

After some time, we increased the number of the camels..

and gradually we became interested..

then I began to be creative..

and we went to far places to pick the better and the best..

Till our hearts were hooked to it..

Some people were having nothing to do with camels..

Camels are able to travel about 100 miles in the desert, without water

This animal has great power of tolerance..

For human.. if I lost 5% of my body water.

it's no use!

But, when we come to camels..

also cows.. at 15%.. as the upper limit..

camel reach up to 30%..

it doesn't even pant!

it has no problem!

Allah, Almighty, when He compared His creations in Heaven..

and on earth and mountains..

Power, was one of the criteria of comparison.. Yes!

strength.. Yes!!

Subhan Allah, at summer, the camel..

can stand for 10 days to 15 days without having water..

totally?! Yes..

and it doesn't bother.. won't be panic..

It needs it, but it is patient!

and also it can stay without eating for 4 to 5 days.. it can bear that..

and it can feed on plants, and they are not enough for it to feel full, but it can stand that for months..

It has no problem at all, Allah gave it the strength..

and the ability for acclimatization..

with all kinds of rough environments!

I think, this ability to stand not having water.. is varied from spring to summer and so on..

During winter and spring, the camel can wait for 2 months..

without drinking water.. Subhan Allah..

Subhan Allah, it gets water that is in the grass it eats!

Arab camels store up to 36 Kilo grams of fat in its hump

The water is stored in the body of camels as fat..

and this fat is stored in the hump at the back of the camel..

and when the water is not available and the camel needs water..

an oxidation process takes place for the stored fat

and the products of oxidation of fat are..

water and CO2.

Camels, at certain months of the year, they change their skin hair..

When?.. correct..

On month 5, May..

to 6th.. 7th.. 8th.. months

Ok.

During that period.. Allah, Almighty, makes them change..

they change their hair that is one year old, and they start to grow a new hair..

new hair..

Allahu Akbar.

and then at month 8, you come and see it with its new look!

Exactly, at month 8 it will be having a new wear..

What is so peculiar about camels?

why do they differ from others?

Let's consider its milk.. Ok..

The cow's milk is deficient in iron..

Camel's milk contains iron..

this is one point.. the iron content..

and also it contains high quantities of vitamin C, compared to other types of animal milk

Why?!

It is very rare to find vegetables and fruits in the desert environment..

So, this is a mean of compensation..

from camel's milk!

A miracle from Allah

'If it wasn't because of Allah, it wouldn't have occurred..'

In the Noble Qur'an we have about 13 names for the camel..

From these names we have; Al-Jamal.. Al-Naqah.. Al-Bodn.. Al-Ea'er

And this is a clear invitation from Allah, Almighty, for us to think..

and to contemplate more.. on this creature!

Subhan Allah Abu Ghannam says that camels have names!!

So, you may call them by their names.. and they know their names!

camels do not have names, but their owners give them names..

You may find.. it is important..

Now, for you, all the camels look the same!

yes, for me they look alike

For me, each one of them is totally different from the other..

completely different!

like people..

so you've given them names!

Most of the camels, I've named them..

Why?

First of all..

to be able to communicate with the shepherds, taking care of them..

for example, if one of them is sick, may Allah forbid, he will say to you; [so and so] is ill.

or [so and so] has delivered.

If any change happened in the composition of the food of the cow.. or the meal was given late.. not on time..

we notice that the amount of milk produces has suddenly decreased in amount..

But, researches proved.. and camel owners know that..

milk production of camels is not influenced..

and will not markedly decrease..

when they didn't have the food they need or enough water.

It comes to you for reasons..

to favor it with a piece of bread..

to give it some sugar..

to give it certain food..

It knows, that when you call its name.. then you have something for her!

Nayfeh.. Nayfeh..

This is one of the dear camels that we have..

Subhan Allah, it shows intimacy..

But, you must bring something.. so as not to cheat it..

and to keep the trust with you.

So, when it comes and you have nothing for her.. then it will not like it.. and won't come to you!

See.. It recognizes you by your body odor..

It learns.. smells

Now, its head is down because it is glad.

it knows its owner, Subhan Allah..

The camel meat itself.. is lean..

because all the fat is in the hump.

So, the meat has less fat..

light.. for blood vessels..

gives more energy..

You know the active healthy person.. he wants to be moving and so..

and the fatty meat will make him feel heavy.. but the meat of camels doesn't cause that..

Their creation is great..

It is kind and adorable..

has domesticity..

has love.. It know its owner!

Yes it does!

and it shows him compassion..

It knows his voice..

even more.. some camel owners..

they are more special for some camels..

and some camels love them more.

The camel knows when you are scared..

knows that you are ill!

Knows.. really, knows?! yes, and understands..

for real..

It knows that you are afraid.. sick..

And, Subhan Allah, the camels can tell if they are owned for showing or because you like having them..

Allahu Akbar..

Did you find that by your own experience..? Yes, exactly.

When the Qur'an was revealed upon the Arabs at the peninsula..

Camels were the most close animals to them..

that's why Allah, Almighty, instructed them to look at the camels!

to look and to ask yourself; Who has subdued them for you?

Who has domesticated them for you?

"Do they not see that We have created for them from what Our hands have made, grazing livestock, and [then] they are their owners?"

"And We have tamed them for them,"

"so some of them they ride, and some of them they eat."

"And for them therein are [other] benefits and drinks, so will they not be grateful?"

Which is the most precious among these..

To tell you the truth, they are precious.. all of them..

One is called; Romanah.. it is precious..

and another one that is called; Mehera.. it is precious..

and also Al-Nayfeh is precious..

And even our family.. sometimes they feel jealous from them..

because you come here.. often..

No, because we fondle them.. call them with their names.. Nayfeh.. we spoil them..

and Romannah..

we don't pamper our wives like this.

we call her; Um-[so an so] after her son!

Dear Abu Sauid, do camels have strains.. origin..?

Of course, they do have.. they extend to 300.. 400.. 500 years ago..

For example..

The offspring of Abdan!

they are known by this name.. for 300 years.. or even more..

The Mutran camels that we have are known as the female offspring of camel Abdan..

Their father is Abdan.. and usually the offspring of Abdan are yellow..

We have strain of Romanat, female camels

and strain; Tayahat. female camels..

they are owned by Sheikh Salim Al-Ali..

the descents are for more than 700 years

This male camel..

is from the strain; Tayahat.

we bought it from Sheikh Salim Al-Ali

his father is from the camels of Sheikh Salim Al-Ali

It is from Tayahat!

People are all over the world..

And for sure, each one of them has his share!

and the share of the Bedouin in the desert is..

is this camel..

from old times..

Allah, provides for people, even if they were at the other side of the world!

At the old days, man used to depend on them.. he was helpless..

Nowadays, they depend on us..

you bring them forage and the goodies..

before, you were counting on them.. you drink from their milk..

You eat meat.. and travel on them

Now, thing are reversed.. we are to..

serve them!

Camels..

can survive for two weeks without water..

but, we can't live for two days without water..

and if camels found water.. any water..

even if it was very salty..

they still can drink it..

because Allah, Almighty has given them kidneys..

that can purify that water..

Is it possible after all this talk.. a person would come to talk about.. Chance!!

Like smth crazy except the eyebrows shawing lol

Of course, there are many stories when my hair was almost burnt on the set and I was so sad that I wanted to cry

But I've already grown out of it

But I can't remember anything really scary

I'm lucky

It happens sometimes when hairstylists start doing your hair and almost punching your head or smth. And you think like: come on, kill me already

But no one has ever hurt me, no, nothing like that has ever happened

In Thailand there was always such a terrible make-up

Really terrible

They apply a really heavy yellow - ish powner on your face

They use the same cushion they've used like on 30 people and you're almost going to throw up already

If make-up artist doesn't like you he can punch you like this

Yes,they're doing like this but it really hurts

I have such a story: on my first day in Thailand the MUA has kicked me out of the studio

So, here's the story

I think I was quite silly that time too

I think i was 18 that time... uh, I don't even remember how old I was

There was a problem: that time I often used my phone, I was in it all the time

So, I used my phone when make-up artists were doing my make-up

For example, if they were applyng a face cream or base, I was using my phone

But when it came to eye make-up, I've put my phone away and looked where they've asked me to

And that MUA haven't even started doing my make-up. I was in my phone

And he'd just sat like this

I was like: are you going to do my make-up?

And he was like: If you wanna play your phone, go play it, I won't do your make-up

I was like, OK...

I've put my phone away

And then he've started swearing on me in Thai language.

And I said

You can ask me about my phone but don't need to be a bitch about it

Of course, I've shouldn't have said the "b**ch" word,but anyway...

He was really like that

And he'd just blown up, stood up, started pointing on me

Acreaming on me both in Thai and English languages

So I've wrote to the agency while he still continued sceaming on me

I was thinking OMG

And the most amazing thing is that I didn't cry at that moment. I just went outside and stand there thinking about my life

And before that he'd just kicked me out of the studio saying : I won't do your make-up

What the hell?!

And you know he's not some kind of famous star

So he had to do my make-up anyway

So he was almost kicking me while doing make-up

Whe he finished doing my make-up, he was like : Done! And turned away from me

I was like: Who cares, really

And after that case my impression about Thai people isn't so good

Yes, the Country of Smiles lol

And I used to ask MUAs in Thailand: can you please clean up the brushes?

- No!

And it's really so disgusting

So, here's the tip for the girls who always suffer from MUAs bad behavior in Thailand: Do the make-up by yorself before the castings

I guess the make-up base is a must have

No-no-no, you can do everything by yourself. They always do the same make-up there

Just a typical pretty face: cheeks, eyelashes etc

And you can say like: Oh, I've just had a casting and they've already done my make-up

And they'e so lazy there

So they're like: OK, just go we won't do anything else

And I was like: Thank God, no one has touched me today, I'm so happy

That's really a huge discover for me and great tip btw

Have you ever been booked for a crazy or unusual jobs?

Oh, I had many jobs like that in Taiwan

I was 16 years old and the job was for a lingerie brand

We call it "Traditional Chinese clients" in Taiwan

I think one of the worst jobs I've ever had was

when I was in China

I had a work in Hangzhou. Yes, that type of job when you have to go from Shanghai to Hangzhou, it often happens

It was +40 C and we were shooting fur coats

I was totally sweating even when I only had an underwear under that coats, it was so hot

really really hot

It was kinda "lookbook"

There were 50 looks and it's already too much for a lookbook

Usually there are 20 or maximum 25 looks in normal lookbooks

And on that job there were really 50-60 looks

After that I was thinking that we'll go to the studio and will quickly shoot the catalog part and it will be finally done

So, here we come to the studio after 7 hours of work

And there are 7 hangers full of clothing there. 7!

I stand there and think: OMG

I only had one hamburger from McDonalds for lunch

They have given it to me without any water or cola

I was thinking: OMG what's happening to my life?!

And that guy who was a producer there

He has been turning on the same one song of Michael Jackson for 6 hours long

it was the first time when I couldn't smile on the shoot. My face was like this

it was the one and only time in my life when they were telling me to smile all i could do was this lol

So, I was sooo happy when that work was finally done!

And one more interesting thing. We were done around 11 in the evening

And there weren't any trains to Shanghai anymore

OMG, Chinese trains lol

I didn't have any money, I didn't even have my toothpaste with me that day

And when the girl in the model apt gave me the instant noodles

I was like: OMG, you gave me the noodles, thank you so much!

So I was happy with those noodles lol

Yes, Chinese railway station is another story. It's so terrible with train delais and etc

wash the rice until the water become clear

then soak the rice for 1 hour

add to the blender

150 ml water + 1 tsp cooking oil

1000 ml chicken soup, 1 tsp salt

add the rice mixture

simmer for 15 mins

add 50 ml hot water

Simmer for another 15 mins. Add 50 ml hot water every 5 mins

soy sauce

white pepper powder

So I took them.

We start very badly because I don't even know how to open it.

and I said that it was by Essence but it's by Maybelline and it costs around 15 euros

but, guys, it's Amazing, really beautiful. And we put it in the lower lashes

and a little bit in the superiors one.

That's how false lashes look like, I feel like a fawn.

5 Amazing Futuristic Aircraft's

#5: The Lilium Jet – The world's first all-electric VTOL jet

Lilium has successfully tested its all-electric vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) jet for

the first time.

The Lilium has the benefits of a helicopter with it's vertical takeoff and landing capability,

but once airborne, it can still achieve 186mph with a range of 186 miles per charge.

And it has great urban transit potential.

The commute from Manhattan to JFK airport: a trip that's usually just less than an

hour by car would take about 5 minutes using the Lilium Jet.

Lilium recently announced a new 5-seater design, which it envisions will be used for on-demand

flying taxi and ride-sharing services in the future.

#4 Bell's FCX-001

The FCX-001 rotorcraft concept features an air-frame crafted from sustainable materials,

a hybrid power system, an artificial intelligence co-pilot, and morphing rotor blades that change

to suit different flight conditions.

At the rear, the tail boom has an embedded anti-torque system to improve safety, reduce

noise, and increase performance.

The copter's hybrid propulsion system sees advanced thermal engine cores handling main

propulsion and feeding into the electric motors that power the anti-torque system for better

control and simplifying maintenance.

Providing the lifting power are morphing rotor blades that can change shape for better performance

under different flight conditions.

Inside, there's a single pilot seat with augmented reality technology and an artificial intelligence

computer system instead of a co-pilot or engineer.

This allows the traditional Multi Function Display to be replaced and enables the aircraft

to be optionally piloted, with the pilot acting more as an overseer.

Bell says this is a logical stepping stone on the path to fully autonomous unpiloted

VTOL aircraft.

#3 The Locklead martin hybrid airship

Lockheed Martin's Hybrid Airship combines the upsides of the airship with the ability

of a hovercraft.

The 300-foot-long, three-chamber, helium-filled airship will act like a hovercraft while maneuvering

on the ground, without the need of a proper runway or even fully smoothed surfaces.

Once airborne, it will haul 20 tons of cargo—vehicles, mining equipment, military gear, disaster-relief

supplies—at speeds up to 70 mph, staying aloft a week at a time.

It promises to be more efficient, in terms of both fuel use and operating cost, than

any land-, sea-, or air-based cargo system, allowing operators to reach remote areas without

the infrastructure large planes and ships demand.

It's called a Hybrid Airship because it uses both buoyancy and aerodynamics to generate

lift.

The airship itself is shaped like a wing, a "lifting body."

That supplies 20 percent of the lift, with helium doing

the rest.

Boyd expects the first production version of the Hybrid Airship to be ready by 2019,

in a 20-ton configuration, with models carrying up to 50 tons to follow.

There's even room for 19 passengers.

They can fly up to 1,600 miles without refueling.

#2 Bell's V-280 Valor

Bell Helicopters emerging V-280 Valor aims to engineer an advanced tiltrotor aircraft

able to hit speeds of 280 knots, hover and maneuver like a next-generation helicopter

-- all while reducing the radar signature of the aircraft.

While, many of the specifics regarding stealth technology are not available, there are a

few broad parameters followed closely by developers.

They include reducing the heat signature coming from engines or exhaust along with efforts

to shape the exterior of the aircraft to be less detectable to "pings" or return signals

to enemy radar.

Radar sends electromagnetic signals, pulses or "pings" traveling at the speed of light

– bounces them off of an object – and analyzes the return signal to determine the

shape, size and speed of an enemy target.

For this reason, electronic "jamming" is another tactic used to thwart or throw

off enemy radar systems.

Recognizing the importance of lowering the helicopters heat signature, Bell is now investigating

cutting-edge engine technologies specifically designed to reduce the heat they emit.

The helicopter of the future is going electric, but it's waiting on car makers to design the

battery.

Project Zero will eliminate the use of fuel.

This would open the possibility of using the aircraft in low-to-no oxygen environments,

which could range anywhere from getting close to active volcano's to use on Mars.

Internal combustion engines require oxygen to run, but an electric motor doesn't.

Eventually, they hope the aircraft can be self-charging, using the rotors as windmills.

Its current range is around 10 minutes of flight, But they hope that within a decade,

automakers would have advanced the development of electric batteries to the point that Project

Zero will travel for around 100 minutes.

My friend said, "Bojung gum" which is a deposit(in English) is 5Million Won($4,500)(14,500 BRL)

And monthly rent is 400,000Won($355)(1,150 BRL)

It's kind of cheap

It's like the average

Actually it's a little cheaper than the average (I think the average is about 10million won/500,000won(Deposit/monthly rent)

What Would Happen If You Never Saw The Sun? - Duration: 3:32.

Hey there and welcome to Life Noggin.

We've all had those days where we curl up in our best blanket and never step outside

to greet the sun.

It's fun to have lazy vampire days like this, but what would happen if you never got

any sunlight at all?

Well, while it looks like getting sunlight is not absolutely necessary to live, having

the sun's rays hug your skin is pretty important to staying healthy.

One of the biggest benefits of getting sunlight is how it helps you get vitamin D. While some

other essential vitamins must be obtained through food, vitamin D is able to be synthesized

in your skin by a photosynthetic reaction that can be caused by exposure to the sun's

radiation.

Vitamin D is essential for supporting your bone integrity and has a protective role against

chronic morbidities such as diabetes and cardiovascular diseases.

Low vitamin D levels have long been linked to poor bone health, and more recent findings

seem to correlate inadequate amounts of this precious vitamin to problems ranging from

multiple sclerosis to prostate cancer.

If you never were exposed to any sunlight, you would almost definitely be lacking in

this important nutrient unless you were taking vitamin D supplements.

It's almost impossible to get the amount of vitamin D you need from food alone, as

only a few foods naturally contain it and most of those that do only have it in small

amounts.

Even so, some argue that vitamin D supplementation alone is not as good as vitamin D your body

synthesizes in response to sunlight.

This one guy over in Forks, Washington even swears that the sun's rays make his skin

sparkle.

Getting sunlight also seems to have other pretty significant benefits.

Sunlight and spending time outdoors is thought to help improve your mood.

Recent research further suggests that light hitting your skin, not just your eyes, can

help to reverse seasonal affective disorder.

Other studies have found that sunlight alters the levels of nitric oxide in your blood and

skin.

This can lead to lowered blood pressure and a reduced risk of heart disease.

Putting this all together makes a pretty significant case for how your life would be far less awesome

if you never got any sunlight.

I might think twice before accepting that new offer from Vault Tec.

Oh wait, it includes Power Armor?

I might have to reconsider.

Now, while exposure to the hot ball of glowing gases in the sky definitely has its benefits,

too much sun may also be a bad thing.

Getting too much sun can cause those pesky sunburns and also suppress your skin's immune

system.

Sunlight might also be capable of damaging skin cell membranes and put you at a greater

risk for certain skin cancers.

The Center for Disease Control and Prevention warns that the sun's ultraviolet rays can

damage your skin in as little as 15 minutes and recommends certain strategies to protect

yourself such as hats with brims all the way around and using sunscreen.

All in all, it seems that getting sunlight is mostly beneficial to you.

Provided you don't stay out for too long, you should probably avoid a life that avoids

the sun.

the temperature even peaked at 42 degrees celsius at noon

in the first day of the heat-wave.

However, this week, with the cold front from the Northern part now moving South,

the temperature for the whole country is expected to be 4 dregrees celsius lower than last week.

To go into more detail,

the average temperature in Hanoi will be 32 degrees celsius

and the temperatue during daytime may reach highs of 36 degrees celsius.

It will be cloudy and there is a chance of thunderstorms during the day.

As usual,

the North central coast will experience the highest temperatures in the country

with the temperature raging from 27 to 39 degrees celsius.

The local people should be so careful

because there will be hailstorms in the middle of the week.

Over the weekend,

it's expected to be cooler and windy

with gentle sunlight.

On the South central coast,

the temperature will hover around 34 degrees celsius.

Summer showers can happen at anytime during the day,

so you should bring an umbrella or a raincoat with you just in case

Moving to the South, the weather is expected to be really mild

with bright skies and with the highs of around 32 degrees celsius.

Summer showers will happen every evening

and it will cool things off a bit.

So it's an ideal destination for anyone who wants to get away from the extreme heat of North.

LGR - The Retrotube: All-In-One Raspberry Pi Setup - Duration: 5:17.

Now this is the kinda thing

I really love covering on LGR every so often!

This is the Retrotube,

a made-to-order all-in-one Raspberry Pi case

by Dan Michel, who's putting these together himself

and selling them one by one online.

And man, I love the look of this thing.

As this nifty logo implies,

it's styled after mid-20th century tube televisions.

Although instead of a CRT,

it uses a more modern eight-inch LCD panel.

And yes, it is a 4:3 aspect ratio display,

which makes ideal for emulating retro game systems

and playing old TV shows and movies alike.

Above the volume and power knobs

are two 3-watt, 1 1/2-inch speakers for stereo sound

and a convenient headphone jack around the side.

And around back is a spot to plug in the 5-volt power supply

alongside the openings to access both the LCD panel buttons

and the ports of the Raspberry Pi.

This particular review unit was sent to me by Dan

with the Raspberry Pi 3 pre-installed,

which adds $40 on top of the $275 base price he's asking.

I really like the way he's put this all together,

with the separate audio amp

going through the 3.5 millimeter audio instead of just HDMI,

as well as a convenient micro SD-to-SD card extender.

It also has these cute little removable legs on the bottom

which I enjoy probably more than I should.

About the only thing I'd change aesthetically, maybe,

is adding a faux rabbit ear antenna setup on top

and maybe another finish on the wooden case

besides the classic Shellac look this one has.

I'm quite fond a nice walnut woodgrain, personally.

And I also wish the opening for the LCD

was just the tiniest bit larger near the corners,

since the first character of certain lines of text can get covered.

Still, seeing as this is made to order,

there's nothing stopping you from asking Dan to customize it a bit

or even leave it unfinished so you can do what you want with it.

And that's why I love projects like this.

Absolute niche customization.

Some setup is still going to be required, of course,

seeing as you'll have to provide your own SD card,

operating system, software and ROMs, and any other media.

But really, who doesn't have a few SD cards lying around these days,

and setting up the system with free stuff,

like Rasbian or a spinoff system like RetroPie,

is a piece of cake.

Or pie. You know what I mean.

I went with RetroPie for mine

since I mostly want to use it as an emulator/video player.

And I've used it in the past, too,

so I know how dead simple it is to set up.

In fact, you might remember that I reviewed another homebrew kit

kinda like this in the past,

the Porta-Pi desktop arcade.

But where that had integrated arcade cabinet controls,

the Retrotube really is just a fancy case

with a display and sound for the Pi to do with as you please.

I ended up using a PS4 controller

over Bluetooth to control most of the games

and a wireless Logitech keyboard and touchpad combo

for doing pretty much everything else.

Being that it's a Pi, though, your options are

almost unlimited at this point.

It works just fine for playing your favorite YouTube channels,

watching movies and TV shows through Kodi or your media player of choice

And it's strangely satisfying hearing everything

through those cloth-covered little speakers.

It's the JC-AV1,

and the alternative device came out around the same time

and that was from JVC.

- [LGR] It's also a compact emulation setup

as you'd expect for a Pi-based system.

And seriously, props to Dan for going with a nice 4:3 display here

because I've seen too many of these kind of things

that go with a widescreen 16:9 LCD instead.

It's been running at 800 x 600 throughout this video,

and it seems solid enough to me with no notable lag,

some nice, rich colors

and a picture that's more than sharp enough for my tastes,

considering its size.

I do kinda wish it was an eight-inch CRT still

because I mean, of course I do.

I mean, I'm the dude that paired an HDMI conversion box

with a black-and-white Goldstar TV so I could play Fallout.

But yeah, I know a CRT is

not exactly the best decision in any way, shape or form,

considering the technical and resource challenges involved.

Maybe someday that'll happen but even if not, whatever.

The Retrotube is just really neat,

and I can't help but enjoy its company.

It's small and lightweight enough to make it convenient

to set up just about anywhere and

I'm pleased with the overall fit and finish.

If you're interested, it's currently available for sale

on Etsy by Dan for the aforementioned $275.

He's also open to customization options

and lists some on the product page,

like a Pi 3 installation and a soft power switch,

and you can get it in kit form if you want to assemble it yourself.

Heck, you could even skip the Pi altogether

and plug in other HDMI devices directly, if it suits your desires.

To sum things up,

the Retotube is a lot of fun if you're a dork like me

who enjoys little retro-inspired computery things in his house.

Or you're looking for a unique gift idea.

Or you've had too much to drink and had little impulse control at the moment.

Whichever of these situations you may find yourself in,

Dan's Retrotube has the LGR stamp of approval.
