My Publicity Video Explained - Duration: 5:58.

When someone recommends a show to you, and you ask why you know, it's going to be good when their reaction "Is where to begin?"

You see I've uploaded a video for publicity

And if you haven't seen it yet hear me out first

The thing is it's much more than that

It's many things at once. It's an entry to a film contest slash homage

It's a pilot episode for a Kid Show, and it's the spiritual sequel to a p****

Let's first start off with the contest

My favorite content creator announced that instead of doing an art contest there will be a film festival that would take place within a month

we as

the audience would have that time period to make a 3-6 min - - -

Film festival takes place in on the internet, so everyone could vote from home.

I

Was already working on something so I felt a little upset that I was stopping in mid production to go work on a different project

The original project I was working on was going nowhere, so I need something else to focus on

So I figured I might as well take part in this festival

Heck, if I turn it on time people can see my work, and I can grow my audience from there, but there was one problem

You see at the beginning of the money. I sort of doubted myself thinking that I couldn't get it done

That was way too much work to do in such a little time

so for the next couple days

I was on the grind working as hard as I could for as long as I could and doing that as much as I could

As I'll submit in my video

I sent the guy email saying

That I was a huge fan of his and it didn't matter if I won or not

But if you can feature my video in this short film contest I would be very honored

As I hit send I realized

"wow, I actually got it done" and

This is an important part of my life because for the first time ever I proved myself wrong and it felt so good

Fast forward a couple days and the host makes an announcement saying he has good news and bad news

The good news is a lot of people participated the bad news is one too many people submit their entries

So he stayed back because there were so many videos to look at only a handful of them were gonna be selected

The day of the festival has finally arrived, and I had in mind that a couple people then we're not gonna have their video shown

And unfortunately I happen to be one of many

Yeah, I was a little bummed out at first as a matter of fact my video wasn't even shown, but that didn't stop me

Even to this day their videos - remains for everyone else to see and you know what I plan on keeping it that way

So let's talk about the video itself, huh?

The short film is divided into two sections part one is a fourth-wall break joke and

Part two is the actual video I submitted for the Film Festival

It's about an astronaut named Gen who travels across the universe going from planet to planet in search of his biological alien father

It's the first of a series

And in this episode he befriends a monkey named junkie who sacrifices himself for our main character

When I started working on this episode I had four objectives set up a kid show establish a friendship and with tragedy

Make it convincing. I do believe that this video speaks for itself

So I don't think there's much for me to say however. I will point out some things that are not obvious to newcomers like

one of my characters being a direct omage slash ripoff of another

the idea of space cats was stolen from Edd'sworld. I

Want to increase my chances of being in this festival so I featured the host in this screenshot right here

And if you look very carefully in the background you'll see a poster called princess hats

That is a direct omage to tiara more on that in a different video oh

yeah, one last thing you probably noticed a slight change in microphone quality in this scene that's because I sort of forgot a line of

Dialogue and I had to include it in there, but it was all last minute:

"That ship of yours is not gonna outrun the space cats. I gotta take matters into my own hands"

"It's been nice knowing you, but you gotta do me one promise not if but when you find your dad

You let him know I said hi"

The idea is nothing new it's been circling around my mind for a while I

Stumbled upon a low-budget sci-fi movie from China turns out it was a porno

The film is about a woman from the future who has three days to

Find a partner whom to get pregnant with due to all the men and her time period being unable to produce offspring

She meets a man from the past and within that short period of time the two fall in love

The film ends with tragedy as our two lovebirds part ways never to see each other ever again

She says that next time she'll bring friends

I guess to imply a sexy sequel, but I checked the directors filmography and this guy hasn't made anything ever since also

I like to think that the actors that move on to less embarrassing

Projects so the chances of a sequel happening are very slim to none

Looking at it from my perspective this dude is never gonna see his children. You kind of feel bad for this guy

So that's where I come in I decided to make my own version, but instead time travel. It's plants going their separate ways

Rather than be about the parents. It's about their son and the a journey that he embarks on going from planet to planet

So if you haven't already go watch the pilot episode a second time, maybe you'll appreciate a bit more
