On today's menu, we have a new Cyberpunk 2077 discussion video and today we're going
to talk about the different enemies that you can encounter in Night City that are going
to make our gameplay very interesting
The lore gives us 3 types of enemies, 2 of which are already confirmed by CD Projekt
as enemies and a third that is pretty obvious if the game has freedom of choice, that usually
in the roleplaying world is called "freedom to fuck up", but these third type of enemies
are only going to be available in the game if, and only if, the decisions you take during
the game have consequences
And in this video I'm not going to talk about the enemies you can encounter in the
net, we're only going to talk about the enemies in the real world, we will go back
to the net when I upload some lore videos on the net for you to have some background
before I go on and on about this subject
Let's go for it
BOOSTERGANGS
The most common enemies in the Cyberpunk universe
are the boostergangs, and they are mentioned in every official description of Cyberpunk 2077
Boostergangs are gangs of people that unite to survive, and they range from deadly to
harmless, or even helpful as there are some vigilante boostergangs that try to combat
the crime in Night City, meaning they have a lot of work because there's crime left and right
Every boostergang has its own turf around the city, and most gather in the Combat Zone,
that is the more or less "controlled" zone where all the undesirables are put, and
not even the police enter there, unless they are these kinds of cops that make business
with boostergangs but then they keep their badge hidden, because showing your badge in
the combat zone is as good as having a bullseye in your back with the sign
"TARGET PRACTICE HERE"
All boostergangs have distinctive looks so they are easy to recognize, some are incredibly
deadly, like the Slaughterhouse, that are considered the worst of the bad news, or the
Inquisitors that are a boostergang you don't want to meet because they are religiously
against cyber implants and they are goingto enjoy to rip your cyber limbs off if they have a chance
Or the Bozos, that are something like if the clown of IT woke up with hungover to have
an early brunch homicidal party with the Joker
But they are so easy to spot, Bozos are biosculpted to look like clowns, red nose included, so
imagine changing your body with plastic surgery to look like a clown, that's so twisted
Love it.
There are other types of boostergangs that are only deadly if you mess with them, like
the Juliard, that are street performers and they all look like mimes or something similar,
you don't mess with them, you're fine, but just be careful
But not all boostergangs are evil, quite the opposite, they try to do some good and take
responsibility of the public safety, and they're called Guardian gangs, like the Silver Slash,
that are even recognized as a good thing by the Night City Police
Can these gangs be enemies?
Well, it all depends on your style of gameplay, indeed, in you have an easy trigger most probably
they are going for you
As the guardian gang The Black Alley Brawlers say: If you're going to do it, make sure
we don't find out
So, with the exception of the deadly gangs, that are going to try to kill you no matter
what, the rest of the gangs can or cannot be enemies depending on how you decide to
play Cyberpunk 2077, if you go for a non-lethal gameplay or you try your best not to harm
civilians, some gangs will love you more than others, same if you kill selected individuals,
this is a great chance to make the decisions you make in the game to have some impact in the story

City Playlist, link in here, and I believe that is safe to assume that we're going
to see new gangs in the video game that are not in the lore, because the city evolved
and so did its gangs, but if the Bozos are not there I'm going to be very disappointed
MEGACORPORATIONS
Other of the very obvious enemy in the game are megacorporations
These have a different impact in your life as a player than boostergangs have, because
Cyberpunk is not a game about saving the world, is about saving yourself, and megacorporations
operate at a larger level, controlling everything from the shadow
Or even in the broad daylight, they are very good at giving a clean version of themselves
in the media for citizens to think they are saviors of humanity instead of the rats they are, so is
not like their power is not known
In life, it is important to be one step ahead

One step ahead
In one hand, most of the weapons of this universe are manufactured by megacorporations, mostly
Arasaka and Militech, so plenty of the gear we'll have in game is going to display their
logo, but they are also, especially Arasaka, an enemy that we may encounter lots of times in the game
Arasaka is a megacorporation that is specialized in security, meaning if you need to break
in some place that can afford some decent level of security, this security is most probably
going to be Arasaka, so you'll need to go through a squadron of Arasaka security officers
to be able to access whatever office or building you're trying to access
Also megacorporations are enemies on a larger scale, as entities by themselves, because
they are the power structures that make the life in this universe so hard for the low-level
street people, and as the Cyberpunk genre demands, fighting megacorporations is a must,
no matter if you do it with a song if you're a Rockerboy, unveiling the truth if you're
a media or killing corporates if you're a solo
They are the enemy
Unless you're a corporate, because if you're a corporate then the things get a little bit messy
On paper, your corporation is going to be your ally and the competitors are going to
be the enemy, but in truth, there are people in your own company that would kill you for
your position and people above you that would kill you to keep their position, so it's
way more tricky than it may sound at first
Or maybe you're a corporate but you want to destroy the system from the inside
Corporate is a very complex character class and it can also give a lot of gameplay options

FREEDOM TO FUCK UP
Well, this enemy is going to need lots of explanations
Cyberpunk 2077 depicts a dog-it-dog society where is easier to make enemies than to make friends
Meaning if your actions piss off someone, this someone is going to be an enemy
Did you break in some data fortress to help a friend?
I'm sure the owner is going to consider you Persona non grata
Did you kill a Solo that was between you and your mission?
Maybe he worked for a fixer for long and, boy, pissing Fixers off is an awful idea
In here, it all depends on the consequences of your actions and if, and only if, the game
is going to have enough ramifications for you to pay the consequences of your actions
Obviously, if you steal drugs from The Wild Thing boostergang, they're not going to love you for that
What if you had to break into a Militech complex because you NEEDED that experimental cyber
arm and killed some guards on your way in? They're going to put a price on your head
In the world of 2077, you need to survive, and you will do whatever you need to do to survive
If you can do some good along the way, good, but don't count on it
Besides, the good to one person may be the harm to another, like Robin Hood who robbed
the rich to give it to the poor, made lots of friends but very powerful enemies
So it works more or less like this in here but, again, it all depends on how the game
is going to "reward" us or "punish" us for our actions, because we're talking
about a lot of ramifications in here
