Hello! Today, 27th
of April,
we'll
check the hives and
we'll let the bees into the storages,
I mean we'll the separator between
the storage and the hive.
But first, let's make
some smoke
to calm the bees down.
We lit some pressed cardboard,
which helps us a lot!
Soon, we'll check the first hive!
I gave the
hives just some
apiculture cakes for
stimulating the queens. They didn't recieve
anything else and didn't check them
since I prepared them for winter!
But,
we'll check
them now!
We've some smoke!
Let's open the hive,
but first we'll use
the beekeeping mask
to
be protected!
We remove the storage.
This was the separator,
there was a
cut and the bees could
enter in the storage,
to take care of it
and to protect it.
We put this above.
Now, let's check
some frames!
A frame full of sapling
and bees!
They don't know
me yet, because this is the
first time I check them after winter!
Let's check another one or two!
Here is sapling and honey, too!
Let's check another one!
This one has some troubles!
This one has hatched
and riped sapling,
it's new and old honey, too!
The bees from
this hive
dilligent!
We don't put the separator back,
we put the storage directly!
This hive can make
a lot of honey!
Let's see if the bees didn't climb into the storage!
Here are bees, too!
They climbed into that
hole, without my help!
It means that the hive
started to put honey in the storage!
We put
this here!
This keeps an optimum temperature for the bees.
We put the separator here,
in order to use it
in autumn.
We finished
with this hive!
I'd wanna go
to another hive,
which I found without queen
and I gave it a frame with sapling
from another hive.
Let's see if it bred a queen!
This is the hive
I was talking about!
I saw that it brought too little pollen
and then I checked it.
I saw some
bee eggs
(the bees started to lay eggs).
This is a 10 frames hive
and the storage
has
3/4 frames.
The one we checked some minutes ago has 12 frames
and the storages has 1/2 frames.
Now, let's check it!
I don't remember which is
the frame I put
to hatch the queen cell.
This hive is kind of angry!
I think we didnt succeed
to hatch a queen,
because I saw... Look, here is a queen cell,
normally gnawed!
Look, it's here!
I seems that
we hatched a bee! Let's see if we can see it!
I see no eggs, but she didn't have the time
to lay eggs, because she has to mate.
There are drones with that she can mate!
That hive hatched a queen!
Now, we'll see if she'll mate
and if she'll lay eggs!
We we'll check
another hive,
the same model like the last one;
10 frames hive
and 3/4 frames in the storage.
We remove the storage.
It has a lot of bees!
I'm sure that the bees
moved into the storage by their own!
We remove this.
It's well populated.
I don't disturb it,
because it looks very good!
We put the storage back and we check it.
The bees climbed into the storage by their own.
(Congratulating the hive)
