Meghan Markle has taken the world by storm, and not just because she's engaged to Prince
Harry.
Markle's sense of style is of central discussion.
Balancing the modesty of British royalty with the trends of today is no easy feat, but Markle
has proven she's up to the challenge.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, fans looking to emulate Markle's fashion have already
crashed websites and depleted inventory in mere moments.
Do Markle's outfits truly merit the frenzy they cause?
You've gotta see for yourself!
Casual chic
Prince Harry and Markle first appeared in public together at the Invictus Games in Toronto,
going casual for the event.
Vogue reported that Markle's top was fittingly called "The Husband," and, whether she chose
the shirt for its name or not, fans enjoyed speculating about the play on words.
To tie the look together, Markle opted for Brit brand Finlay & Co sunglasses, making
this outfit a gold medal winner for "chic and practical."
Totes for every occasion
During that first appearance with Prince Harry, Markle was photographed clutching a large
Everlane Day Market Tote.
Refinery29 reported that, like most other items worn by Markle, the bag temporarily
sold out after fans discovered the brand.
Of course, that's not Markle's only bag.
In hand for Markle's first official outing with Harry was a gorgeous Strathberry tote,
which Glamour reports, "sold out in 11 minutes."
Modern royalty
Even before Harry and Markle began dating, Markle had honed her unique style.
While attending the Herve Leger runway show back in February 2014, Markle paired a delicate
white dress with a studded leather jacket.
Some years have passed since then, but her affinity for leather jacket combos remains.
At the opening of the Invictus Games, when Harry and Markle were lowkey dating, Markle
wore a pleated gown along with a leather jacket.
A little bit Royal, a little bit rock-n-roll.
That amazing dress
When Harry and Markle sat down for their first official interview as an engaged couple, all
eyes were on Markle's hunter green dress!
It was so gorgeous, it sold out soon after the interview aired.
The knee-length sleeveless dress by P.A.R.O.S.H.
features a bow detail at the waist, and hits at the knee.
As of early 2018, the hunter green color has yet to be restocked, but two other colors,
both listed as "The Meghan," are currently available.
Bye-bye pantyhose
Harry and Markle posed for engagement photos outside of Kensington Palace and fans were,
quite rightfully, focused on Markle's glamorous engagement ring.
However, it didn't take long after the pictures began surfacing online for people to notice
something else: Markle's bare legs.
If you're thinking, 'So what?', The Cut explains,
"[T]he royal family seems to enforce a strict, unspoken pantyhose policy.
Everyone wears them."
"Markle's choice to not wear panty hose suggests [...] Meghan Markle is real; what you see
is what you get."
But while she might be a bit of a rebel, she has also made some "royal" adjustments.
Since dating Prince Harry, Markle has traded in her minis for longer hemlines — like
this flared khaki skirt by Joseph.
All dressed in white
If you love Markle's white engagement coat, you're not alone.
Harper's Bazaar reported,
"The white wrap coat by Canadian brand Line The Label sold out within minutes of the soon-to-be
royal wearing it at [the] photocall."
It's slated to be restocked, and, according to the mag, it's already been renamed "The
Meghan".
The royal LBD
Markle may not be able to get away with wearing little black dresses now that she's engaged
to a prince, but she can definitely still rock a new version of the LBD — the long
blue dress.
Markle chose a deep navy Antonio Berardi double-breasted sleeveless dress for Harry's charity polo
match.
And even though it's the priciest fashion that we've seen Markle rock thus far, at over
$2,500 dollars, it is — you guessed it — sold out.
Wedding dress inspo
Many are already speculating about Markle's future wedding dress.
Given her distinctive personal style, her gown will surely be exquisite.
Will she consider a long train like both Princess Diana and Duchess Kate Middleton or will she
look to change things up?
Only time will tell.
As for who will design the wedding dress, ABC News reports, British designer Misha Nonoo,
who reportedly introduced the couple, is topping the list.
In an interview with Glamour about her Suits character Rachel's wedding dress, Markle admitted,
"I personally prefer wedding dresses that are whimsical or subtly romantic."
Whichever dress Markle chooses, one thing is certain — within minutes of its debut,
it'll be the most popular thing on Pinterest!
