pull up a loop by drawing through the 3 bars.

You have now decreased 2 stitches.

I'll make a Tunisian Simple Stitch and then I'll show you 1 more time.

SOMETHING'S SEVERELY WRONG WITH HIM.. - Duration: 22:37.

what's up guys how you guys doing today so before we get into the vlog I wanted

to let you guys know that I'm doing a huge following spear in my Instagram I

do want every single day especially when I do post a new picture

I usually go through the likes on my recent picture and follow people through

there but if you guys follow me on Instagram right now at lance210

I'm going to scroll through the people that just follow me and pick a bunch of

you guys at random to go through and follow so when you guys follow me I'm

just going to go to my followers and I'm going to scroll through here and

everybody that follows me I'm going to randomly select you guys to be followed

so I'm going to go through and follow a bunch of guys right now we're currently

putting clothes away in here if you just test out right here the thing about CEO

is that he really hasn't been feeling well these past couple of days like

we've noticed his behaviors really off and she isn't eating like he'll go to

pick up his food until either like take a bite out of it and then just drop the

rest of the pieces that are in his mouth and just like won't finish eating or

he'll walk over to the food sniff it and just walk away like his food will come

out whenever his food used to come out he would run as fast as you can to go

over to his food and eat it and he would devour in like two seconds we've tried

changing up his food we haven't charred wet food yet but we did try a different

brand of food and he's just doing the same exact thing like not eating it so

there's definitely something wrong with him we have no idea exactly what is

wrong with him we're going to be headed over to the vet

pretty soon to figure it out and also get checked up on other stuff to make

sure that he doesn't have fleas and ticks and stuff like that on him I just

hope this little guys really okay I would hate to see something wrong with

him so bad we had to wake him up he's tired

I love what he does with his paws like he's darling if anybody just Jones would

comment down below saying if you did like it's like Johnny's contagious

between humans and dogs every time we pick him up he puts one pall over the

other one because I feel like he thinks that it's going to help him like a

stable and like it's almost like he's leaning on something but in reality it's

not doing anything but it's really cute I think it's not you look left

no not otherwise come on yeah

Oh No there you go apparently sealed like sticking his head

out the window now I never knew that he liked that until now my grips my hands

like that but he liked it it's like I like I think we tried it earlier like if

you do it like and he Dennis all right here we go in there he is so nervous

right now he's shaking like crazy and wondering

you're gonna be okay boy your time whatever see you accuse another dog he

starts barking and growling look how scared he is of other dogs oh god Adam

but we get scared just showing on your shoulder it doesn't want to get down we

deal with sometimes but it is falklands yeah he's about to get checked out

pretty soon the best anytime you're okay it's really scaring me that is not easy

you know you should get that done he looks just like weird bumping inside I

don't know that's wrong it just got a temperature take a tiny square we have a

garbage but if he is so nervous right now the wagon tells super nervous

walking up like me I'll dalish you we won't let me though you can put your

face down you little he doesn't own the can Oh hmm what is a little bit you know

like mom is good already now you have to get some shots we're

gonna try and switch up the spoon with wet food to be tried switching it up

already and it doesn't seem to be doing the

trick other than that everything kind of seems to be fine but we're not liking

percentage surely he doesn't get a shot though he's so nervous right now this

city probably I was kidding so when deal was getting his shot I had

to hold him and he was gripping really hard on me

he ended up scratching me look at that that was from him when like I was always

holding him and he's like digging in nails into it we're currently waiting on

medication for him and then after this we can go home all right you're all done

leo and then we get to go back there he goes now he's at this happy spot do you

see his whole back leg pop up yeah he went pee instantly he doesn't pee

anywhere else here good boy we could literally have them away from

this apartment for like four hours and he will not go to the bathroom pee or

poop outside the only place you will go and honesty pad in here or somewhere in

here he keeps putting in a thousand or spitting it back out he's not eating oh

so we got to get a try wet food all right so we got some packages in the

mail up see what came here what is this blessings from the holy land so it's

like all these things around a cross oh well that's really small the oil holy

soil holy water and holy incense awesome you guys are so thoughtful thank you

this is from Claudia said Guerrero thank you so much for you and then we have

another package here this 100% smells like intent of some sort yeah we got

some sage here thank you guys so much you guys are so thoughtful well burn

these later today Cody Rachel and Chris are currently out

somewhere I think they're in like Burbank area and me and Liz you're

pretty hungry right now so we're going to go try and get some food somewhere

and I don't know look at see huh I think Theo supposed to be messed up for like

the rest of the day those shots are supposed to make him really tired this

is the very first time we've left the home without putting him in his cage

first I'm really nervous to see when I go back he's supposed to sleep like a

lot of today so I'm hoping just goes back to sleep

but I feel like we're going to come home and it's probably to be like poop or pee

everywhere I have had my shoes in distress yeah he does like the Chuang

shoes now he's learned that recently too we tell him to stop but of course like

he'll do it again anyway and your wire on your light that's why it's park like

crazy the other day when I plugged it in after we eat we're going to be going to

mercedes-benz dealership and he was on phone with Cody who's like I think it's

probably about a 20 minute drive from me it's exactly a 20 minute drive no way

place really oh it didn't even show them 20 minutes you're already going I'm

still good with timing on everything yo for real no leg I can say anything like

you can you can say how old am I and I'll most likely guess the exact age or

I'll be a number higher or lower hey guys your arc is 20 minutes that's crazy

a lot just wraps up eating feeling a little bit better now that I've energy

we're actually going to be headed over to a Mercedes dealership right now

because I was possibly considering getting a new car and there is two cars

that I want to look at when I go there I wanted to trade in my Camaro because

I've had this baby for a couple years now I kind of want to trade it in and

get a different car instead what was that first car you had the gray one I

forget it was a Hyundai Sonata okay so he had that and when he wanted to

upgrade he was talking about grading for a little while and I like boom I love

Camaros I was just saying this before I even mentioned that he wanted to get a

new car and then about a week later I promise in my house with the Camaro a

Camaro I don't know that was this car I didn't really don't you any funny she

definitely had an influence on me when I when I got this car I remember him

saying like what kind of car should I get over the loss I was like mean I

liked America yeah I had no idea my dad wanted me to

get a I think it was a 370z at the time to pieces but I ended up doing with this

instead but yeah the main reason he wants

another car don't you really want like a four-door car cause it's in the but

getting in and out of this you're back there's a four-door car that

I want that they have the only thing is it I don't know if I'm going to love the

body style as much as the tube I don't know I don't know I got it I want to go

in there check it out and see what is this and there is a price difference

like the four doors more expensive so Cody and Rachel and Chris were supposed

to meet out with us but I don't think they're gonna be able to make it anymore

they're pretty busy with some stuff so it's going to go over there alone this

is so crazy I've never actually seen this before so if you guys don't know

already an L a majority of the places that you go to they have a parking

garage and you have to pay for like a certain amount of time that you are in

the parking garage most places the first hour is free with this place so like I'm

coming to Mercedes to hopefully like try and buy a car right but they still want

you to pay for parking but it's like I think it's like five bucks or like every

15 minutes or something that is insane I've never seen that before

you're too heavy for you you could barely open it alright there we go

there's my car G wagons are so clean so this is one of the cars that I was

saying you know the c63 AMG or an e63 AMG which that's a B 43 only thing is

the c63 is a coupe I mean it still got seats in the back

but I kind of like this body style better though I haven't seen the other

one in person yeah I'm gonna go try and find that one there's fans in the back

of the seat that is crazy so I was either looking at a c63 AMG or an e63

AMG they don't have an e63 here they do have the c63 but I've only found one and

the one is a convertible so alright so we went outside and they don't have what

we're looking for out there but apparently there's a place downstairs

that you can go to where they have like a bunch of c63 s and stuff so we're

gonna go check that out so I guess the rest of the cars were just in like an

actual garage dude the amount of cars in this place is insane this car is so

beautiful dude this is gorgeous so there's pretty

much just like s classes down here we can't find the c63 anywhere and I'm not

trying to get an s-class of like double the price that I would be paying for the

c-class you know these G wagons though so we're back upstairs looking at this

c63 they only have convertibles here which I don't really care I kind of like

the convertible but sometimes I do prefer the hardtop over it so

this is really really nice so I'm going to try and take this card for a test

drive right now I don't know if I'm going to take this exact one so test

guide but a c63 for sure we trying to get an Instagram pic us on there

bringing a c63 upstairs right now that I can test drive but my car at the end I'm

moving right happens it's not going to end up getting towed alright so we just

moved my car into a different location currently waiting for them to pull the

car around right now it should be ending up right here

this is the one I'm going to test guys I like that okay is there enough room back

there Lizzy like as a comfort I mean like it come visit more comfortable then

there's our Camaro I mean in this car feeling a little more like receded

straight off does that make sense but is it more comfortable to picking on the

Camaro or now you can't tell all right so after driving the c63 AMG I really do

like it I am going to head over to a BMW

dealership right now and check out maybe like an m4 m5 and see if I like it

better or just as much or maybe I don't like it as much I don't know he almost

glassed me right in the face but I do I do want options like I don't know I

don't want to do like an impulse decision and just be like oh yeah I want

this car I mean there could possibly be a car that I like even more that's maybe

less of the price or around the same even if you have to wait till you get

back if you don't need to yes there's no rush I mean I don't want to rush like

buying a car guys this is exactly what happened

before isn't it like you got your re and then we had to leave or so yeah that's

what sucks that's what's going to happen right this time cuz we have to leave

soon yeah when I got my RA I was literally in Jersey for like four or

five days and then I had to go back to LA for like I'd say like couple weeks to

a month so I mean we're going back to Jersey in a couple days anyway so I'm

know in no rush right not to get a card so I test drive and see how I like them

but I did like that one I'm going to be honest the person we were speaking to

which was the sales rep I think it was like one of their first days there

because honestly they had almost no idea what they were talking about

I would ask like simple questions like where's the traction control and she had

like no idea or I would say like is there

I launch control option and she's like what is that like she had no idea so I

don't know if I did go back there I probably wouldn't speak to her again

because like she said like nothing that I needed to know she had like no idea

about it but once again we are going to head over

to BMW right now I'm going to check out a couple different cars I think the m5

is the one that I do want to test drive

please keep recording funny thing that happened was I was trying to give the

car like a feel to see how quick it wasn't everything and every time I would

just slightly even put my my foot on the gas like that to automatically grab the

thing up here that the holder what do they call it the handlebar right and she

would get like super scared just like I I couldn't really get as much of a feel

for the car that I wanted to just because like I feel like she thought her

life was a danger like that whole time for some reason I just I couldn't put it

to his potential that I wanted to Wow look at this at least BMW has parking

for the customers so they don't have any m5 in stock currently but they do have

this m6 which is this is like one of 100 you know this is nice right but honestly

this is like out of the first range of them wanting to spend so they don't have

any m5 s here but I'm actually gonna be test driving an m4 right now to see if I

like that I also have one other car in mind which would be a CTS G my mom was

looking at that car before when we went to a Cadillac dealership before she got

her new BMW but that was really nice like I never got a chance to test drive

it but it was really really nice looking and those things are cool with their li

0 to 60 in like 3.6 seconds I'm pretty sure and they're supercharged here's the

m4 really nice ooh black oh yeah and this is the used 1/2 that they used this

is a used one for that they use for test driving

currently logging on my phone because my camera just died I drove the m4 really

really did like it I liked it actually a lot better than the c63 it was just more

of an aggressive Drive it's more of like what I'm used to especially with like my

r8 I like the aggressive shifting so that's

why I did like that a little bit more than the other one I did also want to

drive a cts-v and test that out to see how I like it but honestly it's starting

to get pretty late and I don't think by the time I get over to a Cadillac

dealership that that will actually still be open

it's like 736 right now I think they closed it like eight so yeah I probably

definitely want it like I said I'm not going to make any impulse decisions but

I still do want to drive the other cars so I'm going to wait off on that and

I'll probably end up actually waiting till I get back from Jersey until I do

make a final decision don't get me wrong I still do want a lamborghini aventador

that is my dream car but overall I just want like a daily driver right now that

I can fit everybody in and I can't have a two-seater right now as much as I

would want to out here I do need a car that has four seats in it at least I can

drive everybody around so I wanted to hit the gym right now but Lizzie wanted

to get food first she's pretty hungry and I was like how about we just go to

the gym now and eat after because you're probably even more hungry after that as

well and if we eat right now it's going to have a we're probably have like upset

stomachs and everything by the time we go to the gym and we're not going to

want to work out as hard she was like what what do you plan on eating

afterwards and I was like probably something healthy she's like something

healthy is like yeah probably Taco Bell or something like obviously that's not a

healthy but I just thought it was a pretty funny joke healthy in your mind

cuz healthy in my mind is like salad greens all that stuff that you don't eat

I don't eat salad I just don't like it I don't know I like chicken I'll get some

chicken in me for sure I love chicken I'm gonna take my pre-workout right now

probably end up bringing my boxing gloves over me an aid and we'll

definitely work on that it's just really fun to me I love training and trying to

become a professional MMA fighter you know why not I'm kidding obviously not

he won't eat unless you throw it to him but there's obviously pebbles right here

good dress he won't get it unless you throw it to

him like a tree anyway he books it I don't maybe thinks is a treat

yeah I guess this will have to do for now on like yeah the other food is just

yeah I guess in like the tree like look how much food is right there we have to

start I got to put this back yeah that can't all of you but he's not going to

eat it regardless I know like but that's a lot of that is a lot great I'm getting

exercise as he's eating you know every single pebble that he gets he's probably

burning off the energy of wood what he's eating Lindsey if you throw it all the

way across the room and then he runs back to you and then

you just keep doing it every single temple probably end up burning off in

that time in this it we're gonna pebbles everywhere look say goes you got her

here yeah yeah they're gonna be everywhere he's searching for clay

Hayden is always taking forever to come down and get me so I was going to walk

into his apartment Monson not even be here are you kidding me yeah he's

probably not even here this happen to me two times in a row like I finally get

somebody to fob me up to his floor and he isn't here where are you at I'm not

shelves are up bro I'm on your floor because Marc let me up because you were

taking forever right now oh my gosh we probably literally went the elevator the

same exact time no I'm gonna get you a nice try

I work out in an early went to the gym earlier get going again I love coming to

the gym it's literally like my second home if I have a chance to get here at

any time I will man I just love coming here every time I walk through the doors

I just feel so motivated every single time especially when we got music this

motivates me to dance but I'm trying to I'm trying to live it in took a picture

of me on senior trip this is like 1 years ago three four years ago dude 19 I

fell asleep on a chair outside we were in Disney and he put us he put this in

his video somebody screenshotted it look at that that's so funny look at you were

out right no dude I was not that's how you know I tell you no we were just

running around non-stop exactly we had like no sleep in our sleep schedules are

so hectic I still have pictures of Lance that he doesn't know about by the way I

had a lot of fun there though oh yeah Aiden just randomly take pictures of me

like the worst moment possible honestly Aiden put a picture of me and his video

that I had no idea he was going to do I look shredded like my veins are bulging

like crazy I watched that video yeah I took the picture like right here I was

like yo Aiden just take this snap of me real quick I want to see how I look and

just vein everywhere just like super vascular and I looked at that I was like

wow did I really like look so much better obviously my hair is like that's

not even worse than it is now at that time but I just like it's just so

motivating looking at pictures that you used to look like to what you look like

now it just makes you want to get back into that groove and start looking like

that again guys I bet he can do it because I can do it I can't do it

I can I just got to stop eating so crappy I I I feel like I've told you

guys there's so many times I just don't do it I'm gonna I'm gonna get there

The Real Reason You Don't Hear From Alanis Morissette Anymore - Duration: 5:42.

In 1996, Alanis Morissette became an instant worldwide superstar thanks to her debut album

Jagged Little Pill, which made her the youngest artist ever to take home a Grammy for Album

of the Year.

It seemed like she was poised for a long career with plenty of follow-up albums.

But while she has put out some music over the past couple decades, we haven't seen much

from her lately.

Why?

Here's a look at the real reason you don't hear from Alanis Morissette anymore.

Self help guru

Early on in her career, Morissette discovered that her fans were responding to her views

on psychology and spirituality as much or more than her music.

And in recent years, she's chosen to focus on helping others in ways besides music.

In 2015, she started a podcast called Conversations with Alanis Morissette where she discussed

spirituality with various gurus and mentors in the field.

She also joined the faculty of the Esalen Institute, where she taught a seminar and

workshop called Hurtling Towards Wholeness.

And in 2016, she joined the British newspaper The Guardian as an advice columnist.

Though she put those endeavors on hold in the summer of 2016 to focus on raising her

new baby, she hasn't given up on her mission to help those in need.

She's also writing a book called Perpetual Becoming, which is both a self-help guide

a memoir of Morissette's own spiritual journey through life.

"The consciousness movement doesn't mean you go from being bad to being good.

I think it's more that you go toward being whole."

Jagged Little Pill: The Musical

Decades on, Jagged Little Pill is still Morissette's most well-known work.

Back in 2013, it was announced that the same team that adapted Green Day's American Idiot

was working on a musical based on Jagged Little Pill.

The musical was originally scheduled to debut in 2014, but so far, it hasn't yet been completed.

In fact, Morissette said in 2015 that they had only just started on the project, explaining

that the musical was just the first step in a longer process, and "that at some point

down the next 10 years, I can envision myself creating a one-person show where I can really

get into the subtleties and the stories."

Good news, though: the singer announced in May 2017 that Oscar winning screenwriter Diablo

Cody is handling the adaptation, with an expected 2018 release date.

Here's hoping!

Guest starring Alanis

Morissette has been making music over the past few years, but you may have missed it.

That's because her live appearances have mostly been guest spots on other people's tours,

while her recorded efforts have been hidden in film soundtracks.

So far she's made appearances on stage with Taylor Swift and Demi Lovato among others,

while her newer music has shown up on the soundtracks to movies like The Chronicles

of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe and Prince of Persia.

And she also contributed to the soundtrack of the documentary for Awake: The Life of

Yogananda.

So just, like, open your third ear man and listen!

Dabbling in acting

While her most famous role might be in Kevin Smith's 1999 classic Dogma, she's been occasionally

popping up in other places, too — and more recently.

In 2009, she appeared on the Showtime comedy Weeds, a show which she credits with helping

her detox from a food addiction, which is no laughing matter.

Just ask Jason Segal.

"Whereas Alanis Morissette I can and have imagine her just chowing down a bologna sandwich."

And in 2016, she appeared in the period drama The Price of Desire, with The Hollywood Reporter

calling her "underused" in the role.

And they're right.

More Alanis, Hollywood!

Charity case

In 2001, Morissette was honored by the Friends of the United Nations when they presented

her with the Global Tolerance Award in recognition of her work in promoting equality and tolerance

throughout the artistic world.

She's also worked publicly with charity organizations including Equality Now, Relationships First,

the National Eating Disorders Association, Girls Not Brides, Attachment Parenting International,

P.S.

Arts, and Days For Girls International.

And in 2009, she even ran the New York Marathon to help raise money for the Maasai Wilderness

Conservation trust, finishing with a time of 4 hours, 28 minutes, and 45 seconds.

Dogged by legal issues

In March 2014, Morissette and her husband, Mario Treadway, found themselves in court

over a bizarre incident involving their dog, Circus.

According to People, the lawsuit claimed that when they fired their housekeeper, Maria Garcia,

she asked for permission to keep the dog as a part of her severance.

They said no — but she took the dog anyway.

After a great deal of really surreal drama, including fears the case would make the dog

a target for dognapping, the poor pooch was finally returned to Morissette.

That was small potatoes compared to the lawsuit she filed against then-manager Jonathan Todd

Schwartz in 2013.

Turns out Schwartz had been embezzling money from Morissette to the tune of $4.8 million.

He was found guilty in 2017 and sentenced to six years in prison, with the money repaid

to Morissette by his former firm.

Hiding from the internet

In 2015, Billboard chatted with her about her performance with Demi Lovato, and asked

her whether or not she had seen any of the internet's responses.

She said that she hadn't, and that was for a very good reason: it terrified her.

"My survival strategy from, frankly, when I was 15 years old, was not to expose myself,

because if I get too wound up in the positive feedback, it's inevitable that I'll get wound

up in the negative feedback. [...] in general, I kind of hide.

It's a self-preserving mechanism."

Sorry, trolls, you're wasting your time making fun of "Ironic" in the video's comment section!

"It's singing ironic…"

"But there are no ironies."

"And who would have thought."

"It figures."

Family time

Fortunately for Morissette, all that '90s angst has led to a happy 21st century.

Part of the reason for her silence is that she's spending some quality time with her

family.

She announced her marriage to Mario "Souleye" Treadway in 2010, and since then they've collaborated

on two children and one music video, for his song "Snow Angel."

Sounds like she's exactly where she wants to be right now.

Donald Trump isn't going to the U K because he doesn't want protesters report - Duration: 3:06.

Donald Trump isnt going to the U.K. because he doesnt want protesters report

President Donald Trump is reported to have delayed his planned trip to the United Kingdom

out of fear that he will be greeted by angry protesters.

Trump used this as his explanation during a recent phone conversation with British Prime

Minister Theresa May, according to a report by The Guardian.

Trumps relationship with Americas ally has been tense especially since he criticized

London Mayor Sadiq Khan for his response to the terrorist attack in his city, using a

misquote of Khans comment that London citizens shouldnt be alarmed by the increased number

of police officers.

The leader of the Labour Party, Jeremy Corbyn, has said on Twitter that he supports Trumps

decision to cancel his visit, especially after his attack on Londons mayor & withdrawal

from #ParisClimateDeal.

A White House official within told CNN on Monday that the President has tremendous

respect for Prime Minister May.

That subject never came up on the call.

The spokesman also said that the Queen extended an invitation to President Trump

to visit the U.K. and there is no change to those plans.

Trumps woeful relationship with the United Kingdom was underscored by Sen. John McCain

of Arizona, who told The Guardian when asked about the message that Trump was sending to

Americas ally: What do you think the message is?

The message is that America doesnt want to lead.

McCain added that the rest of the world is not sure of American leadership, whether

it be in Siberia or whether it be in Antarctica.

He also said that he felt President Barack Obamas administration had been superior

to Trumps as far as American leadership is concerned.

[MUSIC]

So mindfulness is a way to train your attention using your ordinary senses and

perceptions. Maybe you've heard about it. There's this explosion of research

that's validating its many benefits--the way it helps people manage stress,

reduce their anxiety, and even sleep better. I was

skeptical about these claims, because I have kind of a natural talent for stress.

One time I was stressed out on vacation after a massage...

>> [LAUGHTER] >> At a hot springs spa resort...

And I kept thinking how I wanted to take a picture of this place. Because it

would help me relax when I got back to the job I was dreading returning to.

So that gives you an idea of what I was up against. But I decided, I'm going to

give this mindfulness a try. So I've been practicing every day for 13 years.

And I noticed that it started to quietly

transform the way I was living my life,

when I stopped trying to get the outcomes I was hoping for, and

instead put my attention on doing the exercises required to get there.

It reminded me what I already knew about physical fitness.

If you take the stairs and

you notice your heart starts to beat faster, maybe your legs start to burn,

you don't say to yourself, oh, I must be taking the stairs wrong, right?

>> [LAUGHTER] >> You say,

this is what taking the stairs feels like. And

if we always take the elevator in order to save time and avoid discomfort,

we just miss opportunities for developing our physical health.

And it's the same thing, it works the same way. So many people try mindfulness and

they're convinced they're doing it wrong, so they give up. And

they miss an opportunity to change their relationship with discomfort.

And if you expect your everyday life to be free of discomfort and

confusion, you're going to spend all your energy worrying,

trying not to feel what you feel, and saying,

this messy life is not my real life. So what keeps us holding out for

these perfect, comfortable lives that we imagine? And

how can training your attention help address these habits?

There's an underlying story problem built into the way we relate to our lives.

It feels like I'm a character navigating all these challenges in order to

get somewhere. And this narrative structure is incredibly useful.

It helps me decide what's important. It makes it possible to work towards and

achieve goals--but there's a problem. My obstacles

don't seem to be part of what I consider my actual life.

They feel like temporary annoyances that I have to push through in order to get to

what's on the other side. But very often it turns out what's

on the other side of my obstacles ends up not being the relief I'm hoping for.

Am I the only one? It ends up being another obstacle, and

I have a spoiler alert here... This pattern keeps repeating and

repeating, and we end up waiting for,

habitually waiting for what's ever happening to pass. And

this dilemma scales all the way down to the moment-by-moment experience--all

these little looping stories of waking up on time, and trying to get to work, and

going to meeting, and dealing with difficult people, deciding what to eat...

And maybe the best we can do is sometimes comfort ourselves with the idea

of evenings and weekends and vacations, right? But

it's at this moment-by-moment scale where the work of mindfulness occurs,

all these little places where we distract ourselves and go onto autopilot.

But mindfulness isn't a solution to your story problem, so

don't cancel your therapy appointment. It's not a narrative solution at all.

It's actually a solution for

the problem of living within these narrative constraints.

And any time that you habitually check out,

starts to become an opportunity for checking in.

So let me give you a little exercise that you can use in any situation.

All you have to do is pause to notice some sensory detail of

your current experience. Let's give this a quick spin. For

just a few seconds, what's it like to see? It's easy.

What's it like to hear? What's it like to notice some sensation in your body?

So that's probably the shortest exercise workout I've ever led,

but...what I'm hoping you'll do is compare it to what you already know

about physical fitness. One push-up is not very impressive, it seems kind of trivial.

But we know that if we make a habit and we do several push-ups a day,

over weeks we're going to start noticing more strength in our upper body. So

instead of trying to be mindful,

what if you tried to notice what's happening? Every time you stop and

pay close attention to what's happening, you disrupt that narrative,

that narrative of your life from inside your story.

Instead of trying to live in the moment, what if you just started to sneak

this kind of noticing into your routine? When you take a shower,

what would it be like to actually feel the water hitting your body or

smell the shampoo? What would it be like to taste your coffee?

What if you notice what it looks like to see the screen in your hand and,

once in a while, look up and see what's right in front of you,

right? Any activity that doesn't require much thinking will work for this. And

it turns out there's a lot more of them than you realize once you start looking.

And nobody needs to know that you're doing this.

In fact, I recommend you kind of keep it to yourself.

>> [LAUGHTER] >> I've kind of learned from experience that nobody wants to

hear about the relaxation you're savoring in your legs during a meeting.

>> [LAUGHTER] >> And

the details you notice don't need to be pleasant.

What's it like to run late? What's it like to be standing in

the slowest line in the grocery store? What's it like to watch your windshield

wipers as you're waiting for the light to turn green? Your strategy for

living in the present will go a lot better when you accept how frequently the present

sucks. >> [LAUGHTER]

[APPLAUSE]

>> So I've been describing a way to pay attention in the midst of ordinary life.

But there's also a formal version of the practice you might be familiar,

where you pick something to notice over and over again for a set amount of time.

So maybe 10 or 15 minutes, you notice what it feels like to breathe.

You might notice what it's like to hear sounds around you. And

whenever you realize that you've completely lost contact with that,

you just gently bring your attention back. This timed practice is what everybody

thinks is the only thing that counts, and I want to challenge this assumption.

The timed practice is intended, it's like going to the gym.

It supports your ability to be attentive throughout out the rest of the day.

So you might notice relaxation during your timed practice, and

then check in throughout the day to see if there's something restful at all that you

can detect and savor. So, one time I was teaching a class,

and it wasn't a mindfulness class, but it was the first night.

I get a phone call and I had the start time wrong, so I was late and

I didn't realize it. There's a classroom full of people waiting across town for

me. So I spent this whole evening toggling back and

forth between the course content and how rattled I felt. My senses were heightened,

my face was hot, my breath was shallow, I felt embarrassed. It was super-vulnerable.

And over the next three weeks, during my formal practice time, it became about

observing all the related feelings and thoughts. And then, throughout the day,

I would check in to notice, can I detect any of those flavors emotionally?

And they were always there, simmering on a back burner.

And I think people would be surprised to know that,

if you saw me sitting every morning for those three weeks, you would say, oh,

he looks so relaxed. He's not moving, I want some of what he's having.

But inside, it was a total shit storm. >> [LAUGHTER] >> And

I wasn't doing it wrong. This is what my embarrassment and

the reverberations felt like. I think people would also be surprised

to discover that the catharsis I felt during that time was worth every moment of

turning towards that icky garden-variety discomfort instead of pushing it away.

The narrative mode of attention wasn't always our default.

Louise Gluck says, We look at the world once, in childhood.

The rest is memory. Noticing that you're alive is a taste that adults

have to reacquire. People think they don't have time to practice paying attention in

the way I'm describing, but I think what we really resist is being willing to

set aside our unresolved story problems, even for a few seconds.

And I'm not advocating noticing every sensation, all the time.

Instead of trying to put your story aside for even 15 minutes a day,

what would it be like if you limited your worrying, and

your numbing, and your unconsciousness to 23 hours and 45 minutes?

You don't have to try to be mindful, you don't have to be relaxed.

Just by remembering to notice again and again that this messy life,

with its one obstacle after another, really is your life.

And that it's possible to train your attention so that you feel more at home,

both in your story and in the direct experience of living. Thank you.

Hi I'm Gail Garbarino I am a producer, director, writer,

interviewer, project manager – kind of wearing a lot of hats. I have a

journalism background and I worked for a number of years in both radio and then

television news and really gravitated toward the longer format doing more

documentary half hour and hour-long productions for public television.

It's just exploded from there. One of my favorite things is going to age me, but I

have two little grandsons and I take great pleasure in babysitting for them. I

like to run. I like to stay healthy. I like to ride my exercise bike so that's

a big part of what I do. I love to travel! I've actually have spent a fair amount of

time in Italy which brings me back to my Italian roots which is part of my

heritage, but I've traveled around Europe

I've traveled around the United States a fair amount and I'm always looking for

new opportunities to travel beyond that.

EastEnders favourite Lee Ryan splits from beauty queen girlfriend Jaime-Lee Faulkner

EASTENDERS favourite Lee Ryan has split from his beauty queen girlfriend Jaime-Lee Faulkner – just two weeks after they were pictured looking loved-up.

The Blue singer and actor enjoyed a romantic date with stunning Jaime-Lee at Radio 1's Big Weekend in Hull, watching stars including Kings of Leon – with Lee gushing about the gig online.

Lee Ryan and Jamie-Lee Faulkner have split mere weeks after going public.

After enjoying the gig, Lee posted a photo online with the caption: Best night @bbcradio1 hull… thanks @realscottmills for the tickets! Me and @jaimeleefaulkner loved kings of Leon!!! Dream come true seeing them live!".

Last month a source told the Sun: Lee and Jaime have been seeing each other for a few weeks. Its very new still but they are loving getting to know each other..

But after a whirlwind romance the pair have already separated – with friends saying the couple have quickly drifted apart despite their intense fling – point out they have now severed all ties on social media.

Lee Ryan got cosy with the MissUniverse Great Britain winner at Radio 1's Big Weekend.

Lee Ryan reveals sexual experimentation. Lee dumped previous girlfriend Evelina, a Swede, to focus on EastEnders.

The pair previously posted candid photographs of their time together and openly discussed their relationship online. But Lee has now deleted all pictures of Jamie-Lee from his Instagram account, and unfollowed the beauty queen on his social media.

The Yorkshire lass, who secured Miss Universe Great Britain last month after five attempts, and Lee became besotted following his split from Evelina Nicastro.

Lee also grew very close to Jasmine Waltz in the Big Brother house in 2014. He ended things with Evelina, an air hostess, in April to focus on EastEnders.

Lee has always been a hit with the ladies and got no shortage of attention at the height of Blue's boyband success in the Noughties.

Over the years he was linked to celebrities from Caprice to Geri Horner, he was engaged to Liz McClarnon of Atomic Kitten and had a baby with Sammi Miller.

He even managed to find himself in a love triangle on national TV by hooking up with Casey Batchelor and Jasmine Waltz during his 2014 CBB stint.

He and Jaime went public at a charity bash in London last month but it has now hit the skids.

I Suck at This - Duration: 10:02.

(singing) Mama said the'll be days like this, the'll be days like this my mama said.

Hi everybody, I'm Amanda the G and I absolutely hate online dating.

It's great for the whole series COBS and getting all of those messages and that, but it really

doesn't translate to dating.

And it's not like I really even care that much about dating someone.

It's more that I really just want help mowing the yard and weeding the garden.

Basically I want a gardener who will work for free.

Is, is that a thing?

I'm terrible (laughing).

And I dislike different sites for different reasons.

There are a ton of online dating sites (pop-up noises) (groan) I've tried a few of them and

there's definite cons to each one.

We'll start with eHarmony.

For some reason I decided to pay to use this site in my mid-twenties I think?

My early twenties?

Somewhere in there?

I spent forever filling out their little questionnaire and setting up a profile and doing all of

that.

And there's so many people on there who did the free weekend sometime and their profile

just never goes away.

It's just there.

So you can see it, read through it, but good luck cause they're not actually there.

Also if you do the free communication, by the way, you can't ever see profile pictures

when you do that, so it is and it isn't helpful.

They have the most obnoxious guided communication, where it's like here is a question that you

can select from, and then you have multiple choice answers.

And it's terrible.

And you have to go through back and forth a few times before you can actually write

a message.

Which I understand and I don't.

Cause it's kinda hard to come up with a first message but their communication doesn't really

give you what you might be asking.

And it seems kind of, like, perfunctory.

Then the other problem that I really had with eHarmony is it is very much set up for a very

traditionalist view - men and women meet each other, get married, have babies.

And if you don't wanna be in that group at all or part of that for whatever reason, it's

not really set up to do anything else.

You can select other things but your then selection is not very big.

And basically I went on a date in six months of paying for it.

Another popular paid site is match.com.

I went to sign up for, did not pay for, because they let you see ahead of time who's on the

site.

Which I appreciate!

So you know that you're not wasting your time and your money.

I went through, set up a profile, looked at what was there, and did a very cursory search

of a broad age range of non-smokers who didn't want children and I got less than 20 results.

Of those less than 20, you figure probably none of them are actually gonna be compatible

but maybe a handful, but you never even know if they're on the site and if they're paying

to use it.

Then there's a variety of other sites that I have not used and I haven't paid for because

I don't really see the point in paying for it, see previous note about eHarmony.

Let's move on to some of the free sites.

If you wanna be a super creeper, you can use craigslist.

Then there are sites like okcupid where everything is free, but also, good luck.

There's a whole bunch of people there, you can kind of filter for what you're looking

for but their search feature isn't the greatest, so if you filter for a specific thing - like

does not want children or does not smoke or something like that - it will work if they've

listed that in your profile but if you have a blank section in your profile, it doesn't

include that person at all.

A lot of people haven't filled out everything and if you haven't filled out everything then

it doesn't come up in the search.

So then you have to broaden your search and then you have to physically, like, look at

everything and then exclude it yourself because you can't look for blanks.

That's just a frustration thing.

And then there's the whole like match percentage on okcupid, which, if you don't know, is set

up basically like, here's a whole bunch of random questions that really don't have anything

to do with anything, and some of them do, but a lot don't.

So then you just answer them and then it gives you a percentage.

So that is and is not helpful.

I've also noticed that there tends to be a better result when you're younger, at least

for being a woman and being younger.

I was on that site fresh out of grad school and there were a lot of messages and I got

that little email that says you're one of the more attractive people blah blah blah,

which I don't believe, but whatever.

And then I got rid of my profile, got off the site, all of that.

I went back to it, set up a new profile, and I've never gotten that attractive message,

and it's not the same sort of fervor that there was when I was younger.

Yay for getting old!

Then there's Plenty of Fish which is pretty much the same thing as okcupid except they

do the percentages differently.

And I don't really understand how they do a "top match."

You do a personality profile instead of answering a bunch of questions and then it's unclear

how all of it relates and I'm not actually sure that anything relates to anything on

any of these sites.

Then you've got apps like tinder which is basically just swipe, swipe, swipe, swipe,

swipe, swipe, swipe, swipe- The problem there is there's no such thing as a filter at all.

You have distance and age.

So it's clearly set up to be a hookup app and absolutely nothing else, although people

try and use it for other things.

And even if you're just using it for a hookup app, couldn't you also include, like, smoking

versus non, cause that's kind of a big issue sometimes.

Or has kids versus not which might or might not be an issue depending upon the person.

It's also attached to your Facebook which is kinda creepy.

It's not really attached but you use Facebook to sign into it and it's just weird.

But even though it takes your contact list, it doesn't eliminate them from the people

that it pulls up!

If you know we're friends on Facebook, maybe don't include their picture there.

And then we come to Bumble which has a similar basic set up as tinder but it's designed to

be more dating focused, I think.

So it's also swipe, swipe, swipe, swipe with a very short profile and pictures that it

also connects to your Facebook but then you don't have to use the pictures from Facebook.

And once more, like tinder, you're only able to communicate with people that you have mutually

matched with.

The problems with Bumble are that it's designed to be a little bit nicer towards women but

it's not really.

That was their main focus, was well women are getting bombarded with these messages,

ignoring the fact that men are also getting bombarded with these messages, ignoring people

non-binary getting bombarded with messages and the fact that people just bombard with

messages.

And it says, ok, let's let women make the first move, ALWAYS.

If you match, you have 24 hours to send a message.

That's it!

And did I mention really short profiles, like some people don't put anything there or it's

a sentence.

How do you write a message off of a sentence and 3 pictures IN 24 HOURS?!

You might be doing other things!

You might be somewhere else and your match will just expire because you couldn't be near

your phone at that time.
