6 SPIRITUAL TRUTHS THAT SCIENTISTS ARE FINALLY STARTING TO UNDERSTAND

HUMANS ARE FREE For a long time, people have tried to explain

why things are the way they are.

In modern times, Scientists have been trying to surpass the knowledge passed on by Priests,

Prophets, Yogis and many other spiritual teachers since before we even started recording our

history.

Many believe Science still has a lot of catching up to do.

There are certain spiritual subjects, such as the existence of the soul, that are finally

starting to get some of the attention they deserve.

Lets talk about the 6 most common.

1.

We are spiritual beings on a human journey

We are not human beings having a spiritual experience.

We are spiritual beings having a human experience Pierre Teilhard de Chardin

We may inhabit a physical body, but that is not all we truly are.

We are consciousness energy.

An energetic consciousness made manifest in physical form.

Anyone that has studied OBEs or Astral Projection knows full well that life is not

what it seems.

There is so much more that is buried beneath the level of our consciousness that we struggle

to explain because we dont have a full scientific understanding of it yet, nor do

we have an easy way to access it at will.

(Intuition, deja vu, ESP, etc)

But, that doesnt mean those things arent real.

Like any skill or physical ability, you just have to do some research and put what youve

learned into practice to develop them.

2.

Our souls never die we just change our focus

Energy cannot be created or destroyed, it can only be changed from one form to another.

 Albert Einstein

Thanks to Quantum theory, Scientists are slowly catching up to the idea that we cannot truly

die.

Energy cannot be created and it cannot be destroyed.

It can only change from one form to another.

Death (excluding spectacular deaths) isnt instantaneous.

In fact, even in medical science its become more and more difficult to define when people

are dead.

People come back from the dead all the time.

There are even people who come back from the dead with knowledge, new languages and memories

that they never had before the experience.

3.

Everything is energy vibrating at a certain frequency

If you want to find the secrets of the universe, think in terms of energy, frequency

and vibration. Nikola Tesla

95% of the universes mass, Dark Matter, is currently invisible to our senses and internal

instruments.

These are vibrational frequencies, just like everything else that you are capable of perceiving

with your senses.

You are capable of translating these frequencies to an understandable form as well.

The first step is to know and accept that all mass is nothing but a vibration; nuclei

with electrons orbiting around them at a rate of speed creating centripetal force.

There is no such thing as solid matter.

Its just that some matter has a stronger centripetal force than others.

4.

Our thoughts create our reality

A man is but the product of his thoughts what he thinks, he becomes. Mahatma

Gandhi

This basically boils down to The Law of Attraction.

Thought power is the key to creating your reality.

Everything you perceive in the physical world has its origin in the invisible, inner world

of your thoughts and beliefs.

To become the master of your destiny, you must learn how to control the nature of your

dominant, habitual thoughts such as controlling your worries and negativity.

Worrying is simply wasting time and energy manifesting things you dont want.

By controlling your thoughts, you will be able to attract the things in life you actually

want.

5.

Time is an illusion

Time is an illusion. Albert Einstein

Einsteins belief in an undivided solid reality was clear to him, so much so that

he completely rejected the separation we experience as the moment of now.

He believed there is no true division between past and future, there is rather a single

existence.

His most descriptive testimony to this faith came when his lifelong friend Besso died.

Einstein wrote a letter to Bessos family, saying that although Besso had preceded him

in death it was of no consequence, for us physicists believe the separation between

past, present, and future is only an illusion, albeit a convincing one.

6.

Ascension does not involve going anywhere

Ascension is not about leaving the planet, getting rescued by off-world ETs or flying

up into heaven.

It is not about watching The Shift unfold online, or waiting for the external world

to provide evidence of inner change.

Ascension is a conscious choice to engage in evolution.

Ascension is a state of being.

A focus of awareness and consciousness into a higher vibrational frequency.

It is what we were created for!

To go forth and experience, and return the experiences back to Source in an infinite

loop of co-creation and mastery.

As an added bonus, here is an Episode of Spirit Science that explains

Ascension much more in depth:

Christian Dating Advice | Christian Singles | Answering Your Questions Part 1 - Duration: 5:05.

Happy Tuesday friends. Tiffany Dawn here and today we actually have the start of

a series for the week which is answering some of your questions. I love hearing

from you all in the comments and I decided to do a video series. It was

going to just be a video but it's 20 minutes long so instead you get like 4

videos this week. And we're gonna talk about some of the questions that you

guys have commented or emailed me. What is happening to my phone? ... Siri was

listening to me that whole time! Anyway that's funny. So today we're going to do

one question and then each day this week you're going to get another question and

it should be really fun. So first let me just start off with this

quick question. Victoria says ...

... Great question

Yes. It's tiffanydawn@tiffanydawn.net, and I love hearing from you.

Sometimes it takes me a little while to respond because I kind of stuck at keeping

up with my emails but I love reading them and I will write back eventually.

Um okay number one is from an email: ...

So the short answer is no. You don't have to be perfect because that's the beautiful thing about

marriage, like God uses it to bring all this stuff these character flaws and

selfishness to light and to work on us to make us more like Him. But that being

said I think there's also a balance, so there are some things that I think are

helpful to prepare for. One of the big things is that a lot of people think

that once they get married their loneliness will go away or their lust

will go away or the fact that they've been fighting so much with their

boyfriend that'll just disappear. But marriage doesn't magically fix anything. Instead marriage brings heart issues to light which can be really a painful

process, so that you can deal with them and become more like Christ. But your

loneliness isn't just going to go away, your lust isn't just going to go away,

like you're gonna have to work through those things with God whether you're

married or single. So you may as well start working on them now, you know? And

there's like the practical things. Like honestly it is so helpful if you and her

husband have a way to support yourselves after you get married - like some kind of

job, some income, somewhere to live - like that just takes so much stress off,

because the first year of marriage can be really stressful already. But as far

as like having all your ducks in a row, like there's no perfect time to get

married. One thing I really thought was I have to

be content, perfectly content, in order to get married. And I thought that

contentment meant no longer wanting to get married, like if I had a desire for a

husband, I'd blown it and God was not going to send my husband until I got

that fixed. Because so many women in the church were like, "As soon as I became

content, no longer wanted to get married, then God sent my husband." Okay

here's what I've learned. Like contentment is not about losing a desire

for something. Like in Philippians 4, you know 4:13 where Paul's like I can do all

things through Christ who gives me strength? Well the context of that verse

is he was saying I have learned that when I'm full or when I'm hungry, when I

have everything, when I have nothing, in all those situations I can be content;

I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength. And that verse really

hit me one day, because it was like, wow so when you're hungry like you don't

forget that you're hungry. And Paul's not saying I am so spiritually content that

if you offer me a juicy steak I would refuse it. No he'd be like give me that

steak; you can hear my stomach grumbling, you know? But like he learned that he

could be content anyway because contentment is not a change in

circumstance, it's not a change in what you want or losing the desire for

something; contentment is just a surrendered state of heart, and saying

God I really want to get married, but I choose to give that to you. And instead

of just running after the first guy who's somewhat decent, even though he's

really not that great and he doesn't even love you - like instead of doing that

I'm gonna say, "God I give this to you again and again." So that was a big thing

for me, like I thought I have to no longer wanna get married and then I'll

get married. No that's not true. I never lost the desire for marriage and I

really believe I became content so to speak, and that I was no longer obsessed

with like I have to get married right now and I'm miserable until I do (that's

how I was my early 20s), but I feel at 26 or 25 I became

content, where I was like I still want to get married but God I want your will

even more than I want to get married. And I love that my story is I became content

and then I was single for a few more years.

God did not just send my husband right away; instead He let me be single and

live life with Him. And you can learn more about that amazing story, because

that was such a gift to me, in my video called "To all the single girls," so I have

that linked down in the description below. So for now we will call it a break

until tomorrow. So feel free to hit that like button if you liked this video and

if you want to see more videos like this hit the subscribe button and join us

again tomorrow for the next video in this video series.

Five Tips To Get The Most Out Of Your Xiaomi Mi M365 Electric Scooter - Duration: 6:03.

Chris here back with a Xiaomi Mi M365 scooter I've been using this most

days I use this. I just park up close to town and ride into the office of studio

here with this thing and it's been going really well I've got now about 85

kilometers I think it is on the clock so far with mileage so not a lot so I just

wanted to cover a few things my you could say top five tips as an owner of

what I think you should do to get the most out of the

Mi scooter here so let's take a look so my first recommendation for a new me

scooter owner is to get the app of course this is the ninebot app that you

can find on google play store go along in here and find the vehicle settings

which is just under the setting menu go to accelerator mode now it's actually

the de-acceleration now thanks to a couple of comments in my

review people pointed out that there is in fact a problem that I wasn't aware of

affecting some older models that if you had a hundred percent battery and you

did some braking and was generating power it would cause a current overload

area and would blow a fuse or the controller box now how to help avoid

this set this two-week now I think by default it is weak I also found that

strong was braking far too strong I would never use it anyway but I did for

some time have it set on medium but now I'm using weak because I don't want any

problems a last thing I want is to not charge because of this issue now my

second tip here involves the tires they're quite susceptible because

they're filled while they offer some comfort because they absorb those little

bumps and things they are prone to getting punctures of course just like

any bike tire and I found out on the second day of owning this I've got a

thorn right about here that went through that thinner part of the rubber and gave

me a pretty much an instant flat tire I was really annoyed and I checked out on

Google and YouTube here that changing these tires is quite a mission you've

got to pull this reflective stick off the side you've got to unbolt this it's

not so easy to do so all I did is put this product in here called Slime

now this fixed the puncture I had I put about a quarter of this little small

ball in each tire that much fix the puncher but not only that it should

prevent further flats because I've used this product a lot in my mountain bike a

mountain bike a lot and I really swear by it because I feel that with this

stuff of my tires that it's just avoided so many pinch flats and punctures and

problems like that because the last thing we want to do is be 12 kilometers

away get a flat on this and then you have to push it for 12 kilometers which

is not fun and my third tip is also based on the tires as well but this time

tire pressure so what I've found out is of course a very high high pressure will

give you better speed acceleration because you has have less rolling

resistance but I noticed that it makes the ride a little too uncomfortable

because they those tires there will absorb some of those little cracks and

here in Spain some of the roads are really quite rough so going over real

rough bits bouncing around everywhere I've noticed that the initial high

pressures that I put on our made them really quite hard about three bar of

pressure in there was too much so lower that down I'd say to about 2.5 and it's

personal preference as well just find a level where you can get some comfort

that it's going to absorb some of those bumps and things that you often get a

course on the road and the fourth tip is just a little bit of maintenance here

just to make sure after about a week of use go along and check all these bolts

and everything just nip things up make sure they're all nice and tight we've

got a couple around here on the handlebars when you fold that up just

the check and make sure they're all nice and tight right here because they tend

to loosen off that's the same goes for a brand new road bike or mountain bike

that things are going to vibrate loosen off a little bit so just maintenance

routine maintenance check that things are tight on there otherwise later on

you could run into problems and that should help avoid them and my first and

final tip here is to conserve your battery if you're going somewhere that

you know is about 18 or 16 kilometres away and you're bringing the charger

with you but you want to make sure you actually

kind of arrive there then make sure you check the app have a look at your

remaining battery percent even though these of course lights up here give you

a quick idea of how much you've got go to bars there you've got about 150

percent at the moment you can see I've got a hundred and use that eco mode

where you can on the flat so double tap green light comes on eco mode will save

a lot of battery especially when it comes to acceleration because the

acceleration is going to be a lot slower it conserves battery life a little bit

better and I've been able to get close to 20 kilometers on the flat using the

Eco mode and in the normal mode I would only probably get around 13 to

14 maximum on the flat so there's a huge difference there so there we go overall

really good scooter I think the most important thing there is to focus on the

wheels that you don't get any punctures that's why I highly recommend to put

slime in there or another similar additive that you can put inside the

inner tubes to make sure that if you do get something that punches them that

would seal them up so you don't get a flat you're going to get stranded

anywhere because when I got my flat you could not use it and if you did decide

to ride on it you would end up damaging the inner tube even further and have to

replace it and getting these wheels off as I've seen on other videos online it's

going to be a real hassle the second most important would be to make sure you

just put that regenerative charging on light as you don't want to run into

problems which other owners have which I discovered later on after I first

reviewed my one there so best of luck with your scooting there on the me

scooter thanks a lot for watching this video

【English Lesson : News in Taiwan】Thank you director Chi Po-lin - Duration: 5:34.

Hi, this is JR.

Today, however, I'm sadly here to talk about devastating news that you most likely have heard of already.

The director of the documentary看見台灣 齊柏林 has passed away in a helicopter crash while filming for the sequel in Hualien on the 10th this month.

I'm personally truly sad about this

because we've lost someone who was, in terms of environmental awareness, so dedicated to make this world a better place.

And It was never just about Taiwan.

While 齊柏林 was filming for the sequel he actually scouted in different places such as New Zealand, Malaysia and China, etc.

It was always about raising awareness of environmental protection.

People who knew him describe him as a very warm, bighearted person who never used mean words against other people.

齊柏林 sacrificed a lot to pursue this dream,

not just for himself, but on behalf of everyone.

To make the first documentary, he quit his job as a civil servant 3 years right before he could have got a lifetime pension.

He mortgaged his house, he borrowed money from his friends.

Just to make sure that this documentary was going to happen.

And his efforts paid off.

In addition to winning a golden horse award, I think what mattered to him most was that

the public was truly shocked by the images he's shown in these documentaries,

and people were galvanized to step up and take more concrete measures to help protect the environment.

He was fully aware of the risk of aerial photography,

but he just couldn't live with the poor, inferior quality of using drones.

He had to do it himself.

Referring to the life-and-death moments he encountered in air, he wrote..

So when you think about it.

There are so many people out there talking about love Taiwan.

But there's so few people really out there trying to make a difference, really trying to put down-to-earth effort into changing reality.

Yet 齊柏林 was one of those people.

And knowing that he's not with us anymore is really… you know, gets me really beaten up.

It's such a great loss.

So what do you think?

How can we bring out more people like director 齊柏林?

People who are willing to make the sacrifice and make an influence..

Leave a message down below, share your thoughts, share the video..

And please do remember to subscribe to the channel.

See you guys next time.

Love. Peace.

5 Things That Old Souls Do Differently From Everyone Else - Duration: 5:05.

5 Things That Old Souls Do Differently From Everyone Else

BY GOSTICA

People who have old souls are some of the most understanding individuals of all time.

They are able to go through life taking all of what they have experienced, learned, endured

and turning it into something that almost all of us are able to relate too.

They view the world for exactly what it is, looking deeper into profound insights that

they have gained throughout the years, and are able to demonstrate just how grateful

they are to be apart of the earth.

Old souls express things that most of us are too scared to admit too, however, they somehow

make it easier on the rest of us because of how wise and understanding they are.

These five qualities to an old soul demonstrate what it means to be in tune with the world

around you and what it means to feel something more than what everyone else is able too.

1.

Only Have Select Close Friends

Old souls have a hard time being friends with literally everyone in their life.

They are only able to continue friendships with a handful of select people that have

made a very huge impact on their life.

They would rather much spend their energy on people who are able to understand their

complex ideas as well as their intense demeanor.

Its nothing personal when an old soul doesnt want to be too close of a friend to you and

its mostly because they do not want to make others feel insignificant in anyway.

2.

Critical Thinkers

Old souls tend to be some of the most intense critical thinkers out of all of their friends.

They are constantly processing every single little bit of knowledge they have been given

throughout the day, their experiences, their emotions, there is always something on their

mind no matter what.

This leads to old souls being some of the hungriest for knowledge as well since they

are relentlessly seeking answers to questions they form in their head.

3.

Forge Their Own Destiny

Old souls do not believe that they must follow a specific way or a specific trend in order

to function in society.

In fact, they know all too well what makes them happy and will do everything in their

power to get it.

This means forging a path that is specifically designed for them and this is what its

going to take in order to achieve what they are looking for in life.

They will inspire many in their wake and love to demonstrate what it means by taking control

of your life.

4.

Tireless Learners

Everyday has something new for an old soul to learn from.

They are tirelessly learning even when they think they arent.

Again, old souls are some of the most critical thinkers, so giving them a challenge is like

giving them a present on their birthday.

Knowledge is power to an old soul and they utilize the information that theyve gathered

well.

Telling others about the wisdom they have gained is a treasured opportunity that they

hold close to their heart simply because they want others to know exactly what they have

experienced.

5.

Able To Adapt To New Places

Most old souls are able to adapt to their surroundings without any trouble, however,

they will feel as if they are an outcast compared to the rest of everyone else.

Old souls are able to get along everyone who comes their way, but can also have a hard

time carrying on conversations with others who do not have the same mental capacity as

they do.

They will begin to show when they are getting bored or tired of the current situation and

well immediately seek a resolution to the problem.

Old souls are some of the best company to have around especially if you plan on traveling

the world or want to learn something new that youve never experienced before.

Are you or any of your friends old souls?

Unknown Woman | 이름없는 여자 – Ep.34 [ENG/2017.06.20] - Duration: 34:49.

- Gangnam Hospital? / - Yes.

- No way. / - What is it?

Do you know the hospital?

I do. Very well.

Hong Jiwon.

I won't forgive you.

(Episode 34)

Lawyer Yun. What brings you here at this hour?

Madam.

I have to ask you something.

Hurry up.

We have to stop Seol.

Sir.

What are you doing here at this hour?

Is Seol home by any chance?

We were talking, but then she disappeared.

No one was answering the doorbell.

Oh, Seol? She was with us until a minute ago

and went somewhere.

I thought something happened.

We were talking, but then she disappeared

while I went go buy some drinks.

I think she took my phone too,

so I had no way of contacting her.

She'll be home soon.

Why don't you come inside?

You want to ask me something?

What's so urgent that you came to our house

this late at night?

Seol.

Mother?

Madam Seo, you're here too?

What are you doing here?

You should've told me you were coming.

We could've come together.

My apologies for disturbing you so late.

What is it?

What made both of you come?

What's going on? How rude.

Grandma.

It's the lawyer lady.

Hello.

You even woke the kids.

Why did you come down? You should be sleeping.

Grandma, are you fighting?

Why would the lawyer lady and grandma fight?

Did you come over to play?

Why don't we send the kids up and then talk?

Haeju, take the kids up.

Let's go upstairs.

Let's not do this here.

Why don't you wait for us in the study?

It's right there.

We were ready for bed,

so we'll go change.

Maid, bring out some tea.

What are you thinking?

How could you do this? Think, will you?

If you ask what happened to Bom,

do you think Jiwon will come out

and admit what she did and explain what happened?

Bom died at Gangnam Hospital.

That hospital is like Jiwon's alter ego.

Bom was healthy.

How could she die so easily from pneumonia?

So?

Jiwon came to the prison and asked...

How my baby was...

And that she'd make me feel the pain

of losing my child.

Is someone here?

This is so ridiculous.

Lawyer Yun and her mother suddenly barged in.

- Why? / - How would I know?

They suddenly barged in in the middle of the night.

They have absolutely no manners.

The kids will hear you. Maya, let's go to bed.

Gaya, let's go.

How rude of them.

They want to talk to you.

Must I be there too?

No!

It's obvious Jiwon was involved with Bom's death.

How can I hold myself back?

I'm going to ask her.

I'm going to question...

- What she did to Bom. / - Snap out of it.

It's only your gut feeling that she was involved

with Bom's death.

You have no proof.

You don't have evidence that will corner her

into confessing.

I don't need evidence.

I'm going to ask what she did to my baby.

The moment you do,

you'll be announcing, "I'm Son Yeori."

Then Bom will be lost forever

without ever having her mom hold her.

If they find out you're Yeori,

you won't go down alone.

It won't be just me and your dad.

Innocent and kind Oliver will also go to jail.

Even if we don't question Jiwon right now,

we can just find Bom's traces.

Even if Jiwon really did do something to Bom,

we need proof first.

Not now. You need to get it together.

I'm coming in.

Hush.

What's this?

Did they lock it or did it lock by itself?

We'll all die without gaining anything.

Bom wouldn't want you to be dragged back

to prison like this.

You bet your entire life on this revenge.

We can't let it end like this.

Okay.

I wasn't thinking.

- I'm sorry. / - Lawyer Yun, are you inside?

Madam Seo, please open the door.

Just a minute. Please let us talk a little bit longer.

What?

Seol told you about Bom?

Yes. She must've let me into her heart.

It must've been quite a shock for you.

I don't dwell on the past.

I like Seol for who she is now.

I'm sure it was difficult for her to tell you about Bom,

so she'll probably be uncomfortable seeing you.

So you should go home.

I'll tell her you stopped by.

No. I need to see her

before I go in order to sleep well.

If by chance, she feels bad,

I want to tell her not to.

You're so stubborn. Fine. I'll give her a call.

Once we leave this room,

they'll ask why we came here.

We need to think of

a convincing excuse.

What's up? We're still at Chairman Gu's house.

Dochi came over.

He wants to see Seol.

Dochi is there?

Send him home for now.

I'm sure

Seol doesn't want to see him tonight either.

Dochi came over?

I was with him and just took off.

That's it.

Let's say we're here because of Dochi.

Excuse me?

We're terribly sorry.

I needed to talk to Seol.

It must've been very important.

What is it?

It must have something to do with us,

or you wouldn't be here.

I've decided to date Dochi

as you asked me to.

You barged in here rudely

this late at night just to tell us that?

Do you even know where you are?

What do you take us for...

I thought Chairman Gu and Madam Hong

would be waiting anxiously.

I wanted to tell them right away

when I made up my mind,

so that I wouldn't change my mind later.

That is good news.

But is that all?

There's nothing else?

No.

Regardless, we're grateful that you've decided

to do as we asked.

Madam Seo, is there anything else?

I stopped by to talk to you

about getting Seol and Dochi together as well.

But after talking to her,

I realize I wasted a trip.

I've become anxious with age.

My goodness.

You're here anyway,

so please stay for tea.

No. It will wake me up later

and make me run to the bathroom.

Mother.

I need to talk to Chairman Gu and Madam Hong

alone so go home first.

Sure.

I'll get going then.

My apologies for intruding so late at night.

Have a seat.

I've thought hard about what you said to me

at the office.

If you guarantee

that I'll be the COO of the resort,

I will agree not to tell Dochi about the sale

of Wid Fashion.

Of course.

I never go back on my word.

I always follow through with what I say.

But verbal promises aren't all that reliable.

Would you like me to write an oath?

An oath carries no weight legally.

Please give me 1% of your shares.

What did you just say?

You want 1% of his shares?

I won't demand an answer right away either.

Just let me know as soon as you can.

Okay then. I'll see you at the office tomorrow.

What's going on?

You came here at this hour just to say

you'll date Dochi?

No. Of course not.

I asked the chairman

to give me 1% of his shares.

And?

Obviously, he needs to think about it.

But I'm sure he'll agree.

Since we've decided to take over Wid Group,

we have to do it right.

Haeju

said she'd give me half of her shares, so just wait.

Get home safely.

Haeju is home, so I can't drive you home.

Okay. Go inside.

She may get angry if she sees us.

She wants your shares? That was random.

What could she be thinking?

1% isn't that unreasonable.

The COO of the resort can have that much stock.

So? Will you agree?

I don't know.

I'll have to think about it.

Don't you think it's strange?

She said she came to ask me something.

But if it was about Dochi and company stock,

she could've talked to you at the office instead.

Maybe she felt more comfortable talking to you

since you're a woman.

Let's finish our conversation from before.

I'm going to give half of my shares to Muyeol.

No! Why would you give what's yours to him?

Once you start giving things to someone,

it's human nature to want more and more.

It'll become a habit.

Muyeol isn't a beggar.

Why would he demand more?

It's because you two have no respect for him,

that I want to give him more.

A spouse is nobody once you get a divorce.

A man

shows his true colors if he has more money

than he can handle.

If he takes your shares and divorces you,

it'll be too late to regret it.

Why would we get a divorce?

Go to bed.

We're tired too.

Dad.

Seol!

What happened? Why did you take off like that?

I was so worried

that something happened to you.

I'm sorry.

Something urgent came up.

You left it on the bench, so I took it with me

in case someone would take it.

You look tired. Let's talk in the car.

After hearing about Bom...

I wanted to see you again before I left.

I'll help you with Bom's memorials from now on.

Dochi.

You can't erase the painful memories,

but don't live in hiding, buried under them.

Let's think about...

How you and I...

Can be happy together.

I just

went to your house and told them

that you and I are going to date.

What? We're officially a couple then.

But...

Why do you look so down?

Is it because of Bom?

The truth is...

We lost Bom's ashes.

What?

How...

How did you lose her ashes?

We were moving her to another grove...

And I dropped her urn by mistake.

But it was empty.

I'll help you find her.

Let's find Bom together.

I'll help in any way I can.

I heard you told Dochi about Bom.

Your dad told me.

I just told him how her urn was empty.

And? What did he say?

He said he'd look with me.

He wants to help.

How kind of him.

He is such a great kid.

That's why I feel so bad.

If he finds out who Bom's dad is,

and that I'm Yeori...

Dochi will be traumatized for sure.

Anyway, I'll go to Gangnam Hospital tomorrow

and take a look at Bom's medical records.

The law requires them to keep

medical records for 10 years,

so they must have them.

Be very careful.

You can't let them know that you're Bom's mom.

Why the GOP is struggling to repeal Obamacare - Duration: 7:05.

Why the GOP is struggling to repeal Obamacare

by James Wallner

It's almost July and the Republican Party has yet to repeal Obamacare due to divisions

within its own ranks.

Everything that we thought we knew about the GOP suggests that this should not be the case.

What explains this sudden change in the policy views of Republicans?

One explanation is that party affiliation is not as important as previously thought

in explaining member behavior once in office.

But far from suggesting that parties don't matter, the GOP's present struggles demonstrate

that parties matter in a different way.

Obamacare's fate ultimately depends on how Republicans view their party.

Suggesting that opposition to Obamacare is an important part of the GOP's political identity

would be an understatement.

Calls to repeal the law have featured prominently in the party's platform since 2010.

Republican candidates at every level have campaigned on an unambiguous repeal message.

Speaking at the Conservative Political Action Conference in 2013, then-Minority Leader Mitch

McConnell, R-Ky., declared, "Obamacare should be repealed root and branch."

And after finally gaining control of Congress for the first time since Obamacare passed,

Republicans turned to a special process known as reconciliation to circumvent a Democratic

filibuster in the Senate and repeal the law's major provisions.

While President Barack Obama vetoed that measure in early 2016, Trump's victory in the presidential

election later that year restored Republican hopes that their seven-year crusade against

the law would finally end in victory.

Looking back, such optimism appears to have been unfounded.

Five months have passed since Trump's inauguration and Obamacare is still the law of the land.

Republican hopes for a quick victory have given way to the realization that progress

on this front is going to be a long, hard slog.

The GOP's "repeal" legislation, the American Health Care Act, barely passed the House on

its second attempt.

And Republicans are struggling to pass a watered-down version of the measure in the Senate.

When it comes to Obamacare, our tendency has been to view the role of political parties

as providing a cohesive policy link between voters and government.

That is, the parties are expected to formulate clear policy platforms, make commitments to

voters based on those platforms, and implement policies consistent with those commitments

once in office.

Trump's assertion during the closing weeks of the 2016 presidential campaign that "repealing

Obamacare is one of the single biggest reasons we must win on November 8" is illustrative

of this role.

This policy-centric view of party suggests that Republicans should be able to easily

repeal Obamacare given their past commitment and the fact that they also retained their

majorities in the House and Senate last November.

But it does not explain why they can't despite now being in the position to do so.

Another way of thinking about political parties suggests that they are large, diverse, umbrella-like

organizations that seek to appeal to the electorate to form a governing coalition.

That is, they seek to aggregate the many interests present in society to appeal to voters, win

elections, and govern.

Parties articulate the interests of their supporters by representing them in government.

This constituency-centric view of party suggests that Republicans don't want to repeal Obamacare

because they think doing so would negatively impact lots of people back home.

Given this, Trump's support for repeal may turn out to be less robust than expected because

a lot of his voters benefit from Obamacare.

While this may explain the Republicans' present difficulties, it does not account for their

past commitments.

Popular attitudes regarding Obamacare have certainly shifted in recent months.

However, this shift has not been nearly as large as the movement away from repeal among

lawmakers.

Something else must explain the GOP's struggles.

There is another way of thinking about political parties that captures Republicans' commitments

to repeal and their current hesitation to do so.

Party behavior in office can be best explained when viewed through the lens of electoral

competition.

This candidate-centric view suggests that the parties are not interested in detailed

policy work for its own sake or on behalf of their constituent's interests.

That is, instead of winning elections to formulate policies, parties formulate policies to win

elections.

For the past seven years, the electoral incentives of most Republicans reinforced a strong commitment

to repealing Obamacare.

The law remained unpopular, the GOP's core supporters were determined to repeal it, and

the party lacked the numbers to do so.

But present divisions in the party suggests that some Republicans have reinterpreted the

electoral incentives surrounding Obamacare after last year's election.

Now the challenge for these members is to demonstrate an effort to follow through on

their commitment without jeopardizing future electoral success.

Recent reports that Republican leadership in the Senate is indifferent to the underlying

policy details of their version of the healthcare bill suggests that the candidate-centric view

is most accurate.

If so, the GOP's primary motivation is to get a bill through the Senate that makes some

changes to Obamacare but that falls short of full repeal, thereby sparing its members

of any negative consequences.

Complicating things is the fact that parties are comprised of individual members.

And those members think differently about the role their party should play.

For example, some Republicans feel strongly that the GOP should deliver on its long-standing

promise to repeal Obamacare.

There are also those who advocate a different approach to dealing with the law's Medicaid

expansion and insurance regulations.

And finally, there are those who do not have strong feelings about what ultimately happens,

just so long as something passes in the end.

What ultimately happens to Obamacare will be determined by which of these three views

of the Republican Party prevails in the intraparty struggle ahead.
