Elite Facts Presents

7 Strange Food Myths We Still Believe

7.

Organic food is automatically healthy So anything deemed "Organic" genuinely

get's a free pass, You know, like everything with the label is automatically good for you.

The truth be told however is that organic snacks are still snacks, Meaning they can

still potentially be bad for you.

Eating them in excess isn't suddenly OK because they meet the requirements for an organic

label.

"Organic chocolate syrup is still chocolate syrup," Caroline Kaufman, R.D., tells SELF.

Organic cookies, crackers, chips, and candies have the same amount of sugar, fat, and empty

calories as non-organic versions.

When it comes to produce, choosing organic versions of the "dirty dozen"—the foods

that typically have the highest amount of pesticides on them—is a good way to cut

back on chemical exposure.

But Kaufman adds that conventionally grown produce is still safe to eat, since it's monitored

to ensure pesticide residue stays below a certain limit.

6.

Milk makes your bones stronger "Remember Billy to drink your milk to be

just as strong as your father".

Well we hate to break it to you little billy but it's not milk that's making your dad

so strong.

He might need a drug test.

So Everyone knows that drinking milk helps strengthen your bones, allowing you to grow

up big and strong.

After all, calcium is good for you and milk is rich in calcium.

The truth however may be a bit more convoluted that that unfortunately.

Sweden's Uppsala University recently released the results of a huge study following 61,400

women and 45,300 men.

Researchers spent years tracking the diet of both groups, then monitored the women's

health for a further 20 years and the men's health for 11 years.

The results from the experiment revealed that drinking milk was associated with higher mortality

rates for both sexes and higher chances of bone fractures for Female consumers.

Women who drank at least three glasses of milk a day were twice as likely to have died

by the end of the study and 50 percent more likely to have suffered a hip fracture.

During an interview with the BBC, The head of this research project, Karl Michaelsson

suggested that the results could be explained by milk sugars, lactose and galactose, which

have been shown to accelerate aging processes like inflammation and oxidative stress.

What's interesting about this experiment is that while drinking lots of milk seemed

to increase the likelihood of a bone fracture, study participants who ate lots of yogurt

and other fermented dairy products actually were much less likely to sustain a bone fracture.

Fermentation is known to significantly decrease the lactose content of dairy products.

Meanwhile, scientists at Harvard University reviewed 25 years of data and concluded that

there is no significant evidence to suggest that drinking milk helps keep people safe

from osteoporosis.

There are also concerns that heavy milk intake may increase the risk of prostate and ovarian

cancer.

The university's School of Public Health cautions against the currently recommended

2–3 glasses of milk a day, a level of consumption which has not been shown to reduce bone problems

and probably comes with increased health risks.

According to Harvard, a glass of milk every day or so is indeed a good source of calcium,

but anything more than that is probably just overkill.

5.

Egg Yolks are bad for you Whoever told you this is a liar!

A damn, dirty liar!

So the myth comes from the belief that Dietary Cholesterol raises our blood cholesterol levels.

This is false as It's become clearer that saturated fats and trans fats are more influential

in raising blood cholesterol levels.

And while eggs—the yolks included—are high in cholesterol, they are relatively low

in saturated fats.

Lots of research has been done in recent years, and the verdict is that the entire egg can

actually be a part of a healthy diet and in most people, do not significantly impact cholesterol

levels or heart disease risk.

4.

Natural Sugar is better than added sugar.

Yeah we hate to break it to you but it kind of isn't.

To put it simple, Sugar is still sugar.

On a molecular level, the sugar in an apple is the same as the sugar you spoon into your

coffee cup.

There can be a difference in how our bodies break down the sugar when it's combined with

other nutrients like fiber and protein, but simply being natural doesn't cut it.

Sugar in a whole fruit comes with fiber and helps slow digestion and prevent blood sugar

spikes.

Now admittedly that is better than sugar that comes void of other nutrients, However, when

you squeeze out the juice and drink it, or eat maple syrup, agave syrup, or honey, your

body reacts the same way it would to table sugar or the sugar in a normal can of full

fat Coke.

3.

Energy Drinks Energize you So it turns out that energy drinks false advertise

their products.

Somehow that doesn't seem surprising.

Despite the name, Energy drinks are a very ineffective way of giving yourself energy.

Most energy drinks are a mixture of sugar and caffeine, with an amino acid called taurine

thrown in for good measure.

Some also contain a South American plant called guarana, but that's actually just another

source of caffeine.

A few energy drinks boast of including ginseng and B-vitamins, but they typically don't

contain enough of either to have any real impact.

Since the supposed effects of taurine on concentration and athletic performance remain controversial,

it's hard to assess its inclusion in energy drinks.

When it all boils down to it, The only major ingredients in these drinks are caffeine and

sugar..

Sugar does give you a short energy burst, but it doesn't last long and is usually

followed by a crash.

So to put it simply, all you're really doing is you're simply borrowing energy from yourself

in the future.

As you'd probably expect, Heavy sugar consumption is also strongly associated with weight gain

and other health problems.

Studies have also shown that people who consume 2–3 energy drinks per day (seriously how

can you guys do that?

It's almost impressive) might be getting as much as 4–6 times their recommended daily

sugar allowance from the drinks alone.

Caffeine is more effective at giving a feeling of increased energy without a severe crash

afterward.

Unfortunately, you have to drink a lot of it to get the full energizing effects, which

is why energy drinks are usually packed with it.

That's a problem, since one of the ways caffeine boosts energy is by blocking the

adenosine receptors in your brain, preventing feelings of sleepiness.

These effects can last up to 12 hours, meaning that heavy caffeine usage can cause you to

get insomnia.

It's also associated with high blood pressure and an increased heart rate.

So instead of risking your health by consuming energy drink in order to energize yourself,

All we can really recommend for your is to start following

a good diet plan, exercise regularly , and adapt an adequate sleep pattern.

And if you need a little boost on top of that, then the occasional energy drink certainly

won't kill you.

2.

Low Fat Variations are better than the full fat versions

If you're still buying low-fat varieties of naturally fatty foods, you might be doing

yourself a disservice.

"Fat is a necessary part of a healthy diet.

You need fat in your diet.

Fat is not bad.

Fat does not go directly to your hips," Caroline Kaufman, R.D reassures.

Any extra calories you eat that your body can't use can be converted into body fat,

not just dietary fat.

Fat is more densely caloric, though, which is both a blessing and a curse.

Kaufman would go on and say that "Because fat is so rich in calories, it is also very

satisfying.

That's good because ideally it means you could mindfully eat or

use a small amount to feel full,".

This also means you need to watch your portion sizes.

When fat is removed from foods, it's usually replaced by sugar or salt, so it's important

to read the ingredients list before choosing the adulterated version.

Usually, you're better off eating a small serving of the full-fat kind so you actually

enjoy it and feel satiated.

1.

Margarine is a million times better than butter …..Come on.

I never understood this.

Sure Margarine is slightly better than butter but the fact the people would throw a tantrum

if you bought butter instead of margarine is just ridiculous!

SORRY MOTHER BUT IT'S TRUE!

Anyway, Margarine is definitely better for you when compared to butter, however, many

different brands of margarine actually contain trans fats, which are worse for you than the

naturally occurring saturated fat in butter.

Butter's ingredient list is short and sweet and doesn't contain extra ingredients to make

up for lack of taste.

Not all fake butter is bad, but you have to be cautious about what you're buying.

Any other strange myths that you know of?

Five Things Twin Flames Are Not - Duration: 7:46.

Five Things Twin Flames Are Not

by Tamara Maat,

I never wanted to meet my twin flame

The idea was scary and intimidating; I had just broken up with someone I was thinking

might be the one, but later turned out to be a false twin.

In no way was I prepared to bring myself the pain that comes along with such a relationship,

or so I thought.

March 20, 2015, I met him despite all my resistance.

It was new moon, solar eclipse, and one day before spring equinox.

I shouldve known that day wasnt going to bring me just a new acquaintance.

Fast forward and it has been more than two years now.

It has been a tough ride for my ego that is now truly dying, mainly because of my sacred

twin-flame (TF) journey.

I did not choose the path of being a Twin Flame coach, but I have obviously signed up

to it on soul level.

Through talking about and reading a lot on TFs, I have come to know that many have a

desperate need for the fairy tale from such a surface level that, I cant put it in

a pretty way, ruins everything.

When a person is still looking outside themself for happiness, they become blinded by the

need.

Without learning well, people simplify the sacred relationship and subconsciously give

the title to anyone they are emotionally attached to.

From my readings and bombardments of spiritual evidence that this aforementioned man is my

Twin Flame, I have come to learn what TFs are and what they are not.

This can be summed up in the following five points:

They Dont Manifest Out of Egoistic Need.

TFs do not manifest when we look for them consciously and out of ego.

The timing of this relationship is purely and utterly divine, calculated carefully according

to the twins spiritual-growth journey.

If one thinks their TF is the only person to make them happy, they are totally off track.

On the contrary, initially, that person gains the biggest power over them, making them their

most miserable self.

TFs trigger the deepest wounds within ourselves that we have had no idea existed.

Our only hope is in knowing we are our own savior and happiness.

Once connected to this idea, we truly call for our twin.

No meditation or visualization helps unless they are for us to better ourselves.

A manifest TF is for an old soul that has become mature enough to understand and be

able to deal with such experience.

Only once we have grown enough, truly, does our Twin Flame come into our life.

They Are Not Multiple.

Simply, such a divine relationship cant be an orgy.

Some might become a bit defensive, so lets resort to a little logic.

Knowing that twins share the same soul, and building on Person As belief that B, C,

D and E are all his/her twins:

Lets see

A=B, A=C, A=D, A=E

Therefore:

A=B=C=D=E

We have got five twins!

This opposes all the mythology and all the ancient sources on TFs.

It is always only Isis and Osiris, Hathor and Horus, Adam and Eve, etc.

Recalling the concept of Trinity, we know it is only Feminine and Masculine on the base

of the triangle, reaching up to God on top.

It is again the egoistic need that creates such a mess, a result of attempting to validate

being attached to more than one soul mate or karmic partner, making excuses for all

those person that they are just doing their mirroring job.

They Dont Separate, Not Really.

TFs never separate since they are created, and once they have met physically, any separation

is mere illusion on earthly level.

They are always together spiritually, if not also mentally and emotionally.

They have an unbreakable connection; there is no cord that can be cut.

This person is the manifested reflection of ourselves.

How does one break up with or disconnect to themself?

We can use that energy of running away from the perceived pain to heal ourselves instead.

They Cannot Be Replaced.

If the mirror is showing us something ugly, we need to realize that this is a reflection

of the self.

I was stunned a while ago when I found an alleged twin-flame guru post that.

She claimed she had grown beyond her TF who now gave her an ugly image of herself, and

she said the universe would give her a cooler, prettier one to reflect all the work

she believed she had done.

How can we change our self?

Our own self does not change.

It cannot be replaced.

Should we reach a difficult place with our Twin Flame (God knows Ive been there, several

times!) and they show us the worst version of themselves, we need to use such seemingly

dreadful experience to find and heal the mirrored aspects within ourselves.

Self victimization is never the solution and I contend it is why many TFs remain separated

for ages.

They Cannot Not Unite.

Last but not least, many circulate the claim that TFs only exist to mirror each other and

that they dont have to eventually unite.

This cannot be true, for two reasons.

First, once a person has tried a TF connection, they cant settle for less.

It is such an upgrade that leaves one unsatisfied on all levels if they attempt to connect to

a different human being.

I know of many who have closed up sexually after having been with their TF, no matter

how highly-sexed they had been before or still were.

Second, and more importantly, this relationship is the biggest mission for the couple on Earth,

and being it is not just for the sake of making a romantic story succeed, but for all humanity

to heal and transcend.

This relationship is Holy Trinity on Earth.

That day is bound to come.

Overall, discernment is required at every moment living in this relationship till finally

united and stable.

False Twin Flame concepts only makes the couple hindered from their individual growth, and

accordingly from the magic of the most sacred human relationship.

The Real Reason This Keeps Getting Removed From Games - Duration: 5:44.

Recently there's been a lot of discussion regarding the use of Nazi iconography, such

as the swastika, in games.

The upcoming Call of Duty: WW2 is being marketed as a Historically Accurate portrayal of the

war, yet fans noticed that none of the footage seen so far has used any swastikas, instead

choosing symbols such as the iron cross instead.

On the other hand, the recently announced Wolfenstein 2 has already shown that it will

not be holding back when it comes to its depiction of the German forces.

This raised the question of whether Call of Duty will for some reason not be using this

historical symbol.

The Call of Duty series has actually been removing the symbol from the games for many

years now, for example, Censored Gaming reported a few weeks back about how the remastered

maps in the new Black Ops III DLC, Zombies Chronicles, had removed every single use of

the symbol.

However, in an interview with Sledgehammer Games CEO, it has been revealed that, despite

their absence in trailers, they will still be contained in the single player but not

the multiplayer.

The reason given being due to rules and regulations of certain parts of the world and wanting

all regions to be able to play online together.

The region that they are talking about is Germany and is based on the video game industry's

previous bad experiences with a certain German law

This video will go into what exactly the issue is and why these symbols keep getting removed

from games.

Our story all begins back in 1945 and post-war Germany.

Following losing the war, the Allies started a process called Denazification.

This initiative set out to get rid of any remaining traces of Nazism in German society,

with, of course, the intention of never allowing the atrocities of the war to happen again.

One effect of this was the creation of section 86a in the German criminal code, this section

titled "Use of Symbols of Unconstitutional Organizations".

Unconstitutional organizations refer to the Nazis and other similar outlawed groups.

Whilst there's no precise list of the affected symbols, the law states that these can include

"flags, insignia, uniforms, slogans and forms of greetings".

Additionally, any symbols which are so similar that they could be mistaken for these shall

be treated equally.

The law also states that anybody found guilty of domestically distributing or publicly using

these symbols, as well as anybody who produces, stocks, imports or exports with the intention

of doing this, will be punished with imprisonment for no more than three years or a fine.

So already you should be able to start to see where the problems are coming from.

However, there's still much more to it that and it could be argued that games should not

be having the issues that they are having and here's why.

Scrolling up to the start of Section 86 and then down to subsection 1, you'll notice that

an exception in the law is made for and I quote:

"If the means of propaganda or the act serves to further civil enlightenment, to avert unconstitutional

aims, to promote art or science, research or teaching, reporting about current historical

events or similar purposes."

Now this exception is exactly why Germany is far from a swastika-free zone.

All Germans are taught about the war in school, for example, and at any time are able to turn

on the TV and see documentaries and such about the war, which include these symbols.

In fact, even movies are allowed to freely show them.

Remember the law states that an exception is made where they are used for art purposes

and movies are seen as falling under this due to their artistic nature.

So, why then, if they are allowed to be shown in movies, why are they not allowed to be

shown in games?

And the simple answer to that is simply that nobody has ever tried... or, at least, properly

that is.

I'd just like to thank the Steam group ForUncut for their help with this part of the video.

For Uncut are a German anti-censorship group, who are very knowledgeable about German law.

Now, the legal issues over in Germany all started back in 1994 with the game Wolfenstein

3D.

Like modern entries in the series, the title contains many forms of Nazi themes and it

was the first game to ever be banned by the German courts for the use of symbols of unconstitutional

organizations.

Following this, other games have also been found to have violated these laws, including

Wolfenstein from 2009.

However, not a single case has ever considered the exceptions mentioned earlier in Subsection

1 of the German criminal code, which allows the symbols to be used in other media such

as movies.

To quote a discussion I had with ForUncut: "The cited judgments are controversial.

Shortly after the rendition of the Wolfenstein 3D judgment, there was criticism, and meanwhile

legal experts unanimously assume that publishers could successfully defend themselves against

these no longer up-to-date judgments, if they summoned the courage to defend themselves

in a court with the help of the social adequacy clause in regards to artistic freedom.

The reality, however, is that the developers and publishers of the games are concerned

because they do not seem to see any success in that alternative or fear of being labelled

as nazi advocates and that they would consequently suffer substantial damage to their image.

Instead, they would prefer to resort to expensive adjustments for German versions or even censor

these symbols globally.

However, all they would be doing is claiming their right to protection under the social

adequacy clause - as used by the film industry."

So, to summarise, it is thought that if a publisher simply tried to defend their use

of the symbols, it would not only get approved by the courts but would then set a precedent

for future titles as well.

But, so far no publisher has been willing to do this.

Thus, unless things change, German gamers will continue to get special censored versions

made for them that remove anything that could cause issues.

Additionally, we will continue to see some games that make changes worldwide instead,

like the upcoming Call of Duty: WW2 multiplayer.

However, hopefully from this video you have now learnt a few new things about why it is

that these things happen and how things could be changed for the better.

Until next time, thank you watching.

Is Trump launching a new New World Order - Duration: 22:50.

Is Trump launching a new New World Order

That Donald Trump is a grand disruptor when it comes to international affairs is now a

commonplace observation in the establishment media.

By snubbing NATO and withdrawing from the Paris climate agreement, weve been told,

President Trump is dismantling the liberal world order created by Franklin D. Roosevelt

at the end of World War II.

Present at the Destruction is the way Foreign Affairs magazine, the flagship publication

of the Council on Foreign Relations, put it on its latest cover.

Similar headlines can be found on the editorial pages of the New York Times and the Washington

Post.

But these prophecies of impending global disorder miss a crucial point: in his own quixotic

way, Donald Trump is not only trying to obliterate the existing world order, but also attempting

to lay the foundations for a new one, a world in which fossil-fuel powers will contend for

supremacy with post-carbon, green-energy states.

This grand strategic design is evident in virtually everything Trump has done at home

and abroad.

Domestically, hes pulled out all the stops in attempting to cripple the rise of alternative

energy and ensure the perpetuation of a carbon-dominated economy.

Abroad, he is seeking the formation of an alliance of fossil-fuel states led by the

United States, Russia, and Saudi Arabia, while attempting to isolate emerging renewable-energy

powers like Germany and China.

If his project of global realignment proceeds as imagined, the world will soon enough be

divided into two camps, each competing for power, wealth, and influence: the carbonites

on one side and the post-carbon greens on the other.

As noted in Foreign Affairs, this is a very different perception of the international

system than that of then Wilsonian internationalists, who still see a world divided between liberal

democracies (led by the U.S. and its European allies) and illiberal autocracies (led today

by Vladimir Putins Russia).

Surprisingly, it is no less distinct from the disjointed global system portrayed by

disciples of the late Harvard political scientist Samuel Huntington, author of The Clash

of Civilizations, who portrayed a world divided along civilizational lines principally

distinguished by a clash between Islam and the Judeo-Christian West.

Trump clearly has no patience with the first of these models and while hes certainly

exploited anti-Islamic sentiment during the election campaign and in his first months

in office, he does not appear wedded to the Huntington thesis either.

His loyalty seems to be reserved solely for states that produce fossil fuels, while his

disdain is largely directed at countries that favor green energy.

How you view the world which of these visions you embrace truly matters when

it comes to shaping American foreign policy.

If you favor a Wilsonian view (as do most American diplomats), your primary objective

will be to bolster ties with Great Britain, France, Germany, and other like-minded democracies

while seeking to limit the influence of illiberal autocracies like Russia, Turkey, and China.

If you uphold a Huntingtonian outlook (as do many of Trumps followers, advisers,

and appointees), your goal will be to resist the spread of Islamist movements, whether

they are backed by Shiite-majority Iran or Sunni-majority Saudi Arabia.

But if, like Trump, your view of the world is largely governed by energy preferences,

none of these other considerations matter; instead, you will lend your support to nations

that embrace fossil fuels and punish those that favor the alternatives.

Laying the groundwork for a new world order

The vigor with which Trump is pursuing this grand scheme was on full display during his

recent visit to the Middle East and Europe, as well as in his decision to withdraw from

the Paris climate accord.

In Saudi Arabia, he danced and dined with oil-drenched kings, emirs, and princes; in

Europe, he dismissed and disrespected NATO and the green-leaning European Union; at home,

he promised to eliminate any impediment to the expanded exploitation of fossil fuels,

the planet be damned.

To critics, these all appeared as separate manifestations of Trumps destructive personality;

but viewed another way, they can be seen as calculated steps aimed at bolstering the prospects

of the carbonites in the forthcoming struggle for global mastery.

Step one in this process was to revitalize the historic U.S. alliance with Saudi Arabia,

the worlds leading oil producer.

For decades, it was the cornerstoneof American policy in the Middle East, aimed at preserving

a conservative political order in the region and ensuring American access to Persian Gulf

oil.

President Obama had allowed the alliance to fray by raising the unwelcome issue of human

rights and negotiating with Iran over its nuclear enrichment program.

Trump journeyed to Riyadh in May to assure the Saudi royals that human rights concerns

would no longer be an irritant in their relations and that Washington would join them in their

drive to combat Iranian influence in the region.

We are not here to lecture, Trump insisted.

We are not here to tell other people how to live, what to do, who to be, or how to

worship.

Instead, we are here to offer partnership. As part of this partnership, he signed

a $110 billion arms sales agreement with the Saudis.

Expected additional sales over the coming decade could bring the total to $350 billion.

Many of these arms, once delivered, will be used by the Saudis in their brutal air campaign

against rebel factions in Yemen.

The Saudis claim the rebels (mostly Houthis from the countrys barren north) are receiving

weapons from Iran, thereby justifying their own attacks, but most observers agree that

such Iranian aid is limited at best.

In the meantime, the Saudi strikes are taking a heavy toll on civilians and helping to create

a humanitarian crisis that has contributed to a severe outbreak of cholera and threatens

famine on a massive scale.

While in Riyadh, Trump also discussed closer ties between American energy firms and the

Saudi oil industry, largely controlled by that countrys royal family.

The two leaders stressed the importance of investment in energy by companies in both

countries, and the importance of coordinating policies that ensure the stability of markets

and an abundance of supplies, Trump noted in a joint statement with Saudi King Salman.

Step two in this process was the enfeeblement of the NATO alliance and the European Union

(EU) most of whose members are strong supporters of the Paris climate agreement

and the improvement of U.S. relations with Russia, the worlds number two oil

producer.

So far, President Trump has been unable to make much progress on the second of these

goals, thanks to the ongoing uproar in Washington over allegations of Russian meddling in the

2016 presidential election, but he achieved spectacular success in the first during his

May 25th visit to NATO headquarters in Brussels.

He even crossed up his own advisers by switching speeches at the last moment and refusing to

commit himself to NATOs mutual defense agreement.

He refused to reassure its members of Washingtons commitment to the one-for-all, all-for-one

principle embedded in Article 5 of the NATO Treaty, obliging all member states to come

to the aid of any member under attack (although he would later made an explicit commitment

to that article during a White House press conference).

In addition, he hectored them about their failure to devote adequate resources to the

common defense.

Other American presidents have offered similar complaints, but never in such a disdainful

and dismissive manner, guaranteed to alienate key allies.

On top of this, he appeared to differ with senior NATO officials over the threat posed

to the alliances solidarity by Russian cyber attacks and political meddling, downplaying

their significance.

Trump then proceeded to further alienate Europes leaders at the final stop on his trip in Taormina,

Sicily, for a meeting of the G-7 top economies.

According to news reports, the Europeans, led by newly elected French President Emmanuel

Macron and German Chancellor Angela Merkel, sought to convince him of the urgency of remaining

in the Paris climate accord, stressing its importance to Euro-Atlantic solidarity.

If the worlds largest economic power were to pull out, the field would be left

to the Chinese, Merkel warned.

But Trump proved unyielding, claiming job promotion at home outweighed environmental

considerations.

Now China leads, said a dejected Macron, a comment that may prove prophetic.

Step three was President Trumps formal announcement of a U.S. withdrawal from the

Paris agreement in a Rose Garden ceremony on his return to the White House.

As it currently stands, that agreement would require significant reductions in U.S. emissions

of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases (GHGs), principally through curbs on the combustion

of fossil fuels.

To fulfill such obligations, President Obama pledged to constrain GHG emissions from electrical

power generation through his Clean Power Plan that, if fully implemented, would have severely

diminished the domestic use of coal.

He also mandated improvements in the efficiency of petroleum-fueled vehicles.

In repudiating the pact, Trump hopes, against all odds, to breathe new life into the domestic

coal industry (currently suffering from intensified competition from natural gas, wind, and solar

power) and reverse the trendtoward more fuel-efficient cars and trucks, thereby increasing the demand

for oil.

In announcing his decision, the president claimed, however inaccurately, that the Paris

accord would allow other countries, including China and India, to continue building coal

plants while preventing the U.S. from exploiting its own fossil-fuel assets, and so would benefit

their economies at Americas expense.

We have among the most abundant energy reserves on the planet, sufficient to lift

millions of Americas poorest workers out of poverty, he declared.

Yet, under this agreement, we are effectively putting these reserves under lock and key,

taking away the great wealth of our nation.

When speaking of the abundant energy reserves he seeks to develop, Trump was not, of course,

referring to the nations limitless wind and solar potential, but rather to its oil,

coal, and natural gas supplies.

He bragged about how coal mines were already starting to open up again and emphasized

his plans to eliminate all restrictions on drilling for oil and natural gas on federal

lands.

It will undoubtedly take years of rule-writing, judicial maneuvering, and negotiations with

Congress and the international community before the White House can fully achieve such pro-carbon

objectives.

Still, the steps already announced ensure that regulatory impediments to increased fossil

fuel consumption will be lifted and incentives of all sorts for the installation of renewable

energy obliterated.

The new trilateral axis

And keep in mind that these are only the first steps the president is considering.

Ultimately, he seems to be aiming at the creation of a new world order governed largely by energy

preferences.

From this perspective, an alliance of Russia, Saudi Arabia, and the United States makes

perfect sense.

As a start, authoritarian-minded leaders who detest liberal ideas and seek to perpetuate

the Age of Carbon now run all three countries.

They, in turn, exercise a commanding role in the global production of energy.

As the worlds three leading producers of petroleum, they account for about 38% of total

global oil output.

The U.S. and Russia are also the worlds top two producers of natural gas.

Along with Saudi Arabia, they jointly account for 41% of global gas output.

In addition, each of the three is closely linked to other major oil and gas producers:

in the case of the U.S., Canada; for Saudi Arabia, the Persian Gulf sheikhdoms (including

tiny Qatar with its giant natural gas fields which, at this very moment, the Saudi royals

are trying in a draconian fashion to dominate and subjugate); and for Russia, the former

Soviet republics of Central Asia.

All of this only adds heft to the hydrocarbon dominance of this potential trilateral alliance.

When oil and gas output from all of these countries, including Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan,

Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Turkmenistan, and the United Arab Emirates, is added to that of

the Big Three, the resulting combine controls approximately 57% of world oil output and

59% of its natural gas production.

Given that petroleum is still the worlds most valuable trade commodity and that oil

and gas together account for 60% of the worlds combined energy supply, this represents a

stupendous concentration of economic and geopolitical power.

To the degree that Trump and his top aides have articulated a grand strategic vision,

it is to bolster U.S. ties with these other petro-powers in the energy, diplomatic, and

military realm.

This means strengthening links between American energy companies and those of the other potential

alliance members, increasing diplomatic coordination, and enhancing military ties.

It also means aligning with them against their sworn enemies, as Trump has pledged to do

in the case of Saudi Arabias feud with Iran.

(Trump had hoped to collaborate with Russia in a similar manner in the war against ISIS

in Syria, but political circumstances in Washington have made that untenable for now.)

The U.S.-Saudi arm of this alliance is already strikingly in play.

Trump had clearly expected to make equal progress on Russia on entering the White House, though

his own missteps (and those of his close associates, including his son-in-law Jared Kushner) have

impeded that effort.

Soon after taking office, members of his staff instructed the State Department to begin exploring

ways to lift economic sanctions on Russia (originally imposed after that countrys

annexation of Crimea) that have prevented greater cooperation between U.S. and Russian

energy companies.

There was serious consideration by the White House to unilaterally rescind the sanctions,

Dan Fried, chief American coordinator for sanctions policy until late February, told

Yahoo News.

These efforts were stymied when it became known that Trumps newly appointed national

security advisor, Michael Flynn, had spoken privately with Russias U.S. ambassador,

Sergey Kislyak, about sanctions relief during the campaign, and lied about it in conversations

with Vice President Mike Pence and others.

Nevertheless, Trump has made no secret of his belief that the furor over Russian links

to his campaign organization is unwarranted and that the countrys interests would be

best served by significantly improved ties with Moscow.

And lest there be any question about the triangular nature of this incipient alliance, Russian

President Vladimir Putin met with Defense Minister Mohammed bin Salman, the Saudi deputy

crown prince, in Moscow just a few days after Prince Mohammed met with Trump in Riyadh.

Relations between Saudi Arabia and Russia are seeing one of their best stages at the

moment, said the prince, reported Tass, Russias state-run news agency.

As with Trumps visit to Riyadh, energy cooperation was a key feature of the Russo-Saudi

dialogue.

Agreements in the energy sphere are of high importance for our nations, Putin

declared.

There are, of course, many obstacles to Trumps plan for a petroleum-based trilateral alliance.

Although Russia and Saudi Arabia share many interests in common particularly in the

energy field where both seek to constrainproduction in order to boost prices they also differ

on many issues.

For example, Russia supports the Bashar al-Assad regime in Syria, while the Saudis want to

see him ousted; likewise, the Russians are major arms suppliers to Iran, a country the

Saudis seek to isolate.

Nevertheless, Putins meeting with Prince Mohammed in the wake of Trumps visit to

Riyadh suggests that these are impediments that might be overcome.

The outlines of a potential new global order

In his famed 1993 Clash of Civilizations essay, Samuel Huntington wrote that the

fault lines between civilizations will be the battle lines of the future, with the

divide between Islam and the West the most conspicuous among them.

Many of Donald Trumps supporters rabidly adhere to just this view, but not Trump himself

(though he is obviously no friend to Muslims).

By building an alliance of fossil-fueled states, Islamic countries included, Trump hopes to

bolster the strength of pro-carbon forces globally.

Ironically, his antics aimed at weakening the power of any incipient future green alliance

have so far had a boomerang effect, encouraging potential future green powers to bolster their

collaborative linkages and forge ahead more forcefully in dominating the planets alternative

energy future.

In this sense, he seems to be creating a self-fulfilling prophecy by pushing the green states closer

together.

Recall Merkels comment to Trump at the G-7 summit.

If the U.S. were to pull out of the Paris accord, she said, the field would be left

to the Chinese. Trump did indeed pull out, and Merkel wasted no time in turning her sights

on China.

Five days later, she hosted the Chinese prime minister, Li Keqiang, for talks in Berlin.

He then flew on to Brussels to confer with leaders of the EU.

Mutual pledges to uphold the Paris climate accord were said to be a prominent feature

of these discussions.

Possibly we will see an important shift in the China-U.S.-E.U. triangular relations,

with China and the E.U. moving closer while the U.S. and E.U. drift apart, commented

Wang Dong, assistant professor at the School of International Studies at Peking University.

Premier Li and Chancellor Merkel will likely reaffirm their commitments to upholding the

Paris agreements.

Keen to assume world leadership in the production of renewable energy, China has been making

enormous strides in the development and installation of wind and solar power.

As Keith Bradsher of the New York Times wrote in a recent report on Chinas progress in

creating large-scale floating solar panels (a technology likely to prove widely adaptable

by other countries seeking to increase their reliance on renewable energy), The project

reflects Chinas effort to reshape the world order in renewable energy as the United States

retreats.

Such technological expertise will form the infrastructure backbone needed for countries

to meet their climate goals, making China the energy partner of choice for many nations.

India is also seeking to join the A-team of leading green powers.

Once considered a stumbling block to any Paris agreement thanks to its partiality for coal-fired

power plants, India is now making giant strides in the development of renewable energy.

According to the respected environmental website Carbon Tracker, India is now expected to obtain

40% of its electricity from non-fossil fuel sources by 2022, eight years ahead of schedule.

In the process, it is already cancelling many of its plans for new coal-fired plants.

That India is moving rapidly to assert leadership in the development of green energy has also

caught the attention of Germanys Angela Merkel, who invited Indian Prime Minister

Narendra Modi to Berlin in late May for two days of talks on enhanced economic cooperation.

It is still early days, but the outlines of a potential new global order seem to be emerging,

with the fossil-fuel states battling to preserve their dominance in an era in which an ever-increasing

share of the worlds population is clearly going to embrace green energy technology (and

the massive job-creation machine that will go with it).

The events of just the first few months of Donald Trumps presidency already give us

ample food for thought on the emergence of a new bipolar energy planet, including a willful

attempt to cripple NATO; a so-far-abortive effort to forge a U.S.-Russian alliance; Washingtons

embrace of Saudi regional hegemony; and the emergence of a possible Chinese-German alliance.

Keep your eyes open for further developments along these lines.

One thing is clear: everyone on the planet will be affected by the ways in which such

reshuffled alliances and rivalries will play out.

A world dominated by petro-powers will be one in which oil is plentiful, the skies hidden

by smog, weather patterns unpredictable, coastlines receding, and drought a recurring peril.

The possibility of warfare is only likely to increaseon such a planet, as nations and

peoples fight over ever-diminishing supplies of vital resources, especially food, water,

and arable land.

A world dominated by green powers, on the other hand, is likely to be less ravaged by

war and the depredations of extreme climate change as renewable energy becomes more affordable

and available to all.

Those, like Trump, who prefer an oil-drenched planet will fight to achieve their hellish

vision, while those committed to a green future will work to reach and even exceed the goals

of the Paris agreement.

Even within the United States, an impressive lineup of cities, states, and corporations

(including Apple, Google, Tesla, Target, eBay, Adidas, Facebook, and Nike) have banded together,

in an effort dubbed We Are Still In, to implement Americas commitment to the

climate accord independently of what Washington says or does.

The choice is ours: allow the dystopian vision of Donald Trump to prevail or join with those

seeking a decent future for this and future generations.

MILEY CYRUS CAUGHT SHAPESHIFTING INTO REPTILE ON VIDEO GOES VIRAL

Miley Cyrus fans have been dealt a devastating blow after a brief moment when she shapeshifted

into a reptilian during an interview has gone viral after it was captured on video.

Reptilians are the same beings reported by many militaries and former military witnesses

for being part of the MIEC (Military Extraterrestrial Industrial Complex) in the USA.

Performing various Genetic experiments in conjunction with their notorious or allied

GRAYs: crossing the genes of Animals and Humans at the ultra-secret base of Dulce, New Mexico

in the United States of America.

Although much can be suggested in this way: but it is clear that the truth is far from

being the only concrete truth in this regard.

For, they may have a similar origin, just as terrestrial humans also have a cerebral

"part" known as the "Reptilian Brain" Reptilian Brain: The Reptilian Brain or basal brain,

or as it was called MacLean, "R-complex", is formed only by the spinal cord and the

basal portions of the forebrain.

This first level of brain organization is only capable of promoting simple reflexes,

which occurs in reptiles, so the name.

Fantastic Fly Pollinators | Pollinator Week - Duration: 2:57.

Happy Pollinator Week!

This year's pollinator week has been designated by the USDA and the Department of the Interior,

and there are lots of events happening across the country in celebration.

You can check out the link in the description to find one near you.

This year for Pollinator Week, I want to talk about a pollinator that doesn't get enough

love: flies.

We often associate flies with house flies and horse flies, but there are as many as

1,000,000 species of flies, all in the Order Diptera, though only a fraction of species

have been identified.

Of the 150 families in the Order Diptera, at least 71 feed on flowers as adults.

They visit them for the same reason as pollinators you may be more familiar with; they want to

eat the protein-rich pollen and sugary nectar the flower produces.

And as with other pollinators, they move pollen between flowers in the process.

They pollinate hundreds of flower species, if not more, including some economically important

ones.

The cocoa tree, Theobroma cacao, is pollinated by very small midges.

So without flies, we wouldn't have chocolate!

Flies have been pollinating plants for millions of years.

In fact, critters like beetles and flies were important pollinators before our beloved bees

had even evolved.

Scientists have identified flies with specialized proboscises for drinking nectar in fossils,

and a fly specimen in amber from the Mesozoic era had gymnosperm pollen clumped on it.

Many plants have evolved traits specifically to attract fly pollinators.

The Titan Arum, or Corpse Flower, Amorphophallus titanum, hit headlines many times in 2016

as specimens in botanical gardens bloomed.

They're famous both for their size, and their putrid smell, thus the common name Corpse

Flower.

And that smell serves a specific purpose, to attract pollinators like flies and beetles.

Corpse flowers are native to rainforests in Indonesia and Borneo.

But flies aren't only important pollinators in temperate and tropical areas; a 2016 study

found that in the Arctic, muscid flies are the dominant pollinator of mountain avens,

a native flower species in the genus Dryas.

These muscid flies are in the same genus as houseflies.

And even mosquitoes, one of mankind's enemies, though not a fly, are pollinators!

Only female mosquitoes feed on mammals, while male mosquitoes drink nectar and act as pollinators.

So the next time you see a fly out in the wild, don't be so quick to swat at it.

It's helping keep plants healthy and reproducing.

Thanks so much for watching.

I hope you learned a little about an unloved group of pollinators!

In recognition of pollinator week, I encourage you to get outside, plant some pollinator

friendly native plants, or even install a bee bath or bee house.

Or if you can, donate to any of the amazing organizations supporting pollinators that

are linked in the description.

I'm headed to VidCon in two days, so my next video, about Aquanaut Dr. Sylvia Earle,

will be up on Wednesday, June 28th.

If you're going to be at VidCon, let me know in the comments or over

on Twitter!

I'll see you soon.
