Hello everyone and thanks for joining me
on our first little vlog after the release
First thing first, we just wanted to take this opportunity to thanks everyone
for the incredible support that we received
over the launch of Dead Cells
we were really really surprised by that
we're only a small team of devs based in France
pretty much unknown outside of this country
so for a first steam title this has been amazing
looking back over not only user reviews
but also critics, reviews and the press that we received
We just, we can't believe it, [Steve mumbling] amazing recognition
of the year and half of work that we put into Dead Cells
You know, we had guys like RPS, Polygon and Kotaku
who all did reviews of an indie early access title
so that just felt fantastic for us
and we wouldn't have been able to do that without all the people
who got behind us and bought the game, got involved into this Early Access,
so thanks you very much.
Anywho, down to business
We pushed a new major update into our beta branch a couple of weeks ago
and we're releasing that today so we wanted to have a look
all of the new gameplay elements that it's bringing in
cause there is a couple of good ones.
So, one of my favourite update is the fire aspect that we've introduced into the game
You've got a lot of interactions and different weapons and combinations
that you could come up with now that will help you burn things
which can be kind of fun
The next big change would be the shield
so you can now rebond those red bombs
that the monsters can throw at you back at them
and also when you get hit even if you're carrying the shield and you're not using it
you get a little force field that will come around you to help you
so to make you feel a little bit more useful when you're carrying a shield
Back by popular demand is the broadsword
the big greatsword, the big slow beast we had in the game
and also the nutcracker which is like a great hammer
that you can use to stun unharmed ennemies.
so that's quite fun to play with
We're slowly adding new NPCs to the game
and so these guys are gonna be an integral part of revealing the lore
and the story behind Dead Cells, the island and everything that's happening there
For the moment we've added in a bunch of new merchants
guys who sells specific things, so hopefully you'll like that
and particularly the stats guy you can find in the starting room
who is gonna tell you about what you've actually done so far in the castle
how many runs and all that kind of stuff
On top of that, we've also added our first batch of achievements
so there will obviously be more coming as we go
but have fun unlocking them for now.
So obviously, as per every update, we're doing a lot of balancing and bug fixing
so we're anxiously waiting for all of the angry emails
and bad reviews because we broke your favorite exploit
the OP rapiere or poison damage and other things that we nerfed
but we still love you, sorry about that.
Now probably one of the most significant updates with this patch
that we've included is the ability to create language mods.
So if you want to help translate the game into your language
please do get involved
there is a detailed post on the steam forums with all the instructions
on how you can get involved and do that
and the link should be in the description just down here
Of course, this would not be an update
if we did not address the burning question about consoles.
So for the record, we're in the process of talking to the three big ones
that's to say Sony, Nintendo and Microsoft
to bring the game to PS4, Switch and Xbox One.
We are going slowly, we're still at the very early stages of that
we hope that we're going to be able to bring it out on the consoles
but as soon as we got more news we will let you know.
A quick word on support and reporting bugs
we're getting a lot of messages via Twitter, Facebook, and emails
but the best way to help us out with that
bearing in mind we're only a small team
we probably won't be able to respond you individually
is to post the bug on the steam forums or potentially head over to reddit
where other users may be able to help you out.
In the meantime, we are reading all the reports that come through on steam
and we will work to fix them.

So last but not least, we know that you're pulling off some little trickshots in dead Cells
and we would love to see any of these badass moments that you might have done
we had like to show them to the rest of the community
so if you want to record a little video clip
anything from 3 to 15 seconds
we will have a look through it, feature the best ones into a little video
that we will put up on our Youtube channel and share around the place
Anyone who gets in that video will get their hands on a tshirt
poster, flyers, goodies, maybe the OST for the game, some little things
