JAPAN Vlog - Day 2 // KANAZAWA - Duration: 7:51.

Good morning,

It's 10 in the morning

and we're going to Kanazawa.

So, let's get rid of this marvel

which I feel very sorry for,

it's so comfortable, which I feel very sorry for,

it's so comfortable,

and we go to Kanazawa together.

I love the snow

but going with this

through this,

I swear is weary.

We are in Kanazawa.

In the 15th century, Kanazawa was controlled

by an autonomous Buddhist government

which was destroyed in 1583 by Maeda Toshie,

leader of the famous and powerful Maeda clan.

Kanazawa means golden swamp

and became the richest region in Japan.

So much wealth allowed the Maeda

to act as patrons

of culture and art

and, until today,

Kanazawa remains an important cultural center.

The Kenroku-en is considered

one of the three best gardens in Japan

and many say it's actually the best.

The name of this garden

indicates that it has

Insulation,

amplitude,

artificiality,

age,

abundant water

and wide views.

In winter, these trees are put on those cones

to help keep them from getting damaged by the snow.

I can't explain to you

how incredibly beautiful this place is.

We are at the gates of Kanazawa Castle.

It that was built in 1580

and the Maeda lived here

up to 14 generations.

However, the castle was

completely destroyed by fire in 1881

and the only thing that remains original about this castle

The Ishikawa-mon gate.

However, since only this part

and this part are the original ones

and considering I'm going to visit Himeji,

I won't go inside the castle

and we're going to head directly

to the Samurai district instead.

We can see some original letters

that were written to Mr. Nomura,

the Samurai who resided in this house,

and it's impressive.

Here, they thank him

for killing a soldier

in the battle of Yokokitaguchi,

a high-ranking soldier,

and for bringinng his head back to them.

And in this one

they care about his health,

since in that same battle he received

several injuries

and they also apologize

for writing such a simple letter.

I find it fascinating.

Kanazawa is also well known

for its work with gold

and to lacquer in gold many of its works

such as, for example, this box

or this set of boxes

dating back to the Edo era.

Here we can see more works

that were found here at the Nomura samurai's house,

which are lacquered in gold.

To this day, we can even find

food items such as ice cream or mochi

which are covered with edible gold leaves.

We are at Higashi-chaya,

which is the largest neighborhood of Geishas

in Kanazawa.

It emerged in 1820 and today,

along with the Gion neighborhood in Kyoto,

and Kazue-mahi's in Kanazawa, too,

it is historical heritage

of important architectural conservation.

In this eastern neighborhood

The Shima tea house

and the Kaikaro tea house.

The owner of the Kaikaro tea house

speaks English

and for that,

the Kaikaro tea house is still very active and functioning

since it is possible to visit it for 700 yen

and enjoy a little Matcha tea service.

The ancient Shima tea house

does work but as a museum

and the entrance is about 500 yen.

And there we can see the halls

where the geisha acted,

kitchen or a presentation of various instruments.

Here we have another one

of the famous Geisha's neighborhoods of Kanazawa,

right by the river,

like Ponto-cho in Kyoto.

Somebody's playing.

Okay, I just walked into the room

after 11 hours away from home

walking and doing what tourists do

and as you probably hear

I'm getting ready for a bath

because I'm exhausted and I deserve it.

Well, these are the views,

buildings ahead,

buildings around here

and a lot, a lot of snow.

Tomorrow we go to the town that's

in the Japanese Alps

named Shirakawa-go.

Bye.

PRO TRIATHLON TRAINING lessons all age groupers will benefit from - Duration: 7:20.

- And I witnessed how he structures

all of the training from everyone from pros...

And that is going to be your fastest possible time.

Who trained 12 hours a week,

and he went sub-nine hours in Kona.

Focus please.

Morning, trainiacs.

As you may know, if you've been around for the last week,

I was just in Scottsdale and Tempe,

and a big chunk of what I was doing down there was

I was meeting with Matt Dixon

and the Purple Patch Pro Triathlon Team,

and I witnessed how he structures

all of the training from everyone from pros to age groupers.

And I think that there is something that's really important

about Matt's approach, as he calls it, methodology.

- Uniting behind a methodology,

a methodology, a methodology, a methodology.

- Just sounds nice when he says it.

That all age groupers need to hear because it means,

potentially, training less while getting faster.

I'm also taking up wearing a hat backwards.

So I'm gonna put this in all terrain terms here,

and I'm probably gonna paraphrase and butcher

a lot of what Matt Dixon says.

If you're very interested

in Matt Dixon's approach after hearing this,

go to Amazon, check out The Well-Built Triathlete

and The Fast-Track Triathlete.

Those are two books that Matt has come out with

over the last three-four years.

So now, in my words, what I gathered from Matt is that

the training approach for every triathlete

needs to match their lifestyle.

And why that is, is because our bodies

can't differentiate stress that comes from work

or stress that comes from training.

And because most of us age groupers

have very stressful jobs

and we tend to have family structures where

triathlon is not integrated into the family,

any time that we do triathlon training

is often taking away and adding to the difficulty

of fitting in all of real life.

And because pros structure their entire lives

around the training,

we can't expect to be putting in

the same amounts of physical stress hours

in the triathlon training that pros do.

And that's because, in the case of pros,

they have more time to rest, they have more time to recover,

they have more time to put their feet up.

So, often when people say,

"Hey, how much training is it gonna take

"to get to Kona?" for example,

the typical answer is anywhere in between 18

and 22 hours a week of training.

That's what we see pros doing.

But when you ask people,

do you have 18 to 20 hours a week to train?

Rarely does anyone actually have that.

Pros do.

20 hours a week from an age grouper

doesn't have the same effect because

we spend that 20 hours a week training

and then we go and work 40, 50, 60 hours on top of it.

Then in the evening we have to cart our families around,

we have to go to events.

There is a whole lot more that goes into it.

So what happens with the pro

is that they're able to absorb

that 20 hours a week of training,

whereas with the age grouper, it might be too much.

So it's not like 20 hours a week is just 20 hours a week.

For every single athlete,

there is a certain amount

of training time and training stress

that they can put themselves through

over the course of a week that is comfortable enough

to absorb the training.

And that's different for everyone and dependent

on your lifestyle and your body's ability to recover.

So instead of trying to cram everyone's life

regardless of what commitments they have

into a maximum training effort week,

what we're looking to do is figure out how much training

you can comfortably sustain and recover from,

and that is going to be your fastest possible time.

Beyond that, you're probably doing yourself damage.

So how do you figure out

how much time you can spend training?

First thing is that you've got to tally up

the non-negotiables.

That's time spent working, time spent commuting,

time with commitments to family,

and at least seven to eight hours of sleep per night.

Also, then build in a little bit of me-time, essentially.

An hour, maybe two hours every day

where you're not rushing from one thing to the next because

even if you can fit everything in

but you're rushing from one thing to the next,

it's just constant stress on your body

and you need a little bit of downtime throughout the day.

And then what you do is

you build your triathlon training plan around that,

not the other way around.

And if it turns out that 12 hours is

all that you can comfortably get in,

12 hours is going to be your optimal performance

training hours week.

And what Matt also does

in addition to figuring out your optimal amount of time

is he understands that things come up.

So over the course of a week,

let's say there's 10 workouts in a week,

he'll indicate which workouts are key workouts.

These are typically the biggest, the longest,

the most difficult training workouts.

And then the other workouts are the supporting workouts.

These are the technique workouts.

Runners might refer to these as garbage miles,

recovery workouts.

Now, if you need to steal a day

because you're running out of time

or if you need to just shorten up a workout,

you do that with these recovery workouts,

either dropping them or

dropping aspects of it to shorten the workout

so that you can still get those key,

most beneficial workouts in.

So do pros train upwards of 20 or more hours a week?

Yes.

Will training 20 hours a week

help you more than training 12 hours a week?

Yes, but only if your life is set up

to be able to comfortably train 20 hours a week.

And does it mean that if you

aren't able to train 20 hours a week

that you can't reach your dreams like go to Kona?

No, there's actually a couple of case studies,

very famous ones, where Matt has coached athletes,

one in particular named Sami Inkinen,

who trained 12 hours a week,

and he went sub-nine hours in Kona.

Now, granted, Sami was an incredible youth athlete

and he had a huge engine to begin with,

but it's just to say

that you can reach your peak level of fitness

for your lifestyle on less training than the

gold standard 20-hour training weeks

that people have come to think is the norm.

5 Little Known Secrets To Higher Consciousness - Duration: 6:35.

5 Little Known Secrets To Higher Consciousness

Imagine a version of you where your emotional reactions were less reckless and more reasoned.

Picture dramatically increasing traits like focus, presence, and creativity.

We all know people who seem to have an elevated frame of mind- call it a higher consciousness-

where they are somehow less triggered by lifes struggles than the rest of us.

What are the secrets of their mindset?

You may think you know them already- good sleep, meditation, yoga, diet, exercise, etc.-

and those are all important, but

There are practices people swear by that rarely get mentioned when discussing tips to higher

consciousness.

Here are 5 tips you might not know much about that can have stunning effects on your happiness,

focus, clarity, and emotional self-control:

1. BINAURAL BEATS If youre unfamiliar with binaural beats,

clear your preconceptions: this isnt some trendy music genre, and theyre not beats

in the way youre probably thinking.

In 1839, physicist Heinrich Wilhelm Dove discovered that when signals of two different frequencies

are presented separately (such as one to each ear by headphone) the brain compensates for

the difference by creating a 3rd binaural beat at 4.5 beats per second.

Research shows to be the beat frequency common in a multitude of ancient tribal music rituals

and induces a low Theta brainwave state, which in turn causes extremely therapeutic benefits.

2. NOOTROPICS In case you missed it, the science of mental

nutrition has gotten extremely advanced in the last 5 years.

Foods, minerals, vitamins, adaptogenic herbs and nutraceuticals that can improve things

like focus, memory, mental energy, and mood are being discovered, combined, and formulated

into new supplements that fall into a category called Nootropics.

These supplement formulations can support the neural pathways of your brain and help

you perform at your optimal level.

There are several new companies in the space, however, the best in class nootropic

supplement is a blend called Qualia by a startup biotech company out of San Diego called Neurohacker

Collective.

They are pushing the cutting edge of neuropharmacology and have a very powerful team of neuroscientists

and doctors that researching and developing the product.

The team here are Higher Perspective connected with the Neurohacker Collective so we could

offer our readers a 10% discount on single orders and 15% on subscriptions.

Try Qualia right here to experience what your mind feels like when you pamper it with cutting-edge

nutrition.

3. ANTHROPOLOGIC TRAVEL Everyone knows how restorative a vacation

can be. But drinking margaritas under a palm tree doesnt exactly expand your consciousness

in a lasting way.

To really get the most out of a trip, prioritize the anthropologic value of travel.

Schedule a trip that doesnt only immerse you in relaxation, but also immerses you in

an exotic culture which thinks, communicates, and expresses differently than your own.

Forget photo-ops or tourist spots. Instead, try to deeply familiarize yourself with other

ways of being by engaging with different people living very different lives.

When you experience the diversity of goals and purposes of cultures around you, many

of the things which cause you stress are revealed as shallow concerns.

And many of the keys to happiness will be revealed to you in ways youve never considered.

4. THE BICAMERAL MODEL In 1976, psychologist Julian Jaynes published

The Origins Of Consciousness in the Breakdown Of The Bicameral Mind.

Its a highly controversial book detailing the evolution of human consciousness.

Scholars argue over its importance and insights, but a key takeaway that many find helpful

are known as the three stages of paramount orientation.

The most basic and least evolved stage is obedience. This means blindly believing and

doing what youre told by authority figures.

The next step up in evolved consciousness is being right. A lot of us struggle at this

level.

This is where we get into damaging conflicts with loved ones, hurting them and our own

reputations due to disagreements over ultimately petty issues.

Finally, the most evolved stage is producing desirable results.

This is where your ego is willing to concede petty conflicts (whether you were right or

not) in order to keep the main goals of your life (maintaining loving relationships, large

career, and personal missions, etc.) on track.

Practice behavior that prioritizes the shortlist of what you hold dear in life.

5. ENVIRONMENTAL PSYCHOLOGY Everyone has experienced how mentally rejuvenating

a stroll down the beach or a hike through the forest can be. But those activities are

such a small percentage of your life.

The most important environmental psychology is wherever you spend the most time, meaning

your home and immediate neighborhood.

Caring about the interior design of your home should matter to you whether you enjoy interior

design or not.

Little things, like getting rid of clutter, soothing wall artwork, or gentle lighting,

can play an enormous role in your mental wellbeing.

If you have a yard, what do you picture being there that would bring you daily peace?

If youre debating where to rent or own, consider the aesthetics of the block you live

on, beyond just your home itself, because its going to inform your mood for good

or bad every time you walk out your door.

Evolve your mindset with these tips, and link this article to friends/family who may benefit

from it!

Reacting to Jenna Marbles Making Terrible Hot Glue Gun Crafts - 5 Minute Crafts - Duration: 27:05.

Hi, I'm Lori, this is Maker High and today I'm gonna react to Jenna Marbles in my

PJ's because she just came out with a brand new hot glue gun video and if you're new

here welcome. For those of you who've been around for a while you know I'm

kind of all about the hot glue stuff so yeah. Full disclosure, I am subscribed to

her. I saw this pop-up in my feed. I guess she put it up about an hour ago

so I apologize for the video quality but I'm filming this on my webcam and I'm

very, very excited to see what she has to say. I'm definitely a fan. yeah. so I'm

gonna go ahead and start this and I've tried to do a picture-in-picture. We'll

see how this turns out. Maybe not so much. We'll see. All righty. So here we go. [Rubber Duckie Noises]

JENNA:: I've been spoiled. Julien's here like every week to sit

and laugh and make fun of me and he's not here this week and I just feel so

alone! I've been watching a lot of DIY videos lately and a long time ago

someone sent me a link that was on Facebook and it was this hot glue video.

LORI: I......

LORI: I don't........ I sincerely dislike 5 minute crafts. I think they're awful. I

can see why she chose them for a terrible hot glue gun craft video. Almost

never do they take 5 minutes. They're a huge waste of time and resources and

people have accused me of having sour grapes because they have millions of

subscribers... and I'm like no. I'm more upset because I feel like it discourages

people from actually making stuff and being creative because they try it and

then it turns out like a terrible nightmare and yeah also I feel like they

make really irresponsible thumbnails but I'll talk about that at the end. Ok, back to the video.

JENNA: where someone had made flip flops out of hot

glue and I got like physically angry. I got like hot in the face and was like kind of mad but hey.

LORI: that's why I love her because it's so hard to contain the

rage that I feel sometimes especially when I get comments on my glue gun burn

videos from people who have been... like... it's where I get most of my traffic from

honestly it's five minute crafts - on that video - because it's just this like so

irresponsible... Anyway, sorry, back to the video. JENNA: and know that these videos are all

over Instagram and Facebook. I've never really seen anybody talk about it. About how...

LORI: I actually planned on making a video about this later on. I'm glad that she

got to it first because she has such a large audience that hopefully people

will listen. Fingers crossed.

JENNA:.... Beyond like I don't know who they are

for. Who are you helping? Like, some of them are just like popsicle sticks and

razor blades that you glued together and made yourself like a prison weapon but I really wanted to try

LORI:"PREACH!" JENNA :I really wanted to try some of these hot-glue hacks and I'm not gonna

do like the more ridiculous ones where they... LORI: But, why not? You should do the

more ridiculous ones, because I want to be entertained. JENNA: If anyone's gonna actually

sit down and do these crafts it's gonna be me because I really don't LORI:and I'm so

happy that it is. By the way, if you are not familiar with Jenna Marbles she has

been on YouTube not quite since the beginning. She really she went

viral with a video that was how to trick people your into thinking you're

good-looking and that's actually why I started watching videos on YouTube is

because somebody sent me the link to it and she was just so funny and I've been

hooked pretty much ever since. But, some of her newer series that I really like

are her drunk are at school, her ratchet salon, and like this are this. I'll link those

up in the description so you can watch those. JENNA: I don't know anyone else that

would watch this and be like

'Yeah, I got some time to kill and some glue to waste'. A prerequisite for making...

LORI:I think it's more the idea that you could actually do these things and

watching somebody else do them but I'm sure that there are people who have

attempted this. I haven't looked in the comments just because it's like too

cringey. JENNA:... and then you put another layer on top to somehow negate the fact that

it's filled with holes! LORI: So many problems with the hot glue gun shoes. Yes, it is

filled with holes. They are using low temp glue. I can tell because it is

very, very white in color. That means if you walk outside onto any kind of hot

pavement that they will melt. The shoes aren't gonna be structurally sound

enough to be able to actually walk. They will flop all over. Yeah, there are so

many problems I'm not gonna go into them all right now, but this is just

like - it's just such a terrible idea and I love that she's

doing this. Also, if you zoom in, you can tell that there's actually other layers

that they've put in between the shoes to make them structurally sound enough for

that person to put their feet in and walk away. Go back and do it fullscreen

and take a look and you'll see what I'm talking about.

JENNA: What a life heck! So, I want to try it because I haven't seen anyone be like 'I

tried this stuff on five minute crafts. I wasted my time, energy, money, resources

and these are my results. LORI:So, I actually thought about doing that, but I figured I

would get way too mad. Soooo good job.Good job taking one for the team Jenna.

JENNA: I'm gonna do that. Mind you, when I was getting supplies for this video it cost

me almost $100. LORI: Depends on what she makes, but I can believe it. JENNA:Five-minute crafts

on YouTube : the channel that scams you into watching twelve of their videos in

a row before you realize it's all the same F****** video. LORI: She's gonna have to

send them some cream for that sick burn. HAH! JENNA: My hand is shaking already, like I'm

tired. This is exhausting. LORI: Glue guns aren't meant to be used continuously

like that. They're meant to put out small amounts at a time for bonding.

Poor thing. I kind of feel bad. You should be wearing a hand brace

with that much stress on your hands ,just so you don't get a strain. It's

possible you could trip when you try wearing them and walking around because

these are not going to be stable at all. I can already tell you. I can tell you

these are not gonna ....there's not gonna be enough... what's the word I'm looking for?

They're not gonna be stiff enough to be able to lay flat when you put them on.

JENNA:I'm not gonna use parchment paper to make the sandal straps because I'm just

gonna do it on my table because I've stopped giving a f***. I'm by no means a

weak girl. I have strong meaty arms. LORI: Don'.t Don't.

Don't do it on your table. Too late, I guess. JENNA: but which sometimes look fat in

shirts. I have pretty decent grip strength and my grip is exhausted. This

is exhausting. The sun is literally setting since I started doing this.

The sun is also setting on the window of opportunity for me to do something with my life. The idea of doing more

hot glue crafts after this is like making me hivey. LORI:That! That's why I

have a problem with those videos. They really just ... she's not the first person

I've heard say that kind of thing and it's frustrating because making stuff

can be a lot of fun and you can, you know, find a ton of really good quick DIYs

online for stuff that you can use hot glue for. I mean, I have the video about

making the hot glue molds and then using the ...you can use them for clay or a bunch

of other stuff and it's like, it's just... incredibly frustrating when the whole

point of my channel is to try to get people over that hump of 'No, you don't

suck, yes you can do stuff. Yes, you can make stuff ...and then having so many

people turned off because of stuff like that. So, I've liked Jenna before but I

kind of have a woman crush on her now. Just for talking about this like so

bluntly and I know that it's an entertainment video but it's also very

informative and before I keep going I just want to say thank you for doing it

because that's awesome. JENNA: Like, have you ever tried a hot-glue part of your shoe back

together? It doesn't work. Let me make a hole...LORI: Wait! On that note hold on. I'm gonna be

right back. Barge cement. If you need to fix your

shoes and the soul is coming, off barge cement is the way to go. They actually

sell this in small tubes. I don't get it in small tubes because I use it all the

time for a puppet making, but I will be doing a video on this in two months I,

think. I have my schedule in the other room... but yeah no seriously. This stuff is

awesome. Yeah, it's good. JENNA: I know it's only been a couple of minutes for you but for

me - it has not been. Okay, it's like lifting the other side. This design is

flawed. It pulls the shoe up.Oh, no. You know...okay, this parts coming apart now, too. Let's just back in here.

These better be the dankest shoes in the world. I mean the texture and just the general design of them remind me a lot

of like jellies but I feel like. LORI: But, jellies are actually injection molded

and they have support to them - which is why they'll stay on the bottom of your

feet. They do have ridges and stuff but it's meant to contour to your

feet whereas hot glue in the way that they are doing it is not going to

contour at all. I mean, I can't wait for her to step on them because I

can tell you they're probably going to be painful.JENNA:The problem is, is that they don't

really stick together because there's so many holes in them. You know they're not

structurally sound anywhere but now that I have completed

them I guess I am a little bit proud... LORI: structurally sound. That was

the phrase I was looking for earlier. Good job on being articulate

where I am NOT. JENNA: at first when I put them on they felt kind of good. I was like oh

that's a little squishy. After a couple seconds it physically starts to hurt.It

feels like you're standing on some soft-ish Legos. LORI: So, she just got up and tried

to put them on and said it was like standing on semi softish Legos and yeah...

that's pretty much what I expected them to. They also they aren't staying on. JENNA: they

sort of just flop all over. They are not shoes at all. This is not okay.

This doesn't feel good and they don't work. Like, if I were to actually walk

they just slip off my feet. See? that what the hell is going on? I will never get

this part of my life back. I knew they look ridiculous on the internet cuz

guess what? LORI: I'm gonna guess that these took her all toll probably about two

hours... being generous. If nothing else just waiting for the hot glue to keep

heating up again and again, because once you expel the hot glue and more hot glue

goes down toward the heating element it actually has to expend energy to heat it

back up to get it back through the glue gun which is probably part of the reason

that she was having the hand strain was that she just kept trying to continually

feed it and it wasn't entirely melted as she was pushing it through. But, yeah, she

probably did it as fast as she could and I wouldn't be surprised if it took her

two hours to do this. Like, oh my god, my eye is like twitching.

So, I give people props for trying new things, trying new methods but it's like just

so irresponsible... like so incredibly irresponsible ... making this just to have

consumable content and I have to say that whoever they have shooting it and

editing it and doing all of their programming and their tagging and

everything else... like great job. Great job growing the channel. Great job making

like cyclical content where people continue to

watch video after video after video. Like, they have nailed how to get the YouTube

views. Personally, I don't necessarily think

views are worth endangering people's safety and well-being. If anything, I

would ask them... if I were able to talk to them directly... to get rid of some of

their less dangerous thumbnails ...but I only have like 4,000 subscribers.

Nobody's gonna listen to me. But, yeah. I'll talk more at the end of the video

JENNA: some of it feels like you're gonna pull a muscle from reaching. So this next one

got me pretty hyped up. Individually cutting out... wait for it...

a set of hot glue fake nails, which I will not be called...LORI: Jenna has not had

success with nails on her channel... Okay. she's... she's made entertaining content

and she has done nails and she's gotten better at fake nails but just the fact

that it's hot glue nails causes me concern. I'm sure it'll be fine.

JENNA :I've never seen anyone be like" oh my god, thanks! this is so great! I made that. I think

people just like, like idea porn, even if they're bad

LORI: Yes! Exactly! People like the idea of making these thing...s that they could make

these things if they wanted to.Tthey are not necessarily very practical.JENNA: This is

kind of nice to cut. I do kind of like this like solid glue piece. LORI: solid sheets

of very satisfying to cut down. If you do need to melt a large amount of hot glue...

so this is just a melting pot. They sell a bunch of different versions of these.

Sometimes, it's specifically in the floral department with the dried flowers

and that kind of thing. People will dip it in the hot glue and put it in

the styrofoam. I really like this one because it's got a very solid plate on

it. It's got a buffer of the plastic and the thing is

the hot glue will not stick in here at all and it's got a nice little pourable

feature on here as well so if you wanted to pour out a layer of hot glue you

could do that as well.JENNA: the second that you have the hot glue gun on it wastes

itself. why? LORI: and the reason for that is is that here in the little tip of the glue

gun it gets really, really hot and if the glue sits there for too long it can burn.

So, having it leak with little tiny dots here and there... it's actually a good

thing. it's making sure that the glue doesn't burn while it's sitting in the

glue gun. JENNA:I'm never getting this time back, am I? This is what happens when no one actually tries them. LORI: Now you're

making me feel bad, Jenna. Thanks. That's awesome. But seriously though, like just

watching this... like one of the things that I tell people when I talk to them

in real life and they're talking about 'oh I want to try it' and I tell them 'you

know... just because you can technically do something doesn't mean that you should.'

and hot glue is not a solution for everything... but people seem

to think it is... which is odd. JENNA: although this next hot glue heck is not

necessarily a wearable I honestly could not help myself because I want to try it.

Alright, so you take a glove... I think I might use one like this a little softer

and then... oh! oh!

LORI:The reason the hair is coming off is because it's a rubber glove, not because

there are glue dots on it. It's one of the life hacks that I read on Lifehacker

like six seven years ago, I want to say. It is very very effective but you

can just go to the dollar store and buy a set of rubber gloves and pet your

animals and yeah.... JENNA: I think I will say is that the hot glue is getting all over

the rest of the gloves. Well, you can't really make like clean dots

with a hot glue gun. We all know that. LORI: Not always. it's easier if you use a low temp

glue gun and low temp glue because there's more wax in it. It tends not to

string as much and also make sure that you don't have like an air conditioner

or a fan running around you. I know I've mentioned that in another video I can't

even remember which one it was. It's in the catalog somewhere. JENNA:Does it feel good? What do you think? You

like that? You don't care? you can't tell if that's my hand or what.. Oh does it

feel good? oh... LORI: I think it's more that they're getting attention while she's

filming than it is necessarily the glove, but right on. JENNA: if you put this in any kind of water all this

hot glue is gonna come off. GURL and you know it. iI you need to brush your cat right

now and all you have is a latex glove and a hot glue gun, sure. LORI:So, they do make

hot glue for fabric that you can wash but it's really meant more to attach

pieces of fabric together. It's not necessarily meant to be a standalone. I

have seen people use it to make like a non-slip stick slippers out of socks but

it tends to pull off after a few washings. JENNA: so this next one going back to

our wearable crafts looks like a lot of the other ones where it's like a

bracelet or like some earrings were basically just diarrhea some hot glue on...

LORI:She just said you diarrhea some hot glue and I'm just like... yeah that's what most

of these are. that's that's like such an apt descprit... she's, she's like a

wordsmith. JENNA: person needs a stencil to draw a heart. Here's where I get a little lost...

LORI:Oh, that's not gonna work .Okay, so .there's a jump ring and they're pushing it into

the hot glue and that's just... that's not that's not gonna stay stable. I can just

tell you right that that... no. JENNA: this is like a $10 necklace which you

could just buy at the register of a craft store. LORI: she's not she's not wrong.

JENNA:Now, you just do- do- dump- dump all over your heart with this hot glue. LORI:Yeah do- do- dump

dump-dump - diarrhea - do-do- dump -dump... like very very juvenile and yet I am entertained.

JENNA:This took a hot second to dry because it's just like crafting with molten lava

LORI: Low temp glue will harden faster. High temp glue takes a lot longer because it

has to cool down more. JENNA: Just like there's there is a little spot at the top that

it's difficult to cut out which is a dead giveaway that this is a piece of

paper and hot glue. LORI: Yeah, if you're actually going to try to make this craft -

I don't recommend it but people are gonna do what they're gonna do - I would

say actually just make the heart first don't put the jump ring in.

Then take the tip of your glue gun and then push it through, like slightly lower

in the heart. That way you can cut the whole thing out and then when you put

the tip of the glue gun into... after its dried, after its cooled down, you'll

actually make a hole in it and then you take the jump ring and you pull it apart

with a pair of pliers. Put it through and then close it and then put your chain

through and it'll be slightly better - slightly more functional- because I don't

see... like to me, because it's metal and you're using hot glue with metal... that's

gonna pop out relatively quickly. JENNA: So the bottom of it feels very sharp LORI: if you

have a sharp point on some glue stuff that you are doing, you can take a

hairdryer and just run it back and forth a couple of times... don't burn your hand

and then you can just roll it across your desk top and that should help

like just ease the ease the point so it's not like dangerous. JENNA: I love my money.

I love just taking dumping it in the toilet. Tell me what

the results are late... this is the final heart pendant. I mean it's not the worst

thing in the world. LORI: it's not. JENNA: it's definitely, like, look at that when it

turns around. Oh God. It's like you could spray paint a noodle

metallic purple. Is this worth ten dollars?

No, it's not and if you do attempt to make it you can buy double-sided

scrapbooking paper so at least the back won't be bright white. Yeah

JENNA: The thought is there but like maybe.... it came apart. LORI: it broke JENNA: it already ripped

off. We've come to the very last thing that I have the patience to make right

now and it is by far along with the shoes one of the like more popular hot

glue hack crafts that I've seen. I mean I'm not looking

forward to it after those but... LORI: boy that was a really big sigh. JENNA:This is what I'm talking about. LORI: Oh no! Not the Hat!

Oh Jenna, no! JENNA: Somebody's got to try it. Okay, I'm gonna try it

we're gonna make a hot glue hat. LORI:She's taking one for the team. I take my point sign and everything but

JENNA:I mean like this is kind of an extreme solo activity, you know? How are you supposed to know

how big your head is? I feel like the Hat... LORI: She's like 'I don't

know how you're supposed to know how big your your head is.. take a tape measure and run it

right around here and then you can blow up the balloon to that size it needs to

be. Hold on... it needs to be a fabric tape measure. So you've got the... yes, like

right... this is so hard to do in the camera ...there we go. Like right about like that. It's the

largest part of your head. JENNA:5 minute crafts, they said! I'm not gonna give up. LORI:Oh, honey... JENNA:Five minute crafts they said... This is almost impossible. LORI:she's joking but

her frustration is obvious and it's like... I don't know if you can tell, but it's really,

really upsetting me. Like this is why it makes me so mad. Poor thing.

JENNA:I'm gonna Plan B and I'm just gonna get a bowl.

This should be fine, right? I don't even care anymore. It's all uneven. Just

Imagine doing this on a F****** balloon. I'm glad it didn't work LORI: if you're gonna do this on a bowl they do

have silicone mixing bowls. If you use it on one of those, it will pop right off.

Not that I'm saying you should do this craft either, I'm just saying should you

attempt it. JENNA:In case you couldn't tell, this is not a five-minute craft. LORI: Again, yeah , not a

5-minute craft. No, I agree. JENNA:I feel like a good rule with hot glue is like... just

because you can make it, doesn't mean that you should. That's basically what

that whole channel is. Yet, here I am because I feel like everyone else knows

that you shouldn't do it, but for some reason I need to try it. LORI: Because you're

my spirit animal, that's why you have to try it. JENNA: I swear to God to like I'm trying

my best. I'm not like...LORI:... and you can definitely tell she is trying to I mean...

you can tell she's trying her best to do what they're saying in the video... to try

to make it work. JENNA: Yeah, I knew this is gonna be terrible and you know what it

came out even worse than I thought.

LORI:OH, NO! JENNA:Does it look good? Does itlook like tears and sadness? Wow, what a hat!

Have you ever put hot glue on your hair? LORI:can't say that I have.

Jenna if you actually wind up watching this at some point and Julian goes out of town,

I'm more than happy to drive down to LA. I will bring

so much stuff. You will have your pick of things that we can do together. We don't

have to film it. We can just hang out and make stuff, because I'd really like for

you to A) use a glue gun and have fun and B)you know have something you're gonna

be happy with when you're done and there's so many different things that

you can do, honestly... like it's making me want to do like short-form DIY stuff on

the channel. If that's something that you guys are interested in, leave a comment

down below. Really, most of the stuff that I've done so far is like how to use like

tools and materials just so you guys have an idea and hopefully that will you

know spark something that you want to make on your own or you have a specific

question ...but I mean I've done a couple but that's really more showing practical

applications of the stuff that I'm teaching. Yeah , no, it's... I see it as a

problem and I'm glad other people see this as a problem as well.

How to Have A Second Date And What Women And Men Want In Dating - Advice Tips Stories - Duration: 4:15.

I want somebody I can be friends with. Tall dark and handsome. It's about the

vibes. It was just a hot mess. And then it just got really awkward after that.

Cray Z Dates for new generation of daters. What was your very first date? I'm trying to think of what would count as a very first date. I went with my

brother's best friend. It was a double date. A guy high school. I was living in

Alaska at this point and this guy he lived in Texas. He was the nicest guy. It

was something simple. It was a little disastrous. He worked until he had saved the money

to buy a plane ticket to come to Alaska to see me. We went to the movies. His

mom picked us us. But we just went out to the local sushi place. We took a

taxi which is interesting because in Alaska you know it's not a common thing.

We were all riding this like hideous weird van from like the 80s. Up to this

little little Italian place. Oh and then we went to his brother's apartment. And

then we just went for a walk Their fifth friend

oddly came and met us there and then was flirting with me and my friend. Yeah it

was lovely the ambience in there was amazing. It was just a hot mess. And we saw

the skyline from his roof. So my brother was calling me on the phone we like ran

home and got back in time. And we didn't know if like he was trying to be on

a date with us. It was our first she was our first date. We hadn't gotten the chance

to really date before we got into the relationship because of the distance. It was a

really good date. We just like lied to our friends we were like it was the best date.

of our lives. It was very special to me. What do you look for in someone to date?

I think most women have the same type of man. I don't

really have a set type. Someone I can relate to.

Somebody you can have like a genuine conversation with you. Somebody who can

talk to me listen to my stories and not get bored of it because I am a talker.

Just so they can come in with a witty statement or something I like that a lot.

Tell me really funny stories. Knows a lot of jokes. The same interests. Great

personality but also be a little bit serious when the time comes. Somebody who

speaks well about their family. Likes to read books. Somebody intelligent. Because at

the end of the day. I want somebody I can be friends with. Somebody who's nice.

Somebody who can be funny. Matter of compatibility. And make sure you want to

spend the rest of your life with them. Just somebody I could like get along

with. I think that's very important I like that a lot.

Tall Dark and handsome.

I'm an expert at recognized.

6'4" but I'll take 5'11"' take like 511 If he has a six-pack abs I won't

like say no.

What rules out someone for a second date? Part 1

Alaska

Somebody who

is late without explanation for sure. I have been kept waiting for up to an hour

and he showed up and he said, hey you know how's it going what's you know

whatever all these formalities except for the one where he told me why he was

so late and yeah he never mentioned it ever for the entire length of the date

and I didn't see him again.

Stephanie. Okay so one time I went on a

date with this guy Tinder and then we met in a coffee shop and then he's like,

oh um what do you like to do I said oh I'd like to like read books and he's

like oh he laughed at me he was like oh I don't have time in my life to read

books and then he got really awkward. I was like what do you do is like oh I

work for a hedge fund and I was like oh okay I see....

And it just got really awkward after that. iI was like no. An absolute no
