Do liberal pundits have blood on their hands?

It appears the leftist shooter shooter who recently targeted Republicans at a congressional

baseball practice was radicalized by at least one known talking head — Rachel Maddow.

MSNBC host Rachel Maddow aired a segment on her show Wednesday night reacting to the news

that the Alexandria, Virginia, shooter was a huge fan of her show.

When the show was re-aired, the segment connecting Maddow to the shooter was CUT (via Breitbart).

Imagine that!

Maybe because a real connection was actually established?

To recap, James Hodgkinson was fatally wounded after he opened fire on Republican congressmen

practicing for Thursdays bipartisan congressional charity baseball game.

Hodgkinson was a devoted Democrat and was attempting to murder as many Republican legislators

as possible.

He was a huge fan of Rachel Maddow and volunteered for the Bernie Sanders election campaign.

House Majority Whip Steve Scalise and five others were injured in the attack.

Scalise is now in critical condition.

Capitol Police responded quickly to the shooting and prevented a massacre.

When the identity of the shooter was released, the political motivations for the attack became

obvious.

The 66-year-old Trump-hater was radicalized, at least in part, by the mainstream media.

Hodgkinson was a member of the traitorous Facebook group "Terminate the Republican

Party."

It is outrageous that Facebook censors conservative joke pages, but allows groups advocating political

assassinations.

The shooter lived in Belleville, Illinois.

He traveled to Virginia in March and planned his attack while living out of a white cargo

van.

The murderous liberal made frequent trips to the baseball field where he ultimately

launched his attack.

The Belleville News-Democrat is a partisan publication from Illinois.

The liberal newspaper featured many letters-to-the-editor from Hodgkinson including one that reads,

"One of my favorite TV shows is 'The Rachel Maddow Show' on MSNBC."

Rachel Maddow responded to the connection on her program, denying any relation to the

shooter in her opening segment.

However, when the Wednesday night program was re-aired the next day, it was edited to

remove any mention of the Virginia shooter.

Rachel Maddow is clearly attempting to hide a direct connection between herself and the

leftist shooter.

At the very least, the lying liberal media has blood on its hands for fostering our current

violent political climate.

The mainstream media has been actively advancing the justification to murder conservatives

by propagating the lie that all Republicans are evil, racist millionaires, hell-bent on

stealing from the poor.

In many ways, the biased media encouraged Hodgkinson's assassination plot.

Do you think Rachel Maddow should be held accountable for promoting political violence?

Please share this news and tell us what you think!

Could Life Have Survived in Mars's Ancient Lake? - Duration: 6:04.

For almost five years, the Curiosity rover has been exploring the bottom of Gale Crater

on Mars.

But if you look far enough back in time, you wouldn't be able to explore it with just

a rover — you'd need a submarine!

You wouldn't be looking at Gale crater anymore — it would be Gale Lake.

Scientists think that an ancient sea survived there for about 700 million years, from around

3.8 to 3.1 billion years ago.

And in a new paper out in the journal Science, researchers used what Curiosity's learned

about the rocks in Gale Crater to put together a history of the ancient lake.

Their results suggest that the lake had two distinct layers, each with its own chemistry.

And for those 700 million years, the conditions in the lake probably would have allowed life

to survive — if it ever did evolve on Mars.

With the water long gone, the researchers needed to look for clues left behind in the

planet's rocks.

Rivers and lakes are full of floating particles which settle onto the bottom over time to

form sediments.

Over time, these sediments pile up on one another, with each layer corresponding to

a different period in the lake's history.

Eventually, the immense weight of these piles, plus the water above them, starts to compress

the lower layers into solid rock, called sedimentary rock.

Essentially, sedimentary rocks are the fossilized remains of the lake bed — and on Earth,

that's where we find most fossilized life, like dinosaurs.

Even though we haven't found any evidence of life, Gale Crater's sedimentary rocks

can tell us a ton about what things were like in the lake billions of years ago.

Normally, to get to this ancient part of the rock record, you'd have to dig through kilometers

of solid rock -- which would be pretty tough for a car-sized rover!

That's what made Gale Crater the ideal landing site for Curiosity: there's a giant, 5.5-kilometer-tall

peak smack in the middle of it, named Mount Sharp.

Mountains are like time machines, exposing all that old rock for easy viewing.

So to study hundreds of millions of years of history, all Curiosity needs to do is drive

up the side of Mount Sharp and analyze rocks in different places.

When the researchers put together all that data, they found that Gale Lake was stratified,

meaning that the water formed distinct layers, and that those layers had different amounts

of oxygen.

Plain oxygen was poisonous to early life on Earth, but compounds containing oxygen, like

iron oxide or manganese oxide, might have been helpful for early forms of life as we

know it.

With its varying levels of oxygen, Gale Lake could have had some of those compounds, which

would've provided some life-friendly habitats.

The team also found that the Martian climate above the lake changed over time, bouncing

between colder, drier conditions and warmer, wetter ones.

But bodies of water can make environmental changes like these less extreme.

So despite the changes happening on the surface, the lake itself might have stayed habitable

for long periods of time — a hopeful sign in our search for evidence of life on Mars.

Meanwhile, other astronomers are learning about mysteries much farther from home.

In another recent paper published in the journal Science, a group of researchers studying a

distant star did something remarkable: they proved Einstein wrong.

Well, they proved him both right and wrong.

More than a hundred years ago, Einstein described how massive objects like stars bend the fabric

of the universe as part of his general theory of relativity.

One of general relativity's coolest predictions is that the light from far-off stars bends

as it passes objects closer to us, in what's known as gravitational microlensing.

Basically, a closer star's gravity can act as a lens for the light from a more distant

star, which leads to two major effects: the background star can look much brighter than

usual, and it can also look like its position shifts a little in the night sky.

Einstein thought that these effects would be too small for us to ever observe them.

But he had no idea that we'd develop space telescopes and digital imaging techniques

that are impossibly sensitive compared to the photographic plates of his era.

For decades now, we've been able to observe the brightening that comes from gravitational

lensing, but one part of Einstein's prediction remained stubbornly true: we just couldn't

see that shift in position.

It's rare for stars to align in just the right way, and even when they do, the shift

is so small that we haven't been able to detect it.

At least, until now.

Using the Hubble Space Telescope, the team saw one star change the apparent position

of another for the very first time.

In the process, they proved Einstein's prediction wrong, but they found more evidence that his

theory is right.

They also cleared up some major confusion about the star used as the lens.

Stein 2051 B is one of the closest and best-studied examples of a white dwarf, which is what stars

like our Sun turn into at the end of the lives.

But scientists have been really confused about its mass.

Based on its radius, 2051 B should weigh about two-thirds as much as our Sun.

But previous estimates put its mass at only about half of the Sun's — and that's

a big difference.

For a star with 2051 B's radius and that lower mass to form, it would have to start

off incredibly hot.

In fact, some estimates suggested that in order to cool down to its current temperature,

2051 B would need to be as old as the universe itself … which made no sense, since our

galaxy is about 600 million years younger than that.

Based on how 2051 B bent that background star's light, the researchers were able to get a

much more accurate measurement of the white dwarf's mass.

And it turns out that it does weigh about two-thirds as much as the Sun.

That's a win for understanding the lives of stars and a win for general relativity

— all around, a pretty good day for astronomy!

How Can I Deal with Doubt? - Duration: 28:33.

ANNOUNCER: THE FOLLOWING PROGRAM

IS PAID FOR BY THE FRIENDS AND PARTNERS

OF JOYCE MEYER MINISTRIES.

JOYCE: WE'RE EITHER GOING TO BELIEVE GOD, OR WE'RE GOING

TO BELIEVE THE ENEMY.

WE'RE GOING TO BELIEVE GOD, OR WE'RE GOING TO BELIEVE

OUR FEELING.

WE'RE GOING TO BELIEVE GOD, OR WE'RE GOING TO BELIEVE

WHAT PEOPLE TELL US.

WE'RE GOING TO BELIEVE GOD, OR WE'RE GOING TO BELIEVE

OUR OWN MIND.

WE'RE GOING TO BELIEVE GOD, OR WE'RE GOING TO BELIEVE

OUR CIRCUMSTANCES.

AND I THINK YOU'VE PROBABLY BEEN AROUND LONG ENOUGH TO KNOW

THAT GOD'S GOT A BETTER REPUTATION

THAN ALL THE REST OF THOSE PUT TOGETHER.

GINGER: AS WE WALK THROUGH EACH NEW DAY,

WE ALL HAVE QUESTIONS.

THEY'RE JUST PART OF LIFE, BUT DID YOU KNOW THERE ARE

ANSWERS FOR YOU?

GOD SAYS WHEN WE LOOK, WE'LL FIND HIM.

HE'S NOT TRYING TO HIDE ANYTHING.

SO TOGETHER, WE ARE DISCOVERING LIFE'S EVERYDAY ANSWERS.

SO, WE HAVE A QUESTION FOR YOU.

IS THIS GLASS HALF EMPTY OR HALF FULL?

WELL, WE'VE ALL SEEN THIS EXAMPLE OF HOW WE LOOK

AT THINGS DIFFERENTLY, BUT DID YOU KNOW

THAT BASED ON HOW YOU VIEW THIS GLASS, IT COULD DETERMINE

WHETHER OR NOT YOU DRINK THE WATER?

HMM, INTERESTING, HUH?

WELL, MORE ON THAT LATER.

BUT FIRST, CHECK OUT THIS QUESTION FROM TWITTER.

DANIELLE ASKS, "HOW DO YOU DEAL WITH DOUBT?"

GREAT QUESTION, DANIELLE.

AND IF YOU ARE ONE OF THOSE PEOPLE WHO DEAL

WITH DOUBT, AND I DON'T KNOW ANYONE WHO DOESN'T AT ONE TIME

OR ANOTHER, MAYBE YOU'RE ALWAYS SECOND GUESSING YOURSELF

OR EVEN SECOND GUESSING GOD, THEN YOU ARE

IN THE PERFECT PLACE.

JOYCE IS GOING TO ANSWER THREE QUESTIONS TODAY FOCUSED

ON DOUBT, DOUBTING YOURSELF, DOUBTING GOD, AND TODAY,

WE'LL SHOW YOU HOW TO HANDLE ALL OF THEM.

HERE'S JOYCE'S ANSWER TO THE QUESTION, HOW CAN I DEAL

WITH DOUBT?

JOYCE: YOU KNOW, I THINK DOUBT, NAGGING DOUBTS, YOU'VE

MADE A DECISION, NOW HERE COMES THE NAGGING DOUBTS,

IT'S LIKE HAVING A BAD HANGNAIL.

YOU JUST NEVER KNOW WHEN IT'S GOING TO GO...

SUCH A LITTLE THING, BUT SUCH A HUGE PROBLEM.

HAVE ANY OF YOU BEEN DEALING WITH THE HANGNAIL OF DOUBT?

DOUBT COMES TO ATTACK ALL OF US.

IT ATTACKED ABRAHAM.

I'M SURE THAT DOUBT EVEN TRIED TO ATTACK THE MIND OF OUR LORD

AND SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST.

I THINK HE HAD TO LIFT UP THE SHIELD OF FAITH.

ABRAHAM HAD TO LIFT UP THE SHIELD OF FAITH.

WHEN DOUBT COMES AGAINST US, WE JUST CAN'T SAY, "WELL, YOU KNOW,

I JUST WISH I DIDN'T HAVE SUCH A PROBLEM WITH DOUBT."

YOU GOT TO LIFT UP THE SHIELD OF FAITH AND YOU GOT TO SAY,

"I BELIEVE.

I BELIEVE THAT EVERYTHING

THAT GOD HAS TOLD ME WILL COME TO PASS."

LET'S LOOK AT ACTS CHAPTER 27 AND BEGINNING IN VERSE 14.

NOW, PAUL WAS IN A SHIP

WITH SEVERAL OTHER PEOPLE, AND GUESS WHAT?

A VIOLENT STORM CAME UP.

JUST LIKE WHEN JESUS WAS IN THE BOAT WITH HIS DISCIPLES

AND HE SAID, "LET US CROSS OVER TO THE OTHER SIDE,"

THE VERY NEXT THING THAT HAPPENED WAS A VIOLENT

STORM OF HURRICANE PROPORTIONS CAME UP.

JUST ABOUT ANY TIME THAT YOU SET YOUR MIND, YOU MAKE A DECISION,

YOU DECIDE TO DO BETTER IN LIFE, YOU DECIDE TO MAKE A COMMITMENT

TO SOMETHING YOU BELIEVE GOD'S ASKING YOU TO MAKE A COMMITMENT

TO, THE NEXT THING YOU CAN PROBABLY EXPECT IS A STORM.

I HATE TO TELL YOU THAT.

I'D RATHER TELL YOU THAT'S NOT THE CASE, BUT I WOULD JUST BE

TELLING YOU WHAT YOU'D LIKE TO HEAR RATHER THAN REALITY

IF I DID THAT.

THERE'S GOING TO BE A STORM.

"BUT SOON AFTERWARD A VIOLENT WIND [OF THE CHARACTER

OF A TYPHOON] CALLED A NORTHEASTERNER CAME BURSTING

DOWN FROM THE ISLAND.

AND WHEN THE SHIP WAS CAUGHT AND WAS UNABLE TO HEAD

AGAINST THE WIND, WE GAVE UP AND LET HER DRIFT

AND BE BORNE ALONG.

WE RAN UNDER THE SHELTER OF A SMALL ISLAND CALLED CAUDA,

WHERE WE MANAGED WITH [MUCH] DIFFICULTY TO DRAW

THE SHIP'S SMALL BOAT ON THE DECK.

AFTER HOISTING IT ON BOARD, THEY USED SUPPORTERS."

AND HE GOES ON AND ON AND ON HERE, AND TALKS

ABOUT ALL THE DIFFERENT THINGS THAT THEY DID, AND HOW DIFFICULT

IT WAS, AND THE PEOPLE WERE GETTING ALL DEPRESSED

AND DISCOURAGED, AND ON AND ON AND ON.

AND THEN PAUL SAYS IN VERSE--LET'S TURN

IN VERSE 22, "BUT [EVEN] NOW I BEG YOU TO BE IN GOOD SPIRITS

AND TAKE HEART."

SO, RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF THIS HORRIBLE STORM,

PAUL IS SAYING, "NOW, I'M BEGGING YOU TO STAY

IN GOOD SPIRITS."

YOU KNOW, THAT'S KIND OF HARD, ISN'T IT, WHEN YOU GOT A STORM

IN YOUR LIFE TO BE HAPPY AND HAVE A GOOD ATTITUDE?

BUT YET, THE BIBLE TELLS US THAT WE'RE TO KEEP OUR JOY.

"IN THIS WORLD, THERE WILL BE TRIBULATION," JESUS SAID.

CHEER UP.

CHEER UP.

COME ON, I'M HAVING A HARD TIME EVEN GETTING A SMILE OUT OF YOU,

LET ALONE A LAUGH.

"CHEER UP, I HAVE OVERCOME THE WORLD."

SO, PAUL SAID, "I BEG YOU TO STAY IN GOOD SPIRITS."

JOY IS POWERFUL IF YOU WON'T LOSE YOUR JOY.

"AND TAKE HEART, FOR THERE WILL BE NO LOSS OF LIFE

AMONG YOU BUT ONLY OF THE SHIP.

FOR THIS [VERY] NIGHT THERE STOOD BY MY SIDE AN ANGEL OF GOD

TO WHOM I BELONG AND WHOM I SERVE AND WORSHIP.

AND HE SAID, 'DO NOT BE FRIGHTENED, PAUL.

IT'S NECESSARY FOR YOU TO STAND BEFORE CAESAR AND BEHOLD,

GOD HAS GIVEN YOU ALL OF THOSE WHO ARE SAILING WITH YOU.'"

SO, NOW I LOVE THIS, "SO KEEP UP YOUR COURAGE, MEN,

FOR I HAVE FAITH (COMPLETE CONFIDENCE) IN GOD

THAT IT WILL BE EXACTLY AS IT WAS TOLD TO ME."

NOW, THAT'S WHEN YOU NEED TO SAY--WHEN YOU'RE

IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STORM, THAT'S WHEN YOU NEED TO SAY,

"I BELIEVE THAT IT WILL BE

EXACTLY AS GOD HAS PROMISED IN MY LIFE."

WE DON'T JUST SING IT IN CHURCH, BUT WE SAY IT IN THE STORM.

I BELIEVE THAT IT WILL BE EXACTLY AS GOD HAS TOLD ME.

I DON'T KNOW WHEN, I DON'T KNOW HOW.

AND ACTUALLY, THE TRUTH IS I'VE DECIDED NOT TO WORRY ABOUT IT.

I'M GOING TO LEAVE ALL THAT TO GOD, AND I'M GOING

TO GO AHEAD AND ENJOY EVERY DAY OF MY LIFE THAT I HAVE

BECAUSE GOD IS WORKING ON MY SITUATION, AND I BELIEVE,

I BELIEVE.

I THINK THE WAY THAT WE LIFT UP THAT SHIELD OF FAITH IS

TO RELEASE OUR FAITH THROUGH OUR MOUTH.

SEE, FAITH IS A FORCE THAT RESIDES ON THE INSIDE

OF YOU THAT'S BEEN GIVEN TO YOU BY GOD.

BUT IN ORDER FOR FAITH TO DO ANY GOOD, IT HAS TO BE RELEASED.

AND I THINK WE RELEASE FAITH THROUGH SAYING, THROUGH PRAYING,

AND THROUGH DOING.

I THINK YOU TAKE--I BELIEVE THAT I RELEASE MY FAITH

EVERY TIME I COME FROM THAT LITTLE CORNER

OUT OVER THERE, AND I COME OUT HERE AND I STAND IN FRONT OF YOU

AND I OPEN MY MOUTH.

THAT'S MY ACTION OF FAITH.

AND ACTUALLY, YOU WOULDN'T-- I MEAN, YOU KNOW, I'M NOT AFRAID

TO DO THIS, I'VE DONE IT SO MUCH.

BUT WHEN I WALKED OVER THERE OUT HERE FIRST TIME

THIS MORNING, I JUST THOUGHT, "WELL LORD, HERE WE GO AGAIN."

YOU KNOW, YOU THINK I ALWAYS FEEL ANOINTED TO DO THIS

AND I FEEL LIKE I'VE GOT THE RIGHT THING TO SAY?

SOMETIMES I DON'T--YOU KNOW, IT'S LIKE, "WELL."

YOU KNOW?

BUT I JUST FIND IF I WALK OUT HERE, THAT'S

MY STEP OF FAITH TO TRUST GOD TO SHOW UP.

AND A LOT OF TIMES, I DON'T FEEL THAT HE'S WITH ME

UNTIL I DO THAT.

SEE, A LOT OF TIMES, WE WANT ALL THE PROOF THAT GOD

IS WORKING IN OUR LIFE BEFORE WE'LL DO ANYTHING.

YOU HAVE FAITH GIVEN TO YOU AS A GIFT FROM GOD,

BUT YOU GOT TO RELEASE IT.

AND YOU GOT TO RELEASE IT BY TAKING GOD-INSPIRED ACTION,

BY PRAYING GOD-INSPIRED PRAYERS, AND BY SAYING THINGS THAT AGREE

WITH GOD'S WORD.

SO, WHEN DOUBT COMES, THE WAY YOU FIGHT DOUBT

IS TO DOUBT YOUR DOUBTS.

AND WHEN THE DEVIL PUTS THE THOUGHT OF DOUBT, YOU SAY,

"I DOUBT THAT DOUBT, AND I BELIEVE THAT IT WILL BE

EXACTLY AS GOD HAS TOLD ME THAT IT WILL BE."

GINGER: SO, WE'VE LEARNED THAT WE NEED TO DEAL WITH DOUBT

BY RELEASING OUR FAITH.

AND WE RELEASE OUR FAITH THROUGH PRAYER.

BUT HOW DOES THAT APPLY WHEN WE DOUBT GOD HIMSELF?

WELL, JOYCE HAS THE ANSWER FOR THAT COMING UP, BUT FIRST WE

NEED TO HEAR YOUR VOICE.

WE ASKED YOU TO SHARE HOW GOD IS HELPING YOU TO LOVE PEOPLE.

ANNE SAYS, "MY 5-YEAR-OLD GRANDDAUGHTER AND I JUST TALKED

ABOUT THIS THE OTHER DAY.

I WAS DOING MY DAILY BIBLE STUDY,

AND SHE ASKED ME WHY DO I DO BIBLE STUDY EVERY DAY.

I TOLD HER, 'THIS BOOK SHOWS ME HOW TO LOVE OTHERS.'

I SAID, 'I CAN'T GET UP IN THE MORNING AND BE

THE LOVING PERSON I AM WITHOUT THIS BOOK AND BECAUSE

OF JESUS AND HIS LOVE FOR ME.'" MIKE SAYS, "GOD HAS HELPED ME

LOVE PEOPLE BY LEADING ME INTO A CAREER TEACHING

PUBLIC SCHOOLS.

IT HAS ALWAYS BEEN MORE THAN A PAYCHECK.

IT'S BEEN A GIFT OF LOVE IN MANY WAYS THAT EXTENDS

GOD'S LOVE THROUGH ME INTO ALL THE CHILDREN.

IT TEMPERS THEIR HURT AND PAIN."

WELL, YOU ARE BOTH SO RIGHT, AND THERE IS NO WAY

THAT ANY OF US CAN LOVE WITHOUT GOD REALLY BEING

IN OUR LIFE TO HELP US.

AND TO HEAR WHAT YOU'RE SAYING ABOUT SEEING IT

REALLY AS A MINISTRY AND THE WAY THAT GOD HAS PUT YOU

IN THE RIGHT PLACE WITH THE RIGHT PEOPLE TO LOVE

THEM, THAT'S SOMETHING THAT WE ALL NEED TO PRAY FOR EVERY DAY.

THIS TIME, SHARE WITH US HOW GOD HAS HELPED YOU TRUST HIM.

PERHAPS THAT WILL HELP SOMEONE ELSE WHO IS STRUGGLING

WITH THEIR OWN FAITH.

GO TO OUR FACEBOOK PAGE, YOU'LL SEE THE QUESTION,

YOU CAN POST ON THERE.

IF YOU USE TWITTER, USE #EA.

AND RIGHT NOW, WE HAVE ANOTHER QUESTION

ON THIS WHOLE TOPIC.

TODAY, IT COMES FROM CATHERINE,

AND SHE SAYS, "HOW DO I PUT TRUST AND FAITH IN GOD

WHEN BAD THINGS KEEP HAPPENING?" WELL, CATHERINE,

HERE'S YOUR ANSWER.

JOYCE: ROMANS 4, VERSE 18, "[FOR ABRAHAM, HUMAN REASON

FOR] HOPE BEING GONE, HOPED ON IN FAITH."

HE MUST'VE HAD SOME REALLY, REALLY, REALLY LOUSY

CIRCUMSTANCES.

HE HAD A PROMISE FROM GOD.

NOTHING HAPPENED ACCORDING TO THE TIMETABLE

THAT HE WOULD HAVE CHOSEN.

PART OF IT WAS HIS OWN FAULT BECAUSE HE GOT IN THE FLESH,

AND SINCE GOD WASN'T MOVING FAST ENOUGH, HE--HIM AND SARAH

CONCOCTED A PLAN OF THEIR OWN, AND I THINK THAT JUST PUT OFF

GOD'S ANSWER.

"[ALL HUMAN REASON FOR] HOPE BEING GONE, HE HOPED ON IN FAITH

THAT HE WOULD BECOME THE FATHER OF MANY NATIONS AS IT

HAD BEEN PROMISED UNTO HIM."

HE HAD A PROMISE FROM GOD.

IT TOOK TOO LONG.

THINGS WEREN'T HAPPENING.

HE HAD TO LOOK AT HIS BODY, WHICH WAS AS GOOD AS DEAD.

HE HAD TO LOOK AT SARAH, WHO WAS BARREN AND WAY PAST

CHILD-BEARING YEARS.

I MEAN, THE TWO OF THEM I'M SURE WERE QUITE A MESS IF YOU

JUST TOOK IT AT FACE VALUE.

AND YET, THEY HAD A PROMISE FROM GOD THAT THEY

WERE GOING TO HAVE A CHILD AND THAT HE WOULD BE THE FATHER

OF MANY NATIONS.

"HE DIDN'T WEAKEN IN FAITH WHEN HE CONSIDERED

THE [UTTER] IMPOTENCE OF HIS OWN BODY, WHICH WAS

AS GOOD AS DEAD BECAUSE HE WAS ABOUT A HUNDRED YEARS OLD,

OR [WHEN HE CONSIDERED]

THE BARRENNESS OF SARAH'S [DEAD] WOMB."

EVERYTHING HERE IS DEAD.

NOW, WATCH THIS, "NO UNBELIEF OR DISTRUST MADE HIM WAVER

(OR DOUBTINGLY QUESTION) CONCERNING THE PROMISE OF GOD,

BUT HE GREW STRONG AND WAS EMPOWERED BY FAITH

AS," HE OPENED UP HIS MOUTH AND SAID SOMETHING THAT WAS

GOING TO RELEASE HIS FAITH.

HE'S WAITING, DOUBT IS COMING, QUESTIONS ARE COMING, WAVERING

IS COMING, IT'S ATTACKING HIM.

AND HE OPENS UP HIS MOUTH, AND GIVES PRAISE

AND GLORY TO GOD.

"GOD, I PRAISE YOU AND I THANK YOU THAT I HAVE A PROMISE

FROM YOU.

AND I THANK YOU, GOD, THAT YOU ARE NOT A MAN THAT YOU

SHOULD LIE.

I KNOW, GOD, THAT YOU'RE WORKING, AND I BELIEVE

THAT I WILL SEE THE OUTCOME OF MY FAITH."

I'M TELLING YOU WHAT, WE DO A LOT OF TALKING, BUT I WONDER

HOW MANY IN THIS ROOM ARE TALKING ABOUT

THE RIGHT THING AT THE RIGHT TIME.

USUALLY WHAT WE DO WHEN WE HAVE PROBLEMS, WE CALL UP A FRIEND

AND GRUMBLE.

WE CALL UP SOMEBODY WE KNOW AND WE MURMUR.

WE WANT EVERYBODY TO FEEL SORRY FOR US, WHICH IS COMFORTING

THE FLESH, BUT DOES US NO SPIRITUAL GOOD WHATSOEVER,

AMEN?

YOU KNOW, SOMETIMES LIFTING UP THAT SHIELD OF FAITH TAKES

A LITTLE MORE OF AN EFFORT THAN MAYBE THAT WE WOULD LIKE

TO MAKE BECAUSE YOU NEVER KNOW HOW MANY TIMES A DAY

YOU'RE GOING TO HAVE TO PICK THE THING UP, KEEP THE DEVIL'S

FIERY DARTS AWAY FROM YOU.

EVERYTHING THAT GOD ASKS US TO DO IS NOT EASY.

HE GAVE US THE SHIELD, BUT YOU KNOW WHAT I WOULD GET

IF I DID THIS LONG ENOUGH?

I WOULD GET A MUSCLE IN THIS RIGHT ARM.

AND THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT SOME OF US NEED.

WE NEED MORE MUSCLES FROM USING OUR FAITH, HALLELUJAH.

HE GREW STRONG IN FAITH AS HE GAVE PRAISE AND GLORY TO GOD,

NOT AS HE MURMURED AND GRUMBLED AND COMPLAINED.

WE HAVE TO START SAYING SOMETHING IN OUR STORMS

THAT'S GOING TO DO US SOME GOOD, AND NOT JUST TALK

ABOUT THE STORM.

THE BIBLE SAYS WE CAN SPEAK TO THE MOUNTAIN.

IT DOESN'T SAY TALK ABOUT THE MOUNTAIN, IT SAYS SPEAK

TO IT AND TELL IT WHERE TO GO.

HALLELUJAH.

YOU HAVE POWER IN YOUR MOUTH.

THE POWER OF LIFE AND DEATH IS IN YOUR TONGUE.

IT'S ONE THING TO SOUND CHURCHY IN CHURCH.

IT'S ANOTHER THING WHEN YOU'RE BY YOURSELF

IN YOUR MIDNIGHT HOUR, AND YOU FEEL LIKE ALL HELL

IS COMING AGAINST YOU.

THAT'S WHEN YOU NEED TO SPEAK THE WORD.

AND YOU NEED TO SPEAK IT OUT LOUD.

AND MANY OF YOU WATCHING BY TELEVISION RIGHT NOW,

YOU'RE SITTING IN YOUR HOMES OR WATCHING ON YOUR COMPUTER

OR WHEREVER YOU'RE AT, AND I WANT YOU TO BE ENCOURAGED

TODAY THAT GOD KNOWS YOUR NEED, HE KNOWS YOUR NAME,

HE'S HEARD YOUR PRAYERS.

BUT DON'T YOU QUIT AND DON'T YOU GIVE UP BECAUSE GOD IS FAITHFUL.

GOD IS FAITHFUL, AMEN.

I DON'T THINK OUR PROBLEM IS SO MUCH WITH GOD AS IT IS

WITH US.

I THINK OUR DOUBT COMES BECAUSE WE DOUBT OURSELVES

A LOT MORE THAN WE DOUBT GOD.

WE BELIEVE GOD WOULD DO IT, BUT WE'RE NOT SURE

HE WOULD DO IT FOR US.

WE'RE EITHER GOING TO BELIEVE GOD, OR WE'RE GOING TO BELIEVE

THE ENEMY.

WE'RE GOING TO BELIEVE GOD, OR WE'RE GOING TO BELIEVE

OUR FEELINGS.

GINGER: HOW IS THAT FOR AN INSPIRATION

AND ENCOURAGEMENT FOR YOU?

YOU CAN LOOK AT DOUBT AND SAY, "I'M NOT GOING TO LET YOU

HOLD ME BACK ANYMORE.

I'M GOING TO BE BOLD, CONFIDENT,

AND COURAGEOUS."

THAT IS WHAT WE ARE OFFERING YOU TODAY, JOYCE'S TEACHING CALLED

"BOLD, CONFIDENT, AND COURAGEOUS."

BECAUSE DOUBT REALLY COMES DOWN TO FEAR, FEAR THAT WE

CAN'T TRUST, FEAR OF WHAT MIGHT HAPPEN.

BUT GOD'S WORD SAYS WE DON'T HAVE TO LIVE IN FEAR

BECAUSE HE'S SO MUCH BIGGER THAN ALL OF OUR FEARS.

THIS HAS 5 HOURS OF TEACHING THAT WILL HELP YOU UNDERSTAND

THAT, AND HELP YOU REALLY BE ABLE TO ABSORB

WHAT GOD'S WORD SAYS ABOUT IT.

YOU CAN GET IT JUST LIKE THIS, OR YOU CAN GET IT

AS A DIGITAL SERIES, BUT CALL AND ORDER YOURS RIGHT NOW

BECAUSE IT WILL HELP YOU BEGIN MOVING TO WHERE GOD

WANTS YOU TO BE.

JOYCE WILL TACKLE SELF-DOUBT COMING UP, BUT FIRST,

HERE'S WHAT'S COMING UP NEXT ON "EVERYDAY ANSWERS."

JOYCE: YOU CAN GET FREE FROM ANYTHING IF YOU'RE WILLING

TO BELIEVE, STUDY, SPEND TIME WITH GOD, FOLLOW THE LEADERSHIP

OF THE HOLY SPIRIT, AND BE WILLING, IF GOD LEADS YOU

THE HARD LONG WAY, TO LET YOUR FLESH GO AHEAD AND NOT BE

COMFORTABLE FOR A WHILE BECAUSE YOU WILL COME OUT

ON THE OTHER SIDE COMFORTABLE.

GINGER: ALL RIGHT, IT'S TIME FOR ANOTHER QUESTION.

THIS COMES FROM TWITTER AND IT SAYS,

"HOW DO YOU HANDLE SELF-DOUBT?

QUESTIONING YOUR THOUGHTS AND ACTIONS

IN EVERY SINGLE SITUATION AND SCENARIO."

WELL, WE UNDERSTAND THAT.

WE ALL HAVE THOSE FEELINGS OF SELF-DOUBT.

THAT TAKES US BACK TO OUR GLASS OF WATER.

SO, IS IT HALF EMPTY OR HALF FULL?

OUR PERSPECTIVE DOESN'T CHANGE WHAT IT IS, BUT IT CAN MAKE US

THINK THAT WE CAN'T DRINK THIS WATER BECAUSE THERE'S

NOT MUCH LEFT, OR IT CAN TELL US THERE'S PLENTY AND THERE'S

ENOUGH FOR ME TO ENJOY.

SO, OUR PERSPECTIVE MAKES A BIG DIFFERENCE

ON OUR OUTLOOK ON LIFE.

THAT'S WHY THIS QUESTION IS SUCH A BIG ONE.

AND THIS EXAMPLE OF PERSPECTIVE BECOMES CLEAR AS YOU LISTEN

TO JOYCE'S ANSWER TO: HOW DO I DEAL WITH SELF-DOUBT?

JOYCE: "LET US THEN THEREFORE FEARLESSLY AND CONFIDENTLY

AND BOLDLY," WHOO, HALLELUJAH.

"BECAUSE HE UNDERSTANDS THAT WE ARE NOT PERFECT, LET US THEN

FEARLESSLY AND CONFIDENTLY AND BOLDLY DRAW NEAR

TO THE THRONE OF HIS GRACE THAT WE MIGHT RECEIVE THE HELP

THAT WE NEED IN PLENTY OF TIME TO GET US OUT OF TROUBLE."

BUT HOW DO YOU COME?

BOLDLY, BOLDLY.

WELL, THAT'S HARD TO DO WHEN YOU'VE BEEN BAD, ISN'T IT?

WHEN WE'VE BEEN BAD, WE GO, "OH GOD."

[MUMBLING]

BUT THE FIRST THING YOU DO IS REPENT, "GOD, I'M SORRY

FOR MY SINS.

I'M SO SORRY, PLEASE FORGIVE ME.

AND NOW, IN OBEDIENCE TO YOUR WORD, I'M GOING TO PRAY

ABOUT MY SITUATION.

I'M GOING TO DO IT BOLDLY BECAUSE I KNOW I'M NOT GOING

TO GET ANYTHING FROM YOU AS A COWARD."

WE HAVE TO LEARN HOW TO BE BOLD BY FAITH, BE CONFIDENT BY FAITH,

BE FEARLESS BY FAITH.

SELF-DOUBT.

WHAT GOES ON IN YOUR MIND?

DO YOU JUDGE EVERY MOVE THAT YOU MAKE?

"OH, I SHOULDN'T HAVE DONE THAT.

I SHOULDN'T HAVE SAID THAT.

I SHOULDN'T HAVE BOUGHT THAT.

I SHOULDN'T HAVE GONE THERE.

I SHOULDN'T HAVE EATEN THAT."

I TELL YOU, I--

[AUDIENCE LAUGHING]

JOYCE: WE NEED TO STOP DOING THINGS THAT WE KNOW

WE'RE GOING TO BE SORRY FOR WHILE WE'RE DOING IT.

SOON AS YOU SWALLOW THE LAST BITE, THEN HERE COMES

THE CONDEMNATION, "OH, I SHOULDN'T HAVE EATEN THAT."

I MEAN, THINK ABOUT IT BEFORE YOU EAT IT, AND IF YOU

WANT TO EAT IT, EAT IT IN FAITH AND DON'T BE SORRY YOU DID IT.

AND IF YOU CAN'T EAT IT IN FAITH AND ENJOY IT, THEN LEAVE IT

ALONE AND DON'T EAT IT TO START WITH.

I MEAN, GOD'S REALLY BEEN TEACHING ME THAT.

DON'T DO STUFF, AND THEN TURN AROUND AND WISH YOU

WOULDN'T HAVE.

IF YOU'RE GOING TO DO IT, ENJOY IT, OTHERWISE DON'T DO IT.

AND ALL WE HAVE TO DO IS HAVE A LITTLE BETTER PLANNING

AND KNOW THAT WE CAN'T SAY YES TO OURSELF ALL THE TIME,

BUT WE CAN SOMETIMES.

HEY, AFTER I DO THESE CONFERENCES,

I ALWAYS HAVE DESSERT.

AND I PLAN IT, IT'S LIKE I HAVEN'T FIGURED OUT WHAT I'M

GOING TO HAVE WHEN I GET HOME YET, BUT I WILL HAVE SOMETHING.

BUT I DON'T DO IT EVERY DAY OR THREE TIMES A DAY.

THERE'S NOTHING WRONG WITH HAVING PLEASURE IN LIFE,

BUT YOU CAN'T JUST LIVE ON PLEASURE AND NEVER PARTAKE

OF THE DISCIPLINE YOU HAVE TO PARTAKE OF IN ORDER TO BE

A BALANCED PERSON.

"OH, I DIDN'T PRAY LONG ENOUGH.

OH, YOU KNOW, I PRAYED, BUT I DIDN'T PRAY LONG ENOUGH.

AND I'M SURE I DIDN'T PRAY IT RIGHT.

AND, YOU KNOW, I DID READ A CHAPTER IN THE BIBLE, BUT I

DON'T REMEMBER WHAT I READ, AND I PROBABLY READ

THE WRONG CHAPTER ANYWAY.

AND OH MY GOSH, JOYCE SAYS WE GOT TO CONFESS THE WORD, AND I

DIDN'T CONFESS THE WORD YET TODAY, AND HERE IT IS BEDTIME.

AND WELL, YOU KNOW, FAILED AGAIN.

AND OH, I DIDN'T HUG MY KIDS TODAY.

THERE'S ONE OF THOSE BUMPER STICKERS, 'HAVE YOU

HUGGED YOUR KID TODAY?' NOW THAT MAKES ME FEEL GUILTY

BECAUSE NO, I DIDN'T HUG MY KID YET TODAY."

COME ON, WE ALL KNOW WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT.

"OH, I SPENT TOO MUCH AT THE GROCERY STORE.

I TALKED TOO MUCH.

I SHOULD BE QUIETER.

I'M NOT, I'M NOT, I SHOULDN'T, I'M NOT, I'M NOT."

YOU KNOW WHAT?

YOU GOT TO GET OVER JUDGING YOURSELF FOR EVERY SINGLE THING

THAT YOU DO AND START HAVING SOME CONFIDENCE, AMEN?

[AUDIENCE APPLAUDING]

JOYCE: I LOVE PAUL'S ATTITUDE.

LET'S LOOK AT 1 CORINTHIANS CHAPTER 4.

PAUL WAS BEING JUDGED AS TO WHETHER OR NOT HE WAS

A FAITHFUL APOSTLE.

AND I WANT YOU TO HEAR

HIS RESPONSE, VERSE 3.

1 CORINTHIANS 4, VERSE 3, "BUT [AS FOR ME PERSONALLY], IT

MATTERS VERY LITTLE TO ME THAT I SHOULD BE PUT ON TRIAL BY YOU

[ON THIS POINT] AND THAT YOU OR ANY OTHER HUMAN TRIBUNAL

SHOULD INVESTIGATE AND QUESTION AND CROSS-QUESTION ME.

I DO NOT EVEN PUT MYSELF ON TRIAL AND JUDGE MYSELF."

NOW, THERE'S FREEDOM.

THERE IS FREEDOM RIGHT THERE.

HE SAID, "I'M NOT MENTALLY EXAMINING EVERY MOVE

THAT I MAKE, TRYING TO DECIDE IF IT'S RIGHT OR WRONG."

YOU KNOW WHAT HE GOES ON TO SAY?

"I'M NOT CONSCIOUS OF ANYTHING AGAINST MYSELF AND I FEEL

BLAMELESS, BUT I'M NOT VINDICATED AND ACQUITTED

BEFORE GOD JUST BECAUSE I FEEL BLAMELESS.

IT'S THE LORD [HIMSELF]

WHO EXAMINES AND JUDGES ME."

I LOVE THAT.

HE SAID, "I DON'T KNOW IF I'M GUILTY OF ANYTHING OR NOT.

I DON'T FEEL LIKE I AM, BUT WHO KNOWS, I MIGHT BE.

HOWEVER, I'M NOT GOING TO LIVE IN THAT REALM OF EXAMINING

EVERY MOVE THAT I MAKE, AND JUDGING MYSELF

AND CRITICIZING MYSELF.

I AM GOING TO TRUST GOD THAT IF I'M DOING SOMETHING

THAT HE REALLY DOESN'T LIKE, THAT HE WILL BRING

ENOUGH CONVICTION IN MY LIFE TO GET THE POINT ACROSS TO ME,

AND HE WILL DEAL WITH ME IN SUCH A WAY

THAT I WILL STOP DOING IT."

THERE'S FREEDOM IN THE HOUSE TODAY, AMEN.

I KNOW THERE'S GOT TO BE SOME PEOPLE HERE TODAY

THAT YOU ARE JUST TIRED OF HEARING WHAT YOU'RE NOT,

AND WHAT YOU SHOULD'VE THAT YOU DIDN'T OF, AND WHAT YOU

DID THAT YOU SHOULDN'T HAVE.

AND YOU'RE JUST LIKE, "DEVIL, SHUT UP."

BUT YOU KNOW WHAT?

HE'S NEVER GOING TO STOP HAVING AN EFFECT ON ANY PERSON

WHO DOESN'T KNOW WHO THEY ARE IN CHRIST.

YOU HAVE TO KNOW THAT GOD LOVES YOU, AND HE DOESN'T LOVE YOU

BECAUSE YOU DO EVERYTHING RIGHT.

HE LOVES YOU BECAUSE YOU WANT TO DO WHAT'S RIGHT.

GOD LOVES YOU AND HE CARES ABOUT YOU BECAUSE YOU'RE OPEN

TO TRUTH, BECAUSE YOU WANT TO KNOW THE TRUTH, BECAUSE YOU

WANT TO LEARN, BECAUSE YOU WANT TO GROW.

"WELL, YEAH, BUT THIS MORNING, I GOT IMPATIENT

WITH ONE OF MY FRIENDS WHILE I WAS ON MY WAY.

AND, YOU KNOW, WHEN I WAS TRYING TO PARK, I GOT

A LITTLE BIT NASTY WITH SOMEBODY OUT THERE.

YOU KNOW, THEN I GOT KIND OF FRUSTRATED OUT IN THE--

AT THE RESOURCE TABLES, AND SOME LADY SHOVED ME,

AND I WANTED TO KNOCK HER DOWN.

I MEAN, AFTER ALL, WHAT KIND OF A CHRISTIAN AM I?

I JUST--IT'S NOT GOING TO DO ME ANY GOOD TO BE HERE.

I DOUBT I'M GOING TO GET ANYTHING OUT OF THIS.

I DOUBT, I DOUBT, I DOUBT."

WELL, THAT'S WHEN YOU NEED TO GO GET YOUR SHIELD OF FAITH

AND SAY, "WAIT A MINUTE, I BELIEVE THAT GOD IS PLEASED

WITH ME.

AND HE UNDERSTANDS MY WEAKNESSES AND MY INFIRMITIES BECAUSE

HE'S BEEN TEMPTED IN ALL POINTS JUST LIKE I HAVE,

YET HE NEVER SINNED.

I HAVE JESUS IN MY LIFE BECAUSE I'M NOT PERFECT."

COME ON, I'M TRYING TO TAKE SOME PRESSURE OFF SOME PEOPLE

TODAY.

MATTHEW 3:16, "NOW WHEN JESUS WAS BAPTIZED, HE WENT UP

AT ONE SIDE OF THE WATER, AND BEHOLD, THE HEAVENS

WERE OPENED.

AND HE [JOHN], SAW THE SPIRIT OF GOD DESCENDING

LIKE A DOVE AND LIGHTING UPON HIM.

AND BEHOLD, A VOICE FROM HEAVEN SAID, 'THIS IS MY BELOVED SON,

IN WHOM I DELIGHT!'" NOW AGAIN,

THIS SAME THING HAPPENED ON THE MOUNT OF TRANSFIGURATION.

A VOICE CAME OUT FROM HEAVEN SAYING, ONCE AGAIN,

"THIS IS MY BELOVED SON, IN WHOM I DELIGHT.

HEAR HIM."

SO, WE SEE TWICE IN THE LIFE OF JESUS

THOSE WORDS COME FROM HEAVEN, "THIS IS MY BELOVED SON,

IN WHOM I AM WELL PLEASED."

SO, YOU KNOW, WE CAN KIND OF UNDERSTAND THAT

AND GET THAT BECAUSE AFTER ALL, THAT WAS PERFECT JESUS.

BUT I CAN TELL YOU THAT IF HE NEEDED TO HEAR THAT,

IF HE NEEDED TO HEAR THAT FOR CONFIDENCE AND AFFIRMATION,

HOW MUCH MORE DO WE NEED TO HEAR THAT FOR CONFIDENCE

AND AFFIRMATION?

WHAT IF JESUS WOULD HAVE SAID, "OH NO, NO"?

COME ON, I DARE YOU TO LOOK AT YOURSELF IN THE MIRROR

EVERY MORNING AND SAY, "GOD LIVES IN THIS SUIT OF CLOTHES.

[AUDIENCE APPLAUDING]

JOYCE: GOD LIVES IN ME.

I'M A PARTNER WITH GOD.

HE SENT HIS SON TO DIE FOR ME, AND I DECLARE BOLDLY

THAT ALTHOUGH I DON'T DO EVERYTHING PERFECTLY RIGHT

AND I'M LIKELY TO MAKE SOME MISTAKES TODAY,

GOD IS PLEASED WITH ME."

COME ON, YOU GOT THAT MUCH COURAGE?

DO YOU HAVE THAT MUCH COURAGE, CAN YOU DO THAT?

AND I KNOW RIGHT NOW, SOME OF YOU

ARE ALREADY CRINGING.

IT'S LIKE...

DON'T YOU FEEL IT?

THE SHRIVELING UP...

THERE'S THE DEVIL TRYING TO SHRIVEL UP YOUR SPIRIT,

YOU KNOW, LIKE...

"BUT HOW CAN I SAY THAT WITH THE THINGS THAT I DID?"

I DIDN'T SAY GOD'S PLEASED WITH ALL YOUR BEHAVIOR.

GINGER: WELL, DOUBT MAY BE NATURAL, BUT GOD IS

SUPERNATURAL.

HE GOES BEYOND DOUBT AND YOU CAN TRUST HIM.

YOU CAN BE BOLD AND CONFIDENT AND COURAGEOUS BECAUSE OF WHO HE

IS, AND WE HAVE A TEACHING CALLED JUST THAT.

JOYCE'S TEACHING, "BOLD, CONFIDENT, AND COURAGEOUS,"

WILL TELL YOU HOW TO DO THINGS

IN THE FACE OF FEAR OR DOUBT, HOW TO ACCOMPLISH WHAT YOU NEED

TO ACCOMPLISH, AND ESPECIALLY WHAT GOD

HAS IN MIND FOR YOU.

THESE 5 HOURS OF TEACHING ON THIS SERIES WILL REALLY HELP

YOU STEP OUT IN FAITH.

YOU CAN GET IT DIGITALLY AS WELL IF YOU LIKE, SO MAKE SURE

THAT YOU PICK THIS UP TODAY BECAUSE THOSE DOUBTS

ARE HOLDING YOU BACK FROM PLACES AND THINGS THAT GOD WANTS

TO BLESS YOU WITH.

PICK THIS UP AND FIND OUT FOR YOURSELF RIGHT NOW.

IF YOU HAVE QUESTIONS FOR JOYCE,

YOU KNOW, WE REALIZE THAT SOME OF YOU ARE DEALING

WITH SOME REALLY TOUGH CIRCUMSTANCES.

LIFE IS HARD SOMETIMES, AND IT MAY BE DIFFICULT TO BELIEVE

THAT GOD WILL HELP YOU, BUT HE IS FAITHFUL.

YOU CAN TRUST HIM EVEN IN THE FACE OF DOUBT.

HE IS THERE WITH YOU TODAY, AND HE'LL BE WITH YOU TOMORROW.

The Sun's Benefits Go Way Beyond Vitamin D - Duration: 11:49.

The Sun's Benefits Go Way Beyond Vitamin D

The sun has got his hat on, our moods feel lighter and we are gripped by a desire to

soak up some solar rays.

But no, we keep being told: the threat of skin cancer makes this potentially lethal.

Now, however, scientists are discovering a positive side to sun-worshipping.

Getting a good dose of sunshine is statistically going to make us live longer, healthier and

happier lives.

Emerging research indicates that sunlight may protect us against a wide range of lethal

or disabling conditions, such as obesity, heart attacks, strokes, asthma, and multiple

sclerosis.

Sunshine has also been shown to boost our libidos and general mood.

This is not simply about vitamin D -- which our skin manufactures from sunlight.

The vitamin helps us build healthy bones and teeth and may protect against bowel cancer.

But new research indicates that solar rays benefit our bodies in multiple other ways.

Scientists now believe, for example, that exposure to sun prompts our bodies to produce

nitric oxide, a chemical that helps protect our cardiovascular system -- and the feelgood

brain-chemical serotonin.

Avoiding the Sun's Rays is a Misinformed Trend Causing Global Rise in Cancers

LACK OF SUN AS BAD AS SMOKING

A major clue about sunshine's benefits has emerged from a study of nearly 30,000 Swedish

women whose sunbathing habits have been followed for 20 years.

In March investigators, from the world-renowned Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, concluded

that avoiding the sun is actually as bad for you as smoking.

The study, in the Journal of Internal Medicine, found that 1.5 women in 100 who reported they

had the highest exposure to ultraviolet light (by sunbathing up to once a day) were found

to have died during the two decades, compared with three in 100 for women who said they

had avoided sunbathing.

The avid sunbathers had a significantly lower risk of death from cardiovascular disease

and other conditions that were not related to cancer, the research explains.

Dr Pelle Lindqvist, the epidemiologist who led the study, says the research also found

that:

'Non-smokers who avoided the sun had a life expectancy similar to smokers in the highest

sun exposure group, indicating that avoiding the sun is a risk factor for death of a similar

magnitude to smoking.'

OLDER PEOPLE NEED MORE

Dr Richard Weller, senior lecturer in dermatology at Edinburgh University, last year published

a report in the journal Maturitas warning that older people in particular need to get

into the sun more.

'Advice on healthy sun exposure needs to be reconsidered,' he urges.

'The older population are particularly sun-deprived as shown by low blood levels of vitamin D

and lack of outdoor activity.'

He adds that there is a reduction in cardiovascular disease and deaths from all causes with increased

sun exposure.

Two years ago, Dr Weller's team established that exposure to sunlight may lower people's

blood pressure and thus cut their risk of heart attack and stroke.

This benefit has nothing to do with vitamin D.

Instead, it is due to the fact that when our skin is exposed to the sun a compound -- called

nitric oxide -- is released in our blood vessels which in turn lowers blood pressure by causing

blood vessels to widen.

Dr Weller told Good Health:

'It also appears that sunlight alters the way that our genes behave.

Last year, Cambridge University scientists showed that the expression of 28 per cent

of our entire genetic make-up varies from season to season.'

SUN HELPS REDUCE INFLAMMATION

The Cambridge investigators reported in the journal Nature Communications that in winter

we increase the activity of inflammatory immune-system genes -- to combat infectious bugs -- and

in summer we increase the activity of anti-inflammatory genes.

Chronic inflammation is linked to modern epidemics such as heart attacks, diabetes and cancer.

Such inflammation results from our immune systems fighting infectious invaders.

But this comes at a cost -- as the tissue damage caused by long-term inflammation can

itself cause disease.

The Cambridge research indicates that sunlight may prompt our bodies to switch down the inflammatory

response.

'As well as nitric oxide and gene expression, I think there will be other factors that we

have yet to discover,' says Dr Weller.

'There is a correlation between more sun and less disease in a variety of conditions such

as multiple sclerosis and atherosclerosis (where arteries are clogged by fatty substances

known as atheroma).'

However, the causal link is yet to be shown.

MAY STOP YOU GETTING FAT

Scientists are discovering sunlight may even help us keep slim and healthy, according to

studies by the Universities of Southampton and Edinburgh that kept mice on high-fat diets

while they were exposed to the spectrum of ultraviolet light found in sunshine.

The results show that ultraviolet radiation may suppress the development of obesity and

the symptoms of type 2 diabetes.

These benefits were again independent of the effects of vitamin D, the researchers report

in the journal Diabetes in 2014.

Instead they believe the effects are again as a result of the sun boosting production

of nitric oxide.

The suggestion is that without enough nitric oxide in the bloodstream, insulin may not

work properly, allowing diabetes to set in.

Other research indicates that being exposed to plentiful sunlight may reduce our risk

of stroke.

Epidemiologists have used weather-satellite records to determine how much sunlight more

than 16,000 people living across the U.S. individually experienced over a period of

15 years.

The University of Alabama analysis revealed that the more sunshine someone experienced,

the lower their risk of stroke.

The study in the journal, Annals of Neurology in 2013, called for further research.

We all tend to feel happier when the sun is out, and this is not simply a matter of morale.

Research shows that the main wavelength of light in sunlight stimulates sensors in our

retina which regulate our body clock.

This in turn regulates the amount of melatonin, the sleep hormone, that our bodies release.

Studies such as a report by Sweden's Uppsala University last month in the journal PLOS

One show disruption of melatonin levels is linked to depression, Alzheimer's and Parkinson's

disease.

CAN HELP KIDS' EYESIGHT

Lack of sunlight has physical effects on children, too.

A study by the Australian Research Council's Centre of Excellence in Vision Science in

2009 found those who spend most of their time indoors have a significantly increased incidence

of 'high myopia'.

The researchers believe that the neurotransmitter dopamine is responsible.

It is known to inhibit the excessive eyeball growth that causes myopia.

Sunshine causes the retina to release more dopamine.

Sunlight also lifts men's libidos, according to an Austrian study of 2,299 men published

in 2010.

Hormone experts at the University of Gratz discovered that the men's levels of the male

sex hormone testosterone peak in the month of August, and fall in the winter, hitting

their lowest levels in March.

MAY HELP YOU LIVE LONGER

Could such physical benefits actually outweigh the risk of developing skin cancer?

The official NHS guidance clearly says not.

'There is no safe or healthy way to get a tan from sunlight,' it states, adding that

we should try to stay in the shade between 11am and 3pm from March to October, to cover

up with suitable clothing and sunglasses during these times, and to use at least SPF15 sunscreen.

Dr Weller ackowledges that people who live in sunnier climates have more skin cancer,

because solar radiation mutates DNA and generates free radicals that may cause cancers to develop.

But, he argues, we have no proof that sunlight shortens life.

'In fact, the epidemiology suggests that overall, people who have more sunlight tend to live

longer, even though their population gets more skin cancer.'

Dr Weller is supported by Martin Feelisch, the professor of experimental medicine at

Southampton University who has also been studying sunshine's role in keeping us healthy -- in

particular the effect of sunlight-stimulated nitric oxide to protect our cardiovascular

systems by lowering blood pressure.

Professor Feelisch warns that avoiding sunlight or using sunblock constantly could be a new

risk factor for heart disease -- and more people die from heart disease than skin cancer.

'We believe current public health advice, which is dominated by concerns of skin cancer,

needs to be carefully reassessed,' he argues.

'It's time to look at the balance of risk for skin cancer and cardiovascular disease.'

He does not recommend, however, that we spend hours sunbathing.

Meanwhile, Dr Lindqvist, the author of the new Swedish study, says:

'We know in our population, there are three big lifestyle factors [that endanger health]:

smoking, being overweight, and inactivity.

'Now we know there is a fourth -- avoiding sun exposure.'

WHEN TO USE SUNSCREEN

We should also be more sparing in our use of sunscreen as it may block the benefits

of sunshine, Dr Lindqvist says.

'If you're using it to be out longer in the sun, you're using it in the wrong manner.

However, if you are stuck on a boat and have to be out, it's probably better to have sunscreen

than not to have it.'

Thanks to our new scientific appreciation of sun, the balance does seem to need redressing

towards enjoying it in healthy moderation.

My name is Scott Thorton

I'm at the Shoot Smart Range in Grand Prairie Texas

We get alot of

We actually get alot of kids the come in here that play video games

Like Counter-Strike for example

They come in; they play video games and they want to shoot real firearms

and they find out it is alot different in reality then it is on the game

the difference is pretty significant

Are you nervous about shooting your first gun?

Yeah a bit

You're nervous?

yeah

Who do you think is going to win?

Scream I think

It's the One Tap man

They know me as the head shot machine

They talk about my One Taps

I don't know

I miss three bullets so I'm pretty sad

but it was the first time so

We will see how XMS does

How did you do?

It was good

I think the guys enjoyed it

Like really

They seemed like kids

and uh

RPK wants to come by Sunday with his family so

I think he enjoyed it

We get customer from all over the world to come here and shoot

and these guys did really well

They did pretty well for the first time considering

that most of these guys never held a firearm in their life

How was the first time shooting a gun?

It was really really good

To be honest before we started shooting I was a bit nervous

but as I said it's like when you do your first roller coaster

You're nervous

and this is the same thing

A pretty good experience

I never thought it was like this

but its more difficult than it is in game

shooting with a mouse is more easy

You don't have to be careful with the recoil and etc.

Yeah I lost against XMS

I don't know

It's his first time. My first time so

It's a good experience

Yeah he was better this time but

I think I will get revenge

Combine Sounds! -- DONG - Duration: 4:15.

Why hello there. You look fantastic today.

Ya know sometimes when I'm out of toilet paper I think what if I had a papertoilet.com

Which is a DONG, something that you can do online now guys.

Boy have EYE got a DONG for you.

You can't see it but that was an eyeball pun.

Try moving your mouse around.

Look it follows you!

Even if you go here.

Or up here.

Or here or here or here or here.

Whoa where did that come from!

With all eyes on you it's obvious that you're attractive but if you're attracted to arachnids

check out

Spider.

On this site your mouse is a spider and its size depends on the position.

The higher up the smaller and the lower the larger.

It's kind of a relaxing...OH NO!!!

An unidentifiable animal is trying to attack me!

But if you know what it is let me know in the comments.

Like the eyeballs it follows you wherever you go.

Run.

RUN!

Stop.

Please stop.

Wait...are you gonna actually do something?

Alright I'll just slooowly...slowly...ah! Excuse me.

That's right you walk away!

Let's run away to

ISS Photo Explorer.

Over the last fifteen years the International Space Station has taken over 1.6 million photos

and you can see them on this site.

It's really cool to see how vastly different the photos of Earth can look depending on

where you right click.

Select this icon for a larger photo and smaller globe.

This one rotates to the current location of the ISS and takes you to the photo nearest

Hovering over each of these gives you details about missions like Mission ISS006 which lasted

154 days and captured 43,436 photographs.

Now let's FLOWtograph into

Vortex Shedding Fluid Simulation.

Vortex shedding occurs when a fluid flows past a bluff which in this case is the sphere.

This creates alternating downstream vortices and these depend on the size and shape of

the object.

So you'll notice a difference when moving the sphere around versus when you just click.

Now I won't FORCE you to go to

Physics experiment but I will recommend it just like it was recommended to us on the

DONG Twitter account by @spyce_tewan.

It lets you manipulate factors that affect the movement of the square.

The lower the gravity is the more it floats around.

And with too much friction it will barely move at all but when you lower it and increase

the elasticity it happily bounces around like a cute little

Wandering Tattler or a Streak-backed Oriole on Bird Sounds.

The three creators of this site have collected thousands of bird sounds and compiled them

on this website.

You can type in a type of bird in the search box but if you don't have one in mind just

scroll over them.

There's nothing more pleasant than the call of a Cackling Goose followed by that of the

Thick Billed Parrot and the Red Throated Loon.

And listen to this.

It sounds like the roar of a lion but I ain't Lyin' when I tell you

Nsynth: Sound Maker is worth your time.

It's simple to use and creates sounds as beautiful as that Red Throated Loon.

Read up on how it works here to see how it mixes two sounds together.

The example given is a flute and a bass which sounds like this.

But to create your own hybrid of sounds click play and choose from each category.

Haven't you always wanted to hear a cat mixed with an organ?

Sliding this scale will determine how much organ you here or how much cat.

And you can experiment with the notes down here.

Open your ears wide for this.

Now swap gears to

Swappy.

In this game the goal is to swap tiles to line up as many of the same number as you

can.

It will walk you through at first but you're a pro so let's move on.

If you're super skilled you can knock out two numbers at once.

If there isn't enough room to generate three new tiles the game is over.

But that's okay because you can still crush it at

Word whip where you will be given a series of letters and blank boxes.

Your job is to create as many words with the given spaces and letters.

Sometimes you might frantically make up words and it'll make you feel bad but that's

okay because you'll just get the next one and feel as amazing as you deserve to feel.

Links to all the DONGs can be found in the description below and if

you want more in your life ya know what there is? A playlist right here

filled with them. I'm uhh...I'm gonna go stare at you for about 5 seconds.

And as always, thanks for watching.

ALERT: CNN Caught Spreading FAKE NEWS About Congressional Baseball Game - Duration: 2:35.

CNN is the propaganda wing of the Democrat Party.

The very fake news network is attempting to cause division at a time when Americans of

all stripes are coming together.

Republicans and Democrats came together to pray over second base for Representative Steve

Scalise (R-LA), last night.

However, CNN reported that only Democrats prayed.

They did not correct their mistake for over 13 hours! (via Todd Starnes).

You can see CNN's correction to the original report claiming only Democrats prayed.

The original, incorrect tweet, was allowed to spread for hours before it was deleted.

The bipartisan congressional baseball game was allowed to proceed last night in spite

of the recent attack on the Republican practice by a Democrat shooter.

House Majority Whip Steve Scalise and five others were injured in the shooting, and Scalise

is still in critical condition.

Representative Scalise was shot in the hip while standing on second base.

It was a bright moment of bipartisan support when players for both parties came together

to pray for Scalise.

Members of Congress prayed at second base; over the exact spot where Scalise was shot.

However, if you received your news from CNN you would think only Democrats came together

to pray and that Republicans scorned their injured colleague.

This is the latest strategy being deployed by lying news agencies to spread their false

narratives.

In this instance, CNN releases a tweet containing inflammatory and blatantly false allegations

about President Trump or Republicans.

The fake tweet will receive a rush of attention as liberals feel validated in their irrational

After the fake news has spread, the lying mainstream will tweet a correction and say

The incorrect tweet will spread across liberal media and the correction will be ignored.

The so-called news agency can promote their false narrative — and fall back on their

Journalistic integrity is dead in the mainstream media.

The dying media outlets are willing to do anything to gain attention, garner ratings,

How to say CAN and CAN'T in British and American English - Duration: 8:53.

Hi!

This video's about how we pronounce the words 'can' and 'can't' in British and

American English.

She means can and can't.

Can and can't.

Yeah, can and can't.

I'm Vicki and I'm British.

And I'm Jay and I'm American.

We've received requests for a video on how we pronounce these two words.

I'm not surprised.

Sometimes Vicki doesn't understand me.

Yeah.

I don't want you to see.

I can't see.

Oh well let me try again.

Why?

I can't see.

Do you mean you can or you can't see?

I can't see.

When Jay says can't, sometimes I think he's saying can.

It's hard to hear the difference, but don't worry.

We'll go step by step and show you how we pronounce these two words.

Let's start with the word 'can'.

We both pronounce it in two ways.

Strongly – can, and weakly - c'n.

See if you can hear the difference.

Can you hear me?

Yes, I can.

Can you hear me?

Yes I can.

C'n...

C'n you hear me?

That's weak.

Yes I can.

Can.

That's strong.

Jay and I both say can and c'n.

C'n...

C'n you hear me?

C'n...

C'n you hear me?

C'n.

It links with the next word.

It links with the next word.

C'n you...

C'n you hear me?

There's no gap.

But notice, that when we give a short answer, we both say 'can' strongly.

Yes, I can.

Yes, I can.

Can is longer and higher in pitch.

It's stressed.

So what's happening here?

Well, normally when we're speaking, we pronounce 'can' weakly.

C'n.

But If we're emphasizing can and stressing the word, we use the strong form.

Can.

Can't you hear me?

No, I CAN hear you.

We always use the strong form in short answers.

Can you hear me?

Yes, I can.

Cnn you hear me?

Yes I can.

Did you hear the difference between can (c'n) and can there?

OK.

Great.

Now let's look at 'can't'.

Can't is pronounced differently in British and American.

Yes.

I say can't.

And I say can't.

That's different.

Listen.

Can't.

Can't.

Can't.

Can't.

It's a different vowel sound.

Did you hear it?

Can't.

Can't.

Can't.

Can't.

So what happens when we use 'can't' in a sentence?

Let's look at some examples.

Jay had surgery on his hand this week.

I can't open jars.

And I can't chop.

Oh, but I can write.

That's because I'm left handed.

Listen carefully to how Jay says 'can't' here.

When we write 'can't', it ends with a 't'.

But does Jay pronounce the 't'?

I can't open jars.

There was no 't' sound!

I can't open jars.

I can't see.

No 't' sound!

Jay puts a stop on the word so it ends suddenly and the 't' disappears.

See if you can hear the difference.

Can.

Can't.

Can.

Can't.

Can.

Can't.

They sound similar, don't they?

But can't is a little shorter.

It ends more suddenly.

Can.

Can't.

Now what about British English?

Here's how I say it.

He can't open jars.

You can hear the t sound.

It connects can't and open and links the two words together.

Can't-open.

He can't open jars.

The t sound gets added to the next word.

OK, another example.

But this one's different.

Hello.

Hello.

I can't hear you.

Oh!

Did you hear a 't' sound there?

Listen again.

I can't hear you.

I didn't pronounce the 't'!

Sometimes in British English, we're like Americans.

We don't pronounce the 't'.

I can't hear you.

So what's happening here?

Often in spoken English, we don't pronounce the final t sound clearly in negative words

that end 'nt.

So words like can't, don't and won't become can('t), don('t), and won('t).

The t sound can disappear when we're speaking.

This happens a lot in American English.

And it sometimes happens in British English too.

So instead of saying don't we say don('t).

I don('t) know.

I don('t) know.

And instead of saying won't we say won('t).

No, I won('t).

No, I won('t).

And the same thing happens with can't.

Instead of saying can't we say can('t).

We just say /n/ at the end.

Can('t).

Can('t).

It's a quick /n/ sound.

Try it.

/n/ /n/.

The sound is in your nose.

In British English, we generally pronounce our t sounds more clearly than Americans,

especially if we're speaking carefully.

But when we're speaking casually and informally, we often don't say them – just like Americans.

I can('t).

I can('t).

In British English, sometimes we say the 't' and sometimes we don't.

I can't see.

I can('t) see.

So shall we review?

Yeah.

In British and American English, when we say 'I can do it', can sounds like c'n.

That's right.

And in American, when you say 'I can't do it', 'can't' sounds like 'can'.

That's right.

'I can't do it.'

So in American English can is c'n and can't is can(t).

That's right.

Can('t.)

American English is hard!

No, it's easy!

What do you think?

We have more videos on differences between British and American English and if you click

here you can see some.

And make sure you subscribe to our channel because we produce a new video every week.

Happy studying everyone!

-Bye.

Bye.

Elliot Teaches Kids 10 French And English Words | Train Picture And Word Puzzles - Duration: 5:12.

Elliot - Hi there, welcome to myABCdad.

My name is Craig and this here is...

Elliot - Elliot.

And today Elliot and I are going to be...

Well the other day, Elliot in a recent video, he shared 10 different items from a fantastic train set

that he built and he shared the English and French words for each of them didn't you?

So today what Elliot and I are going to do

is we're going to take those ten items and we've created a picture and word puzzle in French...

and... Do you want to show yours?

...in English. And we'll be cutting them up and cutting up the pieces and then gluing them

around this fantastic train that I created. So we hope you join us for that and...

Elliot - We'll see you soon.

Let's get started.

Elliot - Let's get started. Let's get started! Nope, let's try that again.

And we will see you... ahhh nope and...

Elliot - Let's get started.

Let's get started!

Which word puzzle would you like to do Elliot?

Elliot - The French.

Okay Elliot, let's go.

The first one I have created here is 'station'.

Elliot - The first one I found is vvv... oo... aa... ture...

Okay, you want to read that a bit more fluently now?

Elliot - Voiture.

Lovely and what does that mean in English?

Elliot - A car.

Okay and this one is 'bridge'. And there's a picture of a bridge.

How do we say 'bridge' in French?

Elliot - Un pont.

Train. How do we say 'a train' in French?

Elliot - Un train.

What's next?

Okay, what does that say?

Elliot - Camion.

Can you put your finger beneath to read it?

Elliot - C... camion.

Comment tu dit en anglais, 'camion'?

Elliot - A truck.

Qu'est-ce que c'est en français? Elliot Un pompier.

And how do you say that in English? Elliot - A fireman.

Elliot G... arrrr. Qu'est-ce que c'est en français?

Elliot - Gare. Okay and more fluently.

Elliot - Gare. Okay, lovely. And how do we say that in English?

Elliot - Station. Okay, great.

I like the way you rolled your R as well Elliot. I have a very tough time doing that.

Elliot - RRRRRRR... That is incredible, I have to say.

And look what I've got here. And this one is quite nice one to sound out because if

you just use the sounds, individual sounds it's quite easy to sound out what that is.

B - U - S and then you glue those together, bus...

How do we say 'bus' again in French? Elliot - Bus.

Elliot - Pont. Qu'est-ce que c'est en anglais?

Elliot - A bridge. And I have fireman. And how do we say 'fireman'

again in French? Elliot - Pompier.

Okay, what's next? I've put together 'truck'.

Truck.

Comment tu dit 'truck' en français?

Elliot - Camion.

Elliot - I put together 'tunnel'.

Comment tu dit 'tunnel' en anglais?

Elliot - A tunnel.

Elliot - A train.

And how do you say that in French?

Elliot - Train.

So you roll the R again?

Elliot - Trrr... ain. Trrr... ain.

So there I have 'track'. How do we say 'track' in French?

Elliot - Un morceau de rail.

Elliot - I did a motor. Moteur.

Elliot - And there's my final piece, is 'morceau de rail'.

Elliot - And there we go.

There we go. Now we're going to colour our trains in.

Elliot - There.

How about a low five Elliot? A big low five!

Elliot - No a two low five.

Two low fives.

Yeah!

Okay everybody that concludes this video session today where Elliot and I...

What did we do today Elliot? Elliot - Make pictures and word puzzles.

What were the words all about?

Elliot - About trains.

About trains. What languages were the words in?

Elliot - English.

English, and what was the other one?

Elliot - French.

So we hope you enjoyed that and...

Elliot - We'll see you soon.

We'll see you soon. Bye.

Elliot - Bye.

How to Communicate With Our Pets and Honour Their Soul Purpose - tech and science - Duration: 12:51.

How to Communicate With Our Pets and Honour Their Soul Purpose

Everyone on this Earth is here for a reason.

Everyone here has a purpose, as does everything in Nature; a gift or a contribution to share

with the rest of the world.

And this could not be more true for our pets!

As we share our lives with our animal friends, it is important for us to recognize and honour

their specific soul purpose and longing for being here.

What is it that they would like to share with the world?

What is their gift, and their contribution?

What is it that makes them truly happy?

Like us, the answer is: whatever comes naturally to them.

Simply paying attention to their unique personality is often enough to give us a pretty clear

impression of what their soul purpose is.

But we can also tune into their energy as well as communicate directly with our pets,

and take our relationships with them to higher levels of understanding and communion.

Sidda and Chubs

Ill use my dog, Sidda, as an example.

Sidda is a blue heeler/german shepherd cross who has been in my life for almost 12 years

now.

She is a sweet, gentle soul who has seen me through my most intense periods of growth,

and I know that it was not by accident that she and I were connected.

Through marriage, babies, divorce, moving, another marriage, parenting, self-discovery

and awareness, becoming a writer etc she certainly has had her paws full!

Together we have experienced moments of pure joy and happiness, as well as moments of profound

grief and frustration.

Sidda is a nurturer, or a healer.

No matter who she is around, her calming energy gives comfort.

My barn cats regularly come to Sidda for her love and attention, have their wounds licked,

or simply just to sleep beside her.

Sidda has also become like a mother to my 3 year old Great Pyranese, Chubs.

Chubs often has runny eyes and Sidda licks them clean for him several times a day.

But, although Sidda is incredibly loving to everyone on my farm and within my family,

her loyalties are to me.

Where I go, she goes.

When I have communicated with her, she has told me that she is here to take care of me.

She has also expressed concern for my wellbeing after she is no longer here.

I now make an extra effort to thank her for all of her unconditional love and care that

she has given me over the years.

And even though she can not accompany me around the farm as often as she would like to, due

to her age, I still let her know that she is doing a wonderful job taking care of me.

And I try to spend special alone time with her when I can, as I know how important it

is for the both of us.

My other dog, Chubs, is a protector, or a guardian.

He takes great pride in patrolling the perimeters of my farm and can often be found in the cattle

pens, keeping a watchful eye on my cows.

This brings me great comfort as there is a wolf who has been making regular visits to

my farm these days.

Not to mention, there is the added comfort of knowing hes keeping an eye on my yard

from human intruders as well the kind who would like to borrow things and not return

them!

Beyond being the guardian of our territory, Chubs also takes his role as protector of

my children very seriously.

Every weekday morning he escorts my 2 oldest kids to the end of our lane and waits with

them until the school bus arrives.

When I have communicated with Chubs, he has let me know how much he likes to run ahead

of my truck as I drive over to the cattle pens to check my cows, so I always try to

let him lead the way.

He also let me know how much he enjoys when my husband returns home on the weekends, which

is easy to understand as my husband gives him lots of attention and belly rubs.

They seem to have a special manly bond.

We all want to contribute and we all need a purpose.

Recognizing and appreciating that need in our pets can establish an even deeper bond

and level of understanding between us.

Some may be here to comfort, others for protection, to nurture, or to be playful and lighten the

mood of those around them or for a combination of all of these.

Animal Communication Exercises

Here is an exercise that you can try either in the presence of your pet or not, it really

doesnt matter.

That is the beauty of animal communication: they are telepathic, so a connection is easy

to make.

From a relaxed state, after inhaling and exhaling a few deep breaths, feel your love for your

pet in your heart.

Spend a few moments in this awareness.

Picture them in your mind.

If you are with your pet, you can place a hand upon them, but you want both you and

your pet to be relaxed.

I also like to sometimes rest my forehead upon their forehead.

I feel a strong, calming connection with my dogs during this time.

Now grow this feeling of love and appreciation.

Feel this love expand out from you until you are surrounded in this beautiful feeling.

You can imagine it as a specific colour too if you like, such as pink or green.

Now imagine your pet.

Imagine their energy, their light, surrounding them.

Wait a moment, and then imagine your energies merging and blending together in a bubble,

or being joined together by a cord.

Ask them if you could ask a question, or if there is anything that they would like you

to know.

You do not have to speak out loud, as they are telepathic and will hear you loud and

clear.

It is probable that their answer will be in the form of pictures, much like a movie, as

that is often how they communicate.

But you may hear their words as well.

For me, Sidda communicates with her voice, which is lovely and sweet, like she is.

And for Chubs, he communicates with pictures.

He simply shows me what he is thinking, and it is easy for me to understand him that way.

This place of love and understanding is a beautiful space to tell your pet how much

you appreciate them, and show them pictures of all of the things they do that you love

and appreciate about them.

If you have just recently adopted this pet, it would be nice to let them know that this

will be their forever home and that they can relax.

Sometimes animals also become frustrated because they are unsure of what we want from them,

so perhaps letting them know that you want them to be happy would be a comfort to them

as well.

If you are having behavioural issues with your pet, be sure not to picture what you

are not happy with, as this will confuse them.

Instead, focus on their good behaviour or on what you woud like to see.

For example, do not picture them relieving themselves on your carpet.

Picture them relieving themselves outside, or if you have a cat, in a litterbox.

If communication doesnt happen easily at first, dont worry.

Using our intuition is like a muscle that needs to be worked and practiced.

Patience is important here as this is a form of communication that animals often dont

expect us to use.

They will likely be a little surprised and caught off guard by you the first time.

Try not to overthink the process, and with most answers from our intuition, the first

one is usually the correct one.

Feel with your heart and use your imagination.

Sometimes just the intent that you would like to talk with your pet is enough to have their

message come through and this even works for pets who have already passed on.

A Dog Named Hobo

Not long ago I had a dog named Hobo.

I had found him abandoned on the side of the road as a pup.

Several years ago he developed a lump on his side and a few days later he went missing.

I knew in my heart that he had found a peaceful place to leave this world, but I couldnt

find him anywhere.

So one night before bed, I stated in my mind, Hobo, I love you and miss you, and I would

like to say goodbye to you. That night I had a dream of him.

He walked up to me in the dream, wagging his tail, looking happy and healthy.

I petted him and hugged him and then loaded him up in the back of my truck so that he

could have a ride with his face in the breeze, which was something he always loved to do.

I was so grateful for that dream as it gave me peace.

Not long after that, I did find Hobo.

He was laying peacefully beneath an oak tree in my pasture.

I buried him beneath that oak tree.

He and Sidda had been very close, as I had got them only a couple of months apart.

Sidda has also let me know how she still misses him.

Its interesting though, because Chubs in many ways is very similar to Hobo and has,

in a sense, taken over the same responsibilities here on my farm.

Sharing Grief

I came back to my family farm almost 8 years ago, and moved into an empty house on my grandparents

yard.

I enjoyed living close to my grandparents for a couple of years before health problems

forced them both to move into care homes.

My grandpa always had dogs throughout his entire life, and they were always incredibly

loyal to him.

He always talked to them and showed them lots of love.

So, when he had to leave the farm due to his advanced Alzheimers, I was heartbroken,

and so was his loyal dog, Trixer.

She became very depressed and wouldnt leave her house.

My heart ached for her.

I went over to her house and sat with her one evening, and as my tears disappeared into

her thick, black coat, I told her how I understood how she missed my grandpa, and how I missed

him too.

I assured her that I loved her and would be there for her, and that, when she was ready,

she would be welcome over on the other side of the yard at my house, and that I could

use her help there.

After a few days, I was starting to give up hope that Trixer would ever come around.

She had never let anyone pet her but my grandpa, and I began to worry that she would just stay

hiding out, waiting for his return that would never come.

But then she surprised me; one day she walked over to my house, wagging her tail, and came

straight up to me.

I cried tears of joy for the life that was once again in her eyes.

I petted her and made sure to tell her and my other dogs, Sidda and Hobo, that this was

Trixers home now too.

Trixer became as loyal to me as she had been to my grandpa.

It felt like we were grieving for him together, and healing together as well.

We were giving one another hope and comfort.

Trixer only lived for another 6 months after grandpa went into care, but it was a special

time that I will never forget.

She walked with me faithfully, wherever I went, and followed my all-terrain vehicle

across the pastures as I checked my cattle.

She seemed to become like a pup again that summer.

But, one cool morning, late in the fall, she was not outside my front door as she usually

was.

I found her in her old dog house over by my grandpas old house.

She looked tired, and I knew that she would pass soon.

I could feel that her heart was playing out.

The next day, I found her sleeping near my garden.

She let me know that she wanted to move on so that she could be there for my grandpa

when his time comes.

I stayed with her as much as I could, and that evening she passed on while in my arms.

As I held her body, I noticed that she had chosen the only point in the whole yard where

you can see both my grandpas house, and mine.

She was wanting to look out for both of us, even as she passed.

My grandpa passed within the year.

I buried Trixer beneath an oak tree that overlooks my garden, and I will often take a break from

my work there and sit in the shade of the oak, thinking of Trixer and thanking her for

the wonderful gifts that she gave me.

Last Thoughts

There is no wrong way to communicate with your pet, so dont be afraid to experiment

or tweak things until you find what feels right for you.

And dont be surprised if you start to receive their messages even when you are not trying.

Once the pathways are opened, communication can flow.

Your pet is with you for a reason.

You have chosen one another.

So have fun and enjoy honouring your pet and their beautiful purpose here and their shared

journey with you!

♫ ♫ ♫ [upbeat jazz music]

It goes beyond just my relationship with my son, although he's 3 and 3 months

now and loves music. We have him playing the piano almost every day, and he has a

music class that he goes to, and actually his mommy is leading now that he does

once a week. But every night what we do with him is present the Berlin

Philharmonic to him, because you can stream a lot of those concerts. And so he

literally will get a chopstick and act as if it's a conducting stick, and he says

"I want to be...I want to be like Simon Rattle," and so he imitates Simon

Rattle conducting all these pieces. It's adorable, but I really...it's really

important for me to instill that love of music. He doesn't have to be a

professional musician but it is important to me that he loves the

art form because both his mommy and his daddy love the art form, as well. And it

goes beyond that though, because my parents are musicians as well.

I studied piano with my dad until I came to Juilliard, and so they were able to

sort of pass on that tradition to me and I believed so much in in the art form

that I'm very happy to do the same for Caleb.
