I was flying from the east coast to the west coast and as I was going back to my seat,

And I just want you to know that you are worth so much more.

And he just gave me a "Thanks..." and I scampered away as quickly as possible.

It's true, you know, all of us are - are worth so much more.

Ethical Board of Directors - The Yoga Professional - Katie Brauer - Duration: 8:51.

Hey you guys and welcome Katie Brauer here, the founder of The Yoga Professional and today

I'm gonna share about an ethical board of directors.

Make sure you got a pen, a notepad so that you can take some notes, and what you're going

to learn is exactly what an ethical board of directors is.

Why it's so important to your life and your business to have a board of directors, and

what the qualities are that the people that serve on your board should embody, along with

the action steps that you can take to create your very own rock solid ethical board of

directors.

So first things first, what is an ethical board of directors?

This is a small but diverse group of professionals that you have on your speed dial that you

can reach out to when you have an idea, when an opportunity lands in your lap or when you're

in a state of crisis.

It is invaluable to have this group in your back pocket because as you all know life has

its ups and downs and so does your career and it's wonderful to have these people on

speed dial so that you can get in touch promptly to get the answers, the insight and the guidance

that you need.

So here's why it's important to have these people.

It's so valuable to have others that we can turn to that can offer us insight, guidance,

advice.

They can also ask questions that perhaps we haven't thought about when we're encountering

an idea or a possible opportunity or when we're in a state of crisis.

Just to be able to have a different perspective.

When we're in it, when we're in the experience ourselves we can definitely get wrapped up

in it, you know it's like if you're in an art gallery and you're looking at an artwork

really close up, that's a very different perspective than if you stand 40-50 feet back and you

look at that same artwork you're gonna see things very differently.

So this is really the gift of having a board of people that you can go to when you're encountering

a specific experience in your life.

So that's why it's super valuable.

Definitely, definitely I have found this to be one of the most valuable things in my toolkit

and that's why I'm sharing it with you.

So the qualities that these people embody and, of course you know these are the things

that I really value, but of course add to this list, expand off this list or you know

delete things off this list but these are things that are valuable to me.

So ideally, but not necessarily, they are in a different field or industry.

Sometimes there have been experiences in my own life and business where it's been necessary

for me to engage in a conversation or reach out to support from someone that is in my

industry, but what I have found often times that it's more valuable to get an outsider's

perspective on what's going on.

So not a must-have but I personally have people from different fields and not necessarily

in my industry.

The people on my board, they embody professionalism, they are good listeners.

So the people that I can call knowing that they're not going to interrupt me or magnify

things.

That they actually are able to really hold a space for me.

They have a quality to be able to respond to life verse react to life.

So that ability to hold space and not just space but ability to hold a neutral space

so that's a very very unique quality especially if this particular person cares about you.

You know they need to be able to separate themselves from you and have this neutral

space that's held.

I really value people that have life experience because those people are likely to have had

a similar experience that I'm going through and they can offer me their insight and their

wisdom and the things that they wish they'd known when they went through it themselves.

Also they historically have given very great sound advice.

You know don't want to go to someone that gives poor advice (just x near that) and also

last but not least these people that serve on your board, they have your best interests

at heart.

So they really care about your highest good and serving your highest purpose and really

keeping you in the forefront of their heart when they're offering their advice, insight,

answering questions and whatnot, conversating with.

So those are some of the qualities that I really admire of the people that are on my

ethical board and you know I've had so many experiences over my life where I have utilized

these people and gained great value and they've saved me big mess and in many cases saved

me a lot of money because they were able to offer me things that I didn't think of or

solutions that I didn't know or weren't available to me.

So here are your action steps.

You're gonna think about who you would want to have on your board of directors and a great

way to kind of take this into a second step is think back, and crisis is one of the easiest

things to recall because crisis tends to be somewhat traumatic and leave an imprint on

a cellular structure, emotionally, energetically and physically.

So easy to recall moments of crisis that you've had in your life but if you recall one or

two moments of crisis that you have had and then the person that you called, like who

was your go-to in that moment, and to take it one step further what were the qualities

that that person embodied?

So that way you can really hone in on what the qualities are that you want to have on

your list of the people that will serve on your board and then you're going to create

your list of people that will be on this board.

Now next step, step three is to create a document.

The document you can call it Ethical Board of Directors.

It's going to go in your professional contacts file and that's going to have this person's

name, their area of expertise, their contact email and contact phone number.

Now this is really great quick reference for yourself but also for others.

You know I've found particularly in states of crisis where there's this physiological

response in the nervous system to go into a state of freeze and it's like my brain goes

on lockdown and I'm not in that moment able to, when I'm freaking out, I'm not able to

think about solutions or really grasp a broad perspective on what's happening and being

able to have this hard document that I have on my computer as a reference of like it,

it supports me in feeling empowered in the moment and knowing, one that I'm not alone

and, two that I have support.

So create the document; name, expertise, contact phone number and email and then save this

document in your professional contacts folder.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

I welcome all of you on this fantastic day

to finally open the Tomb Raider Cup 2018!

I am Nerd Brain and together with RenéMitStrich

I'll give you an introduction about the Cup itself

and everything you need to know.

That means we are talking about the general details of the Tomb Raider Cup

and its first appearance in 2018.

In addition I am going to introduce the whole team

that helped to organize this great event.

After that we'll talk about the further course of the cup

once it has begun.

To conclude this video,

we are revealing the qualification level

which marks the great start

of a great event.

So, let's jump right into this!

The Tomb Raider Cup is the first international Tomb Raider tournament

where players from all over the world can play against each other

in some very exciting live matches

also called races.

The estimated length of the cup itself is three to four months

depending on the number of participants.

As for now, we are covering a great variety

of Tomb Raider-games, including the classics made by Core Design

and the modern trilogy made by Crystal Dynamics alone.

That means, you all are going to see gameplay from

nine Tomb Raider-games!

That is the fundamental idea of the cup.

As you all might have recognized

this is the first time an event like this is taking place.

That is why this first edition of the cup is a very special one,

not just for us

but also for the players participating.

Neither they know the difficulty of the challenges ahead

nor the skills of the players they are battling.

That means we all can expect some very exciting live matches!

This has the great advantage that you get notifications

Now, I want to introduce the members of the cup staff.

These amazing people helped us to organize this event and without them,

it wouldn't be possible at all.

The first one to mention is Assassin.

His expertise of Tomb Raider 1 makes him the ideal candidate

to be our expert for this game.

He is a very kind person and also made pro-speedruns for various games.

Often he had new ideas and ways of realizing those

and made a huge contribution to the cup.

And the next member of our team is THE critt.

He is the first one to ever finish Tomb Raider 2 in less than one hour.

But besides being a great speedrunner,

he is a very polite person who does not only run Tomb Raider in general

but also other games.

Our next member is TimJ:

He is a very down-to-earth person and has a lot of knowledge

about the Tomb Raider level editor in general.

As a proof of his great building skills

he achieved the first place of the Back To Basics level contest in 2007.

There he made an excellent level called 'Following a London Sect'.

Besides that he is very creative and tries to come up with a lot of innovative and great ideas

for new levels which we will feature in the cup in the near future.

And now: LittleLifeSaver.

He is a very relaxed and kind person in general.

When it comes to Tomb Raider: The Angel of Darkness he is not kidding around.

Besides playing Tomb Raider: The Angel of Darkness on the PlayStation 2,

he comes up with new strategies and new techniques to make a part easier or more consistent.

Additionally, he tests if our challenges are appropriate for the players.

Our next fellow is going to introduce himself.

Please welcome Cadarev!

Hi, I'm Cadarev and my main connection with the Tomb Raider franchise is speedrunning

which I have done for the trilogy games and Angel of Darkness for the past few years.

Now it is true that I basically have zero experience when it comes to the classic games,

but that's why I'm not an expert for those.

Though, let's be honest:

Tomb Raider 1 and Anniversary are essentially one and the same game, right?

Thank you, Cadarev.

That was a perfect representation of yourself.

And the last but not least: Doppie.

He is a French player who used to play competitively on multiple games

such as Unreal or Trackmania.

He plays almost everything – FPS, Fighting, Driving, Flying simulators, story telling games…

and he likes to speedrun as well!

He has run a few communities and organized some online tournaments.

That is why he is the perfect member to help organizing the whole event.

With that being said our Tomb Raider Cup-team is complete.

Now, I want to explain the course of events that will happen in the context of the cup.

In general, there are three different stages our players have to battle their way through.

The first one is the qualification phase,

the second one the group stage

and the final one the knockout phase.

As you all may see:

The way to become the Tomb Raider Cup Champion is a very long and difficult one.

In this year's Tomb Raider Cup there won't be any qualification matches.

That means the participants have to play a level from the above mentioned

Tomb Raider-games as best as possible.

The level runs are evaluated with five criteria in total.

But each criterion makes up a different percentage in the evaluation.

The time which was taken makes up 30%,

the number of deaths 25%,

the used medi packs 20%, kills 15%

and the ammo that is used in proportion to the number of killed enemies 10%.

Because of this evaluation different scores are emerging for each criterion.

The goal is to achieve the best time,

the least amount of deaths,

the least amount of used medi packs,

the highest number of killed enemies

and the least amount of ammo used in proportion to the number of killed enemies.

To calculate the ammo that is used for one opponent

the amount of used ammo is divided by the amount of killed enemies.

The player who achieved the least amount of used ammo per enemy

gets the higher score in the evaluation.

Each run will be evaluated according to each criterion.

In addition each player will be listed in a criterion specific ranking.

The run which achieved the best result will be evaluated with the maximum amount of points possible.

The graduation of each score depends on the number of participants.

In the example below there are eight players listed.

To determine the graduation with each rank the number of points

is divided by the number of players.

In the example: 30 divided by 8 equals 3.75.

That means that 3.75 points are subtracted from the maximum amount of points

each time the rank-number increases.

The subtracted score is always rounded down to two decimal places.

If two players achieve the exact same result

their run is evaluated with an equal score.

Per rank the score is graduated only once.

Eventually the achieved scores from each criterion will be aggregated

so that a final score results for each run.

In total a run can be evaluated with a maximum of 100 points.

The run which achieved the best final score will be allocated to seed #1.

In general there are two groups, A and B.

During the group stage the first live matches are streamed via Twitch.

Here a player competes with all players from his own group two times in total.

That means there is a first round and a re-match between both players.

For a victory a player receives three points,

for a draw one point

and for a loss zero points.

When the total score of any places is tied

another match between those two players is played to decide the end position in the group.

At the end of the group phase the place a player achieved in a group

determines the initial position in the draw for the knockout phase.

After the group stage every player advances to the quarter finals

of the Tomb Raider Cup 2018.

Here a player has to win 3 out of 5 games to win a match.

All players that win their match advance to the semi finals.

Here a player has to win 4 out of 7 games in order to advance to the last round of the Tomb Raider Cup.

In the finale a player has to win 5 out of 9 games

to become the Tomb Raider Cup Champion.

There is also a match for the third place between

the losers of the semi finals.

Here a player has to win 4 out of 7 games to win the match.

Now, I want to officially start the Tomb Raider Cup 2018

revealing the secret qualification level!
